Very attentive staff...Much appreciated. Good food and would seem to be consistently good. We couldn't fit in dessert. Delicious calamari salad.

delicious food. best Italian restaurant in WLA. Excellent service. Quickly becoming one of most popular restaurants in Brentwood. Expensive, but worth it.

We met friends and relatives for lunch, and the staff and restaurant treated us so well! Prompt service, welcoming attention, even though we didn't have a reservation, and the food was delicious. Although we only had sandwiches, salads, pizza, it was both comforting and unusual. Highly recommend the panini's, the Margeurita pizza was as flavorful as you can ever get - crisp crust, not too cheezy, rich sauce. And the salad with arugula was as good a salad as I've ever had!

Lunch here was terrific. Service was excellent and the food was well cooked and presented. Parking in the area is a nightmare, but they have a (shared) lot so no problem there. The prices, however, are very high, thus 4 stars.

Let me begin by saying the food at Palmeri is quite good, and my wife and had been regular take-out customers until last evening. Palmeri does NOT list their prices on their web-site, so I looked up their menus of Yelp and other menu sites. As we ordered their Lamb Chops the price on the other sites varied between $38-44. Imagine when we got home and they had charged $70! When I called the restaurant to mention this large discrpeancy, rather they claimed that they have nothing to do with Yelp and other sites, and the reason they don't publish prices is that the market price changes (so why not put M.P. on the menu like other places?). What bothered me the most is that they had ZERO compassion for a 60% raise. I never asked for any refund, but they offered nothing, repeat nothing, (not a drink, not a dessert, nothing!) in any way of hospitality for a regular customer, and in fact, said, "If you don't want to come back, don't come back." Enough said. I won't. There any only about a dozen very good Italian restaurants in the area who care about their customers.

When we visited Palmeri we were had just left Getty Museum and were hungry but not looking for a big meal. We read the reviews on TAdvisor and decided to see if there was a bar we could sit at and have apps. It was perfect. Darling restaurant with a small bar area (about 10 ppl can sit at bar) and we ended up having a fabulous seafood app that had calamari shrimp fish lightly battered with dips 18., shared an excellent eggplant ravioli 18. and I got a couple glasses of wine 14. each and my husband got an Italian beer he liked. Bartender Gennaro was great. We would return often if we lived in CA.This was the most authentic Italian food we have had in years!

In the land of Brentwood where restaurants are plentiful, its sometimes hard to distinguish between good, better and best. Palmeri, the family owned and run is in the best category. Their home made pastas are very good and the veal chop is exceptional. Kid friendly, great for lunch and the service is always as if you are eating with your family

We went here because it was recommended. The service was really quite a palling. It took a long time for each place that a server should appear. Along time before we ordered a long time before they came to check and so forth. We ordered The prawns covered with sole. Do not expect to see anything except for prawns. The fish which we asked to be deboned was not well deboned. The servings were not accompanied by much. One of our group was still hungry after eating. The person at our table who had the veal chop was the only one who was happy. All of this was very expensive. We will not return.

A very good restaurant - we had delicious food (especially the white asparagus & mushroom salad starter) and great service! We had the 'private room' which was very nice for our party. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had a business lunch and found excellent food for four different diets - no mean feat, but the appropriate selections were certainly helped by knowledgeable and attentive wait staff. Simply and beautifully decorated. Valet parking behind the restaurant made this an easy and enjoyable visit.

Great ambience. Fantastic service. Excellent food. There are a few very good restaurants along San Vicente, yet I always end up at Palmeri. I have walked in and gotten a table, but make a reservation when you can… the place gets lively! I hope to enjoy Chef Ottavio's food for many years to come.

Fairly expensive evn for lunch...but very good food. Split pea soup 16 dollars a bowl!..Pasta good...one bolganese and one vodka sauce. Great service by Jacob. Parking around corner behind building or across street. Worth a second trip. Only Italian place bettter is Jaspers Italian in south Kansas City.

A reunion of sorts, re-connecting with nephews in the LA area...nice place near UCLA. Italian modern.

If there were 10 stars I would give it to this restaurant, my first visit, but definitely not my last. You are greeted warmly as you walk-in and can be seated inside or out. Great for people watching on San Vicente. I must tell you I had the Very Best Shrimp I have ever tasted in my life. The quality was Excellent and it had just the minimal amount of seasoning that you could actually taste the shrimp and not just the seasoning. There was also a generous amount of these jumbo shrimps Also, their presentation was a Work of Art, not only was the food Excellent but it was beautiful. My Italian business associate who introduced me to this great restaurant had Homemade Pasta with "Bolognese" sauce and he gave it rave reviews also.

The entire experience was superb. We were celebrating a birthday in the Wine Room. The food was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed it and passed it around for samples. Susannah was very helpful in setting it up and then checking as the evening proceeded. David, the waiter, took good care of us. Palmeri made a fun event even better.

We strolled by here on a Sat afternoon looking for a glass of wine took a seat at the bar. great food and wine. The best part was just watching the staff as they all spoke in Italian and in true fashion used more hand gestures than someone using sign language. We ended up staying a few extra glasses of wine just to enjoy the atmosphere. great spot would highly recommend

Good service, they can improve by professionalizing, but they try. Good food and good atmosphere, very local, not a tourist restaurant, we found it because we passed nearby.

Palmeri the Restaurant . Very few restaurants in Los Angeles are in the position of using the term "Restaurant" .The vast majority are to be considered "Eateries" . Ottavio Palmeri Chef/owner of this fine establishment succeed in accomplishing the reproduction of most popular or forgotten dishes of the venerable Sicilian Cousine , here in Los Angeles . You may have the best "Arancini" or the best "Caponata" . "Pesto alla Trapanese" o la "Zuppa di Fave" or "Fish" or "Pizza". The best "Cannolo" , just to mention few very popular dishes . The preparation is always very precise and attentive . Nothing is left out, so you will always savour the complexities of any of your requests . The dishes , although at times complicate , shine in their freshness and taste superb . Traditional eating is at its best here . I visit Palmeri Restaurant at least twice every week for the ambience , food and very good service .

nice venue; wonderful food! And, what's NOT on the menu--the secret specials--that they tell you about--is even more incredible. Absolutely delicious!

Best Italian restaurant I've been to since going to Italy in 2014. The lasagna was perfect. If I closed my eyes I'd swear I was in Florence. We had the calamari seafood appetizer. The best ever. If you are looking for Italian go here. I live 50 miles away but I'll be back soon.

Fantastico everything: food, service, ambiance, location ! We are regular & very loyal clients of chef Ottavio Palmeri. You will love this restaurant. The food is AMAZING,super fresh, cooked perfectly.Service is old school Italian. We love it !

The hotel restaurant provided great food for the value. The food appeal was excellent and the quality of the food was superior.

We selected this because the reviews had said it was moderately priced and the food was incredible. So wrong. Three appretizers, three salads, two glasses of red wine and two bottles of Perrier came to over $200......in my book that is expensive. Food was good....not great. Mushroom soup was the best thing we ordered. The shaved artichoke salad was good, the burrata descent. Pasta came out lukewarm and terribly salty...the salmon had way too much salt as well. The room was very, very noisey...made it almost impossible to have a conversation....but we could hear what all the other tables were discussing. I wouldn't say don't go...I just would try something else next time.

It’s my second time here at Palmeri Ristorante. Very nice people, great location and beautiful restaurant. Good prices for an amazing food. I love the pasta alla Bolognese that they make. The fish is also amazing. It’s a must go.

A small, wonderful Italian Restaurant in Brendwood. Enjoyabe dishes of the day, friendly service and a reasonable pricetag. Highly recommended

We ate at the bar as the Red Sox were playing. My husband had the tagliatelle with Bolognese-very tasty. Also, very authentic-lots of meat and a bit of tomato. I had the Tortelli- Amatriciana filled pasta tossed in spinach, asparagus and "parmigiano", which was also very nice, despite the fact that I don't really like cream sauces. We shared the tiramisu for dessert-also very nice. If I lived closer, I would definitely be back.

Intimate restaurant with the most delicious Italian food. The chef pays special attention to every dish that is served. The service was 5 star. Best place to eat in LA!

I really enjoyed the wide selection and excellent quality (exquisite) of their appetizers. Main courses are good, but I would not call the quality exceptional. That said, we did not try their pasta... Wine selection and deserts are very good .. the staff was very helpful in selecting the wine... Very noisy at night, in my opinion. However. Altogether, if you are interested in trying an authentic Sicilian cuisine, this is the best place in LA I have seen...

The food was the best and most authentic Italian food I have eaten outside of Italy. High quality ingredients are used. THE best. From the owner to the chef to the waiters everyone is from Italy. Loved it

We had an exceptional late lunch at Palmeri Ristorante in the charming setting of Brentwood, adjacent to West Los Angeles . With both indoor and al fresco dining options on two sides of the restaurant, we chose to dine outside, adding an enjoyable and lively atmosphere to our afternoon. The restaurant features a very attractive front and a beautifully designed indoor dining room area, with a unique interior decorated with Travertine floors and Murano glass light fixtures. It also has a lovely area for a group meal near the front of the restaurant. It has an expansive menu and it was hard to pick just a few dishes but we will be back again in the near future! Our luncheon began with the Fritto Misto, a perfect medley of lightly fried and crispy calamari, shrimp, and scallops, served with two delicious dipping sauces. Each bite was a testament to the chef's expertise—delicious and impeccably prepared. We also enjoyed the Invernale Salad with a rainbow of colors which featured endive, baby frisee, radicchio, grapes, Gorgonzola Dolce, almonds and a light prosecco dressing. The salad was absolutely fabulous. Another highlight of our meal was the Branzino, a Mediterranean sea bass baked in a Sicilian sea-salt crust. Served with sautéed spinach, this dish was initially covered in salt, enhancing its robust and flavorful profile. For dessert, we indulged in the Cannoli alla Siciliana "Mamma Dorotea," featuring tangy orange-flavored ricotta cheese and pistachios. It was the perfect sweet ending to a delightful meal. Each very special dish dish was beautifully presented with a unique combination of pleasing ingredients and flavor. The service was excellent, making our experience even more memorable. We also had the pleasure of chatting briefly with Ottavio Palmeri, the Chef Owner originally from Sicily, whose passion for culinary excellence is evident in every dish. Palmeri Ristorante truly excels in delivering an extraordinary dining experience. The combination of exquisite dishes, a beautiful outdoor setting, and excellent service makes it a must-visit for anyone in Brentwood.

We went to dinner with friends and at their advice. The service was good, if a bit spotty, and we were assigned a great table by the window. Unfortunately, the chef spent the entire evening standing by and occasionally sitting at at the adjoining table, loudly discussing the menu, the preparation, and numerous other subjects of no interest to us. He at no time displayed any recognition that he might be disrupting our meal. Says everything one needs to know about how this restaurant is managed. There are any number of Italian restaurants in the area offering food as least as good, at better prices, where the chef remains at a discrete distance and appears only briefly.

Quick business lunch midweek - prices were typical and food was fine but not memorable. Service was friendly and reasonably quick

I happen to have a degree in culinary arts from Europe. After working, living, eating and drinking for 4 (four) years in Italy I feel a tiny bit qualified commenting on Palmeri. Since I do not like to say HATE I will say that I absolutely LOVE people who comments on the decor instead of the food that is truly Italian and phenomenal. So my lovely dilettante: Enjoy Carnegie Deli or the 2nd Ave. Deli in NY, NY or locally LANGER'S (the best) and PLEASE-PLEASE write about the decor and leave out the food experience.

This was the second time my husband and I had dined at Palmeri with friends. We love everything about it! As soon as we walked in, "Buona Sera" was offered and we were given a choice of tables. The charming maitre'd came by and chatted with us and was patient and helpful with our attemps at Italian and answered questions about where his family was from in Italy. The Sicillian chef (and possibly the owner?) came by to ask how we liked everything. Our waiter was fantastic and everyone was very gracious and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent. I had the pollo with potato, artichoke and mushroom which was great. My husband had the duck paparadelle which was fantastic. The little goat cheese marinara that is served with bread is terrific. We had biscotti assortiti and hazelnut icecream for dessert. Everything was fantastic, seriously. This is my favorite Italian place in Los Angeles! It is a very sophisticated restaurant, but felt like eating with family.

Who knew classic Italian fare could taste so new and fresh? First we were wowed by our server's knowledge of the menu (and posh Italian accent too). Wine, cocktails, pastas--what could've been a run-of-the-mill evening was anything but! We especially appreciated a custom-designed pasta dish for our vegetarian diner.

Had a chance to finally go to Palmeri and was not disappointed. The service has very good and our waiter was excellent. The have a very nice and varied menu. They are accommodating and willing to work with you on any changes. I would recommend the fish baked in salt, it was fantastic. When they are crowded it can get noisy but this is a small price to pay.

Had lunch here last week. I've eaten here a number of times, both for lunch and dinner. Never disappointed. Had the clams and mussels in broth for an appetizer. Delicious. Could've eaten this 10 times over. The shellfish was cooked to perfection and the broth was great to finish up with the bread. Had the chef's selection for an entree, which was half a portion of dover sole in lemon sauce, and half a portion of the crab ravioli. OMG! Could eat this every day. Such delicate flavors in the sauce for both. I don't usually like seafood ravioli, but this was exquisite. You could really taste the crab. My friend and I shared the cannoli and the lemon tart. The cannoli was one of the best I've ever had. It was very delicate in texture and flavor. The lemon tart tasted off, and so I wouldn't recommend except that the lemon sorbet that it came was refreshing. Overall, a great meal with excellent.

This restaurant is located in Brentwood on the west side of Los Angeles. The food was top notch and we had a great and inexpensive Sicilian wine that was delicious. I went with 2 foodies and we were not disappointed. This restaurant flies under the radar and is not as well known or as popular as other Italian restaurants nearby, but it is a find and worthy of a visit.

Great waiter, pleasant atmosphere and the food was splendid. Why not an excellent rating then? So the bottle of wine I ordered from their wine list was not available. The Chef and perhaps the owner then visited our table asking what I was seeking, type of wine and price range as he would like to select something special for us. I told him I was looking at a Nero d'Avola. He then brought out a bottle and the winemaker was unknown to me. It was certainly drinkable and, because he had personally selected it, I feined enjoyment. (I know, big mistake). But when I later looked up the wine I found it available everywhere for $19 and he charged $85. Could I help but having felt gouged!

Visited this italian restaurant tonight with my husband after arriving in LA today. Recommended by our hotel Luxe. The food was fantastic. I mean reallly really good. So fresh and tasty. Not overly large servings but the price was reasonable. Had a 3 course dinner with complimentary bread and tomato/bocconcini dip, salad and pasta with beer and wine followed by fabulous dessert choices and coffee/tea. All for $110. Waiter seemed a bit curt to start but soon warmed to be jovial and friendly. Service was excellent. Try this small restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

We were attending a family dinner and what a dinner! The appetizers would have been enough, but the entrees were even better. The sole was cooked perfectly and the short ribs were tender. Tiramisu ranked up there with the best I have eaten in Florence. Servers were patient and helpful!

This is one of the most authentic Italian Restaurants in LA. The food is always excellent. Everything is cooked to perfection, the owner and the staff is eager to please and to create a pleasant dining experience.

Friendly and professional service. I had a green salad, the shrimp risotto special and the waiter talked us into the cannoli in a most amusing way. The risotto and the cannoli were very good. Not a cheap lunch, but I would definitely return.

This is one of the best Italian Restaurants in LA. The food is always excellent. The pasta is cooked to perfection. The staff is pleasant and they create a great dinning experience.

Gotta love a place that serves you food before you order! Soon after you're seated, they bring a tasty dish of mozzarella in a lovely meatless red sauce and some warm Italian bread. Great menu with many interesting dishes. Finally settled on the swordfish, which was fantastic. Service and presentation was excellent. Tables were pretty close together, but we ended up discussing wine with the couple next to us. Corkage fee was reasonable - maybe $30? Cost is in line with quality of meal and other nearby restaurants.

My friend took her child and was charged $15 for approx 3/4 of penne noodles with butter. I was quite surprised as the menu showed complete portion with sauce for $16. Very odd. Fruit de mare=How hum ok but warm. Restaurant super noisy hardly to talk and service was efficient when I stopped waving my arms for attention. It was Friday night so maybe that's the reason it was a bit crazy.

Arrived in la today and was looking for somewhere reasonably local This restaurant came up in a Google search so we gave it a try We found one of the waiters extremely abrupt but the lady who set up the table was pleasant and kind and the younger chap behind the bat was very helpful.giving advice where to go The meal was good very tasty but we thought pretty expensive compared to other.places we had tried We weren't impressed with the waiter there is never an excuse to be rude to customers

We called Palmeri at the last moment on Christmas Eve, We were a party of 7, They not only acomodated us but let us order from the menu rather than the set menu. The food was outstanding along with the staff, We will return

This restaurant is worth the trip! Exceptional quality Italian food, stellar customer service and attentive wait staff. Ottavio the chef/owner is amazingly creative, using the freshest ingredients and everything prepared to perfection. By far our best meal ever while staying in Los angeles. Grazia palmeri's

Palmeri is one of those restauants that combines friendly atomsphere and wonderful food. You can actually hear yourself talk there.

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time, but my other 2 favorite Italian restaurants are also in the same neighborhood. We took our chances, and popped into this restaurant on a Friday night and luckily got seated before the rush. The menu had many tempting options, all of which sounded absolutely delicious. We knew we were in the right place when the marinara dipping sauce with mozzarella was so wonderful to start us off. The very Italian staff put me right back into Italy, and the food was amazing. We tried two special pastas, one with spaghetti and mussels, and the other was their lasagna with bechamel sauce. Both were exquisitely prepared, and perfectly cooked. The corkage was high ($25/bottle) but typical in Brentwood, but everything else was worth it. The restaurant is small-ish, so reservations are important. They have a wonderful back wine room for a party of 8-10 people, that seems really nice and cozy. However, the rest of the restaurant is a little loud, but still charming. They have a valet service and a parking lot immediately behind the restaurant, as well as street parking if you can find it. I would definitely like to go back to this restaurant to try some other things on their menu.

Met old friends for lunch. We all had salads and shared a dessert, I had soup to start. It is a classy, quiet, extremely competent and friendly authentic Italian restaurant. Highly recommend. Plus is parking in back, a gift in Brentwood.

I had a work dinner at Palmeri and we ate in the private wine room - what a beautiful room with amazing ambiance. The restaurant is not pretentious and I would never guess from the small size the high quality and extensive selection. The food was excellent and the selection was extensive. The waiter recommended the daily specials and we were not disappointed. We ordered 5 appitizers for the table and then each ordered a main course. It is truffle season, and many of us took advantage of the tasty dishes with shaved truffles - YUM! The gnocci were like soft little pillows in a fantastic truffle sauce. Highly recommend.

We regularly dine here once a visit. This time, everyone selected chef's specials. The standouts were the white asparagus and mushroom salad and the artichoke heart and fennel salad. Absolutely delicious. Two of us tried the bow tie pasta and sausage entre. I enjoyed it; my friend preferred her usual spinach ravioli selection. The third person selected the gnocchi special and loved it. The lemon tart is a standout dessert. Hard to describe how much flavor is packed in something so small. It even beats chocolate, and I rarely admit to that. Bread is excellent. Definitely recommend trying this restaurant. Valet parking behind the building. Everything about it makes dining here an enjoyable experience.

This is a very high end Italian restaurant and many of the dishes have prices to match. But the quality is excellent, the food interesting and innovative and the service impeccable. A great Italian experience, suitable for friends or romance. I had lunch which included a special of spaghetti with truffles. No prices given so be prepared for some sticker shock if you aren't used to buying truffles. The dish itself was excellent as was the house Italian red which accompanied it. A delightful dining experience.

Our entire party voted this restaurant as one of the finest we have ever been to. The service was efficient and friendly. I am diabetic, so when I declined the deserts, I was brought a platter of cut up fruit ( without asking )

wonderful experience at our neighbourhood gem.. Great family ownedItalian with lovely menu and good food.... not the celebrity crowd but real people

We've been eating here for several years, and our last visit was a disappointment. I think the servers are very gracious with their regulars and they have a steady clientele. The bread and warm tomato & goat cheese spread is to die for. Alan and I shared the heirloom tomato appetizer. It lacked salt and pepper. It needed more basil. I ordered the lasagna special. It was fine and the best of our three entrees. Alan ordered the halibut special. It lacked flavor and had an odd texture. It wasn't flakey army all. Our host ordered the tortellini. The tomato sauce had a raw taste and the tortellinis were watery. The lemon tart is perfection. The best there is. I think the key to this restaurant is ordering the right dish each time. When it's good, it's great. When they miss, it's a big miss.

I have dined in many Italian restaurants, and the vast majority of those in Italy. Palmeri can take its place with the best of them. The carpaccio melted as you ate and the papparedelle ossobuco was memorable for all the right reasons. I had a glass of negromaro and un cafe to finish. I met the owner chef and was looked after by Lorenzo (Larry, me thinks) It is positioned in a prosperous enclave of LA so it is not cheap, but for that special occasion definitely vale la pena.

I went for dinner with two friends to Palmeri last night. Besides an extensive menu, the server offered several specials as appetizers and entrees. We opted to start with two orders of squash blossoms as an appetizer - and they were delicious. For my entree I ordered the halibut special - and was quite satisfied with it. My friends both ordered the swordfish special and were disappointed. They felt that it was tough (but swordfish IS served as a steak and is normally a dense fish. But, they also didn't like the sauce as it was particularly salty. There was some discussion with the server and then the chef - after which they were offered an alternate entree. They both enjoyed this alternate which was linguine with clams. Would I return to Palmeri? Yes, there are many things on the menu that sounded incredible. Just ask about the preparation of the dish before you order.

Black Truffle Oil Vinaigrette with Hearts of Palm and Arugula and I could stop there. Gracious host/manager Sandro and Chef Ottavio Palmeri are not only delightful hosts (allowing us the prized "window seating") but serve up some of the most delicious Italian cuisine on the West Side. My veal chop was like butter, the pastas perfectly cooked and as I said, the derivative of the menu salad that Sandro subbed Hearts of Palm for asparagus was over the top. If it seems like my ratings are only excellent--I choose my dining events with great care and make sure to look at the kitchen, see the team working in action, and have the manager describe the menu. The server was too new to understand the nuances of the dishes, and our host was over the top descriptive. The food exceeded and greetings from Chef during the meal are always a treat--especially in the window seating. I'm going back again, and again, and again.

This may be a one time problem but our waiter was very intrusive, coming over many times to be part of our conversation, offering his own stories and comments. We were a party of five who had not seen each other in a long time and we would have preferred to be left alone. The restaurant was almost empty and perhaps the server wanted to make our evening special but it was not appreciated. Apart from that, the food itself was excellent. Pastas were mouthwatering, the heirloom tomatoes perfect, and the filet, one of the best I have sampled in LA. All well cooked and all served hot and in a timely manner. The Tortellini with pork and vegetables was amazingly smooth. The home me cannolis should not be missed if you have room for dessert. It would be hard to find better Italian in LA than this and I would definitely return, hoping for a more crowded evening where the servers are busier and not so intrusive. While the decor is nothing special, the restaurant certainly is!!

visited last night with Italians friends and we all loved the food. we shared Frutti di Mare (appetizer) and is one of the best in L.A. I had branzino (seabass) as entree, and Cannoli for dessert. Ingredients are fresh and everything I had was just like in Italy!! Highly recommend it.

It was a Sunday evening after shopping in Santa Monica and me and my friend we decide to walking into Palmieri, As soon as we arrive with got a nice table closed to the window then we order the fried Calamari, we order the “ Scoglio” and the “Pappardelle with white veal ragout, the waiter suggest “Prosecco” and some other red wine option by the glass with our dishes, the service was attentive to details, busserà bring up the bread basket after we order it and property re-filll our water glasses during the meal time. The two dishes of pasta was great and satisfying in the flavors, presentation and quality. We got two orders of ice cream and almond cookies. The food was great, with right portion amounts, very tasty, good portions nicely presented. I would like to invite every Italian food lovers to this restaurant, for his consistency and great service and be recognized from trip advisor for the best authentic Italian food.

this is a neighbourhood gem. The staff was super friendly ( eventhough we were 45 min late) a pleasant sitting outside on a summer evening we felt we had travelled somewhere . Great menu and excellent food. Lovely crowd and because the owners are present impeccable service.

Sandro is over the top--a consummate restaurateur and utterly charming host of this gem of an eatery in Brentwood. The Chef's specialty--osso bucco--was out of this world delicious! The salt crusted whole Branzino was equally spectacular--masterfully cooked, moist and full flavored.. Pastas are overwhelming--prepared to perfection. The flourless chocolate cake for dessert is a chocolate lover's dream, but try the chocolate and pistachio gelato combo or the canole infused with citrus notes. What a way to end the perfect meal. The place was so busy we were short a chair to start our private dining experience in the wine room--no worry--standing for generous cocktails at the start was the way any great party should start, right? Lots of good Italian in LA, but check this place out--and ask for Sandro. Delightful host, great food and our "home" for Italian food when in LA. One word--Awesome.

Went to Palmeri tonite with some friends. The parking is behind the establishment with validation. The decor is nice. The noise level however is excessive. The service is friendly and good. The pricing is reasonable to high. The food choices are good. The taste profiles of the food are average to good. One of the fish dishes was well received, the rest of the dishes were average/good. No particular dish stood out as excellent or superior. Having wide experience eating in fine restaurants and other level eateries, I will be in no hurry to return to Palmeri. One reviewer emoted that it was the best Italian restaurant since they went to Italy. I don't share that opinion. It wouldn't make my list of good Italian restaurants. I would return if friends wished to go there but would likely not choose it myself.

Our dinner began surprisingly, with a dip of charred, melting goat cheese atop a warm pool of seasoned tomato sauce, accompanied by flavorful bread and breadsticks— all complimentary, a rarity at present. Dishes were presented beautifully, from a cylinder of julienne beets for the beet salad, to an artful arrangement of squid ink ravioli stuffed with crab and topped with rock shrimp (an outstanding dish). Carpaccio was exceedingly thin and tender, and tagliatelle had a perfect Bolongnese with chunks of lean meat. Lemon tart was intense in flavor, velvet in texture, simply stunning on the plate with a dollop of sorbet. Cannoli were classic, and worth taking home if there is no room for dessert. The waiters and staff were helpful and friendly, while very efficient. Indoors, Palmeri is a lovely restaurant, with Murano glass fixtures indoors. Outdoors, the seating is comfortable, service still excellent, and certainly warm enough with massive, decorative heaters. Choices abound on the menu, in the seating, for a wonderful dinner experience.

Palmeri has become our go-to Italian. Liveable noise level, great food, good service and gracious owners. They do a wonderful branzino and the canopli are to die for

Reasonable prices and hearty ham and egg sandwich. Quick service. Good coffee. Nice wait staff. Located in the Hyatt. Not fancy.

Palmeri is a real Italian restaurant run by real Italians!!!! Amazing since in LA most ofite times italian restaurants are run by Mexicans or Eastern European claiming to be Italians and the food is neve ever good or real Italian food Palmeri instead is run by Italians , the food is fantastic really Italian with the traditional Italian flavors and taste!!!!Cousin is really good! I'v ordered mushroom risotto, very difficult plate to prepare if you're not a real Northern Italian ,it was Amazing!!!! It's a big yes and if you're looking for a high quality real Italian cousin this place is a must!

We enjoyed ourselves. Easy parking in the rear. Varied menu of Italian specialties. We had the carciofi, tagliatelli, cavatelli, lemon tart, and a good Italian Corvina red wine. Nice lemon tart for desert. Does not come up to great Chicago or East Coast Italian, but very good for Los Angeles.

We were greeted by a very nice hostess. The waiter was great, very knowledgeable of the menu, specials, ingredients, etc. The food was very good. Atmosphere is nice and it is not noisy so you can have a very nice conversation. we went 2 couples and we all loved it. We will be back.

For all lovers of Italy, in the words of Frank Sinatra, “Come Fly With Me” lets float down to (Peru with Frank) or if you are hungry to Palmeri Ristorante on San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood, CA. Brentwood, one of LA’s posh neighborhoods, has gone from stately homes, manicured lawns, the running/bike paths of San Vicente Blvd. to Italy in LA. San Vicente is now home to scores of great Italian restaurants any one of which may leave the diner happy, full and satisfied. My particular favorite is Palmeri Ristorante (Ottavio Palmeri Chef/Owner with his Wife Susana), a “jewel” and “hidden gem”. Passing by you are not aware that inside the restaurant you are transported to an elegant, sophisticated Italian setting replete with mustard colored walls, marble floors, crystal and colorful vases inset into the walls. And the food is superb. My friend, colleague, and co-author, Mark Ivener, internationally renowned immigration attorney is a world traveler, a true gourmet who knows his food, wine and art and has just returned from nearly a month in Paris, Venice and Lake Como where he and his wife viewed art, stayed at great hotels and ate fabulous meals (I meet him to get the update). “Good poets write, great poets steal”. I have spent years “stealing from” Mark at Palmeri in “ La Dolce Vita lifestyle” while being satiated with fresh breads, homemade tapenade (two items by which I evaluate any restaurant) before I dive into their excellent selection of freshly prepared seafood, pastas and other delectable items. Their wines are excellent choices at reasonable prices offering California and Italian Superb choices. The key to Palmeri is both the great food and the Mediterranean ambience. Rather than feel rushed to turn the tables for the next guests, you feel welcome to relax, linger and enjoy the incredible blend of the Golden California lifestyle with their exquisite cuisine from Italy (and no plane ride required). When Mark and I first started writing books and articles for International Investors who wanted to immigrate to the US and face the daunting tax issues (see my website gswlaw.com for more information) we agreed that it was better to brainstorm over a meal. Years ago, he brought me to Palmeri. Now when we meet, the question is not where do we eat, but what time at Palmeri. If Mark is pleased (with Frank S. gone, I view Mark as the “Chairman of the Board” on all matters of food, wine and travel) you will be pleased too. So come to Palmeri, leave your cell phones in the car, turn off the demands of daily life and take a brief Italian vacation over a luxurious meal. You will be glad you did and will go home well fed and happy. As we say in NY, “Whats not to like”.

This was an amazing experience . Meatballs to die for! The most fabulous pesto and handmade pasta. Have been here many times and always the best authentic Italian cuisine. Supersedes all expectations of Italian foods!! If there were Six stars I'd give it seven.

Perfectly cooked, well spiced, great service. All in all most delicious and highly recommended. Will definitely eat there again when i'm back in LA.

Excellent Italian cuisine. I had the stuffed and fried zucchini blossoms and my wife had the misto salad. Both were fresh and delicious. For our entree we had a special spicy pasta with black truffle shavings and a special pappardelle pasta. Both were wonderful. Dessert was an assortment of Italian cookies. Our waiter was helpful and friendly. Great meal. We will definitely return.

Ate there with some family members who are regulars, and who know the staff very well. I had the chicken, which was very good, as was the service. Some of the latter might've been attributable to the pre-existing relationships with members of our party.

We usually order from the menu at Palmeri, but our waiter recited specials that sounded enticing. They were absolutely outstanding: burrata was paired with pear; linguine with crab was enveloped in a white wine sauce, came artfully arranged within the shell, and was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten; wild mushroom risotto was intense in flavor; the pistachio and pear tart was sublime. As always, servers were very knowledgeable and helpful. Palmeri exceeded all expectations with such specials, even as we have appreciated its wonderful menu through the years.

I went to Palmeri tonight because my husband and I ate well there a couple of years ago. Tonight I was alone, and had a different experience. I arrived a bit after 6 PM when the restaurant was not busy. I sat at the bar and all was well for a while. I ordered a simple meal of an heirloom tomato salad, Dover sole, and a glass of wine. The food was good, but not too interesting. Seated alone at the bar, I was privy to the conversations going on with the staff. I realized that I had helped them clear out the last of the sole on a Monday night. The house manager boned it efficiently, and it was reheated and then served. I think I might have preferred boning it myself at the table , if it were served on a hot plate. Accompanying the sole was fairly pedestrian rapini. But it was ok, and I am not ill. Now, here's the problem: while I was eating the restaurant began to fill, at about 7 o'clock. After that, I got no more attention. No one asked me if I enjoyed my meal, or would care to order anything else. I was simply ignored. I caught the bartender's eye and ordered a digestif. I mentioned that I would like dessert. But no one ever came to take my order. There was no offer of coffee, dessert, or anything else. I drank my digestif while watching the Red Sox beat the Rangers on the bar television. And that was good to see. I asked for my check and left. I suppose if I had not been alone I would've gotten better service. I have been treated appropriately and attentively in similar situations in other cities. But here, I just paid and left without a fare thee well. I can't say that this is not a place for couples , or parties of more than one. But, it is definitely not a place for a single woman, or perhaps any lone diner. This is Los Angeles, and I am from Austin, Texas, so I expected to pay more for my dinner than I would have at home. It was healthy, light, tasty, but nothing special. And I spent $110 before tip with one glass of Proseco, a glass of white wine ( not what was on the wine list, because they were out of the that and offered a substitute), and an after dinner digestif. I had no problem getting my drinks, because I was sitting at the bar. The bartender was harried. I asked about that and was told that he works there once a week and therefore doesn't quite have a rhythm. I felt sorry for the poor guy. My experience may have been atypical. Perhaps what others ate was more exciting. But, I will not return. The food is okay, but too expensive for such dull stuff. I'm here for the month, living within walking distance of this Brentwood neighborhood , hoping to find interesting restaurants in the vicinity. I am a woman of a certain age, and being invisible is not ok. My credit card is as good as any. And my money is ageless. And I've had lovely dinners elsewhere that made me happy. This was not one.
