What a wonderful burger restaurant in American diner style. We really enjoyed it! Good food and lovely people. If you are in town, visit Papas Burgers, you won’t regret it!

We love Pappas management for their Gluten Free procedures! Most wait staff are well educated, and a manger or head cook will discuss your order with you and explain cooking procedures. The cook line will clean the grill surface and change gloves before preparing your gluten free burger. It's well worth the extra wait for my family to safely eat a DELICIOUS gf burger with gf bun and side Greek salad (unfortunately, the fries are fried in a shared fryer and not safe for severe allergies). [This review applies to both the Westheimer and Hobby Airport terminal locations as both have followed the same procedures and exceeded our expectations! Duplicated and crossposted.]

While in Houston we decided to try out the burgers at Pappas and the quality of the burgers was complemented by the quantitiy of burger. The basic burger and french fries order is all that one needs to order. Tasty Angus beef makes a big difference

AMAZING!! WE LOVE THIS PLACE!! Great burgers, fries and shakes. The staff takes the best care of you. So Nice!!! My burger was too rare for me (around New York City they don't want to serve meat rare). They were so nice about it! I felt so stupid, I ordered expecting New York Style medium. They fixed my order, brought another huge burger. The manager, the waitress were incredibly friendly and made our visit so great! Totally family atmosphere. Very relaxing, delicious and fun dinner!! Try the Oreo Shake!!!! Burgers the size of your head! Bring your appetite!!!

First time back here in 7 months ... service was horrible. Prices are OUTRAGEOUS .... grilled chicken Caesar salad with children's chicken tenders were $23 ... they should be ashamed of themselves charging these kind of prices .. I mean romaine lettuce with chicken should not be $14.90. There are other restaurants around that have better service and better food.

Went there to get a quick bite based on Tripadvisors recommendations. Quite good and friendly service..Cheap, no.. Not particular, but not excessive. So go there and grab a bite. Soft drinks are fountain based, so not to my liking…

Very flavor and juicy burger. Huge portion. Nice fresh hand cut fries. Fresh soft bun. Attentive friendly service. A bit pricy but worth it.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The burgers were excellent, and very large! I would not be surprised if they were actually larger than the ten ounces they are advertised as being. The buns were also great, as were the fresh-cut fries. And the shake we ordered was also very large, and quite smooth. Although we are only in town for a few days, we are actually planning on going back. It's that good!

Simply amazing burger to enjoy . Tried the Lucy juicy burger and I can say it satisfied my food expertise taste big time . Their buffalo wings are delicious and their milkshakes ready to fill any corner could have missed some calories :) The staff is a big like as well for their friendliness and great service ...

If you want to elevate your going out for a burger experience, I highly recommend Pappas Burger. The service is attentive and pleasant and burger seems to be a spin off of the steakhouse next door. I know its just a burger, but the quality is as good as it gets with a generous portion of the French fries I ordered as well. My wife and I enjoyed it very much.

Burgers taste great but prices range from $15.95-$18.95. The price is the reason I went with four stars because if I am going to spend about $20 on beef, I’d rather go out for steak. However, if you love burgers then it’s worth the price because they are large and delicious. The fries are great too. We also ordered a chocolate/banana malt and could not taste the banana nor the malt mix. It tasted like a chocolate shake, which was good, but not what we wanted. For the price, I would go to a different burger joint, but the food is good at this one. Atmosphere is good, and service was friendly.

Order directly when you come in and enjoy the 1950s atmosphere. Tasty food and nice service! Lovely!

Most airport food is overpriced, but most is also not very good. Burgers at Pappas in the Houston airport were absolutely WONDERFUL, but plan to spend $17 for a burger PLUS the cost of a drink. They are very large, and the fries are hot, crispy, and plentiful so 2 could split one cheeseburger easily, making the price more reasonable. If you are hungry, or want to share, this is really the place to eat.

On our way home and had a long layover to kill some time. We were think airport food... uggg, so we wandered around and finally decided on a burger. Man what a great find. We figured airport food is going to pricey anyway and these were but man this sandwiches were as big as my head! Definitely worth every penny. We opted to split 2 sandwiches tonight and it was way too much food! I got the Pappa's cheeseburger medium and my partner got the chicken Cobb sandwich. Both came with a heaping pile of shoestring fries! Again plenty of food to share. All were delicious! Hats off to our server Christian G! Fantastic service, polite, friendly and very personably! The Lucy Juicy is the best. They're always busy but this never affects the quality of service or food. The portions are ridiculous and worth what you pay. The strawberry sundae is a must and the chicken fried steak is big enough to share.

While looking for someplace different for lunch, we selected Pappas Burger since we were in the area. The wall menu gives you a variety of burgers to choose - so many different kind. I thought a bit pricey until we were served. Huge burgers! One of my favorites is Frito pie, so I got the Frito Pie burger with fries - a giant heaping pile of thin sliced fries. I had to cut the burger in half - delicious, flavorful and crunching with the Fritos. My daughter had the Peppercorn Ranch Burger with a side salad - both equally tasty. Once we placed our order we chose a table. Our waitperson came by to verify our order (great idea) and then served promptly. Friendly staff, Manager stopped by the table to check on us as well. The noise level was very high due to the noon day crowd and that fact school was officially out - lots of kids with grandparents. There was a lull in the noise once it emptied out until the next wave of lunch goers. If you don't like noise - go early or after the lunch rush - good burgers for your money - We need to go back to try some of the other dishes - at least 9 more types of burgers - plus hotdogs too - my other favorite!

Visited as every stake house in a 2 block area was crowded with a minimum one hour wait. So cut our losses. Not sure what to expect but were surprisingly impressed by the dinner style burger joint. Taking the order prior to sitting down is unique but the food came quite quickly as a result. We had some ribs, wings and a chicken salad. It was good. Staff were polite and efficient. The strawberry milkshake was good as well and worth a recommendation. Not too pricy do very happy. Would pay a return visit if in the area.

First of all, this is not an attack on Pappas and let me start off by establishing two important points: 1. I have traveled the world and eaten just about any food or animal you can imagine and my constitution is strong. I have eaten street food from India to Malaysia and enjoyed it for the most part. 2. I WILL be going back to this restaurant because the Pappas name is NOT associated with bad food. Now to my story...a group of us headed out to grab some food and decided to try Pappas Burger on Westheimer (my first time). They have a decent selection of beers and a full bar. The waiter was one of the best I have come across (with the exception of his burger recommendation) and the group thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I ordered the Frito Pie Burger which later that night decided to commit full treason and declared war on my esophagus. I don't know if the storage temperature was too low or if it was slightly old (sitting around the heat table planning its take over of the world) but I experienced the worst case of heartburn I have ever been subjected to in my life. Understand first, I have never had severe heartburn before so naturally, I assumed a heart attack and started getting my affairs in order. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals and my buddy got a hot dog (really, at a hamburger place?) which looked quite amazing (picture attached and yes, there is a hot dog somewhere on that plate). So in conclusion, please keep the chili around 145 degrees or make smaller batches and toss out the leftover. We will be seeing you guys at Pappas again and this time I will be ordering the Chicken Cobb Sandwich.

Was in Houston for two days and ate here each day - great menu, good service, fun surroundings, great prices. What more do you want? I loved the salmon burger - real salmon - not a patty. Spicy cole slaw. The best. Great beer selection. Excellent football games on TV. Amber was a great server. Just an awesome concept.

I thought the burger prices were high....until one showed up at my table. 10 ounce burger that comes wit' fries or rings, next time I will split one with my lovely wife so we don't become supersized. Amazing taste, I copied my daughter-in-law and got the juicy lucy. I tried eating it by hand and gave up and disassembled it using a knife and a fork.....otherwise ole' pigpen would have needed a drop cloth. The onion rings were definitely my kind and I would have eaten more of them but there was no mo' room at the belly inn. If it's your first visit you get a free dessert, a full sized one, I went wit' the elvis shake....peanut butter and banana.....wow!

I literally plan my Houston trips around stopping here. Burgers are flavorful, malts are always at least one and a half servings. Service is fast.

We stopped in for lunch and both had bacon cheeseburgers and we both were very happy with our dishes. We asked for our meat to be cooked medium and they were perfect. We had the fries and onion rings and enjoyed both. You might think there is no way to screw up a burger, but yet so many places do! My only gripe about the place was when we asked for a refill of our tea our waiter acted like we were putting him out to refill. I guess that is not part of his job description. Service in that department could use a little help, but other than that it was perfect.

Delicious juicy burger cooked to order. One of the few places you can actually get a medium burger. Lots of meat so no room for desert. Sweet potato fries or hand cut fresh regular potatoes. Table service for follow up makes it nice. Price on the high side but high quality is delivered.

This casual place is great for a quick and fairly inexpensive meal. Salads are excellent. It's usually pretty busy, but the waitstaff still manages to be on the ball.

We returned last night after a few years .. so delicious ... ordered the kids chicken tenders with the best french fries as well as a kids burger that came with french fries too. So delicious and fresh. Very fresh food - highly recommend!

The burgers are delicious and probably are at least 1/2 lb. They have a variety of speciality burgers, not just the typical burger. The price of their burger however is overpriced in that they cost $16.95. Other items on the menu include seafood (cat fish and shrimp), chicken fried steak, chicken sandwiches, etc. Also they have desserts.

This was my first time to this style of restaurant, and the service was exceptional. The waitress (Riz), who attended to me was extremely friendly, and made sure my dining experience was great. It is a diner style atmosphere, with lots of screens showing sporting events. I had the Hickory Cheddar Burger, and it perfectly done and delicious.

What a great find for a burger beyond good- Everyone once in while you need something beyond the fast food burger. This place has burgers to your liking and great buffalo chicken wings. Leave room for the milkshakes!

Everyone now and then you just need a burger fix. This is just about as good as you can get. Stand in line to order, have a seat and a waiter will take over from there. Plenty of TVs if there is a sporting event on then. Burgers are very good, fries are very god, service is very good - all is good.

Loved the fries and burger---OMG!!! Food was hot, fast and delicious. Staff was lovely and on point. Even when we came in right before closing.

Described as part diner part sports bar, it is said that this place is one of the best burger restaurants in Houston. Certainly, many of the reviews here tend to support that view. But how good can a burger be? After all, it is essentially a meat patty in a bun, so there isn't a great deal to get wrong. The ordering system is a little strange - I've never been able to figure out what the advantage is of ordering at the counter then taking your seat. It can be a bit of a free-for-all finding a table, especially at peak times, but then your food is served to you anyway, with table service for additional drinks, etc. The drawback to ordering at the counter is that you don't get to peruse the menu in comfort, and you pretty much have to know what you want before you approach. For a first-time visitor like me, with such an extensive menu, that can be a bit daunting. Happily, there is an enormous menu on the wall to help you out. It was good to see that there were speciality burgers, hot dogs and even fried chicken and seafood on the menu. What I do like is the availability of gluten free options - unfortunately not as common as it should be these days. There is also a dedicated kids menu, so it is refreshing to find a venue that is very popular with children and families. Now to the food itself. The standard burger is good. Turkey and mushroom is an interesting option too. I had the Philly cheeseburger, (melted mozzarella, sautéed peppers, mushrooms, and onions) served with fries and onion rings. This was actually pretty good, and I would agree it is probably one of the best burgers I've had. Service is quite prompt, even at busy times, and I liked that we were offered more drinks. However, it did feel a bit rushed - not by the servers but by the bustle and noise and the constant movement around us - it's a busy place, with a pretty brisk takeout service. Tables are also a little too close together, so can feel a bit constrained. But overall, it's a lively, vibrant atmosphere with a good mix of clientele including couples, teens and families. With the bill coming to $76 with drinks for three of us, it is not overly expensive. Worth checking out.

Excellent burgers, cooked to your order. I love burgers and these are soon good. As a Texan, I like all the usual stuff on one, but none of the bacon and unnecessary stuff. You want to taste this excellent beef.

Was recommended this spot as I was craving burger. This place did not disappoint. Service was quick and kind. The Hickory cheddar burger with house BBQ sauce was best I ever had in Houston. Also this restaurant had very good shakes, buffalo wings, and mozzarella balls.

When we travel to Houston, we always ask to come to Pappas Burger. Usually, we just try one of their many burger selections but I ventured out and tried a chicken gyro. Outstanding. Great staff too. Thank you very much!

We ordered off the "children's" menu .. portions are HUGE.... Ordered chicken tenders and burger .... both excellent. Both came with fries, that are yummy!! Also ordered the chocolate cake ... one of the best we have ever had. Excellent service. Highly recommend this restaurant.

These burgers are very well done. They are thick and juicy and they have a wide variety so you will certainly find one you like.

We have lived in Houston for five years now. This was our first experience at Pappas Burger. My husband and I have visited all of the other Pappas chain restaurants but this one alluded us until today. My question to myself is this. - What in the world took me so long!? My husband and I enjoyed our burgers. They were cooked and seasoned well and were not dry but absolutely delicious. We started our meal with the steak fingers (comes with fries, texas toast, and gravy). The steak fingers were tender and tasty. My husband and I enjoyed them. The appetizer could easily be a meal itself. I didn't have any of the fries that came with it but my husband said they were great. We didn't have dessert today but saw and heard from those around us that they were delicious. Next time for sure! No pictures today as we jumped in and ate. But, do yourself a favor and go eat at Pappas Burger soon!

Went to this place for burgers came back two days later for the seafood combo. Can’t make a wrong choice the burgers the wings onion rings shrimp catfish. Anything you get here is good but be prepared you get lots and lots of food for the price.

Extensive burger menu with tempting starters and desserts. Very popular so be ready to wait at peak times. Try the BBQ chicken wings to start. For smaller eaters you can ask for a burger to be split over two plates. The mushroom Swiss burger with fries, split with my wife was more than enough. A wide selection of bottled beers is available. This could be a 5 if only they reduced the size of their portions from ridiculously large to just large!

There are so many different types of burgers to choose from! You order and then go sit down, sometimes it is hard to find a seat and you have to wait a bit. You will then get a server once you sit down. Malts are awesome and they give you a giant straw so you can actually drink them since they are so think, Great spot! Always crowded. Good fried pickles

You can order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table. Or if you are like me you can be seated and waited on in the normal manner. The food is awesome and the wait staff friendly, attentive and eager to please. It is usually crowded during prime lunch and dinner times. However getting a table is no problem. There is ample parking but you may have to cruise for a spot. Believe me it is worth it. My extended family meets there for Sunday lunch every month or two. There is an open area off to the side that can seat large groups and it is usually quieter than the main dining room. If it is football season and the TEXANS are playing a Sunday game in town, the Saturday night before the game sometimes has a couple of the TEXAN Cheerleaders and the team mascot TORO to entertain. TORO is great with the kids. Have fun and enjoy yourselves.

My uncle and I had a burger here. It was large juicy and very good. Lots of fries too. They are a bit pricey but worth it.

t's been several years since my last visit here and I remembered a very good hamburger meal but on the expensive side. Located on Westheimer there is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. Walking in you are greeted by two identical large menu walls and then place your order at the counter. I ordered the Pappas Burger (which is their standard no cheese, no frills lowest priced burger) that comes with fries for $14.35 and added an ice tea for $2.75 to drink. I then took my order slip, filled my tea glass and went to find a table. My waiter then arrived and took my order slip, reviewed the order with me and then left to have my order filled. My food arrived in about 5 minutes (see pics). The burger patty was slightly over 1/2 lb. and dressed on a large bun. It was very good and filling. I enjoyed it as it was a quality burger. The homemade fries had skin on them and were hot and fresh. This meal was one that I believe most people would thoroughly enjoy. So why do I only give 3 stars? Honestly, I should give less. With tax and tip, my total cost was $22. For a burger, fries and an ice tea. Remember, I ordered their cheapest burger. Some of the more fancier specialty burgers (that most people would order) were about $2 more. If you want a milkshake add about another $2 on top of that if you don't also get a soft drink/tea. If you do, add another $5. And then don't forget to tip your waiter for picking up your order slip from where you ordered at the counter, bring you your food, refill your drink glass after you initially filled it and ask you during the meal if you are enjoying your food... On my last visit several years ago, I remembered this same meal eating up a $20 bill. Today it takes about 10% more than that. Yes the food is very good but I know many places in town where I can get an equally good burger meal for less than half the cost. I guess it will be several years again before I return or maybe I have finally learned my lesson.

This is our go to place for burgers. The portions are huge however they will allow adults to order kiddie size burgers in almost all of their burger creations. Our grandkids think they have the BEST milkshakes. Wait staff is always friendly and upbeat.

This place, like all Pappas-owned restaurants, runs like a well-oiled machine. The service is always efficient and excellent. The burgers are good, and the fries are good, too. Portions are huge.

Simply the best burgers in town. As part of the Pappas restaurants, this place does not fall short in quality food.

First, this place is by far much better than 5-guys. I've had few things on their menu and it hasn't disappointed. I cant believe a turkey burger can taste this good. Ive had their regular burgers as well. I recommend their onion rings, frozen margaritas, and nachos as well. I sound like a fatty but this is my cheat place for quality burger/fries. The margaritas are so good. I sometimes have one while I wait for my burger to go. They just added salmon and vege burgers as well. I will be trying this next month.

Pappas has perfect burgers. Top shelf meat with a great bun. Also good wings and nachos. Happy hour great value.

Walked here from the JW Marriott (about 10 - 15 minutes). The burger selection is excellent, as are the sides and salads. We went w burgers (why wouldn’t you at a burger joint?), fries and shakes. Everything was on point. The food arrived hot and the milkshakes were delivered as we were on the latter half of our meals. Service is friendly and efficient. A definite stop when in Houston.

The food at Pappas Burgers was amazing. The burgers are huge and they give you options to customize it to your liking. (added onions, bacon, cheddar cheese, and pickles) The fries are also really good and remind me of the WingStop fries honestly, probably better. I would say the restaurant is a bit overpriced as a burger is about $16-20 but hey, the quality is superb. I would definitely visit again on future trips to Houston.

Visited Houston after being overseas for more than four years and the first place we wanted to eat was Pappas Burger. When we lived in Houston would eat there at least twice a month once we discovered the place. Never been let down and the service is good.

Pappas Burger continues to serve the best burgers in Houston. Hand-cut fries to die for as well. Pappas is always careful with food allergies which is much appreciated.

This place has a large selection of hamburgers and malts you can also build your own take your ticket to the table and wait on the wait staff to deliver your food the average wait time for lunch and dinner to get your food is about 30 minutes it was a good concept when it open but there's something missing with the flavor of the food I've had about five or six different type of burgers but besides the mustard and ketchup excetera they pretty much all taste the same there is no defining flavor in each one of the burgers

Been to Pappas Burgers several times and never get tired of this place. Only problem is I always eat way to much when I visit. The burgers are made to order fresh with fluffy butter buns for added flavor. Milkshakes are so think you have to eat with a spoon for a bit. This place is small and gets very busy so be patient as its worth the wait. Many options to choose from. Service is always efficient even when they are busy.

Very Popular Restaurant it’s one of Pappas Chain Specialised In Burgers..as we visit this place for the First Time we ordered few Appetisers like Onion Rings,Guacamole .. Pappa’s Cheese Burger,Pappa’s Burger Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich & California Chicken Sandwich ..I can say everyone was satisfied with his Food also Sevice was Good our Sever Daniel was excellent..

Possibly one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon... it comes with a good portion of potatoes, which were also very delicious. The meat of the burger is quality, made to the point, it is juicy and comes with everything. The touch of the bacon, fundamental. Good atmosphere and good service.

My friends and I hang out on a regular basis. The burgers are amazing but our personal favorites are the wings and greek salad. On weekdays, you can have the wings for a very low happy hour price. You can't beat this deal. We also love the amazing steak fingers and the gravy is finger licking good.

Like all the other Pappa's restaurants, I enjoy Pappas Burgers a lot! The inside atmosphere is neat and there waitstaff is usually friendly and extremely helpful! Their hamburgers are large and their fries although different and very skinny are surprisingly delicious! Their ice cream shakes are super delicious and they provide plenty of it! I really love getting an oreo & butterfinger mix shake!

I went to meet a large group of friends and thats where the fun started. We were told by the manager that we couldnt sit together because the waiters had assigned areas and bla bla bla. We had to sit in 2 seperate tables with 2 seperate waiters. To make a long story short the manager pretty much had a nervous breakdown at our table and acted unacceptably. I would never go back in a million years

Visited with family with young children for dinner in Dec ‘22. The place has ample seating and nice decor. The staff was super friendly and the bathroom has a changing table. We order the mozzarella balls for an appetizer, kids had the macaroni and cheese, another had the tenders, and the adults had the Peppercorn Ranch burger cooked medium. The mozzarella balls were good but a little too cold for my taste. I like them really hot. The kids max and cheese was underwhelming to be honest, looks and tastes like the Kraft box max n cheese you get from the grocery store. It tasted good but not great. Something as little as a good garnish just to make them look different or using different kind of pasta shells. The tenders were as you expect, solid. They were cooked a little too dry otherwise they would be great. The burger was slightly overlooked for medium temperature but that’s okay. The biggest problem with the Bridget is that it lacked flavor. Otherwise the bun was good and the burger overall tasted good but not great. I would visit again if I was in the mood for a descent burger but I would not boast about this place. The entire meal came out to $61 with out tip.

The location of this place makes it a great pop in for dinner when in the Galleria area. The burgers are consistently good. Tasty buns, great variety of toppings, decent service and a clean casual setting. All in all a good option. Nothing to rave about but certainly worth a visit every now and then.

On leaving Houston to return home (Austin), we decided to try to grab a burger & shake somewhere. All 59 Diners are closed, so we checked ratings and saw Pappas Burger (we're aware of all their other food chains, including the steakhouses, Pappadeaux's, etc). I got the Lucy Juicy Burger, my wife got the Bleu Burger - chocolate shake for me, vanilla shake for her. Oh my gosh....after getting into a few bites...I was thinking - this is unbelievable...I've had a lot of burgers in my life - this was a "no doubter". My wife was thinking the same thing when I stated aloud: "This is the BEST burger I have EVER had." Shakes were also great, the old fashion way with giving you the metal cup with more! Fries were good too. We will change our plans anytime in Houston to ensure we take in this burger place....wow...I'm ready to go now.

We love to go to Pappas with family and friends. The Lucy Juicy is the best burger ever made. This is a family friendly environment, everything I have tried on the menu was great. Mitch was a great server. Super impressed.

If you like a greasy burger this is the place for you. We got fruit instead of fries and they serve the burger with three extra napkins so they know the burger is a hot mess. Service was great.

This is one of the best burgers around. From the outside it looks like an old Denny’s and not where you would think you would find an amazing Burger!! It was our first time ever trying this place and we will definitely be back on another of our trips to Houston.

The hamburger is delicious. The service great. Something happened that I will NEVER forget. I payed the tip in cash and wanted to leave a 20 dollar bill and a 10 Dollar bill. Instead, by mistake, I gave a 20 and a 100. The waiter, followed me to the parking lot and gave me back my 100 bill. Honesty is the best policy.

Whenever in the Galleria area, is an option for lunch/dinner. You design your burger and the trimmings, and will get a big one!!! I do not order fries anymore, since I always ended up leaving them..... Service is fast and corteous, and also you can watch there all type of sports. They have a room for large groups, with screens for the sports.

Took our daughter here for her Birthday this past Saturday and we loved it! This place has the best hamburgers and hot wings in town. Their drinks are Good as well. My wife had two margaritas and she fell in love with them. It's a must try if your ever in Houston!

This location is in the Main concourse of Hobby Airport near many Southwest gates. The staff are very attentive to your flight schedule and note that on your ticket as you are seated. We had 40 minutes to squeeze in a wick dinner. And we made it in the nick of time. As the name implies — burgers are the main event. And they are humongous — try stuffing one of these monsters down in a hurry! They have a full service bar but also serve old fashioned milk shakes.

The burgers at this place are excellent as are the fries. Large portions of quality meats with plenty of fixins.

Not sure what all the hype is about. I'm sure the meat is of good quality but after everything is slathered on you can't taste the meat! The bill came out to be very expensive. I don't think a burger should cost $15 but what do I know.

I tried to go here late night but they closed at 10:00, so I just missed a late dinner. I went back the next day at 2:00pm. The place was quiet. I ordered at the counter and my burger was out in less than 5 minutes. It was juicy and super tasty. The fires were hot, salty and on point. I ordered a strawberry shake and it was delicious, served in a metal can which actually held enough for 2 shakes. The manager came over to ask about the food and comped the milkshake after learning it was my first visit. Overall excellent. Some may complain about the $17 cost for a burger and fries, but it was worth it to me as the overall experience was tremendous!!

This is the best burger I have every had Big and juicy seasoned very good! Sweet potato fries are the best! Service is very good!!

The restaurant has a casual diner feel. You enter the restaurant and you place your order with the cashier. After that, it's a full service joint. You pick your table and a waiter comes by to verify your order and get you anything else you may need. The food is fabulous and the service is great. We had the bleu cheese burger, veggie burger and the oriental salad. Since we were first time visitors we got free shakes on the house. The shakes were wonderful! The portions are huge, so bring your appetite! Will go back again!

Very quick service, even able to get us a table for a pretty large group upon arrival. Waitress friendly and quick. Very enjoyable burger & fries and everyone at table enjoyed their meals.

We are regulars here and consider it one of the best burgers in town! Finish it off with a collies and cream milk shake and it’s a perfect date!

We got here a lot after church on Sundays. But it's great for any day of the week. Delicious burgers, and I love the turkey burger as well. There's always something you can find that will be delicious, and I think they have cold beer as well? Not sure, but I think so!

There is a Poppas BBQ located down the street from my job. My friends and I visit at least once a week. The BBQ is wonderful. I tend to get the double meat hamburger with cheese. It's the largest burger I have ever eaten. They have the best bake beans I have every eaten as well. The coleslaw is not to saggy very crisp and tasty. Being in Texas the theme atmosphere is Texan and that's o.k. with me.

The burgers are great! Cooked just right. If you go for lunch, go early around 11:00 or 11:15 because they get VERY busy!

Our initial impression was shocked at the prices on the menu. I don’t know why we were shocked it is a Pappas restaurant after all. But once our food was delivered we understood it was worth every penny! The burgers were flavorful, juicy and cooked perfectly! My husband usually orders 2 orders of fries but didn’t this time and had enough fries left over for another serving. As usual for Pappas, portions are generous, service is on point and food is delicious!

Tried Pappas Burgers for the first time—-bottom bun was extremely soggy, burger meat was dry—fries were somewhere between cold and warm plus very salty—iced tea and service was good; for an expensive burger, we expected a lot more from this eatery.

I visited with the family. It's a nice burger joint. Staff are extra friendly and courteous. Burgers are huge and delicious. And as for the non beef eaters there are salmon and veggie burgers. Very god overall.

We had the guacamole burgers, fries, onion rings, and milkshakes. Everything was top notch, very delicious. My only complaint is the food is overpriced; fortunately, it really is worth it. Just prepare to pay a lot for a burger.

We asked that the burger be medium rare and charbroiled over open flame. It was raw and mushy, unlike the perfect chargrilled ones we have had the last 50 visits. Waiter told us that burgers were ONLY cooked on flat top. I guess they have changed procedures, and the result is unsatisfactory, so there goes our favorite hamburger place.

I never expect much in the area of veggie burger especially in an airport at a restaurant for flesh eaters but...YUM! This possibly was overall the best I have ever eaten. Bravo Pappas! And thank you caring about the leaf eaters as much as you do for everyone else. The combination of flavors was excellent! Can't say enough about the fried sweet potatoes and the milk shakes as well! I only wish there was a Pappas in Pennsylvania! Almost a reason to come back to Texas! Unfortunately the final check came to almost $50. Watch the prices here. As good as everything is, the cost will sneak up on you!

$80 (before tip) for 4 people for below average burgers. The burgers are large but really had no flavor to them. The fries were homemade but were limp and not very good. The set up was weird in that you order at the front and seat yourself then a waiter/waitress comes to your table and confirms your order, then serves you the rest of the meal. It just doesn't make sense for the first step. However the service was good and really was the only positive I can say about this place.

Great lunch spot. I love their chicken fried steak. The staff is exceptional. I would highly recommend.

We were staying nearby and I searched for good burgers in the area and this place kept getting mentioned. I can see why! Lovely place. Looks kind of like a diner but much more modern. There were loaded of staff around and they were all very pleasant and helpful. Very clean restrooms as well. We shared the mozzarella bites to start and they were very nice. We've had mozzarella sticks elsewhere and always enjoyed them but these small balls of deep fried mozzarella were great. The marinara sauce that came with it was very nice although unnecessarily hot (spicy) As the burgers are 10oz we shared a bacon cheeseburger ordered medium. The burger really is quite big but it was very very good. The meat was really soft with a lovely taste especially the outside bits. It was a little under medium but that was perfectly fine with us. Plenty of cheese and bacon and loads of fresh shredded lettuce and all in a really good bun. Very messy to eat but very enjoyable! The fries were also very good. Very thin and perfectly cooked and there was a massive portion of them. (They were however very salty) The food here was a bit more expensive than we're used to, however due to the size of the burger and the amount of fries you get, it was very good value and very good quality. Don't be put off by the price, if you want an amazing quality burger then I'd highly recommend visiting.

Had the mixed grill- it was a huge portion- unable to eat it al. The chicken was unimpressive- the ribs were good- b ut they were beef ribs- not my favorite. You could definitely feed two to three people with just one mixed grill order. We ordered out- they really didn't give enough sauce and I thought the sauce was just so- so. But I have to say the smoked flavor was good. The people who had burgers really liked them so thats what I would probably do next time if we order out there.

Pappas Burger has a variety of menu items but we always have the burgers, which are excellent. We try a different burger each time we go and the "sides" are very good also.

As I think back I don't ever remember writing a review about a place in an airport, that changed yesterday. First of all a shout out to Ross, he was in training, but he did a great job, Thanks Ross!! OK, now to the burger, WOW, had the mushroom and swiss burger and it was the best burger I think I have ever eaten and I am 63 years old and living in beef country you have to go some for that. My wife had the quesadilla and she said it was very good. Plus the hostess that sat us asked for our take off time and noted it can't ask for more than that.

Best burgers in town. Never miss the chance to visit when im in town. Always a good idea to apease hunger.

This is a small place but completely packed.. We were able to secure a table for 5, but it was difficult to move around.. We all ordered a burgers and they were all awesome, very tasty, very juicy, the fries were also great.. I really enjoyed this place and can't wait to go back!!!

We stopped in on a busy Saturday. We were able to place our order right away and get a seat. Service was great as was the food!

FINALLY had a chance to eat here (was just at Papas Steakhouse the night before!). Have now been to ALL Papas restaurants. Burger was HUGE but at $15 it was simply overpriced and frankly the burger itself did not have much flavor....thinking it would have been was better chargrilled. Shake Shack burgers to me taste better and are half the price. Quality though no question and very good fries.

My wife and I are here on July 4th and it was great as always. Food was fantastic with Pappas' typical huge portions. The burgers are phenomenal and very juicy. There are other choices such as shrimp poboys, chicken fried steak., and they are equally good. Service was great and fast, despite being very busy. Manager stopped by the table just to see if everything was ok. We will definitely visit again soon. Do yourself a favor and try a Pappas Burger when you're in the Westheimer area of Houston.

Do you need to know more than that? No! The hamburgers are made from the steak next door and ground for the burgers. How do we know? Great and friendly service from Zach. So many more options besides the burgers. Go and enjoy. Highly recommend!

If this is the son to papas steak house your not going far wrong to experience the best burger in town. I think they use the same beef as dads place only my guess mind you. It's always busy so get used to listening to other people's conversations. Just sit down tuck your napkin into your shirt and gorge yourself on excel lance.

I was very impressed by the customer service. First time customers receive a free shake, yummy too! I had the veggie burger and it was just ok. My husband enjoyed his hickory bacon burger and my sister in law her Oriental salad. I'm not sure I would go back.

There is a separate register for takeout, so thumbs up for the efficiency. Burgers are pricier than McDs obviously, but much better. I personally like Becks Prime the best, but Pappas does a pretty good burger too. Onion rings are pretty darn good too.

My boyfriend was craving a burger so we went to Pappas for my first time. The service was prompt, efficient and our waitress was really friendly. She even comped my milkshake since it was my first visit. The burgers and milkshakes were amazing, but the fries were nothing to write home about. So, if you are near the Galleria and really craving a burger I definitely recommend that you stop in and check this place out.

Wow! Awesome selection of burgers that are well prepared and presented. Sides like baked potato and fries are really good too. Leave room for a shake or malt. They are to die for. Lots of flavors, really thick. If you are full and just want a small one order the kids size. Would definitely go back. Loved it.

The papas cheese burgers are amazing but I think one is good for two people, and don't get me started on the chicken wing... wohoooo

We had dinner here recently and the burger was great. Plenty of French fries as always; but my wife's chicken sandwich was not up to par. Not typical for this place so maybe an off night.

I know it sounds crazy going to a burger restaurant for Shrimp, but let me say this "they have the best". They are fresh and perfect and you get 16, yes 16. I ordered frings and for those that don't know, that is 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings. Then ask for some ranch dressing which is rich and creamy and add some heinz ketchup and dip away. Pappas never let's me down! Happy eating! Until next time...

If you like a good hamburger, this is your place! Their hot dog is just as good as the hamburgers. Good quality food and good service too.

We ate at Pappas Burgers today. Not our 1st time as we are somewhat regulars. My son ordered his burger plain but when he got it, it had mustard on it. The terms he should have used is plain & dry. No problem, they wisked that burger away & less than 5 minutes later he had a plain & dry burger. They apologize profusely, not entirely their fault. We eat here about once a month. Never had problem before but I can't say enough about how polite & professional they were. The food was excellent as usual, otherwise. Highly recommend!

Great spot to get a good meal and watch the game. Fast service. Everything on the menu is good. Don't forget the chocolate cake for dessert!

Two of us stopped in for burgers. They are good, big and juicy. Sweet potato fries or regular fill the platter. Burgers are big and filling. Nicely done. I tried the Frito Pie Burger for the first time. I would get it again. Could not even make it to dessert. Still needs to figure out a bun and the wrap so it does not fall apart.

The burgers are big, juicy and flavorful. I have also had their seafood which was surprisingly great...I mean, it's a burger joint....I prefer to sit and look at a menu instead of ordering at a bar but you do still have table service. I am okay with the bar because the burgers AND the fries are THAT good. Peppercorn Ranch burger, mmmm.

Ok burger. Not the best I've had but not the worst either. I ordered the chili cheese burger and it was very big and juicy, although a little on the salty side for my taste. We had read about Pappas Burger and drove across town to see for ourselves! It really is the best burger EVER!! The burgers were huge, perfectly seasoned, and had fresh toppings...even homemade dill pickles! (You can order a smaller one that's not on the menu.) Fries were fresh, hot, and cooked just right! We also ordered the onion rings as an appetizer. I'm picky about onion rings!! These were FABULOUS! The onions were thinly sliced, perfectly battered, and fresh from the fryer. No frozen onion rings here! Don't miss these! Our server was delighful and, even with many tables, she seemed to show up at our table at perfect intervals. It is a long drive from our house but we'll definately be back soon!!!

This place has something for everyone and no one will complain about what they ordered because everything is delicious! It’s a casual setting, with counter ordering but they have great service after you order. I recommend: Burgers of any kind and if you like veggie burgers theirs is awesome! Fried pickles and jalenpenos are amazing! Their salads are amazing! Suggestion: save room for a kids sized milk shake because I don’t know how anyone can have room for a full sized one but either way the milk shakes are fantastic! Local Houston restaurant where the locals go.

Food is excellent - the chicken tenderloins, salads, and, of course, the burgers. My favorite is the Oriental Chicken Salad. Awesome. Their hamburgers are so big, that you can share one with a friend. Burgers are pricey, but worth it. Place is a little noisy/loud, but that's because their food is so good that everyone flocks to it. Anyhow, I rate this place a "Definitely Must Visit!!"

Pappas Burger gets my vote for the best burger in the Houston area--bleu cheeseburger is my usual choice. The staff members are extremely pleasant, and the atmosphere is cheerful.

A short trip down Westheimer from The Galleria, one of the few downsides is that the popularity means parking can be tricky! A huge menu awaits upon entrance, and the staff taking the order are more than happy to let you make any alterations to your burger (or other dish - there are baskets of chicken fillets, ribs etc., too) before you are helpfully seated at a table. The burgers are not cheap by any means, but they certainly aren't expensive and when you consider the size of them and the small potato farm of fries that also come with them, it's hard to gripe over the price. And the taste is remarkable, by a long way, the best burger I've ever had. The setting is a classic American sports bar but it doesn't feel too far removed from a restaurant, either. Clean and tidy. No room for dessert but they looked equally as delicous (and sized!)...

While the burgers are so yummy, I also highly recommend their salads, especially the Oriental Chicken Salad. It is so good and big enough to split in half! Half for now - half for later OR share with someone in your party - they are HUGE!

We always try the burgers and pizza places when we travel so we tried this one. My 10-year old had the cheese burger and I had the fried shrimp. Wow! The burger was huge and flavorful and the shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked well. The kid had an ole fashioned milkshake as well. Our server Lizabeth was wonderful! A great dinner and experience! We had great leftovers later on that night.

Visited Pappas Burger upon recommendation. The best advice I have received in a good while. One of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten. Anywhere. Cooked just the way I asked and served with onion rings. Hamburger nirvana. And not just delicious, but a BIG burger. Highly recommend it.

“Oh come on – 5 star?”, you ask. The atmosphere is pure hamburger-grill. The service was exceptional and the value made it comfortable. The flavor in the guacamole burger and the chicken strips are worth the gamble when ordering. The crowning glory is having a root beer float.

I got the Oriental Chicken Salad to take on the plane. It was huge and tasty. It was a good choice and not very expensive. The waiting time was fast. I'd like to try the burgers but by the time I would have eaten it, it would be cold. I'll try it next time in the dining area.

I came to order sandwiches to take back to the hotel but was pretty much ignored by the six staff standing less than 2 metres away from me. I am six foot, 250 pounds and was wearing a bright yellow shirt so was difficult to miss. When I eventually asked for service, it seemed the staff didn't know what to do and had a huddle to decide what to do. It was not late, around 21:00. Very strange. The burgers were excellent, large and sloppy, and the fries excellent.

It sits next to it's sister fine dining Pappas steak restaurants. The burger are great. Always crowded but moves fast. TV's everywhere to watch any sport.

We returned last evening .. had been almost 5 months since we last ate there . Ordered a burger to be split between my husband and I and extra, extra crispy french fries with no seasoning. Burger came out great ... fries limp and cold... Finally after getting up and looking for our server, who didn't come around much, that the fries were unsatisfactory. By the time they redid them, we were almost done with our burger. Prefer to eat them "together" / not separately. The tables are entirely too close .. especially during this time of the pandemic ... they definitely had the tables so close that you had trouble moving .. not comfortable chairs either ... Hoping that the customer relations people contact me as I sent him a comment this morning. For the kind of money you spend for a 9 oz. burger and fries, I would expect everything to be "perfect".

Went here for lunch. Pappas steak restaurant is next door, and I’m told that cuts of steak that aren’t sufficient for there become the basis of the burgers served here. Without a doubt, the burger I had was much higher quality than typical burgers. At 10 ounces, my burger was also the biggest I’ve had. I asked for medium rare, and the burger was exactly that. Great spicing, good roll, and fries that accompanied were very good. Though you order upon entering, after that our waiter Tyler was attentive but unobtrusive. If you like a good burger, this is the place to go, but my wife also said her chicken quesadilla was great too.

So either I didn’t see a bunch of stuff before or they added a bunch of stuff to the menu but you can feed everyone here . Great burgers , great chicken sandwich , excellent salads . They even have gyro now and veggie burgers . Milkshakes are top notch . It’s not cheap ( about $50 a couple ) but it’s definitely good!

My friend did not kid around when he said this was the place to go for a "big ol' juicy hamburger' that you won't need to eat two of. He was right, this place isn't in the office district, but give it a try, it's worth the trip if you have a car available at lunch.

Another Burger concept it's been around awhile they have many burgers but if you actually order one I think it's just average do you really want to park here walk inside spend 20 25 bucks on hamburgers I think not

How good can any burger really be? I don't know but this was a very good burger. I had the cheeseburger and was satisfied with the thickness, taste, and cook of the patty. The standard toppings also seemed fresh. It combined to create a delicious hamburger. I had an oreo milkshake that was also delicious. What stood out to me was the service. It was quite busy when I went in and I sat at the 'bar'. There were 5-10 young people running around in charge of the place. Several of them stopped to asked me how I was enjoying my meal. For how busy the place was they didn't seem stressed or annoyed. Every interaction I observed between the workers or with customers seemed positive. It was definitely what stood out to me, and the reason I will go back there again if I have the opportunity.

This is another one of the Pappas family's restaurants so you can't go wrong...a little more expensive but large portions.

The atmosphere is great. Great for families. Burgers are big. I got the fried shrimp with fries and there were at least 15 butterflied shrimp. There are kid options. My 5 year old had a cheese quesadilla. There several TVs to watch sports. Not much handicap parking but we managed.
