I've been going to Panda Inn since I was a child. The quality of the food served is hard to find anywhere else. Now as a man, me and my wife enjoy going here. It may not look like the best outside or even inside, but if you want some of the best Chinese food you've ever eaten, it's definitely worth a visit!

Fast food.

This family owned restaurant is located outside the back gate of Fort Sam Houston, and they have been in business for over 30 years. It's not much to look out on the outside, but the food is very good. It is reasonably price, the service is great and the customer service is exceptional. We have two favorite dishes. Their Moo Goo Gai Pan is very good, meaty and seasoned perfectly every time. My husband's favorite was the Chinese Style Roast Chicken. This chicken is wonderful. They serve a half chicken portion, so you can eat both the white and dark meat. He would eat the dark meat and I would eat the white. We started eating here for over 30 years, but since it is not located close to me, I had not been here in a while. In fact I was surprised that it was still in business. So recently I made some time to go over there and yes the food was a good as ever. It's not much to look at on the outside, but it is nice and clean inside, and the food is very good! I think it is one of San Antonio's best kept secret. Enjoy!

I have been eating at this restaurant for many years, and Panda Inn far surpasses the many other Chinese restaurants I have eaten at. This is a family run restaurant with the Grandfather still cooking at over 90 years old. Most Chinese restaurants I have tried lack the authentic and correct cooking of many dishes such as Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, or even simple favorites like fried rice. I highly recommend Panda Inn. I have never had a bad meal there. You will not be disappointed.

Daily specials were great. I had the lemon chicken. Good quality food, good quantity. I will be going back again.

My family has been going to Panda Inn since before I was born. This has been our go to place for good Chinese Food. This is a family owned business and grandpa is still cooking in the back. The decor is dated, but if you don't get hung up on that then you will truly enjoy your visit. I no longer live in S.A. but make it a point to stop here when I am in town. fyi They are closed on Sundays and between 2-5p.

This place is a little hole in the wall!! They have great crab ragoons they are huge along with their eggrolls!!! Absolutely love them!! Also they are reasonably priced! You can dine in and they are nice an clean even thought outside looks run down!! I would never have thought to try it if it wasnt so close to me!! Its a must try!

Panda Inn.... Possibly the Worst Chinese food I've Ever Tasted.... Recently my co-worker treated me to Panda Inn, a little Chinese spot conveniently located near Fort Sam. As I hadn't dined on Chinese Food in nearly a year, I jumped at the opportunity for a "Free Lunch". He seemed rather excited that it was Chinese day in the workplace rotation and handed me the menu. I checked out what the other coworkers were ordering and settled on the egg drop soup and the combination Lo-mein, which is hard to mess up... or so I thought.. The food arrived in the standard white tiny box crammed with noodles and seemed like it would be tasty, but I was wrong. The noodles were extremely tasteless and greasy and the meat was flavorless. I poked around the box and saw multiple shrimp that had the "dirt line" going down the back and the one thing I despise with my seafood is dirty shrimp.... It was just disgusting... every other shrimp I flipped over was not properly cleaned. I hate wasting people's money but I was turned off by the shrimp and couldn't eat the rest. If I were at home and had a pet to slide it to under the table I wouldn't have because honestly as greasy as it was, I didn't feel as if it was proper for canine consumption. The soup was just as unappealing and I had to offer it up to the trash can within a few bites. I for one love Asian food and being stationed overseas allowed me to taste some tasty cuisines. Just because it's standard (cheap) Chinese food, the owners shouldn't let the skill in preparing recipes decline. Simple food prep goes along way and I for one eat with my eyes... the last thing I want peeping at me are dirty shrimp not properly deveined and I've never had these issues with Pei Wei or similar establishments. All in all, a mediocre effort and I am surprised by the. rating this place has and even more surprised my coworkers love this place. Perhaps I'm a Food Snob or just like quality but a Stale Peanut Butter Sandwich would have been more filling and healthier. Won't be ordering again... Ms. Foodie

How did a photograph of a hotel room ever get posted for a small Chinese neighborhood restaurant? Hello!

The place does not look great on the outside but the foos and service is outstanding. Go there about once per month. They know us and what he order. Drinks and soup are there about the time we sit down.

I ordered a chicken mushroom dinner, and it was delicious. I am returning here again to try other dishes.

Very helpful & friendly staff. Casual atmosphere and food is good and reasonably priced. Enjoy our time here while visiting our son in San Antonio. Generous portions with take home for another meal. Note: the website on TripAdvisor is not correct for this restaurant. They do not have a website.

The Pu Pu Platter of Appetizers were very good. That was a meal in itself for the girl watching her waistline. The rice was good two later and the Happy Family kept well too. The shrimp delight was just that DELIGHTFUL. All to go and served the party of 5 for 3 days. Can't ask for more for less.

It was super hot!! AC problems? The restaurant was not very clean. Not very many lunch special choices. Food was ok, not great. Egg roll tasted funky. No wonton crispies...

My first time here. Server was friendly and attentive. Lunch menu items were moderately priced. Food was hot and tasty. My sweet and sour chicken came with three sauces for me to choose from. Egg roll was huge and good fried rice was good. Would probably give them a 3.5 on my first visit but I rounded up. Would love to try them again.

Takeout. The good…large quantity for price. General chicken…the only taste was sweetness (says spicy-nope). Spouse had kungpao - nope, no spice, no taste. Egg rolls were tasty. Probably not next time…try one of the Korean for take out next time.

I was with a big, birthday group. Everyone appeared to have enjoyed their meals. The service was friendly. Overall a pretty good experience..

First time experience: Good food, plenty of it. Not expensive. I was impressed, and I will be going back. Delicious! (The decor is right out of the '70s, but you're not eating the decor, right?)
Fresh Food
Food was being made constantly so it was very fresh. People were great but my wife said restroom was pretty bad. Shocked me because every thing else was fantastic.....
