Underwhelming

By Josiah David C |

Great food, some good cocktails (the “Conejo Morado” was delicious!), but below average service at a mid-level price point. Ultimately, this chic “hip” spot tries way, way too hard to special and trendy. E.G., a 15$ buratta salad with whole coriander seeds and wilted cabbage I had to eat around. The cheese and beets were great, but that’s kinda hard to mess up. The burger was great, but nearly ruined by a peculiar pimento cheese spread. Cheddar and pimento? Really? The fries had the spoungey texture that only heating them up in the fryer imbibes. Then again, a lot of components of the experience here are lazy. Long ticket times, schizophrenic service and the lack of attention to detail with spices (whole coriander seeds in the buratta, the inedible, large flower on the “Passionate Feels”) leaves me feeling underwhelmed at a price point that should provide better. Give it a try, but don’t be too demanding or picky. 3/5 — JDC

Stylish Ambiance, Top-Notch Service & Amazing Pizza!

By matB |

Paradiso in Bishop Arts District is a fantastic spot! The decor and ambiance are incredibly fancy, creating a chic yet welcoming atmosphere. But beyond the beautiful setting, the service is truly professional, and the food is high quality. Every dish was well-prepared and flavorful, making for a great dining experience. A special mention goes to the pizzas—they were perfectly cooked, with a crispy crust and delicious toppings. Whether you’re looking for a stylish night out or just great food, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Must experience!

By ChiChiLaLa |

Attractive venue, staff and clientele. Food was delicious. We enjoyed a romantic sunset dinner under the twinkling lights of a large tree. The homemade hummus was flavorful and creamy and the pita bread was fresh out of the oven. The steam Dutch harvested mussels were perfect! Don't laugh, but we followed that with a vegetarian pizza, wood fired for a crunch on the outside, soft on the inside crust. Try the signature cocktails. Passionate Feels was yum!

Amazing

This was the best restaurant we had eaten in the States. Our uber driver pointed us at bishop district. So glad we came here. A realy must do for People.

So disappointing - far from restaurant Paradise

By TripsAh0y |

Took my mom here for her birthday and despite confirming 20 minutes before we arrived that they’d do something special for her birthday, they did nothing - even when I whispered to the waitress when she dropped the tab. They said they have a special birthday dessert with candles before we made the reservation. The food and service was also lousy. The lunch salads are all very small and not filling at all. The hummus came with two tiny squares of a pita bread and they charged us $2 to bring out one more super tiny order. The manager, Chad, told me he was very sorry about our experience and would make it right - but it’s been a week and he disappeared and never followed up.

As delicious as it is attractive

The outdoor garden is the prettiest we have eaten in during the COVID pandemic. Its so well decorated and attractive. There are plenty of heaters for when the temperature drops. The cocktails are well thought out and presented. The pizza is delicious! The pasta with Italian sausage is yummy. The branzino is served whole and was superb

Lovely Atmosphere, Service Needs Improvement

By mcgotes |

Although the atmosphere, both inside and outside are lovely, the food was just okay and the service really was below average. Our 4 entrees were tasty, served hot/warm however the service was mediocre and the fly 🪰 problem inside was distracting and nasty! We had to ask for more ice for the drinks, condiments and when we mentioned the insect/fly problem, received blank stares. Honestly, ruined an otherwise enjoyable outing.

Pretty restaurant in bishop arts district known more by the locals.

This restaurant has a lovely interior decor and large fun patio in a lively area of Dallas, the Bishop Arts District. The place was very pretty for Christmas the holidays. Our server was nice but not super attentive and the food was pretty good not great and not above average. We ate early and it was still very loud in there so if it's a quiet meal you are seeking this place is on the loud side acoutiscally. I would like to go back for a drink on the patio in warmer weather. Lots of photo spots throughout.

Great Morroccon Mediterranean flared cuisine

By Johnny |

Amazing atmosphere with amazing staff and cuisine. Definitely one of the better places in Town. The outside patio has a fountain with artificial grass and tables that remind me of places in Italy.

Birthday after dinner drink bombed.

By vessels4 |

The space is cute but the service and drinks are horrible. Absolutely no customer service! I will not be back and you should not visit this “new, hot bar”. I have watched person after person not being served and when you actually get served the five staff members I interacted with were rude, had better things to do and extremely slow. My beverage was so horrible no one could drink it.

Order the “Cocktail Du Jour”

Paradiso was the perfect place during cocktail hour. Our server, AM B, gave of plenty of information to make a wide choice in what beverages we would live. Thank you AM B.

Delicious Fried Artichokes

By justinel234 |

I finally got to try Paradiso earlier this week and it was great! The atmosphere was really beautiful and the food was awesome. I tried the fried artichokes, the Italian sausage pizza and the rigatoni. While everything was good, the fried artichokes were by far the star dish. I would go back just for those!

Just Lovely

Beautiful, great vibe, exceptional unique food. While wait staff was attentive, did not listen well and took leftovers without boxing them as requested. But will be back. A very nice addition to Bishop Arts.

Only OK, nothing special

By Kevin G |

My wife and I went here as we got to bishop arts district late and there weren’t a lot of places open. She had the pappardelle and gave it a 4/5 (very good) and I had the margherita pizza which I gave a 2/5. The pizza was only mediocre and I did not finish it. Matthew B was the server and he did a really good job. The restaurant was nicely appointed and it had a very friendly atmosphere

RUN!!!

By Voyager44729612143 |

I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent experience at Paradiso Dallas was beyond disappointing. The AC was broken on a day when temperatures soared over 100 degrees, making for an unbearably hot and uncomfortable dining experience. To make matters worse, the restaurant was plagued with flies everywhere. They placed a broken fly fan on our table that was not only ineffective but also a potential safety hazard. The steak frites were mediocre at best—the meat was a terrible cut and lacked flavor. Service was incredibly slow; we had to wait over 10 minutes just to get a drink or water refill. It felt like we were completely forgotten. Overall, this place was a letdown in every possible way. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Disappointed

By Shae L |

Super disappointed in the whole visit here. We drove 2 hours round trip for a girls lunch. The venue was beautiful and definitely IG worthy. The food however would have been better at IHOP. Pancakes were sub par, pizza was extremely wet and had puddles of liquid on it. The waiter never offered to take drink orders. So we had small glasses of water. He was constantly occupied with something so he never paid attention to being our waiter. When it came time to pay they did not accept cash unless exact change. To which he just kinda shrugged his shoulders. So we covered one of the ladies meals because she only had 2 $20's.

Second visit, solid service, food and drinks

By midwstgirl |

This was our second visit with Wayne in charge of the bar. If you like hand crafted cocktails, he is your guy. Decently priced wines by the bottle as well. Fried artichokes with AMAZING house made ricotta with herbs---YUM! Good pizzas. We want to try the burger and pasta sometime. Also a gigantic inner patio, which you don't expect in this compact Bishop Arts area. You see a mix of people----business types, visitors, locals. The staff here is awesome.

Poor attitude management

By Lee A |

Today my wife and I drove from DFW airport just to have a late lunch at this restaurant. We arrived just before 2:45 p.m. We were told that all they would serve us was pizza or humus because they did not serve after 2:45. When we pointed out to them that it was not 2:45 yet, they refused to serve us anything but pizza. or humus Thus we ordered pizza, which very average. A little after 3 p.m. a young couple arrived and I noticed they were served a very nice meal. When I asked why they were able to order ,I was told that they were "corporate". When I spoke to them about the poor service I received they could have cared less. At no time did anyone in management apologize for this poor service. THIS RESTRAUNT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER.

Inconsistent but will return

By jpatter1 |

Lovely courtyard. Good service. Excellent branzino. Best lentils EVER. Great dessert (chocolate bounet). Problem: ordered steak medium rare plus; arrived rare. Sent it back. Cooked it up but was too tough to eat and the fries were cold. Citrus salad was tasteless. Needs a squeeze of lemon or some flavor.

A little piece of Miami in Dallas!

By mrs_un0 |

Bishop Arts has grown significantly since my last trip to Dallas and Paradiso is a welcomed addition. What a unique venue offering a few different options from their beautiful courtyard, to their holiday extravaganza, to the two restaurants (Paradiso & Bar Eden). Bar Eden was amazing and more so bc of their acoustic singer Taylor! I was blown away by her voice. What a great venue. I will definitely return on my next Dallas trip!

We loved the Whole Paradiso Experience

By TERCEFALEX |

We loved the whole Paradiso experience and can’t wait to return in warmer weather to enjoy its outside dining. The atmosphere is charged. The food was incredible - so many choices. We had the oysters to start, possibly the best I’ve had, along with the fried artichokes and marinated olives and almonds. We all tried the handmade pastas - spaghetti, rigatoni and linguine. All prepared beautifully. The wine list is diverse, even carrying some good Greek wines. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable. He was friendly and professional and helped make our dining experience so wonderful.

Laid back atmosphere!

By Almpt3 |

My husband and I went here for drinks. The atmosphere was really laid back and the music was great. The drinks are really good as well. The Bishop drink was a winner.

Nice nice place.

By TOSCANE |

We were at this restaurant on a Sunday in June this year with our friends who live in Dallas. The place is really great. Very nice decoration, a very bright place and a terrace for those who wish to eat outside. Whether having a drink around the bar or eating , this place is really nice. We were all delighted with the choice of our dish. The portions are generous even all over the USA. Fresh and well prepared products. Frankly it was a great time. The service was very cordial.

Love our little neighborhood bar!

By NDD |

Really great drinks and the BEST bartenders and waitresses! Love to walk over here for an after work cocktail and charcuterie—they make the crackers next door at their sister restaurant and they are actually addicting. Love both the inventive cocktail menu AND the classics—they always do a great martini and it’s so good drinking it in those velvet chairs. When the weather is good they open all the glass doors to the garden and it feels like you’re in a total different city.

Poor service. Steak frites was too tough to eat. Waiter and manager were not helpful. They sat us outside when hot

By Viki S |

Poor service from both manager and waiter. Steak frites was too tough to eat. It was very hot and they could not get the fans on us and would not seat us inside. There were many open tables inside so could have been a racial thing

Fantastic atmosphere and food with great service

By suzireinhardt |

Such a unique place, with an inviting bar and hip space. Lots of plants indoors, fire columns and lights in the trees and a large fountain outside. I'd recommend a reservation. Romantic and chic spot. Not overly fancy. Food was amazing, we had wood fired pizza and steak frites. The mocktail was delicious and service was attentive. The desserts looked great too. Prices were not too high considering the quality. Definitely worth a trip for a special dinner. Looks magical at night, average by day. Funky interior with comfortable seating.

We had a private party here for a family funeral

By MNice |

My nephew rented this venue for a reception after attending a family funeral. We.were so pleased with the beauty of this restaurant and patio garden upon our arrival. The down-to-earth staff greeted our party warmly. We had about 50-60 guests. The food was just the right mix; something for all the various eating types in a large group with no complaints. The staff was attentive the entire time we were there and really handled the details well. When I say details, here’s an example; they have a single large ice cube for your drink or the regular small ones. The patio was beautiful on this 60 degree November day (we’re from Minnesota!) with plants and sunshine. There is a lot of space and the tables are far enough apart for privacy and social distancing. The staff, the venue and the day made for a truly elegant and beautiful experience.

Love this place...second time

By Lisa M |

My husband enjoyed the oysters while I had those ever-so-lightly fried artichokes....a can't miss. The meatballs with rigatoni was fabulous. Kylie took great care of us on that nice courtyard, we'll be back!!!

Nice Service, Terrible Food

By NolaLove |

Thought this would be a great Saturday brunch place with a friend. Service was great, the food was terrible. I had the Amartriciana - chitarra spaghetti with guanciale and I could not eat it. It was dry, served in an oddly small bowl, and completely overwhelmed with oregano. My friend had the Crab Mafaldane and the lemon flavor was so artificial that it stayed with me all day after a single bite. Trying for success for environment and location will only last for so long if you don’t a real chef and change the menu. What a shame.

Lovely patio setting

By Jen B |

Enjoying our meal on the patio. Music from the street makes for a delightful setting. Salad and pizza 5*. Pizza (roasted potato) with thin slices of potato - highly recommend. Salad with pomegranate seeds perfectly dressed. Nice find in lively Bishop Arts District.

Disappointed

By Ava B |

The spaghetti was extremely salty. The pear and pork pizza was average. But the worst was our waitstaff we were totally ignored and our beverages ran out twice and we asked for butter and our waitress never brought it. We were disappointed.

so much potential

By Jeff P |

Really bad experience. Lovely patio and restaurant. I asked our server to let us sip our cocktail for a while before ordering. She asked us to order, and she would hold it until we were ready. But it took about 30 minutes to get a cocktail. Food came out in ten. Mussels were good, but grilled bread seemed to be yesterday's. No server. we ate the mussels without the bread. Manager asked if we were ok. Still no cocktails and the bread was cold. He apologized and promised hot grilled toast. Cocktails finally came, but were wrong. Server came. We told her about the bread. Said she'd get it. Manager returned. No bread. Comped the meal, but ruined our evening. This place could be great...

Wonderful oysters and patio scene

By DallasEGL |

Visited last weekend, sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a cocktail, oysters and pizza. It was delightful, the staff was attentive and the people watching was perfect. Best oysters I’ve had outside of dining in Maine!

Open air but open to flies, too

By Tsaxman74 |

The food was good, service indifferent and the flies were awful. We were there for lunch with a local couple who like it a lot, but we were not impressed. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, and the neighborhood is charming.

Staff Goes Above and Beyond

By Jolie V |

A high-class atmosphere with top-notch decorating. Food was reasonably priced (pleasant surprise) and delicious. Server recommended the white fish dip appetizer, which was wonderful. We had two pizzas and two specialty cocktails. Every staff member we encountered was happy to be there, and pleasant to interact with. The music was too loud - made it hard for conversation, but a small price to pay. Would return!
