Excellent Food in a Fun Atmosphere

By Edward Bell |

Wonderful restaurant in the Hilton Americas-Houston. Had a wonderful meal during the recent NHCPC conference that was held there int he first week of December. The service was outstanding and the food was terrific. Huge servings which made the slightly higher prices worth it. I was full and ended up taking the remainder up to the room and ate it later the next day. Loved the decor and the layout for the floor plan and the staff was gracious and welcoming and I definitely plan on eating there again if I'm ever staying at the Americas again.

Great food and service

By kokaadam |

Our family from Canada wanted to go here(must be good!). We went to the Boot Barn next door and then here for lunch. Its a very cool place, huge and packed. Atmosphere is very festive. The food was solid and a good value, but service was excellent. Very attentive and fast. We had fajitas, quesadillas, quac, everything was good.

Good Food

My family and I went out with a relative who just moved to Houston from California. For a chain, Pappasitos did not disappoint. Good food and better service. Would recommend,

Fabulous Lunch!!

Great food, great drinks, fabulous server and dining on the patio....all a recipe for an amazing outing! Eat here!

Good. But Not Great.

By DaveHRoe |

Had some time before our flight. Wanted to grab something for dinner. Thought we'd finally give this place a try. Ordered the Fajita's "Del Mar" - Good but not great. Service was very friendly and fast.

Solidly Average

By Sara H |

For the life of me, I can't understand the obsession with Pappasito's. I've tried to love it, but it's typical Mexican food at remarkably expensive prices. It's so loud you can't carry a conversation and there are so many tables shoved in the dining room there's no easy way to move around. It will not be my choice to return.

Great Food and Amazing Hospitality

By Jessica B |

My husband and I grabbed a quick late lunch while visiting Houston - our hotel recommended it - and it was great! Wonderful quick and attentive service - our server found out it was our first time in and they sent out an appitizer on the house as a welcome. Delicious food and margaritas. Would absolutely return when in Houston again!

Overpriced Restaurant

By Jose M |

Totally disappointed, bad service, ok food. overpriced or the quality of service and food i got. Not recommended

Fresh mexican food

By Ruthie Davis |

We just love this restaurant. The Mexican food is very good. The food is excellent, and everything we have ordered is fresh. The staff is awesome, and the place is clean.

Very Good Mexican Restaurant

By Chipperhigh2 |

Visited Pappasito's for dinner with two others. The place was crowed, but were seated in a few minutes. The food was great. I had the Enchiladas Combination place. One of the others the Chicken Flauta Med. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent.

Great Food but Overpriced

By mnew4 |

We went on Saturday night and of course, it was super crowded. We all got drinks while waiting. The drinks were good, and after finally getting seated our service was good, food was great, but everything was way overpriced. Salsa was great - had a smoky flavor. Hubby and I split a 2 beef enchilada meal, which was more than enough for us. We even took home left overs.

Quick and easy

By Mario C |

Lunch with colleagues, nothing really special but I liked the fact that soon after we sat down, the waiter brought us nachos & water. The position is really nice. However, we paid for what we got... not expensive.

Sad

By Marilyn G |

The prices are horribly high for Mexican food. The Margaritas were mostly ice. Didn’t have Mexican Martinis. We got the mixed fajitas for 3. The charro beans were tasteless and cold, as was the rice. Chicken was fine, but the beef was really good. The service was slow. Too many good choices to ever come here again for this sad meal

EXCELLENT FOOD!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!

By Texas_Roadrunner_77 |

I have eaten at a Pappasitos in Dallas and we were hungry for Mexican food after spending the previous day and evening at the Houston Rodeo, so we gave it a try on the way out of the area. First off the staff was top notch!!! Second to none!!! Very friendly and attentive, and very engaged when you are placing your order. You can tell they are very well trained and they take pride in their job. The food was very fresh and full of flavor!! Their homemade tortillas are fantastic!!! I had chicken fajitas and shrimp brochette, and hands down it was the BEST chicken fajitas Ive ever had. My wife had cheese enchiladas and she said the same...Perfect!! The restaurant was very clean and I cant say enough how great the servers were!!

Dinner

By Christine King |

Absolutely the most freshest food I’ve ever had! Zephan was the best server! The Trac Latrice Cake Was the BEST!!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Delicious food

By Walter R |

One of the best texmex ever... I would improve the service the bartender lady passed the entired night talking to a customer and left the bar customer unattended. For this only reason I did not rated 5 stairs the food is great prices average.

Very unhappy

By Lata H |

First time take out order. Very disappointing. Fajitas for four to six people cost $90 was barely enough for 3 people. They do not give sour cream or cheese. Meat had no flavor and was too salty. Except meat and onions no other vegetables. Tortilla for fajitas were cold as ice. I have never tasted worse food than fajitas from papasitos. Taco Bell can put papasitos to shame any day. My recommendation is to go eat street tacos somewhere as they taste 100 times better than food from papasitos.👎

Awesome Tex-Mex

By Rusty B |

While in Houston for a photo shoot, I wondered how to find a good Tex-Mex spot in a town filled with great Tex-Mex. Pappasito's was recommended; it didn't disappoint! Great environment; awesome warm chips w/salsa (could have made a meal off that), and great drinks. If you're like me - and don't get to Houston often, do yourself a favor and check out Pappasito's; you'll be glad you did. Awesome service, and the food was incredible! I've now got "a spot" in Houston for great Tex-Mex. Looking forward to returning!

The best Mexican in Houston

By Allan P |

I go to this establishment pretty often. It never disappoints me. For that matter, all the Pappasito's are excellent. I've even had my wife's birthday party here in a private room. That is what makes this particular location so great. Private rooms. And great service.

OMG The Food!

By AlbertaBug1 |

Bring your appetite this Mexican Restaurant does not disappoint! Endless nachos and salsa, table-side guacamole to order and amazing entrees! The staff was great too! Thanks for a great experience!

Good Mexican Food

By George T |

Stopped here with people living in Sugar Land. The food was great and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive.

Fantastic food, excellent service

By gee97 |

A must go if you want great Tex Mex. The service was fantastic! Everyone was pleasant and friendly. Portions are large, fajitas were wonderful.

Stale chips, flat Coke, cold food

By Grumpy granny with an attitude |

The title says it all... This is disappointing, because they have fantastic food. This location doesn't seem to fix the issues. Won't be back to this one.

Very good, but overpriced.

By Johntexas50 |

Always good Mexican food, but the cost/enjoyment is out of skew. It will cost you $30 beef or chicken fajitas. The volume of food is too much, and perhaps a reasonable solution is to split one of the meals. Always good, but I'm amazed at how the cost seems to escalate with every visit.

One word........... AMAZING

By LukeFortescue |

Was in Houston for a company conference with over 26000 other team members, and we were not surprised how busy everywhere was! We came to Pappasito’s and was told an hour and a half wait for a table, so we ch3cked out the to go section, and Justice looked after us, we were told 30 minutes, but we had our food to go in less than 20 minutes, the service was fantastic, and the food was to die for. Everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed our food that we wanted to go back every night while we were in Houston, thank you to ALL the team, you were all amazing!

Great chips!

By 160cherylj |

Not a fan of Tex Mex but was able to find a decent shrimp taco plate and the margarita was good too!

Great Dinner

By CNDTravel |

Suggested by a few locals, went with a group of four for dinner. Started with drinks, with some chips and salsa. Salsa tasted great. The dinner portions were large, tasted great. Great service from the staff. Would return again

Great TexMex food

By Rob M |

While traveling in Houston, we stopped in for dinner. Food was some of the most flavorful tex mex food I have had. Chips and dip were fresh. The El Sambrero was great tasting. Shrimp quesadilla was also very good. All the food was prepared well and full of flavor. Restaurants was really busy with two different shows going on in the area. We did call ahead seating and waited about 10 minutes for our table. Completely our fault but, we were running behind schedule for another engagement and our waiter, Gil, did a good job getting our food and drinks out in a timely fashion keeping us on schedule. Shout out to him. Super nice and friendly. We would go back if we were in Houston again!

LONG Wait...Dishonest Employees....Amazing Food!

By pgoodman0312 |

So...If I was basing this experience solely on the experience from when we were seated until we left it would be 5 stars. In fact, if you can at all, make a reservation before coming here. The women who were hostessing were caught in several bold face lies about how long our experience was going to take. They told us what we wanted to hear, while holding our group for over 2 hours before seating us. We did complain to the manager, who made it right by discounting our food...but overall the wait time, followed by employees who kept telling us that it'd be 10 more minutes for over an hour led to the three stars. Best tamales in Houston though!

Great food!

By kathy1220 |

My husband and I visited Pappasitos last night- we had both been on a restricted diet for about 10 days- I don’t think it’s ever tasted so good! It never fails to deliver on quality and taste. Thankfully, it wasn’t as noisy as it sometimes is. A great dining experience!

Guacamole Heaven

By Melanie S |

The food here was FABUlous!!! We had the "Side Table Guacamole"! Oh - was it delicious. The atmosphere was fun and the service was outstanding. At to your list of got to go places!!

Their beef fajitas are the best in Texas!!!

By Lynn M |

Some friends told us about the Wednesday night special on fajitas, so we put in a to-go order online. We opted for all beef (no chicken) and both flour and corn tortillas, plus two premium margaritas to go, chili con queso and chips. You are supposed to text them when you are there, but both of us forgot to bring our cell phones. So, the hubby went in to pay and told them our location. (Normally, you text and tell them what spot you are in and they bring it out to you.) As usual Pappa's style, you get a TON of food. Lots of fajitas with lovely roasted/grilled vegetables, a big container of the red, yummy salsa, a LOT of tortillas, and a huge bag of their delicious chips. Now, it is not inexpensive like some of the other Mexican restaurants in town, but nobody gives you this much food. We probably had 6-8 meals out of it. Their beef fajitas are hands down the best in Texas. We have several friends who live in other states, and when they visit, this is their top place to go eat at.

Great place

By o2beinpa |

We got off to a Rocky start. The hostess seated us and had to leave to get our menus. That took so long that I finally went up to the hostess station. We finally got them.... then we were forgotten again. It was strange because every other table seemed to be getting great service. We did get complimentary apps for this oversight. With that said - when we finally got service it was amazing. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. The margaritas were delicious too. The prices were kind of high. There was a Mariachi band playing out on the patio and all I could think of was this would be a great place to hang out and drink margaritas it it wasn’t so dang hot out. The location is near NRG Stadium so very convenient to have a meal before or after a soccer game like we did. Great place! We would definitely come back!

Very good

By jknecole |

After checking in to the Hilton, we dined for an early dinner at Pappasito’s. There was a 30 minute wait but we were promptly seated. Service was so so to get started but it ended well. The food was delicious (minus the salsa, but the chips are okay) especially the rice and beans. I enjoyed the Shrimp Brochette. Try it! I would definitely eat here again. You won’t be disappointed. I hope you find my review helpful.

great place for a group

By Anne C |

We went a party of 8, got great service and they brought out enough food to choke a mule. All delicious and very satisfying.

Perfect Every Time

By mississippimuse |

Pappasito's is a restaurant I visit almost every time I am in Houston. Each time is a delight; great food and good service. The chips and dips are so good...be sure and ask for the "green" dip. the fajitas are wonderful; burritos; tacos. It's all good. Love this Pappasito's!

Great and Packed to the Rafters

By rts96 |

This place is always placed and it should be. This weekend it was even more so as it was High School Graduation and this is a perfect place to go with your family for some Tex Mex. It’s loud, crowded and packed night after night lunch after lunch for a good reason-great food and great service. The chips are perfect, thin and warm, just waiting to be salted like any Texan does and the salsa, consistent as always. Fajitas, perfect, we got the special of beef and chicken with shrimp and I asked for the shrimp to be on a separate plate for him as I have a very life threatening allergy to Shellfish and the server asked if I was allergic and I said yes, very but I have plenty of EPI Pens in my handbag. This was the second time I have been to a Pappas restaurant in the past couple of months and both times the manager came out and asked me about it and my reply is very bad-so bad the if you have shellfish on your hands you cannot touch my food. They take allergies seriously and I really appreciated it. It just adds to how great this place is and restaurant group in Houston is as well. Pappasito’s is always a good meal and a good time

Book a reservation

By Gary T |

We had dinner here on a Friday night prior to a concert at NRG. We had a reservation and were seated within minutes of arriving and over heard the Hostess telling folks without a reservation that the wait would be two hours. Our server Jaley W was professional and prompt as was the kitchen. The food was not quite your usual TexMex but still very good. The Chili Con Queso at $9.95 is a fair value and was very good. The Combination Enchiladas ($18.95) and Seafood Enchiladas ($29.95) were both consisded "very good" and "over priced". The Reynosa ($21.95) was also overpriced and somewhat disappointing since the Green Chili Enchiladas were just so-so and the Tamale had too much bread surrounding the meat.

amazing service! fabulous mexican food! huge place

By joselito1959 |

we had a group of 15 people for early dinner. yes, you will need to have reservations. the service was amazing, it was fast . the server was very professional and very friendly. great drinks. the appetizers were fabulous! the guacamole table made, the shrimp cocktail, the queso. amazing. the beef and shrimp fajitas - perfect. love their flour tortillas , made in the restaurant. there is something for everyone in the menu. the salsa very fresh. and the chips - well addictive! so good. lots of food in one plate. prices are very good.

Slow & lackadaisical service

By howmuchlonger |

We visited your restaurant on Friday, August 10th arriving at 8:25 pm for our 8:30 reservation. I have dined at several Pappasito's locations over the last 30+ years as I'm a native Houstonian so I won't comment on food, because what Pappasito's does well, they do very well. I am here to write a review on the poor service we received. I expect a Friday night at Pappasito's to be lively and jam packed with no parking available. Last Friday night was no exception. So with that being said, the prior Monday I called to make a reservation for a party of 14 to celebrate my husband's graduation. No problem, easy peasy. They even sent a reminder text the day of. Friday, August 10th details: We arrived at 8:25 to check in. No problem, they have the reservation and say I will get a text when our table is ready. Now I know we should expect a wait, but it was 8:45 already and no table yet. At 8:45 I ask the hostess what the status is of our table and her reply is: "they are getting your table ready, you are next". I ask for a more exact time and she replies that she can't know for sure. How can you not know for sure?!!! Don't you work here? Meanwhile there are four empty tables near the hostess stand that could have easily been shoved together. Group of three hostesses standing around doing nothing. It's 9 pm now and still no table. Husband asks hostesses again for an update and she replies again, "they are getting your table ready". He prods her for more information as to what exactly getting the table ready means and she replies they are putting chips out. His reply was they can do that while we are sitting down. So at 9:10 they finally seat us. No apology, no sense of urgency, nada. It took forever for your waitstaff to take our drink and food orders. A 40 minute wait with a reservation is ridiculous. The food didn't make up for your lack of urgency. There are other restaurants in Houston that provide better service. I cannot recommend.

Outstanding

By snagglepuss2 |

The food is excellent, service great, and the fajitas are the best in Texas! This restaurant never disappoints.

Tex mex experience

By Pablo C |

We were sitting outside where service is slower than inside. Took a while for them to bring chips and salsa and take the drink order. When finally came it was a not desire temperature. Then manager came and took the order and from then on it was satisfactory. Food to share was excellent and big. We enjoyed it

Tex-Mex

By Wayne T |

This is a must try place... from the chips and salsa to the fajitas and drinks; you will not be disappointed! We caught some happy hour deal that ended up saving us some money on dinner and no one can complain about that... by the way, it’s pretty casual dining, so no need to get all dressed up.

Just ok

By LostInTime |

I went here for dinner. The server was nice. But the service was bad. For example, drinks came when we were almost done eating. Also, I never for the tortillas for my fajitas. The prices are also fairly high. However, the food I did get was very good.

Solo trip

By Luis C |

If you love Tex-Mex food this is the place to go. Great food, great flavors and very good service. You can find several areas of this restaurant in Houston , they offer same menu at all branches.

One if the worst dining experience I've had in years.

By Dpvs B |

Arrived told them we had a party of 8 with a child (3 yr old). We were told it would be 50+ minutes wait. 3 of our party had to go to the airport for a flight. We were told the wait for a party of 6 would be 30 minutes. Our 3 family members felt the long wait would be a problem so they called an Uber to go to the airport. 20 minutes later they called us for a table, which was set up for 8. The hostess staff should be better trained. We had to dine without our other family members. When told about this the manager did not seem too concerned. Second, the waiters assistant TOSSED the plates for the caso on the table. In at least half of the instances they were tossed on to open menus. Third, the service was very slow. Fourth, the ribs were ordered and they had so much red pepper on them they were actually painful to eat For a restaurant charging these kind of prices, greater supervision is not only suggested but demanded. We have dined at Pappacito's many times over the years. This could be the last.

Heavenly Shrimp Brochettes

By Sonopete |

Great environment to enjoy with company. Our waiter was exceptionally courteous and attentive. I absolutely loved the freshness of their chips and salsa. Just having a chip or two is impossible. The whole table will turn into devouring. Their queso is really good too. We started off with the Pappasito’s Famous Shrimp Brochettes. HEAVENLY AMAZING! We ordered the Family Platter with steak fajitas. All aspects were spot on: steak bits, shrimp, chicken, refried beans, queso, shredded cheese, tons of guacamole and sour cream. YUM! The portions are quite large at Pappasito's. We ordered to share, and still couldn't finish.

Huge portions

By TiffTips |

Nice looking restaurant with friendly staff. The chips they bring out were just ok to me but my husband loved them. My daughter and I shared a combination platter and it was still too much food for us. My daughter and I also shared the margarita flight, that was fun but they were not very strong.

Great food at good price

By Robert d |

This place came recommended and it did not disappoint. Visiting on a busy Sunday evening we did not have too long to wait for a table and were soon seated. Service is very attentive and friendly. The specials on offer are very good value for money. Excellent restaurant that retains its recommendation.

Fun visit

By PJM |

Good Food, great service! The restaurant was slammed with attendees for the International Soccer Tournament, but service was fast and friendly.

Don’t go here

The place to eat while in Houston

By Aaron0774 |

Was in onu business for a couple days and the powers that pay said we were going to "Mexican restaurant". I said great always heard it was better in Texasland but didn't expect it to blow me out of the water like it did. Awesome place service was excellent. Oh and the watermelon margaritas were outstanding.

Horrible Food, Expensive Drinks

By Tex R |

We were on an overnight trip to M.D. Anderson last Sunday and decided to eat at Pappasito's for dinner. We had eaten there once before and the food was decent, but not great. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table so went to bar for a small draft beer and a house margarita. Wow, almost $20 for a small beer and a very weak Margarita. We decided to split a chicken fajita platter (almost $30). The size of the chicken breast was humongous (had to have been from a very, very old chicken). Even though it was marinated and sliced, it was the toughest chicken I've ever eaten. We literally left 3/4 of it on the plate. I fully understand the difficulties restaurants went through during 2020 and with the lack of help that is current going on. But, this was ridiculous. We definitely have paid our last visit to Pappasito's.

Was it just us?

By Margaret487 |

Had heard so much about this restaurant that I couldn’t wait to try it. First impression....LOUD !!! It is a big, noisy, very busy place. Salsa and chips come out first which were good. The best dip was one that was creamy with avocado and green peppers. The husband and I both ordered shrimp quesadillas. They were just okay to both of us. Sweet, greasy and a lot of cheese. Others ordered fajitas, ribs and tacos. The meals are huge and definitely can be shared! For dessert we had the quesadilla with cinnamon and honey which was quite tasty. Maybe we just ordered the wrong item because we were the only ones that did not enjoy the food. And it was way too noisy for our liking.

Had a great lunch, had a great waitress, and great experience first enjoying warm chips and salsa, for my meal I had the fish taco with a beef enchilada lunch special it was excellent a very tasty enchilada and taco was tasty with a large portion of fish.

Take Out Fajitas

By John N |

Stopped in on the way home and placed an order to go. While I was waiting the waitress gave me chips and salsa. I thought this was very good hospitality. The food was excellent and extra salsa chips were included. The food was good quality and well put together in the nice take out bag.

Great little place

Went here for a wedding rehearsal party. Staff was great food was excellent large portions and the atmosphere was great definitely a place to visit

Still got it.

By TampaDocFoodie |

I first ate at Pappasito's when I used to live in Houston almost 30 years ago, and quickly became one of my favorites. Many years after leaving the city, I came back to Houston to visit, and the first place I wanted to go back was Pappasito's. And I am glad I did. They still have the same wonderful food I remembered. Pappasito's have the best beef fajitas. Ever! Service is just efficient for a casual dining place. Highly recommend.

We were seated right when we walked in! Waitress was a little slow, but it was busy! Food was good but way overpriced! Alcohol was worth every penny!

Delicioussssss

By 693erin |

I had a lunch special, chipotle shrimp. It was aaaaamazing. Seriously one of the best things I've ever eaten.

Overpriced Mexican

By Joel C |

Salsa had no taste. The rice was a step up from Taco Bell. The fajitas had no sizzle effect. The flour tortillas were hard. I had to reorder a new batch. The quality at the location by the Hilton downtown Houston has gone to the Dumps! You are Better off going to another Mexican restaurant that is less expensive and has more traditional flavor. If you like the Tex Mex style, then Gringos is better and cost half the price. I was very disappointed they use to have good quality food. Maybe try one of the other locations!

Good food

By Zinnie K |

Good food and great service, the day I went was super busy but they were fast enough to get the food in no time. Will definitely visit again.

Excellent food and service as well!

By ladybugtx76 |

I don't usually give five's but this establishment is worthy of such a rating. The service was EXCELLENT--thanks Chad!, and the food was wonderful! It tasted fresh and delicious! We had some special orders and all were taken care of with an "absolutely" attitude and all was on point. I wish we could have such a place in our town, not too far from the Houston! If so, I would hope it is just like this one!

Great Tex-Mex with great service

By glhenry |

My wife and I ate at Pappasito's for the first time during our trip to Houston. And we were very pleased. The waiter was wonderful. Just a very nice, friendly, helpful young man. He really took care of us during our dinner. The location is very convenient and nice. Well appointed and pleasant. The food was great. We both loved our meals. And our beverages. It was just a very nice evening.

Good but not top notch

By Mark M |

So the chips started out good. My dinner had homemade tortillas which was very nice. But I ordered the shrimp and for $25 bucks I expected more. And the dish didn’t go together. Butter shrimp with Spanish flare? Started downhill. My silverware was dirty that bothered me because it is dark in there. But all in all average. $60 bucks out the door, by myself. 2 beers.

Not A Legendary Experience!!

By Sugah-n-Pops |

With a name like Papasito’s my taste buds were excited, but this food lacked the flavors that I have come to enjoy in Mexican food. This was quite disappointing, being that I truly enjoy the Papadeaux Seafood Restaurant right next door that just so happen to be owned by the same owners…I just wish they had the same quality Chefs.

Amazing

By bdaltybenn |

We searched for Mexican while in Houston. This was literally the best Mexican I have ever had. Ever! Loved it! Guacamole made table side was amazing. The fajitas were the best ever and the chicken Enchiladas were awesome. I cannot wait to go back!

AMAZING FOOD!! IMPECCABLE SERVICE!

By Amber |

Visited here for our first time 2 Weeks ago! We were HIGHLY Impressed ; As restaurant owners/GM’s we can be some what critical . Our Waiter (Xzavier ) was very knowledgeable and thorough on our questions (and we had lots of questions bc the menu is HUGE) HE MADE GREAT SUGGESTIONS (2 of which we ordered and LOVED) He was so friendly and attentive !! We later found out he was only in TRAINING! GOOD HIRE PAPPASITOS... WE WOULD TAKE HIM IN TN. ANYDAY! That aside, the food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. LITERALLY NOTHING WE TRIED WAS BAD! I will say my favorite was the guacamole it was TO-DIE-FOR!( *Dont order the table side one, just the one in the big bowl , bc it has big avocado chunks. ) Fajiatas we’re OUTSTANDING & It was a GENEROUS portion! Red Fish Tacos are some of the best I’ve ever had . A LITTLE ON THE PRICEY SIDE, BUT YOU DEFINITELY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. GREAT FOOD & PLENTY OF IT! OH AND LET ME ADD.. THEY HAVE AMAAAAZING MARGARITAS.. TRY THE *FLIGHT* OF MARGARITAS IF YOU CANT DECIDE !HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE IN THE AREA !

Best Tex Mex PERIOD

By Scot |

FIrst let me clarify this is for the location at I 10 and Frontage Road...it was not listed on Trip Advisor. At any rate OVER THE TOP Tex Mex....best in the Country in my opinion. Salsa is awesome and even the refried beans are tremendous! Had lamb chops, crabcake stuffed shrimp, pork tamales and seafood enchiladas as an entree. All WONDERFUL. Only comment is some very obvious items seem to be left off the menu like burritos and Chile relanos. Expensive but you get what you pay for and I have not had better Tex Mex anywhere.

Best Mexican I ever had perfect food, perfect drinks, perfect service,I mean what else can I say. Everything was the right temperature the right taste served at the right time.

A very popular spot

By 1879fulham |

With rodeo going on at the nearby stadium this restaurant and bar was packed out when we arrived on an early Monday evening. The bar was heaving with a lot of cow Boys and Girls. Made for a great atmosphere and the Margaritas certainly went down a treat. After a couple of those we were then escorted to our table where we enjoyed a selection of great Mexican dishes. Everything was fresh and delicious. Very impressed with this restaurant and would definitely return again without hesitation.

Went to eat dinner with my relatives from Illinois. It was there first time here and at this restaurant. We all had something different and everyone was very satisfied.

“Guest”

By Getaway623525 |

Waited and waited and waited. Over a half hour to have a drink delivered. Over a half hour later the food arrived. Waitress took the order and never returned until she brought the bill. Young guy - possibly a manager - tried to be helpful but had his own guests to attend to. Food was good but the wait and disorganized service ruined the evening. Too bad - every time we visit Houston we visit Papasitos. But not this location - ever again.

fajita Wednesday

By Irene H |

fajita Wednesday-1 lb Beef & Chicken Fajita Serves 2-3 $48.95. we ordered a watermelon margarita pitcher but sure we were served strawberry- way too sweet. recommend doing reservations online to avoid wait time. plenty parking - big lot. salsa not spicy at all - more tomato sauce.

Huge property with a good menu filled with options

By 1234texas |

This was our first time here and we will use it when we need a "Mexican fix." The service is good, the place attractive, the food excellent, and very popular even in "off" hours. The only negative is the very tight parking area--tough to get a big pickup truck parked in it. The location is on the east side of 45 south of Houston.

it's been a few years and it was still great!

By RedHornet72653 |

Too much food, excellent taste and the place was rocking. They had way too much business and the waiter was overwhelmed. He was talented and managed, though he was assisted as are more places now. The portions were too large and it's no wonder the world is obese today.

Worth the stop and wait

We wanted some good Mexican food before we flew home, All the reviews said Pappasito's would be worth the stop. We had a 15 minute wait which wasn't bad all things considered. I ordered a Filet Mignon and Green Chili Chicken Enchilada and my wife had the Seafood Enchilada. I was thinking filet and chicken in the enchilada, boy was a wrong. It was a perfectly cooked 6 oz filet topped with green sauce with a green chili topped chicken enchilada. Damn was that a great combination. My wife's Seafood enchilada was filled with shrimp and scallops plus had some on the side as well. My wife enjoyed her Reserva Margaritas, a bit pricey. We saw several orders of fajitas come out of the kitchen, the menu says they'll serve 2-3. Based on what we saw they would easily This will be a sure stop for us when we travel through Houston from now on.

Excellent

Great atmosphere, service and great Mexican food. Glad we had reservations (5pm) because when we left, the line was long. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellence!

We love love love this place! Food came out hot! From chips and salsa to our meal it was so plentiful!!! The decor is gorgeous, music and place is clean!!! We will always eat there when in Houston!

Good food and GREAT SERVICE!

By El1Lobo |

Had a good meal but want to comment on the service. We had Kimberly D. She made the meal great. She was on top of everything. Gave us space when we needed it and service when we needed. Refills showed up and she had a good attitude. Definitely a cut above for waitresses. If they have an employee of the month she would have my vote.

Good

By Suzanne F |

Very good food and we were able to find parking nearby. The service was good but the prices were high for a lunch menu (only 1-2 dollars difference from the regular menu).

Good but not to my expectation

By Cody M |

This place served me a nice Mexican meal but after eating at the seafood place next door that is part of the same company I had very high expectations. Sadly I was disappointed. I would be happy to come eat here again but I would have more reasonable expectations next time. I was especially disappointed in the chips and salsa. I always love when a restaurant gets the chips correct and I assumed a place of this reputation would hit it perfect. Once again I felt they were just average. Everything was still edible and tasty but not what i hoped for.

LAVISH LUNCH

By Judy W |

No small portions here! Great lunch with friendly and attentive staff. Recommend this restaurant to y'all.

Hay Mamacita!

The environment at Pappasito's was very warm and family oriented. The food equaled the environment. Would be happy to eat there again upon on next trip to Houston.

Appetizers

By nowpacking |

We stopped in for chips and queso before the game. First off, this is a beautifully decorated Pappasito's. It is huge and very loud. When the kitchen server brought out our queso and plates he carried the small plates with his thumb right in the middle of the plate - I chose not to use it. Queso was good and I know this place is pricey but $8.95 is really pricey for a small bowl. We were not offered flour tortillas or brought more chips or drink refills. We asked for the check and paid the $10 bill with a $20 and got two fives for change. Sadly, we did not feel the quick visit warranted a $5 tip.

The Devil Went Down To Houston

By Jodie Lynn and David Chesney |

The Diablo shrimp is delicious!!! It was 1/2 price fajitas so we added the shrimp and it made the meal! The homemade flour tortillas are a game changer in the fajita world. Can’t wait til next Wednesday to eat again!

for lovers of Mexican cuisine

By Roger W |

During our visit to Houston we were recommended this restaurant. The location is very large. Nevertheless, when we were here on Friday night, what the restaurant was full and we had to wait around 30 minutes. The staff is friendly and so we got some tortilla chips while waiting. The food itself tasted good. The portions were large enough and also priced it is fine for what was offered. If you like to eat Mexican, you certainly won't go wrong here.

Awesome Fajitas and service

By jason s |

I will start by saying our server was great! She suggested we get the beef for the fajitas medium rare, we were skeptical, but they were amazing!! They hand make the tortillas right in the dining room also. The Margarita was great too. We are definitely going back when we go back to Houston.

I wish there was one of these in my home town!

Pappasito's Cantina is a very festive place and looks like a fun dine-in experience. However, I lost my tongue to cancer and have to liquify my food to inject into a feeding tube in my stomach, so I always have to order To Go. But the food looks and smells wonderful, and portions are big. The menu is extensive and anyone who enjoys Mexican food is sure to enjoy a meal from Pappasito's Cantina.

Good yes mex

Sat at the bar, service was friendly and attentive. Portions are huge and a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Service was very quick, I'd eat here again

Terrific, friendly service

By David S |

Our server - Monica - was very friendly and attentive. All of the staff we encountered where friendly and helpful. The Baja Fish Tacos were tasty. I chose that with grilled fish. Good portions. In fact the tacos were a bit over stuffed causing them the fall apart.

DELICIOUS!!

By gailhouston |

We went for the first time to this location in over 2 years. On Wednesday's, they offer half off on their fajitas. We did the chicken/beef fajitas. So WONDERFUL -- amazing flavor. Great service .. someone by the name of Chandler was our server. She was very sweet and attentive. Their chips are so good … Rice and refried beans are wonderful too!!! Portions are huge at this location. Yes, it is noisy, but that is what makes it fun!!

Sloppy service, so-so food, and very loud atmosphere

By Jennifer B |

A group of 10 ate here on a Saturday night. The place was packed, very loud. Service was slow and sloppy. The food came out in bits - like one or two plates at a time spread out over 20 or 30 minutes. I ordered chicken & steak fajiatas. They came out cold, not a sizzle or steam coming off that cold plate and it took another 15 minutes to try and get tortillas to go with them. So much for good food. It was too noisy to even talk across the table. I was from out of town but would NEVER go back when visiting the Houston area. I'm not sure which location we were at.

Tex Mex!

By Ashwini G |

Good Tex Mex food in the loop. Sometimes overcrowded and hard to have a conversation. One of the foolproof mexican choice in town. Crab cakes and Calamari appetizers are must try. Entrees does have too much cheese but the taste is pretty good. Lunch portion was humongous. Overall good food!

Good food and Great Atmosphere

By AlanByrne |

We were at a conference and eight of us visited Pappasito's for the very first time. The Cheese Enchiladas were very good and the drinks were excellent. They have a large number of large tables so they can handle a lot of large parties. They had at least four birthday parties going on while we were there.

Alot for your money

By Sharon M |

The amount of food received is more than ample for two people. The quality is supreme. I recommend the guacamole and chips. Yum!

Pappassitos to go orders

By Zio |

Fajitas are delicious but they charge you extra if u order it to go. Plates are already expensives. That's sucks.

Excellent Food and Service

By Melissa B |

I loved my experience both times I ate here during my stay in Houston. The food is excellent! I had both the fajitas and the tacos and they were amazing and the chips and salsa was the perfect add on to the meal. The service was top notch with friendly wait staff and timely in their taking your order and delivering the food. My drink was refilled several times without having to flag somebody down. An overall great experience both times.

Slow service, overcooked food, at this price? $$$

By Mediaartsdad |

Drinks took so long we were done with dinner by the time they arrived. Service was poor, and so loud we couldn't hear our server when she was talking to us... And we were there early on a Thursday evening.

Very good Tex-mex

By Joyful9995 |

The food here is delicious but it’s a little pricey. However I enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. If I’m ever in Houston again, I will definitely go back.

Oversized Taco Bell

By Heston Y |

It wasn't a bad experience. In fact, If I were coming here for drinks, it would probably be fine. The food is not good. I had the beef tacos and they were oversized spiced up taco bell tacos. You might be thinking taco bell tacos are good. They are at taco bell. They are not good here. The beans are uneatable. The only thing worth eating here was the chips and salsa.

Good food

By Cbethlynn |

We had a delicious Tex mex dinner here. They also have fun drinks. The food was good, well presented and prepared. Nice friendly service, good atmosphere. The tortillas are delicious!

Average Mexican cuisine. Overpriced

By Running Man |

This place is just a notch above the fast food mexican restaurants. Server was awesome. Meal was overpriced for what you got and menu is extremely limited, even by Covid standards. When staying downtown again, I will definitely choose other options.

Awesome food

By timvf101 |

We ate dinner here last night and the food was very good. It’s been 2 and a half years since we have been to Houston and this is one of our favorite places. The chips and salsa were great, very thin chips which we loved and the salsa was warm, only place we have been to that does this. We had the fajitas beef/chicken and it was very good. Our beans were so salty we couldn’t eat them. We also noticed that the portions were smaller than they were a couple of years ago. Our friends had the lobster and they said it was excellent. They did comment that they thought everything was very salty. It was busy but not overly for a Saturday night and we found the service to be very slow. We also noticed that the girl who comes to your table and makes guacamole was not there. That use to be something we liked, not sure if they did away with that or were just short staffed. Looking forward to our next visit here hopefully in the near future.

Overall great food!

By kalrashed2018 |

Everything here is good! Some of the best things on the menu though are the beef fajitas (just something about all those flavors in the beef!), chipotle shrimp, and the margaritas. All of them! Strong and delicious.

Great Food and Great Margaritas!

By Christian P |

My wife and I arrived expecting a large crowd, it was crowded but not bad. A little pricier than most Tex-Mex restaurants, but worth it. I went with the Superior combination dinner. Two chicken tinga enchiladas, pork tamale, and chicken fajita taco with beans and rice. Two people can share from this dinner. It was delicious! My wife chose the Camarones Diablo. Huge broiled butterflied shrimp with a little kick. Comes with tortillas, beans and rice. She loved it. The Margaritas are awesome! Not too pricey and not watered down. This is a great place for couples and families or friends and coworkers. A very casual environment. Excellent service.

Great food, but very loud

By Sladphie |

We stopped here on the recommendation of a local resident, who said it was her favorite Mexican restaurant in town. We really enjoyed the food and the portions were more than ample. The tortillas are made by a machine in the dining room which my kids enjoyed watching. The churros were fantastic for dessert - and the portion was so large that 4 of us shared the plate and couldn't finish them! The one negative is that the restaurant was pretty crowded and loud. In fact, we were so close to the neighboring tables that it felt like we were eavesdropping on every conversation. But otherwise, the food and service were great and we would probably return here.

Poor Service and Food not Warm

By Milton M |

I ordered online and waited for 20 min after my food was supposed to be ready before it was delivered. It was barely warm, and the order was incorrect. No chili con queso was included with my Fajita Wednesday dinner, and the wrong type of beans were in the order. People who arrived after me received their food before I did, although no food was delivered prior to 4:15. This is just the latest example of poor service from this Pappas Restaurant location.

$29.99 for two fajita tacos!

By Miguel N |

Horribly Expensive...Beans, Rice and Tacos almost $30.00! Not sure what they are thinking, not coming back.

Pappasito's

By EVELYN H |

I have consistently had great food at Pappasito's. I especially love the Humble, Texas restaurant. I recently picked up an order from that location and was dissatisfied with the portion- not the food. I paid almost $50 for the meal but the portion was a lunch portion. I called the restaurant..spoke to the manager Taylor. Taylor was so kind and understanding. She listened to my "complaint" and immediately had a satisfying solution. I was happy !! I will continue to go to Pappasito's to enjoy their great food. I hope Taylor continues offering such excellent service !! You. Rock.Taylor !!!

TexMex Goodness and Close to NRG Stadium

By Great_Beer_Now |

Papasitos Cantina is one of the better TexMex chain restaurants. We visit here whenever we cannot decide on a TexMex restaurant because we know that Papasitos is always sure to please. A recent visit to NRG Park left us hungry and in need of a TexMex fix, so off to Papasito’s we went. This Papasito’s location is right next to the 610 loop and very close to NRG stadium. It can get extremely crowded here on game days or before/after concerts and other events. Even when there is no event taking place, the prime times of day are bound to send lots of people to this Papasito’s location, so be prepared for a wait. Papasito’s locations are large and this one is no different. The inside dining area is big and there is outdoor and bar seating, too. Due to its large size, tables open up at a regular rate, so even if it’s busy, you should get a table in reasonable time. While you wait, I recommend trying a house margarita or other drink. The beer selection is weak, so it’s best to stick with cocktails. With the food, it is well- prepared and delicious. I have found the service to be efficient when I visit here and on my most recent visit, I was impressed at the extra care we received from the wait staff. They even brought me an extra cup of ice to add to my glass of iced tea, just in case I felt it wasn’t cold enough. I didn’t ask for this- they just went ahead and did it. I appreciated this kind gesture and it increased my opinion of the restaurant overall. Food portions are good at Papasito’s but one should keep in mind that the prices are higher than average and there are really no low cost options. Even the appetizers are pricey, so expect to pay more at Papasito’s than you would pay at other TexMex restaurants. Like I said, they pretty much hit the mark with the food quality at this location and others, but the prices of the food and drink need to be considered before you visit. I usually avoid chain restaurants, but they will do in a pinch and Papasito’s is one of the few chain restaurants that is on- par or better than the quality experienced at non- chain restaurants. If you can get past the prices, you will find that this Papasito’s and others are very good places for TexMex and the close distance from this specific restaurant to NRG make it a convenient stopover for post entertainment action.

Muchos Gracias!

Alright y'all if you're ready for some super delish tex mex well look no further! Came here(FM 1960 location next to Pappadeaux) with a lunch group for Administrative Professionals Day, the company of course was awesome, but when the food came, I was astounded! Perfectly grilled succulent shrimp with that butter sauce! Magnifico! The fried chicharron with Monterey dip was fantabulous! I wanted to stuff it in my purse and take it home! My co-workers plates were just as amazing! I definitely would like to go back and try the Fajita tequila lime salad! Even the tacos were large and smelled amazing! Little steep for the pocket but oh so worth every penny! You will definitely end up taking some leftovers home to enjoy! Well worth the trip from the staff, the outside ambiance, to the food! Well done Pappasitos! Muchos Gracias! Sayless!

Accepting the Good with the Bad

By P.A. |

Me and my family with to Pappasito’s to celebrate my son’s birthday. There was bout 30 of us there. Usually, I just do all bad reviews or all good reviews, but this one will be a bit different starting with the good. Hats off to Manager Kennedy who took very good care of me after I told her of my disappoint with the restaurant. She did several things well: she was an excellent listener, showed great compassion had a true desire to make things RIGHT, and most of all she never once made me feel like somehow, I contributed to the events that happened. Instead of me doing what most people do, (approach management in anger, be disrespectful, and make it impossible to turn the situation around), I instead approached her with grace. In exchange I was compensated with a comparable gift card for my troubles. So back to the beginning, we drove in from Beaumont TX for the event and wanted to get there early to ensure seating would not be held up due to an incomplete party. As we arrived, we were greeted by staff. It was a bit cold, so we decided to get a drink at the bar while we waited. A lovely lady by the name of Amethyst assisted us. She was amazing! Not long after we sat down, the rest of our party arrived, and we were set promptly. We closed out our tab at the bar and took our seats. Our table had two waiters, but I only remember Eric since he was the primary person taking care of us. It took a while to out in drinks and food orders which wasn’t a surprise since after all it was a LOT of us. When the food came out it seemed everyone got their meal but me. My food arrived (the Pappasito’s Grill), but it was not sizzling. I mentioned this to the waiter, and he apologized and told me that perhaps it was taking him a while to bring out everyone’s food and maybe they were sitting there too long. I asked him kindly to please take the order back, (and then I asked for clarity’s sake- is this meal supposed to be served sizzling…his reply was yes…I asked because I wanted to be certain that I hadn’t ordered the wrong thing). Again, he brings the order back after about a 20 minute and the meal was still not sizzling. Literally everyone else had finished their food and were packing leftovers to go. Here was my issue. It wasn’t just about the food not sizzling, it was about at this time it was almost 8PM and we had been there since 4:45PM. I had ordered a watermelon margarita because I knew I could sip on it until I got some food. The b part to all this is I absolutely do not like steak with any pink… part of me ordering sizzling food is because I know the meat will continue to cook and be just right when I am ready for it. The c part is now I have a 2-hour ride back home with no food in my stomach. The d part is I lived in Florida for the last 7 years and recently returned to Texas, I was overjoyed that my son chose Pappasito’s for his birthday outing; we do not have a Pappasito’s in Beaumont. So again, thanks to Kennedy your restaurant has saved a client. Not just 1 but in this case 29 other patrons. The entire table was constantly asking what’s taking so long, offering me some of their food, and just generally not happy…I had to encourage them to continue to enjoy themselves….did not want the attention on me for what was supposed to be a happy occasion. We arrived home safely and I ate leftovers. Manager Kennedy was very kind in not only giving me a gift card, but ensuring the gift card would work in my current location. I am looking forward to using my Pappadeaux’s gift card. It will be a great opportunity to spend a date night with my husband after this Monday’s surgery. Great place great food

By Byron D |

Someone told us while in Houston to make sure we ate at this restaurant. There was 5 of us and we were seated and waited on very quickly. Food came out just as fast and was delicious. The waitress was friendly and we enjoyed our food. We got a variety of food and all 5 of us left full and very happy.

So good we went twice during our stay

By Gustav554 |

Food great, service great. festive atmosphere. Prices on the high side but a fair value for the food. We sat inside but there is a nice outside area also.

Amazing food!

By gallagcl |

I thought I knew good Mexican food until this meal! What a fabulous taste and great dinner we had while visiting the area for the day! The flavors were so different from what I was used to. We even got a meal to take home to enjoy the next day!

Visited twice in 10 days!

By khehir39 |

Such good food and good atmosphere as well. Definitely worth the visit and plan to return. Not as thrilled with the salsa as with the fajitas but more than enough food on the small lunch plate for leftovers.

Excellent Tex-Mex for my Out of State Friends

By John G |

I never tire of this place! It's always busy and seems a little rushed at times, but just sit back and enjoy the view, chips and salsa, together with a margarita and you will soon relax! Everything I have had from the menu is enjoyable and my out of town guests ask for it by name! Haven't been next door yet, but willing to try!

Like their corn chip

By tanje1 |

It is inside of Hilton America. I like their chip. Crispy and thin. Probably due to I am not crazy about their dressing ( to me is sour and bitter). So I can only give average rating.

A Desert to Die For

By jeffreyrE7152NU |

As is the norm for all of the restaurants of the Pappa's Group, this Pappasito's offers great service and great food. But folks, be careful not to get too full to enjoy the best desert I have found in my worldwide quest for a desert that combines great taste, a pleasing appearance and a soothingness that defies description. I have included a stop at Pappasito's on every trip to Houston over the past 20 years just to enjoy this special desert. I do not know what they call it but if you ask for the ice cream ball smothered in coconut, pecans, chocolate sauce and topped with a little whipped cream, they will know what you mean. It is fabulous.

Continue to serve good Mexican food.

By AIWIW |

This place continues to serve good food at reasonable prices. Service is good and the place is spacious for big groups like ours.

Excellent choice!!!

By Melinda |

Our food was hot, the restaurant is so beautiful and clean! The grilled chicken Quesadilla was the best I’ve ever eaten!!! Our server Krista was so kind and helpful!!! Would recommend to anyone visiting Houston!!!

A lot but expensive

By Monica W |

Nice atmosphere, pricey food but you get a lot. Hot in there and very crowded. Which i guess is good for them. Table for 4 was way too small.

Terrific service and food!

By Brian B |

We travel to Houston on a regular basis. This was the first time we visited this restaurant. The service and food were outstanding. This will be our "go to" Mexican restaurant when we are in Houston.

Just a Mexican place with regular mexican food. Nothing special.

By René B |

Way to expensive, price/quality for me too expensive. Crowdy, noisy, staff not remarkable good, we we’re sitting out front, maybe that was not the best idea. People just forgot us to serve....we ordered Faijtas for 4 persons. Meat ok and good flavoured. The side dishes extremely bad quality! Never again.

Delicious food

This is very good place and spectacular service . The foods is good. Food very well prepared and served with satisfaction. I recommend

Amazing!!!

By Jasmine W |

Pappasito's is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have visited. Everything is fresh and the portions are great and affordable. We did the Family Platter #1 and it was very filling and included beef, shrimp, chicken, and ribs with a garlic butter sauce to die for. The family platters are enough to serve 3-4 people and come with choice of beans (refried beans amazing) and rice. The drinks were amazing. Our server Sammy was amazing and very helpful with our large party. The restaurant was very family friendly and clean. Will definitely be back!!!

Delicious Dinner

By HendixMom12 |

On our first visit to Houston (and TX), we wanted to try Tex-Mex, and my son and DIL chose Pappasito's. Great choice! Although it was a 45 minute wait for a table, we were able to sit in the bar area immediately, and the bartenders and servers were terrific. The chips were some of the best ever. We had the cheese enchiladas topped with chili con carne, served with rice and beans. the grilled shrimp with Mexican butter, rice and guac, and the Seafood enchiladas (with shrimp, scallops & avocado in a cream sauce). Everything tasted so fresh and delicious! Highly recommend!

No disappointment here!

By C L |

This is our 3rd visit as we travel to MDA We learned before one entree is enough for 2. We split the filet fajitas with stuffed shrimp. AMAZING! The two of us couldn’t eat everything. Service was great thanks to Vance we highly recommend!

Good

By Sharon K |

We went here for the first time on a weekend trip to Houston. It was packed and there was a waiting period of about a half hour. The food was good and service was good also - especially considering the amount of people there.

Great food

By Tenique G |

Great food and service! Waiter Brian was awesome and patient with our party of 10. Indoor temperature was comfortable and food was hot

Great food with fast service

By Kenna G |

I made a stop here for lunch while staying at the Hilton America. Service was quick and delicious. It was priced well and the portions were a nice size

Very Good and Predictable Tex Mex

By KellerWags |

I like going here as it is always pretty good. They have amazing shrimp and surprisingly the crispy tacos are good as well. It's not very spicy and their salsa is definitely on the not hot side. Service is always good.

Unhappy with Managment

By Phillip W |

We liked coming here and sitting in the little room in the back because it only had a few tables and seemed more private. The last two times we came here to eat the manager said we can not sit there Saying he didn’t have enough servers! The thing with that statement is the nearest table being served was 4 feet away. It is a small request but they Make it out to be like a big issue!

Nice food

By Yogesh L |

We ordered lunch and combination of veg and non veg Stirr fried Veggies were good Rice variety was also nice but was bland in taste Nachos were good with some toppings Tried Corn Tortila and was not bad. Overall good food and worth the price.

Fajita Heaven

By Robin M |

The most tender steak fajitas I have ever had. Excellent food! Our waiter (Colby) was just awesome. Also the chicken fluatas and cheese enchaladas were great too.

$20+ tacos? No thanks

By M Y |

Went for a dinner with friends after a big event at NRG. Looked at the prices... And we all thought that for this kind of money, we'd better go to Pappadeaux next door. And that was the right choice. Mexican food should not be this ungodly expensive.

Huge servings, beautifully served

By Sandy H |

I was amazed at the size of the burritos which came with beans and rice. No way I could have finished both. Perhaps the reason I couldn't eat all of my burritos was because they serve paper-thin tostadas with an excellent salsa while one waits for their meal. I can only say I am glad the meal came quickly before I totally filled up with those chips. Everything was very fresh, there were large hunks of chicken and the plate looked beautiful before I dove in and started eating!!

Have I mentioned the Salsa?

By Mauilani2019 |

This is not the first time I have been to this Restraunti. It is a very popular local place . As it can handle large groups and small intimate tables as well. The music greats you with local music that is just loud enough for you to be able to talk to your waiter and your group with out yelling. The Salsa is freshly made just like their Tortilla’s the machine and the team member that runs it can be seen as you walk in. It is family friendly and the staff can recommend all their favorites . Our waitress wanted us to try this large ‘FEASTA PLATTER”. It had BBQ ribs, BBQ shrimp , fajita chicken and steak mixed in with vegetable yummy. Great recommendation. Everyone in our party had a favorite and we had leftovers.

A 5 out of 5. Great staff. Very tasty food and an excellent house margarita. Chicken flaunts were perfect. Delicious and cooked just right. Everything was super fresh. The house margarita was outstanding!

Consistently great food and generous portions

By Claude Y |

It is a bit loud and there always seems to be a wait, but the food is well worth it. Two of us split a sampler plate with tamales, enchiladas, rice, beans, and a large taco. It was a challenge to finish it all, but it was too good not to!

Airport Location Two Thumbs Up

By Joleen W |

Had a long early layover airport and your location in Terminal A was a fantastic experience! Server Michael was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous… Huevos Rancheros were delicious and pretty as a picture!

Price increases

By John F |

Visited the curbside pick up during covid 19 and ordered the beef enchiladas dinner was charged at least $10 what they normally cost before this. I have been going to pappasito's for over thirty years now. Food is good unfortunately this rubbed me the wrong way. Good job pappasito's you lost a thirty year old customer

Great dinner but loud restaurant..

By Arkansastraveler74 |

We had to wait around 15 minutes at 5:15 pm for a table. It was so busy and very loud. We had a hard time having a conversation. Food was good.. recommend the beef fajitas. Such great flavor. Sopapillas were great!

TexMex Lunch

By KevinL41872 |

I was a bit surprised to learn that this chain has three local locations of varying menu. A Tuesday afternoon lunch saw a large, loud crowd. A bit of a quick wait and then sat. Had some chips and queso then main meal of fajitas and salads. Our server was a bit flighty but attentive. We were served quickly and in and out in about an hour. Food was hot, tasty and fast. Not a bad take.

Perfect airport meal

By Lenny S |

We ate a great quick meal at Hobby. The waitress was aware of the food prep times and delivered. The meal was colorful and tasty. They use a lot of ice in drinks, so beware of a potential brain freeze!

Great salsa and great food!

By Karri D |

The salsa was amazing and our food was even better! We all loved the cocktails we ordered as well. Pappasitos is a little more pricey than your average Mexican restaurant (compared to what we pay in the Midwest) but the portions were generous and the service was outstanding. Well worth the visit!

Great service!

By kaufmansn |

I'm fairly certain that the tortillas and salsa are made in house - at least they taste as if they are! We enjoyed a delicious meal of nachos and fish tacos with a signature margarita. I highly suggest any of the Pappas restaurants if you are in the Houston area.

Have not been since before Covid. Food was average at best. Many more TX mex better. Drinks slow and expensive. Prices are ridiculous especially for no outstanding dishes.

Good Tex Mex

By RBD930 |

This was our last meal in Houston, on the way to the airport we stopped for lunch. We ordered the beef & chicken fajitas. The flavor was very good and the homemade tortillas made the dish. It came with the usual pico, cheese, sour cream, rice, and beans. The meat plate also came with a garlic butter and lime. If I were to order again, I would order just the beef- yum!

Margaritas and Fish Tacos

By konacoco |

Excellent fish tacos! Very fresh and flakey fish. Delicious margaritas! You can make your own with your favorite tequila. The atmosphere was festive. My only disappointment was the chips. They were tasteless and very thin.

Great Food

Stopped by for some early dinner with the family. The atmosphere and environment are good for a family sit down for some great food. The hostess was good and the staff was very friendly. The server that attended to our table was very nice and courteous. I definitely recommend this location to any one passing through or in the area.

The steak and chicken fajita was the best I ever tasted. The environment was beautiful and welcoming.

My first time visiting Houston and decided to have Mexican food for dinner, I saw this place near my hotel and stopped because we thought it was so beautiful. The outside patio was gorgeous, it was even more beautiful inside. Wow I'm glad we decided to stop it was Amazing! We ordered the chicken and steak fajitas the steak was so delicious and tender it melted in my mouth and the chicken also so delicious and tender came with a delightful garlic butter. The beans that came with were great. For dessert I recommended the tres Leche cake. The restaurant manager Cane was so friendly and visited with us making us feel so welcome. Our servers Genisis and Wendy were terrific.

Noisy and overpriced

By Sami C |

We went to this restaurant as we had heard good reviews. My husband loves his taquitos and I'm vegetarian. 1st. This place is super noisy and don't expect to have a conversation. 2nd Super expensive. First, the tacos were made with hamburger and not steak and when the waiter offered the tacos with steak and he saw the price he was shocked. The price for a bowl of tortilla soup was more than $15! There were no vegetarian options and I was going to settle for expensive guacamole and chips just to be there. We ended up walking out. Maybe if you are in a party mode and want to drink Margaritas and don't care about the price this place would be okay. Otherwise, don't waste your money and look elsewhere. This is just a chain restaurant and nothing authentic. We went back to 100% Taquitos (not a dining restaurant though) instead and had a feast for the price of one meal!

Omg! Must eat here!

By Stacie R |

First thing you are greeted with is a smile from the hostess. The server, Robert, was so friendly. He remained friendly with the extra needy family sitting next to me but that’s another story. I started with a watermelon margarita and queso. The chips were hot and fresh. Queso and margarita excellent. For my main entree I got the chicken and steak fajitas. The portion sizes are huge! I could’ve easily fed my whole family with this. I have leftovers for lunch and supper tomorrow. I ordered the Tres leches cake to go because I was so full even with my 5 pounds of leftovers. It is so yummy! Robert really was an amazing server and the food is delicious. I would highly recommended this place to anyone in Houston.

Why didn’t we try this place first!

By Arcadio R |

We went to eat here with friends and my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. We tried three other different Mexican restaurants, but none were to our liking. We should have tried Pappasitios sooner. Planning on going one more time before we depart back home.

Quick lunch at the bar.

By SCPellegrin |

Quick lunch at the bar. During a recent visit to Houston I stopped at this Pappasito’s for lunch. The bar tender waited on me and was very nice and helpful. Atmosphere was great as well as the others sitting at the bar for lunch. This seems to be a popular place for lunch. Salad and salmon were perfect.. although the sauce on the fish was probably just a tad too much for me. Chips and salsa were some of the best I’ve ever eaten.

Fajitas

By Rodney M |

Good drinks, must try the combo fajitas, enough to feed 2 or 3 people. Great atmosphere and good service. The salsa could use a little more spice.

Spicy but good!

By chickychick35217 |

The restaurant must be very popular as it was packed the night we went and it's a big restaurant! The margaritas were great, the salsa nice and spicy, chips crisp, food good. The sauce that was with my enchiladas was more than I could handle but at least it was on the side so I could leave it off. It was recommended to us by both locals and people I know that visit the area so I think you can't be wrong going here.

What a lovely evening!

By Denise K |

We dined with our friend from Florida tonight, along with my husband and father in law. We had ribs and chicken fajitas, and our friend had her favorite chicken and spinach quesadillas. Everything was hot and fresh and delicious. Ashley, our server was very kind and attentive. Mariah, the manager was very welcoming. The service didn’t suffer, even though the restaurant was packed. We’ll definitely be back again!

Overly priced, loud and spicy

By PamRoad |

Pappacito's is okay if you want a diverse menu and you don't mind paying at least 40% more than other Tex-Mex restaurants in an environment where you have to yell to be heard. The food is very spicy and almost always gives me serious hearburn. The high ceilings and closely-spaced tables create an environment that is so loud and crowded that it is almost chaotic. The food is good despite its spiciness, but the environment is so irritating that it detracts from the experience. Not for me.
