Their motto is "known for quality" and I think it's definitely true. So true that I think this was possibly my best steakhouse experience ever. We made advance reservations prior to coming to Houston and came after the Astros game on a Saturday night. We got there early and were checked in right away and went to the bar for a cocktail. After getting our cocktails, we made our way to the table. Our server, Matthew, came by and gave us an introduction to the whole menu. He was outstanding - the only other steakhouse guy that measures up to Matthew was the guy at Berns in Tampa who looked like the bad guy who manned the front desk at Nakatomi Plaza after Hans Gruber took it over. Matthew was friendly, giving great advice and being on point all throughout the night. The bread came out first which was a large warm roll with soft butter. We ordered the Lobster Deviled eggs to start (his recommendation) which was an order of 3 whole eggs, each sliced in half with a piece of lobster in them. The deviled yolk portion was served in a separate Mason jar with honey bacon crumbs. You scooped as much or as little onto the egg halves as you pleased. Then we ordered the boneless ribeye and porterhouse to share (again, Matthew's rec). He mentioned the boneless ribeye is more flavorful than the bone in. Normally, this would be counterintuitive but, as Matthew explained, the bone in can only be dry aged for about 10 days whereas the boneless can dry age for 30 days which is what they do with all their steaks. Because of this, the boneless ribeye would have more concentrated flavor. He was so right. When the steaks came, he carved them tableside. We started with our ribeyes and our knives went right through the meat. Delicious and soft, the ribeye was probably some of the most tender we've ever had. For sides, we just got the creamed spinach and even this was better than most we've ever had. Finally, for dessert, we got the sorbet. This thing was the most monstrous sorbet you'll ever find. Essentially, a whole pint of Haagen Daaz sorbet scooped into 3 baseball sized scoops with tons of whipped cream on the side and almost a whole dry pint serving of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. The service and attention to detail were also totally extraordinary. After tables were cleaned off and turned over, the maitre d' would check under the tables and each chair individually with a flashlight to ensure everything was clean and spotless. Waiters would towel dry each wineglass for minutes at a time to ensure they were all clean prior to placing on the table. Another of Matthew's great recommendations was after finding out I liked Pinot Noirs - he suggested getting the Southern Rhone to compliment my steak because it paired well with the flavors of our steak - delicious as like everything else. It might seem like a lot of platitudes but Pappas Bros. is "known for quality" and I couldn't agree more.

We dined here before a show. The staff were very attentive and made sure that we would be served with time to spare to catch our show... service was outstanding from hostess, to manager, to sommelier, to server, to bussers. The atmosphere was nice and reasonably quiet, relative to that of the noisy-craziness of the recent (trendy) entries into the Houston steakhouse scene. To start we shared the lobster, deviled eggs. These contained nice size chunks of lobster and were just terrific. For mains, we had the veal chop and NY strip. These both were seasoned nicely, juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. We had cocktails and wine by the glass. The cocktails were and wine were pricey, but that’s how it goes at such a top, shelf establishment. We were all done with plenty of time to spare for our show... We will return with pleasure.

Simply a great night out. Not the cheapest meal, but was full on "old school", superb choice of meats and a wine list that was so big it has a table of contents page. We shared a King Crab leg to start, straight out of "Deadliest Catch", sweet and salty, was excellent. Followed with a veal chop, lyonnaise potatoes and washed down with a bottle of Barolo recommended by the Sommelier and a grappa. Portions were as to be expected in Texas and so was the bill, but was a fantastic meal in a fantastic setting, 10/10.

I really liked Pappas Bros in Downtown Houston, the bar here is excellent and their menu is brilliant with a good choice of steak and other options to choose from. The waiter Richard was friendly knowledgeable and professional, a very enjoyable experience and great tasting food to boot.

The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. Not the kind of place you go every night, but well worth going. The food presentation had a nice touch. If I return to HOUSTON I'll go again.

The evening at Pappas downtown was amazing from beginning to end. The bar served the best Paloma I’d ever had with all fresh ingredients. We ordered from the HRW weeks menu which was 3 courses and sizeable servings of each. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were delicious. Nothing was amiss as our server was there to make sure everything came out in a timely manner. I don’t have enough adjectives to describe what a special evening it was.

When it's time for the real-deal steak dinner with ALL the trimmings, this is home. I have dined here for a business dinner and solo sitting at the bar and both times was impressed with the service and quality of food. The menu items are all as you'd expect and the quality is excellent. The only "beef" I might have is that they seem to melt a lot of butter (or something) on their steak. It was cooked perfectly and delicious but the practice of melting butter on an already phenomenal piece of meat is something I find irritating. To be fair, this is a pretty common practice and I'm sure you can ask about holding back on it. The ambiance is lively and warm, with the obligatory piano playing in the background. Pappas pretty much nails the classic steakhouse experience, from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere. If it's steak night and you want to do it right, look no further.

We have always dined at the Westheimer location but we have been here at the downtown location 2x over the last 30days. Both times the food has been absolutely top notch. Service has been excellent. If you’re into wine - this is the best wine list in Houston hands down. Whoever is running the wine program here deserves a pat on the back. We have had the pleasure of having Rachel as our sommelier both times. She has done a fantastic job. For my birthday celebration a couple weeks back she settled us on a 1986 Château La Mission Haut-Brion which was incredible. Recently we had a super gem of a buy at her direction - a 1996 Chateau Meyney. Dealing with service professionals like Rachel, is one of the biggest reasons (and the food) that we will continue to come back here on a regular basis.

Large party with clients. We had a mix of appetizers, all excellent, followed by entrees. There were 3 of our party who did not order steak and they were all quite happy with the variety of options available. I went with the Prime Ribeye - Blackened (medium rare). The steak was excellent- cooked to perfection and the blackening rub was very good. Great for large parties and the bar area was quite the scene

I came here primarily for the steak after I could not find a reservation at the primary location at Westheimer. Service was detailed and warm and we were even sat down by one of the managers. Water was refilled constantly which was welcomed. Bread was great and extremely dense and fluffy and also served with real butter which is a touch I always appreciate. My group got the prime and bone-in ribeye as well as the porterhouse. All of the steaks were seasoned beautifully and the salt did not intrude upon the palate while the pepper mainly served to uplift the dishes. They were cooked beautifully and achieved a great tenderness and the ribeyes both had great marbling while the porterhouse, which essentially encompassed a combinaton of filet mignon and New York strip, was extremely rich despite the comparatively lesser marbling found in the cut. The dry-aging of the steak is especially notable as it produced a highly complex and variable flavour profile. I usually cannot discern too well the flavours of dry-aging but this one was particularly notable with a slightly smokey and earthly undertone supporting the beef. The sides were a mixed bag. I thought that the Brussels sprouts were slightly on the dry side and didn't have a lot of flavour variation. The asparagus was solidly cooked and flavourful however. The chocolate midnight cake for desert was fantastic. The strawberries provided a great tartness that cut through the decadency and rich sweetness of the cake and chocolate mousse filling. The ice cream was especially notable, usually restaurants will just give ice cream without any topping but this particular ice cream was topped with caramel and pecans which blended amazingly well an the ice cream in general was a great complement of the dish. I usually enjoy upscale restaurant desserts in general but I really thought this one was particularly well done. It is a bit on the expensive side but I also noticed that with the portion sizes (aside from the filet mignon where the largest is 12 ounces, the portions are upwards of 14 ounces) and factoring in that the richness and quality of the steak, it's a pricey endeavour but well worthwhile in the end.

This is our "go to" restaurant for a romantic dinner for two, celebrating birthdays, or a fun night out with friends. The restaurant has very nice decor and atmosphere. The bar is fun and lively. They have a piano player most evenings. The service is always excellent at both bar and table service. The food is the best part. The steaks are always wonderful. The crab cakes are excellent with lots of lump crab and the bacon wrapped scallops are great. The absolute best and our favorite is the lobster deviled eggs. They are served with the egg mixture and chunks of bacon in a separate dish so that you can mix as much or as little as you want. This is a MUST TRY on the menu.

Service was impeccable and ambiance of restaurant was reserved and classy. I also loved how they exhibited all the steaks in the front. Our porterhouse was huge (36 oz) and cooked to our liking, lot of flavor and red inside how it should be. Our cheesecake was also delicious. Wasn’t impressed with side dishes for such a fine dining location. Mashed potatoes were not close to the some of homeade mashed potatoes I’ve tried and mac and cheese wasn’t anything to remember. Perhaps it was just an off night on those. Would go back on future trips to houston.

Loved it!!! Great location. Great Staff. All Pro. Great ambience. Piano Bar. Great wine selection. Bartender was great. Safe to walk from my hotel down there and back. Even safer if you uber. I had Crab cakes, caesar salad, vension medallions with Foie gras, Negroni's, Red wine, and a Fernet. Watched college football at the bar. Everything you could want in a steakhouse.

Wife and I went on date night and again we were not disappointed. Everything was great from the Prime Beef Carpaccio, to the salads and then to the main entree' a 40 oz Porterhouse for two with potatoes au-gratin everything was off the charts. And it was made more enjoyable by our fantastic waiter, Jason. When you go ask for him.

If you want to feel like royalty, you must visit this restaurant! I have never in my life been treated with such amazing care. Isaac, our waiter, was phenomenal. He was highly knowledgeable and personable. He made me and my friends feel welcomed and he was highly attentive. If you want a 10/10 experience, make sure to ask for isaac!! Phillip the manager was incredible as well! Try the turtle gumbo, it was the best gumbo I ever had. The Fliet minion was a moist tender piece of meat and key lime pie was amazing. Cheesecake was humongous so we took some home, the graham cracker crust was to do for.

it was a friday night .. very busy a lot of people waiting in the bar area but we were called on time for our reservation .. the steaks were good and tasty .. a nice wine.chart i would recommand it to my friends - we were with a vegetarian but they had some limited choices - good wines - steaks as can be expected - very friendly staff

This well known spot is a polished classic steakhouse. My first visit here in 2018 made a great impression and the place is still firing on all cylynders. The atmosphere is great... high end but comfortable. Many types of seating options... sit in the bar, in the dining room, at the food bar in front of the kitchen... there's also a private room off the main room. The wine list is one of the best in town... very impressive... full of gems, especially if you have money to burn. There a few affordable choices as well. Excellent wines by the glass. I'm often disappointed at high-end steakhouses... but this place delivers. Not wild about everything here, but overall a great place. Atmosphere, service so great... most of the chow is excellent. My Prime NY Strip... perfectly cooked and amazing quality. Filets were a big hit with my guests. Sides deliver... excellent Mashed Potatoes... Spinach, Brussels, Mac & Cheese too. Crab Cakes ok, not my favorite preparation... I like more simple crab focused, this too fried. Lobster Deviled Eggs not impressive, need to rethink the prep... tiny piece of lobster and a jar of egg yoke to spoon in... kinda dumb idea and not enough lobster. Great Shrimp Cocktail, salads are excellent. Desserts are insanely great. They bring a cart by the table to tempt you. I can't think how anyone could refuse some of these treats... they all look unbelievable. Everything we tried was great, esp. the Cheesecake... It's about 6 inches high, amazing graham cracker crust... flanked with pieces of vanilla chocolate... with a vanilla sauce. Enough for 4 people, esp. after a big meal. The menu is a bit pricey... but worth it. I give a slight edge to this Pappas Brothers over their Westheimer location. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This is a must stop if you're a steak fan. The prices are set for how good the food is. The portions are true and the sides are spectacular. The atmosphere is charming and energetic with everyone enjoying a fine cooked meal. The service staff work very hard to make sure everyone in your party is well taken care of. And the desserts are to die for. So good!!!

We celebrated our anniversary at this fine steakhouse. Service was impeccable. Our server Jason was helpful and attentive without smothering. The wine list is extensive so don't be afraid to ask for help. The food was delicious and served very warm. We lingered over dinner and dessert and never felt rushed. Highly recommend this place as a high end experience and worth every penny.

Excellent in every regard; location, staff, décor, menu, bar, etc.! All employees from manager(s) to bussers were very courteous and thoughtful, timing of each course exact, with appearance, smell, and taste to perfection.

This is a review for a dinner back in January 2018 and Pappas did try and make up for the poor experience by sending me gift cards which they hoped we would use for their place again but we instead used them at other Pappas locations. We've eaten at the Westheimer location many times in the past (which was always a wonderful experience) and this was only our second time visiting the downtown location. To me, the atmosphere is better at the Westheimer location, but we live closer to DT, so that's where we went. They had our table all set up nicely (b/c it was our anniversary) but the service was not up to Pappas standards. We had to ask for water and had to fill our own wine glasses (after the first pour) which is so unlike any Pappas Bros. Steakhouse experience I've ever had. My biggest complaint though was my filet. I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into it but I had something happen that has never happened at Pappas or any other steakhouse for that matter. I always order a filet b/c it has no fat...I don't like the taste or feeling of biting into a fatty piece of meat, steak or any other kind. My first filet was fatty and when I said something to our waiter, he said that fat on a filet is not atypical (which I've never heard of or experienced) and brought me another one. Mind you, I had to sit and watch my husband and daughter eat their dinners while I waited. He finally brought the 2nd one and it was just as fatty but it was also not cooked to the proper temperature. I objected again, and then the manager on duty came over and again, he tried to explain to me that filets have fat in/on them. When I told him I've never had one like that before, he offered to take it off of my bill (duh), but never offered to bring me anything in exchange for my poor meal. I wasn't going to let it ruin my anniversary dinner, but in truth, it did. Pappas is not a cheap dining experience but this time it didn't feel special at all and I was bummed. I contacted the corporate office and like I said at the beginning, they did send us some gift cards to make up for it but we will never go back to this Pappas Bros location. I don't know if they're not trained as well or what but to give me the BS that filets have fat and then to have to tend to ourselves with our wine and water was inexcusable...especially at that price point. Just wanted to finally get this off of my chest and maybe your experience will be better than ours was. Personally, we'll stick to Perry's from now on.

My second visit to the downtown location usually go to westheimer. Excellent quality dry aged steaks the steak and foie gras special was perfectly prepared. Went for my birthday and the staff was quite professional. A bit noisier here making conversation difficult. $10 valet if that makes any difference when spending $59 on a steak.

Best bone in ribeye and filet we've had! Great service. Very professional. Upscale and you get what you pay for. We will be back!

I had fish, husband had steak. Plate of mashed potatoes was bigger than his head. Service excellent but we felt so rushed with food. As soon as we had ordered our starter it seemed it was there. Although I can't fault the attentiveness 5 star- and food - 4 star the price tag for the experience just didn't carry the sense of occasion with it. We could have been in and out within the hour with two courses and 3 drinks.

This was a wonderful group dinner (35 people). The food was really good, with a large selection so there was something for everyone. Our entire group enjoyed the food and service.

Having tried all the other Pappas Owned/managed type eateries, my wife and I thought we'd give the Original Pappas food type in Houston. We were there for a convention and, luckily, we had our own vehicle so driving there was no problem! Valet parking made it even easier to start our experience. The natural food to try was steak so we both opted for this! It was impeccable! Level of cooking, appearance on the plate, the excellent waiter service and most of all, the TASTE ! These folks got it right!!

Been going here for years and I have yet to find a place that can top it. The steaks are just perfect. The sides are excellent too and the wine list is just to much. Highly recommend it.

Although I don't live in Houston now, I have in the past and the Pappas Bros on Westheimer was one of my favourite restaurants. So, when a colleague suggested we try the 'new' (12 month old) downtown site on a recent visit, I was up for it. Our party of 16 had an outstanding evening. Service was great, the private room was excellent and the TV to watch the World Series as we dined a nice touch. For the visitors in our crowd, trying some real Texas steaks was a treat and this is one of the best examples. Almost not worth mentioning the Alaskan king crab but I have to - it was so fresh as to be the best I've ever had. Brilliant night

I enjoy ALL the Pappas restaurants...simply top notch. The steakhouse is World Class not only in terms of food but service as well as their liquor and wine selections. My bone in ribeye was cooked perfectly and served piping hot. Certainly not a place I can afford to dine at regularly but it certainly is a treat!

Really good service and food. The crab cakes were outstanding and the filet was cooked perfectly. I also highly recommend the cheesy potatoes. One of the best steaks I've had in years.

Pappas Bros Steakhouse is our go-to restaurant for anniversary celebrations, and this was our first time to visit the downtown Houston location. The food was as delightful as with other locations. This was our first time to try the lobster deviled eggs and they were amazing. We kept to the seafood theme with a salmon in an Oscar sauce. Excellent wine list and we look forward to returning in the future.

Business dinner with colleagues. Appetizers of crab were plentiful and very very fresh. Petite filet was cooked to perfection and still big. Sides were delicious. Staff was on point and always avaialble for drinks and suggestions. Great job boys!

I was traveling alone in Houston and the hotel recommended Pappas Bros after I returned from the theater. I was starved!! They never hesitated to take a reservation from the hotel and I showed up around 10:30pm. Not one moments hesitation. My server (Patricia) was the utmost of professionalism when I apologized for having to keep her so late. Being a "newbie", she educated me on the history of the ownership and this restaurant. What impressed me more than anything was not being treated as a last minute imposition. I was treated as her most important guest of the evening which made my day. Being shuffled from place to place all day, that special treatment and not being rushed was a real treat. Oh, yeah, the food - the steak was absolutely perfect - temperature and seasoning. The brussels sprouts with lardons of bacon were the best I've had anywhere. Not bitter at all. The chocolate turtle pie was just awful - don't eat any - leave it all for me!!!

We enjoy the food but not the waiter that was really disrespectfull. I don´t understand this kind of situations.

So I have a number of problems with my experience here. First and foremost is the price gauging the restaurant puts on its customers. I have been to some very top notch restaurants in my time and this ranks as one of the most expensive I have come across (and I wasn't even paying as I was a business dinner guest). Secondly for the price of the steaks you would think the kitchen could prepare them as ordered. I had a filet on the bone order medium (how hard can that be to cook?!) which was unfortunately medium rare at best and was cooked so uneven it moved into rare territory for about 1/3 of the steak. I know, you can argue I could have and maybe should have sent it back to the kitchen for further cooking but the last thing i want to do is sending my meal back and putting my party of 8 in an awkward situation and likely embarking my host. On the positive side, service was excellent and the sides and dessert were tasty (although also expensive). The restaurant also appeared to have a top notch wine selection but I was not privy to the pricing (but I could certainly make a guess). Ambiance of the restaurant was very similar to many other steakhouses and nothing particularly special but certainly not unpleasant. In the end, I think the restaurant should take a look in the mirror on what justifies the outrageous pricing on its products...because the end product is not that special. I would certainly not return to the restaurant for myself or entertaining others.

I've been going to pappas bros for my entire young life in houston. its always a good experience. im always glad to go. its a nice envrionemnt.

We hosted another couple at this very well known restaurant. As we do not live in Houston,we were familiar with Pappas Bros only by reputation. We needed a quiet table as the noise level is high. I had called to reiterate this request and when we arrived we were led to a back room off the large, noisy main dining room.Even though diners at the next table enjoyed vibrant conversation, it was considerably quieter. Needless to say, the service was at a very high level and our server understood that we wanted to talk with our guests. The dishes were all excellent. My wife ordered the SeaBass( huge serving) while I had the Salmon with a seafood medley. Both were outstanding. A side of asparagus was scrumptious. Although the entries were delicious, what was most important to us was that the restaurant fulfilled our request for a quiet table in an almost boisterous venue.Well Done!

We usually go to the original location on Westhiemer. We had a concert to go to this evening. Been here a few times.Easy to get a reservation on a Saturday night, luckily. Easy valet parking, great bar area with a piano player. Seated quickly. Celebrating my sisters birthday..Waiter was pronto, asked about allergies, told us about the specials, brought our drinks and their awesome hot loaf of bread with real butter. We usually order and share. The filet are the best, though they have a complete assortment of dry and wet aged choice and cuts of beef. We split a 12 oz filet medium rare, and my favorite and best anywhere flash fried gulf oysters with a remoulade and cocktail choice of dipping sauces. Lightly battered and delicious. Order of the au gratin potatoes and the monster asparagus. All cooked to perfection. They asked us earrly on if we had a celebration and when we ordered dessert, the sticky gooey pecan pie alamode, they comped the desert. Great food, great night was had..

This resturaunt is one of our favorites to celebrate special occasions or enjoy a wonderful meal. We have been several times and the quality is always the excellent. The food is amazing, service outstanding and there is nothing the staff won’t do make sure the experience is amazing. The decor is amazing and the place is usually full, so plan ahead with a reservation on open table. Enjoy!

I joined 2 other out of town friends for dinner last night at Pappas Steakhouse downtown Houston. I must say that everything about the place, from food, to wine, to atmosphere and even the waiter were top notch. I had the Filet Mignon which was done to perfection, along with mushrooms that were out of this world. Their wine selection is so large, it was more like a book, so I relied on a recommendation from the waiter who provided an excellent choice of Cabernet. The only thing I didn't like were the prices, but then again, I think everything is too expensive. It is on par with all the other steak houses like Vic & Anthony's, Ruth Chris, Capital Grill, etc, but I still have a difficult time "swallowing" $55+ for a piece of meat. Fortunately, my associates were buying :-) As long as you are ok paying those prices for top of the line steaks, drinks and service, then I know you would be pleased with Pappas Bros.

I went here to celebrate for my anniversary dinner, I was not disappointed. Service was great and food was delicious. Steaks cooked to perfection, crab cakes were delicious. Side entrees were large enough were two people could have plenty. The ambiance could have been better, we were seated in what looked like a banquet room off to the left of the entrance. The price was as expected for a restaurant this caliber.

We had dinner before the theater. Aged filet and NY strip were well cooked with a nice sear and juicy interior. the creamed spinach was off, but the mushrooms were excellent. The sommelier was a great help, but the server was slow and made us late for the play. Ambiance was great.

The whole experience was amazing. The atmosphere, drinks, wait staff, food, and desserts. I can’t say enough wonderful things about our night spent here. Highly recommend.

I believe this to be all in the best steakhouse experience in Houston based on the combination of food quality, vibe, service, and price. As far as price, obviously this place is not cheap, but there are other places that are the same or more expensive that are not as good and don't make you feel as special. My visit here was to celebrate a special occasion. I did not tell the restaurant that ahead of time, but once the server found out, I felt that he went above and beyond to deliver a great experience. I have recommended this place to many people and will continue to do so!

We did a date night vacation dinner here and very much enjoyed it. Great hospitality and customer care. You can tell it has great management. Our Caesar salad was excellent but really the stars of the show were the 42 oz. Porterhouse steak and graham cracker crust cheesecake. The steak was cooked to perfection and was soooo good that we took the bone back to the hotel. The cheesecake was as good as I’ve had in quite a while. The crust was amazing!! I would say the sides (lobster Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes) were above average both nothing special. All in all, a great meal and experience here

We had a great meal at Pappas. We had gone to the restaurant on Westheimer for restaurant week but this was even better. Great food, great service and a great pianist. We really enjoyed the dinner.

I thought living in the Cayman Islands was expensive, well, for a steak, baked potato and one drink + gratuity, this was pricey. But hey, I treated myself and glad I did. Sat at the bar and had a wonderful filet. While busy, the gentleman behind the bar took great care of this single diner. Sometimes, you gotta splurge. One review here talks about "price gouging". . . . I can believe that. $12 for a sorbet, or cheesecake? Yes, I knew what I was getting into. Would not do it weekly, but did it this time.

The skillet potatoes are slices of potato (thin circles) that are cooked in a small skillet and were served perfectly crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I highly recommend!! Overall, we had a party of 8 and the experience was wonderful. The service was superb and the ambiance had a luxury feel without being over the top and felt of old-style steakhouse. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is that the steak wasn't so good that I'm already planning my next visit. The skillet potatoes were more memorable. At this price point, I would probably try a different high-end place next time.

My wife and I went to this steakhouse this weekend. It was great! Steaks were well cooked and had a great flavor. Staff was excellent as well. Can't wait to go back.

What an awesome old-school steakhouse. It's dark, it's loud and it is probably 85% men in here. But the food was wonderful. I enjoyed the 10 ounce filet, prepared just as I like it. Sides were fantastic, especially the (unhealthy) creamed spinach. Wedge salad was great too. I'll be back....maybe tonight!!

We had an early dinner. The wait staff was eager and invasive. The steak was overcooked and had to be sent back. Side orders are extra. They have an extensive wine collection.

What an evening. Excellent restaurant every time all times! Jared was our waiter and was excellent. Wonderful steaks and fine wine. Not inexpensive but worth it.

We have been to many of the finest steakhouses in different cities and states and I have to say Pappas Bros beats out everyone, including our home town favorite in San Antonio. Who would think that a steak that looked like it was only season with salt would have so much flavor but it goes to show just how much of a quality cut of beef this was! The wife and I shared a NY strip and I can’t stop thinking about it since we left. We will definitely be back for more and I am sure as hell getting my own next time!! I am not really going to speak about the sides or even the service because as one can imagine from an establishment like this everything was top notch and first class! Do yourself a favor and if you haven’t been get over there and indulge!!

My wife and I celebrated my 59th birthday at Pappas Bros Steakhouse. As usual the service was 2nd to none. The Chef Selection of Oysters were super fresh and the Akaushi Filet Mignon was so tasty and tender.

The atmosphere is good, it was busy with a nice vibe but really maybe this is normal for downtown Houston but the prices were very high and the quality of the steak did not really justify it. Also the portion sizes are large and impossible to finish so I hope they do something good with all the wasted food. I would say definitely not value for money

If you want an incredible dining experience, I would recommend setting a couple of hours aside to dine at this classic restaurant. The food was delicious and our server was helpful and patient as we asked a lot of questions about the menu. The staff was very accommodating with regards to food allergies as well.

I was in Houston for business. Walked down to Pappas Bros. I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye. It was phenomenal best steak I've ever had. The service was great. The hostess set me up in the bar/lounge area which is what I prefer when eating alone. The waitress was very accommodating, checked on me constantly. The free bread was warm and soft. I started with the shrimp cocktail which was on point, caesar salad, and the steak with a side of mashed. The sides are a la carte and meant to be shared so be prepared for that. I also had a Lagavulin and they offer a large ice cube with scotch. I wish I could go back tomorrow!

Business dinner while in Houston. Although a steakhouse, I had the snapper with crab meat lumps and it was exquisite. The ambiance is old school and the staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. Pricey, but a good experience

My boyfriend and I wanted to have a "classic steakhouse experience" in Houston and what we were given was an "exceptional dinner event". We were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and my birthday and the entire staff at Pappas Bros. made us feel very special. Traditionally we enjoy filet mignon, but with an excellent recommendation from our server we decided to try the dry-aged steaks. We had the 14oz Bone-In Filet Mignon as well as the 14oz Prime New York Strip and could not get over the flavours which emerged from the New York Strip. Our server also mentioned that if it was his last meal ever...he would have to have the Au Gratin Potatoes. Just as promised the potatoes made the perfect accompaniment to the savory steak. My boyfriend never asks for food to go home, but with all of the delicious dishes, we got ourselves a pretty nice breakfast combo of steak, mushrooms (loved these) and potatoes for the next morning. We highly recommend their dry aged prime New York strip steak as it's the best we've ever had.

Another visit smashed out of the park. What do you say about a restaurant that delivers everything. If you want top class single malts and great brandy here is your home. The service just exemplary and the food perfect. Cannot find fault with anything. Yes it’s expensive but you get what you pay for. Looking forward to the next visit.

We spent a very enjoyable evening dining on excellent steaks, crab cakes, mushrooms, potatoes au gratin and an upside down pecan pie! I would gladly recommend this restaurant!

I ate here while attending a business meeting in Houston. Restaurant was within easy walking distance of downtown hotels. Food and service was great. I'd recommend this restaurant if you are staying in the downtown Houston area.

Sat at the bar for something to eat after a ballgame. Nice that is open late. Comfortable restaurant with nice service. Really enjoyed the filet and grilled mushrooms.

This place is probably the best place for steak in Houston. We celebrated my wife’s birthday here because she wanted a whole lobster which is also on the menu. Her lobster was done perfectly, and she a very picky lobster eater. My son, his wife and I all had steak...one filet and two ribeyes. These were also done to perfection. Our waiter was very attentive without being obtrusive while we celebrated. We got a free chocolate dessert for the birthday girl but we shared the calories. The only complaint is that it is a little pricey, but we knew that before going. The lobster is priced per pound, but they only had 2.5 and 3 pound lobsters, so beware of the total cost.

Historically this was a very nice place....unfortunately my last two visits have been disappointing. They just don't seem to working together as a team. My waiter was nice enough but the service wasn't good. What sealed the fate was the fact it took nearly an hour for our food to be served. The appetizers came out timely but the steaks seemed to take forever. I finally asked how things were coming and he explained there had been a problem but he had a surprise for me that would make everything right. When he did present our steaks he included an additional side of mushrooms. Really?

Came for celebration, ordered cream brule from desserts menu list and it came without cookies, which were advertised on the menu . Richard fixed this fast and professionally. In this place you feel important, you know what I mean. What matters in a nice restaurant is not only the food but the attention and atmosphere.

Possibly in the country. I say that because Florence has pretty darn good beef. But for Houston Texas this is the go to gold stands for dry aged prime beef. Get the big ribeye, medium rare please, creamed spinach, au gratin potatoes and a bottle of Napa Cab. Caymus works. And you’ll have the best meal of your life, guaranteed.

We were in Houston a very short period of time, and I'm glad we chose Pappas Bros. as the place we would find a great steak. Iris was a great server and made our dining experience special. The food was outstanding!

Drove into Houston To join my daughter for dinner. This location is by far the best in terms of atmosphere vs the other Houston location. Being able to get a high quality glass of wine without having to purchase an entire bottle was a plus. My strip was cooked to order medium rare plus and the wedge salad could have been split. The Roquefort cheese and bacon made that iceberg lettuce so much better.

We usually visit the Westheimer location to celebrate our anniversary. On this occasion we were guests for a luncheon. Our first impression was by the size of this location; almost twice the size of the other location. The decor was elegant without being overstated. We were in a private dining area at the rear of the restaurant. Everything was lovely! The food was outstanding as well as the service. Pappas Bros. has another diamond in their culinary crown!

My waitress was outstanding, even though I was on the phone! She made great suggestions! I went for the scallops...which were really tasty and with a mild spice . The filet was cooked to perfection, and I found it to be tasty too! It’s not dry aged, but I didn’t care! She recommended the Brussel sprouts, with the lemon soy vinaigrette ....they were as good as I’ve ever had! The bourbon selection was top notch and the prices on that was very reasonable. Overall, a very good experience! I will come again! The bread, which apparently non of us should eat anymore, was really good, and very filling....going to the gym now!

Went there with my working colleagues just after arriving in town, I shared a great tomahawk steak and enjoyed it very much. Very good steakhouse.

We had dinner there on our last night in Houston and it was great. the steak was perfect and the atmosphere and service second to none. rather pricy but then you pay for what you get. The longest wine list I have seen with pries from $35 to .....

Pappas Bros. Stakehouse is a perfect place to enjoy fresh and delicious stake. My order was 10 oz fillet stake crusty from outside and very tender from inside... I came all the way from Saudi Arabia just to reward myself with this pice of stake

Ordered Lam chops , they were superb ,very good service !!!!!!! Love the place. I will go back to visit for sure soon.

I first experienced Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Dallas on NYE. I just relocated to Houston from the Pacific NW and decided to celebrate my move at Pappas Bros. Keith, our waiter, took excellent care of us. We started with the fried oysters. They were superb. I had the 12 oz ribeye, asparagus, mashed potatoes and I had to try the crab mac & cheese. I ordered my steak medium well. It was slightly overcooked but still full of flavor and very tender. The mashed potatoes were average and the asparagus too. I enjoyed the mac and cheese. It was a nice play on traditional lobster mac & cheese. My sister and I enjoyed a bottle of Malbec that was very good. It was full body without an aftertaste and smooth. I finished with the pecan pie. It was VERY different. It was only the pie filling. The pecans were added as a topping that was strewed all over the plate. I think I prefer the traditional pecan pie. In summary, I enjoyed it but the one in Dallas was much better.

It has been a long time since I left a restaurant as impressed as I was last night. The ambiance, service, piano player that played throughout our entire meal, menu choices, and liquor selections were all top notch. From the crab cakes to the filet to the SALADS (seriously the beefsteak tomato salad could have been my meal alone) all incredible. Sides large enough to share family style. I can NOT say enough amazing things. You will spend a lot of money for a dinner. It will be worth every penny. Sad I’m in town for a conference and can’t appreciate this restaurant on a more regular basis. PS: we did not see young children but did see teenagers; dress was both super casual and formal

Mother’s Day dinner on Saturday evening. The cocktails were great and the oysters were excellent. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, the steaks were delicious and prepared to perfection. The wine list was great. Our first trip to Houston, and this meal made it an outstanding celebration!

Honestly I was having a nice meal having flown in from Chicago. The steak was good, the potatoes ok and the wedge salad fantastic. Until the bill came and lo instead of $15 I was charged $20. Now $5 when you’re eating at Pappas is no significant BUT they should tell you that adding bacon to the salad is an extra $5 though I must admit I’ve never even heard of a wedge salad without bacon but if it’s extra they have to tell you it’s extra. This is the kind of underhandedness one would not expect at a good steakhouse and I don’t like to leave a meal feeling manipulated. Plenty of restaurants without such sleaze so won’t go back to any Pappas restaurants.

10th anniversary celebration and this place lived up to our expectations. The deviled eggs with bacon are an absolute must try. Crab leg and skillet potatoes were also delicious. Service was impeccable and the manager delivered a peach cobbler with "Happy Anniversary" beautifully decorated in chocolate. This place is absolutely worth the splurge for a special occasion, important meeting etc. The decor is well thought out and staff is warm and welcoming.

Pappas has a well-deserved reputation for outstanding cuts of meat cooked to perfection. Their wine selection is pretty much second to none. Where they falter is in trying to be all things to all people. For example, my table was near the bar by the kitchen, so I had to change my chair to avoid the distraction of the MMA fight on the bar TV. Another distraction: the lovely 40s songbook and big band music playing in the background was fine... until the pianist in the lounge started playing. They didn’t turn off the canned music, only offering to change my profile so that next time I get put off in a side room. That’s not the right answer. You pay far too much - and I don’t mind paying - for these distractions to be there. I guess much if their business is corporate and large groups so the attention goes there.

What to say about this popular Houston steakhouse. I would rather write a glowing review of our recent dinner, but unfortunately, I just can't. My filet mignon had grizzle. Not a good way to start the entree. I've never had filet mignon that was anything but succulent and easy to chew. Our server was attentive - overly so.And quite chatty as well. We were given a complimentary dessert and wished to share it with friends at the bar, but it 'disappeared' after being delivered by our server, never to be seen again. We had late reservations and the restaurant was emptying out. I really never appreciate anyone sweeping near my table when I am still dining. This just shouldn't be happening in an upscale restaurant. Just so may things that took away from our long awaited Pappas Brothers dining experience, unfortunately.

We have dined at the Westheimer location, so we thought we would try the one downtown with some friends. It was a great visit! Each couple split their own tomahawk ribeye and a beefsteak tomato salad, and all four of us split the key lime pie. For sides, we had crab macaroni & cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and some off-the-menu brussels sprouts. Everything was at least very good, but the sides actually outshone the steak. Don't get me wrong, now. The steak was quite good and perfectly cooked, but I expected more out of a highly celebrated, dry-aged, prime ribeye. It sort of felt like a case of "sell the sizzle, not the steak." That's actually rather harsh, as I did not feel cheated, but it was a little bit of a letdown. Service was excellent, all around. The sommelier was outstanding. We told him what we were thinking about eating, what we liked in a wine, and what our price range was. He immediately gave a recommendation that turned out to be perfect. Bravo! The location is not bad, but it's not great. While the ambiance is more "steakhouse" than the Strip House was (and that was almost barn-like), it's still just . . . okay--nothing special. Valet parking is $10, but there tends to be fairly ample street or less expensive lot parking close by.

We reserved our table through open table, were seated about 20 minutes late, but, it was a Saturday night. We thought the service was excellent, but the menu was pricey compared to other similar steak houses we have visited. With only one glass of wine, expect to pay over 200.00 for a couple. I doubt we will go back.

Went last night for the first time. Based on the reputation, I was expecting something extraordinary, but it was just OK even if you didn't consider the price (~$250 with tip for for two); essentially the same quality of food as a Saltgrass, but at a Morton's price. I ordered the Ribeye, which was not tender and had a significant glob of just fat at the end. Mushrooms were far too salty and the oversize asparagus had no flavor (hint Pappas, smaller stalks are more flavorful). One last thing owners, look up "sound deadening materials" on Google and apply liberally.

I dined here for a business meal with a party of six. I've always been a fan of Pappas Bros., and this location does not disappoint. They do an excellent job catering to the business crowd. The service was superb. All of us enjoyed our meals; the steaks were cooked perfectly. Outstanding downtown steakhouse.

I’m very finicky when it comes to steaks and I thought it was awesome. I had a ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. The potato risotto was always amazing. Service was great and I would definitely go back.

This restaurant gets a lot of publicity and is very good. More selections than just fish and steak, but fish and steak are why you come here. We were with a group, so we started off with their stacked mixed seafood platter. Crab claws, lobster tails, shrimp, all good. The steak selections are both on and off the bone. Never had a fillet on the bone before, different. Extensive wine list and an impressive 'wall of wine' cooler. Good desserts. My wife had the gooey pecan pie. Enough for both of us. Good service. Not cheap, but worth trying at least once.

Well, YUM! We snagged a table in the wine room area on a crazy busy night. Perfect for our family time. Tasty wine and steak. Ended with creamy key lime pie. Excellent service. We were glad we made the effort to be festive!

The atmosphere, food was good, since we went there to celebrate my wife's birthday, there took care of the dessert^^

Enjoyed the best steak , however next time I try the burger as that looked great and burgers are 1/2 price during happy hour!

Well you have to have one blowout meal on holiday and we chose Pappas Bros for a slap up steak. It proved to be a great choice. Book ahead as the place was rammed, we only had to wait about five to ten minutes for a table. Even with it largely being steaks there was a lot to choose from. The waiter went through the cuts and where the steaks came from which I guess is a bit of Americana for you. Personally I had the duo of filet medallions as they came with crab and some other seafood delights. It was very good indeed. All of us enjoyed what we had. The sides are all extra but it was pointed out that one side would more than feed two people. Perhaps the only drawback was that it was very dark with, I guess, "mood lighting" being the order of the day. It's also very loud, in terms of ambience, which I didn't mind but isn't perhaps what all would want.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary and first off the staff both waiters and managers was the best service we have ever had hands down. We are been to all the best steak house's Houston has to offer. The Filet my wife and I each had where the best we have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly and the flavor was amazing, king crab amazing, even the wedge salad was best I've had. All around tied for the top meal we have ever had but with the service it was #1!!!!!!

Pappas Brothers is the best steak in town, possibly the country. They take steak seriously, with in house dry aging for 28 days. And you can really taste the difference. If you like ribeye, look no further, they do the best ribeye perfectly seared crust in their mega hot ovens, and tender juicy flavorful on the inside. Cooked perfectly every single time. Get the cheezy potatoes and creamed spinich - 2 classics done the best. And they have in house pastry chefs making amazing desserts. Incredible wine list, although very pricey they have a nice $100 and under selection. Ask for their featured cab by the glass, they usually offer some high end pours - like Caymus and Silver Oak by the glass. Best overall experience, both locations are great. Best management and wait staff in the city. My #1 steak place.

Had a delicious steak dinner cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere, perfect place to celebrate a special occasion

This is the best steakhouse in town. The service was impeccable, from the hostess, to waiter, the wine sommelier, right down to the busboy. No better service could possibly be had. Everyone genuinely greeted us, and we lacked for nothing. Napkins were placed on our laps, and the wonderful dining experience began. Yeah! The atmosphere was inviting, romantic, and designed to give the guests enough privacy to enjoy each others company and conversation....definitely a special occasion go to place. The lobster bisque was to die for, and it was the best we ever had. It was rich with flavor, plenty of lobster, but too rich so that you could enjoy the rest of your meal. Our waiter had suggested their duck gumbo as it was only offered a few times a year. We asked to sample the gumbo and the bisque, and our waiter very graciously agreed. We were glad we chose the bisque, just a personal preference. The other couple had a steakhouse salad, and they were very happy with it. My date ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with Maine lobster, and I ordered the special of filet mignon with bernaise sauce with crab meat atop green pea risotto. My date was very pleased with his sea bass and lobster, and I absolutely loved my plate. The other couple both ordered filet mignon, and all our steaks were cooked on point. Pappa Bros. serves dry aged prime on their menu, but I did see wagyu beef in the display case. It's nice to know you can upgrade if preferred. We shared sides of au gratin potatoes, jumbo asparagus, which were pretty standard, but we had a killer mac and cheese with lump crabmeat. That was so, so good. All their desserts were large enough to share and very beautifully presented with fresh berries. The gooey pecan pie was deconstructed with no crust, candied pecans, the custard, a toffee brittle atop, and a caramel sauce. Way, way too sweet for me. The mammoth NY cheesecake (5 to 6 inches tall) was dense and creamy and what all cheesecakes should be about. The chocolate turtle pie with cream aglaise and butter pecan ice cream was my preferred choice. Everyone of these desserts would have you in sugar overload if you tried to finish them yourselves. The Barrett vineyard cab that we had was simply delightful.....smooth, full bodied, and great mouth feel. It's a bit pricey at $150 a bottle, but worth the splurge if you have the bucks.

I went to Pappas Bros many years ago while on business in Houston as the best steak place ever at that time. So decided to see if this was still the case. We decided to go to the new location (I was told it opened 2 years ago). Was able to book for dinner the same day even though it was Saturday. Friendly “check in” and actually fun to sit at the bar area while waiting to be seated - was only ten minutes. We got a nice table in the “terrace” type part. Service was slow first (the place was completely full) but our waiter was so friendly that it did not bother us. Then everything went very smoothly. Great selection of wine. Sommelier was very friendly and helpful - he quickly understood what I wanted and the price range and recommended a perfect bottle of wine exactly what I wanted. Same with our waiter - we asked for the best option for a steak for our different taste preferences and two of us went for a 26 once porterhouse to share. They are very proud of their meat and they should be. Our steak was perfect and the price was really reasonable for the steak of such size and such quality. Side dishes are huge so be ready for that but nicely done (asparagus was also perfect). We skipped appetizers but everything looked delicious. Also, this place did not feel “pretentious” as some high end steak places feel sometimes - really friendly comfortable relaxed atmosphere.

Wow, I can't really tell how much I liked the steak, the place, the service and the wines. The filet mignon I had was just extremely tender, I didn't even have to apply any pressure to the knife. And the wines? Big book as a "Winelist" where I found "1996 Wight-Man CabSav" and "1998 Keenan Zinfandel", both alive, properly stored and in perfect shape! I've never tried a Zin that old and was not even sure it could be stored for that long, but they both were impeccable! The service exceeded our expectations and despite being pricey, this place was packed and it was not even a weekend or Friday. Save some money and visit it if you are in Houston and save even more if you are a wine lover as you'll find quite a few things to amuse yourself there. 5 stars!

It was excellent. I had the crab cake appetizer, and it was all jumbo lump crab. For dinner I had a fillet and my husband had the lamb chops. Now, I’m not a big fan of lamb, but they were the best I’ve ever tasted. I would order them next time, they were that good. The desserts were huge, I’d say enough for four. The service was incredible. Our waiter even gave us a tour of the restaurant since it was our first visit. Plan to spend a little time and enjoy a luxurious meal and service. Not really for kids. Unfortunately, there was a child seated next to us with a very loud video game. Everything is a la carte.

Had much higher expectations. We went to celebrate a special occasion on a Saturday night, 7:30 pm. Arrived on time but our table was not available yet so we had to wait at the bar. When our table was eventually ready, we were asked to pay for the drinks at the bar before we had actually finished them and before we could sit at the table. Tacky. We also observed that at least 60% of patrons were dressed as slobs. T-shirts, flannels, running pants, sneakers... even a guy in cammo pantsand trek shoes. We sat next to a table with young children watching cartoons on their ipads and making noise. We may as well have gone to McDonalds. Meat was rather sinewy. Needed to be better salted. Had the New York and Prime. Not acceptable at the prices charged. Asparagus is advertised as jumbo on the menu but we got regular, overcooked vegetables... Was the kitchen having an off day? On a more positive note, our waiter gave us impeccable service and the wine was very good. Unfortunately, I will not be back nor will I recommend the place.

For a business meeting, we requested a private room for five. The service was superb, even to the point of the waiter noticing that we were using computers and immediately supplying us with cables to connect to the large screen TV in the room. The sommelier was very pleasant and helpful as was our waiter. The food was served at the proper tempo for us, great recommendations were made, and the whole experience was 5 star. I would add that the main dining room was extraordinarily noisy, and although we could shut the doors to our room to enable discussion, this is not the place for a romantic dinner or quiet conversation. The atmosphere is typical steakhouse, though, lively and fun.

Classic American steakhouse ala Gibson's, Morton's etc. Great friendly service, oyster selection was amazing and then meat, bread and verges!!! Come with an appetite because everything is big in Texas! My bone in fillet was chosen because I couldn't handle my standard bone in rib eye. Go for the rib eye. Beans on the side were perfect and the wine list absurdly amazing! Wish I was an alcoholic!! Could have stayed all night. Another great American steakhouse!!! Enjoy

We went here for restaurant weeks...set 3 course menu for a set price. Both the steaks offered, the filet and the strip are almost as much as the 3 course menu so it a great deal and Pappas donates anout 18% f the dinner cost to the Houston food bank. We try and come here when they run this special because this a quality restaurant, with a great ambiance and impeccable service and we wish we could afford it more often. The real treat is the food. We had the turtle soup and I had the strip while everyone else had fillet. We also got a side of Mac and cheese and brussels. Our server error was nice enough to bring an additional desert, turtle pie....yummy. The service we received form Phillip was great with him or an assistant attending to our every need without being bothersome. We never felt rushed and actually spent about 2 1/2 hours at our table just visiting and never feeling rushed. This is a class act restaurant that's expensive but if that's what you want it worth every penny.

It was our first time going to Pappa’s because I knew how expensive the food was and had decided it was meant for a special occasion in our family. Being my mom’s birthday, she’s worth the big ticket meal! Every single person who works there impressed us with their warm, inviting smiles and eager desire for our experience to be the very best! Their attention to detail in every aspect of the dining ambience from decor to the carefully placed items on our table were perfectly executed, giving us a step back into that time of charm when men were gentlemen and women were ladies. The service by everyone from the door greeter, and hostess who walked us to our table, our bartender, Jasmine, with his welcoming greetings and perfectly made cocktails while we waited for our table was just the opening touch that told us we were in for a real pleasure of a dining experience! Our table attendants should be NINJAS, by the way they skillfully glide in and out, placing warm bread and water to greet us and how they never let our water go below halfway!! And then there was Lily. Our server, Lily began and ended our special night at that table with such a sunshine of a smile and professional warmth! Her knowledge about the food, from the special all the way through to the desserts she presented was articulated perfectly and precisely, and her attention to us throughout our experience was so perfectly timed between our visits from the attendants that it seemed a perfectly choreographed dance between them! And the FOOD! Every single bite from appetizer, salad, entree to dessert was mouth watering perfection! The cold food was perfectly chilled, the hot food was perfectly hot enough, fresh from the grill and stove to the table but not so hot that it burned, and steaks were cooked exactly as per our request! My mom enjoyed every minute of our experience at Pappa’s and I was so glad I made the choice to come!! I’ve experienced a variety of food at many different places, but this was by far the best experience of dining excellence in every single aspect of service and food preparation and presentation. At Pappa’s on McKinney, you get way more than what you’re paying for!!!

We split king crab legs and a strip steak. The steak was outstanding! The crab legs, served cold, were disappointing (very salty) and very expensive. The key lime pie dessert and side of Brussels sprouts were excellent. Service also very good. Expensive.

Filet was excellent. Sides were good. Tuna was cold, but had potential. Great atmosphere. Wine list was decent. Didn’t have the bottle I asked for that was on the menu. I would go again.

The 5 rating because they nailed the crucial areas, service, quality food and great ambiance & service. My wife and I sat at the bar. Chairs were comfortable and there was good space between patrons. My wedge salad was fresh, crispy iceberg lettuce and perfectly with perfectly cooked bacon but at $19.95 it was pricey. We shared a side of the wild mushrooms and they were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Now the important part, the steaks. My 16oz ribeye was delicious, cooked perfectly at medium throughout the entire streak. It had a huge end cap portion that was all meat and no fat, with full bodied flavor, wow! Service was courteous, professional and attentive. A wonderful evening with great ambiance in stylish modern decor.

We were able to get a sitter and wanted to enjoy dinner downtown. We walked in and didn’t have to wait too long to get a table considering it was a Saturday night. I like the layout of this restaurant compared to the Galleria location, this one seems more open and spacious plus the Christmas decor was so elegant and warm. We started with a cheese tray which was superb! The crab claws we could have done without but I ordered right on the money with the 6 oz of A5 on a salt slab- it was delicious! Overall, I really enjoyed the ambience which added to my meal with friends.

I visited this location for a business dinner for a medium sized group. I recognize the challenges of serving large tables, and was prepared for a bit of a fall off from the service i normally expect. However, the service was just off on this visit. For example, the gentleman that seated us correctly noted that two of us were wearing dark slacks and offered a dark napkin. He took the white one and we never saw him again. When i requested one, it still took awhile. Much of the food took a really long time to emerge, and not in a relaxed this is a leisurely meal way, but rather in a "where the heck are the salads" way. The service wasn't what i would call "bad", but just not up to the standards i would expect at this price point. The wine list is voluminous, but way overloaded in extremely high price point wines. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that they need those wines for this venue, especially in a downtown setting, but I would expect the sommelier to have some hidden gem $100 wines. When i asked the one on duty for assistance, the selections he came up with were not great, that was two separate bottles. The food was very good, standard steak house menu executed well.

Our tour guide recommended Pappas steakhouse for a classy romantic night with my wife. We were not disappointed. The décor and service were amazing. The food was even better. I could see myself coming here after a Rockets basketball game. We need more locations like this in Houston.

First time, and it won't be the last. Started off with a few drinks that were really good. The steaks were prepared and cooked to perfection. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Thanks Pappas Bros.

Very impressed by the ambiance inside the restaurant. Wonderful pianist and lighting. This is the date night go to kinda place you pull expect....hits all the right buttons with service, looks and PRICE....and the Husband (meat eater) gets his meat and drink on while the spouse gets the fancy. Had the margarita and it was sensational. Asked for a platinum version of the Pappasitos margarita and at the bar they nailed it! Asked for a wine to be paired with my meal selection. Gave preferences....like Concha de Torro and red. Maybe a Cab. Was brought two too taste and a third when I couldn’t make up my mind. 2nd choice was the best...a 2016 Yantra recommend by my server and a perfect pairing and yummy to drink while waiting for my food. Bacon wrapped scallops for appetizer....amazing!!! Perfect right down to the yummy garlic bread underneath. Ordered a cliche 22oz Bone-in Ribeye medium rare and the first attempt was over cooked....Almost medium well and 1st replacement was closer to rare....experience was Trouble free and apologetic.....and honestly they stood behind getting it right. I must say I have worked Gourmet for years and eaten on every continent except Antartica (bucket list) from no stars to 6 and the attitude and service complete trumps getting a steak right the first time. By the third try....perfection. Taste, temp and visit by manager. Sides were the off menu Brussels sprouts with pork belly......freaking good but not the best I’ve had. Grapejuice in Kerrville, TX. The best ever. Grapejuice Just gets the crispy down to a science there. Again cliche...also had the augratin potato’s and these were awesome and flavorful. The cheddar cheese topping had a touch too much salt on top but you know what....still Very good! Excellent actually...just not perfect! Recommend you get the extra side of sour cream...really balanced the flavor. I did not eat all my sides and meat as the portions are more than enough for two-three very hungry adults AND I wanted dessert. Ok shoot me for over indulging! I ordered the peanut butter (and Chocolate) cake/tart for dessert based on manager (20year plus pastry chef signature dish) recommendation that is apparently not usually available because it sells out so quickly. It was incredible. Explosions of peanut butter cups, cheesecake and Oreos all in my mouth all at once and the portion like everything else was monstrous. Dress up, bring a date (or two) to this place for a special occasion and order for one. The portions are extremely huge. A very cliche expensive date night kinda place and worth “almost” every dollar! Make sure you ask for Brittany she was an incredible server as was her management. Job well done Pappas Bros. Steakhouse!

Pappas Bros Steakhouse delivers an upscale and delicious dining experience. I wanted steak for my last dinner while visiting in Houston and was recommended to try Pappas Bros Steakhouse. I enjoyed both the meal and service.

From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left it was perfection. Greeted by name by hostess, server was subtle yet very responsive, food was divine - we got the rack of lamb carved table side and it was worth every penny. Cocktails were perfect and we finished the meal with a Scotch flight to go with our pecan pie. The presentation of the Scotch flight was worth it on its own, and I don't even drink Scotch. Can't wait to go back.

I was in Houston for the Final Four. This was my first time eating here. I had reservations so I was seated quickly. Service was exceptional. And the food was delicious. The atmosphere was classy. I would definitely eat here again whenever I am back in town.

Came here after lots of lectures in the ASN in George Brown conference centre. We wanted some 12oz filet mignon with au gratin potatoes and spinach. Chelsea our host was efficient with her team. Overall a great dining experience with live music from pianist. The steak was the best we had here tonight.

I traveled solo to Houston, and I love steakhouses. I took a seat in the bar, right next to the piano. The piano player showed up at 6pm, and on her first break, we chatted. I was in town for the Van Gogh exhibit, so on her next set, she started with Starry Starry Night. I'm a bit timid traveling solo, so it's nice to be chatted up and acknowledged that way when I'm out of town. And, btw, the steak was fantastic.

It was fantastic! From the moment you arrive at the door, hostesses are ready to welcome you into a pleasant atmosphere. The hostess brought us a cute and very unique flower bouquet as an anniversary gift. It was such a great detail! Our server Travis went above and beyond to answer our menu questions, which is very important to us. He treated us very well. Our meals were WOW! I had the filet with crabmeat on top, it was delicious! My husband had the bone-in ribeye and he cannot stop talking about it! For dessert, we had a chef's selection chocolate cheesecake-special of the night- just amazing! Overall, we will definitely be back!

Best steaks and wine list in Houston! The attention to detail and the service levels make Pappas a special place.

I gave this restaurant a 5 star but I would have given it higher if I had that options.this was our first visit but it won’t be the last. The atmosphere was great. The prime ribeye was to die for. Our waiter Austin was very efficient and attentive. The desserts were amazing. We shared the oogy pecan pie. Absolutely amazing. My compliments to the chef.

Last night's company Xmas dinner in a private room was spectacular. Server SUMMER was the best I have ever experienced; particularly for a large group-flawless service, fantastic food and portions. My new must go downtown. Do NOT forget to order the cheesecake...

ask for daemian, he was the best! i really liked the ambiance of the restaurant, the porterhouse steak was prepared just right. beware - huge proportions! we were so full that we had to miss out on desserts haha would definitely visit again

Perfect service and perfect steak. Convenient to plays and hotels. Great selection of magnums and all food was Quality and Quantity. I have been to a lot of steak places yet this is best yet! Better than Ruth Chris and Mortons which are close by.

I always wanted to try Texas steak so while I’m not sure this is authentic, it is a popular chain here and ranked pretty high here. Plus, it was literally across the street from my hotel so very convenient for me. While I can’t say it’s the best steak that I ever tasted, it is up there. Very finely cooked ribeye and while expensive, well worth the price. I also like the fois gras appetizer but felt the octopus might be better. It’s definitely not a common appetizer for a steakhouse. The ambiance is absolutely perfect for me. Dark ivy league oak and dimly lit. The bar is nice and big and I got a great seat at the end of the bar. There is even a piano player here. Everything about this place oozes class. This was the perfect dinner before heading over to the basketball game.

Anniversary dinner with reservation. Waited 15 minutes for our table. Ushered to table facing kitchen service entrance. Asked to rearrange seating to face away from kitchen door. Cocktails were good. Wedge salad excellent. Porterhouse was nicely cooked but lacked a good crust, was very tender, but almost flavorless. Loaded baked potato was large and tasty but with sloppy presentation. Wine service was slow, arriving half way through eating the steak. Finished with chocolate dipped strawberries, compliment’s of the restaurant for our anniversary which was very nice.

You can't get a bad steak in Houston so if you're going to rate a steak house it's going to have to be really special to get high marks, it's a comparitive thing. So the place has a really nice atmosphere. The staff are great. The food is very good but so it should be as it isn't a budget meal by any means. I had a Ribeye which was good but again in comparison with what I have had at many other steakhouses in Houston it was run of the mill. I would go back again but wouldn't make a special effort.

Yup, it’s expensive...butttttt...the service and food is superb! Big portions with excellent presentation and taste. This is the Houston place for steaks. Easily accessible from hotels surrounding the convention center. Great place for business and friends.

The service was good at Pappa's, and the food was hot. The steak was undercooked, and for the price I would have expected more. so please watch this when ordered. I tried the raspberry sorbet for dessert. It was beautifully presented in a chocolate bowl and quite tasty.

We celebrated our anniversary at Pappa's Bros. Steakhouse last night in downtown Houston. Why not do the best? This is a dining experience second to NONE. First it's downtown, and we love going to downtown Houston on Saturday nights, there is so much going on. Second, it's a beautiful restaurant. Third, the wait staff is fantastic. And finally -- the food is to DIE FOR. Mainly steaks (hey it's a steakhouse!) but all the trimmings too. The crab mac 'n cheese is heavenly. Staying on the crab trend, the crab cakes for an appetizer were the best we've ever had, anywhere. We found ourselves next to a large table of people in an celebratory mood, and after our appetizers, we asked to be moved...we were whisked to a table in a quiet part of the restaurant in mere seconds. Then our steaks arrived, and the evening's experience rose a notch...just spectacular. Our waiter was Devin T. and when we return we will ask for one of his tables specifically - what a hard working, pleasant, and accommodating waiter! For a great overall steak dining experience in Houston, you can't do better than this. 5 stars to Pappas! Best restaurant in the best city in the USA - Houston,Texas. Thanks for a great anniversary dinner!

We have been coming to this Pappas Bros steakhouse for our anniversary for several years running now and are never disappointed. Excellent service, food and wine selections. This trip out we had a beefsteak tomato salad and a lobster, both of which were excellent.

This restaurant serves only the best cuts of steak you can find. Cooked to perfection every time. Delicious side orders. This is a special place. Not cheap but worth the cost.

At age 61 and having traveled extensively and eaten in many excellent restaurants, Pappas is at the top of the list with Bern's Steakhouse in Florida and The French Laundry in California. There were servers everywhere anticipating your every need. The manager makes a point of speaking with most of the patrons and seems to do something special for everyone. There's an energy that makes the setting exciting without being annoying. It's sophisticated without being stuffy. I could go on and on about the food but suffice it to say it's truly excellent. It's worth it to read about the history of the restaurant and how they obtain their organic, garden-to-table food (even having their own cattle). Their wine list is so extensive I highly recommend you look at it on line prior to coming to save a little time. They have the only 3 bottles of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon in Texas - expect to pay for that privilege but it's worth it to say you had it. Reservations are hard to get so plan to call as soon as you can. Our evening was a culinary experience that we will never forget.

Pappas offer the best dry aged steaks in town. It is cooked to order and served in style! Our server Derek was attentive to a fault. The manager came twice to ensure our satisfaction. Their Manhattan was one of the best I have had. We were there to celebrate our anniversary, and every one from the front desk, manager, wait staff, and even valet wished us well! We have been to other steakhouses, but this stands out. Quality of food, attentive service and personalised approach makes this my favourite place to visit.

steak was good , sides not so good , service ok ,very noisy ,and for what me and 9 other people received not worth the price further more 2 couples that were with us got cut off because they ordered to much in the allowed time ,not sure what that is

Really great restaurant. The food, the service and the place were excellent. The ambience is pleasant.

Probably the best meal we've ever had in our lives. The steak was top notch, the wine selection amazing and the service second to none. The staff looked after us so well, the tables were set to perfection and the food was just divine. the best, wow!

After superior dinind experience at Pappas Steakhouse on Westheimer by Galleria, I tried Pappas Steakhouse downtown Houston. Appetizer and steak were good as expected. Service was not up to standards of Galleria location. It took 25 minutes to receive dessert, and the slice of cheesecake was about half the size of that at Westheimer location.

Experience was what you should expect for a high end steak place. Steaks were really good and the sides were ample for a number to share. Really like the broiled wild mushrooms. Pricing was as expected with food tab running 80-90 per person. It was hard to find a good wine that was less than in the 150-200+ range. They had quite a number that were 400, 800+ and up to $2900 per bottle. Wine really upped the bill.

This is the PERFECT place for a romantic date! There is definitely a dress code majority of people adhered to. This was the first steak I had that wasn’t over cooked; it was actually seasoned to perfection. The ambiance is perfect. The staff is very attentive to guests. If it wasn’t for the price, I would visit this place all the time.

If you are craving a good steak and are in the downtown Houston area i recommend you try Pappas Bros. Ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly. Also had a side of mashed potatoes and string beans. There was a man playing a piano. It was rather loud. So if you come and want to have a nice conversation, i recommend a table that has some distance from the piano. The service was good.

this was a first trip to this Pappas Bros. Steakhouse location. We have been to the Westheimer location a number of times. The food was the same excellent quality that we have experienced in the past. Our server Melissa was attentive without being a distraction. The only negative was how loud the room was. I have experiences this in other Pappas restaurants but was disappointed at the noise level for this high end restaurant. If you do not want to use the valet parking ($10), there is a parking garage just across the street.

Dinner last night was absolutely delicious!! Elegant restaurant without freeing arrogant. Robert, our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and personable making our dining experience excellent. Cocktails were made to perfection, Blanton Old Fashion was great, The Margarita my husband ordered was the best I've ever had!! I recommend the Crab cake appetizers. The caviar and accompaniments were delish. If available, hands down the A5 Waygu strip steak served on a slab of Himalayan sea salt was out of this World. Literally melted in your mouth like butter!! Very, very rich steak, don't be fooled by portion. We had a party of five, everyone's steak was perfectly cooked. The sides were all great, au gratin potatoes, crab man n cheese, creamed spinach. The wine list is extensive, may want to review before you go. The bottle of wine we ordered was placed in a carafe to aerate while we enjoyed cocktails. Again, service was impeccable!! You can't go wrong ordering anything here. As mentioned in other reviews it is very pricey so be prepared to spend accordingly. Can't wait to return. Very memorable experience.

Came here for a great New Year’s Eve dinner and it did not disappoint! They had a pre fix menu, but it still had quite a few options!! By the time the second course arrived I was getting full! Everything we ate was amazing!! This was not my first time here and it def won’t be my last!! I can’t wait until our next visit!!

Great food and great service! Nice atmosphere for a fun night or a business dinner. Everything was great on the menu.

Bar area as great as dining. Amazing wine list. Steaks were superb. Even kids friendly. Service excellent. Best meal in Houston.

This was my first time at the McKinney St. location and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you are well taken care of and well fed! My husband and I got the steak and the king crab legs, as well as, a few different appetizers. My hesitation with ordering any type of crab usually at a restaurant is the work of getting the meat out of the shell, however, someone comes and cracks them table side for you. So delicious! Also the location is very close to Discovery Green which offers lots of entertainment opportunities to enjoy before/after dinner.

As if it weren’t enough that these guys had an outstanding quality steaks, they also demonstrated an incredible – for our times – level of service. Everything was taken care of, no little detail was left unattended, the corners of the crispy white linen on the table properly aligned, the napkins starched, all tableware in beautiful presentation, cleaning properly the table, including from crumbs, attentive and courteous servers, an extraordinary wine list of about 4,000 entries with choices for every wallet, well, almost every one ;) My only drudge is the darkness – they participate in the current war on light, I don’t know why: beautiful surroundings, great food, why hide it? Delightful experience, I’ll remember it for a long time.

This steakhouse is VERY good. I like to try a lot of different steakhouses and this one is one of the best I had the dry aged prime ribeye and it was very tasty and they cooked it correctly. My wife had the Sea Bass and she loved it. This place beats the capitale grill hands down. Our server Ronnie did a great job and was attentive. my son had a dry aged steak from the childrens menu and my daughter had mac and cheese

So, I’m in Chicago a lot...and Chicago has its share of top drawer steakhouses, but Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is right there with the best of them! We dined there last night and while waiting for the others in our party to arrive, we enjoyed looking at the different “cuts” of beef, veal chops, lamb chops, etc in their glass display case. The manager on duty stepped up and offered a tutorial on the types, cuts as well as explained all the nuances of “wet” aging vs “dry” aging. Very interesting! When we were seated we were very pleased with our server who was also very knowledgeable about the food offerings. Everyone loved their appetizers, salads, steaks and chops as well as sides. Btw, the sides are VERY large...plan on sharing. Unfortunately, I have nothing to say about the desserts because we were just too full to sample any sweets. I’d like to add, they do have a nice wine selection and their cocktails are very good! Great experience...recommend highly!

Business trip to Houston meant a dinner out and that meant it had to be a seriously good steak! The porterhouse and tomohawk steaks are massive. Seriously. One of each was easily enough for a table of 4. The onion rings are just HUGE. All in all, a really good steak house.

Lived up to its expectation in the quality of food and service. Kathy the server was helpful, polite and courteous. At the prices that were charged I would expect a little quieter atmosphere, it was crowded and very noisy.

We loved the steaks, salad and asparagus was so tasty. My only complaint was that our server wasn’t friendly, and she tried to hurry us through dinner. Asked us many times if she could remove our plate, when it was obvious that I was still eating, and leisurely trying to enjoy my meal. I finally just asked her to box it up.

If you can only have 1 meal while you're in town, this is the place to go. Pappas Bros is firing on all cylinders. I loved everything about this place... the atmosphere, the food, the wines, the service. All restaurateurs should be required to dine here... and aim to capture some of the brilliance that is on display. Many types of seating options... sit in the bar, in the dining room, at the food bar in front of the kitchen... there's also a private room off the main room. The atmosphere is great... polished, high end but comfortable. The wine list is one of the best in town... very impressive... full of gems, especially if you have money to burn. There are some affordable choices as well. The sommelier, Brandon Kerne, is awesome... he will guide you appropriately. Excellent wines by the glass. I started with crab cakes... amazing... served piping hot, full of solid chunks of lump crab meat. My Prime NY Strip... a thing of beauty, perfectly cooked and amazing quality. Excellent mashed potatoes... sides are humongous. I saw an order of onion rings go by... giant things piled high... I was tempted to grab one. Desserts are insanely great. They bring a cart by the table to tempt you. I can't think how anyone could refuse some of these treats... they all look unbelievable. As a cheesecake fan, i had to try theirs. Wow! It's about 6 inches high, amazing graham cracker crust... flanked with pieces of vanilla chocolate... with a vanilla sauce. Enough for 4 people, esp. after a big meal. After a satisfying amount, the rest went back with me to the hotel room fridge... it was my lunch the next day. The menu is a bit pricey... but worth it. I was guided through this tour de force by my waitress, Patricia, who provided amazing service... friendly, knowledgeable, and professional... all about pleasing the guest. Management is very present, insuring that all is going smoothly. The GM, Alan, is a seasoned pro. He stops by every table to check in with guests and insure all is well. An amazing dining experience!

Wanted to visit and wife's birthday gave good opportunity. Tip : if you like the piano get a booth close by next to the bar. Too noisy elsewhere. Great starter crab macaroni . Then filet mignon with asparagus and au gratin potatoes. Huge portions so no room for desert. $160 excl tip. A nice experience .

We had a wonderful meal with our siblings. The steaks were superb and the sides delicious. We also loved the ambience. We felt that it was a warmer, more family friendly vibe than the steak houses we frequent in NYC.

Husband and I split the wagyu filet. We elected this instead of the regular filet and it was worth all of the money. We had it prepared black and blue. It was perfection. Great seer and flavoring with a cool center. We also split a wedge salad which was awesome and HUGE. They had brussel sprouts that night so we had and order of these are their skillet potatoes. Everything was awesome and hands down the best. We just got back from Chicago, husband says Pappas steak blows that one out of the water. Hands down the best. Server was Keith and he was impeccable! We also liked the downtown location over the Westheimer. Not as crowded. But we still made reservations.

I visited the downtown location earlier this week on business and was quite please with the experience. I started with two very tasty Manhattans at the bar and then we had some appetizers. Both the Spanish octopus and the lobster & brioche we’re very tasty, I would recommend either of them. The real reason I was there was for the steak and it was top notice! The waiter recommended the Waygu beef which was sold by the ounce and I am pleased to tell you that I followed his recommendation. This medium rare steak was presented on a block of Himalayan sea salt and already cut into pieces. It was accompanied by tasty mushroom pieces and a simple side of au jus (which I never dipped my steak into, only the mushrooms). Every experience is different when dining out at a top-notch steakhouse and it’s hard to rate each steak but I can’t say that I could rate one higher than this one, it was out of this world in terms of flavor and texture. It was my first experience with the Japanese beef and it won’t be my last, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. We also had cold king crab legs for the table which were thick and tasty but I prefer them served warm. We had a few sides as well but I didn’t indulge. Check this restaurant out, it’s a nice place to have a meal in downtown Houston.

My husband and I have been to the Westheimer location several times. This was a first time to the downtown location. It still has the 'old school' feel but everything is shinier! The steaks are still out of this world- my favorite! The wine options were great- we had a delicious chianti. The service was wonderful as well. Our waiter made sure we were taken care of without hovering too much. After dinner, we decided to have another drink in the bar. The bar is so nice that I would consider coming here for a drink even if I was not having dinner. If you are looking for a special place to have a delicious steak, look no further, this is your place! The best in the city.

On our last night in Houston and we asked the Hilton staff where they would recommend to eat and they said Pappas Bros. And by golly, they were spot on as Pappas Bros. was one of the best restaurants I have been to in quite a while. We did not have reservations and we are simply thankful that it was a Wednesday night or I am sure we would have been SOL. Fortunately, for us we got a table and had a delightful meal. Our waiter, Travis, was perfection and looking like he could have been kin to Mark Wahlberg. The service was impeccable from the moment we sat down until we settled and walked out. Awesome!! Thank you! The wine list is distinguished and exemplary. We had a bottle of Cabernet (Bridesmaid) and it was very nice with our steaks. We would definitely order this wine again. The Sommelier was wonderful in assisting with the choice and we were grateful for his knowledge and recommendation. Thank you! We started off with the Lobster Deviled Eggs and a couple had salads as well. I can vouch for the Caesar salad as it was outstanding!! And the Lobster Deviled Eggs left me speechless. I have never had anything that tasted quite like them and they were phenomenal. And if I ever go back I am definitely partaking again! Simply tasty and awakened the taste buds. The Lobster Deviled Eggs are served with the boiled egg whites filled with perfect Lobster and a small jar filled with the devilish filling with bacon that simply overwhelms the taste buds; again a wonder taste like no other. The entrees were filet mignons and the salmon. The salmon while very good does not hold a candle to their wonderful steaks. One of my friends got the ribeye and was in heaven. While, I got the filet along with another gentleman and they simply melted in your mouth. The steaks were perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful! Outstanding! We split two sides for the four of us since they were family style and the mac and cheese along with the creamy spinach were very good and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. We finished it off by splitting three desserts. They were the Chocolate Mousse and Marshmallow, the Turtle Pie (Staffs choice), and the Creme Brûlée. The Mousse and Turtle Pie were by far the best choices and everyone at the table agreed they were phenomenal and that they would all eat them again. The creme brûlée was good but not extraordinary like the other two dishes. So, my advice by far would be to tell you to stay away from the creme brûlée and the cheesecake and try one of the other home made desserts to your liking and you cannot go wrong. All in all, it was a perfect night with friends in an exceptional restaurant and I would highly recommend such a dining experience. An exceptional experience and I hope you too with Enjoy Pappas Bros. Steakhouse!!

If you're looking for a steakhouse, I'd highly recommend this place! Not cheap for a perfect steak and service to match! Quality and quantity were wonderful ... next time, I'll have to be sure to leave room for dessert!

I was here for dinner. The bread to start was warm and very tasty. I had a starter salad that was very good. My steak was prepared perfectly, and it was a very nice portion. The dessert menu looked good, but we were all too full from dinner. Overall, a great (and pricey) place to go for business or special occasions.

Simple review: went here on business and had what turned out to be one of the best steaks I have ever had. Went with the boneless ribeye and I am still thinking about it!

Shrimp cocktail was awesome. Salads were good. Tomahawk ribeye was huge and great. Porterhouse the best. Every dessert was perfect. This is a first class restaurant. All the positive reviews are well deserved.

This branch of this great restaurant group has been open for three years, but it gives the appearance that it has been there forever! From the moment that you walk in, you are treated with a magnificent display of the steaks on offer. Your taste buds start working immediately. Judging by the size of the steaks on display, we decided not to order a starter and were we pleased with that decision! We ordered a 16oz and a 18oz dry aged rib-eye steak, respectively. The steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare, more rare than medium. For our sides, we ordered roasted mushrooms and creamed spinach. For our wine, we chose a gentle 2014 Volnay Premier Cru Champans Marquis D'Angerville, which was simply superb. Our waiter, Kathryn, then proceeded to tempt us with one of the magnificent desserts on display. We chose a crème brûlée, which was so smooth and came with biscuits and berries. A wonderful meal and we will come again for sure!
Best Steak Restaurant
We were recommende and to eat here by friends. Fantastic. Bar staff were easy to chat with. Tried local beers. The steaks are huge and cooked to perfection. Would suggest sharing meals. Great atmosphere. Will return one day
