Vegan fennel sausage and hot honey... OMG what a combination. For the meat lovers, don't worry you haven't been forgotten! My wife assures me the pepperoni is (nearly lol) as good! Don't miss it!

This pizza is OUTSTANDING! Totally worth the trip to Brooklyn to find and enjoy this place! There are numerous different pizzas to choose from, and they are all excellent and cooked/served quickly. The restaurant is in an older brick building - great atmosphere. Can be a little dark and loud, but only adds to the cozy atmosphere. We loved this place!

Can't say enough about Pauly Gees. The pizza is amazing. The Cherry Jones is by far my favorite pie. Wine, beer and desserts are all great. Plus for have vegan options. The ambiance of this place is perfect for friends, family and a date night. They don't take reservations but Transmitter Park at the end of the street has some of the best views of Manhattan. Enjoy your food and time at Pauly Gees. Also, I always appreciate that Pauly himself comes around to talk to the patrons. Truly a nice touch and personal feel. A top spot in my book.

Good pizza, not much else to add. A Greenpoint icon, always full with hip looking young people. Feels like a tinder date night too often, a Lil funny.

Fab trip to this restaurant as my so.n is a pizza expert. This was fab, great menu choices, quite adventurous. Would return.

I'm surprised that most people rate this place so highly. Not only was my pizza burnt, it was fairly bland. Additionally, my daughter wasn't served her pizza until the rest of us had already finished ours. No reasons were given for the delay until they finally served it. At that point the waitress said her first pizza was too burnt to serve so they had to make another one! No compensation was given for this inexcusable delay.

Though showing up on a Saturday night at 8;15pm is NOT the best course of action, after hearing about Paulie Gee's and seeing the Pizza show, we had to go! Greenpoint is not an easy destination from NYC - other than driving and or shared car service, but once upon arrival there were plenty of places to keep up busy for the 2 hour wait. By the way, it was exactly 2 hours!! After adding our name to the list for a 4 top, we headed to Bouwerij Lane - beer mecca! A "Brooklyn-ite" college style bar with a hidden back area OUTSIDE.. the beers were amazing - both on tap and in a 'showcased' style refridgerator! Oh, and 2 rounds of 3 beers was NYC pricing. Ok, back to Paulie Gee's. Worth the wait and these are Brooklyn prices! 2 cocktails, 2 drinks, 4 pies, 2 salads $140! That is amazingly inexpensive for Brisket Pizza, Sausage Ricotta and Honey drizzeled Pepperoni - forgive me I forgot the "romantic names". The crust is thin, very doughy with great texture and taste. The "leoparding" on the pizza is a trademark (looks burnt, but it is not). The wood is hand selected for the pizza pit that is in the back center of the restaurant. My suggestion, it opens at 5pm so show up before 6:45 and it is likely about 1 hr wait! Enjoy!

Lively pizza place offering a very varied pizza topping menu, great atmosphere supported with rock based background music.

After being turned down at the sit-down version, we walked to the slice shop and had a decent experience. The pizza is not awesome, but it is good enough and generous. There is not enough sitting available, but the atmosphere is pretty vibrant, which is a plus.

Have been waiting to go here for ages, since our last visit and we didn't get a chance to get there, but this time we did and it was totally worth th wait. Fast and polite service, delicious pizza, drinks and the sundae for dessert! Also try the homemade limoncello...

This place is quite a find! The pizza is amazing. We had a variety of pies to share amongst the group and loved them all. The hype about the Hellboy is well deserved, it is the bomb. What I thought was impressive was that each pizza had something unique that made it stand out. We had the Danielle (great use of garlic) as well as a couple of Hellboy (spicy honey), Brian DeParma (light and refreshing), Vegan In Ricotta (distinct and flavors stand on their own) and Jackie Green (dissaperered too fast for me to try). The Vegan selections were quite impressive especially to most of us who are carnivores. The desserts were also spot on, and the Vegan cheesecake would fool even your great grandmother. The lighting is low and makes the barn style decor very cool and relaxing. You may have to use the flash on your cell phone to see the menu though. Regarding the cool restrooms, after some debate we decided the pitchfork is for men and the umbrella is for women. Even the bathrooms are cool and farmhouse chic. But they're one person at a time so you could just treat as unisex as long as you put the seat down. The one thing preventing the 5th Star was the beer. While the selection is excellent although limited (understandable for such a small place), the pours were wrought with peril. Primary problem seems to be a combination if pouring technique and carbonation levels (large bubbled foam and thin head on IPA and the Porter was just plain flat). They need to contact either their distributor (or a Cicerone) for some troubleshooting and training.

We held a rehearsal dinner at Paulie Gee's this past Friday evening for about 40 guests. What a wonderful experience! The food, drinks and service were all great. Paulie, himself, was there the entire time to make sure everything was perfect. Food was plentiful and well prepared. All of the servers were very attentive. Price was very fair.

If you have to wait then remember it's truly worth the wait. Fresh ingredients oven backed with wood fire. They have vegan choices that as a none vegan tasted flavorful when compared to other places. Their spicy honey was outstanding. I recommend you to try it and assure you it won't be the last time . Too bad no delivery or reservations yet worth the wait.

Paulie Gee's is a solid option for good pizza in Brooklyn, but I think there are better options. It didn't compare to Roberta's in Bushwick or Marta in Manhattan, but was still pretty good pizza right out of the oven. The topping choice is daunting and actually a bit overwhelming. I like choice, but it took me 10 minutes just to read the whole menu, not helped by the super dark lighting inside. The meat is top quality and anything with the local hot honey is good, especially the Hell Boy, pepperoni with hot honey drizzled on, but it just didn't come together as well as expected. The honey also got a little cloying after a few slices. The Ricky Ricotta was similarly good for a slice or two, but after that the sheer power of the ricotta became a little overwhelming. The crust was amazing though. Service was good, but nothing special. The wait time is ofter over an hour and apparently there is already a line at 6:00 when they open. We ended up grabbing an open stand up table by the bar and found out we could order there which saved a 45 minute wait. However, it took between 30-40 minutes for the pizza to come out, and it was clearly forgotten until the hostess checked in. Paulie Gee himself also stopped by and chatted which was a nice touch, but didn't really add much to the experience. Service was friendly but didn't go out of the way. The beer menu was small but pretty good as well, key for a pizza place.

Pizzas are amazing and really creative. Beer is good too. But service is best - very attentive and friendly. I’d personally go with hard copy menus, as it’s all online right now. But otherwise, great place.

Went here on a rainy Wednesday night as a friend gave a recommendation. Didn't have to wait which was great(probs to do with the rain). Shared 4 pizza's between 4 people. They were great, cooked fresh, the tomato base was perfect, reminded me of a traditional pizza from Italy. Nice ambiance with dim lit edison globes. Pauly himself even came around to check how the meal was at the end of the meal which gave it a really family owned feel

Pales in comparison to sit down version, and even to other slice joints...even in Greenpoint lol. Please improve this spot, or just disassociate it with the original, as it is now just a blemish on an otherwise incredible pizza.

Arrived shortly after opening and there was already a line. The freshest ingredients and great thin crust.

Paulie Gee's had fun twists on pizza. Really inventive toppings and combos. The owner even came around to see how we were enjoying. Staff was nice and friendly. We did have to wait but hostess was on top on things even checking back on us when our table was almost ready. It does get loud in the restaurant. We also tried the dessert pizza which was fabulous. Before you go though be sure to check out the special menu which is only online.

Paulie Gee's is the best pizza I've ever had ... Period! In fact, I can't wait for the Columbus OH restaurant to open so I don't have to spend the money on airfare when I crave a spectacular pizza. Paulie Gee's = GO BUCKS!!

So the word on the streets is that Paulie Gee's has the best pizza in NYC... I don't know who started this false rumor, but what I see is a bunch of people eating there, continuing to spread the fallacy, too afraid to say anything to the contrary lest they should be labelled blasphemous. Come on people. I was there with a large party and had a chance to try three of their pizzas-all disappointing. Mine was one of the ones with a pepperoni/honey combo. The honey is a gimmick-it's not a revelation. And not enough pepperoni for the size of the pizza. The mozzarella in all the pizzas has more water content than anything else, which means that by the time the pizza arrives on the table, there is already a puddle of water accumulating in the center, disintegrating the crust. The crust is pretty charred, and the burnt flavor is strong. The only plus is the quality of the pepperoni and the prosciutto-meaty and savory. There is no chance that I will ever go back. Wake up people.

The hell boy and margarita pizza with sausage . Omg to die for! Thin crust baked in wood fired oven! Really the best authentic pizza! Very yummy! Well worth the visit!

I've been here too many times to count at this point and brought everyone who's come to visit the city that I could. Great pizza and a great host in Paulie himself who makes the rounds every night he can to each table to make sure you're enjoying yourself. I could go on about the individual pies and the amazing flavor combinations, but you won't believe it until you try it yourself.

We came upon this place and decided to try. The hostess could not tell us the wait time nor could she ever give us information as we waited 1 hour to be seated. Disorganized is an understatement for her experience. However, the pizza was great and the service after that was amazing.

Absolutely delicious (Italian aka for European standards normal sized) pizza’s. We we’re seated within 5 minutes, after arriving around 9PM. Wonderful, warm atmosphere, attentive service, nice and cold Peroni beers. Paulie would be as loved in Italy as he is here, I am sure. The only suggestion for improvement on our side would be to go easy on the lemon on the Greenpointer. The Daniel spinich with fennel sausage was off the charts though!

This is my experience park my car when you sat down ordered drinks menus were handed to us Server explains how things work you can only order what's on the menu you can't alter any items for instance I asked for a plain pizza can't have it I asked for a sausage pizza can't have it I asked for a pizza to go we don't have to go in fact you can't order a pizza on the phone for pick up. You can't alter or subtract any item that's on there printed menu you cannot have it your way you must eat it that way. Somebody needs to be tested This is not Brooklyn it's Miami we got up and left everyone was disappointed and confused and will never return

The sign outside is old school. The inside is dark wood, dim and homey. The pizza options vary between proven classics and totally novel (spicy hot honey, anyone?) The pizza is very thin crust, central to northern Italian style, so most people would be able to consume a whole pie themselves with little difficulty. Although, I recommend ordering a few different ones and sharing. They have good bottled wine options, as well. They don't take reservations, so be prepared for a wait and a possible line. Best to go either before 7pm or after 9:30pm. Best of all, perhaps, is this place is totally vegetarian/vegan friendly. The menu has a sizable section of pies with dairy and meat-free ingredients. So, yeah, even your herbivore friends can come.

Hard to find if you never been and you are driving by but once we got in we Had the "In Ricotta Da Vegan", it was very good but it would have been better without the "ricotta" i wasn't a big fan of that part. Also tried the vegan ice cream very delicious. i'll def go back next time i'm in brooklyn and try some more menu items.

My cousin from California was visiting me last week and she is a pizza freak! We have been to a few of the better known pizza places in NYC so we decided to take the plunge and go to the well known Paulie Gee's in Greenpoint,Brooklyn. We took the #32 bus from the 59th St. Bridge and transfered to another bus on Queens Blvd. Not a bad trip and pretty fast. Boy was I disappointed. First of all the place is so dark you can barely read the menu, the tables are very small and when they brought us our plates they were the size of a small salad plate. This is what you eat great pizza on???? I then knew that their pizza would be a disappointment. I hated their dough, to me it was like a dark greyish flat bread....their cheese was limited and not great and the sizes were very, very small compared to the regular great NYC pizza slices. I asked for a little more sauce and the waitress brought me a small dish of it and I must say their sauce was the best thing that I ate. When we received the check they charged me $1 extra for the sauce. It's not the $1 but the principal since we paid, I think $17 for these small pies with small slices. It was a bit of an adventure but you can be sure I will never go back. I just don't understand what people think is so great about their pizza???

Read about this place so we decided to. Great place. Service is fantastic and Paulie walks around to see how all is going. We had the pizza with fresh squeezed lemon and the hell boy. Both were really tasty.

Awesome restaurant if you enjoy hanging out in a dim lit cosy restaurant where the staff doesn’t pester with over the top service. The Pizza is absolutely fabulous!

We had a family graduation dinner here-perfect! Great pizzas, reasonably priced, with great service.

My family of 4 had Sunday dinner after a 90 minute wait, as we did not have a reservation. Upon tasting my wood fired pizza I understood why PGs is very popular, albeit amongst 20 to 30 somethings. Ambience was great. On the flip side I thought the wine list could be improved and white wine chilled, it was just below room temperature. Very limited selection of wine. The waitress wasn't the most attentive.

I LOVE Paulie Gees. Excellent atmosphere and Paulie Gee himself always comes to greet everyone. Food is delicious - extensive pizza menu and the flavours make you want to try a new pizza every time you visit. This place gets pretty popular on the weekend but it's definitely worth the wait! Great to visit with a group.

Spending the last night of a long trip in America, wanted a table for my girl and me, these guys on the entrance didn't had a chance to serve the dinner to us: excuses, excuses & so we left to other incredible pizza place FORNINOS, 100% totally worth the experience.

We were super excited to see a vegan cheese option - and both the vegan mozzarella and ricotta were very good. We couldn't enjoy our food and took most to-go as the noise level was uncomfortable as this place is packed and the management needs to turn the music up even louder. We go for the vegan cheese as we are lactose intolerant so we can eat the dairy - but we were disappointed to find the absence of both chicken and american bacon as additional protein toppings. The menu is a bit hard to get through as all the names of the pizza are "pet names" like "delboy" and "king harry". The vibe was definitely that of a great neighbor establishment - they do not off take out as it apparently negatively impacted their dine-in service. We would definitely eat their food again if we could take it out of the unpleasantly loud environment - but until then we cannot come back.

As a business traveler, I have the opportunity to eat all over this great nation. I am a pizza lover and must try the pizza wherever I go, especially in the Northeast region. Paulie Gees is by far one of the best I have ever eaten. Great atmosphere, great food and very friendly.

A great spot for pizza, My fiance and i ordered the Hellboy......pepperoni with a drizzle of hot honey, it tasted amazing. so much so we went back a few days later. We decided to branch out and got a Ricky Ricotta and a Hellboy, both are delicious but the Hellboy wins hands down. the service is great, the manager takes the time for small chat. It has a cosy feel to the place and it was busy both times we went. On the second visit we decided on a bottle of red, the only thing that let the place down was that we drank our red wine from small tumbler glasses. Now I don't want to sound snobby but red wine tastes nicer from a nice big wine glass....it helps the wine to breath....this is a VERY small issue for me and i'm still giving it 5 stars. we loved the hot honey so much we bought a bottle to take home with us.

Loved the pizza here. Not too big, great sauce, loved it. They have a good selection of original toppings too.

Paulie Gee's is a Greenpoint institution. So inventive, so delicious. No wonder there is always a wait no matter the day or time. Get the hellboy, you won't regret it.

By the time the owner, Paulie, stops by your table to ask how things are going, you will undoubtedly give him positive feedback. He has a great set of pizza options, including ones with their "hot honey" like the Hellboy.

if you're not careful, you will miss the nondescript entrance to this brick oven pizza gem a couple of blocks from the East River end of Greenpoint Avenue. Just look for the street address: 60. Open the barn door and step inside pizza heaven. It's tight, crowded, has that hip Greenpoint vibe, and serves pizza to die for. My son enjoyed one of the vegan pies, Simply Red, a combo of vegan sauce with tomatoes, olive oil, vidalia onions, garlic, basil, salt and pepper. He added cashew ricotta and house pickled red onions for an up-charge of $3 each. I had the Greenpointer, with fresh mozzarella, baby arugula, olive oil, fresh lemon juice and shaved parmigiano reggiano and added prosciutto di Parma for good measure, also for an additional $3 charge. The flavors melded on a perfect crust with just the right about of char. This was not "burn the roof of your mouth" pizza; it was served at just the right temperature to dig in and immediately enjoy. For that reason, there are no take-out orders. By the time you got the pie home, it probably wouldn't taste as good. Top it off with delicious, locally made Van Leeuwen's ice cream, including some vegan selections, and we got out of there for about 50 bucks. Paulie Gee stopped by each table. We chatted about our various trips to Italy. Service was excellent. Big groups may have a bit of a wait. As a two-top, we were fortunate to be served right away. Looking forward to our next visit.

We waited for over an hour for a seat at this restaurant that doesn't even have a sign to let you know you are there. So, you know it must have quite a following, and it does. The staff was very good, and the food was too. Neat place.

Excellent, Italian style pizza with innovative toppings. Awesome setting and decor. A little pricey, but the taste and quality justified the cost. Highly recommended.

I went to the Paulie Gees restaurant with my Sister and we had the best time. I am dairy free and she’s vegan. The pizza was amazing. They did an amazing job specializing the flavors! I definitely recommend for anyone.

Good news is that there is an excellent Beer Tavern a few doors down to wait. We are vegan/vegetarians and really enjoyed our options. Other members of our group really enjoyed the Hellboy Pizza with Spicy Honey. It is a long wait, but the price is right and just go knowing you will be hanging out for a few beers/wine while waiting.

The food is excellent, no question there but the fact that you have to order from the app and there is no interaction with a server ruins the whole experience. We pulled up at 7:30 on a Monday night, wait was 30 minutes. After 40 minutes we check in with the hostess and she says “oh I called your number”. Nope, definitely no one called. We get seated, scan the QR code, the menu pulls up, no waiter. We are now sitting staring at our phones trying to figure out how to order instead of interacting with each other. The menu is very annoying, you can’t see the whole description until you click on the item so instead of being able to skim through the menu you are clicking on each item and then CL licking the back button to go back to the rest of the menu, very aggravating. This whole time not a single person came by our table. I had a question about couple of menu options but simply no one to ask. It literally feels like the restaurant is self serve. Once we made our choices and placed the order (through the phone), it takes you to the pay page where a tip of 20% auto populates for you. This must be a joke, who am I tipping?! Should I be rather getting a 20% discount for doing all the work myself? The experience was such a turn off, it doesn’t matter how good the food is

Great pizzas here with a twist, the pizzas are freshly prepared with lovely ingredients Service and ambience was fantastic, well done all

Besides the delicious toppings... We had everything at our table, vegetarian, speck, sopresada, etc. the dough is the best this side of Italy. It doesn't matter what you get on it. My only suggestion is to save room or just make room for the best brownie of your life! Diets and low carbs beget... this place is worth the time and the calories!!

The staff was disrespectful nasty rude the pizza looks nothing like it does in its pictures THE NASTINESS OF THE STAFF CAUSE NO TIP ON MY TAKE OUT ORDER BUT WAS GOING TO TIP IN CASH as a business owner this behavior is unacceptable I paid & left the pizza

I can't speak for the salads - but I can for the slices. Umm, YUM. The Hellboy is a meat paradise slathered in Mike's Hot Honey. Let's just say I'd let a devilish boy cover me in this honey it is so good. TMI? Sorry, try another reviewer - or go easy and order another slice of heaven such as the Ricotta Be Kiddin' Me. Makes great leftovers the next day.

Can't say enough about this place. Live here and as far as Neapolitan style pizza goes this is definitely my favorite in Brooklyn. For any veg/ vegans they have a full vegan menu on the back that is sincerely equally as good as there non veg options. Note it doesn't open until 5p. Also would advise to go on a weekday if you can. Weekends can be 2+ hour wait.

Simply the "Bomb". Walked in early with a group of 7. We had no res. but we were like the second table in the door. Graciously seated by the hostess and enthralled by the vintage decor, aged hard wood surfaces and dim candle light vibe. We met the owner Paulie within a few minutes of sitting down and he was alot of fun. A real down to earth guy enjoying the pizza celebrity status he has created and really getting out to talk to everyone of the customers. Ok now for the pizza. We basically ordered about 10 different pies to share. 8 out of the 10 were phenomenal and I am a total pizza snob. Paulie Gee has the crust and sauce down to a T. Easily one of if not the best pizza joints in the U.S. Don't miss this spot!

Went to Paulie Gee's on our recent trip to New York. We where not disappointed. The decor is eclectic and the lighting is low. Be warned, the wait time can be long. This place is very popular and is VERY busy. The three of us loved our wood oven pies. Service is efficient and amiable. Worth a visit.

There is a slice shop around Greenpoint at Franklin Avenue but I went to the restaurant at 60 Greenpoint Avenue which I believe is called Paulie Gee's. Anyway, the restaurant doesn't take reservation but we, a party of 2, lined up at 5:45 at the door and were second on line on a Friday. The door opens at 6 pm and we were seated right away. There is a bar area near the entrance and then a seating area, not too small. The restaurant is very dark and the music is quite loud. We ordered a beer and a cocktail. I ordered a King harry Classic and my wife had a Ricky Ricotta. My wife like the vegan pizza and it's crust. My opinion about my pizza was good. The desserts are pizza desserts and or ice cream. So, we din't have any dessert. While we were leaving at 7:30 pm or so, the resturant was packed and people were waiting on line. Good place if you are around there.

Came here with my son March of 2017 sorry I'm late on this review but it came up on my Facebook memories and wanted to share, I will post pictures of the pizzas we had, had great memories, pizza was excellent I don't remember exactly what type of pizza they were but one was a breakfast pizza, the Ambiance was amazing, and the pizzas were excellent, next time I'm back to see my son I would love to return.

We didn't want to wait an hour+ on a week night, so we opted to sit at the bar and order our pizzas. Mine was pretty good (I ordered a special) and I'm a fan of thin crust and don't mind things a little 'crispy'. My GF's pizza was pretty burnt - but we were also starved, so she ate it without complaint. Service was very good - our bartender was excellent! Drinks are definitely overpriced, but the pizza was reasonable. Overall - an average pizza experience in Brooklyn.

Lightly charred pizza crust topped with premium, creative ingredients = pizza heaven. We ordered two different pizzas - and both agreed the Hell Boy was the best!

You can't stay in Brooklyn and not eat at Paulie Gee's. This has very dim lighting so really good for a first date on Tinder. The most authentic pizza you will ever have. The whole experience here is awesome. Excellent quality food. Great service. Well worth having to wait if its busy.

Looking for the best piazza in ny? Here is a great place to consider. Awesome piazza and excellent beer. Be ready to line up.

Absolutely delicious pizza!!!! Had dinner there this past Saturday night to celebrate my brother's birthday and had a great experience. The wait might be a little lengthy if you try a walk-in (because the food is that good), but just do what we did and walk around to find a bar where you can enjoy a cocktail while you wait, then call to just check in with the friendly hostess to check on your time. Was easily doable. I believe the really friendly and informative hostess that was there said her name was Heather. Everyone was extremely friendly from the time we originally walked in until we left at the end of our meal. Our waitress Christina was extremely knowledgeable on the menu, accommodating with building my pizza(because I can be difficult), and prompt with her service. She was very sweet to bring limoncello over as a birthday shot to celebrate. We had an awesome experience throughout. Would definitely recommend this establishment!

Great pizza. Try to stop here. Pizza baked in an oven right in front of you. So fresh and tasty. Service is great and the owner stops over to say Hi.

Went here on the recommendation of a friend who lives in the neighborhood. Totally worth it!!! Would recommend the Hellified Porkpie White if you're looking for something exciting and the Regina if you're looking for something more classic.

Paulie Gee's is amazing for tourists and for local Brooklynites. The wait is devastating if you arrive way after they open but if you arrive right when they open you will get a seat. The flavors are incredible. My favorites are the Dell Boy (non-spicy one), HellBoy is the spicy one. The one with honey, cheese and cherries is to die for! They carry a good selection of craft beer. It is not the easiest place to get to but the G Train is the best route. Pauly always comes to your table.

Restaurant located one block from the riverfront area in Greenpoint .We thought it was closed as it had a barn like door across the front.Packed with a very trendy clientele but music so loud that you have to shout to your fellow diners-I think I picked out Dance to the Music by Sly Stone. Also its so dark that we had to use our phone torches to read the menu.My kids said the top price pizzas were nothing special. Mr Gee was touring the tables.Sorry but not a relaxing evening.

We stayed just around the corner and were looking for a place to eat after a long day of walking around... so we popped in there and they told us to come back in 30 in, we gave our name and went back to where we were staying. It was worth the wait!!! Lovely choice of pizza with a twist. Only disappointment is that they ran out of chocolate cake! 😊 The only thing I would point out is that the place was quite dark which was a bit unusual for us.

Go early, or be prepared to wait for the wonderful, deliciouls pizza at Paulie Gees. This is a locals hangout, Paulie Gee himself was busy working the crowd on Friday night. All the pizzas are awesome, the CHERRY JONES is a gem. The balance of savory and sweet is perfect, be adventuresome and try this one for sure. And The Gates of Eden Salad is refreshing and full of goodness ! ! When I am back in Brooklyn area I will make my way to Paulie Gee's for sure ! ! !

Friendly service, good beer and nice setting. The pizzas, though nicely advertised, are rather poor. Ingredients are fresh but the crust is not crispy, the food is uneventful and way overhyped. Not quite worth the waiting

There are two primary types of NY pizza. There is the high end / gourmet pizza and the corner joint. They both have their time and place. Paulie Gee's is the cream of the crop of the former. Paulie goes above and beyond some of the joints that inspired him (Roberta's, etc.) all while being a gracious host in a lovely space.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Paulie Gee's! Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere! Paulie was a gracious host! Our server, Christina, was awesome! Loved the decor! Loved that we had to share a table with new people because we were able to meet another pizza guru, Justin. Oh...and the pizza was amazing!

Paulie Gee's offers outstanding brick oven pizza with an array of fresh and flavorful toppings. The service is friendly and helpful in this crowded, rustically appointed Greenpoint restaurant. We dined here restaurant on a Friday night and fortunately arrived about 15 minutes before the 6:00 P.M. opening. We barely made it into the first seating. I would recommend lining up at least 20 minutes ahead.

This restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel. Don't get me wrong, the pizza was good. But the restaurant was very dark. We had to read our menus with our mobile phone torches. Three pizzas came out fairly quickly, but the forth just didn't come. Our friend encouraged us to start ours, and we asked the waiting staff about his order. They apologised and said they'd chase it up. Half way through our pizza, we chased it up again. 3/4 through, Paulie Gee himself asked how we were enjoying our meal. We said that 3 of us were happy, but 1 was still hungry. The pizza appeared shortly after, by which time we were almost finished. To be fair to Paulie Gee, he gave us all a free Limoncello. But this didn't really compensate for our meal. I wouldn't bother going back.

I've had and thoroughly enjoyed this style of pizza...special pizza oven...high heat...great ingredients...fabulous crust...I get it...but Paulie Gee's takes the ingredients and gets ridiculous - from the perspective of a more traditional pizza lover...ok...enough pizza philosophy...the crust on these pizzas is a bit too chewy for me...I like more char on the crust from the oven...the toppings are more trendy than tasty...decent beer selection...I enjoyed our visit but wouldn't return...didn't love it and didn't hate it...I'd rather keep searching...

Easily the best pizza we had on our trip to NYC. This restaurant is the thing of local legend, with an extensive menu and some amazing creations on it. The restaurant is in a good location in Green Point, is easily accessible, and is very cool when you get there. It can be a bit dark inside, but it has a cool distressed look about it. The food is really sensational, with great choice on the menu, fresh ingredients and outstanding flavours. They also offer a large wine list with plenty of options for pairing with any pizza. The pricing is fairly reasonable as well, not too expensive, and you absolutely get what you pay for at Paulie Gee's. Finally, Paulie himself is often around (apparently) and was there on the night we were in attendance. It's good to see a restauranteur who cares about their restaurant that much and is around to talk to patrons and ensure they are having a good time.

You will definitely walk past this place. The huge warehouse style doors hide it well, but dont. It would be the most egregious mistake you could ever make; you have to show up an hour before you want to eat or else you will be starving by the time you get a table. It is PACKED full of people if they stuffed one more hipsters moustache in this restaurant it would surely explode into a hairy hell. Everything on the menu is excellent, vegan options, veggie options, and of course carnivorous options for those that need the extra protein for "gains". You can watch the pizza dough being tossed and beautifully cooked in their wood oven right at the back of the restaurant while you sip on their bountiful selections of wine from across the globe. When you finish, don't get up yet! That old man in the baseball cap walking towards you wants to have a chat (he's the owner himself) to make sure you have everything you could possibly need. All in all I'm never having pizza in New York on a night out anywhere else. Go here and say hello to Paulie Gee's.

This place is a few blocks from my house and is such a neighborhood gem. They have great meat and vegan pizzas and a secret menu you can find online. If you are lucky enough, Paulie Gee himself will come around and ask how your meal is...he is truly authentic and awesome. Ask for extra hot honey!

First time stopping at this spot. Excellent pizza Thin crust style with a great selection of ingredients. Must try the Hellboy. If you like spicy and the Hot Honey gives it a great flavor. Really cool vibe worth a stop for a pie.

Busy pizza joint. Nice room with quick service. Had the hellboy, don't fear it,it's not that hot. Food was tasty, just on a personal level I prefer the thinner Sicilian or puglian pizzas. Worth a visit.

I wanted to come to this place because of what if offered, a different take on pizza, and it met my expectations. I had a pizza similar to the Hellboy, the only differene being it had sausage. The dough is fantastic, although the pizza was a little bit burnt on one side. The hot honey makes this pizza because it plays with the spicyness of the Sorpressatta Picante. It was a little bit wet in the middle but the taste makes up for it. The beer was good and the place is really nice.

Great and special pizza's ! Nice interior, very cosy, staff could be a bit more friendly, but overall the best Pizza in town!

New York pizza, in Brooklyn no less where they say the water makes for some magic in the pizza dough, and this place was humming on a cold Monday night when we visited. The interior is rustic, and the heat of those pizza ovens made for an extra inviting atmosphere. The pizza was, of course, delicious and showed that this place deserves its great reputation. The wood fired finish was unmistakable.

There was lots of choice but i went for the In A Gadda Da Vegan - which was great and even better as leftovers the next day - vegan fennel sausage. We had a fun spot by the oven so we could see the pizza makers at work. Great beer selection too.

We came here as a suggestion from our hotel. The pizza was good, the atmosphere was WONDERFUL and the staff was nice. Our order was out in minutes.... fast!

The pizza is right up there with Roberta’s in E Williamsburg. The owner comes around to the tables and chats it up with his patrons. Good draft beer selection and ingredients for the pizza are spot on. Get there early otherwise you’ll be waiting for a while.

First night in NY and this was recommended by the barman in the hotel. Luckily we got there before opening and were first at a table because within 10mins every table was full!! Quick service, very tasty pizzas, accommodating staff. Really can’t fault it. Would highly recommend, if you can get in.

We visited the establishment, having read relevant reviews. The place lived up its reputation. Enjoyed beer 🍻 at the bar while waiting to be seated, the right ambiance too. Once seated, we could watch the process of pizza 🍕 making, the dough, the oven... which provided the right 'lee way' to enjoy it once served on our table, coupled with great red wine 🍷. The perfect 👌 pizza with the right dough and ingredients that you can distinguish their fine taste! Simple & Authentic. Paulie was around checking and chatting at the tables, and were glad to meet him too. A 'must' on our next visit to the Big 🍎 Apple👌🙂

This was our first stop since arriving in NYC. We were staying at an Airbnb right up the block from here, so it was an easy walk. It was prime dinner hours, and we were quoted an hour for the wait time. It ended up only being 15 minutes which was a nice surprise. Service is great! Our waitress was very nice, and made sure we had everything we needed, including answering any questions. The pizza was good. Both of our pizzas seemed to have fresh toppings and were NY-style thin crust. The crust, however, was burnt on both of our pies. Even though it was good, this was not the best NY pizza we experienced however. There were several other original, hole-in-the-wall pizzerias with much better pizza and even better prices. Not to mention how bad the atmosphere was here (personal opinion, I'm sure, but not our style). It was extremely dark to the point we couldn't even see the menu. The noise level was overly loud to the point my wife and I couldn't hear each other talk. The restaurant was tiny, and just not appealing to us. We have friends who live in Brooklyn and told us that Paulie Gee's is for the hipster locals...they're spot on. Visit the many other original local pizzerias in the area instead.

I saw PG's on Vice's Munchies show. The guys are great, the venue isn't overcrowded and it's 2 minutes to the river if you want a view. The signature pizza is a simple pepperoni with a hot honey sauce, but I'd recommend the other more experimental ones. (And a pint of the honey milk beer) Great part of Brooklyn too.

Four different pizza's and four home runs. Small tap list but delicious beers. Very thin crust that is very chewy at the end. One size but quite satisfying, great for everyone to order one pizza and then share. Well worth the visit for dinner, get there early to avoid a wait,👏👏

Don't get me wrong, the pizza here is amazing. I've eaten here multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed my meals. But countless times have I been in here and the hosts have been so foul and unpleasant that I've been put over the edge. So, continue to eat the pizza, just get it to go, embrace the summer weather and go eat it at transmitter park.

I'm not sure if it's because we were one of the 1st guests of the night but our pizza was so burnt it was hard to eat. I literally had ash in my teeth afterwards and my mouth. It is unfortunate because we were really looking forward to this bc my wife can't have dairy or tomatoes and they have good options.

We were skeptical if we should wait the hour & 40min but ended up waiting half the time and it was well worth it. The pizza is arguably the best tasting I’ve ever had, and the restaurant has a very chill atmosphere. The service was good, simple. I will definitely continue coming here.

Growing up in the neighborhood it was good experiencing such an exceptional restaurant. The food was very good and the service was just as special. The pizza is varied and was good. It's a tough toss between them and Roberta's which we have become a fan of as well. The beer selection of craft beers was very good as well with enough to cater most. Should be back soon.

Although we have a location in Chicago, this was my first time dining at Paulie Gee’s. We arrived a bit after 7pm & it was filled with candles & lovely but almost too dark to see the menu. My friend literally had to use the flashlight on her iPhone to see. The pizza menu is extensive including a nice selection of vegan versions. I had the Chop’t ’Til You Drop vegan pizza {sorry not the best pic because again, too dark} and it was good. The vegan brownie, which the server raved about was just ok. They had a nice selection of music playing in the background and I even opened up Shazam to capture a couple of songs. Also, after our pizza was served Paulie Gee stopped over to ask how we were, which was nice & rare nowadays.

There is a pizza for everyone here. We enjoyed a white pizza with ham, sausage and ricotta but my favorite pizza had cherries, prosciutto and ricotta...it was truly delicious. The pumpkin bisque soup was also great! Affordable prices & great for families or larger groups with lots of family style seating. friendly staff added to the appeal!

This place is brilliant. The owner is a former computer/office geek and got tired of it. So he opened up this Pizzeria. It just goes to show you that it's not hard to make something good, you just need to care. And Paulie G. cares. Here's what's great about this place, it's not just good pizza, it's different. The different combinations of ingredients is like nothing you've ever had anywhere else. The two biggest problems are waiting for a table (accept it, that's what happens when a place is this good) and picking out a pie from the menu because there are so many good ones to choose from. The last time I was there we were a party of 5 so we all got to share and try different pies and every one was delicious. It's tight, it's crowded and there's always a line, but this is Brooklyn. And again, this is what happens when a place has good food. I'd rather wait on line for this excellent food then walk in and sit immediately anywhere else and have average food. Don't change a thing Paulie.

We ordered a Pepperoni and Pepperoni with honey pizza for dinner. Very tasty with fresh ingredients. We truly enjoyed this and will order from here again.

I am big sucker for pizza and I regularly make my own (with dough and all). This was probably one of the best pizzas I ever had - I can't remember the name of the one I had, but it had lots of fennel variations as topping and was absolutely delicious (I can also recommend the Hell Boy one). The place seemed really popular so if you are visiting from further away it's probably best to reserve a table (there are lots of bars in the area if you have to kill some time while you are waiting).

did I think I would eat sopressata and LOVE it. In the endless battle of trying to eat healthy, I have mourned the loss of pizzas, pastries and the like. Visiting family in NYC and their insistence we eat at Paulie G's, I didn't have much of a choice. We ordered three pizzas with Hellboy (not gonna lie...don't care for the name) with that one being my last choice of the three. Too bad no one else at the table got to eat any of that amazing pizza since I pretty much inhaled it. The "hot honey" sounded as appetizing to me as the sopressata but the smell alone coasted a spell. One of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. Over my lifetime I have consumed many pizzas in several cities. Ever since I've been home, I can't stop thinking about that pizza.

Finally got a chance to check out Paulie Gee's and it did not disappointed. More so than the toppings on the pizza, I have to bring attention to the dough. The pizzas personal-sized and are thin crust -- the soft kind, not the crispy kind. They're well prepared because the toppings do not soak through, nor are there significant burned spots, which are easy to come by in these types of pizzas. Out of the 5 pizzas our table procured, I'd have to say the Hellboy was the most memorable, while the Ricky RIcotta was a close second.

We stayed in Greenpoint so this was very convenient - met up with family so there were 9 of us - ordered lots of salads and lots of pizzas! The salad was delicious! "The Gates of Eden " - we shared salad and pizza - we had a variety but the one that I thought I'd hate but was outstanding was the "Hellboy" - hot honey on sopressata! OMG - who would think of honey on a pizza, let alone on meat! To die for, have tried to recreate but nothing like the original - we sat right outside the brick over, Paulie G, the owner visited and talked at our table as he did all the tables - it was a wonderful evening - I recommend to all!

After hearing rave reviews about Paulie Gee's, a few of us decided to check it out. We waited about 3 hours on a Saturday night, but we did arrive at peak time. After a few local beers, the authentically Italian, thin crust pizza was delicious!

It was a bit hard to find the place but it was worth it. This is one of the best pizza I ever ate. Great atmosphere and Paulie stops by to check on you. Also liked the special beer selection. There is no option for reservation so come early, you will enjoy.

This is one of those places that impress you to the point where you end up talking about it for days and wish to go back right away. All 4 kinds of pizza we tasted that night were outstanding. Perfect balance of ingredients. The crust is to die for (Roberta's, move over!) The staff is casually friendly. The service is slow but for a good reason: everything is made to order and brought to the table right out from the oven. The only drawback is the long wait for a table (no reservations) but totally worth it. Paulie Gee is, indeed, a Brooklyn institution. Hope it remains unchanged for many more years.

Had heard the ongoing debate of who has the best pizza, we kept hearing about this spot and decided as we were staying in Greenpoint at the Box House Hotel to try it out. Amazing is the only thing to say, pizza was perfect, really great ingredients, had the Hellboy which was so tasty especially with the spiced honey. The owner makes a point of stopping by every table which is a super classy touch. No reservations, so get here right at opening or be prepared to wait. Highly Recommended!

The vegan green pesto pizza was actually the best pizza I’ve ever had! Amazing food. Service wasn’t great but Paulie came around and had a chat to us which was cool. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table but had a couple of drinks at the bar.

Starting with the crust and the freshness of its ingredients this pizza is an absolute delight. I went there by myself because some friends of mine recommend me the place. I was so satisfied that I went back with my girlfriend who is a pizza lover and she was very surprised. Its more a gourmet delicate pizza, and compete with the good pizza you find in Manhattan.

This is a must have. It only opens after 17 but the taste... We had one with arogola and lemon, one with spinach and one with prosciutto and maple. Like nothing else!!!

Sake Mountain Way and the Hot pastrami, we also had a desert pizza, our servers name was Monica, very friendly and helpful, our pizzas were unreal, omg one of the best I've ever had, and came out in 5 mins, helps to get in early as the waits can be long I'm hearing, waiting on our desert pizza, dessert pizza was the bomb!!!!

Great selection of pizza and desserts! Definitely a place to try when you are in the area. Awesome drink selection too. Wonderful for a romantic date night or a get together with friends.

The service was RUDE.... they made us wait excessively long only to seat their friends (and I am not a nut, these were their friends...). Sure the pizza is fine but hey, it's a long way to go and you want to be treated well, sat promptly and served in a timely manner....all of which did not happen here so I would say PASS...BTW, I am from NYC, born in NYC and know NYC...go to Grimaldi's ...Paulie G. "sleeps with the fishes" when it come to pizza for me...sorry.

GET THERE EARLY! We arrived super early before they opened at 5PM and there was a line forming to get in.Their HOT HONEY? is something special. Must try if you're in Brooklyn.

Finally tried this highly recommended pizza place. Waitress was nice and efficient. Pizza was not good at all, burned to the point that it was bitter and our hands were black. Pizza makers were watching TV as they made the pizzas, so you can understand why they were so charred. Never seen that before. Will not return and will not recommend. Don't waste your money.

We decided to try Paulie Gee's based on reviews we had read about it. There was a wait for a table so we walked around a park in the area. The restaurant was busy and very crowded. We were seated at a table in the back. We were greeted promptly. The restaurant itself is very dark. The manager came by our table and greeted us and asked us where we were from. He informed us that there was a Paulie Gee's restaurant near where we live which was nice to know. We ordered the Gate of Eden Salad to share. It was greens with pecans, onions, pears, dried cranberries with a red wine vinaigrette. The ingredients work well to make a nice flavor combination. We ordered three pizzas, the Hell Boy with pepperoni, the PorkyPineapple and the Ricotta Be Kiddin' Me. My favorite was the Hell Boy which had fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and hot honey on a nice crust. The PorkyPineapple had a nice balance of flavors with the fresh pineapple and post oven speck. The Ricotta Be Kiddin' Me was my least favorite. I love cheese, but the post oven dollops of ricotta were just too much for me. It made the pizza mushy. Service was great and we had a good time.

Don't really get the hype about this place....came here on a Saturday night with 6 guests and we each ordered our own pizza. I tried the following: Hellified Porkpie White, Ricotta be Kidding Me, King Harry Classic, Monte Cristo, my favorite of those was the Hellified Porkpie White. The pizzas were really just not that wow worthy, it wasn't that great...maybe it was the varieties that we tried but I was not as impressed as I thought I would be coming into this, given all of the acclaim and great reviews for Paulie Gees. Hostess and waitress was nice. Drink selection was good - they have a cocktail list - I don't know why so many people say they offer beer and wine only. I don't feel like I need to go back here for the pizza. We didn't get dessert. The crust was good but the toppings were not that exciting nor of the best quality, overall, it was a slight disappointment. Really surprised.

If you google vahidrvahidr top 5 pizza you'll get a video with some other great pizza places in New York as well! Located at 60 Greenpoint Ave., Brooklyn, NY Paulie Gees. Paul Giannone, aka Paulie Gee the owner is a master perfectionist who is as talented as he is passionate. He wishes to have the highest quality pizza for his patrons that he stopped doing takeout because “placing it in a pizza box… changes the character of the crust considerably, and not for the better,” his quote from eater.com. He can be spotted walking around the restaurant occasionally chatting up his customers. We were lucky enough to speak with him, and you can tell that he has a love for his craft. We ordered Brian Deparma which comes topped with italian tomatoes and parmiagino reggiano. The pizza was excellent. It had charred crispy crust. There is a full vegan menu to appease the hipster population as well. Don’t miss this pizzeria.

If you're lucky enough to be in BK, this pizza is simply divine. I'm very fortunate I don't live in Greenpoint as I'd likely be eating here on the weekly. Their homemade vegan sausage is divine -- not at all like the gross tokurky stuff you find at other joints. I really cannot wait to return and try other options. We got the regina with vegan sausage and onions, and the ricky ricotta, which was one of the best pizzas I've ever had -- so fresh (now, I'm a huge fan of New Haven pizza, which is out of this world). We also got the vanilla sundae with Mike's hot honey, which was a beautiful balance of sweet and spicy. In my opinion, Paulie Gee's is significantly better than any pie I've had at Grimaldi's, Barboncino, Franny's, or Amorina. Plus, once you're done eating, walking around Greenpoint is such a treat in and of itself.

I have recently been trying to go vegan, and was really craving a good pizza. I read about Paulie Gee's on vegan forums and gave it a try. The pizza (Vegan Shmoogula) was great! I did not miss the cheese and was super satisfied. Waiting times at the restaurant can get quite long. Thankfully I was alone so got seated at the bar. The staff were very courteous and Paulie Gee himself came around for a chat to ensure everything was going well, which I think was very nice. The place can be reached from Manhattan by the East River Ferry (India Street/Greenpoint), which offers fantastic views of the Manhattan skyline.

Awesome place to come for a cheap dinner out. Located near Green Point, it's old school wood-fire oven pizza joint. Staff are friendly and even PG himself comes out and says hello. Could strongly recommend the Del Boy and You Ricotta Be Kidding Me. Pizza's range from $15-$25. Would go back!

Nice little pizza place in Greenpoint. Go early and you won't need to wait. Otherwise a long wait...but worth it.

Loved it, guessing it was a horse stable at one time. It’s young , full of energy. Even an old guy like me could get a kick out of it. Large menu of pizza, thin and wood burning fireplace. I don’t live anyway near it, but I will definitely go back. By the way Paulie works around to make sure everything is going well. You will love it! I did.

We took a wedding party to Paulie Gee's in early October. It is a medium to smallish place, and apparently quite popular. They don't take reservations, so we were all to meet at the restaurant at their 5 pm opening time to get a table. Though all of our 15 family members were not on time, staff worked with us to hold the tables, and agreed to seat us when at least 10 had arrived. The best part was the owner himself. He was so friendly and welcoming, and since most of us were from the southwest, made menu recommendations at our request. The pies were served up hot, frequent and delicious. Everyone seemed happy with the selection and the variety of tastes. The price for a large table of 15 with beverages was quite reasonable. The only downside was the high level of the music, which would have been fine were we not trying to converse. Nevertheless, we are now confirmed Paulie Gee fans.

Stopped in here for dinner. The 4 of us ordered 3 different pizzas to share. Two of us split a salad. Good food.

Decent Neopolitan pizza if you are a fan of the neopolitan style. Degraded fast so eat it fresh. The Brisket Five O was the best of the three pizzas we tried. Monte Crisco solid too.

I look at pizza shop as its own interpretation of a slice of pizza. Paulie G’s is preaching my brothers and sisters. The go to slices the Angry Man, a pepperoni slice with Mike’s Hot Honey and the Freddy Prince, a grandma square. The square all have a sesame seed bottom, an excellent touch.

As described to me by my cousin, who lives in the neighborhood and loves this place.. "it's not like regular pizza, it's like...pizza with a salad on top." Very inventive and delicious combinations like the one he described above, with arugula and proscuitto, or my personal favorite, pork and spicy honey. Unbelievably perfect, with fun names for each, on a perfect crust. From the barn door entrance, to the funky lamp shade lights and long bench style tables where you share the space with new friends, and the open kitchen where you can see the huge woodfired pizza oven, we had a great meal and a great experience. The owner is very much a presence and makes everyone feel welcome and clearly loves what he's doing. It's not a huge space and that can make for a long wait but don't let that dissuade you from sticking around. Well worth it.

Atmosphere: small bar setting in front (less than 10 seats); dining room with several tables; dim lighting; wood fire oven visible in the back; craft beer on tap; music over the speakers Meal: Hellboy Pizza (one of the signature pies) - ingredients individually were fresh and tasty but was not a fan of the hot soppressata and honey combination.

Great little spot in Brooklyn's Greenpoint/Williamsburg section, custom pizzas, great salads, nice beer/wine list. Only open 6pm-11:00ish. If you're lucky enough to meet Paulie, tell him Ben says hi. Great food and great service.

Tucked away on Greenpoint is a neighborhood favorite. Most likely will be a wait. Don't let the rustic interior fool you on the craft wood oven pizza. This is not your typical pizza, but the combinations are fresh and delicious. The have a full bar as well.

One man, at least one pizza. I think for $17 that pie could be a little richer, or bigger. Otherwise tasty, very thin, very nice flavors. Recommend Greenpointer & Housetown Brisket.

Tried this place out recently. Pizza was good, not the best, but its a cool vibe. Kinda, rustic/industrial. Went on a saturday night, it was very crowded, tight tables, and I don't know if the heat was up high or it was bc of the pizza oven blaring but it was hot like hell in there. No windows except for towards the front of the restaurant. Made for an uncomfortable dinner as I was sweating the whole time. All in all, a good place to check out. Under the radar, but not my cuppa tea. Something that was unique was a variety of vegetarian/vegan options which was nice to see.

very nice place in Brooklyn right next to WNYC Transmitter Park and to EastRiver Ferry (Greenpont/India Street) (btw: which has nice view to Manhattan). The Pizza is superb, the menu offers a great variety of different flavors and styles. It is a little bit dark inside, bring Ur glasses with U, the menu is a bit tiny.

Really nice oven baked pizza! Lots of toppings to choose from. I also liked the brownie with ice cream.Really cozy environment and friendly service.

And that is not a compliment. The pizza was great. Really creative names and ingredients and lovely to see it made right in front of your eyes. Paulie Gee was in the house the night we were there wandering around asking how we were all doing. Nice touch. The down side - dim lighting, so noisy you couldn't hear yourself think and impossible to carry on a conversation. There were small children in the restaurant and they should have been wearing those noise cancelling headphones to protect their hearing. On top of the crowd noise, they had music blaring! Yikes! I just don't get it, maybe I am just getting old (sixty this year). But really, who likes to shout at each other while dining out for gourmet pizza? Not me.

I've been here several times. It's always good to go when they open. It gets very crowded at night. Restaurant is dark but that helps you see the pizza cooking in the ovens! If you can't be in Italy, this is the a great alternative. I can't wait to go back when I'm in NYC for my next assembly.

Paulie Gee's is so popular you need to get there before they open to get right in. We got there half an hour after opening and had about a 50 minute wait. We went across the street for drinks while waiting. It was worth the wait, we were a group of 4 and we each ordered a different pizza so we could share. Each one was excellent and there was not a crumb left over.

Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Great ingredient combinations and real neapolitan crust makes this one of a kind. They only open from 6 pm to 11 pm and the wait is long, but well worth it. The place is beautiful and familiar, great service in every aspect. We ordered: Hellboy, Greenpointer, Montecristo, Hellified Porkpie and Cherry Jones. This last one is a must! Do include this place in your visit to Brooklyn.

Paulie Gee's is not an old school pizzeria. It is a modern day adaptation to traditional Neopolitan pies with a lot more freedom to go topping crazy. The digs are funky, refurbished and dim, with an incredible buzz throughout the dining room. This is a special place with ridiculously good pies.

We were welcome personally by Paulie. Nice touch. The team were very friendly and the service swift, efficient and fun on New Years Day even. No hangovers here. They were in good spirits and the pizza was great. Washed down with a glass of red. The place was busy and fun - all a perfect antidote to BIG celebrations that day and the night before.

The wait is long (2 hours on a saturday night). But the pizza is very good. If you want to try the real New York Pizza, go to this place.

Highly recommended by all the Brooklyn locals, this experience did not disappoint. Incredible food all around. Expect the usual NYC / Brooklyn queues if you arrive a bit late and expect a very dimly lit restaurant with simple decor. We would go back with no hesitation.

First time here after hearing about it for years. Place lived up to all of the hype - truly fantastic top-tier pizza with excellent ingredients and attention to detail. The service was 5 stars - our waitress was lovely and attentive. Was with 3 of my friends and we ordered 5 pies and two salads - got a chance to try a bit of everything this way. Every pie was awesome but i favored the Greenpointer - a red pie w raw greens on it. Had the good fortune to meet Paulie Gee himself who was roaming the floor and keeping a close eye on the proceedings - great to see an owner take such care in his product. Strongly recommended and i can't wait to visit again. T'Man '16

Hey guys, I came on a vacation trip from austria and looked this pizza place up on the internet. I heard that this place was a good one to eat pizza. My girlfriend and me came today at about 18:00 because we knew it would be crowded later on. Place looks nice, the service was ok, BUT THE PIZZA WAS BURNED TO A POINT WHERE U CANNOT EAT IT ANY MORE, BEACAUSE IT WAS BITTER and burned food is unhealty ( Cancerogenes and stuff, u know)!!! And the best thing is that all the other pizzas on the other tables looked the same. There was one guys pizza, it was so black that u coulnt make the diffence between the burned toppings on it. And belive me I have been to great pizza restaurants , even in Italy. I am not sure if it was just a bad day, but unfurtunatly today it was not eatable. I didnt make any complaints because I saw all the other pizzas which where as well burned... I would not reccomend the place... greets

Visited twice on a recent trip to Brooklyn, firstly for a take out - very good, albeit consumed 10 mins or so after being taken out of the oven. We were impressed enough to return however, and we did, on a Tuesday night, struck lucky by not having to wait for a table but the place was packed. Service friendly and efficient and the pizzas were beautiful, fantastic charred crusts, decent sized, gorgeous toppings abd plenty of choice. Read somewhere they make their own ricotta and if they do, well, it's seriously great. Reasonable choice of beers and wines, if you can manage a dessert they offer a few. All in, a great meal but two little points to mention....the music was great in genre (Doors, Buffalo Springfield ...) but a tad too loud, and also, lighting a little too dim/ambient :-) ...still, not enough to mar our over all score. Paulie was there too and made an effort to talk to all tables which was a lovely gesture..,clearly cares :-)

Reading all the different top 10 pizza in New York list I was confused where to go but I chose this on a recommendation from my hostel. I had the hell boy pizza with the spicy honey. Was great. Didn't have to wait at all as was on my own so happy to eat at the bar!

We loved this restaurant. It was definitely worth the trip out to Brooklyn. We all keep saying how good the pizza was. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, lively and upbeat. Really reasonable price and great service. Get yourself out there!

I understand its common to wait up to 2 hours to get a table at Paulie G's. I guess we can thank Winter Storm Riley for getting us seated right away. Although we were lucky we were seated right away, we felt invisible for at least 15 minutes thereafter. Other tables seated after us received drinks and gave food orders before our waitress said hello to us so we had plenty of time to look over the menu. The four of us decided to share three pies and that was good move. We especially enjoyed the Hellboy- tasty tomato sauce with just the right amount of heat, soprasto and finished with Mike's hot honey. Yum! I would definitley go back but probably at an off time.

We had three different pizzas and all were delizioso... the arugala schmugala, Hellboy, and King Harry classic. I ordered the last and loved it the most!! The Hellboy was a scrumptious combination of soppressata and hot honey. All the pizzas are thin crust and perfectly baked in a hot brick oven. One of the best pizzas I've ever had in the US. Definitely competitive with pizza in Italy. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Paulie Gee's has the reputation of having the "best pizza in Brooklyn" . . . so, I looked forward to going to Paulie Gee's and comparing it to Lou Malnati's and Giordano's in Chicago, which I consider the gold standard in pizza. Paulie Gee's (which is only open for dinner) is set in an unassuming location that looks like a warehouse scribed with graffiti when closed. However, when open, the restaurant front and interior of Paulie Gee's have a great mood to them, a glow that is dim and nicely lit by candle light. We ordered two pizzas -- the "Hellboy" (Mozzarella, Italian Tomatoes, Sopressata Piccante, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and hot honey) and the "Hometown Brisket" (Mozzarella, Beef Brisket BBQ, Pickled Red Onions and a Drizzle of BBQ Sauce). The Hellboy and Hometown Brisket pizzas were great and probably the most creative pizzas I have ever eaten. Actually, "creative" is probably the best descriptor for Paulie Gee's, while Fornino's Pizza (another great pizza a few blocks away which is open for lunch) can probably be best described as "simple goodness." Both make great pizzas and both are great choices. Were our Paulie Gee's pizzas as good as Lou Malnati's and Giordano's in Chicago? No, not really -- but, they were certainly great and worth a trip to Brooklyn just for dining experience as well as the taste and quality of the pizzas.

I love pizza. It's one of, if not, my favorite dish. That being said, I had no idea pizza could taste so good until I went to Paulie Gee's. I had the porkypineapple and for the love of all that is good in this world, it was the best pie I'd ever had! The crust is thin and chewy with a nice delicate balance between the speck and the pineapple. I went with two other friends. We each got a pie and were supposed to share but in the end, we didn't because we wolfed down our own pies to the point where nothing was left. Damn, it was good. Service was also really friendly and prompt and the atmosphere of the place is fun (no doubt, partially due to the great music). All in all...the best pizza I've had in NYC and I can't wait to go back.

The names and ingredient selections of the pizzas are incentive with vegetarian and vegan options as well as meats. The thin crust pizza dough is tasty with a good chew to it. There was not much difference between all the varieties. We ordered 4 pies and the flavor profiles were subtle. Our table ordered a Caesar salad that was great-crunchy with plenty of garlic flavor. We were served very competently and were able to find a good bottle of wine along with a local beer selection. A great local place to hang out with friends and share a few laughs and pizzas.

The pizza is pretty good but make sure you are aware of the topping you are getting. They have some different ideas when it comes to toppings so make sure you know what you are getting. Cool atmosphere but lackluster service.

After hearing rave reviews and always seeing Paulie Gee's finish in the top 10 best pizza's in NYC, I had to give it a shot. We ordered the hellboy pie, and let me say, we were not disappointed. This lovely concoction has spicy soprasetta and hot honey on it. I consider myself a pizza connoisseur and this immediately ranks into my top 5. Just a flat out delicious pie. Crust, toppings, sauce, all done perfectly. Paulie Gee himself also introduced himself to us and asked what we thought of the pizza. Classy move. Can't wait to go back.

We shared a lovely salad with blue cheese and then had two pizzas. Crusts were thin, there wasn't loads of cheese - great - freshly cooked, very interesting flavour combos and very tasty. Good value. Excellent craft beers. This is a busy, buzzing place and is to be recommended.

By far the best pizza I have every had! Cooked perfectly in a huge wood fired oven at the back of the dining area. Wonderful dollops of fresh ricotta cheese placed on top just before it comes to the table! Paired with a cold local IPA - perfection! We came only a few minutes after they opened for the evening so the place was empty - no wait at all. Prices were not bad for a place with such a reputation.

In the heart of Greenpoint, Brooklyn....you could walk or drive by and think it was closed....look closely and get there early as it gets packed...the pizzas are really great...there were 4 of us..one being a beautiful blonde 7 year old little lovey....we were very much welcomed and sat in the back next to the dough throwing counter...there were a myriad of different pies being ordered and each one looked succulent, making our mouths water...we had a lovely , fresh salad with parmesan reggiano and then they politely and ceremoniously served our perfectly baked little pizzas...the little one drew her version of the place...quite excellent, actually...and presented it to the amiable owner....after chatting with us for a while, he put the drawing on the wall for all to see....we've had pizza everywhere and these did not disappoint....it's a hip place but a sensible and friendly place...you can walk there from the G train...Greenpoint avenue station....

Everyone has their favorite pizza places and NYC certainly has its share. But Paulie Gee's is pretty wonderful. It is not just the setting, the quality of the thin crusted delicious pizza but the toppings. I urge everyone to try Mike's Hot Honey on top of either the pizza or the ice cream. A special product and created and produced by a wonderful guy who sometimes even works at Paulie's. So, go for it and enjoy!

I love Paulie Gee's and visit every time I stay with friends in Greenpoint. So many amazing pizza combinations to choose from! The Cherry Jones with vegan sausage and Ricky Ricotta are two favorites.

My fiancé and I went here for a vegan pizza. We didn't think it was anything worth waiting for (the night before we were told a 1 1/2 hour wait, so arrived early the next day). We have had much better vegan pizza and wouldn't return. Service was good, though.

The brick oven is amazing and the pizza is the closest to that I've had in Naples, Italy. The toppings and the slight char make this so delicious. All fresh ingredients, but it's the oven that is the key. The barn door look out front made me think I was at the wrong place. The tables are a bit close, but everyone is friendly . The owner stopped by to welcome us and tons us he is grim NJ. This place is the real deal and worth a trip for amazing authentic Italian pizza .

Hallo Folks, The Paulis was recommended by our landlord and we decided to try it. We were quite surprised by the atmosphere. It was absolutely dark and the menu was hard to read (due to the light). Next to this, it was loud. The pizzas are quite creative and not comparable to the classic Italian pizzas which are known by us. Tim

The place was packed with a wait of about 30 minutes. The salad was great. The pizza was nothing to write home to mom about. The music was so loud you could not carry on a conversation. Overall it was not a pleasant visit.

A great place to share time with loved ones, celebrating a milestone birthday, Food choice and quality excellent along with excellent service and music..

Consistently rated one of the best pizza places in NYC, Paulie Gee's is a must-eat spot. For the meat eaters, cherry jones, cherry jones, cherry jones. Plenty of good vegetarian options as well. Sure, you probably will have to wait 1.5 - 2.5 hours, but there are plenty of bars in the area (Ramona, for example) to pass the time.
Opium Den
I went to Paulie Gee's Pizza on rainy Tuesday evening at 6 pm,because I red about long lines. On the outside, the place looks like some speakeasy from the novels. The first thing was the overwhelming smell of some cleaning solution like Simple Green. The place is very dark-it looks like a junk yard.Paulie Gee was behind the bar.I was by myself-I always check the places out before I take somebody with me.I sat it the bar-the counter was gritty and grimy. After some time I was able to order house house red ( that did not taste like much ) and "Ricotta you kidding me "pizza.I went to see a famous neapolitan wood burning pizza oven in the back and saw a scrawny ,sad little man making the pizza in the dark " car shop" like space in the back. When the big pizza pie came,I was not able to lift it ,because the middle had a teksture of the wet paper towel. The edges was very charred and had extremely bitter taste ( and I love bitter-arugula,rocket,Grolsh beer, Frenet Branca digesiff- you name it ). The bar tender lady was very sweet, checked it out, went to the back and told me that they put the pizza on the wet tray-she told me that they are making a fresh pie,but I lost appetite). I don't understand ,why this place has such big rating ,with the food being inconsistent. That's a lot of chuzpah on the side of people commenting. I will definitely will not be back, before I check all the others from the top ten. They were very kind for not charging me for the pizza I couldn't possibly eat. I t is a great mystery ,why we have to choose between the corporate places, like Pizza Hut,where they pay workers below the living wage to achieve their 10 % profit and the independent hipster place, that probably do the same. Is this a choice ? At least ,when I go to MacDonalds in Paris or New York, I get the same, consistent quality. No surprises. I will search for good pizza until I find something decent.
