We ordered a strawberry margarita and was watered down so then my wife ordered a soup and they brought here the wrong one,My plate had 1 beef fajita and 1 enchilada, and the taco had 3 small strips of fajita for 16.00 Really Never again will I stop at that place

Pappasitos has the best fajitas, but $98 for a 2 lb platter? Really? I'm not certain how any restaurant can justify this. Just they are tremendous, but $98...it hurts.

I'm from Nashville and was doing some exploring in San Antonio and was told to go to Pappasito's!!!! It did not disappoint!!!!

Pappasito's has amazing chips and hot sauce. The service is average and the wait staff seem to disappear for long periods of time. If you want corn tortillas instead of flour be prepared to wait because everyone at my table was halfway through their meal before I received my corn tortillas. The overall quality of the food is good, but they have a really hard time cooking seafood. Tonight, I received undercooked shrimp and the last time I visited, I received undercooked salmon. When the manager talked to me about my shrimp, he did not apologize, but did offered to have another dish cooked. By the time I received my meal everyone was finished, so I had it wrapped up to go. The dishes are 25+ and I expect a little bit better quality and service. I would suggest going to Chuy's if you want consistent tex-mex.

I ordered the beef and chicken fajitas and was excellent as usual. I tend to not use the tortilla at all. I just dip the meat in the amazing butter sauce they give you. We had a table of 6 and had great service. This place gets very busy so suggest you get there during happy hour. The do need to apply happy hour to the full restaurant, not just bar area. I feel that is not fair.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will always have a great experience at a "Papa's" restaurant. Papasito's continues with that tradition. Service and food were outstanding. Plenty of food for us all (we shared the large fajita's platter and the chunky made to order guacamole.) Food was delicious with the right amount of seasoning and flavors. I always look forward to eating at a Papa's restaurant anywhere in the US.

Food was great service a little backed up but over all I recommend this place for sure .... The ranch water was banging and made just right.

Pappasito's is another Text-Mex restaurant which I will probably not return to. Service at the bar sucked as we waited too long for drinks, and margaritas were watered down. The fajitas were a rip-off for mixed beef and chicken at $36.95 for a medium serving (1-2 people). The chips did not taste freshly prepared, and my sighting of the chips in a warmer behind us confirmed this . There are other choices around the medical center with better choices without a hefty price tag.

Good, but pricy food. Great ambiance. The chips and salsa was delicious. Fajitas were big in size and flavor. Service was bad thought. Took for ever to get my Coronarita. Just to get refills of salsa and drinks was ridiculous.

My wife and I arrived at 3:45, Saturday and waited 30 minutes to be seated. Three couples came in after us and were seated. We were finally seated next to the very rude Hostess podium. Ordered appetizers, waited 45 minutes without the incompetent server returning, left the restaurant, to never return. Horrible 1 hour and 15 minute dining experience. There are better Mexican restaurant choices in San Antonio.

We are from Abilene, currently residing in the FL panhandle and when passing through we make a point to stop here! The food cannot be beat! You MUST get something with tortillas, they make them fresh! The fajitas are amazing, the chicken practically melts in your mouth! The margaritas are pretty tasty too!!!

Once again it was amazing! If I get within an hours drive of a Pappasito’s I have to get me some beef fajitas! Always ask but the butter dipping sauce!

Just wanted to say how great our server Sky was! She was very attentive and took great care of us. We ordered mixed chicken and beef fajitas for two and had two jumbo frozen margaritas (wonderful). The food was excellent and service was as well. Thank you Sky for providing excellent service.

Don’t bother going there if you don’t want to wait in the heat with no service. It was ridiculous. They shouldn’t even be open if they are not letting people in the door. Stay closed and do curb side. It made no sense. People were gathered outside on their patio in the heat with no service not even water. That’s not protecting anyone. Why are you opened if you are still so restricted. Just stay closed. Very very bad experience. Go to Lupes tortilla instead much better food and you can wait inside and still spread out. I’ll never go back to papasitas again because of the way they treat their customers.

I've eaten at Pappasito's on a couple of other occasions, once in Fort Worth and once in the DFW airport. Both times, it was reminiscent of the best Tex Mex places I've eaten at in both Texas and Oklahoma. Fresh chips and tortillas, a variety of salsas and complimentary cheese dip. And of course, excellent service and delicious entrees. And, usually, a complimentary sopapilla with the meal. It's at least half again more expensive than local Tex-Mex, but has always been worth it. This wasn't that experience. We live in Florida now and it is a Tex-Mex desert. So I was really looking forward to Pappasito's, and had been telling our friends who were with us how great it is. We show up, were seated immediately and were brought really good and hot chips and fresh salsa. We asked for their hot salsa and were told that they only had one type of salsa. I asked about the complimentary cheese dip. "It's on the menu for $8.95". Someone at the table ordered it and it was like the kind you'd get at a chain like On the Border. Not good, and not complimentary. Also ordered queso fundido for the table, and it was excellent, though three tortillas didn't exactly serve a table of four. The bigger problem was in trying to order. There was very little that they could do that wasn't on the menu. My wife likes shredded chicken on her burritos. They use fajita meat chicken on theirs. Nope, can't deviate. So she skipped the burrito and ordered tocos with shredded chicken. They brought tacos with ground beef. I asked for shredded beef on my taco. She confirmed, then brought a ground beef taco. Of course, we would've happily paid and upcharge to get what we wanted (the shredded beef and chicken are on the menu for other items, so it wasn't because they didn't exist), but that wasn't offered. I had also asked for tortillas for the table for the entrees, and they again brought three. Keep in mind, the server was wearing a badge that said "TRAINER" on it. The bill was around $130 - and no one ordered alcohol. The plus side: Our friends ordered fajitas, and they were exceptional. Beautifully prepared and they told us they were delicious. Our entrees were also excellent, other than not being what we ordered (my wife sent hers back, I didn't want to hassle with it). TRAINER kept the drinks full and checked back often. In fact, everyone was very polite and attentive, they just seemed unable to effectively do anything that we asked of them, and we didn't ask for much. A manager came by to ask how everything was, and we didn't want to further delay our meal as we had a flight to catch and really were over having to explain this stuff that should be obvious. In summary, it feels a lot like this Pappasito's either has a manager that is cutting costs or they've hired a menu consultant who has decided that most of their consumers don't care if they're being short changed. The fact that it was only 25% full during the lunch rush on a Friday tells a lot. In any case, it was overall a disappointment, despite the beautiful restaurant and excellent entrees.

High quality beef. Homemade chips. Mild but flavorful salsa. Airy sopapillas. Food was good, unfortunately our service was not. I will say it appears that may have been isolated to our server; forgot an appetizer, half the mains served 15 minutes later than the others, and uncomfortably long waits in between drink refills, course, and getting the bill. If the bad service was not isolated to us I would have rated much lower, if service was perfect I would have given the food 5 stars.

I eat here when I come to San Antonio. By far the best fajitas I've ever had at a restaurant! Wish there was on in the Cincinnati area.

Mexican food that offers Excellent quality and great taste! I was visiting San Antonio and we went to Pappasito for dinner. We ordered the fajitas chicken and steak combo. It was made fresh and was very flavorful, we also added 4 grilled shrimp/prawns REALLY tasty! The place is clean but little bit loud. Overall good experience but the food is little pricey!!!

Food was delicious, service was excellent, and we would DEFINITELY return!!! They even treated us to a dessert to celebrate us being on our honeymoon!!!

i dined here with a colleague while staying at Marriott NW. The food was very good. I had the a fajita style grilled dinner, and the portion was huge! We also had a margarita, which was excellent. The atmosphere was fun, lively and welcoming. i would love to eat here again

A very popular Mexican restaurant chair in SA. Waited an hour for a table on a saturday night is to be expected here. Once seated we did not receive the stellar service we anticipated. Actually we were kind of forgotten, literally. However, after a 40 minute wait for our food the manager came over and asked if we ordered the chicken fajita quesadillas that were were sharing...our order wasn't difficult by any means. Our server never came back to the table once she brought our drinks until after another server brought our food out. So as for there service it is lacking...I am assuming because of Covid and the lack of staff. However, the manager did comp our meal and the quesadillas did not disappoint and we most definitely would return knowing this was probably just a fluke. BTW....if you want some really good sapodillas be sure to save room because they are amazingly puffy and light drizzled with honey. Warning that this restaurant is a bit on the pricy side as our quesadillas were $18 for 1.

Jorge was the best host for tonight's impromptu meal. Nothing was too much trouble, he was attentive to our table as well as covering another large table. While waiting for friends (that weren't able to make it) he plied us with double lots of chips n salsa. :) For the main, I had the Shrimp Diego / Jalapeno Sasuage / Beef dish - was so tasty with the freshly made guacamole. Highly recommended.

This huge restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a bit pricey but the portions are very generous. We started with the deluxe guacamole—comes with tomatoes, onions, queso fresco, and toasted jalapeños. My husband had chicken fajitas (homemade tortillas) and I had the combo with chicken tinga enchilada, crispy chicken taco and rice. Tortilla chips were light and superb. Clean restroom and friendly staff.

I'm very disappointed in you guys. Very! I called at 12pm to see if you can accommodate us at 5pm with 15 people, including the coming home of a disabled war veteran whose favorite place to eat here is Pappasito's. It was our favorite place too until yesterday. I've called ahead they always took care of us. I guess your policies changed or the women I spoke with doesn't like war veterans. We will never step foot in your place again. Papadeaux's either. Done with all your restaurants. We thank Golden Wok for accommodating us. $479 in food sales and another $250 in alcohol sales, and a $150 tip

The food is is ok.the atmosphere is great.the service could be better. Tha prices are kinda high if not the highest Mexican food in town except the hotels.

2 cheese enchiladas alacarte but all of sudden last 2-3 months is hit or miss if you get cheese on the top. If you order cheese that is what you want.

Great food and service. Best quality fajitas in San Antonio. Get there early before they get busy. Order something off the grill.

I wrote a review for this Pappasito's previously that was less than flattering about the service. However, my husband and I have returned to this Pappasito's a couple of times since then and I am happy to say that both times the food and the service were excellent and I am giving them a 5-star review for those visits. We love the beef fajitas and frozen margaritas and will be back.

If you're a Vegan visiting San Antonio (or from here), you can't go wrong with Pappasito's. They don't advertise it nor is it on the menu, but ask for veggie fajitas. The vegan sides to go along with this are black beans & cilantro rice. Enjoy their chips & salsa while you wait for your order. I love their food & service. I think you will too.

Staff oblivious. You wander around and they leave you immediately. Wait for water and menu. 15 minutes later, I decide to order 3 tacos de res with guacamole. Another 30 minutes, my cold tacos arrive without guacamole. Oh, said the waiter. I forgot! Skip it I said. Ate two of the hardest tortilla (old) and asked for bill. It was $39 because I order special things for taco..grilled onions and guacamole. I asked to see the manager. He said it was only $29. I never got the guacamole, so he came again abs lowered it to $19. Still, the food, service and prices were way off. I could have done better with a food truck. Never again.

Rarely do we visit Pappadito's due to its popularity. Needless to say the wait time is usually long and we refuse to wait. But the bar is a good place to hang out until you're called. The food is pretty good, the margaritas are excellent and the desserts even better. So if you don't mind, you can have a delicious drink and hang out on the patio or bar until you're seated. Enjoy!

Let me start - I love papas restaurants, especially papasitos and deaux- we go there all the time ( few times a month ). I usually go to the ones in Houston- but we were out of town in San Antonio and went to the papasitos there. The food was great, everything else was pretty horrible. I don’t know if the poor girl was new helping us or what. I am not a complainer in anyway , but . The drinks were about a 30 minute wait. They never brought any water. The manager passed like 8 times and never stopped and asked why we were sitting there with no drinks or anything. Food came - asked for water and tortillas ( which never came with fajitas). Drinks finally came after 45 minutes. Ordered a ranch water- whatever I got wasn’t a damn ranch water . I said something and they just brought me a beer and never tried to remedy the other one. It was my sons birthday. We asked to order some tres leches - hell it never came - we just asked for check and left. I have no damn clue what is going on at this Sitos- but it is way below Yalls normal standard .

My family were visiting from out of town. We had been here to dine in the past. The food and service has gone downhill. Despite reservations, we had to wait over 30 minutes for our table with the excuse of “we’re getting your table ready.” We had to ask twice for cutlery. We had ordered several of the family style platters with shrimp, quail and beef. The food took a long time to arrive and it was very salty. The beef was very chewy. The food was very overpriced for what it was. We are never going back.

The food here is always wonderful and fresh. The wait staff are outstanding. We have eaten at Pappasito's in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Atlanta. The TexMex food especially the fajitas and ribs are outstanding. Be prepared to monitor your chi and salsa intake so you won't be too full for the wonderful Mexican food. The Cameron's diablo are wonderfully spicy yet sweet with pineapple.

This restaurant was recommended by the front desk personnel at the hotel I was staying at. It was easy to pull up the menu on line and I ordered Enchilada Ixtapa, medium Chili con Queso and Chips and Salsa. My order was ready in the 15 minutes it took to drive to the restaurant (and they had indoor seating available.) The chili con queso and the right pepper bite to it and was great with chips. The enchilada were excellent. Highly recommended.

Pappasitos in Houston (any location) was one of our favorite places for Mexican food. However, this location may need to train their staff better. The service was slow and seemed unorganized. Once we finally received our food, it was very good. Unfortunately, the slow service made it an unpleasant experience.

We had a great server and as always, food was awesome! We were seated right away without a wait which was a bonus! Lots of energy and exceptional service. Always recommended the table side guacamole and the chicken fajitas!

A little pricey but the food is good lots of food on plate.Strawberry tea was good.i like the shrimp brachett and enchiladas

A group of us visited this place for lunch. From the moment you arrive you are treated as “a welcome guest”. The food is definitely HUGE portions and worth the price. Our “lunch” size portions are big enough for 2-3 people easily. The food itself was really good and of food quality. Flour tortillas are made fresh in the dining room. This is definitely a “I’m coming back” when in San Antonio again.

Another disappointing Mexican / Tex-Mex experience in a city known for the BEST Tex-Mex food in the country. I've actually had better Tex-Mex food in OK, TN and even AL. I grew up in San Antonio, so I am always excited to visit and get some great food, so when I spend the amount of money that we spent, ($55.00 for 2 people), and I don't want to eat all of my food, then it is a very big let-down.

Very attentive server. Food was good, especially the shrimp and ribs plate. Also enjoyed the chicken quesadillas by my very picky 9 year old grandson.

So we have been to Pappasitos many times over the years but hadn't been in a long time. Found ourselves in the area and decided to pop in. Holy smokes have their prices increased! On what planet should cheese enchiladas for lunch cost $21.95 for 3. Lunch beef fajitas the medium plate which we sort of thought would serve two of us was $27.95 and for that price it only comes with sour cream and cheese, guacamole is an additional charge, not even sure how much but rest assured its more than you would want to pay. The portion was only for one! Don't get me wrong the quality is there but so are the big price tags. Plus I am not a fan of their hot sauce! Our place for Mexican food is El Jarro and will continue to be. We will not be back!

Outstanding Service is the headline for this Tex Mex eatery. The chips with fresh warm salsa is a great starter. The mesquite wood grilled fajitas was top notch The server was outstanding for the entire meal. My glass was always refilled before being dry.

If you don't fill up on the chips and salsa, then you'll be in for a treat. We ordered the fajita special they had which came with Lamb chops, chicken, shrimp, and sausage. Oh and rice, beans, and tortillas. OMG there was so much food. We had to get a togo bag. The fajitas were so good. If you're looking for Tex-Mex this is it. You won't be disappointed.

Still great food but be aware of their math on their ‘suggested gratuity’ amount as it is based on AFTER TAX; not on the subtotal amount which you should pay. Going forward, Only tip on the ‘subtotal’ amount as we DO NOT tip on Taxes. Again service and food was great but was not pleased with the ‘misleading’ on gratuity. Bottom line – Just leave them cash.

I ate here alone as I really wanted beef fajitas. The meat was tough and chewy. A big disappointment. Pappasitos is not cheap and most of the time it is very good. It was a $26 mistake plus tip that I will not repeat.

Service was great, friendly. Wait staff understood the large menu, and all current draft beer options. Meal was great, very large portion. I had the tri-meat fajitas - steak, shrimp and chicken. Very tasty.

The wait staff worked so fast it was busy crazy lunch time and they did not stop going. Our food was so tasty and lots of it. We had to get a to go box.

Not only were my shrimp tacos fantastic, but I was lucky to have any room left after eating the yummy chips and salsa. The service was great too. Will definitely return when I’m in the neighborhood in the future.

Pappasito's makes the best steak fajitas in the U.S. Chips and salsa are great! Friendly staff. I always try to eat here when in San Antonio.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for at least 15 years and it never disappoints. The fajitas are delicious and the warm salsa with super thin chips starts you off right. We never miss it when we make a San Antonio trip. Our past visit was a normal busy dinner crowd, but the servers do a good job of checking on your drinks and chips while you wait on your meal. This time one entree came out super fast, while our fajita platter had an error (wrong meat sent) and had to be sent back. Something happened with the order and it took quite a while for another platter to be brought out. We asked our server to check on the status and very shortly after that the manager came over to apologize for the delay. Our food was quickly brought out and the bill was adjusted for the inconvenience. They went above and beyond what I thought was necessary to make things right and it definitely reaffirmed why I like coming to eat here. Amazing food and great customer service makes this a must eat restaurant for our family 🤩

Went here with some family while in town and was very satisfied! I split a chicken and steak fajita with a friend and was perfectly full! Portion sizes were great! The chips were fresh and the “green salsa” was delicious! Also got to try the quail and scallops, they were both very good as well!

First visit here - kitchen was running a little slow but the restaurant was very crowded - seafood enchiladas were wonderful. A nice place to stop for early dinner - it gets very loud and crowded as the evening progresses - wait staff are a little scattered at times but plenty of parking!

Every time We visit San Antonio, I eat at pappasito’s and are never disappointed. We had the fajitas and the were excellent. Our waiter Nate was spot on. The only complaint was the salsa. It’s terrible but so is most salsa we had here and in the Rio Grand Valley. It all looks like it went thru a blender and no kick.

Well I should've left quickly when both the table and chair I was seated at was absolutely filthy but I didn't. Then the menu I was handed had crumbs inside the greasy plastic covering. Then we didn't get a children's menu nor any chips as they were still cooking for close to 15 minutes....? Next we ordered. The ceviche was raw....I realize fresh ceviche is supposed to cook in the vinegar/citrus juice...but no, it was slimy and raw and had pico de gallo in it that gave it an even worse flavor if that is possilble. Food was over spiced and not well-cooked overall. Service, fair at best. Not returning! Sick to my stomach writing this too,

I have eaten at many restaurants but, Pappadito’s in San Antonio and Atlanta are both my favorites. The food has tasted fresh and great all the times that I have eaten there, about 50 times. The customer service is excellent as well.

We love Pappasitos and stop when we are Anywhere close to one. Great fajitas, quesadillas, sour cream enchiladas, and shrimp brochette.

My wife and I grabbed a late lunch with our baby in tow at Pappacito’s Cantina. The house salsa was outstanding and had less tomato than most salsas. We kicked off the meal by ordering the Queso Fundido. This was not ordinary milky queso. It was thick melted cheese with mushrooms, onions and sliced poblano peppers. It was sooo delicious! Instead of chips, we had to use tortillas to eat the queso. It was unlike any queso I have had before! Our main course was to split the fajitas with chicken and beef. Unless you eat a ton of food, one order of fajitas will easily feed two. The fajitas were amazing! The tortillas are made in the restaurant in full view of the patrons. The sautéed onions were excellent and cooked perfectly: soft but still having a light crunch. My only regret was that we did not only get beef. The chicken was good, but the steak was incredible. We had great service throughout the meal. This is a great place to stop for a delicious Tex-Mex meal! I hope to be able to visit again next time I’m in the area.

It was ok at first. Then, I had to ask for the tea, the dessert, the bill, etc… the bill was brought to me without even a thank you. I asked the girl that left my dessert for my sons to go tea and she brought it back without a word. No gave a good night. No thank you. Nothing. Unacceptable.

The food was delicious! I recommend the fajitast and the tableside guacomole! Great dining experience

I visited Pappasitos Cantina for dinner with family and friends on Saturday, September 23, 2017, while visiting San Antonio, Texas. We were promptly seated by the hostess and our server (sorry, I did not ask for his name) took excellent care of us from start to finish. We were provided with chips and salsa when we got to our table. The server took our beverage orders. We ordered the Sizzling Fajita Famosas with chicken and steak. As a group of six, this was a feast. As part of the order, every individual got an individual order of rice and beans. Our server was attentive and made sure we had plenty of freshly prepared in house hot tortillas to go with our meal. At the end, there were plenty of leftovers to take home. During our dinner, there were two separate tables that were celebrating Birthdays. The staff presented the Birthday celebrant with desert and sang to the person. It was moving to watch the joyful and festive moments the staff provided the Birthday celebrant. The restaurant is spacious and provides plenty of seating in the dining room as well as at the bar and outdoor too. The bar also has several televisions to watch sports events. We were aware the day of our visit was college football game day. We arrived at 4:30 PM for an early dinner to avoid the long lines. We were very happy with our decision to visit Pappasitos Cantina. The food was plentiful and delicious, the prices were reasonable, the staff were friendly and attentive, and we got to enjoy the festive atmosphere with family and friends. I look forward to coming back to Pappasitos Cantina the next time I visit San Antonio, Texas!

Tried Pappasito's twice with a group of four. We all found the food to be great. The Texas Redfish on a Half Shell was my personal favorite. Great margaritas too!

Stopped in to eat dinner on a Sunday after my sons baseball tournament. We had family in town and wanted them to try some good Tex mex. they were not disappointed. Great service and great food. Although I was disappointed they took my favorite dish off the menue redfish with crab meat in top. However I tried something new called campfire street tacos and it was very good. Desserts are great price good for a huge portion.

Friday night and they were busy. Waited at the bar for a table. Very Good bar tender. The wait was longer than we were told. The 20-30 minutes became 45. Chips and salsa very good. The chips are thin and crisp. The salsa mild. One order was correct, the other wrong and they removed it from the bill. The plates of food were very large. I could not eat even half of it. The fresh tortillas were excellent. Surprised that they did not have Carne Guisada.

Stopped in due to traffic on IH 10 and what a great experience! Dylan and Jessica took excellent care of us and I had the best margarita ever! We will be back again and again! Great job!

I ordered some kind of chicken soup I don’t think it was a Mexican dish. It was way too salty to eat. I left it and it came with a sad side of onion and chopped Serrano. The waitress was nice but every time you sent her for a beer or a drink it took forever to see her back again. We will not return again the food is sloppy, salty ,and unappealing. My husband joked that maybe I should try to get drunk next time and the food will taste better. Ummm...no it was really bad. If I could I would not give this place one star.

We’ve always loved this food and the Wave margarita is top notch. Beer is always ice cold, and chips are light and fresh. Hot sauce is fresh, but lacks heat, you can ask for their “hot”sauce and it is good also. Table side guacamole is awesome, you can pick your additives, but it’s a very large portion. Ribs are fall off the bone, beef fajitas are perfectly seasoned and tender, chicken fajitas were unremarkable. Diablo shrimp is my favorite, and new side dish of Fideo with butternut squash was worthy of a take home box. Only reason for 4 stars vs 5, is the large increase in prices. Each of our dishes, have increased by almost 25%, pricing it to be only special occasion eatery. It was high priced for Mexican food before price increase.

Good Margarita to start with. Then a nice selection of food and decent quality of dishes. Good nachos with a hot sauce, better than average indeed. Ribs, sausages, shrimps were all good, the rice average. The guacamole was good. Very good service from the young and smiling waitress we had (sorry I forgot her name). A place is 10mn away from the city center, but it was worth the trip.

I highly recommend this restaurant. I've eaten at this chain a few times and easy time is magnificent. The flavors are so delicious.

We went on a suggestion of a friend and WOW! We did not have reservations and the wait was only about 20 minutes but it was worth the wait Table side guacamole made to order! Probably the best I have ever had. The fajitas were on sale so we got two of the steak and chicken platters. We ate to our hearts content and took the rest home. The steak was perfect, the chicken had a great smoky flavor, the torts and chips were freshly made. Arguably the best fajitas and drinks I have had in a very long time and one of the best meals we had while in San Antonio. Also, the staff was friendly, was quick to freshen up our drinks, chips and salsa. Please do yourself a favor and try this place, you will not be disappointed!

We were visiting San Antonio and until we discovered Pappasito's, we had only tried one Tex-Mex place and were not impressed. Well, Pappasito's changed our minds about Tex-Mex food in Texas! The food was amazing and the service was wonderful. Our server was Saira and we enjoyed her immensely. She was very attentive and answered all our questions. She even replenished our chips with hot out of the oven chips that were delicious. I would highly recommend this place for delicious Mexican food that is not just the usual food you find at other places!

Pappasito’s is one of my favorites. I stop in anytime I am in town. I love the cheese enchiladas and beef fajitas so the El Sombrero combo is the perfect meal for me. The frozen margaritas are also great.

First time visit, the food was absolutely good. The chips with a little salt were addictive and tasty. Alex the manager was awesome to include my waitress Jennifer. The restaurant is huge and very inviting place to visit. It was clean and neat inside with a full bar. The restaurant layout was really nice and everyone was very friendly. The outside had plenty of seating to enjoy the sunshine while waiting. I will definitely stop by this place one more time before I leave. I hope to see you there as well so check it out. ENjoy!!!

We went here with a party of 11 people. It was during lunch and the place was packed. This did not affect the service and attention we received from the waitstaff. I have a shellfish allergy and advised the staff. The manager came out to speak with me and determined a way they could serve our family platter that wouldn't negatively affect me. It's great when people not only acknowledge your special need, but also do what they can to make your experience good. The food was great. We had drinks as well that were delivered and packed a punch. Their sweet tea is not what we are used to in South Carolina, but it was still delicious. The flour soft taco shells, chicken, beans and rice were all delicious. It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for! I would definitely eat there again if I come to the area.

The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 is because when paying for a refill of lemonade I expect more drink than ice!

Wow this is a definite win great Mexican food omg you have to eat here amazing nachos with beef brisket great guacamole 🥑 and margaritas beef tacos 🌮 we’re excellent great service by our waiter Christian ty

We were excited to have real Tex-Mex (great Mexican food in Texas)! We were so happy to have discovered Pappasito's Cantina. We started with the table side prepared guacamole and a couple of tasty margaritas. Then two of us shared the bacon wrapped shrimp, quail & steak fajitas and the kids shared the giant beef nachos. Thank goodness the server suggested "sharing." Portions were healthy and oh, so GOOD! The service was great, nice atmosphere and great food. Highly recommended!

Yes, the chips and salsa are good. Yes, the tortillas are good. That's about it. The drinks are filled with so much ice that there is hardly a drink. The steak fajitas were tough but the shrimp were not so good on their own, but dip them in the butter sauce and they become good. Why? It's the butter! We all felt stuffed when we left and could not eat breakfast the next morning. Actually none of our stomachs want Mexican food for another month.

Our favorite family tradition -- we try to go every time we are in San Antonio. We always start with top shelf margaritas and cheese dip. We do family style dinner -- bacon wrapped shrimp with jalapenos and beef fajitas with all the trimming. They make their own tortillas which are so good. Our fajitas were cooked perfect -- medium. Unfortunately, the skillet wasn't sizzling and they were cold. The server took them back and they just recooked the same meat so it was oily and overcooked. The manager took it off our bill so even though we were disappointed with the beef, she made it a good experience.

We had a great server, the food was great and the large portions were more than enough. We had shrimp with enchilada rice and beans.

This was night of celebration and feasting on dishes that featured Hatch Chilis!! The white queso with Hatch 🌶 was delicious on fresh flour tortillas. The serving size was marvelous and the queso not too spicy. The first bowl made 10! The cost was very reasonable at $10.95. In fact it was the best queso I’ve ever had. With a couple of their giant house margaritas we almost stopped there... but we ordered their Hatch 🌶 rellenos and wow😋‼️ Two Hatch 🌶 stuffed with chicken tinda in one and pulled pork in the other, covered with Hatch 🌶 verde! Our friend with a birthday had an ice cream 🍨 that was so good (and we were stuffed) it was shared around the table! This was one of the best Mexican rellenos I’ve ever eaten‼️Even when the fresh Hatch 🌶 season is over they will be serving up excellent seafood, BBQ, steaks and Mexican food.

We celebrate our birthday’s and visit the restaurant on special holiday’s too. We love the Fiesta platter, enchilada plate, Sangria/Margarita swirl and Chicken soup. Tortillas always hot and Service is Great! The soup is very tasty and highly recommend. A must visit restaurant.

We love Pappasito's- chips and salsa that no one can compete with, yes I've been desperately trying to find something close and it's impossible. While the menu certainly has changed since we were here last the food is still awesome. No one and I mean no one makes the delicious flautas that Pappasito's does and they are the best. Guacamole was so delicious. While I was sad not to see the Carne Asada on the menu anymore my husband let me have a bite of his beef tacos and that was the carne asada I remembered and loved. All is right in the world again.

Make a reservation before you go. Great service the food was good. It’s a festive loud environment!!

Stopped in for drinks around 730pm on a Monday an it was packed. There was one bartender. Waited about 20 mins for a drink. Bar is too big for one bartender.

From the moment we were seated, we were given excellent service by Edward, and excellent drinks as well as food from the bar and kitchen. The beef fajitas were VERY very tasty! Home made flour tortillas made as you order!! Excellent chips and the salsa was superb, slightly on the hot side but even my wife enjoyed!! Great job Pappasitos and Edward! We will be back!

Food is always delicious. Whenever in San Antonio, I always try to include a meal here. The food is always delicious. My favorite is the fajitas. The beef, shrimp and chicken are all a must; and will not disappoint. The wait staff is always attentive. I was especially impressed on 6-29-17 with Jose. A very young gentleman with a true understanding of excellent service!!! I will definitely return.

I must say we had a long wait, came in for dinner on a weekday and had to wait over an hour for a table. Enjoyed some margaritas while waiting and we we finally got a table, the food was awesome, best fajitas ever... I am not a fan of waiting for a table but will probably do it again if find myself in San Antonio just because of how much our whole group enjoyed the food. One more thing, place is noisy and difficult to have a conversation, keep in mind if looking for a quiet place.

I live in San Antonio, and love Pappasito's Nachos and now I know they have great tamales. Pappasito's have great chicken fajita nachos

Slow, slow service. Food arrived cold. Expensive. Not worth time and expense of going there. The atmosphere was nice, and my coffee was hot. The rest was downhill.

Pappasitos has become a tradition for my husband & I. Each year we have their Plato de Amor that is a variety of beef, chicken fajitas & shrimp and/or lobster served with their traditional sides. A Valentine's date is not complete without their delicious chocolate dipped strawberries 🍓 Make sure to call & make reservations for next year !!!

This place has excellent food and service. We eat there every time we visit San Antonio. The variety of Mexican cuisine is superb, lots of great seafood dishes, try the guacamole mixed at your table. The atmosphere is wonderful and the place is quite large, almost never a wait for a table. Some outside tables are available, depending on the season. The main menu items offer plenty of food for two people, unless you want to eat 3,000 calories, splitting a meal is a good idea.

My husband and I were there last night with another couple (business related) and got the worse service! It took forever till we got our order in! Because she was so slow (and ignored us) to begin with, I ordered the table side guacamole to eat while we waited on our meal. It didn't come. I tried many time to get her attention and I FINALLY Got it. She said, "Oh yeah, I was thinking about that!" Really?! By the time it was made our entrees came out! Kind of pointless to have it now. Our glasses never got filled. She rarely came to our table - AND it was a Monday night and not crowded! A few times I saw her just standing around! The times we asked her for something she said "Ok" but then would take a drink order from another table before she bothered with our request. About the food - it was great. Everyone loved their order. Would I go back? Probably because I've had other good experiences there. However, they need to step up their serving because this town has plenty of great Mexican restaurants that have first rate service!

So what could go wrong when your cousin is taking you out to eat? Everything! The cousin said she really likes to eat here when she is in the city so I said ok I have been there only once years ago, and it was ok, not memorable. We both order the same dish, two chicken enchiladas and a chicken taco - 14.00 lunch plate! I ordered double beans no rice. And green chili sauce for enchilada topping. Well my plate had beans and rice and the taco was laying on top of the rice and I picked it up and it was soggy. Then took a bite of enchilada and I swear it tasted like BBQ sauce!! And it sure wasn't green! I told the waitress about it, who stares and says, ahhh. Let me get my manager. Manager comes I show him soggy taco, and say who lays a taco on top of rice?? He asks if he can re do my plate. You might as well! Cousins taco was the same but she ate the messy thing. New plate arrives, Taco comes on separate plate. Enchilada was better but the chicken still had a red sauce tint to it like they use the same chicken for any/every dish. He comped meal which I said no and even told the waitress no I don't expect this and she says: oh it happens all the time! I say: Ah, that's not good! LOL My cousin did taste my first enchilada and agreed about the BBQ flavor and she told the manager that she eats there at least once a month and this was a first. He was apologetic. Anyway, Ice tea - 3.00 - to drink - had to ask twice for lemon. Very shy waitress. Chips were ok not great. Salsas were good.

Pappasittos has always been my favorite restaurant. I take all my friends and family that visit there for dinner. Every year I order 3 dozen tamales for Christmas Eve for family that travels here. This year was a total disappointment, with all the hype I give this restaurant and to get these mostly masa tamales was totally embarrassing for me. I called and voiced my concern and no concession to get it right was even offered. Hopefully it is only this location that has the sub standard food quality and customer service experience. I always go to Pappasittos in Austin, won't be going to this place again in San Antonio👎👎👎

First, the good: excellent hostess. I am unable to walk well and she automatically slowed down without making it obvious. She even seated us at a table by the windows as requested. Shoutout to Luis who let us know we could order a kids plate of nachos as an appetizer. Otherwise we would have missed out. The four beef fajita nachos were excellent and a perfect small bite before dinner. His service was exemplary. The sangria was a significant disappointment. Mostly ice, I have a hard time believing there were six ounces of sangria in there. The attached photo was after some had melted. Also, the enchilada sauce was quite salty, albeit tasty. The superior was the manager, Linda. She patiently explained the corporate policy on ice and ounces, and then she surprised us by taking the cost of the food off the bill. We will return, as the people make this place worth another visit.

The food is always great. Christopher, former medic in the Army, made our stay so pleasant and provided answers to all our questions. Thanks for the cold beer and the fajitas. The Rosa plate my uncle had was fantastic for he ate everything served with warm tortillas and he raved over every morsel of food. Thanks so much and happy holidays.

Went here for lunch and both the food and service were great! All of the servers and employees were wearing masks and the tables were separated by more than 6 feet. Felt very safe and would definitely go back.

My husband and I wanted to eat and drink. We order the 2 95.99 and had 4 drinks. In that platter was fajitas and devil shrimp and quail we couldn't eat it all so we ask to take it home. Chris our waiter brought us 1 plate container and 2 cups for beans and rice, I asked for more containers for pico and avocado and he brought me small cups I asked him I needed bigger ones and he said she would not let me get the bigger ones. Like wow 😙 we only got 4 tortillas in the meal. There was no flavored crown. What a disappointment!!!! I finally got 1 foil for my tortillas. Will i go back 👎 we spent 188.00 Papasito Cantina you have disappointed us!!!!! With the money you make we should have gotten more containers to take our food better packaged.

Well they had an hour wait but if I could a spot at the bat I could eat there. So I found a spot and did have the wait to flag wait person. Told her I wanted to drink and it was delivered in an appropriate amount of time. For a busy night the staff did well and worth the the wait and trip.

Used to be great ! But prices have gone way up but quality has gone down used to. be one of my favorite fajita spots. We sat at the bar and service was good ! For 1/2 price fajitas for two and adding the shrimp brochette and a couple beers it was 80 bucks ! But $17 for 4 shrimp that were tiny lacked any cheese or jalapeño is ridiculous they used to have the best shrimp brochettes in town. No longer ! the chicken fajitas were awesome

First off, a 1hour and 15 minute wait to get seated, and then find out we were removed from the list,,,, hello 2 folks sitting in front of you waiting for a text.. ok then we get seated, rinks ,ice tea as it is to late to have a drink, oh btw we arrived at 715 pm. This is relavent, so place orders and a manager talks to us about the waiting for our table incident, and we wait.. 2 backets of chips later and we are still waiting.. 40 minutes. Now an other manager shows up apologies and sais our meals will be right out, 15 minutes more. We FINALLY get our meals, and they're wrong. K , i just ate it ,if your keeping tabs on time 2 hours and 10 minutes. Beans under cooked and crunchy. Rice dried out and enchiladas bland. tamalli is all masa yuk... then they offer to comp our meal and have desert, ok ,we order, ,,,,,,,,, , and again wait 15 more minutes,, then they bring them out at differnt times 10 minutes apart, the curros are raw in the middle, and i just left, dont waist your time, go down town to an origanal tex mex restraunt, in market square.. its worth it. Papasitos sux,

When celebrating a family member I fell on one of their chairs...I hurt myself and even curt my leg and was offered a band aid and a bag of ice...No one asked my name or took any information from me concerning the fall...I wrote to the corporate office and someone was I was being confrontational was I ended the call...I am trying to figure was it because I was a woman of color of was it just because they did nothing at the time?

Worst experience ever !!!!!!! Servers weren’t even trying to make our first experience like able. No flair or care. We were seated with no silverware until we asked for it after our food was served. Had to ask for refills of water because I had to wash out the horrible taste in my mouth from the salsa and chips. I ordered a mango margarita I got a lime something and the waitress knew this but still served me this drink. I sent it back thinking maybe it was mistaken but the drink was brought back looking a bit yellowish as if some orange juice was poured into the last one I just sent back. It tasted horrible sent it back and chose not to drink after all. The salsa tasted like an after taste of throw up... sour horrible. The server said that’s how it’s made...uugh!!! The chips tasted like they were reheated eww!!! My son ordered the family meal we shared and was just ok no flavor and Overpriced. Not sure if I would ever go back again. Mamacita’s is great vs. this Pappasito’s two thumbs down don’t waste your time and money not worth it at all!!! I still tipped $15 because I support restaurant service during this pandemic but I wish I didn’t have the heart sometimes because to me service should be earned not just deemed because...

What a joke, higher prices with even longer waiting periods for food 2 The Table! Close up and try again! Every time it is the same problem! Why? Happy Hour? Slow unreliable service! Don't give them the time or your money!

Went for dinner. Portions are enormous and the place is slammin busy. By the time we left the line was out of the door. Had the Laredo platter, came with beans, rice, a chicken taco, beef and a chicken enchilada, and pork tamales. We ordered a bacon guac for the table. Candied bacon - who knew - delicious. Service is friendly and quick but the portions are crazy large.

The ample parking space gives way to the faux-distressed walls provide the diners with a hint of that Alamo-like pioneering era Texas architecture in anticipation of a true "Texan" dining experience. The ample selection of beers (IPAs), well-stocked bar with its crazy Margaritas with top notch tequilas, satisfy the tastes of tourists, bankers, the medical center crowd, and the adventurer "foodie". The cuts of meats marinated in their special recipe, provide a tantalizing awakening to the palate. The steaks, seafood, and chicken are flavor and full of spice, without charring your taste buds or creating heartburn. Whatever you do, leave room for dessert. The "Cajetas" is Papasitos take of the world-known "fried ice cream" mexican dessert.

Dined here with my partner on a Weekday evening. Service was quite slow - we almost walked out but were caught by another server as we were preparing to leave. Food quality was okay but not a good value for the price paid. To their benefit, portion sizes were good.

Recently went at lunch time with some colleagues and enjoyed a delicious lunch, The food was good and the service was good as well. It is a loud restaurant so not great for business conversation depending on the time of day. There was ample parking and was easily accessible from the feeder road.

We love everything about this place. The staff is polite and attentive. The food is beyond fabulous. Margaritas so good!! Salsa is warm and very tasty. My two boys shared the combination fajitas for one. There was more than enough and ended up taking some home. The meat is seasoned perfectly, tender and moist. It's served with a garlic butter that's so good I could just drink it, kidding lol but it really is heaven. Also comes with a side of Pico and guacamole. I had the Seafood Ceviche. Yum! Yum! Yum!! I'm not much on the shrimp, didn't taste bad or anything. I just prefer the fish and scallops. I added some extra Pico to it too. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. My husband never passes up fish tacos if they are on the menu. He chose the Red Fish Tacos. They come grilled with a avocado slice, slaw and aioli sauce that was really good. House Margaritas are wonderful. Not overly sweet. Table next to us had a plate of Nachos that was massive and looked fantastic.

Have been coming here for 25 years. Good solid food and service. Best chips and salsa in town. Great fajitas but prices for Tex Mex in San Antonio.

Never had anything like it. We want to go back!! Texans are extremely friendly. We enjoyed eating here as the staff re very friendly and the food was delicious. A great thing they do in Texas is bring out corn chips with dip (on the house) as nibblies while you're waiting for your meal. When the dish is empty they'll bring out another one!! I enjoyed the enchiladas.

I-10 traffic near this restaurant is always bad, especially on Friday nights. But an early reservation helped to offset the inconvenience of the nearby traffic. We went in and announced our reservation, and we were taken immediately to our table. The one negative about this place is that it is so loud indoors. At least the high volume talking noise didn't have to compete (and make it all even worse) with music or television chatter. Everything else, however, was fantastic! Our server, although young, was a very nice and attentive young man. He made himself available yet was not in the way. His sense of timing was very good. He was respectful to us, especially towards my wife, and he seemed to enjoy his job. We ordered enchiladas, red fish tacos and then the Mother's Day Weekend Dinner-For-Two: Lobster tails, stuffed shrimp, chicken fajitas, and beef fajitas. All complete with fresh tortillas, beans, guacamole, chips and salsa. Just under $100 for all that, and with the outstanding service, we left a $22 tip. Needless to say we brought much of that food home with us and we've thoroughly enjoyed it all weekend!

My daughter's friend took us to Pappasito's Cantina, and what a great choice! The chips and salsa were very flavorful. The smoky wonderfully tender steak fajitas were awesome. Lunch was around $183 with drinks and tip for three. It was worth, the yummy Tex Mex, "Welcome to San Antonio" experience. My taste buds were delighted for sure!

I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back if ever in the area. Homemade tortilla chips were the best. Portion sizes were out of this world. Food was very tasty. The atmosphere was great!!

Food was very good, waitress was good, chip servers need to improve...we were out of chips and salsa for at least 10 minutes and they were gossiping and horse playing and not paying attention to the people in the restaurant! Manager did his job and got us taken care of!

This place is always great. The food and service is perfect. They were able to handle our big group. Best restaurant in town.

My mouth starts to water at the mear mention of a Pappas restaurant. Their food is consistently good and their service inpecable. Today I had a craving for beef fajitas. So I invited my brother and his family to join me at Pappasitos. That is about when things started to go wrong. I can look past lots of little inconveniences. Look at my past reviews, almost all are positive. But here is a laundry list of problems my family experienced this evening. Longer than promised wait, by 30 minutes. And the hostesses were not the friendliest. When we walked to our table we saw numerous empty tables at the back of the restaurant. The TOP SHELF margaritas and bloody Mary were weak and lacked taste. The wait staff at the bar was slow and rarely came back to check on us. At the table, we had a trainee. So we were patient. I ordered the combo chicken and beef fajitas. Beef lacked any flavor and were tough as shoe leather. Chicken were a little better but not an order of magnitude. Those also had little flavor. They were out of the redfish my wife wanted. The restrooms lacked paper towels and had a smell of urine. My kids did like the cheese enchiladas and the shrimp fajitas. So all was not lost. The trainee probably needed some more training before they set her loose. What a disappointment this trip was. Been here many times and usually walk away happy, but not this time. The Pappas Brothers have let this place go, or they had a bad bad night.

This place has some unique food. I have eaten Tex Mex/Mexican food at many places. I have even made it. This place has some interesting combinations such as Ceviche, grilled meats, Botanas, and non-meat based food. The restaurant can get loud, but that is because it is usually full. It is a popular place for locals. It can take a while to get your food, but they have some thin and tasty chips with excellent salsa. Plus they make the tortillas right there in from of everyone. They have an interesting cilantro lime rice made out of basmati rice. The fajita combinations are always a good bet. Do not be afraid of the price, but the food is worth it and large. There is also a side butter that is served with the fajitas. It is wonderful. If you just want appetizers then this is a place to go. Please be aware that it might be a wait during peak times because of the popularity.

I grew up in San Antonio LOVING Pappasitos when it first opened. Flying down for a visit, it was the first place we stopped after leaving the airport. I was sooo excited! Unfortunately, our meal was a letdown. Our waiter was not very capable—many customers at his tables were frustrated. It took a long time to be noticed, to get chips and salsa, and to get our drinks (1 margarita each for my husband and myself). We ordered beef fajitas and 2 margaritas. Our bill, for 2 people, was $109.00. I’m willing to pay the money since we’ve flown in from Wisconsin, but the portions weren’t amazing, the meat didn’t have the flavor it used to have, and the rice had no flavor. I guess we will have to find some new places to visit. Normally, I’m not a complainer—really.

I had never eaten at Pappasito's but I ate here on New Year's Day with my wife and her son and had a phenomenal meal!!!!!! They had a seafood special going so we shared their beef, chicken, shrimp and lobster fajitas.. WOW!!!! The meat was very tender and seasoned perfectly. I wish I had a picture to share. Exceptional service...we took food home...and very reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed!!!!

The title of my review says it all: Good but crowded, noisy, and expensive. So go for a weekday lunch and order off the lunch menu. It is cheaper, less noisy and crowded. The food is consistent. I really like it for a few times then get tired of it, then crave it and go back. The service is top-notch which is what you are paying for. The quality of the ingredients is also good. Everything is clean. I love one of the combo plates, with enchiladas and a taco. They make the tortillas right there.

Restaurant was very crowded ... service was sketchy and rushed ... we were seated next to the service area, so that didn't help ... food was ok, but overpriced for Tex-Mex,in my opinion ...

This place is known for good food and super-sized margaritas. Five us were happy with the size of the meat/shrimp portions as the base for the fajitas. We started with some salsa, chips and apps. We learned to go light on the apps as the fajita portions were large and satisfying. If you don't like fajitas there are plenty of other options.

Packed, but obvious why, they serve warm chips with salsa, the tortillas are hand made on site, we had table side quac and wow was it tasty, large portions, great cocktails and the server was very attentive and sent us home with some more chips and salsa!!

Came here for dinner after a workshop with colleagues. The fajita's were perfect to share and very tasty. Very friendly staff who explained what everything was.

The servers were all having a bad day and the kitchen was backed up but for a late afternoon. However, the restaurant was not too busy. The manager came to speak with us and quite frankly he had no idea what was going on. The servers were disorganized. My empty tea glass went unfilled for more than 15 minutes. A different server finally brought out my wife's entrée and were surprised when I asked about mine. My wife was halfway through eating before a another different server brought my quesadillas.

They serve big portions of average Texmex food at this place. I missed the nice Mexican spices. Also the service was nothing special. The place is very noisy. In my opinion there are better Mexican restaurants in town.

The food was awesome! Definitely recommend the Chipotle Shrimp. The ceviche was really good also. Our waiter was great too!

the place is expensive since you only get beans and tortillas , we order nachos and one beer two margaritas and the check was 45, seems expensive

I have lived in SA for over 40 years and think I know good Mexican food. After reading the reviews on TA, I decided we would go try the fagitas. First of all, service was slow but we got our water and chips and salsa pretty quickly. We both ordered the fagitas taco dinner. I don't know who taught them how to make a fagitas taco, but it came with just pico, no cheese or sour cream. The meat was tough and tasteless. The tortilla that was serve with it came apart after the first bite. The beans were over cooked, but flavorful. There are a lot better Mexican restaurants in San Antonio. We will not go back.

Lunch with my family. Pappasito's is consistently good Tex-Mex food. We have been going here for years. It is a little bit pricier than some, but you know you will always get a great meal, so the quality is certainly worth it. My favorite is the table side guacamole and the beef fajitas. Very well seasoned!

This place is definitely for large groups and family style eating. The prices are exceptionally high and the meals serve more than one person. That's good for a family dinner but doesn't work as well for a business dinner when people are less likely to share a meal. The cheapest individual meal I could get were shrimp fajitas for $24. While the fajitas were very good it was a waste of food as I was going back to a hotel Room and could not save it. It would be nice if they would have smaller individual portions. The chips and salsa were very good. The service was good. The margaritas were very good.

My husband and I had Pappasitos in San Antonio today for lunch. It was Delicious!! His all time favorite is the mixed grill, and it's a ton of grilled steak, shrimp and chicken. I had their lunch special, and you truly can't go wrong with cheese enchiladas. We always have enough to take home for at least one more meal. Want Tex-Mex? Go to Pappasitos!!!

I have been a customer for years but no more. Pappasito's at this location is lousy we ended up leaving before they called us to sit down. First you walk in and no one greets you rather they looked at us as a burden here comes one more gringo. Then they had no table available because they didn't have enough stuff?? seriously?? then we looked at their dirty menus and prices and decided it's time we eat elsewhere from now own. That's in a nut shell my experience this week at this SA location shameful.

In town for the livestock show and tired of the show food. It was worth the drive across town and 15 minute wait to have some awesome fajitas. Our waiter was a little overwhelmed but the team work by the rest of the staff kept us taken care of. The food was great as expected. We have been eating at Pappasitos for years and we will continue to, because they provide a consistent experience.

The fajitas, without a doubt, are some of the best around. Quality beef, chicken and shrimp, served with fresh tortillas and melted butter as well. There is always a big crowd during dinners on the weekends, so service gets slow at times, but the food makes up for it. As always, the chips and guacamole are fresh. The mixed drinks are good, as we have tried a few of their margaritas. It is definitely a little more expensive than most Mexican restaurants around.

We went to Papasittos in San Antonio,Tx today. Jair, our servers always gives us such good service! Always has as smile on his face and he is so kind, There was a problem with our Tortilla soups, they were cold. Maria, the supervisor in training, took care of us and ensured they were hot the next time around. She was very apologetic. She is going to make a great supervisor,,

Unbelievable experience. My wife and son, a Vegan, had a wonderful dinner out. It was crowded but we quickly sat at the bar and were cared for by the attentive kind and knowledgeable Jorge M. The grilled vegetable plate black beans and rice was a wonderful vegan meal. My wife and I shared grilled lobster and beef fajitas. Amazing!!! Highly recommend!

That's right. I mean it. There is no better tex mex food around. No better in Texas, no better in the USA, and no better in the world. If you want great and flavorful food, Pappacito's Cantina stands alone. Sure, it's a chain, and I've been to one in Houston (~1994), Dallas (~1998), and now San Antonio (Jan 2019). It's everything I remember. I ordered the fajita platter (steak and chicken) and both are cooked perfectly, juicy, and seasoned - have them with the corn tortillas and all the trimmings. Dining alone was tough, becuase the smallest size of this was approx $35. That said, I ate it all! Their homemade chips and salsa is a must have too, along with a beer, while you watch sports on the TVs and watch people. There are so many people dining but the place is huge, so it's not a problem. There are dozens of waitstaff, and the food came so quickly I barely had time to eat my chips/salsa. TEN stars to the waitress team. What a great menu, ambiance, and vibrant environment. I purchased a couple logo mugs to bring home just to remember one of the best restaurants on the planet.

Our favorite go to Tex Mex food for years. This place is a classic for the feel and tastes of Texas. Amazing food, salsa, and drinks. Great service. Outstanding fajitas, including butterflied shrimp, and perfect steak.

We hadn't gone there in a while and happened to go on 1/2 price fajita night. The service was horrible. They used to include a grilled Jalapeno now it's $2.00 extra. Table next to us ordered same thing they got cheese and Sour cream we didn't. I asked for it and they brought it about 15 min. later. The charro beans were severely undercooked and so was the rice. I didn't ask for a replacement, as it took us 20 min. just to get the corn tortillas we asked for when we ordered. As a consolation, the waiter didn't charge us for our flat sodas. Worst experience I have ever had there in my life I will not be going back there again. If you want better food (Tex-Mex) go to Los Barrios the have 3 locations in San Antonio and locally owned.

We waited about 35 minutes to get in! Once we were seated the chips/salsa were poured over us for at least 1 1/2 hours! Try eating chips with salsa/queso for over an hour, not freaking at all! Ok, the fajita platter came out like two hours later and it was pretty good! However, what’s wrong with this situation? You must read between my lines... I pay over 100.00 bucks and you need to get it out at an reasonable time! What’s my time worth?

First off, my server "Mackenzie" was among the very best I've had in years, prompt, courteous, efficient. I went with the theory if this Mexican fare restaurant can do the traditional things right, I'll return. Thus the order of Tortilla Soup which was in fact very good. I'm not a bit fan of the soft cheese addition, but overall, very good. In fact one could order a small bowl, an appetizer & that would be more than enough for lunch. The entrée of Chipotle Shrimp was beautiful, ten shrimp taking up 1/4 of the plate, the rest a nice mix of Spanish rice. The bill came to $31 before the tip for the soup, entrée & unsweet tea. On the upside, Pappasito;s Cantina would be a GREAT happy hour spot, a spot to gather friends.

Were looking for a good Tex Mex place to eat and had heard of this place before. We were able to get a table rather quickly as were surprised as to how busy it was for a Sunday evening. I can pretty much eat anything but my girlfriend has allergy to onions so her choices were limited. After visiting with the manager we were able to agree upon a meal for her however when it arrived low and behold it came with onions and we were charged an additional fee for what we were told they would substitute without onions for. My meal was good but we were disappointed in the fact her meal was not what we were told we would get.

On Fridays, my husband and I like to get some Tex-Mex and margaritas. We've been to several other restaurants but were told to try Pappasito's. We were definitely pleased with the drinks, food, and service. We've gone 3 Fridays in a row now and have enjoyed it every time. The fajitas are AMAZING! Shrimp tacos are also delicious, and their salsa is really good as well. We've had regular, frozen, and prickly pear margaritas and they are also fantastic. The service is wonderful. We had Brent one time and Johnny the other two and they were on top of everything and took great care of us. While we may pay a little more here, it's totally worth it for the service and food. We will continue coming here as often as we can!

A previous mainstay of my San Antonio visits...no more. Un-enthused wait staff, serving fajitas, but no tortillas until all others were served, no clue what the dipping sauces were or what they consisted of, constant upcharge for menu items. The waitstaff rightly informed me the small version of fajitas was not available after 4 PM, but the medium was available for a "slight upcharge." Small was $16.95, Medium was $23.95. But they charged me $29.95. In fairness this item is listed elsewhere on the menu for $29.95, but the staff did not explain this. We ordered Ginger-ale, no mention of the "slight upcharge," and how each order was it's own bottle. When we asked about the "one chip dipping sauce as to what it was the staff replied "We call it green sauce, no idea what is in it." I looked forward to this place to share with my daughter as they make the tortillas on site. Previously they had a big old fashioned looking contraption, now it is an industrial modern looking item not matching the decor. They were still delicious...but it lost its charm.

We were staying at the Springhill Suites near the Riverwalk and the Riverwalk was CRAZY with people. We went to eat dinner at Bill Millers (not awesome to me) and purposed to find a Mexican restaurant OFF the river that was still well rated. Then my husband reminded me of Pappasitos! We lived in San Antonio about 20 years ago and used to eat there regularly. We went for a late lunch because we were going to a football game that evening and opted for a bigger lunch. Short wait, then we were seated. Our waiter, Ryan, was quite possibly the best waiter we have ever had. Friendly/conversational and informative, he got our chips (very light, warm and crispy), salsa )warm…and maybe a base of peppers vs. tomatoes…mildly spicy if at all), and drinks out right away. He took our chips and salsa bowls and refreshed before we were down to crumbs. Kept drinks coming, flour tortillas were there when we needed them. Cleared our table but did not rush us out. Five stars just for him. Our daughter got the nachos which were not what we expected but still very good. Larger single chips around the perimeter heavy with melted on cheese and chunks of fajita meat (she did not want the beans) Extras of guacamole and sour cream in a dish in the center. This is not a giant pile of chips. Maybe 12-15? But heavy with cheese and meat. My husband and I got the lunch special (on the back of the menu…I think Monday-Thursday) of fajitas. We got the medium chicken and beef order and shared it. There is a little bowl of magic on the sizzling plate that we drizzled over the meat. Maybe garlic butter? Forgot to ask. Anyway, the tortillas were fluffy and amazing (and Ryan was right there with more when needed) and the chicken was quite good, but the beef was amazing! If I did it again I would go all-beef. Chicken was very good but the beef was really something special. I asked for a to-go cup to put my drink in, and Ryan brought a fresh cup of drink. I know other places do that as well but it was a nice ending to a really amazing meal. The atmosphere is definitely Tex Mex but not “in your face”. Just festive. We wore jeans and T-shirts at lunch and did not feel out of place but this is definitely a sit down place.

Always good. Great guacamole. Very good fajitas. Expensive. But worth the price. Food is top quality.

We went with our frends for dinner. We had a really good time. The prices are higher than most Mexican restaurants in town but the food and service were really good. The salsa had a nice flavor and kick to it. I would recommend going early as this is a popular place to eat at.

Well we have tried but wait has been crazy—-so Thur evening not too bad—-waiter was excellent! We got family meal-delish-had enough to take home for lunch! We will be back.

Terrible service. Tristan from the bar area lied to me in my face . The bartenders are undercover homewreckers who would do anything for an extra buck . Very disrespectful people. Food is good if you want to wait for it…… Not worth the money.. Taco Bell has better service. San Antonio I-10 location. Pass it up….

Boss and I went to Papasito's for a nice, casual, dinner while in San Antonio. Even though the parking lot was full, there was a bunch of folks waiting, they got us seated within 20 minutes. Service was prompt and friendly, drinks delivered quickly, and food came out much faster than expected - despite the huge crowd in the establishment. Very good Mexican food, even though it is a chain establishment - the Papa's business group knows their business! Top Shelf.

We took my son for his birthday dinner. The food was good, but it was pricey for Mexican food. All the dishes were $25 or more. My wife had the fish tacos. I had the seafood enchiladas, and my son had the beef fajitas. The food was good.

We enjoy going to Pappasit's off I-10 because of the wonderful food, over the top service, ( ask for Luis our favorite server) and professionsl Management.

We arrived, a party of seven, on a Saturday night for dinner. We didn't have a reservation and the wait was about 45 minutes. There was plenty of room for all of us to sit on the patio, so no worried (and we got cocktails, so really no worries) The smelly experience began once we were seated. I wished we would have been more aggressive in getting the waiters attention...we had two small children ...we should have had them run into the waiter to get his attention. Of course they brought the chips and we ordered queso. The chips were bottom of the barrel...broken into the smallest pieces imaginable. We couldnt get the waiters attention but the children had a fun time dumping the chips in the queso and eating it with a spoon. Now we all could have done that but the table wasnt set with enough silverware...so just scooping with our fingers and submersing our fingers in the melty cheese worked also. Several of us ordered the Mexican Style Chicken and Rice Soup, HOLY SALT BATMAN...It looked really pretty with plenty of fresh avacado BUT THE SALT. It was inedible. One couple ordered a mixed fajita platter. One person ordered the Plato Del Mar with bacon wrapped Shrimp and Steak. Shrimp were AMAZING. But Mr "I wasnt training well enough to insure everyone has silverware" never brought the tortillas. We waited almost 10 minutes AFTER the food was served before we found the waiter and five more minutes before he brought them. I had also ordered the Pappasitos Salad with lime vinigerette. I have never ordered that before, but it was great. I've dined at Pappacitos before and never have had service issues. Maybe its just this location. We were never asked how our food was. Probs wouldnt go back to that location. Pretty Shilly Experience, if ya know what I mean.

Awesome dinner! Shrimp tacos out of this world. Very busy, but service excellent and fast. Great team work!

We made reservations on the website and had a small wait due to “staff shortages”. That caused a little concern; however, it was unfounded as we ended up with a Great Server. Jacob was polite, friendly, efficient and very timely. Although juggling several tables, including one with 10 diners, he managed it all very well and with a smile. The Redfish on the Half-Shell was excellent, as was the Hatch Chile Stuffed Shrimp with Fajitas. Can’t say as much for the black beans or rice. Jacob kept our drinks full and brought whatever was requested very expeditiously. Hire more Servers with Jacob’s skills and we’ll be sure to come back more often.

While waiting for a business contact (unable to make the meeting), Jorge was the perfect host - keeping us supplied with ships and salsa. The meal price was a bit "up there" for our limited budget, but service was exceptional.

On my last review I said I would not return but my daughter requested it for her birthday dinner so we went back. Service was still mediocre and the prices are still outrageous for what you get. My wife and I ordered the taco dinner. It was ground beef with a little cheese...two tacos for $16.00! My daughter had a shrimp plate for $25 and my grandson has fajitas for $30. The boracho beans were crunchy. Never again and this time I mean it.

Ate here for dinner after a trade show with colleagues. Good food and large portions so split an entree unless you are really hungry! Had good service from the waiter and servers. Recommend the chilli rellenos combo platter, one filled with chicken and other beef. Thin and crispy tortilla chips that are served hot and restocked before the bowl goes empty and great tasting salsa that was not too spicy to blow your head off.

We just had lunch there and we enjoyed it. It’s very close to my work so it is a frequent lunch spot. I had the Monday special - it was too spicy for me, but then I am very sensitive. I wish the menu had noted it would be spicy. Anyway the architecture and grounds are pretty cool! Old-world Mexico... and it’s well done. I recommend it for the experience if nothing else.

I work overseas for months at a time and when I'm not working I'm traveling, one of the first places I head for when I do travel to the USA is this place. When you walk in it is a feast for the eyes, atmosphere is great and it's usually always busy. In the evenings after or around 6 pm there can be quite the wait so get there the earlier the better. The waitresses are pretty and the service is good. The chips and salsa are very good also. The menu is large and their is plenty to choose from, I've tried many of their plates and have not been disappointed yet, but my favorite is the Delmar Plate, Chicken, shrimp stuffed with cheese and Jelapenos and wrapped in bacon also with rice beans and tortillas way to much food for me to eat, but I give it a try every time. Has a large drink menu also, i recommend this place to everyone who loves Mexican food, but like i said go early it's well worth the wait....

We stopped in for dinner on our first night in town. The wait was pretty substantial. Once we were seated, it took a while to get chips and salsa and even longer to order. Many tables around us were served before we received our food. That seemed to be the theme for the evening. The food was decent, but not fantastic.
Tex Mex in a Box
Almost a 4, only because in San Antonio there are so many better options, BUT, for a chain restaurant, this is pretty good! We had the luncheon Chickena and Beef Fajitas and they were surprisingly good! For two the luncheon size is perfect. The beef was flavorful, if a bit "tough" but our order was sliced pretty thick. Chicken breast was moist and also sliced thicker than I have had in the past, but still good. We always like their thin tortilla chips and smoked salsa. They have a tortilla machine which makes them fresh to your table. We also had a Cadillac Margarita which was excellent. It is a bit noisy, with the large open seating area and concrete floors, but you could still manage a conversation.
