Just called to try to make a reservation for a large group, but they do not accept reservations. This should not be listed as "Good for Groups".

Good but not anything over the top to write home about. Also felt like the portion was a touch small for the price. Parking can be tough (there’s a small lot but it was pretty much full the entire time we were there and the restaurant wasn’t even half full).

Chicken Marsala most disappointing. Sauce was beige instead of the nice rich dark brown that I grew up on. Appetizer was ok but the bread was partially burnt. Service was just ok. I think our waiter thought we were bums because we were dressed very casually. We took Amtrak from Eugene to Portland for the day. A good chicken Marsala, well, you should be able to taste the Marsala!!! Dessert was good though. Would not go out of my wY for this place.

Their food generally is good with reasonable size portions. I use a "very good" rating only because this restaurant does not fall into the "average" category but would be classified as good. What we have found, however, with Pastini that the meals can be variable. On several occasions, I had had brief discussions with both the store manager and regional manager when I have felt things really did not meet acceptable standards. This review is not just based on one dinner, but dozens that we have had over the years.

Cute little restaurant. Probably one of the best Italian meals I have had in a long time. I’m gluten free and their gluten free pasta was excellent. My friends pasta was also excellent and their lasagne was awesome. Tiramisu was one of the best. Got to go and try it all.

My wife and i were in the mood for a Macaroni Grill type meal, but there are none in Portland. We found this gem and came downtown. The pasta was really fresh. We also loved the garlic bread. Incredibly priced for a city restaurant.

We popped in here on our first night in Portland. It is a classic Italian restaurant that does pasta but not pizza. We share a bruschetta starter. My wife had an chicken and artichoke salad as a main and I went for a pasta dish, the fettuccini with marsala chicken, which was very good. We shared a dessert of almond biscotti and vanilla ice cream with a caramel sauce. We enjoyed the meal and the service was friendly.

This place is an absolute treasure. Great food and reasonable serving size. I had the five cheese lasagna and it was one of the best I’ve ever had - lots of beef and just the right amount of cheese and noodles. The staff was very busy but still was there for us. The waitress checked back with us several times to be sure we had what we needed.

We ate here while visiting Portland. I had the chicken with artichokes and pesto cream sauce. The sauce was so good that I asked for a bowl to dip my bread in. My husband had the chicken Marsala but he thought the sauce was a little thin, and I agreed. A good wine list, quick service, and steady traffic. I would definitely eat here again!

Beautiful restaurant in a fantastic location close to parking and the Concert Hall. Prices were very reasonable, our pasta was delicious, and the wine recommendation paired perfectly. We especially enjoyed the Caprese salad as a shared appetizer. The staff were very friendly and the meal arrived promptly. When we return to Portland, we will visit again.

Ate here while visiting family. We were able to get a table quickly without making a reservation. Food was fresh and no one disliked their order. It was crowded when we were there but we never felt rushed to eat and the waiter was outstanding. He displayed the correct balance of attentiveness and we all really appreciated that trait. Definitely the spot to go if you are craving Italian food in Portland. Prices were fair and I really like the side option of various olives to sample.

Great service, interesting menu, generous portions. Wine by the glass very good, and fairly priced. Excellent pasta dishes. We ate here twice and consistently good.

Pretty good people and food, but the only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5, is because the service is just a bit slow.

We stopped by Pastini Pataria towards the end of the night to enjoy some pasta and cocktails. We were seated immediately and our food came out really quick! I enjoyed one of my all time favorites, Pesto Pasta while my wife enjoyed a delicious Butternut Squash Ravioli. For dessert we enjoyed an amazing gelato sundae that definitely made the night! Pastini is a great place to get some good pasta and even better dessert!

Yummy food at a reasonable price in downtown Portland. The service was excellent. I ate the butternut squash Gorgonzola ravioli and it hit the spot. Great selection of wines. Highly recommend this place!!

Quick pasta restaurant, garlic bread was cold. Lunch sized pasta was very small. Mista salad was huge with lots of mescali. Fast service.

Came here for lunch. Had the carbonara and Gorgonzola linguine. Everything was just ok. The noodles were fresh, but the sauces were a little watery? The Gorgonzola was great but strong. The Caesar salads were good, but it would have been better if the salads were served before the meal. I dunno…my girlfriend and I thought things were good, but certainly would not go back. We’d rather try a new place over coming back. We could tell any other dishes would be the same…average. The sangria was the bombdiggity though!

It was too hot to cook, so we let Pastini do the cooking, and took advantage of their special offer of or you. So we took advantage of their offer of 20% off our dinner. Pastini makes it easy and affordable to skip the cooking and still have a delicious dinner.

Took a break from walking downtown and sat down for a nice lunch. Ordered from the special $9 menu - lots of choices. Found the sauce for the ravioli to be over seasoned with garlic. Service was efficient, friendly and did not rush us when lingering after we the.

Really great restaurant! My daughter had spaghetti marinara, and the blood orange rosemary soda which she loved! I ordered the gluten free pasta with chicken and Aglio e olio sauce. My gluten free pasta dish was the best I have had, ever! The staff is excellent! I had originally ordered a meatball with my pasta, but the server came back and told me that they add regular breadcrumbs to their meatball mixture, allowing me to switch to chicken. We loved everything about our experience at Pastini. Would highly recommend!

I had a free entry coupon, so I decided to try this place again, my prior experience was at best mediocre. WHAT A DIFFERENCE.' The waitress said all my choices were good, so I decided on the Mac&Cheese, and now I have a place to get that dish since Jake's Grill stopped offering it. A bit more liquid than I like, but great sharp taste,(I did not get bread crumbs). The garlic bread was perfect too. They made me fresh coffee and gave me a refill in a large cup. Everyone seemed friendly and happy.

This is the second time I have ate here and for the second time in a row, it was the best pasta I think I have ever had. The flavor of food and the tenderness of the pasta is amazing. I will be going back to eat here every time I am in Portland.

I'm so glad we found this restaurant! Having settled in at our hotel, we started chatting about dinner. There were a ton of options literally within a block or two of our hotel but we decided to brave the cold and wind to walk a bit farther for Pastini. It was a great choice. Immediately upon entering, we were enveloped in a welcoming hug of warm air and garlic. There was another couple in front of us, and the young man working the host stand acknowledged us and told us he'd be with us in a minute. He came back a few times to update us on the table he was clearing for us, and apologizing for the wait. In reality, we were only standing there maybe three or four minutes, but I did appreciate his friendliness and kept telling him apologies weren't necessary. I knew immediately I was going to order the Linguini Pesto Pollo ($16.75) and a beer to warm me from the inside out. My husband ordered the Spaghetti Siciliano ($16.75) and added a meatball. He also ordered the inside-warming beer. The restaurant was busy, so it took a bit of time for our food to get to us, but we were okay with that. We were in a warm restaurant that smelled of lovely garlic and cooking, our waiter (Michael B) was friendly and helpful, and we were sipping some delightful beers. We were in no rush (though the restaurant was close to closing, the staff never made it feel like they were pushing us out, which we definitely appreciated.) The food was so worth the wait! Not only were the servings massive, the pastas were freshly cooked and the sauces bursting with flavor. The plates were served with two small pieces of bread, which was a bummer, but I really did *not* need more bread for my face at that point. Really. The pesto pasta was so delicious. The sauce was a bit nutty, which was enhanced by the freshly grated parmesan loaded on top. I loved the slight tangy bite that the artichoke hearts provided, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. I didn't notice the red peppers so much, but that's okay. My husband was making yummy noises over his plate of pasta, which came with Kalamata olives, a mix of fresh and sundried tomatoes, capers and feta cheese. We did share a chuckle over the meatball (it was much smaller than expected), but he said even that had really good flavor. Michael was attentive, offering beer refills when we got low, and answering questions about the dessert menu when we expressed curiosity (we ended up passing on a shared dessert, being fully full of the pasta, bread and beers). Definitely would recommend this restaurant! We're looking forward to dining here again on our next trip to Portland.

Although our hotel was closer to the location in Lloyd Center, we could get a table here sooner (at 8:30 on a Friday night). Sure enough, we were seated right away. The Parmesan bread made a nice appetizer while my wife enjoyed her Caesar salad. Short wine list with some unique and good selections. I loved my papparedelle bolognese, with that lovely flavor of tender pork in the sauce. My wife had pesto, substituting shrimp for the chicken, which she greatly enjoyed. I wished we had room for dessert because several sounded great. Service was attentive without being overbearing and prices were pretty reasonable.

The food was well prepared. If you like veggies, they are well prepared. service was good. Room temp was good, not too cold because of air conditioner.

Keep in mind, that I rate this restaurant based on a mid-priced Trattoria not a five-star Italian extravaganza , which it is not . There were a lot of things that could have been done better but, it is what it is The waitress suggested the manicotti yet 15 minutes later she returned saying the kitchen said there was no more manicotti. This was at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. If this isn't the prime time to have manicotti I don't know what it is. The second suggestion was the carbonara which I asked for finished with some whole cream. Instead I received a gargantuan portion of pasta cooked exactly like it's supposed to be however, it fell short in the flavor Department. Who is the standard run of the mill carbonara with egg yolks and parm but, they use bacon instead of pancetta. This, in and of itself, it's not a problem with me as they each have different flavor profiles and can make a fantastic carbonara. The problem was that the bacon was more of a garnish or an afterthought then an integral part of the sauce. It led none of its reach deep flavor into the dish at all leaving at Bland and uninteresting. The single meatball I tried was absolutely wonderful. Light yet not soggy and not overly spiced. I ordered it with a side of marinara that was a bit twangy for my taste but perfectly edible. This meatball was a highlight of the visit. I thought it a bit expensive for just noodles and sauce but, that's kind of the trend these days . All in all, passed any offers a solid choice for lunch time pasta but, don't expect any award winners here. I will return in a pinch.

The ambience was very nice but a small wine list. The food came out fairly quickly for a nice restaurant. This is a chain restaurant around the Portland area, but the food was tasty.

Great choices available. When you walk into the restaurant the bouquet overwhelms you. Excellent smell for an excellent restaurant. Great selection of pastas available. They don't overload you with pasta and the pasta is excellent!

Went to this place TWICE during my 5 day stay for a conference in Portland. Food was amazing, service was great. Delicious!

Being near the art museum and lots of activity, I can see how this place might fill up and be noisy. But we went for a slightly later lunch on a Sunday, and it was nearly empty. We had a delicious meal (my husband had the lamb ragu, and I had a pumpkin or squash ravioli). Our service was excellent and the food very tasty (not mind-blowing, but Italian typically offers more comfort than experiment). Would visit this place again when in the area.

We were staying nearby and dined here on a Sunday evening - the pasta dishes we had were tasty and filling and the meal was very enjoyable. Good service and we liked the wine, too. I would certainly go back there.

Fourth or fifth meal at Pastini’s. All were exceptional. Pasta was cooked well, meatballs were tasty and sauces were perfect. Gluten free options available. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Will return every time I visit Portland.

I ordered take out and by the time it took me to order the food and walk across the street from my hotel, the food was done and ready and for me! It was delicious pasta and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming!

We stopped here on the way to the theater. The exterior was inviting. The interior kind of hip Italian. We were in! But the food was a little salty, especially the chicken Marsala, which was also dry. And the side of garlic bread could have been a little larger. Spicy spaghetti was good.

Great option for downtown diners looking for Italian food in a clean setting with moderate prices. All pasta dishes (except for baked dishes) have a gluten-free option. Dishes are typical pasta dishes with a few select sauces such as marinara and pesto. Nothing unique or fancy. But very tasty nonetheless.

Stopped in for lunch, had lasagna, butternut squash ravioli and garlic bread. All in all good. Service was really friendly. Nice place to stop after walking around the city.

Everything we tried here was fabulous, but the mac and cheese with bacon was the crowd favorite. Quick service, pleasant staff. We were too full to try dessert but they looked good.

So pasta is pasta is pasta and it's somewhat difficult to mess up pasta...but this place really does it right! I stopped in during the afternoon and the service was quick and friendly. The portion size was decent and the taste was absolutely amazing. I'd strongly recommend it for a nice place for a bite!

We went with another couple and had a good dinner. The entree is entirely alone-no salad, veggies, bread or anything extra. That was a bit disappointing. The main dishes were all good though.

Great selection of food. ..something for everyone. Very reasonable prices and best service ever! Great drinks, amazing food, and it all came super fast.

This is my second trip to a Pastini Restaurant. Based on the great food on my first trip at a different location my daughter and I decided to try the downtown one. The decor is warm and inviting. We were immediately greeted and led to a table. I have had their salads before but it was a chilly night and I wanted something warm. I ordered the Baked Manicotti with was filled beef, ricotta and spinach, baked with alfredo sauce and marinara. Good choice. Lots of ricotta cheese in a mild white sauce. Yummy. The best choice was a suggestion by our sever, the Chocolate Tartufo dessert. Warm, triple chocolate cake with whipped cream. He also persuaded us (it didn't take much persuasion) to pair it with the vanilla bean gelato. Good call. It was rich enough for us to split it. Portion size was perfect and prices are great.

It's always difficult to rate a restaurant after only one visit and Pasting is worth a second trip. We were wandering around downtown and stopped in for lunch which, overall, was pretty good although not especially distinguished. I had spaghetti with meat sauce which I enjoyed but, it's a pretty basic dish. The service was fine and the portions were adequate. Definitely worth a second trip.

Was surprised to be able to be seated right away. It was fairly close to closing time which I think is a bit earlier than other downtown restaurants, and there weren't many people there. Anyway, service was super; very friendly server was able to make suggestions that worked out well for us. Got some gnocci with tomato sauce and chunks of sausage. Gnocci were perfect little pillows, as light and tender as they should be. Sausage had great flavor, but should have been rendered more- ended up putting a piece of bread under my bowl to set it on edge and drain a pretty large puddle of grease out of the food! But despite that it was still absolutely delicious, and I realize most people would have used the bread a different way! A vegetarian pasta had plenty of lightly cooked veggies in it with just the right amount of olive oil. Also had the B E S T beer of our entire trip. In a region where most places seem to think IPA is the only type of beer worth serving, this place served an amazing amber from Oakshire Brewery in Eugene. Awesome!

This busy Italian restaurant was located in front of the Paramount hotel I stayed. They have a variety of pasta and wine selection at a reasonable price. My family really liked their foods. The restaurant was nice and comfortable. No reservation is taken so we should wait.

I was right on the edge of hangry when we found Pastini. 8.50 lunch special was fantastic and the server was super nice while also knowing to just give me my pasta pronto. Great service and very fast.

Like most travelers, I like to eat at Italian/pasta places when I'm on vacation. While spending some time in downtown Portland recently, we came across this location and decided to give it a try. The reviews were good, the place looked nice, and the people seemed to be enjoying the food. First, the service was fantastic. The young lady that greeted us was extremely talkative and very engaging. The waiter quickly came over, took our drink order, and hustled off to get them. The drinks were returned quickly and were well made. The waiter had many suggestions, several off them were items we ended up ordering. The food was returned quickly, almost too quickly, but was incredibly good. It wasn't the cheapest place that we ate at, but any restaurant in a large metropolitan area tends to be slightly over-priced, but it was a good experience over all. Next time I find myself in downtown Portland, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here.

It was Thursday night and we had tickets to The LIon King and limited time. We asked our server if we could make it in time and she assured us she could make it happen. She totally delivered, stellar service, fast but excellent food, and we had our bill delivered to the table within minutes of our food. I had the Cannelloni Frutti De Mare at the server's recommendation and it was excellent. (I was afraid it might be too fishy, but found it to be perfectly balanced and creamy with little chunks of shrimp and scallops and fish and just enough tomato sauce to keep it from being too rich.) The portion was just right for the richness of the dish, and I left totally satisfied. My daughter had spaghetti and meatballs and enjoyed it too. The Sangria was tasty but a little more alcohol than I was expecting, but my friend drank the rest of mine and hers with no problem so, maybe that's just me. Our experience at this restaurant was top notch from the moment we walked in the door and we were so glad we made the choice to try them out. :)

We ate in this conveniently located restaurant for lunch and dinner. We like Italian cuisine and the food at this attractive restaurant did not disappoint us. The meals were well prepared with fresh ingredients. My pasta primavera had a great array of fresh vegetables: mushrooms, broccolini, red peppers, and peas. The lunch service was rather slow and indifferent, but the dinner service was excellent. Not having a car, we could walk to this restaurant from our hotel.

We had a very enjoyable experience !! Greeted and seated right away, Ordered and received our order as requested. Food was good, service was good. They have 7 locations, so they must be doing something right !! Recommended !!

Enjoyed very friendly service and a sumptuous lunch. We ordered the lunch special -- lasagna which was excellent along with the salad and fresh warm bread. Excellent.

My husband and I are both Gluten Free and Pastini’s was recommended to us. It is such a treat to find gluten free Italian and the food was very good. I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, always my favorite and it was very good. My husband had Meat Sauce Bolognese with gluten free spaghetti and he liked his as well. We also ordered a Caesar salad without croutons. The dr Rossi g was very good and you could taste the garlic and anchovies in it. We also ordered their specialty cocktails - Lucca’s Lemonade, Made Manhattan and Lugano Drop. They were also very tasty. My reason for rating them a 4 was that the service was very slow. Our waiter was very nice and helpful but it seemed like huge gaps between when he would appear. In the end we finally got up to go find him to get our check. Other than that it was a great meal.

A very special Italian restaurant in Downtown Portland. Seeing Lamb Ragu on the menu special list we were impressed. Loads of lamb, a rich tomato sauce, ample portions of mushrooms all over polenta. A great selection.

While visiting Downtown Portland we ran into this nice place. I felt like having something delicious and this was the place. Great portions , very tasty food . Wednesday you pay 50% of the wine. Ice. Cream delicious.excellen service

The food and the service at this authentic Italian restaurant, are excellent! It wasn't overpriced nor pretentious. The bottles of wine were at a 50% discount, and the wine was delicious. The waitstaff was professional and friendly. Clearly this is a well managed restaurant.

The menu selection is great and so varied. House wine was excellent. And the Gelato is the best I've tasted since visiting Italy in person!

The restaurant had very good service, it was loud, a noisy large party was happening. Our pasta dishes were very good and the caesar salad was excellent - very crisp and a good dressing.

The caprece salad was sub-par, and the caesar salad my husband ordered was ordinary. The appetizer was not worth finishing either. Wine list was unimpressive. Staff was friendly and service prompt.

My son and I was in Portland visiting the city and was looking for a place for lunch. We came upon this restaurant. The food and pricing was great. We will definitely eat there again when we come back.

Typical run-of-the-mill pasta joint. Nothing worth writing home about. I can think of better places to spend disable about on lunch.

Stopped in here after a movie and the service was very friendly and accommodating. Orders were handled efficiently and most of all, the food was delicious. We both had pasta dishes and didn't leave a morsel. Dessert was also top notch. Will definitely return

Usually I go to Pastini's for lunch, but decided I didn't want to cook and it was too hot. Walked over (2 blocks), waited for a few minutes, since I was solo and they were really crowded. Finally sat at a counter on an upper level, and it was perfect for me. Service, as always was great, and since I thought I was really hungry, ordered a small Caesar Salad and a pasta dish with bacon, peas and a cream sauce (forgot the name). Big difference between lunch and dinner. Couldn't finish either, so I have lunch or dinner for tomorrow as well. Since I've mentioned the lunch a couple of times, weekdays from 11-2;30 have a selection of salad/past dishes that are well worth the money, and are smaller sized, so if you work, you won't fall asleep at the desk. Great place, I try to get back fairly often.

We wanted Italian food and Pastini was literally around the block from the hotel. Why get Uber or Lyft and go across town when you can walk to a good restaurant, right? We were greated and quickly seated and found it was not real fancy but really comfortable. The food was very good. I ordered Fasilli pasta with chicken and the pasta was perfect and the sause (though I could used a bit more than what was on it) was also fresh and good. Good food and friendly service and a reasonable price. Can't go wrong with that!

Our food was excellent and our server extremely helpful and friendly. I would most definitely come here again.

Ate here on a rainy evening in October, thinking we were going to enjoy a nice Italian meal. Food was adequate but very ordinary. Service was adequate if a little slow. A very average restaurant.

Very pleased with the food. Nice selections for drinks and a bite of lunch. Meatball sandwich was quite tasty.

Excellent food, very attentive server and fantastic value! Starter was excellent and my pasta main was superb. Very fresh and extremely flavoursome.

I had dinner here with a party of eight. The service was competent and the atmosphere is almost non-existent for an Italian restaurant. I had spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti was overcooked. The marinara sauce was decent but more garlic than any other spice flavor. The meatballs were reasonably tender and reasonably flavorful. There are many really good Italian restaurants in Portland. This isn't one of them. It seems a bit expensive for what you get and everything is a la carte. If you're in a pinch it'll fill you up. But if you want some good Italian food you should probably look elsewhere.

Friendly service with very good Italian food. The homemade pasta is what lured us in. My husband is Italian and thus very picky about his pasta. He enjoyed it.

I ate here three times, twice lunch and one dinner. I enjoyed the food and dessert along with a nice red wine.

First visit was so bad I went back for another observation. Visit one for dinner. House was 2/4 full. Wait staff appeared over whelmed, resulting in spotty service. Ordered hors d'oeuvres, appetizer and main dish. They all arrived at the same time! Bruschetta was OK, nothing special. Artichoke spread was devoid of any artichoke flavor. Seemed canned. Both of these were large enough to share among 2 or more people. Lasagna was terrible. The marinara was overpoweringly sweet and pureed, I suspect it was canned. Second visit, house was full, but the service was attentive and quick. Marinara and toast (again, large serving) was completely different this time. Recognizable tomatoes and basil. still pretty sweet, but not candy-like. The staff advised that the marinara sauce, used in all the red dishes, is made in house. Butternut squash ravioli was OK. It was literally swimming in butter sauce. The wine list is average, reasonable selections at market prices. A bright spot is the house wine. Decent chianti in my instance. General prices are average for this type of restaurant. Given the variation in food quality from one visit to the next, you might consider somewhere else.

Very filling meals! Lots of bread, I think bread comes with everything! I got the five cheese lasagna, be prepared for a very rich sauce! It was delicious but I couldn't finish my meal after the appetisers and salad. Wait staff were all very friendly and attentive. The setting has a romantic feel with some cool tunes playing in the back ground. Great experience.

I loved my dinner of rigatoni with butternut squash. I was in a hurry, and the meal was served within minutes. Staff was wonderful - pleasant, efficient, accommodating. The rest of my friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well.

A very pleasant evening. An Italian Lemon Drop martini, or two, Roasted Artichoke-Garlic Spread with Bruschetta, Linguini with Chicken Piccata and Lemon Custard Cake for dessert. I had such a great time enjoying the meal, we shared the Bruschetta and dessert, that I can't remember what my wife ordered for her main dish. I can tell you she enjoyed it as much as I. The downtown Portland location is on the Taylor St corner of Director Park which means it's in the center of downtown. Convenient, pleasant, warm, friendly and attentive service. Did I mention the food? Wonderful! I'll be back with pleasure.

This place was a great little find right across from our hotel. Very casual place but comfy and good food, not that marinara-out-of-a-jar type of place and not so fancy that you can't find anything for the kids to eat. The pasta with chicken piccata was delicious along with the garlic bread. Finished it off with the tiramisu- perfect! Service was fast and very attentive. I plan on returning again when we're in the area.

Centrally located in downtown. All the pasta options seemed really yummy. The pasta we ordered came in good portions and included bread. It was really great pasta and had a good amount of sauce. The bread was really yummy too. And the chocolate cake is amazing. 10/10 would totally go again.

We had a wonderful lunch, sitting outside. The staff was helpful and everyone wore masks- we felt safe. The food is excellent Italian- I had meatballs and pasta, which is my favorite. We will be back.

Six of us were in Oregon to tour wine country. My wife and I arrived on Thursday and our four friends arrived on Friday, all of us coming from Florida. I was tasked with finding a place for dinner what would not be far from the our hotel and not too dressy. I hit a home rub! Diagonally across the street from our hotel was Pastini. I decided this was the place when above or below the restaurant name it said “Pasta and Wine”. This place was a hit with all six of us. Of the six of us we each order an entree but there were only 4 different dishes. We all have strong opinions and could not reach agreement on which was the best. Since I am writing the review I am claiming the Tagliatelle Bolognese as the best. One thing we all agreed on is that house made pasta is best and they had done a wonderful job. Since we all love wine we were very happy with the wine list and our selection was very good. We all thought the prices was very reasonable since everything was house made except the bread. The staff was very nice and made us feel very welcome. Our only regret was that we were only going to be in Portland for one more night. This place really deserved another visit and we already had reservations for Saturday night. I guess I’ll just have to make another trip back to Portland and Pastini.

This restaurant was about 2 blocks from the Hilton where we were staying. Nice bread pasta, and wine all for a very reasonable price. Would recommend.

It's been about a month since I've eaten here, and I still think about the food.... I had the pasta with fresh basil, garlic, and roasted tomatoes along with a sangria and strawberry shortcake, and they were all top notch. the shortcake was made from scratch there, along with the whipped cream, and the berries were fresh and locally harvested. Great service!

Small, busy ristorante with great service and great food in the Hollywood area of Portland. We found it on Yelp and it was a great end to a week long trip in the northwest. We were staying near the airport but it only took about 15 minutes to get there.

The food was delicious and the service was very good. When we were seated at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon we easily got a seat but when we left there was a big long line so get in early or make a booking (if they take them). Definitely worth a visit and a meal.

We ordered take out and was a bit disappointed. Got back to the hotel and found they got the order wrong. What we did have was just OK.

We visited this place twice in 3 days as the food was so good and the location to our hotel was good. We had a variety of food over the 2 nights, all were exceptional and we had 4 empty plates each night, the ragu was exceptional. We ordered Prosecco each night and the large glass was great value for money. The staff were really helpful and friendly. There are only 4 tables outside so you do have to wait if you want to eat outside.

If you like microwaved Italian pasta dishes then this is place to visit. Tortellini pasta dish was reheated, hot in the centre and cool on the outside. Feedback to the staff was well received and a replacement dish provided. Again microwaved but edible. Israel, the server was excellent

Had lunch here just recently-and boy was it good. Got the linguini with clam sauce. It is a white wine based sauce, so good to sop up the the excellent bread. Nice wine list too, and their house red was very tasty. Good price. Good service.

While staying at the Paramount Hotel in Portland, Oregon, my wife and I ate dinner at the Pasting Pastaria. Literally steps away across the street from the Paramount, this restaurant was not only convenient, but it had delicious food. I had the lasagna which came with bread. My wife and I also split the dinner salad which was enormous and very good. Prices are very competitive and the service was top notch. Don't hesitate to try this restaurant out if you have a chance.

Had very good Pasta dish as well as outstanding service from our server. Prices were moderate for the downtown area - typically 14 - 21 dollars excluding drinks. Quiet restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Low volume background music - just across from the Paramount Hotel. It is part of a chain of approx 10 restaurants.

After a horrible experience at Mucca Osteria, we went to Pastini’s which was near our hotel. We were greeted by very friendly people and without a reservation, sat within 5 minutes. Our waiter, Andrew greeted us with a smile and was excellent all night. The food was good but not fancy so a decision on what you want is important.

Great menu and friendly staff & servers. Enjoyed GF pasta options and a YUMMY GF tiramisu. Visited twice during my stay!

We had pastini rosso, baked ziti linguini piccata, and linguini pesto pollo. Food was tasty . We shared a tiramisu for dessert.

Best Italian food in Portland! Great atmosphere, great for families or a couple. The waitstaff is magnificent! They are helpful, cheerful, happy to be there. We had spaghetti and meat balls! And the balls (meat) are magnifio! They are great size, only could eat two. We would go again, if we ever get back to Portland.

We recently had a big family dinner at Pastini in downtown Portland. The wait staff was terrific. We had two young children with us, and I asked our waiter to please bring their orders first. Their dinners arrived about ten minutes later, and that kept the kids busy so we could enjoy ours. The pasta choices are many, mostly very good--not outstanding. But the service is wonderful. The wait staff made every effort to accommodate our large party. For that reason alone, I would return with my family to Pastini.

Tired of walking, needed dinner and just stopped in on a whim as we were passing by. I had cannelloni frutti di mare - great! Husband had spaghetti with meatballs. He said it was good, not awesome, but the meatballs were large and filling. Comfort food. Moderately priced. Decent serving size.

Pastini Pastaria has good food and good wine. We visited for an early dinner; it was beautiful day. The staff gave great entree' recommendations.

I thought the food and service were wonderful. .we enjoyed everything!!! And for downtown portland the prices were a nice suprise...my carbonara was around $14 and the best thing I've had in a long time! Thanks so much we will probably go back tonight to try something new😊

Had dinner here -- It's a great little place, unassuming, but great food, great service. We were waited on by Kali, who was pleasant, friendly, had us laughing, and talked us into desert -- it wasn't tough, the deserts were great. The star of the show was the pasta with fennel sausage sauce. I'm not normally a fan of fennel sausage, but this was exceptional. Perfect balance of flavor. Wow. I'm highly impressed. The Tiramasu was good, but the fennel sausage was the showstopper. Nice place, great food, great service, good prices. If I can, I will eat here again.

Stopped by for dinner with my family. There is a parking garage across from the restaurant. The restaurant itself does not have parking. Park across the street for $5. We were immediately seated when we arrived and were seated in a booth. The server was attentive and got our order right. The food was freshly prepared. Overall excellent service and food. Highly recommend it.

Go Wednesday 1/2 bottles of wine .great deal. The pasta selection was good I had lasagna with a tone of cheese and good fresh meat sauce with mushrooms. Daughters had rigatoni and fettuccine ate the whole dish.that means it's good!!!

I go to Pastini Pastaria from time to time for a late lunch, when the crowd is gone. The service is very good, and the selection of Italian-american dishes is good. This is not a place for a memorable meal, but one you can depend upon, with a good variety of dishes and salads, good drinks (especially their coolers), and good deserts.

We had a wonderful dinner here! We had tickets for the Oregon Symphony and wanted to diner somewhere nearby. We came with plenty of time so that we could have a relaxed meal, without stressing about time. Our server was the perfect blend of friendly and professional, and offered very smooth service even towards the end when the restaurant had filled up and she was clearly very busy. Our meals were delicious and loved by all 3 of the generations at the table! Thanks for making our evening so special.

Great chain; gets noisy at prime dinner time - you may want to go early. It's funny they are giving the address on SW 9th Avenue, because that's in downtown Pdx, nowhere near the Alberta Arts district. (It's the other side of the Willamette river.) The Pastini location at 1426 NE Broadway is about a mile from this area, and that's my review.

We returned from a tour of Portland and were looking for a place for a good afternoon lunch/dinner. We found Pastini's with tables outside which was perfect on this beautiful afternoon. We split their ham and cheese panini along with their caprese salad. Both were excellent! Highly recommend! Very close to the parking deck where we'd left our car for our tour. Prices

Friendly servers and atmosphere, delicious dinner salad and pasta. You will know how good the food is as soon as you step in and catch the aroma!

I didn't expect much but mushy penne and inferior cheese is too much, especially for Italian restaurant. We left all the food and the waitress didn't bother to ask why..

We shared the summer fruit salad as an appetizer...the mixed greens were crisp, the strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries were fresh and the champagne vinaigrette dressing was pleasantly sweet. I had ziti with sausage. The sausage was thinly sliced and the sauce was light and creamy. The shrimp gamberini was spicy and savory. Do try the sangria, it was delicious too!

During our downtown run of errands my husband and I decided to have lunch at Pastini. It was the perfect lunch for us! Monday noon was an ideal time as we were seated promptly in a quietly elegant corner. Alexandre provided attentive, spot on service. The manicotti was delivered piping hot, fresh from the oven, with fresh tomato marinara sauce smothering the pasta roll filled with savory creamy goodness. All my senses danced with joy! We left feeling lifted in spirit and body. Thanks for your consistent quality and service.

They have a lunch menu with various pasta dishes and salads. I ordered SPAGHETTI SICILIANO with a FIELD GREENS SALAD and a side order of GARLIC BREAD. The salad was large and flavorful. The spaghetti was good. Had more of a Mediterranean flavor with capers. I ordered butternut squash ravioli to go but haven’t tried it yet. They were short staffed but the servers were hustling and friendly. Would recommend.

If one happens to be in downtown Portland this is a good Italian to stop for lunch or dinner. And the price is very reasonable.

While on business in Portland we ate at Pastini. I’m a Gray Goose Vodka fan and was disappointed when I found out they didn’t serve it. The server recommended a local craft vodka, Crater Lake. I was very skeptical but it’s actually really good! As far as the food, I had Shrimp Scampi that was very nicely seasoned. Oh, don’t order the ‘plain’ Brushetta, you’ll be disappointed, it’s just toasted bread, with butter 😊.

All I can say is DELISH! I placed a to go order that was ready in 15 minutes. Parmesan Bread, Mixed green salad and the Five Cheese Lasagna. (Oh my). It was superb! Well done Pastini!!

Stopped here late afternoon for meal before heading to airport. Their evening hadn't started so we had not trouble getting a table. The food was classic Italian, but nothing special. Unfortunately even with the place mostly empty, we felt rushed - food served as if it was sitting there waiting in kitchen. The wine too was overpriced by a few dollars. Overall good food, nice staff but not the ambience I expected.

Portland is known for its excellent food from all types of cuisines, including Italian. I decided to give Pastini a try, for I was in the area at that time. I was highly impressed with the food and the service. The prices were also reasonable. The caprese salad was excellent. My entrée was the Tortellini Gorgonzola, which was excellent. The menu had a variety of good pasta dishes, both with meat and vegetarian. I have been to a number of Italian restaurants in Downtown Portland, and I think Pastini is my favorite so far. Also, it is just a few blocks away from Pioneer Place Mall, Pioneer Square, and hotels like the Hilton. It is easy to walk there from the MAX or Portland streetcar. I highly recommend Pastini for foodies who enjoy visiting Portland.

Pastini was across the street from our hotel and we were tired from a long day of walking around Portland so we kept it simple and just walked across the street We tried to call ahead but they did not answer the phone. They were crowded but the wait was only about 20 minutes and the hostess was quite friendly. Our waiter, Andrew, was raring to go. He explained the dishes and offered to have the chef make my shrimp and pasta exactly how I wanted it. I had pasta and shrimp but with marinara sauce instead of oil&pepper flakes and it was delicious. My wife loved her baked Ziti. Andrew also helped us choose the house "something like a Chianti" wine which we enjoyed but could not finch so he bagged it up for us to enjoy later at our hotel!

We had two pasta dishes, caprese salad, wine, and tiramisu. All delicious. Great service. Meal was a little slow to arrive, but not a very long wait.

We had a lovely Valentine's Dinner here. After being seated at a two-small table, our server graciously moved us to a much larger and more comfortable table. The food was outstanding as was our server, Nicole. Cappuccino would have made the evening perfect.

My autistic son Paul went there and told me amazing things about that vodka pasta and that waitress who has a boyfriend that works there. Tip her well please

As the title says, I am completely jealous of Oregon because that is the only place that you can find Pastini restaurants. Fortunately I live just across the state line in Washington so I will just wait patiently for the next time that we can visit. We tried this out on a whim and it was a long walk from our hotel on Broadway but it was so worth it! We got there prretty close to closing and not only were we not rushed out of the place, we were able to take advantage of their awesome happy hour. The service was great and the restaurant atmosphere was really nice, almost like a formal restaurant instead of a casual one. The food was amazing and I even signed up for their email alerts! Hope to go back soon!

Being a rainy evening, this place was on our radar as close-by to our hotel and able to seat a large group. The ambience and food were below my expectations for an Italian resto. Prices are surprisingly reasonable. I ordered ziti with Italian sausage. It was meh.

Convenient for our hotel and quality such that we need go no further! Good selection of pasta meals, salads and drinks. The restaurant was busy but service was prompt, giving us ample time, and friendly. The food was delicious, well presented and cooked nicely. The restaurant was obviously thriving and well managed. We were welcomed back like old friends on our subsequent visits. No doubt we will return when we return to Portland.

They have reasonably priced pasta and salads. Good service. I had a salad, it was good but not that big.

Great fresh and delicious meals were had. Attentive friendly service. Everything was well cooked. Pasta dishes were wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyable meal. Half price wine Wednesday which was a bonus. Highly recommended!

Plenty on the menu to meet everyone expectations. Glueten free, vegetarian as well as a variety of Italian specialties. Service was great even for our group of 8 people with different dietary needs. Short walk from Hilton Hotels.

Another gift from god called Pastini Pastaria the appitizer was excellent and made me crave more. My food was excellent not to much sauce or too little and the Itallian soda tasted like dynamite; overall good service positive vibes and excellent food!

We all opted for the $9 lunch specials. I thought the portions were very good to be a special. Service was fast and very attentive.

The service was absolutely outstanding - timely, accurate, solid recommendations, and she was very friendly. The food was simply incredible - very well seasoned, good portions and delicious.

Wonderful dinner. Wine Wednesday gets you half price bottles. Spaghetti and meatballs were delicious! Other orders were just as great.

$6 meals, cheaper beer, low cost appetizers. If go before 6 (maybe 5:30?) You'll spend a lot less and have great time.

I had a good meal here, nothing exception. We were a party of 6, 4 of whom were repeaters (this restaurant is close to my granddaughter's college which makes it convenient). Service was very good.

Really good pasta and great service. They also have a good local & international wine selection. You don't need to ask for extra bread, they give you plenty with your meal. The pasta with shrimp was very good

When visiting Oregon Pastini is a must for our Italian food fix. great food, prompt service. Grandkids love it also.

Well recommended, but for me, the food tasted over seasoned with too much Italian seasoning on/in everything with the exception of the garlic bread. Great availability for wheelchair users.

Probably the best food we'd had during the duration of our vacation and we all agree that it is very authentic Italian. Dad and I enjoyed the CAPELLINI POMODORO although I was very excited to see they also had SPAGHETTI AGLIO E OLIO on the menu. Hubby had BUTTERNUT SQUASH-GORGONZOLA RAVIOLI and couldn't quit raving about it. Need them to put one here in central Texas!

Met a relative for lunch on a weekday. Kale and apple salad followed up with the rigatoni zuccati is my favorite and it was superbly done again. The healthy salad balanced with the delightful entree of roasted butternut squash, rigatoni, and cheese makes a wonderful lunch. I've visited locations at Bridgeport and SE Portland and all have demonstrated the same commitment to super service with quality food at reasonable prices. A consistently nice all around venue for a quick lunch, family dinner, or even something more romantic.

Near Pioneer Square and diagonally across the street from the Paramount Hotel, Pastini was a nice choice for a quick bite for supper. They have a nice menu with great wine choices, but we were just after a quick supper and they filled the bill for us with some nice pasta and side salads. Very good, solid Italian fare and moderately priced if you search the menu.

We had a delicious dinner and excellent service at a very reasonable price in a nice atmosphere. What more can you ask for? I particularly enjoyed the fettuccini Alfredo which can often be done poorly. Mine was done just right - al dente in a rich, smooth sauce perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of black pepper. Definitely recommend going here when pasta is what you need!

I have to agree with most of the other good reviews. Friendly server, got our food quickly and it was hot. We had an appetizer and shared a meal. More food than we needed, but we managed to get it all down. Their Antipasto Platter, and Spaghetti and Meatballs were very good. We would certainly stop here again when staying in down town Portland. My wife says to make sure I mention their sangria. Glad we were walking back to the hotel.

The menu is large and loaded with common favorites like Meatball, ravioli, and a variety of pasta preparations. The meatballs are flavorful and have a pleasant, even texture that is uniform but not overworked. The sauce is nicely chunky and flavorful but maybe a bit under-seasoned. The short rib ravioli taste freshly home-made and have a wonderful pasta texture but lack salt and pepper. All of the portions are very generous and the service is cheerful, informed and quick.

We went here because it was close to our hotel, and dinner was a good dinner. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's not a darkly-lit, romantic restaurant, and it's not fine dining. It's more like a neighborhood Italian restaurant. The staff were friendly, but not pushy. If you're looking for a good Italian dinner in Portland that won't break the bank, this is a good option.

The service was great and environment great. I had spaghetti and it was fair. Nothing special and nothing bad. They do have a good happy hour which I think ends at 5:30. It was close to my hotel, but I didn't go back after my first visit. Only because it wasn't memorable.

Had delicious ravioli. Menu says add chicken, but I added shrimp instead and it was delightful. Waiter not only willingly took the substitution, but said he thought he'd have the same after his shift.

Pastini is apparently a small chain of restaurants local to the area and so I assume the food would be about the same in their different locations. Running with the theme of it being a small chain, I found this to be reflected in the food. Much better than you'd find at chain restaurants, with the bolognese sauce having some good flavor and well cooked meat, it didn't completely have that smaller, independent restaurant quality to it, nor the serving size. This is one of the few times I've eaten at an Italian restaurant and was hungry for more. Service took some time as the place was very busy, but was friendly enough. over all, the food was good, wine was good, but would have preferred a larger portion for the price, as is what I'm used to for pasta dishes.

All I need to say is Nonna's Supper! OMG! Just get it! The mac and cheese base was so creamy and delicious and then to top it off with a wonderful bolognese... perfection! Already missing it and wishing I could go back for more! My husband had the spaghetti carbonara and as very pleased with it as well. The following day I ordered the tomato bisque and it was light and delightful. My husband had the spaghetti and spicy sausage and that too was full of flavor. Brian, I believe his name was, answered when I placed our order and I told him how much I truly enjoyed Nonna's Supper from the previous night and he surprised us with a piece if tiramisu as thank you. What a special and thoughtful touch. I already miss you Pastini and will dream of Nonna's!!! XOXO

My husband and I were visiting Portland and passed by this restaurant at dinnertime. We looked at the menu in the window and decided to try it. We did not have, nor need, a reservation on that day. It was Day 2 of a 12 day vacation so I do not remember specifically what we ate but I do remember that it was plentiful (I couldn't finish my portion!) and very good. Service was excellent too. I would recommend this restaurant for a casual, good dinner!

We ate here twice. The first time we loved the food, the setting and the service. The second time, we didn't. The first time, the pasta was close to authentically Italian (and we've lived there, so we know). Service was prompt, correct and friendly. The second time, the food was indifferent, the service slow and mistaken, although still friendly. Another key factor: the second time, the place was so noisy, we gave up trying to talk to each other, ate up quickly (as soon as we got our delayed food) and got the heck outta there. Would we go back? Probably not.

We were going for pasta before a race and found this with good reviews. We shared a cauliflower gratin that was excellent. I had the spaghetti a la gambertti (with shrimp), husband had the seasonal special pasta a la campagna (spicy sausage, peppers, tomatoes in a light cream sauce) (AMAZING) and kids had meatballs and spaghetti and spicy sausage and spaghetti (both very good). Service was good but even better than the service was the price. Before tip, 4 adult meals + appetizer was $67. Portions were decent without being obnoxiously huge. Very good choice on a budget and wanting something good but not ordinary.

Lovely place with lots of windows and a comfortable fun setting. All the food was delicious and the desserts were to die for. Our server was attentive, patient and friendly with the kids.

4 of us dined here, 2 had zoodles instead of pasta and they were cooked to perfection! Didn't even feel like we were missing out on anything. Servers were super pleasant and drinks were good

After a long day of sightseeing, we were looking for a quick, quiet place to eat that was close by. The menu had a nice selection, and they seem to want to make an effort to meet the expectations of all customers (even advertising the fact that they're willing to remake any item a person is displeased with). The food was pleasantly lighter than other Italian fare I've had. Food was reasonable priced with salads being especially generous.

We had a great experience at Pastini Pastaria. The food and drinks were very good. The service was spot on. The prices were fair. Recommended!

We were looking for a late tasty - not too expensive - meal. Found it! Nice range of dishes on the menu. I had the Bolognese - wish I had added a meatball which I saw someone at another table do. Live and learn! We had received a bottle of wine as a gift and were not going to be able to fly home with it so we brought it with us. $10 corkage fee. Seriously - what a bargain! All in all, I recommend - You won't think you are in Italy -but the food is good and the people are friendly and the price is right.

We had an early dinner which was excellent. We started by splitting a small Caesar salad, and then ordered the Chicken Alfredo and Cappellini Pomodore. Both were large potions with excellent flavor. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. We would stop here again. The gelato desserts looked very good, but we had no room for them.

My wife and I had lunch there today after our Multnomah tour..I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and my wife had the Lasagna. It was excellent. My compliments to the chef. The only suggestion I would make is tgat tge Caesar salad and mushroom soup that we ordered come before the meal, not at the same time. Had to rush to eat tge salad before the Alfredo got cold.

I stopped by this restaurant while visiting Portland and tried the butternut squash ravioli. This dish was so flavorful and well executed that I came back a couple days later for the same dish! It was one of the few dishes in life that I’ll be able to remember the taste for years to come! If I ever find myself in Portland you can believe that I will be back for this dish again! And the wait staff was fantastic both times!

We decided to try a more 3* approach to an italian dinner for budgetary reasons and had a nice surprise in Portland with Pastini! I had chicken fiorentino with a nice glass of montepulciano (which was a good sign to have on the wine list), my wife had a light creamy pasta with wild mushrooms, rosemary and other herbs. We were delighted with the freshness of the food, the quality, the great service, and quick and delicious dishes for our children (broccolini with a meatball). Give it a try and save a few bucks $

We were at the hotel across the street and pasta sounded good so we tried it out on a busy Friday. We got seated quickly and got started with an antipasto platter that was very good. I kept it simple with spicy sausage spaghetti that I enjoyed quite a lot. My wife was not as happy with the linguini pesto pollo, which could have been really good with better seasoned chicken. She felt it was a bit bland for a dish featuring pesto. Overall, though, it was good, but not great. The concierge at our hotel said that people used to complain about the place, but reports were getting better in the recent past.

We were fortunate to get a seat within 30 minutes for dinner - we ordered the pasta (spaghetti & meatballs and carbonara). Delicious - Portland has an amazing group of restaurants that serve wonderful food. The portions were big and the service was wonderful. We highly recommend Pastini to anyone needing an Italian fix.

GREAT service, just average food. Typical chain restaurant experience. There is a charge for bread... don't bother, it wasn't anything special. The salads were good, the pasta was blah. Now, we both chose pasta with olive oil, so maybe that was the issue, but they just lacked flavor. Maybe opt for an actual sauce and you'll have better luck.

When I come to Portland I have high expectations because of all the amazing restaurants here. For most people, I’m sure it’s perfectly fine, especially for the money. It’s close to downtown hotels and isn’t expensive. My server did a great job. I came in at 6:30pm and my pasta was ready in 5 mins. It’s cheap and fast with good service but the food is really mediocre. There are SO many better choices in Portland. Pros: Location Price Service Cons: The food

I hesitated when I read this was a local chain but we were road weary and wanted something good nearby. PP didn't disappoint. In fact our spinach salad was really really good and the small size was more than ample for sharing. I had pasta with pesto which was fresh tasting and delicious. My only "complaint" if I had to have one is that the service is almost too quick. Tell the staff you want to linger if that's what you want

Stopped here a couple of times 'cause it was right across the street form our hotel. Good cheap eats. $8.50 for pasta, Caesar salad and bread, $2.00 for meatballs which actually tasted authentic, being Sicilian I'm picky when it comes to meatballs. Their tiramisu was also very good. For a chain restaurant I'd give Pastini a thumbs up.

My family stumbled into this Italian place for lunch and were blown away by the excellent service & value. Lunch specials were well priced & everything tasted great.

Good for the money and location but nothing special. Modern and comfortable in central Portland and an easy walk from many hotels. Since I can’t remember what I ate it wasn’t too memorable

Nice location across from Directors Park in Portland. We had the shrimp Alfredo and Five Cheese lasagna. Both were good. Had to pay extra for garlic bread but my husband loved it.

The staff is excellent and the food lovely. From start to finish we enjoyed the food and the ambiance emmencely.
Nice value, Great Pasta
Polite, quality service. Clean and warm. Bolgnese Pasta prepared al dente', ant not smothered with sauce. Just like Italy.Special bruschetta, complete with enormous slices of grilled bread with tapenade and tomato, very, very good. Appetizer of scampi is clean and buttery.
