Patria Cocina is a wonderful spot in the Grant Park district which is sure to please the discerning al fresco dining fans. It has a beautiful patio area complete with a small area for lounge seating. The food is wonderful and the drinks even better. I was there on 10/22/22 when the restaurant was celebrating its 4th Anniversary. They offered a special frozen drink called the Dona Barbara and it was truly unique. A blackberry and blueberry margarita made with tequila and mezcal. It had a smokey, yet sweetness with just the right amount of fruit flavor. Be sure to call for a reservation and don't let Google reservations discourage you. It will always show that there is no availability but if you call in with reasonable notice, you will probably have a better shot.

This restaurant has the best Mexican Food! The staff is amazing and very professional. They make you feel special. They focus on the quality of their food, presentation, unique flavors, attention to detail, cooking techniques. My overall dining experience was a 10 star rating.

I was there in October 2021 with my family, it was the restaurant 3rd anniversary and they celebrate big, with mariachis, dia de muertos decorations, including beautiful Catrina, and many other attractions, but the best part is the high quality dishes and the authentic on them, the real Mexican flavor, and it is because the owners are the Chefs, high cuisine skills and very engaging, from Jalisco and Michoacan, you can identify those flavors in the menu. You get a great value for the experience, food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended to visit.

This development in Grant Park is nice, and Patria Cocina fits right in. They have a large menu, and everything I have tried has been good. The cocktail selection is also fun, and the service is spot on.

The mole tostadas are everything, but if you’re a salmon fan you can’t go wrong with that either. Excellent guac, fun atmosphere especially outdoors. Located on the SE Beltline.

Since they moved from Moreland Ave. to the Beacon, and rebranded themselves as Patria Cocina, they have grown a lot. Their food was good before now it is absolutely amazing. We just had my wife's birthday gathering there last night for 12 people. They took great care of us. All our food came out hot and within 2 minutes of each other. They have a good selection of artisan margaritas.

We finally made it over to Patria Cocina for lunch. It’s in a nice new building that is very comfortable. There is parking, but I imagine on busier days the lot may fill up quickly as there are few new businesses that occupy the space. They have a lunch menu Monday through Friday, but you can also order off the regular menu. We started with an order of the Charred Tomato Salsa and a half order of Guacamole. I really like that they offer the half order size as a full order would have been way too much. I like their salsa. Its not too hot but has a good flavor. The guacamole was very good. Their chips are good a bit thicker than some other places around town which I enjoy. For lunch I went with two street tacos in flour tortilla’s. I opted for the Chorizo and Carnitas. Both were good. I think the Chorizo is one of my favorite chorizo’s in town. My wife got one of the lunch combo’s that had a taco burrito and enchilada. She enjoyed all three. The enchilada sauce was distinctive and good. They have lots of margaritas, beer and tequila with a great bar area. With it being lunch we did not partake but it sure looked fun. The elephant in the room is and always will be that its not El Mexicano, but that is okay. This is a different restaurant with similar dishes but your better off going to it with an open mind and viewing it as a new spot that just happens to have some of your old favorites. The prices seem to have gone up some, but that is to be expected in their fancy new building. I’ll be happy to go back and can’t wait to try more of the menu.

We recently had dinner at Patria Covina. The restaurant has a modern vibe, and seems to be fairly new. My wife had the Ceviche, my son the Fajitas and I had the dinner combo with two choices, a burrito with shredded chicken and taco with chorizo sausage. My plate was just enough food to be full but not gorged. It was extremely flavorful without being overly spicy. My wife really enjoyed hers, and we look forward to going back.

New location near the old Turner Field. Attractive room with beautiful patio option. Best Mexican cuisine I’ve experienced in Atlanta. Fresh, creative beverages. The Mancha three enchiladas is phenomenal in providing variety on one plate with wonderful rice. I wish they would provide beans with the rice. Great service by competent, friendly staff. Lots of beautiful people in the room. Will become a regular as it displaces my former favorites mentioned above.

This might be my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Atlanta. First, our server was outstanding. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. Delicious guacamole and margaritas. I had a cucumber/jalapeno margarita that had just the right amount of sweetness. The carnitas were the best I've ever tasted, with a super crispy outside and moist inside. We sat on the patio despite the humidity. My only suggestion would be to possibly add some fans for the heat, and to discourage flying insects.

This restaurant continues to be on my top list for Delicious Mexican Food! Love this restaurant for so many reasons! The food obviously...the atmosphere is great! They have a fantastic outside patio that’s lovely when it’s good weather. The inside is nice as well! Oh and the DRINKS are brilliant! Patria Cocina has some of the best margaritas in town!

Perhaps the best Mexican (Jalisco) I’ve had in Atlanta. Been here twice. Our waitress, Shawnee, was amazing, personable and knew the menu.

We stumbled upon this restaurant after coding the nearby zoo and had a great meal. As it happened, we were there for Brunch and ordered from that menu. - Huevos Norteños - Really good. If I had a critique, I wish there had been more nopales present - Barbacoa de res - The meat was cooked really well, but after a few bites it began to taste salty. - Tortillas - VERY good. Service was pretty good. We liked Jorge. He was very personable.

Chicken fajitas were dry and under seasoned. Grill marks look fake. Lots of grilled peppers, but few onions. Yellow rice and refried beans also bland. Maybe Atlantans prefer toned down flavors. Beautiful patio with open fire heaters.

The food here is GREAT! I have been going to this restaurant since they were on Moreland Ave. I have NEVER experienced such rude service from anyone until last night. We ordered and asked for no tomatoes because we are ALLERGIC! Simple right? The manager comes out and says that we would have to scrape the tomatoes off the taco and they will not remake it because the server would have to pay for it! WHAT? Then I challenged him and he asked us to pay out check and leave! Customer service is EVERYTHING to me and I am truly disappointed. May NEVER go back if this manager is still there! IF we had an severe reaction to the tomatoes this would have been a lawsuit TODAY! I was insulted and repulsed by his behavior towards paying customers.

We love coming to Patria Cocina (in addition to having it delivered and picking it up) about once a week. Everything we've tried so far is wonderful. Start with the street corn, it doesn't disappoint. I love their quesadillas (veggie and grilled chicken) and fajitas as well. The restaurant staff is friendly and the food always comes out quickly. It's a great place for a lunch or dinner date, has a great patio, and awesome margs.

This excellent restaurant, accessible from the SE Beltline trail, built a loyal fan base when it was a dive-y looking place at its former Moreland Ave location. I love the pan-seared salmon, the carnitas and the guac.

This is a fabulous Mexican restaurant with a varied menu offering. Start with a couple margaritas, La Organica, or Pencas De Agave to start. Get the Salsa Trio and chips. Very tasty. The Ceviche Mixto, delicious. Finally the California Burrito. 👍🏻
Good for date night
I like this place and am glad I finally tried it. They reopened and were formerly known as El Mexicano. The menu is pretty much the same, but with fewer options. The salsa is a bit on the tomato-y side but still good nonetheless. I miss the hole in the wall feel that el Mexicano had, but like the new vibe of this place.
