This newly opened Turkish restaurant is a hidden gem on Sansom Street is opposite the Walnut St Theatre parking lot. It has a diner atmosphere, family owned and very relaxed. The pleasantly flavorful spices used in vegetable, chicken, cheese and meat dishes provided new and interesting food experiences. Looking forward to trying other menu items soon.

Seem like nice folks, but this is NOT part of the Neo-Turkish fine dining surge or anything close to it. The mezze platter is not bad, but tiny portions, we had terrible hard-cooked calamari in rancid oil which we sent back. Just really unfocused food and lackadaisical service. Not sure why other people liked it.

This is really great hidden gem serving up fresh Turkish food in the city. The service was great and very attentive. The hummus and pita is a favorite. Lentil soup is super tasty. We will 100% be back again and again. Make sure you try dessert too! The rice pudding was delicious.

I was skeptical about parking in downtown Philadelphia, but low and behold there was a parking lot directly in front of Paprica Grill. That and the huge beautiful photos of food in the front windows started our visit off with big smiles. We were worried that the size of our group might overwhelm the small dining area, but the staff were extremely professional and experienced and seated us comfortably in a corner table in the back. We started with a big flask of hot Turkish tea for the table, while we perused the menu. Plates of warm, soft pita arrived while we placed our appetizer order. This included Babagannus (roasted eggplant mixed with coal grilled peppers, garlic and black pepper), breaded fried calamari with tarator sauce, and hummus with lamb. We also chose an entrée as appetizer. The Lamb Beyti came in a ring form cut into many pieces for easy sharing. The ground lamb, grilled on skewer, was wrapped in lavash and topped with tomato sauce and Greek yogurt. This was a highlight of the meal. Out main dishes varied around the lamb theme: Lamb Chops, Lamb Shank, Lamb Adana (minced, threaded on skewers and grilled over charcoal). All main dishes were served with coarse bulgur pilaf, grilled tomato, jalapeño pepper and a yogurt sauce. Each dish also had a salad of chopped tomatoes, cucumber, green peppers, onion, parsley, olive oil and fresh lemon. The children got golden chicken nuggets with fries. Finally two of us found the Mixed Grill irresistible. It combined shish kebab, adana lamb and chicken shish kebab, also served with bulgur pilaf and salad. To finish off the meal, we shared several Kunefa, a Turkish style sweet cheesy desert, shredded filo with ground pistachio. The Turkish coffee provided a delightful close to our visit. The prices were a bit on the high side, but we considered this a treat for the special occasion we were celebrating.

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere here. What a lovely dinner! We had the delicious lamb Adana shish kebabs and the chicken shish kebabs. So flavorful! They came with a very tasty bulgur and salad. Also ordered the hummus and Turkish bread, which we recommend. If we lived here we would be regulars!

Our third time at this gem. We have had different offerings each time and all are fantastic. Flavorful, fresh, interesting and reasonably priced. Halal meat and delicious vegetarian options.

My wife and I were in Philadelphia for some business and we stopped at the Paprica Mediterranean Grill for lunch. This is a small and "homey" restaurant. We were seated and our orders were taken. We were served some "homemade" hummus and pita bread to snack on until our entrees came out. My wife ordered the Zucchini Pancakes and I had the Chicken Swish Wrap. Both our dishes were very flavorful and delicious. The food and service was top notch. We would love to dine here again.

Me and my husband discovered this hidden gem last year when i was pregnant and since then we are hooked, go there once a week and never had a bad food! I recommend this place to everyone who is interested in Mediterranean cuisine, always fresh and flavorful and a great ambience too 👌🤤

Cool restaurant with spectacular food!!! We were impressed. I highly recommend. It exceeded our expectations.

Not a lavish menu but enough to pick and choose from. Kebab on the stick was a bit surprised when I first saw on the plate. Almost all meat were served in that fashion as I recalled. Setting is nice but the choice of music is useless to me for the restaurant.

A local owned clean and organized turkish Mediterranean resto which offers a reasonable price for a remarkable delicious and quality meals and desserts here, they are just a few blocks from independence hall. Service is excellent, the lady that served us knows the menu well. Environment and music is inclined to turkish Mediterranean vibes so you could feel you are not in philly for awhile. Accepts credit/debit card. Ample spacing between chairs. We highly recommend this resto to try. Parking is street but has open and closed on surrounding streets. See images for reference.

We had a great experience here. Delicious food, attentive and efficient server, extremely clean space. I'll be back and would definitely recommend.

The food here is amazing! The service just as amazing! They catered my mom's 99th birhtdy party last minute and delivered the food hot, delicious, and on time! Even made a special dish for my mom that was not on the menu. Great family business!

A few blocks from Jefferson Health. Wonderful and huge selection on the menu. Ate there at least 4 times over a 2 week period and still did not get through as much of the menu as I wanted. Quiet relaxing atmosphere, fast service. Awesome food with generous portions.

Went there for dinner this past Saturday. I had the red lentil soup and a salmon dish, my wife had the mixed grill. Everything was made to order and was excellent! Quite a variety of dishes on the menu and the owners indicated that they would be expanding it soon. I highly recommend that you give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I were working our way back to the train station when we passed Paprica Mediteranean Grill and decided to stop in for lunch. We were the first to arrive and our waiter made sure we found a comfortable table. It was a hot day outside! We decided to get the eggplant appetizer which came with delicious home-made bread. I don't eat bread, but just ate the eggplant itself. It was soooo good! We both had the Lamb kabobs which comes with a salad and bulgur. I cannot eat bulgur so the waiter offered me other alternatives and I settled on extra salad. The lamb kabobs were amazing! The meat was tender and they give you a generous portion. I saw another patron with an unusual drink and our server said it was their sweet tea. We tried it and loved it! This place it the real deal in turkish food. We will definitely dine here again when in Philadelphia

I can't say exactly how often we have been to this restaurant, but it is our go to place before the Walnut Theatre plays. I'd guess at least 6 times. We always start with the assortment of appetizers and have tried a variety of main dishes. We don't like foods that are spicy and everything has been seasoned not to excess. We always make a reservation and a table is always ready when we arrive. Frankly, the only criticism I have is that I cannot order a hot herbal tea. So, I actually bring my own tea bag and ask for hot water...not because I am trying to be cheap, but it is just something they don't have on the menu. So, I recommend it and I don't think it is a place that will disappoint.

Wanted to love it but much of the food was bland. Appetizers ok. 3 people cost $150. Service was great but we waited a long time for food. The worst part is we were overweight and couldn’t sit in their chairs. It was not comfortable dining. We are tall and large so seating should accommodate us too.

amazing food and staff!! Love this place! Various turkish meals, freshly baked bread, tea...everything was delecious!

Looking for a place to go.. try this out.. will not disappoint.. a great family restaurant - where the food was beyond compare.. the service was exceptional, and we had an authentic experience. The food quality was exceptional and was well seasoned. Highly recommend a trip down here

Amazing experience, nice flavor food. It’s a nice place to bring people for the first time to try Turkish cuisine. I would definitely come back again.

Right when you step in you feel good about this place. Nice, clean, cozy! Great menu, delicious food, great service and amazing owners. Home made bread makes them differ from many other for sure. A must try!

A friend recommended this restaurant. We both ordered the lamb dishes which were delicious. The portions were more than ample. Salad and rice was nice. We will come here again.

Kind staff and fantastic food! It was our first time there and the staff were very welcoming. Best falafel I've ever eaten in my life. Dinner kebab was tender and juicy. It was a delicious lunch, and we will be coming back.

We love this place! Warm and welcoming smiles and greetings from the owners and staff members start the experience out right. Attentive and professional service but not intrusive. Lovely BYO in the city with a visible kitchen. Wide range menu; we shared the calamari and cheese stick appetizers. Our entrees included beef and chicken shish kabobs and an amazing Mediterranean 'BBQ' with a variety of tender meats served in a beautiful copper pot with onions, delicious bulgur and sour cream on the side. The bread is delicious. Alas, we didn't have room for the incredible baklava but hopefully next time! Thank you.

I visited Paprica Grill Restaurant with my family, me, my wife and my sweet daughter. In spite of the fact that we came at a time that the Restaurant was closed to close, we were very kindly welcomed. The staff was very warm, very kind, open, and very helpful with delicacy. In addition, the environment of the Restaurant and especially the hygiene are irreproachable. The Turkish cultural touch and the accompanying music, as if they transported us to Turkey in the Bosphorus. The food was very delicious and the portions very copious, ... with a very reasonable price! We will be back! I visited Paprica Grill with my family, me, my wife and my daughter. Although we arrived at a late hour, close to the restaurant's closing time, we were very warmly welcomed. The staff was very warm, very kind, open, and very helpful with sensitivity. In addition, the restaurant environment and especially the hygiene are impeccable. The Turkish cultural touch and the accompanying music, as if transporting us to Turkey in the Bosporus. The dishes were very delicious and the portions very generous, ... with very good value for money! We will come back !

An excellent Middle Eastern BYO restaurant. There had been two previous owners, so we learned and from experience, whose food had been quite variable. The current management provides a wonderful culinary experience. The balloon bread and the baklava are most memorable.

Nice environment, excellent service with the owners many requested and attentive. Tasty food with fair price
