Always a great selection for a date night. Great lively ambiance and arguably the best sushi in Miami.

A weekday wedding brought a us to Miami so we decided to extend our trip and spend a few days soaking in what Miami has to offer! We’re huge sushi fans, so we decided we would checkout Paperfish! The atmosphere is trendy, stylish and welcoming! Our server Jenny was 10/10!! Jenny was attentive and accommodating, making sure we received all of our food in a timely manner! We had an awesome dinner, the nigiri and Wagyu dishes were on point! Would def recommend for a nice dinner out, ask for Jenny!!

We were heading towards another restaurant but the happy hour at Paperfish caught our eye and the atmosphere looked great. Walter was our waiter and took our order right away. He suggested a few dishes that were phenomenal including the trepida apasionada. The food came out very fast, was high quality and delicious. Music was great and ambiance on Española Way is always live. We would totally visit again.

The restaurant was a little off the beaten path, and we only tried it on the recommendation of the hotel staff. The prices were very reasonable for sushi — especially for toro — so I was a bit skeptical at first. But wow, was I wrong. It turned out to be the best sushi we’ve eaten all year. Everything was incredibly fresh and melted in our mouths. The place was lively, and the rest of the menu was excellent too — the black cod could easily give Nobu a run for its money. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit. Five stars — sushi to die for.

We visited just this week and were extremely happy with our dinner. The drinks were creative and fun. The sushi was fresh and the flavors paired together were excellent. The rolls are huge so we ordered one at a time and it was hard to stop because they were all so good. Crème brûlée (mango & passion fruit) was a great way to end the night. Will def return again !

Coming Back to this place again! Fresh sushi, fantastic lunch specials and great service. Highly recommend. Spicy tuna roll, Paperfish Bento & Rock Shrimp bowl were all so well done. The miso soup was exceptional. Highly, highly recommend.

The restaurant is charming. The service was slow to begin with but after placing orders everything came very quickly. Food ok, normal, nothing special, I didn't eat anything incredible or unforgettable. I really didn't understand the high rating of the establishment. What they call happy hour works like this: half the price and half the portion, that's right, they only serve half the portion and the entire menu is not available, there are very few options. There are much better competing restaurants in Brickell.

Outstanding service, the smoothest experience in this side of Miami Beach, upbeat relaxed vibes, and fish was phenomenal. Fresh, exquisite, most definitely will be back. Try the Crispy Rice, OMG. That alone is reason to stop by anytime! Me and my wife had a wonderful time. And for less than $140 we literally ate half the menu!!!

The service and food came fast, it was perfect for a quick lunch. The Ebi Katsu Roll was delicious. The ambience of the place is relaxing and good music.

If you love sushi and seafood, this is a must stop in Miami! The drinks are creative and amazing, the sushi is delicious, and the mains -- while expensive -- are definitely an experience. I personally recommend the BAO buns and fried rice. Our server, Joselyne, was wonderful and guided us through the dinner wonderfully.

Stopped here one night in Miami and the food was incredible, staff were amazing and the drinks were the best. Must visit down Espanola Way!

Ana was our waitress and was so nice and extremely attentive to us. My friend was visiting from out of town (Omaha, Nebraska) and she said she had a great time. We accidentally arrived at Happy Hour times and Ana literally walked us through the (very cheap) Happy Hour menu. She was fabulous. We will be back.

The decor is very tasteful and beautiful. The service was incredible. The food was very distinct. Not like other Japanese restaurants where everything tastes the same. Only one issue. The couple next to us was allowed to have their dog on their lap eating off the table. When I mentioned it to the manager, she was very polite and apologetic. However, nothing was ever said to the person with the dog sitting on their lap eating from the table. I found that a little bit disturbing. Like it’s not enough nowadays that we have to worry about Covid, now we have to worry about dog germs as well. I’m fine with having your dog at the table on the floor. But not sitting at THE TABLE. I think “dog friendly restaurant” should mean that your dog can sit next to you on the floor at the table. But not AT THE TABLE.

The food is always amazing!!! Johanna took care of us, always smiling and it was perfect. Congrats, Paperfish! That’s why I come here with my husband every week.

Fast service, great atmosphere, excellent service. Diego, you’re the man! Couldn’t recommend the happy hour menu more.

We were looking for a wonderful place to cap off a great vacation and made reservations for Paperfish. My mistake in not knowing there were two so we went to the one in Miami (vs. South Beach) but the host was so helpful, found us a seat and called the other Paperfish to cancel for us. The service was outstanding, the place was lively and beautiful as well. Food was terrific and our waiter was great in suggesting things to try since they have some really interesting items that you won't find anywhere else. It was a terrific dinner, no rush and again, the service was great.

A nice local, air conditioning regulated well, the staff very nice. We asked to have dinner quickly and they were super fast. The sushi was good.

We came here for my birthday and the food was just amazing. Honestly, we eat all types of foods but this was amazing even the drinks were good and that food comes out fast!

Fun location on pretty, lively Espanola Way, so get there earlyish for a table outside and to take advantage of happy hour which lasts until 7. Nice HH selection, tho of course you can add in regular menu items if you wish. Outdoor music could use to be toned down some to facilitate conversation especially when it gets busy.

Paperfish is a VIBE, the food is amazing, totally recommend all of their nigiri, the fried rice with beef tenderloin & their Nikkei tataki! Diego is awesome! Thank you Diego for all your recommendations!

Nice restaurant, super quick staff, just a bit difficult to find the entrance, but that gave bit of extra charm to it, like a hidden gem :) as for the sushi, they were good, not the best I ever had but would order here again. desert on the other hand was one of the best for my taste (we had chocolate moose bar with peanuts, don’t remember how it’s called)

Paperfish is my favorite sushi spot now. The salmon crispy rice is hands down the best cripsy rice I've ever had and the acevichado is delicious. It's very good. restaurant is stunning too!

I usually don’t write reviews but I had to for this outstanding place. I recommend to try the acevichado roll and the crispy rice it is delicious and out of this world !! And you can’t leave without trying the dessert “chocolate candy bar” so yummy !! I would definitely be coming back to this place!!! Angie

Everything was very good. From our waiter, Joseph who checked in regularly and offered recommendations and helped us decide on a perfect selection for the evening - to the drinks and food and ambiance - Paperfish is always a great time. Hand rolls, tuna crispy rice, pork/shrimp gyozas, paper fish maki…try it all!

We visited Paperfsh on a Thursday night in April with a party of 3, two adults and one 5 year old. The good: The food was delicious! The portion sizes were generous. Our 5 year old ordered from the very limited kids menu (3 options) and the chicken fingers and fries were very good even by adult standards. My husband and I ordered the Wagyu dumplings, a hand roll, California roll, ceviche, and the miso sea bass. Everything was delicious. The restaurant sent out some crispy fried rice wrappers for the ceviche and they literally melted into savory bliss. The so-so: The table was small like a cafe table and the dishes were oversized making it difficult. We kept having to ask for various things to be removed from our table to prevent things being knocked off. The noise level was very loud. This is a very lively area of South Miami Beach with lots going on outside and loud music. Our daughter was holding her ears at certain points. This was a good experience overall, we might come back. The portions were big. I had to ask my husband to help finish the food.

Great spot for some delicious food! I came during happy hour and the deals were so good. Jonni, our server was the sweetest and made some great recommendations.

I took a trip to Miami with my fiancé and someone recommended this restaurant to us. It was honestly the best sushi I have ever had! It was tough to get a reservation on a Saturday night but we were able to sit at the bar which is first come first serve. The octopus was delicious and came with an edamame foam. We ordered the wagyu nigiri which was so delicious and just melted in your mouth. Another thing we loved was the tuna and foiegras nigiri. The cocktails were also delicious, I had a wasabi martini that I loved. If you are anywhere near Brickell you have to check this place out.

Our server Joselyn was AMAZING. Her service and attentiveness really enhanced the experience along with great food and beverages. She reminded me of how much fun i used to have as a server, as you really felt she enjoyed taking care of you. What I especially loved is that she paid special attention to our bday girl, who happened to be not drinking alcohol tonight, and worked with the bar to accommodate bday girls needs while letting her take part in the fun of drinks and shots, in her own special way. Wow. The signature nigiri was outstanding. The flavors they fuse are out of this world. It’s a little tricky to find - adjacent to Salty Flame. I would highly recommend. In fact, I’d work here just so I could eat here every day.

Visited Paperfish Restaurant in Brickell for lunch with friends. What a wonderful experience! Claudia the server greeted us with a very convenient explanation of the Menu (for some of us it was the 1st time dining at a Japanese place). She was very knowledgeable and kind. I must say, from the presentation of the food and drinks to the delectable flavors everything was a 10/10. Highly recommend the wagyu gyozas as starter and the virgin Dragonfruit Mule. Kudos to all the staff, I will certainly come back!!!

DO NOT GO TO PAPERFISH! STAY AWAY! I want it all to myself. I had heard about Paperfish for a while and was looking forward to one day trying it. I actually had planned Nobu on this night, but ended up at Paperfish instead. It is not easy to find,. I literally drove right past it since the entrance is in the alley, not on the main street. It is located right behind Barsecco. The entrance is pretty cool and the inside is well decorated. What this place isn't is quiet/romantic. It is noisy and you are cramped in with lots of other Paperfish fans. It is also not overpriced. Now to the food. I really wanted to go to Nobu that night because they have about a dozen items that you simply can't get anywhere else. The last time I went to Nobu, there were 4 items that I could have eaten every day of my life, but there were a few that I would never order again and one that was horrible (in my opinion). So how did Paperfish stack up. Every item we ate was delicious. There was not one thing I wouldn't order again and there were 6 items I could eat every day of my life. We got out of Paperfish for only $200. The same experience at Nobu would have cost $500+. The cod was just as good as Nobu's cod at half the price. I am not saying that the selection is as large and that the top top end items are equal, but if you want great sushi at a great price and like crowded loud restaurants filled with beautiful people, then Paperfish is for you. The 6 items that will be on my table the next time I go Salmon Aburi, Hotruffle, Miso Black Cod, Seabass, Crispy Truffle Fried Rice, and the Chocolate Candy Bar. I look forward to my next trip there and try the items I had no room to add.

The new place was great and had great service overall. My first time there and it was great time . Sushi was great and I sat in front of the bar area

Not good enough to rate more than average. We ordered two appetizers, one entree and a roll to be served with the entree. First to arrive was the roll with a bowl of rice that was to accompany the entree. The roll was excellent but I had to eat one piece every minute while we waited 15 minutes for the first appetizer. We then waited another 20 minutes for the entree to arrive, while the rice had now been sat there for more than 30 minutes, and then the last item arrived, the second appetizer ! The roll and the gyoza were excellent. The steamed grouper entree was a nice piece of fish but it was swimming in what tasted like 1/2 a gallon of soy sauce, way too strong ! Considering the consistent high reviews for the restaurant, we were very disappointed.

Sushi / Asian restaurant by espanola way in south beach! Not bad compare w the rest of the restaurant in the area I take the tuna sashimi & tuna sushi very good but is not compare w NoBul a is more authentic and fresh products

Our server Ana was so sweet. And we were thinking about the bao buns at happy hour but she recommended them and they were the best i have ever had! Very impressed. The crispy rice was also phenomenal. The drinks were good. The rest of the food was just ok. So definitely get those two appetizers and the passion fruit martini on the happy hour menu. Another table had some tasty looking drinks but I think they were not on the happy hour menu.

Joanna was an amazing hostess that gave great recommendations and I cannot stress enough how wonderful this place was. It's a 7 minute walk from the Novotel Brickell; which is where we stayed. The Flower Blossom drink is very addictive. Every thing we tried was melt in your mouth perfection. This was the first and only time that I did not use soy sauce bc it is absolutely not necessary.

Located conveniently among several four star restaurants. Indoor/outdoor seating. Arrive before 7pm to order from the happy hour menu. Portions are moderate but offset by the delicious food. The gyoza and salmon were great choices on the HH menu. I had the miso black cod and we shared a not too sweet Thai tea crème brulee that were both memorable for great taste.

Excellent fresh sushi. We had spicy tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. Highly recommended. They customized for me without avocado.

Had a birthday dinner there with my son recently. I want to say this first, the staff was very nice they brought out a little birthday cake for him at the end and it was wonderful. But I have to say I was really disappointed the way the food came out. this is a very expensive restaurant. We ordered appetizers and shared four or five sushi rolls. Right after we ordered, they started bringing out sushi. My son asked what about the appetizers? The server said that’s how things work here, they just come out as they’re ready. I have to say it was very rushed and haphazard the way the food came out. I won’t even mention the throbbing club music that beats ad you’re trying to eat your meal at 6 o’clock at night!

Frequent spot that I go to with work friends. We have gone for drinks/dinner, but usually lunch. They have some cool lunch options where you can sample stuff, but the sushi is the star of the show and it's very very very good. I have had sushi all over, including Japan in recent months, and this place holds up. I also think the indoor area is lovely and I like what they have done with their outdoor location. Have not had a bas experience here.

Awesome ceviche offerings. They also had uni on the menu. The cocktails were creative and fun like the wasabi martini which came with a smoke bubble on top. The bartender and whole staff was friendly and so accommodating. Price was, VERY REASONABLE considering it’s south beach Miami and everything anywhere else is so expensive (like chicken fingers and fries are 60$ at some places). So this restaurant was really a breath of fresh air with great quality menu items and excellent service.

She is the best server you have! Don’t ever let her go! She is very detailed and knows exactly how to please the customers!

Honestly, paper fish is the best sushi place in the area. Not only because everything in the menu is delicious and authentic, but because the service in my last experience was GREAT; Joseph is an excelente server. His recommendations, patience and superb customer service at all times made this experience REALLY good. I’m definitely coming back !

Yummy meal at Paperfish with my husband. We loved the miso cod and spicy edamame. The sushi was also excellent and the service couldn't have been more perfect. Really nice and relaxing environment as well surrounded by the restaurant's pretty ambiance (the cherry blossom trees made it so happy!).

My partner and I traveled with our little dog. We were a little worried about not being allowed in dining with a small dog. The hosts greeted us so pleasant and welcoming. We sat outside by the cobblestone walkway, great view. Our server Joy was such a delight! Gave us great recommendations, made us feel very comfortable! The sushi was amazing, and great presentation! If your in the area you must stop in!

We have eaten sushi all over the country and found these dishes to be some of the best we’ve had. The scallop nigiri was insanely Smokey and fresh tasting. There are happy hour deals w strong mojitos and well priced small plates. We were really impressed to have something so good in a tourist area. More specifically, IVAN gave great service and kept the food coming. He was polite and quiet but extremely attentive. We did not wait long for anything. Great experience and we will probably come again in the next 3 days. Try it!

It was my first time in Paperfish and I had an amazing time. Food and drinks were great, but the service was Amazing. Johanna was our service and she was super friendly and nice! She even brought me a cake for my birthday. She made it a special day! I would definitely come back!

Paper fish has a good happy hour. It’s a smaller restaurant which makes it very cozy with a great vibe. The drinks were made very well. The sushi was delicious. The only caution here is you can create a large bill without realizing it. I would definitely come back when in Miami.

We visited Paperfsh on a Thursday night in April with a party of 3, two adults and one 5 year old. The good: The food was delicious! The portion sizes were generous. Our 5 year old ordered from the very limited kids menu (3 options) and the chicken fingers and fries were very good even by adult standards. My husband and I ordered the Wagyu dumplings, a hand roll, California roll, ceviche, and the miso sea bass. Everything was delicious. The restaurant sent out some crispy fried rice wrappers for the ceviche and they literally melted into savory bliss. The so-so: The table was small like a cafe table and the dishes were oversized making it difficult. We kept having to ask for various things to be removed from our table to prevent things being knocked off. The noise level was very loud. This is a very lively area of South Miami Beach with lots going on outside and loud music. Our daughter was holding her ears at certain points. This was a good experience overall, we might come back. The portions were big. I had to ask my husband to help finish the food.

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at PaperFish. We had dinner and drinks. I am celiac and I was able to order food from their menu. I ordered the crispy rice with salmon. When I say amazing ! It was so amazing ! All of the sushi and sashimi I ordered was FANTASTIC! The sake I ordered the waitress recommended it; it was light and floral and perfect ! I highly recommend this restaurant. We sat inside and there was a fun vibe all around. Tables were packed. Our waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Fantastic food and service all around !

Everything at Paperfish was stunning - the service, atmosphere, chic interior, food, and drink options. As sushi "snobs", we love to try different sushi options around Miami. Paperfish is win for sure! We arrived early to sample the Happy Hour Menu, ordering cocktails and sushi. Then, we opted for Miami Spice. My partner and I ordered 1 of everything off the Miami Spice menu and we're not disappointed. Make reservations today; you will not be disappointed!

Amazing food, we did family style ordered over 5 plates and each on was better than the last. Overall extremely fresh and authentic. Ivana was a fantastic server with great recommendations.

We were only in Miami for a few days but we ate in this restaurant twice because the food was so good. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sushi was fresh and delicious. The only negative was the music which was too loud and annoying. It was also a bit pricey.

The restaurant looks really very nice. You are greeted friendly and the waiters are also sympathetic.The cocktails look good but don't really taste good. The bartender lady with the red hair shakes the martini for about three seconds. The cocktail gets warm very quickly....is also logical. I know that…. Because i am a bartender since 13 Years! The glasses for the martini are also not pre- Chillet with ice. If you still have very little in the cocktail. The cocktail they take it away… they dont ask u …u are finish? By the food the same..: u get ur last sushi in the mouth and the take the plate already away.The service was not really good. The sushi are good but too small.

OMG!! I heard so much about this place from my aunt who lives in Miami. However, every time we would try to go something would happen and we would miss our reservation or we couldn’t go. Well we finally went and let me tell you it lived up to all the HYPE!! The food is absolutely incredible, probably some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Chefs kiss! The atmosphere is beautiful!! It’s so live, great music and super cute! Cherry blossoms are a nice touch. Felt like I was in Japan again. Can’t say enough about the customer service. Our waiter was AWESOME!! He made the whole night. The runners were just as awesome as well. Overall 5 stars!! EXCELLENT! ❤️

Absolutely amazing sushi! Having had sushi in Japan, I’m a tough critic, but this was so very good. The scallop nigiri melted in your mouth. We also had ceviche which was amazing and the shirt ribs! If you love sushi, come eat here!

Incredible cocktails and sushi! The happy hour menu was so affordable and the portions were decently sized. We went at around 4pm with 8 people and it was easy to get a table. By far the best sushi I’ve had in Miami. The decor is also gorgeous, and the inside is very ambient. I love that it is hidden so it looks like you’re walking through a Cherry blossom forest.

The sushi is very good, although definitely in an American (or experimental) sense. It's not cheap - but then again, no decent sushi outside of Japan ever is. Their maki are long and thin, which is nice and makes them feel worth the money. Where Paperfish really knock it out of the park is in drinks and overall decor and ambience. It ticks all the right boxes for "trendy" and "modern", including instagrammable (young, thin, beautiful) patrons, loud music, and disco lights. Service was also a high point, with a tall blonde lady buzzing around with supreme efficiency and patience. We went on a Sunday night and there was plenty of space at 9pm, so booking is probably not essential on "low" days, but I expect it will be different Thursday to Saturday.

Pia was fabulous and our food was delicious! Can’t wait till we are able to come back!! If you have a gluten allergy Pia has great recommendations!! Best sushi ever!!! Highly highly recommend!!

The food was amazing, it was very tasty. The waygu was specially good as well as the rolls and the fried rice. The decoration was on point and there was space to park the car outside.

We had two meals at Paperfish — one lunch and one dinner. Lunch was very calm, while dinner was much livelier. The service was just OK. Compared to other places we tried in Miami, the sushi was average. The dessert was forgettable, and the glass of wine was far from generous. Overall, an OK experience with nothing particularly noteworthy.

Amazing ambience and vibe. Food is high quality and delicious. You must try the boa buns! We ordered a second one as soon as finishing the first set! Also José was a sweet and kind server. Great hospitality service and we’ll definitely be back!

The food is awesome! The ambience is great! Our server was knowledgeable and there when we needed him to be. Only thing was it took a lil while to get food however this was friend reunion so we had much to talk about. And it’s Art Basel weekend. We will be back!! Loved our meal here!
