Raining, windy not many people out in the Riverwalk area; pleasant place to have a cocktail. Atrium area very quaint, but rained out. Just good Pub food. Pleasant place to "recharge" in a central location.

This is a great place to hang out with friends and have some drinks. Food is good also. Great music either out on patio or in piano bar. It's good time all around. Funnest place we visited while here. Tree was a great waitress.

Ez walk feom hotel ,lively atmosphere , settled rink away!! My Frind a I shared a appetizer sampler ,which had chicken wings gator bites catfish strips ,with dipping sauce Wich was just ok!!!! Also had a bowl of gumbo Wich was very good & hardy service was ok . Music was good but loud.

This is a hidden gem! The menu is a little limited, but the jambalya was delish and the Salmon was amazing. Great Hurricane, but that goes without saying Right?! Our server was the best we had the whole trip- She was very attentive and kept my tea glass full! Great place to relax and enjoy some people watching and good food!

My daughter had the French toast and my son had the eggs your way...my husband and I had hurricanes and the always delicious cancun shrimp! great food & drinks...great staff!

Beautiful location. Went to have a late dinner and a few drinks. Arrived at 9pm and no longer serving food. So we had some drinks, which were as good as ever. Arrive early if you want to eat!

Wanted to compare this one to the original in NOLA. Set up very similar, drinks are the same. We had a great time. It's hard to beat the original, but they did a great job! Worth a visit!

We went on a Friday and we always come here. For some reason the food was off.The batter om the shrimp was falling off and the wings were raw.Guess the cook was off this day cause we always come here and the food is ALWAYS good. Will give it another try on our next visit.

Food was great! Alligator, shrimp po boy, and the mufaletta were all great! We sat inside, but there is also an outdoor patio

The enclosed patio/dining area is secluded from the activity on the street and they played great music. The food was a bit spicy, not Irish like I expected from the name of the restaurant. It was good though. Our service was not great since the waitress didn't seem too friendly or interested in her customers. There are help wanted signs everywhere in the city so it seems good help is hard to find.

Enjoyed our evening in Pat O’Brien’s. Great band the night we were there. Not sure the name of the band. We stayed a couple of hours had a few drinks and enjoyed the band. There is also a piano bar. We checked it out when we were leaving. We love piano bars but this one wasn’t that good at the moment we went in. We stayed 20 minutes and left.

Went to Pat O'Brien's on a Friday night with a group of 25 and it was First Friday, so I thought there was no way we would get seats. We were seated at the Patio just in time for the DJ to start. We had an amazingly fun time. Drinks are very good. I recommend the sampler, which his 6 drink samples, well worth the price. Food was very good. It is located in the heart of downtown SA, right across from the Alamo.

Piano bar was super fun. NO FOOD AFTER 7??!!?? WHAT?? you just opened at 5. Waitstaff could not have been more uninterested

My father bought a party for 50 people that was generously donated by Pat O'Brian's to the KLRN Auction. The restaurant gave us the entire upstairs (two rooms) which was nicely decorated with table linens, candles, and antique furniture around the room. We were also lucky and got to use flowers from the previous night's event. The bartender and wait staff were really friendly and provided great service. All the food was good (salad, jambalaya, red beans and rice, gumbo, mini muffalatas) but our favorite was the Bread Pudding -- which was awesome. The topping bar came with whipped cream, caramel, pecans, and strawberries. Yum! Much appreciation to Pat O'Briens for making my mother's surprise 80th birthday party a huge success and for supporting KLRN.

Decided to visit based on website and excellent menu. Arrived to find less than 39% of menu available. What is the deal? Governor opened up restaurants over a month ago. Manager gave me a sob story about how bad it’s been. I agree. I am here trying to support restaurants and they really don’t want my business. You cannot come back crying about the past. Pull up your big boy shorts and get back to business.

We went at night for pub crawl, there were multiple piano players the drinks were flowing all around good time.

We googled restaurants in San Antonio and found out we were standing across the street from the Arch that leads to Pat O'brien's. We went in and were assured that our dog was welcome. She was and the singer/ guitarist Nathan Lugo asked her name to welcome her! Made us relax. We ordered the Jambalaya and a side of wings. Both were delicious. Had a nice evening there and then walked back to our hotel.

Well as nightlife in San Antonio goes Pat has it all, good vibes good beers and excellent music and food Not to be missed

To some extent, if you have been to one Pat O'briens, you've been to them all. We like stopping at them to have a refreshment and some alligator bites. There was some live entertainment, so that added to the fun. If you like this Pat O'briens, stop by. If not, check out somewhere else. Service was fine, and it was pleasant to sit outside.

Arrived on a busy day in San Antonio for a late lunch. Restaurant wasn't super busy. Waitress took order and we waited and waited and waited and finally left when it hit the one hour mark of waiting for food. Not to mention water from the ceiling was dripping on our table..certainly needs some work

I'm New Orleans born and raised. We went for a late dinner Saturday night, Memorial Day weekend. I'm being generous giving this branch 3 stars. The food was mediocre by New Orleans standards. (Could they make a living selling this food in New Orleans? Maybe, but only to tourists, not locals.) The courtyard with a live band (presumably the reason for the unexpected $7 cover charge) was full, as was the bar, so we went back to the piano bar, which was nearly full, way too loud, but generally okay. Requested one of my favorite Dr. John songs. (This was before his unfortunate death.) He was one of New Orleans' finest and most famous pianists, composers, arrangers, and producers. Neither of the "dueling" piano players in this New Orleans themed piano bar knew "Such a Night" even though it made it to #42 in the Billboard Top 100. They played "Right Place, Wrong Time" instead, in a most unsatisfactory up-tempo arrangement. My wife and I are not big drinkers, but we shared a hurricane. It was okay but not as good as I recalled. The best I can say about this visit to a branch of Pat O's is it (barely) scratched my itch for home style cuisine, beverage, and entertainment.

Staying in a nearby top hotel, we were looking for a place to eat ‘real food’. Fine dining is ok but we are real people who like honest good cooking. First the welcome we got from the very happy waitress made a huge impression! Next, we were spoiled for choice with the menu. I settled on a chicken sandwich and my husband had the O’Briens burger. He said it was one of the best burgers he’d had. My chicken sandwich was damned good. Our sides of fries were scrummy! They had a coating that had a bit of a kick to it. Our waitress kept coming back to check on us and each time she had a bit of playful banter with us. All in all this was an excellent dining experience. Pat O’Briens...keep it up, you’re doing great!

Loved the food and atmosphere. Our server,Quest, very attentive and personable. New Orleans in San Antonio. What could be better? Onough of the Tex- Mex. We will return. The manager stopped by at least 3 times and that is important that he cares that his patrons are pleased.

Seeing the oversized Irish leprechaun outside, I had to go in for a Hurricane. We ended up staying for lunch and it was delicious. I had the cajun sampler with red beans and rice, jumbalaya and gumbo. The family had pastas and salads and everyone was happy after the meal. I enjoyed my first hurricane drink after hearing all about it over the years from friends who visited New Orleans. It's a little sweet for my taste, but now I can say I have been to Pat O'Briens. Great wait staff here serves you quickly.

We are in our mid sixties, travel, and eat out regularly with friends. And drink. We both had the blackened catfish and it was good. Seasoned nicely, but nothing special. I didn't care for the jambalaya, but my husband thought it was ok. All in all a good meal. Now for the drink. I know that I did NOT order a virgin Hurricane, but it seems that is what I got. If you know what I am talking about when I say that there are Mexican food places that we frequent where I know that the Margarita is good and has tequila in it, and other places are stingy with the tequila, so I get a beer there. Hurricanes are supposed to have a good amount of alcohol in them. I am a little person, weighing in at 100 pounds. I felt nothing, not even a buzz. My husband would not let me go back and say something to the bartender, so here is this review. Guess the bartender thought this old gal wouldn't know that he was stingy with the liquor in my drink. Actually, we're the ones with the most experience. I paid a lot of money for fruit juices. Don't waste your money on it.

The food was good but not as good as the restaurant in New Orleans. Prices with in local rates. Friendly staff. We had wings, jambalaya and a chicken sandwich. Plenty of food. I would return. Needs a good cleaning.

Enjoyed the live music outside in the courtyard. Drinks were good but did not try the food. Service was excellent.

Lovely choice of beers and a lovely vibe along the river walk. Grab some good pub food and enjoy this traditional Irish pub in the middle of Texan territory - the atmosphere makes a trip necessary. The staff are friendly and the prices on a par with surrounding venues

After a hot morning of sight seeing my sister in law and I needed someplace to get something to eat and cool off. We found this place and was glad we did. The inside part is small but we had no trouble getting a table. She got a huge burger with bacon and a large serving of fries. I wasn't hungry so just got a diet soda. She liked the burger a lot and I helped eat some of the fries. Our server was Jcat and her and the bartender made sure our drinks were always filled. The mens restroom looked clean to me. If you're visiting downtown San Antonio and need someplace to eat be sure and try Pat O'Briens. I'm sure you'll be glad you did. They also have a patio with more tables for you to sit at if you don't wish to sit inside. I believe they have live music in the evenings.

We enjoyed a very nice lunch with great drinks and fun server. Recommend the alligator and ask them to make it sautéd they were thinking of placing it on the menu as it is deep fried now as bites. We had them sautéd and were told they were thinking of placing them on the menu. They were as good as steak. Everyone enjoyed there food and we will be back again to enjoy the fun atmosphere and food.

There is a large patio that faces the River Walk. There was live entertainment that was lively and good quality. The wait service was friendly and efficient. The food was good and served promptly.

Staff at Pat O'Brien's are friendly, which makes me wish I could post a better review. Gumbo was thin, served over undercooked rice. The caesar salad was tasty, though it would have been nice to have bread with it rather than packaged crackers. There are no draft beers. They have a nice range of drinks and offer a really cute sampler of mini-drinks (tiny samples of each cocktail), but singles are not allowed to order the sampler, even though total ounces are about the same as two cocktails and total price is actually a bit lower than two cocktails. The waitress said that's because there is a lot of alcohol in the sampler--but there is apparently no limit on the number of full-sized cocktails a person can order. Weird and not well thought out. I would have liked to try the minis, so that was disappointing.

Had a Great time on our visit here. It was an afternoon and a live band was playing that was very enjoyable and The food was very good and service was great.

Entrance and Piano Room are pretty dark and dank. I really enjoyed the Pat O's Rainstorm...great drink!

This is a fairly large place just down the street from the Alamo. Besides an upstairs area for parties it has a large outside patio where they have different bands perform. They also have a room where a very popular twin piano set performs. They have a good selection of food and drinks

We ate lunch there while at Fiesta. Let our family walk around while we took a break. It was such a pleasant break. The appetizer was good as were the drinks. A father/son band was playing and they were good. The outdoors area was relaxing and our server good at suggesting food and drink. Will definitely return for drinks and appetizers. There were children there but would not make a habit of taking kids there. Appears to be more of an adult environment.

I wanted to stop in for a hurricane. We had them in New Orleans and wanted to compare. The hurricane was terrible. The piano player was rude and would not play any songs I requested. I was very disappointed I was hoping for so much more. You might have better luck?!?

My wife and I visited at noon on a Saturday. Seemed like they were still struggling to open. Only a small section was open. Service was slow and food was mediocre. Maybe we came at a bad time but based on this I would not recommend it.

We went here both Saturday night for the dueling pianos and Sunday morning for the Jazz brunch. Positives: -Piano players were fun & talented -Environment reminded us of little dives in New Orleans, so that was cool Negatives: -Had the Hurricane Saturday night. Both of us were not fans. Like super tart Koolaid. -Got there at 11am for the Jazz brunch but the band was just starting to setup. By the time we left around 11:45, they were starting. So, if you want music, wait till noon. -Food was just ok. But it wasn’t too expensive, so that helped.

We went twice - just husband and me. Good wings - shrimp roumalade was great. Half price apps for Friday happy hour and excellent live entertainment. Service was very attentive. Good time!

I stopped in here last night because I enjoyed the experience in their New Orleans location. Sadly the server told me that San Antonio's establishment is closing permanently at the end of August 2025. You wouldn't know it from the vibe. The service was great The Piano Bar was a lot of fun and it was just one of those places where the staff and the customers were having a good time. From their website "With heavy hearts and deep gratitude, Pat O’Brien’s San Antonio announces we will be closing its doors for the final time on Sunday August 31st, 2025, after proudly serving the downtown San Antonio community for over 22 years. Opened in 2003, Pat O’s brought the spirit of New Orleans to the heart of Texas, becoming a staple of downtown nightlife with our signature hurricanes, dueling pianos, and live music on the outdoor courtyard. More than just a bar and restaurant, Pat O’Brien’s has been a place where locals and visitors alike came to create memories, celebrate milestones, and “Have Fun!”

There was live music when we went. Very good fish and chips. My wife loved the soups (been back a number of times). Of course the beer was cold with a good selection.

Nope, nope, nope. What kind of Irish bar doesn’t have Guinness on tap? We were served a can in not even a pint glass. Hard pass. Sorry.

This place was so good we went back twice within three days. The first time we went, it was bit slow with only a single musician that was playing, but he played great. And the waitress that night was great and recommended to us when we need to come back to see a full band play. The second time, the place was rocking, just like the waitress said it would be which coupled with the awesome weather made for a great night! We even made it to the piano bar which was something I did not know they had. If you want a good time close to the downtown area I would recommend this place.

Maybe a slight step down from the original in New Orleans, but still highly recommended. Crawfish étouffée is awesome, other food excellent as well. Good pour from the bartenders. Actually HAS an outdoor smoking bar on site, just look for it. (80% non-smoking). Yes, it gets busy and noisy late at night... as well it should. Recommended.

We made a special trip to order a hurricane and it was just as yummy as I remember it from many years ago in New Orleans. We ended up splitting a catfish po' boy and it was very good with the hurricane. The sandwich was big so easily doable for 2 people. It was a Sunday night so it wasn't overly busy or noisy in the courtyard.

We were headed out to the Riverwalk and popped in for a quick drink before we got started. The atmosphere is very cool and the staff was friendly. It was late morning on a Saturday and there were only a few people there, so it was quiet and relaxing on the patio. We had Irish Coffee, which was nothing special, but still good. I ordered an extra shot of Irish Whisky for mine because nobody seems to put enough in...

The drinks were good, the musicians were awesome, but the music was waaaaay too loud. We had to leave because we couldn't even have a conversation!

I live 5 blocks from Pat O’Briens and I’ll go here a couple of times a month. The drinks are pretty good. The food, half price apps during HH, but the food isn’t all that. There are a lot better restaurants in the area. They do have run of the run of the mill entertainment. I haven’t heard any original music. If you have a group and you want something easy.?this is your place. Cheers!

Loved this place and the dueling piano bar. Enjoyed a great Hurricane and show for a couple of hours. located near the Riverwalk and The Alamo. Staff was friendly.

My wife and I had an early dinner here. During a past trip to Nawlins’ I had a fun evening at their first location meeting people from all over the world. That was a late night drinking occasion while this was a grab some dinner and get out of the heat trip. The restaurant left its doors open so the place did little to relieve either of us from the oppressive heat. My frozen margarita was a disappointment but my wife enjoyed her Fuzzy Leprechaun. I ordered shrimp romoulade salad which had four tasty shrimp and jambalaya which I would rank as average. My wife had a chicken fajita sandwich which she liked. There was entertainment outdoors which could be heard inside as the doors were open as I mentioned. Outdoor seating also had some mister fans which would make the seating easier to take. Service by Levy was very good and we got there at happy hour so my appetizer was half price.

Stopped by here after walking the River Walk and needed to get out of the heat and have a cold drink. Now I've been to Pat O'Brien's in NOLA and loved the food atmosphere. Once you walk in towards the back there is live music on the patio area, there is seating inside the main area and seating near the patio inside by the bar. Service is prompt and friendly, nice friendly patrons and easy to talk too. Drinks are reasonable priced...the Hurricane Drink is huge and very strong so beware cost only $9.50 but well worth it. Coronas $5, great prices in their menu and food is absolutely fantastic. Me and wife both had the The New Orleans Trinity (cup of red beans rice, jambalaya & Chicken gumbo) all savory with full flavors; our favorite was the Chicken Gumbo.... a must try. I would recommend stopping in here for the the taste of good NOLA Cajun food. Very reasonably priced.

28 years ago a spent virtually every night of a 2 week holiday in Pat O'briens in New Orleans so when I seen this then I had to go and say hello to an old friend. This time around then a few years older and wiser then we only came for afternoon drinks which was good as the weather was fantastic, singer was on and the staff were friendly....Until Next time Mr O'Brien.

Not Irish fare at all but Cajun/ creole. Ate outside, menu had a variety of choices, music and fountain were pretty loud to have a conversation.

Same great atmosphere as in New Orleans. Food just as good. Great service. Best Hurricane drink ever! It's the original, so it has to be the best! Definitely need to try the chocolate cake. It's is so GOOD! Just need to watch the Hurricane drink. You don't need too many of them to have a great time! There is also a piano bar. We had the best time there. You won't be sorry you went there. Enjoy!

I ordered shrimp appetizer was served 10 medium fried shrimp for 10.00. The hurricane drink specialty was so huge my wife couldn't drink it, I couldn't help her because I don't drink.

We wanted a quick lunch that’s wasn’t TexMex or BBQ. My husband had been to Pat O’brien’s in New Orleans and we stopped in. It was perfect. I had the appetizer coconut shrimp which was the best I’ve had anywhere. The shrimp were so large I ate them with a knife and fork. My husband ordered the HALFmuffuletta sandwich and couldn’t finish it. Bartender and waitstaff went out of their way to help us find our way around town. We’d return.

The food was great, and the signature Hurricane is a must to try!! The menu isn't extensive, but what we had was tasty. The live music was a pleasant bonus! I love live music, and this entertainer did not disappoint! I love when restaurants showcase local talent! I highly recommend Pat O'Brien's!! I know we will return!

Came here later in the night for a drink and stayed for a few hours. The bar tender was awesome the drinks amazing. Great stop

Huge chicken fajita sandwich for lunch at a reasonable price. Waitress was very friendly and the restaurant could use some freshen up. Didn't have a lot of time to spend in there to judge bar.

Great experience at this place. Food was fast and tasty. Got the hurricane 🍻. Outdoor patio music was good too. Would definitely recommend to anybody visiting San Antonio.

Great time at Pat O'Briens, Julia was THE best server, great fun, fun times, great entertainment , would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a fun time

Well we have visited the one in NOLA several times and this one is dissapointing after that. The music in the courtyard was nice but way too loud, even when inside. The drinks were good but the food was just ok. The restaurant itself was dirty, which is a huge issue for me. I was sorry we tried it and couldnt wait to leave.

Can't speak to price, as we had a catered business gathering in the upstairs room, but the food was quite good. They offered up southwestern egg rolls, smaller crispy shrimp rolls, hunks of tender beef, and fried shrimp. All delicious, and enough to convince me to come back another time. The drinks left something to be desired - unclear how long the wines had been left open, but they were each completely undrinkable. We were a bit restricted on the drink selection, so I won't mark them down on that count. All together, seemed to be a nice spot with decently good food. Room was LOUD, however. Unsure if that was just our meeting or would have been similar with a normal dining scene.

Happened upon this place after the Riverwalk was packed and couldn’t find any place to eat. The Dueling Piano bar just opened as we got there. We lucked out! Food was good. The entertainment was great! The dueling duet pianos were fun to interact with!

We partied at Pat O'Brien's on the San Antonio Riverwalk for my mother-in-law's 84th birthday last weekend and it was fantastic! The drinks were amazing - Hurricane and the Spiked up lemonade were delicious and lethal! YUM! We had botanas instead of a full meal and decided on wings, fried alligator, shrimp, etc. It was all great and we ordered additional samples of the various appetizers. The live music was good quality and a lot of fun and the overall spirit of the place was enjoyable. Highly recommend a visit!

Have been twice in the last week. Enjoyed the Catfish Appetizer both times with a cold beer. Its nice that they allow kids at the tables in the bar area which is air conditioned! Bartender was very attentive to pushing tables together for us. Food was good.

On a day with good weather like the day we went, this is a nice place to eat. They are a little pricey as expected in this part of town. I personally felt that the amount of food I got for what i paid was not adequate; I could have eaten more. But the food was good. I got the salmon. I just didn't realize the ingredients of jambalaya; I wonder if it could have been ordered without sausage? The staff are all very nice. The wait for the food wasn't too bad.

Had their half pound burger with cheddar cheese. Very tasty and convenient to my hotel, Menger Hotel.

We visited Pat O'Brien's on a Sunday night during Memorial Day weekend. The host had us seated immediately. The waitress was very pleasant. Drinks and food came out fast and were very good. There was even live entertainment as a duo played mostly 50's - 70's music accompanied by a piano and guitar. Overall we had a very enjoyable visit.

The live music, food and service was incredible. I’ve never met such an attentive waiter as Xavier. If you ever in San Antonio you must come to this spot you will not regret it!

We had a couple beers here. The main bar as you walk in is a bit tight. Good beer. Didn't partake of any food. The real treat came walking through before leaving, the place is cavernous, had to have at least 4 seperate areas, and three different types of music taking place in the various areas. On surface, a decent bar, may be worth exploring further.

This was our last day on trip and we were a little tired of Mexican food. So gave this a try. We had just left the Alamo and maybe it was an odd hour, not sure. There was only one other table besides us. Food was just okay. Server seemed out of sorts. She had a trainee with her, and seemed to take forever to get back to us. Especially when we were ready to leave. Not good.

They try to give it a NOLA feeling, and the garden seating area with entertainment was a nice place to have a nite cap. Music was pretty load if you wanted to hold a conversation, and there was plenty of street noise from the street in back. Service was spot on. Did not go to the inside bar, so can offer no comments.

We love Pat O' brians ! They food is very good and reasonably priced ! The service is always good as well.

Stopped in for lunch after just completing our city bus tour & being in the downtown area we decided to grab a quick bite to eat. Too cool this day to enjoy sitting on the patio so sat inside along the bar area. Our waitress was Nico, who greeted us & was pleasant to take or orders & provide service for drinks. Our orders the Muffaletta cold meat sandwich & burger & fries were very good & reasonably priced. Beer was cold served in a nice chilled glass. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere & the food quality. Would recommend to anyone needing a quick place to go while in the downtown area.

This is a great place to kick back and relax. They have a good food selection and drink selection. Employees were all very friendly.

We were in San Antonio for business and had a couple of free evenings. Found Pat O'Brien's and decided to give it a try. Food was good, service was fair, and the entertainment on the patio was fun. I'd recommend getting off the river walk (just a block) to give this place a visit.

This is the only other Pat O'Briens outside New Orleans. It remains the home of the True Hurricane Cocktail and authentic Creole & Cajun dishes from New Orleans

Tipped and didnt get my request. Everything else was good tho. Hurricanes and very clean and good service.

I have a soft spot for Pat O’Briens as I lived near NO many years ago and loved Pat O’s. I came to San Antonio the year Pat O’s opened up and enjoyed my time. On our recent trip (I’m sitting in the bar) we have ended up here for the second time. It was really quiet on a Wednesday night, no food but great hurricanes. We really enjoyed Quest, our bartender, who was friendly and helpful. We are back on a Friday night, enjoying our Hurricane again. My husband likes them because they aren’t super sweet. It’s an old bar with many fond memories. They even have the piano bar up and hopping on weekends.

This restaurant had a fun, festive atmosphere with a live band and great service. The food was not extraordinary, but it was decent. The service from our waiter made up for it because he was very fast and friendly.

Ordered a mint julep and a mai tai. Got a watery mai tai and a mojito. The Pat'O Briens in New Orleans would be mortified.

Service is poor to the point of being non-existent. Noisy and so loud that at times it is difficult to understand anyone even if they are speaking 2 or 3 inches from your ear. Maybe it's a sign of the times but it's nothing like the New Orleans version. We won't be back.

Service was just OK. Nice decore. Large portions of good food. Restroom was not well marked - or I didn't see it. Food was spicy.

Had previously visited this bar in New Orleans...just as good on my opinion...It was St Patrick's day and the atmosphere was awesome...live music...hurricanes...& good staff...bathrooms are clean...lovely outdoor area...we had a ball

I didn't go to Pat O'briens when in New Orleans but went at the suggestion of our driver, who is from the Big Easy. It was on the same street as our Hyatt Hotel. The omelette with crawfish was very good and my wife enjoyed her Shrimp Po'Boy. Prices were good too.

Stopped in for a quick bite after arriving in San Antonio and was blown away. They had live music, friendly staff who offered good suggestions for dining/drinks, and the food was delicious.

We were out late looking for a little night time fun. We happened upon Pat O'Brien about midnight. The music was loud and lured us in (there was no cover on this Wed night). Once inside, we found that there were three different music venues inside one spot. In the back was a piano bar, the main area had a 'juke box', and upstairs was a live Dj. Drink prices were good and we stayed until 'last call' and had a great time.

Stopped in for a quick bite during a conference lunch break, found my muffaletta to be a little boring. Olive dressing could've been a little more vinegary and lacked the 'twang' i'm normally looking for. Bread was a little dry, but the meats and cheeses were good quality. I dunno...maybe I got spoiled from working in coastal Louisiana for half a decade, but I'd expect more when it comes to a cajun staple at a decidedly cajun establishment. This place is probably better for nightlife, but you can do much better for lunch, even if you're in a hurry.

We didn't actually eat here, but wandered in because there was so much energy coming from their bar. The place was packed almost any time of day we walked by with people singing and laughing. Great for a fun atmosphere.

We had been walking around the city and decided to pop in for a cool drink and a quick bite. Jose' seated us and got a Hurricane for my wife and a Shiner Bock for me. We both had shrimp dishes which were fabulous. I especially enjoyed the dipping sauce with the coconut shrimp. Great service and they brought the NOLA vibe from Louisiana.

We dropped in expecting an Irish pub, based on the name. The menu is all Cajun and Louisiana fare. We had the appetizer platter, which consisted of alligator bites, catfish strips, Bloody Mary hot wings and shrimp. Everything was good. I especially enjoyed dining in the courtyard. We went in the middle of the day, so I can't speak to the evening entertainment.

The piano bar is so much fun. The wait staff are awesome! There Hurricane's are strong but great! Must experience for yourself.

The Hurricane Cocktails and dueling pianos made the perfect place for us to let loose and have some fun. After just a few Hurricanes we found ourselves hands in the air singing along with the whole room. Hank, why do you drink?... I wanna get Drunk! Why do you roll smoke?... I wanna get Stoned! Why must you live out the songs that you wrote? ... I wanna get Laid! Of course, it was all so clear to me now. These questions had haunted me for years. Suddenly I understood. I think not long after I actually Forgot the Alamo. I'm not sure. Anyway, we had a great time and will definitely be back.

We love going to Pat O'Briens. Every time we come to San Antonio this is a definite spot. The crawfish nachos are a MUST have.

While in town for a conference, we went by for a light meal and a drink. The burger was very good, and the service was good. It was what I expected;

On a recent visit to San Antonio visited Pat O’Brien’s mainly as it was the first place we came across to escape a sudden heavy rain shower. On entering it was very busy with people eating as well as with locals watching baseball on the TV. Did not eat but decided to have a cocktail whilst sat at the bar. Prices of cocktails were typical of chain bars/restaurants (between $8-$12). Both cocktails that we have had were nice. The female server behind the bar made our visit great (sorry can’t remember her name) and we chatted with her for most of our time there. She is an asset to the bar. If walking past would recommend popping in for a drink but would not recommend going out of your way to visit.

Honestly, it's nothing special, or at least no more than the Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans. They served hurricanes prepared perfectly and good bar food.

We came to this place to get out of the heat and get a few cool drinks. It's not a huge place but it was definitely fun. They had a wide selection of alcohol drinks and we took turns sampling each others drinks. They also had a live bank that was playing oldies. Before we knew it we had spend 3 hours in there with drinks and music. It's definitely a fun place to spend the afternoon. Could use more fans to circulate the air but we are making plans to visit it again. One of the places you have to see if you come to the RiverWalk.

Don’t go here thinking this is going to be a taste of New Orleans but the fish is good and gator is better than other places. The drinks are watered down so just get a beer. The service was excellent tho and I really enjoyed this place. Live entertainment is great too. I would definitely return.

Atmosphere is happy . People are cool ! Great drinks !! Just a fun place but not as good as New Orleans

We have been to this Pat O'brien's several times. It has a nice patio and the hurricanes are great on hot summer night. This past Saturday was so different. First we were redirected around to the backside entrance. You can't access it from the Alamo side. They were asking for cover charge which was new. The music was lousy and loud.

Couldn't tell if we should seat ourselves or wait; sat outside and the water in flames was beautiful. The singer made it noisy so it was difficult to converse. Ordering went well, waiter was attentive, food was good with fair sized portions.

My daughter had her wedding reception here. The atmosphere was excellent, the food was amazing and I would recommend this place to anybody!

Nice bar with a good selection of drinks. Live music, good entertainment. Very friendly waiting staff. Good beer selection

Here for a business event. Had a private room upstairs which was beyond beautiful: amazing architecture, large baseboards, unique piano, textured walls, crown molding, etc. The staff was so friendly. There were several appetizers, and an open bar which made everyone happy especially with the hurricanes. Downstairs, there was an open courtyard with tables and they had a musician playing. It was so nice!!!!!!! It just seemed a bit odd to have a New Orleans bar in San Antonio but it was really nice.

Just across from the Alamo is San Antonio’s franchise of this New Orleans institution famous for dueling pianos and creation of the hurricane cocktail (served in a souvenir glass) in the 1940s. The menu, as you might expect, focuses on Cajun, Creole and N’awlins specialties (think muffaletta and Po’Boy sandwiches, jambalaya, crawfish etouffe, shrimp and grits and beignets). Tip: You can purchase a coupon good for up to $20 worth of food for $10 through the Dining Advantage program.

This is fashioned after the Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans. The food is good and the drinks are better:). It is just off of the Riverwalk and has live music in the evenings.

Half price appetisers are always tempting but these were freshly cooked and tasty. We enjoyed fried alligator, fried catfish and pina colada shrimp. Generation gap playing oldies on the patio were good too.

The bar makes divine adult beverages, you can get non-alcoholic versions as well. We love the New Orleans location, so we decided to give this one a try. We had Muffaletta and Shrimp Pasta, with salad. The food was delicious and our server, Aminda was awesome.

I'm sure in its day this place was a cool spot and I'd love to see the owners put some money into fixing / cleaning the place up. Just outside the river walk, Pat O'Brien's has the potential to be great again. A good entertainment/band and dance spot. The food and drinks are suspect: I literally watched the ceiling above the bar leak right into the drinks being made and served. The floors, tables, broken chairs are sticky/dirty and the severs used dirty rags to re-wash them. If the main restaurant is filthy, I don't want to see the kitchen. I chose not to eat, although the food being served to others looked decent. Use caution until they clean this place up.

I enjoyed my visit here, but it could have been better. My co-worker asked for no onions. They said they can't do that cuz they're pre-portioned, but he can pick them off if he wants. He ended up not eating at all. I got the sampler platter as my meal. I LOVED the gator bites. Best ever! Not at all chewy. Great atmosphere and entertainment.

We purchased a Brunch Crawl on Event Brite that was to begin at Pat O’s and had their phone number listed. We arrived at 11am, the start time, to find the front door unlocked, but the restaurant/bar closed and being cleaned. Initially the manager on duty told us that there was no event scheduled; then tried to tell us sometimes this happens with 3rd parties; and finally told us an employee who “went Rouge” planned the event for the business and that we would be refunded. As of today, no refund has been posted and we spent $15 to park that will be a loss. Someone named “Ryan Dandy” responded to an email I sent the organizer wanting to know why the event was canceled. He blamed your restaurant on problems on New Years Eve with food and service. All in all a very poor reflection on Pat O’s.

We stopped in for a bite to eat with our friends and we were happy we did. The staff was very attentive. The Hurricane was an excellent choice and food was great. Our friends had the Muffeta sandwich and Gumbo. We had the Burger Sandwich n fries. Recommend you try out this restaurant. 👍🏻

Lucky to walk in and find a place at the bar. The servers were great, the live music was fun and the people watching went well.

If you are thinking of Pat O'brien's for a night out this is the place! Piano bar with funny and live music. Great drinks! Watch out the staff is a little touchy when it comes to ID's so make sure you take proof of age!

A really neat restaurant in the San Antonio area. I was a little skeptical at first because I thought this was just a bar, but it turns out it’s an actual restaurant, too. The food here is delicious. The burger I had was juicy and the fries were amazing. Good atmosphere as well. I would recommend this place to anyone in the San Antonio area.

Stopped by after visiting the Alamo for some drinks, had the Pat O's Lemonade along with some other drinks with our party of 9. The drinks were very good, the waitress was nice, and they also had some live musicians which were great! We all had a great time and will be back again to taste the food also!

We went to Pat O'brien's twice while on vacation in San Antonio. If you want a good, strong drink the Hurricane is your choice. We also got the drink sampler, which was fun but not a great deal. There were 4 of us, and each glass had enough in it for a small sip each. Would have been better if they cut down on the ice!

Right near The Alamo and a truly fun place. People were drinking those Hurricane's like crazy -- and loving them. We ate it all back and loved every bite. So much to choose from and it's all good. Thank you, Priscilla!

stopped in for a quick appy and a beer. Staff was very good and attentive. Would recommend trying the gator bites.

They advertise entertainment but make sure you check on line first! Limited to certain nights. No paining just guitarist with equipment. The service was slow and the food was just ok restaurant off Riverwalk very small bar area but good outdoor seating.

Not great really... the place is not really kept up.. the waitress was very nice though. We sat on the patio, that was good... the bathroom was dirty and not well maintained. The food was so so. Nothing special really.

Early Sunday evening visit. Food was mediocre. Music was only loud. Musicians were less than adequate this round. Disappointing visit.

We always go to Pat O'Brians for drinks and some live music on the patio during the day. The patio is great, with a flaming fountain, lots of tables, and great service. We usually find a Groupon deal. I had the burger, and it was very good. They also make an awesome mixed drink. I asked for a non alcoholic Hurricane when I didn't feel like getting tipsy, and the fruit version was delicious as well! The only reason I didn't give then 5 stars is because most of the menu is SPICY...and I don't care for spicy food. But I love the atmosphere, the drinks, and the BREAD PUDDING!

We went with a few work friends and I was not impressed. The music was loud outside and also inside. Our waitress was nice but the food was terrible. The "famous" hurricane drinks were good. The thing that made us leave the restaraunt was the man playing the piano. His entertainment started out comical but quickly turned raunchy. I was uncomfortable with his "take" on songs. It became very X rated for 4:00 in the afternoon. If you really want to visit a Pat O'Briens...wait for New Orleans.

We had Lunch at Pat O Brien's and some drinks. I did feel that the place needed a cleaning. We had the Hurricane and the Pat O Briens cyclone drinks and that was very good! We also had burgers and fries.

First time at this restaurant, really friendly staff. Bartenders were very knowledgeable making drinks as well explaining us the house specialty drinks. Food like gumbo, jambalaya and shrimp creole were better than expected. Server was attentive and gave us an excellent service.

Love the live music Sunday brunch and mimosas! The gumbo was great too. Casual relaxed atmosphere and the open air dining was what we were looking for. Almost walked by it but heard the guy playing guitar and singing and decided to stop! Glad we did might be back for happy hour!

always visit when in san antonio love the piano bar and the hurricanes if you looking for casual no dress code and dont mind the college crowd this is the place wife and i had a great time again service is always good and good news is we were not the only 40 year olds in the crowd

It's not New Orleans but it is goon. A very good happy hour. Nice bar food with some very good surprises. A good crowd and good entertainment.

Went to experience the original hurricane drink first served in Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans. Great drink! Split a table full of happy hour priced appetizers. The chicken wings a d Cancun shrimp were the best. Well worth stopping in.

Nice place in downtown, the ambiance is fun. Crews are very friendly. American food and cajun food (poboy) There are live music tonight It is very close to the Alamo fort

With a name like Pat O'Brien's, we were expecting an Irish Pub, but we decided to stay when we discovered the Cajun/Creole menu. We were pleasantly surprised by amazing food for outstanding lunch prices. There was live music on the patio, and they entertaining and very engaged with the crowd. Great service, great food, and a great price!

Nice place. Very good drink drinks and bar food choices. The entertainment was good and not too loud. Went back after 2years and it was still great.

Located diagonally from The Alamo, Pat O’Brien’s San Antonio offers the look and feel of the New Orleans original. Food is great, drinks are even better. Have a seat in the courtyard and enjoy a hurricane. Souvenir glasses can be purchased, as can the hurricane mix and other goodies. There is very limited indoor seating during the day (just FYI in case it’s hot like it was during my visit).

Pulled in to try their famous hurricane, and it did not disappoint. We were there a little before lunch to avoid any crowd, and order some gator bites, which were also good. If anything go get a hurricane!

We were there on a Thursday night so things were slow but picking up. The live music was good, the food delicious and the server incredible Try the signature drink and the nachos!

One of the piano players was vulgar and somewhat obnoxious to audience members during the dueling piano set this weekend. He looked a bit like Harry Connick Junior. My group headed to the nearby Howl at the Moon for more piano fun. Usually Pat's is a good time.

We stopped in after completing the hop on hop off bus tour Trish provide excellent and friendly service. The duo providing entertainment were talented and played a great variety of songs.

We were here to get alligator nuggets for youngest, as he had them when we were in LA. They were actually half off for happy hour !! So we also got coconut shrimp which is another fav of our family. Solid red beans & rice, jumbalaya & catfish. GREAT bread pudding & chocolate cake slab

Had my last meal of a two week stay at Pat O’Brien’s. had their world famous Hurricane, which is a great drink. Meals were fantastic. Staff was super friendly. Atmosphere was good.

As a frequent visitor to New Orleans, I was very familiar with Pat O'Briens, but mostly thought of it as a party off Bourbon kind of place with big drinks and Big Easy music. I never thought much about eating there. When I saw P.O.B. on Alamo Plaza, KI decided to go in. Glad I did. Food was very good and quite reasonably priced (1/2 lb burger with fries for under $10.00). Twice during my stay I ordered the New Orleans Trinity - a cup of Gumbo Ya-Ya, a cup of jambalaya, and a cup of Red Beans & Rice. All were tasty but the RB&R didn't quite measure up to the taste of the same dish in NOLA. I'm not sure they use Camellia Brand beans here like they all do in NOLA. Definitely a regular stop on my future visits to San Antonio.

Obriens was awesome that hurricane drink was no joke but it was so worth the headache the next day. The band Generation Gap was great father and son had us jamming.

Just off the Riverwalk, (by like 1 block) this place has a great patio for dinning. Food was good. Husband got the jambalaya that had a weird spice in it I could identify. He ate it all, but I could not eat the scoop that was on my plate. Had a discount coupon - and service was fantastic! I had the grilled catfish - which was a bit undercooked on one side due to thickness - but perfect on the other end. I'd go back.

Cajin food of all kinds makes this an interesting and unexpected treat just off the Riverwalk. The red beans and rice have a nice spicy sausage and the muffuletta is huge and full of flavor.

Even though it does not have a view of the Riverwalk, it was worth it because the food was that good. Shrimp cooked to perfection. Drinks nice and strong. Absolutely no complaints! Check for a Groupon!

Being on the main road in Downtown SA this is a place you have to go. First off, the center court is great. I love the outside style tables and the way it is centered. The wait staff is awesome and the flood was so rich and full of that southern border flavor that I expect.

We were in town for a few days, we did not eat here. We did enjoy the dueling pianos, live music, and DJ areas. Drinks were reasonable and a fun atmosphere.

My husband and I found this bar after visiting the illusion exhibit and wax museum. We were thirsty. We found this gem, had a few beers, and there just so happen to be a couple setting up to play some live music. The vibe was on point and the energy was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed it very much!

We enjoyed the dueling piano bar so much we stayed an extra night to return, a shout out to the main piano player/entertainer Greg/Gregory P.S. thanks for 2 memorable fun nights and your hospitality, greatly needed and enjoyed and appreciated!! Great must see entertaining piano bar while in Riverwalk area of San Antonio.

We stopped in here because I knew of the name from New Orleans. We decided not to sit in the main room because they had live music which was VERY loud. There was a nice table in the bar, which was fine. Enjoyed drinks, with a very attentive and nice server. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food.

Went to one in New Orleans so when we saw this we had to go. Different time of day called for a muffalatta. OMG...What a sandwich? Great music all the time. Great serve staff. Cajun food that will make your socks drop. You can't go wrong here.

Loved the night we spent here, the live music was excellent, we all sang and loved the time! The service team were on the ball, fast and attentive, and always ready with a joke or funny statement.

We had not been here n a few years, bartenders all were great and fun. They have live music in the evening which is nice. Their Hurricanes are good as always. We went there every night for a few drinks. We will return as we were really treated like we were locals.

Didn’t have both pianos like New Orleans but Greg was great. Hurricanes were good, jambalaya was good.! We got there at 4:30 music starts at 5 on Saturday. I would recommend 6 ish. A lot of fun

My husband and I had dinner here while visiting San Antonio, Texas. Our entrees were pricey and very bland. My lemonade was watered down! Both the Ladies Room and the Mens Room were disgustingly dirty. We found it interesting that they advertise doing weddings and other events at this restaurant. Don't know who would plan a banquet there with those gross bathrooms!

From LA and was excited to see Pat O's. Was not disappointed. Have to try the sampler if you're not sure what you in the mood for. Had a great time with the waiter and later in the piano bar.

This place is a super cool dive bar with great live music! The happy hour beers were incredibly cheap, the service was pretty slow which is the reason it garnered a 4 star review.

It's a great location and they have a lovely patio with good service, but each time I've been there the live music was too loud for anyone wanting to have a conversation. I've eaten there twice and both times the food was barely average. I would go back, but only for a drink and to listen to music.

For the atmosphere not food or drink Music ok but entertaining Food is a0 Service good Something fun downtown

Went for supper. A small room, but others available for groups or can sit on patio. Sounds like it should be Irish food but is New Orleans Cajun. Our server Priscilla was by herself at first but very efficient in getting our drinks and food. Started with a Shiner Bock beer 3.75 and a Hurricane drink 9. Appie of alligator bites with a dip 6.50. Doesn’t everything taste like chicken? We’d have again. My wife had the blackened catfish 16.95 and pronounced it excellent. I had the New Orleans Trinity 10.95. Rice with different sauces. Not enjoyable at all. Try something else. Table next to us had the happy hour shrimp. They said it was excellent. Bread pudding for dessert 6.95; my wife said excellent. My dessert was 2 sizeable shots of bourbon for only 3.75 ea. Recommended.

Great atmosphere with live music. Staff was extremely friendly even though we were a very large group. Service was quick and with a smile.
Happy Hour apps and drinks
We stopped in for a quick drink after work and were greeted with half price appetizers! We jumped on the alligator bites and coconut shrimp and both were excellent. Their full range of drinks were reasonably priced, and the service was great. We'd go back for more.
