We stayed at both the Sheraton and Hilton - both of which have ridiculously expensive breakfast options. We both enjoyed what we got both mornings and got plenty of food for half the price. You also get to enjoy sitting out with a beautiful view of the boats while you eat.

I stumbled onto this place by accident, but it was so yummy, I forgot where I was originally headed to! Clean and airy, with lots of food choices. Somehow I managed to NOT get a pic of the menu. 😳😬 Indoor and outdoor seating. Large variety of drink choices. Soft drinks, juices, beer and wine. Wine comes in splits or full size bottles. They have Prosecco too! Very friendly staff. Right near a pretty marina - the scent of the water is so relaxing. Grabbed a reuben and a nice sauvignon blanc to take to my room. Both were delicious - even if the reuben DID have Velveeta on it! I will definitely be visiting this place again!

A great little place between the two Sheraton towers here at the San Diego Marina. A good selection of breakfast and lunch items, a great/friendly owner and staff and a beautiful small outdoor seating area where you have a magnificent view.

We were staying on a boat at the marina and the first order of business is coffee - this place was a short walk from Sunroad and the perfect place to start our day! They had three varieties of coffee and a great breakfast menu, plus we enjoyed sitting out on the patio. The bacon egg and cheese on a bagel was delicious!

Good sandwiches and wraps when at the harbor. They have many other options too like pizza, grilled sandwiches, ice cream, soup, coolers with many drinks to pick from, candy bars, chips, and even necessities like sunglasses if you lost or forgot yours.

We ate here many times during our stay at The Sheraton Towers. It was a less expensive option to the hotel restaurants as we didn't have a car. The food was very good and we enjoyed eating on their patio. They also gave a military discount which is alway appreciated.

Great place lunch and breakfast..make sure to say hi to Najia and get a welcoming smile!

Good prices, quick service, good food. Enjoyed the people and quiet seating inside or outside.

Conveniently located close to the hotels this provides a good alternative to the restaurants for lunch. Good selection, reasonable price and decent quality. Worth looking out for.

I stopped in one morning for a quick breakfast. Oh my goodness ... the staff could not have been nicer. I also enjoyed a warm, made-from-scratch sausage, egg and cheese on an English muffin. I would recommend stopping by for breakfast or lunch. It is located on the pathway between the two Sheraton Hotel towers.

Great alternative to hotel breakfast/meals! Lovely view and just a short walk from our hotel. Stocks a few essential items too!

I met my friend coming in at the airport and we walked thru the parking structure at Terminal 2 to Spanish Landing Park. We then walked to the Sheraton property and we felt like we were sneaking into a restricted place as we walked around the marina of expensive boats. We came out to this wonderful deli and ordered beers and sandwiches to have on the patio. It was just such a wonderful experience to be there and we felt privileged somehow. So I'm giving it the good rating just for the ambience of the place and the quiet feeling of being along the marina.

Visited twice for lunch while at a conference. Excellent service, nice outdoor seating and great food. Thai chicken salad and BLT were both great with fresh ingredients. Word of warning - watch out for thieving seagulls!!!

we stayed at the Sheraton hotel , this a very short walk to the deli , which offered a very good menu for breakfast at extremely reasonable rates , service was excellent ,with lovely views over the marina

My husband had lunch here 3 days in a row and I had it 2 days in a row and a breakfast there as well. Nice sandwiches and good soup. My husband loved the paninis. I thought the salad was a little overpriced and the breakfast greasy. They are the picture of efficiency on a crowded day filled with conference goers and being one of the only places to eat. Also a good place to get alcohol or other necessities for your trip.

It’s so comforting to have a well-cooked breakfast after long flight. The location is a convenient 5 mins walk from Sheraton San Diego hotel. And I really like the Kona coffee

We arrived just as the restaurant was closing. The owner came out and asked if we wanted anything before he closed, which I thought was very friendly. This nice elderly Italian gentlemen helped us with our order. He made our sandwiches fresh, right in front of us by using high quality products. This isn't your basic subway sandwich. The sandwiches tasted like they were made right from Italy. The owner is VERY friendly and accommodating. This deli is located on the marina side, underneath San Diego Speed Boat Adventures on Harbor Island. It is somewhat difficult to find, but so worth the search! Definitely stop in and say Hi to Papanani if you're on Harbor Island. Tip: Pastrami is fresh, made hot (or cold) and goes great with Mustard on Rye.

Nice breakfast on the water. Sanwiches and Salads are great, Cold 6 pack of IPA's for the price of one at the sheraton.

Great friendly service great tasting food huge portions for not a lot of money.Large variety of foods.Relaxing view of bay.Must try.

This lovely deli somehow survived the onslaught of dancers and dance parents that descended the last week of June 2022 for a dance Nationals competition. They worked hard and were extremely polite despite how many grill orders came in during lunchtime. The kids loved the ice cream and their freshly made to-go salads were great also. If you do not have a car they also offer a large selection of beer and wine in addition to snacks, bottled water and sundry items like Advil, Benadryl, etc. There is a nice outdoor seating area overlooking the active marina.

Location, location, libation. Awesome find just a short walk from our hotel. Sandwiches, soups, snacks and beverages. Friendly and welcoming. Glad we stepped in to mom and pop in the middle of metropolis. Papaandnanis.

The people are very friendly, their sub sandwiches are made fresh and are large enough to share. They also serve breakfast

Eaten here 2 times while I was in town and staying on Harbor Island. Their sandwiches are reasonably priced and taste great. The folks behind the counter have always been very friendly and nice!

This little deli is close to hotels on Harbour island, so easy to reach if you want Breakfast. great to eat outside overlooking the Harbour.

Excellent alternative to expensive hotel food, and much better quality! Great little walk along the path and set right on the water. Perfect lunch!

We were staying at the Sheraton tower adjacent to the Freedom Boat Club. The staff was awesome as was the selection. The prices were 1/2 of what they are at the Marina Market Place. The omelets were awesome. The service and friendly staff sure made it a place we will come back to. They have a small patio outside the FBC ramp. And they sell ICE!!

Honestly, the food is great, but between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm the wait is in excess of 40 minutes. Even when you call it in, the wait is still intolerable. I was there for a conference, and barely made it back in time. I can't believe this is the first time this has happened to them. More staff and a more organized workflow would help immensely.

We stayed at the Sheraton for 3 nights and thankfully had the deli to eat at while we were there. The sandwiches we tried were all really good and at a good price. It was just a short walk away so it was easy to grab a bite to eat and pick up drinks for the evening, way better than hotel prices! I would highly recommend this deli to anyone in the area as a quick place to grab some great grub.

Great sandwiches. Get one that's not cooked, and you'll be on your way fast! Super-nice owner who takes care in his product.

I did not eat there but the deli food looked delicious. I am vegan but they did have beer, snacks and other items for sale. Right out the door from the hotel. Very nice people who run it.

We were attending the Care Net Pregnancy Center Conference in September. The conference was in the main Sheraton Marina building, but our room was in the Bay Tower which was a five minute walk along the marina. We found Papananis on our first day as we walked over to the main building to eat was was sure to be a ridiculously overpriced breakfast. We stopped instead at Papananis and were greeted by the wonderful and kind LuLu. We split a breakfast burrito...plenty for two! The prices are a little high, but not when compared with everywhere else on the water. The portions are very generous. We ended up having our breakfast here all week, and a lunch sandwich one day also. Love LuLu...her smile just makes the place that much better!

Casual easy simple deli. Sitting outside next to the harbor makes the simple sandwiches even better.

Stopped numerous times when I stayed at the Sheraton. The prices for items at the deli are much cheaper! They even have good coffee if you aren't a Starbucks fan. The service was great, my deli sandwiches fresh and tasty and the view is nice as well. Great selection, too.

Similar to other reviews, their hot sandwich is tasty. The store also sells salad, fruits, chips, drinks, snacks, and muffins. It's a 5 min. walk from the Sheraton San Diego Bay Marina Tower on the boating dock on the way to the Bay Tower (head towards the Marina pool area vs. the main entrance). French fries are on the menu this week but will not be available for purchase until next week.

Nice place near the Sheridan to have breakfast. Very good omelets. Quick service as well. Also has a nice ice cream bar for a quick snack.

Friendly staff, clean and fresh. Soda was only $1.35/can...nice when its hot and you're out walking around and don't want to pay $4 at the hotel!

We happened to find this place as being near the Sheraton Marina Hotel where a convention was being held, and are we GLAD we did! This little deli has the best hot pastrami sandwich since the authentic Epstein’s in the Bronx more than 30 years ago! The toasted sandwich with pastrami, cheese, tomato and lettuce is juicy, tender, crunchy, and absolutely delicious. Wife also found the breakfast omelet outstandingly delicious. In fact, we came back twice more for the same. Papanani’s is on the waterfront, and one can sit inside or out, looking at the Bay. We will be back to this place when we are anywhere near San Diego next time, well worth driving an hour to get here!

we really loved this place. we got done fly boarding and were kinda hungry. stumbled onto this place and we thought it was excellent. the Panini's were toasted to perfection. I can't believe no one has reviewed this place. after all it is next to a pretty nice hotel. all in all, the wife and I really liked this place. there are not to many places that you can get a Panini like you would make it at home. this is one of those places. really good food!!!!

Had club sandwich really good.Loved it because on the marina listen in on boaters conversation wish I lived on the water.price on sandwich fare.

This is the classic hole in the wall and the best place to eat "at" the Sheratons. It's on the path between the two towers.

This place was our go-to during a conference in November. Did breakfast daily, lunch most days and dinner once or twice. The lunchtime rush when whole committees would get out and descend on them never ruffled the staff and even though they took your order and payment in about a minute and a half they never made you feel like they were passing you off. By the endof week one Samantha knew many by name of would ask if you wanted the usual lunch or drink (they do a great brewed iced tea with a squirt of lemonade) good prices, selection, UNBEATABLE VIEW on the patio, and the nicest staff ever. Many locals eat there which tells you a great deal.

Reasonable little deli between 2 Sheraton Hotels. Sandwiches, sundries, bottle beer all available. The girl at the counter warned us about the aggressive seagulls. A guy got up to get a napkin and the seagull stole his sandwich!

We have been to Papanini’s before and decided to stop again for breakfast. This is a nice little spot right off the Marina. Our meals were very good. Plan to stop again before we leave San Diego.

Stopped by here twice for breakfast - prices more reasonable than the Hotel and nice variety of things to order.

An oasis of reasonably priced and very tasty lunch and breakfast items, plus generous ice cream cones, with a little patio overlooking the harbor and indoor seating with kitchy decor.

Okay sandwiches but great for convenience to the Sheraton. We stocked up on water and snacks here so weren't tempted to use the over priced mini bar in the hotel. The staff were friendly and made the sandwiches quickly. Seemed to be a local favorite. I thought it was a nice handy little shop.

Great deli at the Marina that is cheaper than the hotels. Food is made to order and all sandwiches tasted good. Service was great and wait time was good considering they make everything to order. Will try breakfast next time we are there.

Upon arriving in the morning, our hotel room wasn't ready so we walked along the water and stumbled onto this little deli. We each ordered a sandwich, which were amazing. Piled high with meat!

PapaNinis serves great sandwiches and breakfast. Just a short walk along the marina. A bit pricier than a convenience store but a lot cheaper than the Sheraton's restaurants. Good place to buy some snacks, ice cream, beer, etc.

Located on Harbor Island, between the two Sheraton towers and adjacent to the marina, this is a great alternative to the nearby pricey hotel restaurant breakfasts and lunches. Everything is freshly made to order by a friendly and efficient staff. Nice selection of carryout snacks and beverages, too.

The salad and wine was tasty and fairly priced. The customer service was friendly and efficient. The view is pretty overlooking the docked boats.

While staying at the Sheraton we walked past this shop multiple times prior to stopping and having an amazing chicken salad sandwich on sourdough and tasty gyro. They also have snacks and brews. An economical and tasty way to grab a bite and gaze at the marina, or bay.

A nice deli by the marina. Reasonable prices. They have pre made salads that they will add shrimp/chicken etc to for your liking.

This place looks pretty basic but they have very good sandwiches, hot and cold, and are friendly folks. Also open for breakfast which is convenient and quick if you are in the area

As a recent guest at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, Papanani’s Deli was recommended as a good breakfast stop. It is located on the marina side between the 2 Sheraton properties. During the week we tried everything from the breakfast burritos to the breakfast sandwiches and omelets. All were prepared quickly and were delicious. The coffee was hot and plentiful! Portions are large and prices are better then those found at the hotels. Outside seating offers a chance to see all of the boats and enjoy the favorable San Diego weather. Bass, the owner greeted us each day with a laugh and a smile (sorry about the itemized receipts Bass!) We were thankful for the opportunity to visit Papanani’s will pass this along as our recommendation of the week!

After a long day at the zoo, came by to grab a quick dinner. Made to order sandwiches and assortment of drinks that we grabbed to go back across the street to harbor side and watch the sunset.. Was convenient to hotel (Harbor Hilton) , with good , reasonably priced food and easy to get back to harbor for the views.

Good reasonable priced foods. Friendly staff and a lovely view at the Harbor Island Marina. Eggs to ornery and nice variety of pastries.

Ate here a couple of times. Very good food and reasonable prices.

I had a great breakfast there the first time, california omelet and hash browns are delicious! Just yesterday I came a little late and breakfast was over, I had a ham and cheddar grilled sandwich and potato salad it was very good and the prices are reasonable for the area. The Best part is....I met the most amazing person there, a guy named Joey, it was the most enlightening conversation I've had in my 31 years as a flight attendant. I will never forget this amazing person and will look for him whenever I come back. Thanks Joey, Susan

Not a typical day for SD. Cold, dreary, and rainy. Put on my raincoat and walked down to the marina. There was Pananani’s Open and welcoming. I had the veggie omelette with sausage and hash browns. Fantastico! I sat in the deli looking out to the marina reminiscing of old times. Oh yeah the pastries and other baked goods are FRESH baked. Stop by! You won’t be disappointed. Cheers!

Nice people with a great menu featuring a large variety of breakfast and lunch items. We ordered at the counter and minutes later the food was ready. I was staying nearby for a convention and found this place a welcome change. Their patio seating overlooking the Marina made for a pleasant venue. Would recommend for quick meal or a leisurely stop with friends.

A simple way to avoid the exhorbitant food prices at the adjacent Sheraton. Very tasty turkey, avocado & cheese sandwich. Decent selection of wine & beer, & other beverages, but no real deli case.

After eating the $28 breakfast buffet at the Sheraton the first day of our stay in San Diego we decided we had better find somewhere else close by for a more reasonable price. This was the perfect spot. The service was friendly and efficient and you could get a vegetarian omelet with 2 pieces of wheat toast and potatoes for 10.95! All their prices were great. We were so happy with our food and cost that we ordered two sandwiches to go to eat later at lunch! There are a few tables inside to sit and eat and there are several outside as well with a beautiful setting of the marina. This is a great place to pick up some beer too! So glad we found this place. It was literally right next door to the Sheraton Hotel and Marina Bay Tower.

Ate here while staying at the Sheraton down the road. Better deal for the same food. Paid $28 for two eggs, sausage, hash browns and toad at the Sheraton. Here is was less than $10. Made the mistake of eating at the Sheraton our first morning and from then on it was Papananis. The owner is super friendly and nice. Would be nice if they stayed open a little later so you could pick things up around 7:00 p.m. since there is nothing else close by.

This is the best deli in the area! Great food, friendly owners and staff, best selection and good prices. Plus they have a nice group of tables outside to look over the marina while you eat.

We visited here after doing the Adventure Rib Ride whale watching. We had a walk along the harbour and stumbled across this place. Really nice sandwiches and they'll do them however you like. I can strongly recommend the BLT. We sat outside in the sun on the terrace overlooking the harbour which was pleasant.

A little tricky to find. The food is good and the price is reasonable, but they could improve their service a little bit tho...

Reasonably priced and plenty of selection. This is a nice little deli plopped between hotels with table seating overlooking the marina.

This is a great deli. It is walking distance from either of the Sheraton hotels. I had the Philly Cheesesteak. Highly recommended. Nice to sit by the marina and enjoy lunch.

Great food at a reasonable price, especially for people staying around the marina and the Sheraton towers. Know what you want when you get to the counter - this place is busy and they don't have time (or the desire) to help you figure out what to order. Aside from brusque service, it's great food at a great price in a pretty darn awesome location.

Really enjoyed this quick and well-priced little spot while I was staying at the Sheraton. The food was way better than the hotel, and for a fraction of the price. Had a hot meatball sub and it was fab.

great for breakfast, as the hotel for breakfast is a little pricey, hot and fast and is good food

If you are staying at the Shearton or Hilton on Harbor Island, walk down to the Marina, and have an enjoyable time at this little hideaway, The restaurant has great food, and much less than the hotels! Breakfast 2 eggs, sausage/ham, potatoes and toast will set you back about $17.00 in either hotel, at this restuarant its $8.95 and tastes great! Sandwiches begin at about $6.00 and go up to about $10.00 but they are defintely worth every penny. Papananis also serves beer and wine, for a lot less! Definetely worth the walk!

Came here for our breakfast on our second morning at the nearby hotel. Owner very friendly and helpful and a hearty breakfast set me up for the day.

We found Papanai's by accident, we were staying at the Sheraton Marina Resort, and went for a walk. This restaurant sits right on the water, it's has very good food. Breakfast and lunch! Best items on the menu? Salads, meatball sandwich, chicken parmigiana, French dip and cold deli salads, cole slaw and macaroni salads great choices! Prices are half the price of the hotels, and portions are much larger! The owner is a friendly, happy man who welcomes each and every customer! I visited this restaurant three times and each visit was better! A definite winner!

So we found this place by pure luck. It was close and we needed something early. 7 AM early. Little did we know it was a goldmine of delicious. Bestie got a bagel breakfast, I got burrito. Both got coffee. It was crazy good. The burrito was HUGE and it was made right - no lack of onions or egg. Perfect ratios. As a vegetarian, I always appreciate a spot that lets me sub with no issues. The person working asked me if I wanted to sub avocado - the answer is yes, of course. Bestie likes her bacon super crispy - it was made perfectly. We sat at a small table with a great view of the marina, which made it that much better. They were super friendly and had 5 different types of coffee forrefills, including Kona, one of my faves. We went back for lunch and were equally impressed. Great spot, not to be overlooked!

Went for breakfast rep told owner approx 40 people on tour who might be going for breakfast with time issues..Food OK but service very slow some people ended up taking food onto coach.

This is the place for breakfast if you're staying in the Sheraton. Fabulus choice of omelettes, bacon, toast, coffee etc - everything that you want to start off the day for a reasonable price. Sit inside in the cool or outside overlooking the marina. Great service and good value.

Great breakfast and great lunch. Fair prices for location on the marina. Hot pastrami and gyro were amazing. Great choice of beer as well. In 7 days I probably ate there 8 times. Breakfast and lunch some days. Don't miss it!

Lovely breakfast bagels - no.8 particularly. Clean, good value and very friendly. Right on the marina and close to the Sheraton Hotel.

Great sandwiches, pretty pricy. I would eat here every day, but it would break the bank. Not the fastest service, but amazing sandwiches.

A very informal, fun little restaurant. Inexpensive, friendly and beautiful setting. You'll enjoy the experience!

Located between the two Sheraton hotels at the San Diego marina and 1/3 the cost of any food at the hotels. We had subs one afternoon and breakfast the next morning. Both were great with the subs being huge.

We are in San Diego for a wedding. Staying at the Sheraton Bay Tower. The deli is between the two Sheraton Marina hotels. We stopped at the deli last night to pick up some IPA beer, cola, water, and food. Our bill for 12 beer, a bottle opener, gallon of water, large coke, two hearty sandwiches, and a hard seltzer water was $63. A deal! So we came back for breakfast. A coffee, ham and cheese and mushroom omelette with hash browns and toast with a serving of chicken and rice soup for $23. The breakfast at the Sheraton is $26. We will be back! Yum.

Visited a couple of times whilst at the hotel next door at a convention. I wish I’d have found it sooner! A good range of drinks and food at good prices. I would definitely return if in the area.

Stopped here on the way to the airport. It is located between the 2 Sheraton towers. They have sandwiches, gyros, panini and pizza as well as salads and fruits packaged to go. Also fresh baked desserts and hand dipped Dreyer's ice cream.

In between the two towers of the Sheraton, they offer many sandwich choices and drink options. Good food.

Staying at the Sheraton and read about this place on Tripadvisor. Hotel breakfast was so high priced, this was a pleasure. The best waffles and pancakes! Also had lunch ,good sandwiches, yummy desserts. Short walk between towers. You can eat outside on the Marina. Only bad part were the plastic silverware and paper plates. No big deal since the food was good.

Small place near the harbor. Big plates of food for a very reasonable price. So much cheaper than nearby hotel meals and you get so much more. Has an impressive deli, beer, snacks, breakfast and more.

Located between the two Sheraton hotels off a sidewalk that surrounds the marina. Friendly service. Delicious food. Every bite I was in awe.

Great little place along the Marina provided good food at reasonable prices. I did find it amusing that they advertise as being open for breakfast, lunch and dinner but close at 6 p.m. Guess you'll need to make it an early dinner. We usually hit them for breakfast. Made to order omelet was great!

I can't say enough great things about this place. I ate breakfast and lunch here every day during the VRMA conference. The staff was wonderful and sweet, and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Tip: Try the Denver omelette.

This little deli on the marina is between the two towers of the Sheritan San Diego Marina hotel. You can walk to it on the marina side. Here you can get a cheap breakfast or sandwich if you want to avoid the Hotel prices . Atmosphere is not awesome but if you sit outside it is nice.

I wish our marina in RI had a place like this. Small grocery with an eat-in deli. We had breakfast here, sitting outside looking at the marina. Super fast and delish breakfast!

Located 1 minute walk from Sheraton Hotel, this deli serving the marina was great. Visited nearly each day of our stay. Fresh cooked/prepared breakfasts, sandwiches, snacks. Generous portions and tasty grilled items for tremendous value, especially vs expensive hotel fare.

This is a deli between the two Sheraton towers and gives you the option of a cheaper breakfast lunch or snack. They did BBQ only on the weakener when we were there. Their food is okay and you can get drinks and bananas there that you can't get in the hotel unless you want to pay $5.50 for a teenie container of Pringles and other ridiculous bar fridge prices at the Sheraton. You can ask for a fridge for free at teh Sheraton and stock it with this stuff from Papaninis.

This deli serves the best sandwiches at very good prices. The soups are made daily and are very hearty and delicious. Had the Reuben and it was excellent. So good we went back before leaving the next day!

Stopped by here on my way between the Sheraton towers. Thought I'd get some cheap snacks so I didn't have to use the minibar. Bought a few things. Other than the bottled water, the snacks were not fresh. My chocolate bar was actually white with age and tasted stale. Did not try any of the prepared food, so I cannot comment on that.

Papanani's was located between the Marina Tower and the Bay Tower of the Sheraton. If you wanted food or drinks that weren't at hotel level pricing, Papanani's was perfect. They also had a reasonable beer selection for a reasonable price. Worth stopping in if you're staying at the Sheraton.

the sandwiches and pizza are big and plentiful. They were packed with awesome grub. We love it and now eat there quite regularly.

Get ready to pay $4 for a 1 ltr bottle of soda and 4x the price for alcohol. Only place around and prices are 4x a normal store.

The place was slammed with people from the conference with a line out the door and it sounded like some of the help had failed to show. Yet, those that were there were so friendly and cheerful, you wouldn't have known they were busting their tails for probably 3 hours straight. Kudos to them for the fantastic food and friendly service!

This is a convenience store that sells quick-type food and I wasn't expecting gourmet, but I paid $9 for a breakfast sandwich that was worth about $1.50. Very low quality. Service was good, but the food there is not. If you're just looking for a quick bite and don't care how much you pay, then no worries, but be aware that the quality and value are poor. You're better off eating at the Starbucks at the hotel next door.

The sandwiches are huge!! my girlfriend and I ate here after being recommended by Captain Mike from San Diego Sailing Tours. We were able to crack open a beer and enjoy the view of the boats and downtown right across the way. Great family atmosphere.

The Sandwiches seem expensive in the menu, but they are huge and worth every penny. The Deli is a good choice if you are in the Sheraton Hotrl but dont fancy the Breakfast there

I stopped in after a bike ride and grabbed a water and a turkey sandwich. The sandwich was so,so good. The hoagie type roll was very good and the sandwich was prepared perfectly! Yum!

$3.75 for a bagel with cream cheese, that was ridiculousness and over priced. It was the only deli in the area that served regular food.

This little deli is on the walkway between the Bay and Marina Towers of the Sheraton. It's right on the marina. The sandwiches are huge and delicious! This was a great place to grab a bite outside the hotels - and the only restaurant besides the hotel-run ones near the Sheraton Harbor Island complex.

Papananni's was recommended by a local and we were so glad to find this great little place! Papananni's was the perfect place to grab a reasonably priced delicious sandwich and a drink while we were staying at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. Conveniently located between the bay and marina towers of the hotel, Papananni's offers delectable sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Even though the line was lengthy at times, we always received excellent and speedy service. Be sure to stop in at Papananni's... you won't be disappointed! They also sell beer, sodas, water, sundries, etc. The staff were so friendly as well!

The deli is located between the two Sheraton Towers. The food is reasonably priced and excellent. I attended a conference at the Sheraton and ate breakfast and lunch at the deli everyday as it was walking distance from the hotel, priced alot cheaper than the hote, and the food was good.

I had a sandwich from Papananis when I went sailing with San Diego Sailing Tours (included in the sail). It was so tasty, I went back the next day for another one.

People are very friendly and the sandwiches are great. Ate here for lunch three days. Rye and wheat are the best breads. Ham and turkey both excellent. Avocados fresh every time. Great brown mustard. Would recommend, even if the line is long (cuz you're with lots of conference people :) is worth the wait.

Found this one on Trip Advisor, and was surprised. It's a deli/market that was walking distance from my hotel. It had a bug selection of both hot and cold sandwiches. Both are very large. Very pleased with this place for lunch. Would go back for sure!

If you're just looking for basic sustenance, this place is good. The locals seem to love it but I was hoping for something more like I'm used to at the marina in Seattle. They seem to have a comprehensive menu but if you're health conscious, there aren't many choices for you. Lots of ham, eggs and hashbrowns and only Farmers Bros. coffee. This place isn't for the coffee geek. I can't compare the food but after walking through I wished I'd stopped at the Sheraton for breakfast instead. Additionally, we ordered one item without meat and it came back full of ham so they had to start over. I saw the clerk write no meat and cross out all of the meat choices. The chef wasn't paying attention. Mistakes happen...just frustrating when everyone does what they can except the one executing the order.

I kept passing this place going between the 2 Sheratons for a business meeting and I finally stopped in for lunch. I'm glad I did because I paid about one third what I would have paid at the hotel restaurants for a much tastier Thai salad. It may take a few minutes because they make everything as you order it, and apparently they can get a pretty good crowd in there. THere's not much seating in the restaurant, but they do have a small patio looking out over the marina.

Love their food, they are so nice and their store has beer, wine, drinks- if I don't have time to make something when we go out on our boat I know I can pick up something and their deli food is great

Enjoyed a nice pizza at this little Deli. The staff were friendly and the view over the marina was a nice addition. Worth a visit for a quick snack.

This little gem is family owned and has lots of customers coming from the hotels along the San Diego Harbor & Marina Located on Harbor Island Drive right on the Marina, it offers homemade breakfast and lunches. If you are looking for great customer service, Sam Rihan and his wife Samantha, were so friendly and tried to make sure everything was just right. While it is a deli, it is a fine choice if you want to sit outside, look at the marina and enjoy breakfast or lunch. Food served is on paper plates with lots of beverage choices including wine and beer by the bottle. Surely a nice option to take to your room if you don't want to spend $9.00 a glass at the hotels! Thank you Sam and Samantha for taking care of our breakfast needs! September 2007 Sally M

Papanani's is a quaint little deli on the pier by San Diego Sheraton's. Bass, the gentleman who runs the place is absolutely the kindest, nicest person I've ever run across. The food is excellent. The cost is surprisingly low.The coffee is the best.! I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in San Diego. I would definitely recommend anybody visit this place. They are very charming!

Stumbled upon this place walking between the 2 Sheraton hotels and was very happy to find it. Good food and great prices..especially in comparison to what you get and pay for at the Sheraton! Very pleasant staff and will be visiting daily as it is a little convenience store as well as deli/restaurant. Nice outdoor dining space with marina views.

The first day we arrived at the Sheraton we were walking from the Bay Tower over to their main tower in search of lunch and found this. We had a view of the harbor outside while eating our delicious sandwiches. An unexpected gem.

We were staying at the Sheraton & walked over for lunch. The employees were not helpful & we were the only customers, but my BLT was really delicious as was my husband's roast beef sandwich. The bread was tasty. It was cool so we ate inside, but there is a patio with a view of the marina. They have drinks, ice cream & other goodies.

Came in for a conference staying at Sheraton harbor. Had a Rueben sandwich which was very good outside the marina. Perfect setting. Counter staff friendly. Place very clean. Stopped for breakfast on our last day. Had a delicious omelette. Would highly recommend this little gem.

I think she was the owner, but she was very nice. The sandwiches were very large and very delicious. I had as the woman about taking a sail with my wife and she called a friend at San Diego Sailing Tours and set the whole thing up. She even let me use her phone to talk to him. Great Deli and great people.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch here. My wife had the Hawaiian pizza and I had the Turkey, bacon, cheese, and avocado sandwich. Both were excellent! We ate out on their deck that overlooks the marina. So beautiful. The service was excellent and friendly. Also, they have a lot snacks and items that are very helpful for travelers.

The owner and the staff was very friendly. The prices are great, much cheaper then the hotel.

The food is great and the staff is wonderful. They make your breakfast 'to order'....we enjoyed it every morning!

This is a great little deli that is in between the two towers of the Sheraton Hotel & Marina. The food is affordable, tastes good and and you are served quickly. You have the option of going in to order or you can call ahead and pick up. Definitely more affordable than having breakfast at the hotel. I had bfast (sunny side eggs and toast) as well as cold sandwiches and salads, on different days, and they were all good with a healthy serving size each time. P.S. Sam is a darling.

The French Dip sandwich and turkey/avocado sandwiches were delicious, generous, very reasonably priced!!! Friendly, quick service. It's not very visible from the road, and I think I had to search for "deli's" rather than "restaurants" to find it.

My spouse and I visited Papanani’s Deli on a Saturday morning in early July 2018. The deli and sundry shop is open daily from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm. Papanani’s is located on Harbor Island, on the dockside promenade between the two parts of the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. Paid parking for Papanani’s is available in a surface lot in front of the building, although spaces are at a premium because it doubles as the parking lot for the marina/boat slip owners. You can dine indoors or outside on the waterside patio at round tables topped with umbrellas. Papanani’s gets busy at lunchtime if a conference is going on at the Sheraton; many attendees make the easy 5-minute walk along the harbor promenade to reach the deli. On the weekend, in addition to regular deli options, a staff member mans an outdoor grill to prepare hamburgers and other barbecue fare for customers. The deli also sells packaged goods like beer, wine, and select items for the adjacent boat owners, as well as hot made-to-order gourmet coffee. Enjoy a drink and/or casual meal when you visit Papanani’s Deli.

What a great place hidden within the Sheraton property .....The food was wonderful and priced great...I found it a nice hide away from the VRMA conference...There breakfast was wonderful loved the omelets and the Ruben sandwich was yummy

It was a huge sandwich for the price or not. The club should be a bettcha can't finish it item haha

A hotel worker at the nearby Sheraton pointed this place out to me when I was looking for breakfast to eat that was closeby. He recommended this place and I was very happy he did. The place is simple but quaint inside. It has a very large menu for all meals. I had a breakfast of something similar to an Egg Mcmuffin but with a croissant and bacon. It was good. Later for dinner that night I had an Italian sandwich which was good size and good as well. The main meals here will cost you $8-$10. This is cheap compare to the restaurants nearby where you will pay at least twice this. The menu consist of a large selection of cold and hot sandwiches, soups, salads, any other stuff. You can look at their menu online to get an idea. In addition, they sell all kinds of snack items along with bottled drinks. Basically, you look at the menu on the call and order from the counter. They then prepare it for you in roughly 5-10 minutes. Both times I was there they were only a few other people there. Once the meail is ready they call you and you take it to your table. Overall, I really liked this place for its location, good value, and being able to relax in comfort. Just walk 100 yards from the back of the Sheraton Marina hotel along the marina and you are there. Not walk at least 500 yards or more for the more expensive restaurants nearby.
Really Good Sandwiches
Sandwiches were great. Had a bit of a hard time finding this place, but I imagine this is somewhere locals/ boaters go and know where it is. Went here to grab sandwiches for a catamaran tour that was just down the street. Delicious!
