Best when the weather is right for patio dining, pleasant staff, wide menu with reasonable meats pasta and a fish selection. Fresh, fairly healthy. More tables outside than inside.

It´s not exactly easy to find it, but when you do, WHOA! You will be surprised! For lunch, my favorite is a 1/2 and 1/2 combination. You can choose two of either soup, salad or sandwich and make your own dish. You wil bee SO happy!

I recently had dinner at Pam's for the first time. I chose it by geography. It was in an area where I had to wait 2 hours for my children to finish an extracurricular activity, and it was dinner time. I sat outside, on the patio (as the name implies). The basic metal chair and metal table contrasted greatly with the menue, which was full of interesting and original recipes. There is a very wide range of dishes from various cultures, all of them with recipe descriptions that make me hungry. I ordered a Stella from the bar, and the barman brought it, along with a small glass of a beer he wanted me to try. It was called White Rascal, a delicious hefeweisen, and it was so good that it made me sorry that I drank it first. Afterward, the Stella tasted like water. The menu was so broad in scope that I couldn't decide. I asked my server, Katie, to name her three favorite things. She did, and I chose one of the three, the Chicken Saltimbocca. It was a great choice. The chicken was beaten thin, served over a bed of sauteed spinach and angel hair, covered in a rich creamy sauce that I can't begin to describe. It was fantastic. It was served with several pieces of hot focaccia bread, set on my table in a brown paper bag. The price was very reasonable, considering the high quality of the food. If you want plush surroundings and a leather chair while you dine, this is not the restaurant for you. However, if a casual atmosphere, and deceptively good food and drink are your goal, you must visit Pam's. The service was excellent; attentive but not bothersome or overbearing. Katie's recommendation was perfect, as was the sample of beer provided gratis by the barman. This is the kind of retaurant I would want to own, if I were to have my own restaurant.

Friendly. Great menu variety. Good prices. Fast but not mass production. Nice atmosphere. Delicious. Able to accommodate special diets

Loved our lunch here! Great sandwiches and salads. They offer 1/2 sandwich for the light eaters. Nice patio area to sit at if the weather is nice. Great bar area as well with several beers on tap and a nice wine selection. Staff was very helpful and friendly. When you come in, you order at the counter and then they bring your food to your table.

I had the 1/2 tuna sandwich, which is served with chips and avocado salsa. It is good but kind of expensive. $8 for 1/2 a sandwich and tea is kind of expensive to me. They have homemade lemonade and deserts like carrot cake. Again, good but on the expensive side. It is nice to sit outside on the patio for a relaxing lunch. They also have dinner but I've never eaten dinner there.

I love this place for a couple reasons. It has great food, it has a fun atmosphere which reminds me of Austin and Pam works the cash register most days. There is something to be said for meeting the owner of a place when you eat there. I think its great that you can see Pam's son and daughter's wedding photos and then look in the kitchen or behind the counter and see them standing there in normal clothes. It makes it feel like family in there. The food is great and they always seem to mix and match unconventional items to make classic sandwiches stand out. Its a little pricey for lunch and dinner, but the food is of high quality and you can taste the love and care Pam puts into her resturaunt in every bite. I think that everyone that likes sandwhiches should try Pam's for lunch at least once and see what they think. I recommend it for casual summer night dinners and cool lazy day lunches. Once you taste it, you'll want to go back. Tell Pam I say Hi!

I've been to Pam's Patio Kitchen and I've loved it both times. I've had their pizza and the spinach salad with pecans, strawberries and oranges and it was lovely! I highly recommend going and sitting outside on the patio as the weather permits. Nice for families or for a romantic dinner. Great food and decent prices!

I have lived right down the street from this place for over 3 years! Pam's Patio Kitchen is tucked in the corner of an L shaped shopping strip behind a gas station, so it is no wonder I didn't see it. That being said, I have found my new hangout! Plenty of seating inside and out and a fantastic menu. The tortilla soup is the excellent and the turkey avocado sandwich on focaccia bread is heavenly. Home made chips with a mango salsa add the perfect amount of zing to tastebuds. I spied 4 homemade cakes that I am going to be sure to try a slice on my next trip. They even serve wine! I especially loved sitting outside on the patio!

My sister and I stopped by for dinner. We should have turned around at the door. The restaurant itself was pleasant- looking but the odor of over- done garlic was so strong our clothes smelled of it afterwards! We each had a glass of wine and shared a nacho appetizer. It was otherwise fine but overly drenched in cheese. After it had been heated, the plate literally dripped with grease. She ordered the Campeche shrimp cocktail, which she said was all right but overly sweet. I, unfortunately, ordered the Hop Sing Lettuce Wrap. The only thing edible in it, even before adding the hot sauce which came as requested on the side, was the lettuce. In fact, the ingredients were unrecognizable. Our server , to her credit, noticed that I had eaten only a couple of bites and offered a complementary glass of wine or dessert, but we declined. Total bill, including tax and tip was about $55. We probably won't go back.

We've been customers of Pam since she and her husband opened this fantastic restaurant. My favorite is the half reuben with a cup of tortilla soup. Dinner offerings are surprisingly exotic for a neighborhood place. The furnishings are getting a bit shabby, but the food is consistently good.

Another chance to try a new place. We had reservations. Waitress was not attentive I never received my glass of wine My husband’s appetizer didn’t arrive until the other 2 in the party completed theirs. Asked for our deserts To go & was told they would do it this time but not again during restaurant week. ???? We paid for desert & can’t get to go ? Anyway food good but staffing & attitude a2

I have searched the world over for a noon mean that wouldn't leave slumped over my wheel b y the time I could get out of the parking lot.. Best Grilled Salmon salad..With all the protein you need and great Olive oil ( good fat).. To be heathy and filling... This is the THRID time I have had this salad and it has earned my tasting bud accolades as consistently Fantastic!.. To top it off the folks at Pam's actually make you feel like you are eating at home... Without the mess to clean up!! Cheers!

Seven Ladies, of which I am one, met here for a Christmas Lunch. Each person ordered like any other time I have gone to Pam's Patio Kitchen, which means you order at the counter and they bring your order to the table. We all loved our selections. The little room, downstairs I s perfect for a group up to 15 persons to celebrate an occasion. With the atmosphere at Pam's our event was casual but it could have been formal. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The decor from the heavy wooden tables to the funky art on the walls was great. I like Pam's.

Was happy to return to this restaurant for the second time! I love their sandwiches and they have some great cold beer selections. The staff here are all super friendly. They are very busy at lunch time but they try hard to get you through the line as quickly as possible. They have a nice patio outside to sit at if the weather is nice.

This was my first visit to Pams. It came highly recommended. I ordered the field greens salad. It was fresh, but I prefer fewer carrots. The salmon I ordered to have on the the top of the salad had a strange plastic flavor to me. I have no idea how to explain the flavor, but it was not good. Even though I paid $5 for the salmon, and it was a generous portion, I couldn't eat it. Almost every table was full at lunch. I would maybe go back if someone else recommended it, however, I certainly wouldn't get the salmon. The food was ready quickly. The fresh pita bread was excellent!

This is one of my favorite lunch spots and I love to take out of town guests here. They have a great variety of menu items and the chicken breast they use for sandwiches t is particularly amazing. I always get the Vietnamese sandwich which comes with chips and mango salsa. Everything here is homemade and fresh! Their strawberry lemonade is awesome as well!

Actually Pam's has some of everything from the best Reuben in town to the best Black Bottom Cupcakes, those are my favorites but you can find everything here even pizza. They have a cozy patio tucked back in the corner that is shaded and cool even on hot days. I have been coming to this mom & pop restaurant for years and their food is consistently good. They recently added a bar and are now open for dinner as well as during the day.

Prepare for a line at lunch, but it always moves quickly. Everything is always at the peak of freshness. Soups, salads, sandwiches and unexpected touches always leave me happy. The Guadalajara Chalupa is the best ever! Desserts are fresh baked there and soul satisfying! Dinner is a different menu with the same commitment to quality and freshness. David's recipes always have his own special touch with exceptional varaiety given the size of the restaurant. Large wine list and their love of exceptional beers is evident. They display and encourage local artists; it's always fun to see what they have on the walls! They offer breakfast on some monrings, but we haven"t tried that yet.

I went there with my family for lunch. We had sandwiches, soup, pizza, and a slice of chocolate cake. The dining room can be a little cramped when busy but the service and food was good. I'll go back for another meal.

This place has become busy over the last few years. The sandwiches are very good and aren't what you'd expect elsewhere. Classy and tasty with great soups and a super strawberry lemonade! It is pricey, but don't let that stop you from trying it at least once to see if it is for you. Watch out around noon or there will be a line out the door.

First time here and first impression was great. Very clean and staff was friendly. I ordered the nachos and I thought for a sandwich shop they were very good. They cost $9 and that was a bit much for chips with cheese. My friend ordered a turkey sandwich and added bacon and the darn thing came out to $16!!!! That's a lot of money for a sandwich. I will not be back because of the price.

Good wine selection and nice variety on the menu. Everything was excellent. The patio area is a nice place to relax and enjoy some wine.

One bite of any sandwich on the menu and you will agree that this might be one of the best sandwiches you have ever had. There is something that they do to the sandwiches but there just seems to be a ton of flavor. My fave is the torta sandwich with beef and jalapenos. You can get half sandwiches or whole. My advise is to get the whole sandwich. You can take some home and have it later. I love the mango salsa that comes with your sandwich along with chips. The tea is outstanding. I especially love the background music. I am a huge fan of the blues and there is always some great blues in the air. Ask to meet Pam or her husband. Both are top notch.

Pam's has a delightful menu with great sandwiches and salads. Their desserts are too die for. Definitely a great place to pick up lunch. They get crowded so you need to come early.

Food is acceptable. Soup that I've tried had too much cream in it. Just seems a bit overpriced.

My daughter and I had lunch on my way to the airport. It was casual and fast but the food was very well prepared and tasty . The place was quirky and loved the art work . The staff were very friendly and helpful and made you feel like you were eating lunch at a friends house . Will go again for sure

We forget to come here since it is off the beaten path, but the food is good and the staff is always so nice! The soups, salads, and sandwiches are all good lunch choices. My favorite dinner, the Rasta Pasta, is yummy and huge. Enough to enjoy your leftovers the next day! Large patio for dining under the stars for a nice dinner for two, or if your kids need to be outside. The great thing about coming here is that the owners, wait staff, everyone is so nice. Like visiting family. Only drawback is the sticky-ish floor in the restroom

It's busy but the food is worth it! Their Thai Beef Salad is so good, their mango salsa is to die for, their strawberry lemonade is so yummy. I think I need to eat here at least once a week! I've eaten here for years and the food has always been consistently delicious. YUM!

Great food. Great servers!! Definitely worth trying once. I guarantee you'll love it!! I've had many of the sandwiches and all we're most scrumptious. Soups were very good. And the desserts.....OMG!!

On my birthday, I and my husband decided to go out for dinner. So we planned to go to a restaurant called "Millano" which was next to "Pam's Patio Kitchen". When I looked at the window, i decided to try it out. It just grabbed my attention with its lights and decoration. It gives a feeling of warmth. The food variety was great. You could feel the uniqueness of the place. There were some art work all around the place that added to the uniqueness of the place. If you happen to like those art pieces, they were for sale. The hostess was nice and friendly. The food was a lot and reasonably priced. We got really full with one shared appetizer and two main dishes. We couldn't have room for dessert. They also got some car toys for my 18 months baby to play with. The food was so good and generous that we had the rest for the next day lunch. We really had great quiet time where we felt like eating at grandma's cozy kitchen!

Amazing fresh bread at your table..ordered shrimp nachos, pizza was perfection..ALL was fresh and flavorful..wait staff were friendly...

I love the artsy atmosphere - all of the artwork on the walls is for sale, by local artists, and is always changing so it's fun to take a look each visit! The staff is very friendly, and the food is amazing. It's a perfect lunch spot! I recommend getting a fresh strawberry lemonade.

Pam's food is consistently fresh and flavorful. I've eaten here many times and never been disappointed. I recommend it to people often.

We love the friendly service and excellent food. If you want fresh ingredients and healthy choices you must try this little spot. Choose to sit indoors or out on the patio!

Pam's kitchen has one of the best local lunches around. Homemade desserts and fresh strawberry lemonade. The little pleasures in life are at Pam's!

Recently I ordered a chicken salad. Wow, it really hit the spot. Tantalizing to the taste buds and not packed with gratuitous calories. I rank this as a great place to go when meeting friends or simply because you want a wonderful lunch.

We decided to give Pam’s another try, it had been since 2020 since we last ate there. My husband’s sandwich was so greasy it left the bread inedible and the chicken did not taste right. It was grilled chicken so we could not understand why there was so much grease. We spoke to the waitress, she spoke with someone, but nothing was done. On our way out my husband spoke to the owner and again nothing was done. His attitude was very unprofessional. We will not go back.

I was there in the spring San Antonio weather and it was so peaceful and beautiful to sit at the patio. They have a real strawberry lemonade (with free refills) to die for. I had a Hawaiian sandwich. It was great!

OMGOSH! Why haven't we eaten here before? Love the little bag of bread that you get when you arrive. The rocket salad was awesome! Loved the egg on top. I had the shrimp tacos, which were fabulous, but VERY spicy. The Italian cake was moist and delicious with coconut and a cream cheese frosting. Cannot wait to return!

A very good lunch spot. This is an order at the counter type of place and while they bring the food to your table we were never sure if that service including re-filling your tea glass so we did it ourselves, no problem. The soups and sandwiches were very good, making us want to try more of the menu. The cupcakes were a highlight, especially the strawberry shortcake cupcake. A great value for the money. We'll be back for lunch and cupcakes.

My husband and I randomly stopped by here on a Friday evening. The outside looked quaint and there were quite a few people there, so we thought it would be a good place to eat. The hostess sat us down and within five minutes told us that she had made a mistake and that we couldn't sit there after all because it was a reserved table. She moved us to a booth right beside the bathrooms and kitchen area. We ordered two salads that seemed appetizing from the descriptions. Mine was a pear pecan gorgonzola salad. My husband had a thai salad. My salad came without the cheese and with oil vinegrette salad dressing. The salad did not have any flavor at all, if its going to have an oil vinegrette dressing I would think that the salad itself would be packed with flavor. I asked the server to add the cheese and she did, but since we were next to the kitchen I could see that she went right to the block of cheese and placed her hands directly onto the cheese and cut it off and placed it with her hands onto my salad. I know that she had just been picking up dishes off of other peoples tables. She never added the cheese to my husbands salad and his dressing was terrible! The beef on top was cold as well. We just wanted to get our check and go. Honestly, I never write these reviews, but that was the worst food I have ever had in my life, We could not understand why anyone was there. The food was far over priced as well. It seems like they are trying to be upscale, but the food does not match the price. I doubt that it just happend to be that we ordered the two worst dishes on the menu. On a side note, I did order a cream of asparagus soup, and it was fairly good. Do not be tricked! The food looks good in writing only.

I found the food here to be of poor taste and quality. Had the lettuce wraps which were overly salty and way too greasy. Then had the Shrimp Mojo de Ajo and it too was greasy and over seasoned as well as the sauted onions. The service was good as they did tak eteh lettuce wraps off my bil. The outside patio is nice if you can do it on a cool evening and the music does provide a nice vibe with Bob playing in the background but this one is definitely as pass...Sorry Pam

Went on a Saturday night and enjoyed this place very much. Wife had the beef curry, which was delicious. I had the stacked enchiladas without a fried egg topping they tout and the taste was very fresh. Craft beer selection was awesome, and wife’s lemon drop martini datapoint was enjoyed very much. Service was prompt and efficient as well.

Pam's Patio is busy for lunch for so many good reasons! And it is also great for dinner with a different menu!!!

I took my grandaughter for lunch and it wasw wonderful! Great soups and bread! We really enjoyed it. They have a great lunch menu.

The waiters are great and pizza wonderful! The Caesar salad is not great but the pizza does make up for it! A cool place for a business lunch or a casual day/night with friends. We will return!

Great family owned restaurant. Lives the fresh strawberry lemonade. Each member in party had something different. I enjoyed the tomato basil soup, husband had the chicken sandwich and daughter had a Thai salad. All it's were delicious. Their homemade bread is awesome! This restaurant is a hidden gem! Love this place!

This IS a family owned small local restaurant. The owners are always there. Very friendly & welcoming. Their children work the restaurant too. Fantastic to dine "al fresco" style. The food at Pam's is flavorful & delicious. My favorite picks are; Salad: Spinach strawberry/tangerine with vinaigrette. Soup: Tortilla soup, #1 pick for me out of 4 different restaurants I really enjoy tortilla soup at. Sandwiches are good & fresh (*pay extra for grilled sandwich) which I think should be no xtra cost. Their Guadalajara chalupa is excellent. I usually add chicken & ditch the onions ... good portion too. The mango salsa is superb. The menu changes for dinner & now they are even open for Saturday breakfast! Not hungry? Take a desert. They are gooood! Not open on Sun or Mon.

A few friends and I stopped by this place after work to catch up and hang out a bit. We sat inside, but there is an outdoor patio when the weather permits. Apparently it is a local favorite, as the bar filled up quickly. I would describe the decor as kitschy Mexican- very bright wall colors and wall decor. We sampled a couple of appetizers (pizza and nachos- the pizza was better), and the beer and wine. The prices are a bit on the high side. The service from our young waiter was very good- attentive without being intrusive. It did become rather loud inside, but was the level was tolerable. If I could, I would give it 3.5 circles, with the service rating placing the other factors above 3 circles.

food was excellent. glass of wine was served at less than half the glass for $8. ouch. guacamole was tasty. shrimp cocktail had a full onion chopped ittybitty in the scrumptious juice. not my type of place. too loud to carry on a conversation without almost shouting.

We visit Pam's frequently for dinner. The food is very good, the prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of parking. Weather permitting, the patio is very nice! The wine and beer list have something for everyone's taste.

Sandwich, we ordered was over flooded with Siracha sauce and was extremely spicey for our palette. Additionally, we ordered turkey sandwiches to go with hardly any turkey in them.

One of the best restaurants in San Antonio. Grilled salmon sandwich is amazing! As is anything else on the menu.

Had lunch Saturday, as always the food was very good. Right behind our table the owner dropped some dishes, he apparently left some part of the spill on the floor. The next customer a 20 something young lady walked across the spill and it took her feet right out from under her. She fell very hard and hit her head on the corner of the table right next to us. My husband got up immediately and helped her, she was dazed and holding the side of her head that hit the table. We helped her up and she went outside to her table very embarrassed and in pain. She stayed out there holding her head and crying. I told the owner, but I could tell he was not interested. Finally my husband went to Pam and she acted like she knew nothing about it and would send her husband to the young lady. When we left my husband talked with the young lady, the owners never came up to her, never asked how she was doing nothing!!!! We were highly disappointed how this was handled. We will never eat there again. It was like if they did not acknowledge her, she would go away. Have to add, after the girl fell, two of the workers cleaning up after her were laughing.

Regulars! We love Pam's and have made this a regular dinner stop for us for 12 years now. The food is amazing, the owners and their family members that run the place truly care about the experience from the service to the menu options to the excellent flavors. They have an eclectic and delicious wine menu and craft beers on tap. And if you ask for changes to the menu items, no problem! Don't forget to try the strawberry lemonade!

This place is very cute and trendy! They have a good menu. The Asian chicken sandwich is very tasty. The best thing ever is the zucchini soup. I was hesitant to try it at first, but I am soooo glad I did! Dipping the flat bread into is...YUM! Always very crowded so don't plan on romancing anyone here unless they love good food!

We met with a dear family friend for an enjoyable lunch at Pam’s. We both had chicken salads she had a turkey guacamole sandwich. The chicken on my wife’s Cesar with grilled chicken had “the best grilled chicken” she had tasted in years. Just the right amount of grilling and spices we couldn’t quite figure out but oh so tasty! My Asian chicken salad was smothered in roasted almonds, so good, and had their Asian dressing which had just the right amount of spice to get my attention. Very busy for a Saturday lunch, but the food is the reason for sure! The patio is lovely but hey, it’s August in Texas, so we ate inside.

I love the food and know the family. Everything they have here is high quality. Very tasty and fresh. also, it's a Great Date place!

First time visiting this restaurant....what a surprise. A very eclectic menu. Outstanding quality and a very nice wine selection. Our server Kevin was terrific, very attentive and was able to accommodate numerous menu requests....always with a smile. I definitely plan to return.

Was it the sandwich I ordered, the appetizer of bean and cheese nachos, or that I came here for lunch instead of dinner. After reading the various reviews I was ready for some mouth watering meats and artisan breads with savory tastes and bold flavors. I think I was oversold. The bean and cheese nachos were totally flat and a little overdone. A very poor bargain for $9.00. The Reuben was steaming hot and nicely stuffed for a women's league Sunday sandwich brunch. I had expected, however, a couple hunks of wide cut artisan pumpernickel crammed full of bold garlicky corned beef. What I got was a rather plain square loaf pumpernickel, a mediocre serving of some very mild corned beef, and some mild but likable kraut. With pickle spear, fruit pico de gallo, and some chips, another poor bargain at $11.00. Probably my fault that I was expecting a scrumptious deli-style sandwich and some spicy guacamole topped bean and cheese nachos. My wife had told me that this was a chick's place, but I just had to try it myself. She was right. This place is more akin to the old Scrivener's soup, salads, sandwiches and tea for blue hairs rather than for the hard working stevedore types from the docks in NY City that feast on bulging ginders with fist size wads of meat for the healthy appetite and sated by places like Katz's deli in NY. Would that we had a sandwich place like that here. Pam, or whomever it was that I met inside was welcoming, bright and cheery. And I may understand the reason for the restaurant's following. It just did not happen for me today as I hoped it would. Made my wife all cranky and full of I told you so's which is always enjoyable to boot. Better luck next time . . . maybe.

Had the full salmon sandwich, and it was HUGE. A half would have been plenty, when combined with a soup. A side of bread with a cup of the gumbo soup were perfect additions.

I love Pam's Patio Kitchen--the salads and sandwiches are great at lunch. Take note the lunch and dinner menus are completely different (and different price ranges). Lunch will run about $9 and dinner about $25. The torta valencia is my favorite sandwich--very filling and great taste. If you like salmon, go for it on one of the salads--you won't be disappointed. The only thing I can complain about is the gratuitous Obama statue near the cash register--why do we need to bring (bad) politics into (good) food. Let's just put the statue away and focus on the food!

Great little "neighborhood" joint. You will be surrounded by locals who KNOW this place. I know this because the owner and chef came out onto the patio and were greeting many other tables BY NAME! Very impressive! Don't miss the chance to sit on the patio. Such a nice vibe and the restaurant is situated such that the sun sets on the backside of the place so you're in the shade on the patio. Food is amazing! All 4 of us had something different and ALL LOVED it. You can't go wrong. It also looks to be BYOB as I saw another couple bring some wine and they brought them out glasses. Highly recommended!

had the Hawaiian spicy sandwich and it was delicious! The chips and mango salsa was also very good. Glad I came here. Pleasant atmosphere.

If you are looking for a fun, local cafe with an exceptional menu, check out Pam's Patio. The food is fresh and fabulous with relaxed, friendly ambiance. Portions are ample and prices are reasonable given the quality of cuisine. This is a popular place - so come early before the busy lunch crowd.

I don't usually write reviews for lunch venues, but Pam's is so special and unique that I wanted to provide my thumbs up! We have gone to Pam's several times for lunch when we have been in San Antonio visiting our son and daughter-in-law. Most recently, we stopped for lunch before heading to the airport. It is a very comfortable setup with a large outside patio area. Unfortunately, in January, it was a bit too cool to be outside. You order from the counter and the food is then brought to your table. Everything on the menu is wonderful. We have tried a number of the lunch entrees and each has been great. And, the desserts are to die for--try one of the cupcakes. Everyone working there is pleasant and helpful. This is simply an amazing lunch dining experience. It is well worth the visit--you will not be disappointed. It does get busy at lunch time. They also serve dinner in the evening, but we have only been for lunch!

This is our neighborhood restaurant. We have never had a bad meal. Service is always great and the wine choices are both wonderful and reasonable!

Pam's is one of those rare places that has perfected a limited number recipes from each of several cultures and created a scrumptious world menu. Where else can you choose from Pad Thai OR street tacos in your choice of shrimp, chicken or bistec (mango plus two other salsas included with each) OR Italian pasta dishes OR a steak salad OR salmon OR any of several other delights, and be confident that your choice will be a great eating experience? It's a little out of the way (2-3 miles) from the "travelers" hotels of IH-10. But if you want a great break from cookie cutter chain restaurants and an unusual variety of dining choices, you will find Pam's to fulfill your needs.

This cozy restaurant is tucked into a strip shopping center on the corner of Wurzbach and Lockhill-Selma Roads in North San Antonio. It's easy to miss if you're just driving by, but don't do that if you like great food. They have sandwiches, salads and a selection of entrees and wines. Service is friendly and efficient. I always enjoy going here.

A neighborhood gem in a nicer-than-most strip mall at Wurzbach Road and Lockhill-Selma Road, owned and personally managed by Pam and husband David (he's the chef). Selections on the dinner menu are time-tested and consistent. Wine list, all chosen by David, always includes some good finds at modest prices. Popular, bustling place for lunch (mainly soups and sandwiches, but they're extraordinarily good). Service is friendly and quick. Outdoor patio is enjoyable in good weather.

We initially chose this restaurant because we thought it served brunch. Sadly they do not BUT their lunch was delicious. They serve a variety of sandwiches, soup, and salads. I had the roast red pepper sandwich. The bread was fresh and fluffy, the meat was tender, and the vegetables were savory. We will totally visit this place again.

Food, service, selection and atmosphere is just excellent everytime. Sitting on patio is fantastic, when weather isn't wet or hot.

I've never had a bad experience here. One of my favorite things about Pam's is that they offer gluten free pizza. I recommend the strawberry lemonade. Pam's also serves up a variety of salads, sandwiches, soups plus their newest addition; a bar. The vibe is very quaint, with paintings on the wall that you can buy and cool jams. There is also a patio available that adds to the great experience Pam's offers!

My wife and I have heard great things about Pam's so we decided to give it a shot for dinner. After being seated we were greeted with fresh, warm, focaccia bread, yum! Our server, Tony, took our drink orders while we perused the menu. I ordered the Thai Beef Salad which was excellent. Unfortunately, the same could not be said about my wife's Pad Thai, which was over sauced and greasy. Hey, it happens. While clearing the plates, Tony asked if my wife would like to have her barely touched meal to go. She told him that it wasn't very good and that she didn't want to take it with us. We ordered a black-bottom cup cake for dessert, which we enjoyed. Tony brought us our check and said that he had taken the Pad Thai off the bill because it wasn't enjoyable. I was shocked! No fight, no talking to the manager, it was just removed without us asking. Don't know if that's the policy or if it was Tony's decision but he's getting all the credit. We'll be back!

The menu is diversified to please everyone in your group. Friends of ours took us there tonight to catch up on life. We opted to eat outside and the setting and atmosphere was perfect. My honey selected the salmon and I chose the shrimp appetizer and strawberry pecan salad. We both left very happy. Be careful not to get too full on their absolutely yummy lemonade and bread! Great food, great company, and an inviting patio tucked away…what a blessing…we couldn't ask for more!

My husband and I had eaten dinner at Pam's several times, but last week I had the opportunity to go there for lunch. The salads, sandwiches, and soups were all delicious! Counter service made it easy for everyone to pay for their own meal without splitting tickets. The staff was very attentive with quick food delivery and refilling drinks. The carrot cake cupcake was a perfect way to top off a great lunch.

Pam's is always top notch when it comes to your meal. The only negative is how crowded it is at lunch time. Simply know that you'll wait unless you go early or late and all is well. Worth the wait, they do a fantastic job.

Been eating here once a month with a group of friends for a year now. The food, service, and casual atmosphere keep us coming back for more. I've tried almost every menu item and am never disappointed. Favorites include the salmon pomodoro; camarones al mojo de ajo (garlic shrimp); rasta pasta with grilled chicken; and the thai steak salad. Oh yes, the salmon tacos! Helpful, accomodating staff brings fresh bread to the table as you are seated and will adjust orders to your dietary needs. Rotating art displays enhance the experience.

Salads and sandwiches are outstanding. Turkey avacado sandwich is a favorite. Plenty of outdoor seating on patio.

We come to this restaurant approximately every 6 to 8 weeks. We do not get to eat out a whole lot during business hours, but when we do this is one of our top choices. The Asian chicken salad is excellent, the sandwiches are fantastic but best of all, Is the green chili soup. Unfortunately, they don't always have it. A great substitute is the tomato basil soup. The service here is great also I highly recommend finding your way to this restaurant!

This is one of my favorite sandwich establishments on the planet and I am not a sandwich guy. There is just something about the sandwiches at Pam's that is hard to describe. From the very first bite you realize that this is the definition of what a sandwich should taste like. I had the Mexican Torta with jalapeños on focaccia bread (highly recommend). I chose beef over turkey. Simply amazing. While standing in line to order do NOT overlook the cupcakes. I would drive the thirty miles from my house to Pam's just to eat what I believe are absolutely the best cupcakes on the planet. They had a new selection on my last visit. How does a key lime pie cupcake sound? Well I can tell you they are amazing. A very nice and moist cake topped off with a decadent cream cheese icing. As if this wasn't enough the cupcake was filled with a scrumptious key lime pie filling that sent the whole experience over the top. Add to the experience a very helpful and enthusiastic staff and you have the makings of a great dining experience. Still not convinced? Then throw in some of the best blues you have ever heard playing over the speakers that takes the coolness of Pam's Patio Kitchen to the moon and back. We will be back for sure.

Pam's Patio is tucked into the corner of a strip center. I likely would not have known about it but for a friend. I've since turned several others onto this great restaurant. I've been once for dinner and it was fantastic, but it's largely a lunch hot spot. They do sandwiches, soups, salads mostly for lunch, but nothing is boring or your typical fare. All made fresh right there. I love the chipotle chicken sandwich (hot grilled chicken breast on incredible foccacia bread with spinach, red onions and spicy dressing) served with just-fried chips and their own mango guacamole cup. Pam's also has homemade desserts. Sandwich and iced tea is about $11. Lunch service is efficient. You walk through the line and order and get your own drink (which I love) then they bring your food to you. Dinner is seated service. The decor features local artists (new display each month) and is cozy. Pam herself is usually working. Must try!

I love their food and I looked forward to returning for a real treat. Down to the cheese pizza, this place has ambiance, taste and decor! They could work on a smile or two as it seemed the young waitstaff were removed. I was also slightly disappointed they no longer carried Chai Tea Latte but had a FANTASTIC cup of Tom Kai Gai instead (coconut milk, chicken and lime soup).

You can’t go wrong with anything you order here (especially the Tortilla Soup.) Generous portions and wonderful flavors are du jour. What was such a disconnect for me though was the endless Tom Petty loop playing, way too loudly, from 11:00am 1:15pm. It would make sense in the evening when the bar area is alive, but looking around at the mostly over-35, (over-45??) female crowd, I felt a different music mix would’ve been more pleasant during lunch. Our group wanted to sit outside but the music was so loud we knew we’d have to work hard to hear each other talk. Again, the food is fantastic...perhaps just a blip with the music today.

My Reuben sandwich was perfect, and the potato soup included fresh bacon and cheese. The mango salsa tastes as good as it looks, but the homemade chips were not my thing. I was surprised at the long list of desserts. We chose the key lime tart, which was a perfect small dessert. The wait staff is friendly and attentive.

Chicken chipotle sandwich: my go-to lunch. Large enough so other 1/2 is for dinner. Soups: fabulous!

We liked our food once our order came. It just took awhile during the very crowded lunchtime hours. Get there early and secure yourself a table inside, especially now, while it’s so hot. I ordered the Asian Chicken salad which I would have preferred with less chicken. I mean most people probably want lots of meat, but I prefer more “salad”. The dressing was great. The Rueben was good too. I would go back if I’m in the area.

The shrimp cocktail is excellent; their eclectic menu is usually well done -- I have had good salmon, good Mexican, good Italian all at Pam's. Well thought out wine list--a bottle of wine wont kill you at Pam's. Most of the seats are on the patio so a day that is excessively hot, wait until after dark, and if it is raining try someplace else... the customers will all be crowded inside.

Our friend invited us to lunch, as he had been here before and really likes their Ruben sandwich. The first thing we noticed was the crowd! This is obviously a popular place. There is a main dining room, a secondary dining room, accessed via one or two stairs and an outdoor patio. Ceiling fans would make this area more comfortable, as SA is usually still warm at this time of year (and almost all-year around). What doesn't work very well is the long line that forms, between the counter and the doorway, and snakes between the booths and dining tables. The waitresses have to bob and weave in-between the conga line trying to order, to deliver the food. What is nice is that as you walk up to the counter you see the fresh food as they are, first, taking your order, and preparing salads. There is fragrant, rosemary focaccia bread, cut into pie-shaped wedges for you to sample. As your proceed down the line, drinks are ordered and self-served. They serve a delicious strawberry lemonade. Customers pay at the end of that line. There is another counter, with the kitchen beyond, in which you pick up utensils, real, not plastic, and as well as napkins. To the right of that counter, is a stack of take-out containers. A sign, outside the front door, announces that the restaurant is serving tomato basil, chili Poblano, and chicken tortilla soups. I selected the Poblano; my husband ordered the chicken tortilla. He said it was good, but not the best he has had. My soup was slightly spicy but lacked salt and perhaps some sour cream or Mexican crema. The Vietnamese chicken sandwich, according to my husband, was delicious. I ordered the Ruben, with Russian dressing, without Swiss cheese, pickled red onions on the side and a spicy, mango jalapeno relish. My sandwich was delicious. I could only eat half of mine. It might make more sense to order the half sandwich and either soup or salad. Each of the sandwiches comes with house-made tortilla chips. My husband didn't like his; I really liked the tortilla chips, which are really toasty, not greasy and not overly-salted. Other offerings include salads and desserts. Both a white and a chocolate cake were displayed. We tasted the carrot cake cupcakes. These were pretty good and I love a lot of cream cheese frosting. Dinner, for the three of us, cost $51.

Had an excellent experience. Thoroughly enjoyed the concept of the place although it took me a bit to figure out there were no servers (sitting outside). Anyway, I had an awesome salad made right in front of me and a bowl of delicious tortilla soup. I would definitely return. The cupcakes were awesome as well..

We have eaten here before when you used to put in your order at the counter and grab a seat. They have changed this since then. Now they have somebody to sit you and a regular server gets your order from your table. The quality of food has not changed, still very tasty and generous. A bit expensive as sandwiches run anywhere from $14-16.

The lunches are the best I have had in a long time. Great quality food. Choose anything on the menus you will not be dissapointed.

The quality, variety and friendly staff make this a great lunch or dinner spot. The patio is pleasant in the evening with a glass of wine. Desserts are sinful and well worth the calories. Strawberry lemonade is the best in town. Another great local restaurant to take friends and family for a casual, fun meal.

I've been going here on and off for about 4 years. I cannot believe the bad reviews about the food! Most the people who work there are friendly, but we did have a waiter once at night that was less than happy to be serving us and I'm pretty sure anyone else there that night. We all have off nights. But honestly, I have never had a bad meal there and cannot belive people have had bad food there. It's fresh and flavorful..definitely a little pricey, worth it though--check it out!

Absolutely the last time we will ever give this place a try for dinner. Several years ago we had given up after two visits resulted in an hour wait for our entrees which had been lost in the mass confusion in the kitchen. My wife had gone for lunch a couple of days ago and suggested we give Pam’s another try. She makes our reservation for 4. We arrive and they don’t have us down. The poor hostess “deer in the headlights” overwhelmed. A half dozen dirty tables, no one bussing while the owners chit chat with other seated guests. Time to punt! We depart unattended, to Milano’s which is a short walk in the same strip center for a lovely meal. We are done with Pam’s.

Have been here for casual meals as well as their fun wine tastings . If you skip dessert here, you are missing something wonderful !

Food was excellent. Nice atmosphere. A little eclectic with neat copper top tables and Star Trek episodes playing on the big screen. Had the lettuce wrap appetizers, shrimp tacos and Pad Thai and finished with key lime pie and a fudge muffin. All good. A little pricey but all good food Definitely coming back when in town.

We went to Pam's while visiting family in San Antonio. They suggested we try it because we were looking for clean, well prepared food. We were very pleased with the quality of the food. I had the tortilla soup and a salad that was very fresh. I also ate the guacamole dip and it was outstanding! We sat outside on the patio. It was a little chilly that night, but they had the portable laterns outside to help us stay comfortable. If I lived in San Antonio, I would definitely frequent this restaurant. I hope to return there on our next visit!

Lunch on the patio at Pam's with good friends is one of life's small pleasures. Lunch menu is soup, salad, and sandwiches. All are house made and delicious. I love their Ruben--it's hot and juicy with lots of pastrami. All sandwiches come with house made chips and a yummy mango salsa. The strawberry spinach salad is also a favorite. Don't miss their strawberry lemonade! And if you have room, all their desserts are house made too. Dinner is much more upscale. There is table service and elegant entrees. The patio is romantic for a dinner with your sweetheart.

Very reliable- very well prepared dishes. We have had dinner there well over 20 times and have never been disappointed. Salmon Pomodoro is excellent as are the Chicken Tinga tacos and several of the pizzas. Very simple wine list- not over priced but represents well. Would recommend to everyone!

Pam's Patio was buzzing when we visited, nearly every table & booth filled both inside and outside. Our order was quickly taken at the counter and we found seating in the quiet back area. My Torta Valencia sandwich and cup of tortilla soup was absolutely fantastic. My daughters "Melanie's ADULT Pizza was a hit as well. The walls were adorned with artwork from local artists to include world traveler & photographer Hank Arriazola, aka "Motohank." Pam's Patio is a more than a place to enjoy a wonderful meal, its is a destination for art lovers as well. Well done, we will be back. One last word, friendly staff!

Cute place terrible service. Pizza was good but not overly amazing. I love their art collection on the walls. $$$$ be prepared to spend money!

I have quite a few food intolerances, so it's always good to find a place to accommodate. We found this restaurant on the Find Me Gluten Free App and decided to give it a try. It was delightful . We were promptly seated and all of my questions were answered. We ate (pad Thai, curry soup, chips and salsa and a meal made just for me), enjoyed our food and most importantly, I did not have any adverse reactions to the food. :)Next time we're in San Antonio, we will definitely dine at Pam's Patio.

We eat here regularly. The food is great and the owners friendly. The wine list is a great value, with the identical wines 25% cheaper than other restaurants. Try the deserts, especially the black bottom cupcakes.

Had lunch here last week with a group of friends. Order at the counter and they bring it to the table. I had the Torta Valencia (sliced Beef, Melted Provolone, Guacamole, Lettuce, Tomato, & Marinated Red Onion) sandwich which was very good. It comes with homemade tortilla chips, which were much too crispy/hard + salsa and a pickle. They are known for their desserts (cakes and cookies), though I did not try any. Honestly, prices are a little high. Add an ice tea and dessert to the sandwich and you will easily be at about $20 including tax.

Excellent preparation of classic Thai dishes. Their curry was delicious. The waitstaff is very knowledge and friendly. Owner was present and a delight to meet! Relaxed environment and lovely outdoor seating. Cons: No set children's menu, but waitstaff had many options for children that could be made on demand. Menu needs more vegetarian options. Bread in bag is charming, but olive oil or some spice would make it more appealing.

We met friends for lunch and it was enjoyable. You can sit on the patio or inside. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had the nachos and they were good. Most of my friends had the sandwiches and really loved them. It was a nice place to meet friends for lunch.

I work close to Pam's and would LOVE to go for lunch. But the last two times the salmon was so salty I found myself craving water all day and to top it off the serving is actually SMALLER and COSTS MORE! I won't be going back. It's not worth the cost for a lunch, or salty flavor.

I have eaten at Pams several times and have never been disappointed. The Stacked enchilada plate is awesome. The salad with shrimp is so delicious. The shrimp was so tender and juicy. They also start you off with homemade pita bread. The presentation of the food is beautiful. Great staff as well.

This place has quite a following and is very busy at lunch. I wish I had had a chance to really review the menu but I was holding the table for my friends while they stood in line to order so I just picked something quickly. My sandwich was very good. My friend's nachos looked great but were just meh. I would like to go back when they aren't so busy and try something else.

Love, love Pam's Patio for the unique offerings of VERY fresh ingredients for sandwiches and other dishes. Also great soups and salads. In the shopping center at Wurzbach Rd. and Lockhill-Selma.
Yummy but chaotic
We went to Pam's today for lunch- its a cute little restaurant in a strip mall at Lockhill-Selma and Wurzbach. The weather was nice today but my boyfriend didn't want to eat outside so we sat down at a booth inside. I found it confusing to figure out how to order- I initially walked up to the registers and had to be redirected. The layout of the restaurant is really crowded but I think that the decor and color scheme were fun. I ordered the grilled chipotle chicken and my boyfriend ordered a jalapeno, pepperoni and meatball pizza. They give you focaccia which I found to be okay- the pieces varied a lot on their thickness and I like the thicker pieces better. Almost immediately after we ordered the place became a madhouse: the line was wrapping around the restaurant making it even harder to walk around in the restaurant. The brought my food before my boyfriends- which I thought was odd. My sandwich was WONDERFUL though- the chicken was fire grilled and the chipotle mayo was delicious. All of the sandwiches come with a pickle spear, some tortilla chips that are fried in house, a sweet and spicy fruit salsa, and an orange. When they finally brought my boyfriend's pizza it was wrong so we sent it back and it took them FOREVER to get him back a new one because they had gotten so busy. After about 30 mins they brought him his pizza which he thought was really really fabulous. I think that in the future we will call in an order and eat it at home because we really liked the food but thought the restaurant was hectic.
