We visited this restaurant because it was in walking distance to a hotel we were given due to a bumped flight at Miami Airport. Were we happy! Great food, great service, friendly people. I tried the chicken fajitas and the seasoning was wonderful. Plantains, beans, mixed veggies and rice were tasty. Cheese plate appetizer was yummy. Plus they were playing fun and lovely music!

I went for a quick bite. They were fast and polite but my head has pounding by the time I finshed. They had a DJ who is obviously deaf. It had to be in the jet engine range for noise level. There is no way to have a conversation. That is a shame because the food was excellent. I had a taco off the Honduran side of the menu. Excellently spiced. The hot spiced vegetables they served with it were real good too.

Called in for a couple of drinks 2 double whiskys each after having a really good indians next door i would of had a few more but i was charged $97+ for them we had a meal each + 5 whiskys next door and the check was $65 ? Absolute rip off im here for 2 weeks and i wont be going back there at all their loss

I was in need of a quick fix before my flight and found this little gem. Great honduran food, good flavor, good spice mix, all around a good little spot. Stop if your near

Great service. Good food for the money. It is basically Mexican. We had a salad and beef faittas. The server was very nice, but English wasn't her first language. The other patrons were very nice too.

Great service, great food!! Gracias!!! I will always tell folks to go there and recommend this establishment!!! The homemade tortillas are like being home!!!

The food was very good and though drink selection was limited the drinks we got good. The only problem was the help didn't speak good English nor was the menu in good English but luckily I had a friend that spoke Spanish! Food was good and plentiful.

We were staying nearby at an airport hotel, and this was recommended. It was a short walk. The food was good, though I found the meat a bit tough. The servers were lovely. The atmosphere can best be described as a bar. The downside was the very loud music and the very happy and loud patrons enjoying the karaoke..we really couldn't hear each other.

this restaurant is just across the street from Runaway hotel in miami, the food is great especially the bistec encebollado (steak in onion)

We stayed one night in Miami so we can fly out the next morning. We didnt eat at the hotel due to the bad experiences of other guests and the price was too high. We opted to go somewhere close by and to try something different. I never had food from Honduras so we picked that one. The taxi driver did not recoomend it, but we ignored him and still were dropped off there. We walked in and it was lively...nice bar selection...and staff was great and accomodating. It was karaoke night. There was a family celebrating a birthday. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent! I recommend it.

We had lunch at this Honduran restaurant Feb 16, 2019. It is about a 5 minute walk from the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North. We had hoped to order sandwiches but were informed that they had no bread, so they could not provide sandwiches on the menu. Overall, the food we did order was good, along with the Honduran beer but the service was slow. The server seemed to be the only person taking care of the customers. So, if you’re patient then go, otherwise don’t.

We each had the baleadas... I had the "Super" one with steak and everything else... Amazing! The thing was HUGE! And very good... For $7.50 you can't beat it. I also had a mango shake that was delicious. My uncle had the chicken with rice and beans... Huge portion. This is a good place. Not much to look at from the outside. But don't let the looks fool you.

OK, so, I've been wanting to try this place for a while now having spent a lot of time in Honduras. I finally got my chance the other day. The reviews are mixed but I gave it a shot. The first thing you notice is the noise. I have to agree with previous reviewers that the music is way too loud. I went at 7pm on a Thursday and while the place was pretty much empty, the music was cranked way up. It was also extremely dark. On the bright side, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The waitress was very helpful and helped me pick a delicious dish, the Ceiba steak. It was really tasty but the meat was a bit tough. And, there was relatively little meat in comparison to the plantain chips and lettuce. I won't lie. I ate every bite! So, would I go back? Maybe. The irony is that previous reviewers were looking for an "authentic" Latin experience. This really is it! Loud, inexpensive but good food (though not top quality)

Nice food, horrible karoake and very little english speaking.

In all fairness, we were looking for typical Americanized Mexican food and this was probably more authentic. One of our dishes has a golf-ball sized chicken bone/part in it, which made my daughter lose her appetite. There was karaoke going and the place was packed with what looked like locals, so it's obviously a very popular spot. Just not what we were looking for.

I'm a foodie. I took a quiz and my results: 90 percent or higher? You're a culinary connoisseur! You really know your stuff when it comes to dining out, and you know your way around a kitchen, too. You're probably pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new dishes. Hopefully you share your wealth of foodie knowledge with friends and family! I've never tried Honduran cuisine and this restaurant was recommended highly, by all the Latinos we encountered. I am so glad we went. We shared a Honduran fried chicken plate and a stewed beef plate. The portions were large and we thought that we would need a doggy bag. It was so good we almost cleaned our plates. We also had a drink that was made with a fruit named NANCE (which is my maiden name). It was delicious. We were surprised when we got the check and it was under $30. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any "foodie" and I will be returning if I am ever in the area again.

My husband and I decided to talk a walk over this place because we were staying at the comfort inn, and after a nap we were very hungry. We got to this place and at first, you are kinda nervous to enter. We were greeted and we asked if we could sit anywhere. We sat at a booth and were quickly met by a young waiter. He was polite and seemed to have a slight accent. This place prides itself on being a Honduras restaurant and karaoke bar. I ordered the beef fajitas and my husband got the chicken fajitas. The food was good, there was our chosen mat on top of 2 pieces of lettuce, plenty of peppers and onion, we had a cup of rice, refried beans and a bowl of warm tortillas. There was also a thick slice of white cheese, which was a little salty. But the whole thing was delicious. The staff seemed to genuinely like their jobs, they were socializing but they never forgot about us. We were checked on about 4 times. Which for me is plenty. I and not a fan of being bugged, but I don’t like to be forgetting either. It seemed like we were the first customers of the night because they were just starting to set up the karaoke.

wanted something the locals would eat. got it at this place. the place was full of locals watching a soccer game and drinking & eating. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food

Perhaps it's authentic, but it's definitely not what I expected. I ordered the BBQ Spare Rib dish, which was photographed as whole ribs with a rich brown sauce. It looked divine and I thought I would get to experience good Honduran BBQ. Instead, I received extremely dry short ribs, with no sauce, and some soggy overcooked mixed vegetables. The restaurant is nice and clean, the servers were nice. The best part of the meal was my juice. Not sure what authentic Honduran food should taste like, but this place wasn't the place to experience to have it. Parking is a hassle too. Keep moving, save your money.

Restaurant was very clean and waitress was very good. If you like Mexican/Honduras this is a restaurant for you.

The restaurant was very small, and toward the end of dinner there was bad karaoke music, but the food was great

This is an inexpensive homecooked type of restaurant. The expectation is a flavourful meal with little ambiance. This is the place when you want cheap ethnic food from honduras. we will again eat here.

Music was loud, but food was SOO good and definitely authentic. I don't write many reviews but I really enjoyed this little hide away. Highly recommended!!!

Disclaimer: I've never had Honduran food before so I have nothing but this experience to base this review on. Pretty sure I was the only non-Spanish speaker in the restaurant. Since I was leaving for Costa Rica the following day, this was a nice transition. Decor: fairly simple, nothing really stands out. Ample seating. Bar: well stocked with the usual domestics, a couple Honduran beers, and a plethora of liquors. Comfortable stools. Entertainment: Several nice TVs placed well around the restaurant and bar. Digital jukebox. Also, they have karaoke if that's your jam. Bartenders: 2 on duty. One just kinda scowled at me any time we made eye contact. The other, who waited on me, was helpful when I was ordering and suggested a tasty Honduran beer. She was very busy waiting tables as well so she wasn't overly attentive. Food: I dramatically underestimated the size of Honduran portions. I had Balesdas, Pupusas, and Tacos. All listed as appetizers...each one was the size of an entrée. I don't know how a Honduran would review the tastes, but I was satisfied. The tacos (chicken) were my favorite, which is typical when tacos are up against most other foods. They were more like huge taquitos and delicious. The 2 national dishes were good but not overwhelming in terms of taste. I'd switch up the fillings I got and give them another shot. Note: I guess Honduran salsa is more like a slaw...who knew? Beers: Barena had a funky smell and a slightly sweet taste. I was a big fan. Port Royal was as boring as any basic American Pilsner. Prices: most appetizers were $4-8 and entrées $8-13. Beers were $4 for the Honduran brews. Definitely satisfied with the value. Overall, I was quite pleased with my meal despite not being able to eat all of it (hopray leftovers!) and the conversation had with another patron (a local). There is room for improvement in terms of service, but it was fairly busy on a rainy, Saturday afternoon.

I order tortillas first they over charge me I dint fight for 3$ but when I got home the tortillas were no cook horrible look very bad I had to go to eat some where else and pay again , I call back and no one answer what type of service is that ,

Don't judge it by the exterior. It's nice inside, great Latin atmosphere & background music, plus terrific food. Anything you order will be fresh, tasty, and made with passionate care. I'll be back.

Wonderful surprise. Lovely people. Delicious food. Generous portions. Great price. The pork chops were done to perfection. Rice and plantains a perfect compliment

The food here was fabulous! We really liked the choice of sides accompanying our main selection. We had two different shrimp dishes, chicken fajitas and sides of fried plantains, rice and beans, and sausage. All was tasty! It was a little noisy here and hard to hear if you are trying to have a conversation.

Very friendly staff, great food, good prices. Is two blocks east of Comfort Suites, if you are staying there.

Visit this place, if you want delicious food at a good price. They served a great Cuban and the beers were cold.

Went there at 8pm and the music scored in. At 120 DB at most. The waitresses couldn’t hear you, and for some food it’s not good

We were staying at the hotel across the street, and they recommended this small place for an inexpensive meal. The food was quite good and the price reasonable. We were the only Anglos there, which probably says something about its authenticity.

Very expensive , food this tipe is half the price in el gallito restaurant and coffee and better taste. Gallito is located in 8 ave and 3street sw. So dont even spend your money there. Manager sucks harry balls dont goooooo

So, I ordered the "Cuban Sandwich." I was very large; I definitely did not go hungry. But, the cuisine is authentically Honduran, just like I enjoyed while in Honduras. The Patio Tipico is quiet in the afternoon, but it could be overwhelming at night when the live music is blasting. The Patio Tipico may not be a place to drive across town in search of, but it is a great place for a filling Central American meal if your staying close to the airport.

We enjoyed our lunch at Patio Tipico. Servers were friendly, food was tasty! Two in our group ordered fajitas, one ordered seafood soup and I had grilled shrimp (photo). We would definitely go there again.

My family, friends and I were recommended this restaurant. Staff was lovely and very kind, I had beef fajitas and it was delicious. If you're a football fan (or as American say soccer fan) in this restaurant they have a large TV, and they broadcast South American football (Qualifying for Russia World cup). We watched there: Ecuador-Bolivia and Colombia-Uruguay with a couple of beers!!! Live music is played every night, a great place if you enjoy Honduran food!

We (two families with three kids under 10) were staying at the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North pre-cruise and walked down the street and decided to try this place on a whim. We love all foods and were not disappointed! We got a variety of foods that the staff recommended to us and we had a great time!

Walked in here for a quick bite one night while waiting to go on a cruise the following morning. They had Latin music blasting as if it was a club (and part of the atmosphere as well). With some locals at the bar and only a few restaurant patrons, this was completely unnecessary. I ordered two each of three different items assuming they were small portions due to the prices. We only ate one each of one dish, sent one back completely untouched and did not eat the third because it tasted awful. We told the waitress and she acted like she didn't understand. Hence we were charged full price for everything and so we literally bought the kitchen staff their meal. I'd never return here. The two circle rating is only because the prices are overall reasonable.

Patio Tipico Restaurant not rated high to me.Patio Tipico Restaurant is not testy and like food. This i do not feel good and real test not find

Driven by a million times, looked in the window after going to the Indian place across the lot and it looked clean so we decided to try it, very pleased. First thing that jumps out is cleanliness. Everything including the restroom is very clean. Food is typical Meso-American fare. We had tacos(crispy) and pupusa, like a version of quesadilla. I was very happy with food and service.Entertainment which started around 8:30 was interesting. I'll be back to try some of the many other menu choices.

We weren't quite sure to go here after reading some of the reviews. We were glad that we did. The staff answered our questions about the menu items and helped us pick dishes. The portions are large so don't over order as we did. Beleadas are pretty much a meal in themselves. Cafe con Leche topped off the meal and the price was very reasonable. Very authentic. We liked it so much we went both nights while in the area.

The visit was actually in February 2011. We were on our way to our Jamaica-Haiti Cruise via but had a day extra. So instead of staying in the city, we decided to put up in Miami Springs instead. Stayed in the adjoining Miami Springs Inn and had great food at this place. Late at night, the atmosphere gets a bit too cosy and may not be perfect for a family outing. The music that could be heard even outside was superb. So went there the next afternoon. The Central American Food here was simply great. For the first time realised that 'Soups' can be served with rice and a meal in itself... and the Honduras dishes were superb.

Great authentic Honduran food. Large menu, many selections. Does not look inviting on the outside but much better on the inside. Worth a stop here.

Great portions and service but darn it was loud music blaring. very easy to get to outdoor seating closed at 9 pm so we were bummed

Both the Sandwich Cubano and Ensalada Cesar with Pollo were excellent! The outside of the building was a little rough looking. A nearby hotel employee told us the food was very good and was only a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We were very happy with his recommendation and would not hesitate to return.

This place has a strong character: better if you speak at least a little Spanish to capture the full atmosphere. If you are lucky, you might find a live music band as well. Good typical food, friendly staff, reasonable prices!
Great Honduran food
I came here the first night in the area from my hotel to eat and was very pleased with the food! It is authentic Honduran food with a lot of taste. I had tajadas de maduro, queso crema e frijoles-sweet plantain, cream cheese and beans and pastelitos de carne-small beef turnovers. Boy were they good! The outside looks quite run down, but that means nothing here. The workers are very nice and prices reasonable. This was the type of place I was looking for in Miami-not the most popular, but the best food!
