One of the nicer wine bars on the city, great place for after work meeting place. Nice by the glass selection, the meat and cheese boards are very generous. Highly recommended

I can cook better than the Italian served at this restaurant. If you want a quick, casual, Olive Garden quality meal with decent wine and a cooler atmosphere, this is the place.

Wow what a fabulous place. Comfortable but eclectic. Clean and very high end in appearance. No need to be a "know it all wine snob" here because the service you receive will educate you if you are unsure. Our professional server "Renney" was very detailed and educated about the selections offered. She was also attentive and kind. We told her what we like and she brought out some wonderful wines. We also asked her to choose for us for our Charcuterie Board and she did a fabulous job. This is a must do, they even offer some happy hour wine glass prices on day before opened bottles. Can't wait to go back.

Their pricing is predatory. I ordered a $23 glass of Chardonnay and was asked if I would like to "taste it" first. I agreed and was poured a taste no bigger than the tasting pour at any good restaurant. Later, my bill included a $8 charge for the taste. (I hadn't liked that wine and had ordered something else.) Additionally, the second wine I tasted, liked and purchased, generated a $7 tasting charge on my bill. Nowhere on the wine menu was I advised that there would be a charge for tasting. Nor was I advised of the tasting charge when I was offered a tasting. These were not mini servings, they were standard tasting pours. I don't usually complain, but every time I tell one of my friends about this experience they insist that I post a warning to others!

4 words : Get the veal chops. That's all you need to know. It is so delicious that I can't believe it's not a $30 plate. This is the best place to get great food when you Just want a casual, relaxing atmosphere (and without the outrageous price).

My new place to eat! Enjoyed a Sat. lunch with my husband. It was packed but the line went quickly. Fresh and delicious food, look like a popular place to eat by seeing how the line was constant and people were willing to wait. Looking forward to coming back to try the other menu items!

Been coming here for 15 years +/-. Would have come more often if the parking was better. Terrible parking situation. Have to say we have recently been extremely disappointed, especially the other night. My wife decided to try something new and got the meatball sliders. Yuck is a compliment. Bun was cold and stiff. I mean, seriously? Warm it up, or grill it, or something. It was terrible. It’s a cool place but the food is actually pretty mediocre. Sometimes the chicken on the salad is really good and fresh and worth the wait. But most of the dishes are pretty bland. And they hit you up for a tip at the register when there is no service other than behind the counter. The best thing about Paulie’s is the cookies. If you need some cookies for an event like a birthday party or a team snack, I highly recommend it.

This is a very popular eating place in our neighborhood. It has been around for quite some time. It's great for lunch - serving sandwiches, pasta, salads. It's friendly, happening, and fun to eat here. Good for families. Good for casual business lunches. I believe it's open for diner too, but I haven't been there for that yet.

I've been dining at Paulie's for years and I have always enjoyed it so I was happy when the wife suggested we go there last weekend. We decided to share the Bolognese and the Carbonara which were ready in about 15 minutes and it came with some bread. I usually really lobe the Bolognese, however, it seemed to lack the usual flavor from past visits. The Carbonara was very good, but I felt liked it lacked something that would have made it great. I think the bread came straight off the press as it was hot and tasty. We had 1 glass of wine and the bill came to $55.00, which I think is fair for the portions received. Not great, but good. We will return in the future to give Paulie's another chance.

I'm visiting from the UK again, and just wanted some good Italian food. This place was recommended to me, and I took my teenage son who is with me on this trip, as we both love Italian food. He had the rigatoni bolognese and I had the chicken parmesan. I tried the pasta and it was good, though I didn't think the beef was of the highest standard. As for mine, the parmesan was not that tasty, but I liked the chicken. The shrimp pasta that was supposed to accompany it didn't actually have any shrimp, which was disappointing. The problem was the delay in getting the food and the fact it was getting near closing time, so we made do. So, not up to the standard that had been recommended, but pleasant enough. Good but not great.

No fresh fettuccine... so so restaurant. Fresh spaghetti and fresh rigatoni are good. I asked similar fettuccine noddle, but they said they don't have it.

They make their own pasta and supply other restaurants in Houston. Think about a way to taste as many dishes as you can. Bring friends and make your own tapas meal. Some great ones to put on your list are: Veal Chops & Spaghetti Caesar--Veal Chops topped with Mushroom Sauté, served with Spaghetti Caesar. They put a nice char on the chop. The regular is two chops so it a great order to share. Canestri alla Funghi-- Crimini & Shiitake Mushroom, Garlic, Sage & Marsala Cream. Fusilli Pasta with Pesto-- Calamata Olives, Pine Nuts & Parmesan Cheese. The wines on their list are great finds from around the world and are fairly priced.

We went at 6 on a MOnday by 7 most of the locals had come to eat. The venue is nicely done, there is the sunlight of the sun setting and noise level is low. The outdoor seating is too close to heavy traffic on WEsheimer--yipes! We had mushrom soup-- nicely chunkjy but underspiced and the pork sandwhich-- yummy! the chocolate cake was delish! Wine is available-also cucumber water is offered. It was a relaxing vibe-- You order at the counter and the staff is very friendly. It might be a bit dicey finding parking after 7.

My husband and I happened upon this place as we drove around trying to find a non-chain and it was wonderful! Great food and wonderful atmosphere!! It won't disappoint!

Be forewarned! Some of their full-sized dishes are big enough for two people!! I can't remember the name, but I think it is Shrimp Fettuccine that was gloriously huge, and really really good. I also like their spaghetti and meatballs - a basic classic.

Crowded on Saturdays, but not impossible to get a table. Nice counter staff. Ordered a bowl of mushroom soup and light salad. Both were generous portions. The mushroom soup was hearty and loaded with mushroom bits. I'd order this again. The Gorgonzola dressing was excellent!

First, I love the space - great seating areas, nice atmosphere... I really like what they've done. Only gripe is it the cold A/C but, hey, I can cope. What I really truly like about Camerata is the wine list. You can tell a great deal of thought was put into it with a particular emphasis on great and lesser known (here) Italian wines like Nerello Mascalese, Schiava, Pecorino, etc. We love those but then really enjoyed getting into their finer Marsala and the rare but delicious Vino di Visciole from Morro d'Alba. Can't wait to go back and try something new.

Paulie's is my wife's favorite pasta restaurant. It's a no-nonsense walk-up service pasta restaurant, where you walk up fast-food style to order, but the pasta is really good. Honestly, if you order a full plate, you can probably split it with someone and walk away fully satisfied. Well prepared, very good pasta, and Texas sized portions as well. Don't forget their infinite refill lemonade... We always enjoy Paulies, and love their pasta.

We were out shopping on Westheimer and happened upon Paulie's after looking it up on tripadvisor. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table, but we didn't mind. there were 4 of us, and we ordered the following: One ordered the Caesar Salad with chicken---which was crispy, and fresh. One ordered the rigatoni--which was so good ( we all tasted it)...It was absolutely delicious!! The third person ordered a salad also. I ordered a fruit salad, which looked so beautiful on the plate. Paulie's was worth the wait!! Make sure that you try it...

My bosses have been raving about this restaurant for a very long time. I'm not sure why I couldn't ever find the time to get here but I made time today and I'm so glad I did! I had the Big Salad accompanied by steamed broccoli and a nice cup of freshly brewed hot tea. It was exactly what I was looking for! Unfortunately I wasn't able to try the mouth-watering cookies but this will defninetly not be my last stop!

Paulie's is one of my favorite hidden gems in the Montrose area. It's a quaint little Italian restaurant joint with great food! There Chicken Piccata is amazing and they always have the cutest iced cookies.

Great cookies, excellent pasta, nice selection of red wine. Friendly and helpful service. I felt a kindred spirit to some neighborhood places in LA. Highly recommended!

Went here with 2 others on a Monday evening and the place was pretty busy. You go to the counter, order and find a table or vice versa. Or that's how it's meant to work. You have a bunch of tables where the customers have finished dinner and drinks and just sit there with a glass of water chatting on and on and on... And once you finally get a table and wish to order drinks or anything else, you head off to the counter again and wait and wait and wait. Do the girls behind the counter understand that all those people in line are waiting to buy stuff, and not just there for a laugh? And that it's nice to chat to your friends, but how about taking orders, because presumably that's what the owner and customers would like? We had Pizza Della - GREAT, Chicken Piccata - GOOD, Fetuccini Marinara - GOOD, and wanted the meatloaf, but only after asking were told it was all gone. Had some other chicken dish instead, which was also GOOD. The food was good value at around 15 bucks per and the wines were nice, BUT as a rule, customers don't appreciate standing in line in a restaurant for 15 minutes waiting to order while the staff are just chatting. My veal chop with pasta was excellent! Loved that you could order small or regular portions on all items. Nice selection of pastas, salads and entrees (salmon, veal chop, steak). You order at the counter and they'll deliver to your table. Very informal setting. Lots of follks coming in to order take-out. Wouldn't recommend the cookies even though they're beautiful.

Panini Petronella with upgraded side of spaghetti caesar, puttanesca, and bottle of Chianti makes a perfect lunch. Great counter staff and table service crew.

Paulie's is a casual Italian restaurant located right on Westheimer that sports traditional Italian dishes and a simple yet perfectly-paired wine list, all within a family-friendly atmosphere.

We had a great lunch here on Saturday afternoon. The weather was nice so we sat at one of the few outdoor tables. There was a bit of traffic going by so the street noise level was above average. Otherwise this was a great choice. We each ordered a sandwich, my husband had the Italian hoagie and I had a Panini with mozerella, tomato and basil pesto. Both were so tasty. The sides were homemade pasta salad and homemade potato salad. I loved my pasta salad that had celery, artichokes, olives and feta. It was my favorite part of the meal. We also ordered a cup of mushroom soup to sample, and that was so good as well. It did need a touch of salt, but it was tasty none the less. We were immediately greeted by a friendly girl at the register who helped us decide on our lunch choices, and also talked us into the happy hour beer special. I mean at basically buy one get one free she really had to twist our arms on that one ;) Overall, it was a fantastic, tasty and affordable lunch. We will return.

I highly recommend this little restaurant. From the street it reminds me of a little diner but inside you will find very sophisticated food at a reasonable price. It is a favorite of locals so unless you go in the middle of the afternoon be prepared to wait in line. Be assured, the food is worth waiting for and you will not be disappointed with anything on the menu which is posted on the wall. Be sure to try a peanut butter cookie dipped in chocolate!!

This is such a great place for lunch love the soup and panini special. I got the mushroom soup with Pizzitola panini I like the tea and Ginger lemon aid Mixed together. The cookies are amazing!

Adore this little place off Westheimer in Montrose. Excellent staff with friendly service. They have a little bit of everything from salads to pizzas (darn good crust) to dinners and sandwiches. We like the casual atmosphere with decent wine and beer options. They even have a dessert cas e with fresh made on the premises desserts. The chocolate peanut butter cookie is yum! Wouls love to spend my bday here again.

I always have a good meal here. This time we tried the simple and tasty spaghetti and meatballs and a panini. Both were great and came out quickly. The parking out back can fill up quickly so its better to come on the early side.

Where have they been all my life? Excellent pasta and sauces! Great customer service and excellent Italian wine! Centrally located. They were very accommodating. Fresh food so well done. Casual and comfortable. Fast service. The mozerella was fresh. Our favorite place now! Can't wait to bring our son back. Pastas are made fresh and they are excellent. I was so relaxed, I didn't want to leave. The Italian sausage was very good.

When I am in Houston I always meet friends at Paulie's on Westheimer Rd. The service is fast, the food is good (always) and the price is fair. It was/is a great place to meet old friends and spend an hour or so talking and enjoying a nice meal. Next time I'm in Houston I will be eating at Paulie's.

The food is awesome you just have to get your tray. Veal chop 5 star dining pastas excellent. No the wine list is not super high end but the price is more than fair.

Great selection of foods at reasonable prices. Salads are super good. Large salads are like $8 or $9. Large is not a good description. They are HUGE!!! Awesomely good. Heard their poorboy's are even better. They have cucumber water...yummy. I had the family Italian salad....excellent salad. The staff was wonderful. We ordered at the counter. We got there right at a good time because shortly after us there was a line out the door all night. As we ordered we got one of those light up things to let us know when our food is ready. You pick up food at the other end of the counter. But I did see some people getting their food delivered to them later. Very friendly staff. The only down parts were parking and waiting for a table. They have a small dining room. I don't think it would be suitable for large groups. I didn't see any large tables. They do have outdoor seating...small...just for two people. So, you have to really watch for open tables while you are waiting for your food or get someone to watch while you order for them. Parking lot behind the building fills up fast. There is parking on the street and 1/2 block away. But the food is sooooo good...you forget about all that once you start eating. They have sandwiches, salads, pasta's and more.

We love Paulies. The food and service are always great. You need to be prepared for a wait for the food and because it's so popular there is limited seating. They have a lovely wine bar next door so we go there and have a glass of wine while we wait. The food is really worth the wait.

I had read a review in the Houston Chronicle about Paulie's last year, but just got there recently. What does my title mean? The food was really good, it didn't take long, but it is made from great ingredients that you would find in an upscale restaurant. The service was friendly and comfortable: you order at the counter and then they call you when it is ready. I asked about a wine I had not tried before and they gave me a taste - more than accommodating. We settled on smaller portions of salad and pasta. So much food... but really good. I had the shells with mushrooms (very creamy and rich mushroom taste) while my husband tried the spicy spaghetti dish (too hot for me but he was enchanted). Our salads were huge and tasty. The best part of my summer salad was the exquisite pecorino cheese on top. I took much of my meal to go in a recyclable paperboard box (many bonus points for sustainability) and got a key lime tart to go. The tart was the only disappointment. It was creamy and smooth but lacked a bit of oomph in the tart lime flavor. Would we go back? Absolutely. Next time, I will try a cookie which I have heard are terrific. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable: you could stop in with the kids, a date, or a business lunch/dinner

We stopped at Paulie's on a recent trip to Houston. It was recommended by a local for a good, reasonably priced lunch. The food was really good and the cookies were great. Ordering is done at the counter, and you are called when the food has been prepared. The counter service was really good. If you are looking for table service, this is not your place. If you are looking for good food, this may be a spot for you.

This restaurant is always busy and there is a reason why. The dishes remind me of eating in Italy because the flavors are robust and true to their taste. Something as simple as spaghetti and meatballs taste so good at Paulie's. Their tomato sauce is lovely and the meatballs are tender. My favorite is the Rigatoni Bolognese with a ginger lemonade and a sugar cookie. My husband's favorite is the osso bucco but that is only a special one day a week. If you get a pizza, you will not want to share. I don't know who decorates the sugar cookies but they take such care in their details.

What a great place to meet friends for lunch. On my recent trip to Houston we once again went to Paulie's on Wertheimer and once again enjoy the company and the meal. Excellent service and top quality food at a reasonable price. Great location!

seared tuna sandwhich with wasabi mayo - oh so good.

This might not be a great place but it is VERY good and in a really good location. Lunch with friends - you can always count on quality and good service. I travel to Houston 2 or 3 times a year and make it a point to stop by for lunch.

Great home made food! Great large salad with chicken. Great little place, friendly and chic. The service is always friendly and kind!

This is a great little place. Food is wonderful. BUT, the sweets counter is unbelievable. And oh, the decorated cookies

Paulie's is an institution in my opinion. Best homemade pastas and hand selected wine. Best value in town as all their dishes are large enough to share amongst 2-3 people. Favorites are Lasagna on Tuesdays, expresso everyday and the lamb chops. Check out their daily specials!

Not only are these iced cookies gorgeous, but they are the most delicious ones anywhere. At $3 each, you expect it to be perfect and this is about as close as it gets. Every cookie should be a party/celebration in itself like Paulie's cookies!

Amazing food and cute place! The food here was incredible! We had fettuccine Alfredo and pasta bolognese. Not only that but the bread and desserts were awesome. Highly recommend the raspberry sandwich or the chocolate chip cookie. Would highly recommend!

We were quite pleased with the food at Paulie's on our first visit last night. The staff was friendly and helpful. I love that we had a choice of a smaller portion for a lesser price. We ordered the smaller portions and they were still a little too large and filling for one person. My daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo and said it tasted like Europe (quite the compliment!), but then tasted my spaghetti Caeser and said she would order that next time. It was spectacular! Fresh and light and delicious. I hope we can get it by itself. It was the side to the veal chop, which was cooked perfectly. Everything needed a little salt to our tastes, but we like salty food, so we don't mind having to add some at the table. The glasses of red wines that we ordered were too expensive. We shared a large, warm, moist chocolate cake that was delicious. I will go again!

Driving in Montrose area looking for a new place to eat with my family. We saw diners eating outside and circled back - what a great decision! Pros - excellent food with great taste (I had the Italian sausage panini) huge portions (French fries and Mediterranean pasta salad sides were both very tasty), staff could not have been nicer, clean, great ambience for conversation, fair value Cons - None! We loved everything about this quaint restaurant and we will definitely be back.

Paulie's is a popular neighborhood deli/restaurant that has been in the same location for many years. You order at the counter and are given a device that notifies you when your order is ready. On my most recent visit at 5:30 pm for an early dinner, the place was freezing, which made it very uncomfortable. The portions are fairly large here, and it's often better to take advantage of their 1/2 order sizes, which they offer on many items. Our table had their panzanella salad, which needed more croutons and more parmesan cheese. Their chicken piccata is outstanding and was definitely our favorite. A panini with tomato, basil, goat cheese was good, but nothing special. It was served with a mediterranean pasta salad that was quite tasty. Although they have pizza on their menu, I would not order it here as there are so many outstanding pizza places in this neighborhood (specifically, Pizarro's on West Grey). Even with the parking lot, parking can be somewhat of a problem in this busy neighborhood. They have nightly specials (eg meatloaf on mondays, eggplant parmesan another night, etc).

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Decor & Style: 3/5 A very quaint, cozy place to enjoy wine and cheeses. Not a place to get rowdy but to really enjoy the snacks and wine. The decor feels like it's from the 80's lol.

What a neat little restaurant! You order at a counter and pick up your food when it is ready. I really like that most dishes come in small and large sizes. Small is perfect for lunch or a light dinner, large is a generous serving. The menu is big enough to have something for everyone, but not so big as to be intimidating. In addition to food they have a wine list. All at reasonable prices. Parking can be a bit challenging - the lot behind them isn't big, so you might have to look for parking on the street.

First you have to go to the staff to get your table and this is such a nice moment, they are great, friendly, professional and will give you excellent advices ! The Wine is very tasty, especially the white one (I recommend the Moscato). The food is good and the portions are perfect. Great Time at Paulie's !

We have the menu memorized! Spinach salad, Chicken Piccata or Veal Chop, followed by Key Lime Tart. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

the chicken saltimbocco was out of this world--fresh green salad had mint in it! you might have to be a local to know about this place, but go ahead, and try it. Typical of a lot of places in Texas, you order and get it when it's ready -- so i assumed bc it was so casual, the food would be only average. boy, I was wrong, my husband had a veal chop and was similarly impressed. Go easy on the amounts ordered---you'll get a LOT.

I have only been to Paulie's a few times, but it is impressive. I generally don't like restaurants where you stand in line to order (and at peak times the line is long), but the food is fresh and delicious and so worth it! The portions are huge and the staff is great. Parking is difficult, but in that neighborhood, you have to expect it. I have not tried the desserts, but by judging the reactions of my dining companions, their desserts are worth the calories.

We came in for a late lunch.. casual place but nice. Good atmosphere - very relaxed. Order at the counter.. pick the food up at the counter. Baked goods and coffee.. Now the food.. rigatoni and bucatini.. both were amazing. I hadn't had pasta that good since an earlier trip I took to Italy. Rigatoni was rich, creamy and extremely flavorful. The bucatini was spicy with sweet cherry tomatoes and ground veal. Both were perfect. What makes the place so good is that they hand make their pastas in house and make the sauces to order from scratch. The folks in the kitchen know what they are doing.. it's no wonder this place has been here so long.

Paulie’s offers a complete Italian menu with something for everyone. Panini, salads, soups, pasta dishes, and entrees were all here along with desserts, coffee, wine and sangria. We tried the pepperoni pizza and Shrimp Po Boy lunch special, which were both really good. The bread here is fantastic, the shrimp tasted fresh and the pizza crust was on point. They do half price glasses of wine from 12-4pm and the Barossa I had was nice. They have a great selection of cookies too. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. It may be best to go here when you aren’t in a hurry though. We waited in line at least 10 minutes to order and our food took more than 20 minutes to come out. Pastas seemed to come out quicker though.

This is a consistent above average food for their grilled vegetables, Italian pastas and sandwiches.

This is such a wonderful place for lunch! They have great pastas and panini's, I love the ginger lemonade and ice tea. I also like the cookies

Have only been here once. Not bad.

Their quality is consistent at this neighborhood restaurant. Large portions but you can choose the smaller portion. It’s counter-served and normally quite fast. Their salads and pastas are good, my favorite is the Primavera Aglio e Olio, grilled veggies with fusilli al dente. They have also good sandwiches and paninis. I like their ginger lemonade. Open all day but closed on Sunday. .

They put a nice char on the chicken and chops. The wines on their list are great finds from around the world and are fairly priced. Happy hour offers ½ priced glasses on open bottles and a red and a white bottle at half price. Order at the counter and take a beeper to your table. Study the menu before you go. Great quality and value. An interesting note: they make their own pasta.

Paulie's is always pleasantly busy. The homemade pasta is delicious and the staff are very sensitive to allergies. We frequently drive across town to eat here. Delicious. Great selections of desserts and coffee, too.

This neighborhood eatery has stood the test of time. Good sandwiches, some pasta dishes and daily chef's specials. Popular for lunch and dinner. Happy hour wine prices. It's often crowded and requires some waiting around. The grilled tuna sandwich is tasty. I don't prefer their style of potato salad or pasta salad.

We wanted pasta on St. Joseph’s Day and this is homemade pasta. They are very accommodating because I don’t eat cheese. We had a great meal with great wine and even picked up a cookbook which I can’t wait to use.

Unique diner style restaurant. Order at the counter. Great menu, excellent food, good wines. Salads, sandwiches, pastas. Staff very friendly and very efficient.

Great for lunch or dinner. My favorite is the Chicken Piccata - recommend asking for the thick butter sauce on the side. The yummy potato salad is great with their sandwiches, though. Staff is super nice about letting you have a taste of wine before committing to a selection. The desserts are, thankfully, in a side counter so temptation comes after you've already ordered at the front. The lines get long, tables hard to snatch during prime times. Go for a late lunch, early dinner. Just wish they were open on Sunday!

have been to Paulie's once before, years ago, and thought it charming with pretty good food. Last night, however, was a disaster. My husband ordered their Pork Loin Chop on a bed of mixed greens with Parmesan potatoes. I ordered Penne & Shrimp Genovese. We waited 25 minutes for our dinners while watching many who came after us get and finish their dinners. Finally, the dinners arrived. The pasta was good, but too hot to eat...the few shrimp in the dish were fresh and not overly cooked. My husband got a beautiful, big pork chop that was cooked so much that it looked and tasted like cardboard. We have never returned a meal in a restaurant, but after he tried two bites from two different areas of the chop, he returned to the counter and asked for another. The cook was defensive and reluctant to take it back. He asked how my husband wanted the second chop cooked. When my husband said "medium", he was informed that the first one was medium. So, he said, make it "medium rare". As we waited another long, slow 25 minutes, we could here two men laughing and cutting up in the kitchen about "medium" and "medium rare". Finally the second chop arrived (now we've been waiting for more than 1 1/2 hours and my too hot dish is cold and we have been sharing it). This chop was not nearly as pretty a cut of meat, much thinner, and amazingly, cooked just as dry as the first one! This one was so hard around the outer edges, it was inedible. So, since we had already eaten my meal and had intended to share the chop, we ate about 1/4 of the least cooked areas. No one ever bothered to come out and ask how the second chop was cooked. Finally I flagged down a table busser (literally had to speak up quit loudly to get him to even look at us) and asked for a manager. No manager he says...call back Monday. Soon a young man came from the back. I asked who he was, he said "the closest thing to a manager". We explained the problem and in all fairness, even though we said we didn't want anything other than someone to fix the problem in the kitchen, he did present us with a $40 gift certificate. The dilemma is whether we want to go back to use the certificate since this experience was so bad. Oh, and the "closest thing to a manager" said they used to have the same problem with beef but started using a thermometer. My husband asked if they had take the temp of the pork and was told, yes, they pull pork off at 145. Pulling it at 145 means that the temp will be 165 or higher once it finishes resting...that is not medium or medium rare...why ask how he wanted the second one cooked if the cook can't pull if off at a lower temp? Oh, and the Parmesan potatoes on the side were al dente boiled red potatoes with a very heavy cream sauce that didn't taste of Parmesan. They stayed uneaten also. Too bad, it is a charming looking restaurant if there was only someone there to control the cook.

The food at Paulie's is fantastic; we loved coming with our kids, ages 10-16. It's on Westheimer, so we expected it to be a little pricey, which it was, but it was worth it and we'd come again!

Bf and I have been in search for a good Italian place in Houston for a long time. Tried out Paulies and it was pretty good. I loved the gazpacho! Delicious!!! My chicken parm was standard fare but the bf left hungry. Had to go find a snack later.

Thursday is Osso Bucco night and get there early before they run out. Great price with wonderful flavor. Remaining entrees are excellent as well. Hard to get a bad meal and at a good price as well.

We eat here regularly, every time we visit family in Houston. Reliably efficient, flavorful, healthy, affordable, and comfortable. Recommended for singles, couples and families.

We've done lunch and dinner at Paulie's and often bring our friends and family here when they're in town. I've had pastas, spinach salad and paninis (Pizzitola and Principe) here, and they've all been great. And they make great leftovers. The Principe panini may be my favorite. My husband loves the Bucatini Amatraciana pasta, but they will warn you that it is pretty spicy. The price is right for everything. We don't like the self-serve cucumber water, so we always ask for tap water at the counter. The place does get a little crowded at main meal time, so you may have to wait for a table after you order at the counter. It's closed on Sundays, which is of course when we always want to go.

For a quick very good meal is place is great. The food, service, atmosphere and price are all great.

Camerata is located on Westhiemer a few blocks east of Shepherd. The atmosphere is casual and the wall facing the street is all windows which let plenty of like in from the street. I liked the lighting as it gave it an very open feel to the bar. The seating was made up of a mix of pub tables, couches, regular tables and of course bar seats around the bar. A waiter at Mockingbird Bistro had described this as the best wine bar in Houston so I had high expectations. My wife and I go to a lot of wine bars so I have an idea of what I a looking for at a wine bar. Maybe I am being unrealistic but I was disappointed in the wines by the glass that were available as there was only about 7 whites and 7 reds, which is a fine number for a little bistro, but I would like to see 15 or more reds for a wine bar. The red menu seemed very pinot noir heavy to me and I am not a fan of pinot (I have had some good one to be sure, but they seem to be much more hit or miss to me than cab/cab blends). The bottles in the $50 to $60 range did not seem to be that plentiful on the menu, as there were a lot of over $100. The waiter said that the wine menu did turn over fairly often especially with the wines by the glass. There were a lot of selections from France and Italy and they both make great wine, but I would have enjoyed a few more from Napa/California as I don't recall seeing many at all. There was only one bathroom that was shared by both men and women so there was a small line for half the time I was there although I did not have to wait overly long. The waiter was knowledge and very friendly as he humored me with all of my questions about Camerata and their wine menu. We had the Sleight of Hand Cellars, a cab blend from Washington. It was good, but did not compare to a Bordeaux I had at dinner at a different establishment. If it was the only wine I had that night it is quite possible I would have a much higher impression of it as it certainly wasn't bad. Overall I liked the place well enough to come back, but it would not be my first choice to get a glass of wine.

Paulie's is the 3rd best walk-up and order place inside the Loop according us us. It has good value and is great for a weekday meal.

After being paleo for over two years, I have told myself I didn't miss pasta. What I haven't missed is regularly prepared store-bought pasta. The pasta at Paulie's is deliciously hearty and almost nutty in flavor. I had the shells with garlic and broccoli - in a half-portion which was huge! - and it was delicious. Hubby had a pasta with meat sauce and liked it as well. Of course, we couldn't go to Paulie's without having dessert. A peanut butter cookie and a cheesecake brownie as well as a serving of Cloud 10 ice cream and we had to be rolled out of here. The service was so warm and friendly at the counter. Highly recommended!

I had dinner here last week on Monday and took advantage of that being Meatloaf night. A full serving is $16 and comes with a salad, mashed potatoes and some bread. I believe they offer a smaller serving for less money. They have a dedicated parking lot behind the restaurant that had a security guard. My salad came out first in about 5 minutes after ordering. It was a good mixed salad that served as a nice appetizer. The entree arrived about 10 minutes after ordering. The meatloaf had a red sauce draped over it. I have had this dish before a few years ago and it seems it's about the same. It was good to eat but I could grade it no more than a 3. I have had better meatloafs than this tastewise. Portionwise it was an adequate size. The mashed potatoes were also good with some slight lumps in it. The bread was very thin and buttered. I forgot to take any pictures. I realize Paulie's is a popular neighborhood type of Italian restaurant that I have visited 3-4 times over the past years but I honestly cannot remember a meal that I have had that would rate above or below a 3 in my opinion. A reliably standard restaurant but not one that pops in my mind when I am hungry.

Visited with our three teenage boys. You order at the counter and when ready have to pick up the food at the counter as well (did not like this part of the service). Counter person Audrey was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We all had pasta dishes and the portions abundant and excellent food quality. They do have a 50% discount on beer and wine from 1-4 PM. We will be back to enjoy the great food again.

For many years we have had consistently good food here- just as good this time. Order at the counter and enjoy your meal. There is a limited selection of wine- and great Bellinis. They also have gorgeous seasonal cookies.

Bestpastadish very copious and wonderful fresh vegetables. Fast well served food and delightful staff that was very helpful

Good, simple Italian food. Nice portions for the money, fresh and tasty. Great neighborhood restaurant. At 8 people were lined up at the counter for dinner. Paulie's is a order at the counter restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Good food, quaint deli shop right on westheimer...good on a day of shopping.

My husband and I loved Paulies when his parents ran the restaurant but when they retired and the son took over we quit going. He was so rude. I asked him a question about the meal and he responded telling us never to come back, No excuse for that behavior. After my husband passed away I decided to try the restaurant again because Paulie was rarely there. Today I ate there and found out they are now charging a $.75 for condiments. That is nothing but ridiculous. That is on top of raising prices. It will serve Paulie right if he loses customers. I will not go back.

I picked this place based on Google photos. The dishes looked very similar to the ones I had in Italy. I was not disappointed. The pasta was great and even my wife and uncle loved it. The spice was a bit high on a couple of dishes, but I heard that is what the locals like. The small portions are very big so make sure to share. I'll be back whenever I travel to Houston.

I love this cafe in Houston with a great variety of Italian dishes and hand made pasta. The dishes are huge so unless you want some to take home you can order a half serving and have plenty. They have all kinds of wonderful drinks and fresh iced tea and lemonade. Order at the counter and then pick up and take to your table. Worth waiting for!

We discovered this place about a year ago and go there quite frequently. The food is good and fresh and the staff is very friendly. It does get crowded during late evening hours because the place is small. But the small area is cozy and comfortable when you can get a table. Also the cookies are wonderful as well. Great place!

Our AirBnB host recommended Paulie's for lunch. I had a yummy goat cheese & veggie sandwich with some nicely spiced gazpacho. You order at the counter and your meal is brought to you. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to some dietary requests we had.

Quaint bistro, good beers, happy hour is noon to 4pm. Wife had a Buffalo Bayou Great White Buffalo and 1/2 Spinach salad topped with sushi grade tuna. I had a Stone Go To IPA and the lunch special 1/2 Petronella panini and side Caesar. We split a decorated short bread cookie. Definitely a new favorite place. We might come back for an evening meal too. I saw that they also do box lunches for meetings and events.

Ok folks if you want some from scratch pasta and amazing sauce then head to Paulie's! The salads are amazing and the chicken parmesan is fantastic! There are special throughout the week and the desserts are amazing! This is a treasure of a find and I highly recommend finding a couple of buddies and splitting some pasta! You will not be disappointed! It was as good as any of the fresh pasta I have eaten in Italy on the 6 trips there in my career!

I've been back to Paulie's twice now, when staying in Houston. The menu is quite extensive and has something for everyone. The food is outstanding and is very reasonable. There are many great little touches, like the cucumber chilled water that is complimentary and the ginger peach tea is superb. I had the chicken scallopine and the lemon sauce was perfection. They also have a great little bakery section with good desserts. You order at the counter and then take a seat. It's no frills with amazing food that won't empty your wallet. I love this place.

Camerata at Paulie's is just the sort of place I've been waiting for in Houston. I've been to Camerata twice now and thoroughly enjoyed myself on each occasion. My first experience was for after-work drinks with a friend, and a second time for a private, invite-only wine event held by a friend in town from California promoting his winery (check out Sarocka wine!). My review is primarily based on my first visit, as this was my only real interaction with waitstaff and the bar in it's intended glory. My friend Evelyn and I plopped down at two bar stools, front and center, and asked for a menu. Our server/bartender Hayley (same name, same spelling, and also named after Hayley Mills - kindred spirits!) let us know that the most economical option for us would be to drink from the already-open bottles, normally fairly expensive, which were uncorked earlier that day by some big wigs who were likely dripping with money. Hayley asked our wine preferences (mine: heavier reds; Evelyn: liquor (ha!), but she eventually settled on white). She poured us each a taste. I enjoyed mine immediately - a Marques de Murrieta Reserva 2007 - but it took Evelyn a few tries to find a white one that wasn't too sweet for her taste. I had already looked at the food menu online, so I was aware that they only served cheese/charcuterie boards, probably so as not to detract from sales at Camerata's sister (or brother...?) restaurant Paulie's next door. We opted for the 2 cheese/2 meat plate (sourced from Houston Dairymaids!), which was very satisfying and came with olives, roasted almonds, bread and an apricot jam. We drank fairly slowly, only 2 glasses each over a 3 hour period, but we never felt rushed to leave. Even after we paid our tab, Hayley was kind enough to refill our water glasses as we finished catching up. If I had any suggestions for Camerata, it would be that the food menu could be *slightly* expanded to include a couple more small plates like a pretzel, caprese salad, some dark chocolate or other easy-to-plate

We live ~45 minutes from Houston, and like to spend leisure time there. After a movie and a few errands we spotted this place on a search for a wine bar in the vicinity, The employees are quietly hospitable and extremely knowledgeable about the wines. The snacks are good. This will be a regular stop for us to sample things we've never tried.

So we have tried this place 3 times coz we liked the vibe in this place (and neighbourhood). But most of the hot vegetarian food (pastas and panini) is tragically oily... Thier cold pasta salad, soup and salad are still fine, but I would pass for the sheer amount of oil they load up.

I've been a regular for 15 years (before they served burgers) and the other evening my husband brought home dinner. I found a long hair tangled in my chicken salad. I called to let them know, they had my name and number cause it was take-out. Lady said the manager would call. It's been TWO weeks and no call. So disappointing. Had I gotten a phone call apologizing I wouldn't even have thought about writing this reviews.

I went with my daughter and fiancé for a Friday night dinner. We ordered the Nonna pizza(I think that is the name) and Salmon sandwich. It took over 35 minutes and when we asked about the order the employee told us they were waiting on the pizza. Remarkably it appeared 5 minutes later. The pizza was cold and it tasted like it was out of a box with arugula thrown on top of it. The salmon was OK. Guess we should have ordered the pasta.

You might pass this place if you were not looking for it. But it is so worth the visit. The staff are great and very knowledgeable about the wines they serve. There's a happy hour I think from 5-7. We really enjoyed sharing a cheese plate too. Went back for a seond visit and still enjoyed the same level of service. Not super busy when we were there, but really enjoyed the ambience

Atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. Good place to go for good food and conversation. I had a salad, tomato soup, and pasta. All of it is very good.

If you like Tiny Boxwoods, you'll love Paulie's. In the interest of full disclosure, I have to say I like 'em both, even though both are rock solid "Rich Women's Walking Club" kinda places and I'm not a member. I think I like Paulie's just a bit better. Their pastas are great and the wines by the glass are a nice variety. I had an Aglianico, which you don't find everywhere. I tried fusilli pasta with pesto, pine nuts, and kalamata olives, which was just really first class ... as good as I've had in Italy. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Also, the servings are large. One of the reviewers had mentioned this (thank you) and so I ordered the "lighter" portion. It was a dinner plate full of pasta - plenty for a late lunch after a hard-fought deposition with a tough witness on a beautiful South Texas Friday. I'll be back!

We found Paulie's last year on our trip to Houston and returned this year intent on going back to the same restaurant. I had the grilled vegetables and my hubby had a pasta (restaurant made pasta) dish. Amazing!! The wait was indicative of a popular restaurant. We love the reasonable prices, the menu variety, and the diverse crowd.

Paulie's has what you want if it is Italian. We had some nice pasta dishes and the roasted salmon. It was all tasty. They also have pizza, paninis, cold sandwiches, soups & salads. They have a lot of cookies and other dessert items. Nice place - give it a try.

Probably the best burger I've ever had in Houston Texas. The rest of the family had salad fruit and pizza. All was absolutely fresh and wonderfully presented. The cookies for dessert were over-the-top as well. Especially enjoyed the taste of the Nonna pizza. Great place with wonderful helpful staff. Don't miss this place.

Excellent food, I gave it an ave score because the only thing we didn't care for was when their Square register was turned to us for signature there were 3 large boxes, 15%, 18% and 20% tips center screen. Small print for no thanks or custom tip. Surprised they were expecting a tip, before we even ate and determined quality of service and food, etc. Little tacky we thought, there is no customer service away from the counter. But we'll be back for the food again.

We are excited to have discovered Paulie's. We were looking for something quick and excellent (two things that don't often go together), and Paulie's delivered. We were surprised that you place your order at the front, but the board-menu looked comprehensive, and our cashier was very knowledgeable about the wines on offer. We took our buzzer, sat down, and waited for lunch. Our pastas (Primavera and Fettucine Alfredo) were served hot and perfect, and our wines were perfectly paired. Can't ask for much more than that, and it didn't take up our whole day. We were very pleased and will be back!

Paulies is a casual lunch/dinner cafe-like relaxed place. The food is definitely more 'real' tasting than most of the places I have eaten in Houston. Paulies has different portion sizes to choose from which is great and the selection of flavoured waters are brilliant (my particular favourite is the lemon and ginger). I had the pesto pasta pesto the other day which was very over salted. I do find that the pastas have a slightly artificially-produced like taste (i think they maybe could use more fresh ingredients) but as I say this is definitely one of the better healthier options in Houston. The staff are friendly and helpfull.

We enjoyed fabulous panini's and a pizza at lunch. Take advantage of the lunch special - half a panini and a salad are ample for lunch and delicious. The pizza's do take a bit longer, but the fresh tasting sauce and quality toppings are worth the wait. Can't wait to try a pasta dish here. Definitely going back. Counter staff was VERY friendly, offering great input on selections!

This is one of my favorite lunch places. I like counter service at lunch so I dont have to wait for a waitstaffer to bring me my check while I waste valuable work day time. The food is great. Everything I have ever eaten here tastes great. Its healthy in general too. I did have a turkey sandwich that was SO salty that I was drinking water all day afterward. I feel weird if I get a salt blast like that. That is my only complaint.. other than the limited parking. This place is great.

We had dinner on a Friday night right before the dinner crowd. Food was good. We ordered 1/2 portion and we still had leftovers to take back home. You order at the counter and then pick up when it's ready. The dining area is small so I suggest someone hold a table if you find an empty table when you get there while someone in the your party orders the food. They have small parking lot but were able to find street parking close by.

Amazing italian food. My personal favorite is the meatball sliders with a caesar salad. The cucumber water is refreshing. Nice selection of dessert items in their bakery. Nice wine selection as well.

We regularly visit on our trips to Houston as we live nearby. On this evening we arrived ( 5 persons) at 8 pm and it was packed. The restaurant closes at 9 pm but we were not rushed. Basically the portions come in two sizes but only choose the large if you are very hungry or intend to share. This includes the various salad bowls which could feed a small army. The food is good here and you order at front desk and then wait for a device to alert you to collect your food. A nice local eatery with friendly staff and customers.

We went into Camerata and sat at the bar for wine. The wines here are very good and the service is excellent. I would definitely go back when I am in the area again

This is one of our favorite casual Houston restaurants. They don’t have table service and the dining area is small but the food is excellent. The staff is great and they have good beer and wine choices. We’ve tried many of their salad, pasta and chicken dishes and we’ve yet to eat something we don’t love.

Paulie's might be my favourite restaurant in Houston. I love the taste and texture of their pasta. I can't help ordering the cream of mushroom soup every time I visit the store. If you are looking for great Italian food in Houston, Texas then you have to come straight to Paulies. If I can make one suggestion to the staff and owner of Paulie's it would be to PLEASE bring back the "Lemon Spaghetti with Anchovies"

Don't understand the hype. Food was simply not good. Bad. Atmosphere was good but food was below par.

I got the chicken Picata It has such great flavor, it was delicious. I chose fruit with it instead of pasta. The fruit had a delicious mango sauce on it. I love the ginger lemonade and I mix it with the tea. You have to try the cookies they are scrumptious?

I would NOT recommend this restaurant. They have a very customer UNFRIENDLY POLICY of not letting you return food if it is cooked incorrectly and doesn't taste appealing. You bought it, YOU EAT IT!! In all of my dining experiences have I never experienced this policy, very strange ethics. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Everyone I told can't believe this non-return policy, jaw dropping! Also, also this is walk-up counter service, but yet when you pay on their IPad screen, a choice tips pop up on the screen for you to pick from.

I eat here all the time, the most amazing spinach salad I have had anywhere in the world! I amways get a piece of grilled salmon on top to finish it off! YUM!

I really like Paulie's. Very bright, airy and open space... casual but not dressed down. I like their menu though tend to stick to the bucatini amatriciana (while I like the spice level, it would send most Italians into the stratosphere) and am a big big fan of the all-Italian wine list. Portions are quite healthy and, in my opinion, a half order of pasta is more than enough for a meal. If my wife recommends Paulie's, I don't hesitate to say "yes!"

Such a great neighborhood gem! Homemade pasta at its best! Love the casual atmosphere and helpful counter service. Great wine choices. Really a fun evening. Thanks!

Make sure your wine waitress ASKS YOU and UNDERSTANDS which size gl of (already overpriced) wine you want! I thought I had a $10 glass, but got billed for $18 for the larger serving!!! Yikes. Waitress did not clarify and I had just assumed. Once I asked, she did not offer a remedy. The wine was just 'okay'.

I was craving pasta and Paulie’s didn’t let me down! It’s a cute little place. They have a small parking lot but it’s feasible. You place your order at the register and then they give you a buzzer when your order is ready. We ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese (4/5) and the Canestri Alla Funghi (4/5). We both got the small portions and just shared it. Let me tell you.. the small portion is very filling! We also ordered a salad which was delicious! The person who takes your order was super sweet and helpful. It was my friend and I’s first time at Paulie’s and we were impressed with both items he recommended! I will definitely be returning.

Another must if you are in the Montrose Area of Houston or nearby. You order at the desk on arrival then seat yourself. We shared a couple of pastas and a large Italian Family Salad which was huge. They only have a few deserts on offer at lunch time but they were OK for our purposes. A happy hour on beer and wine is available from noon until 4 pm. Definitely worth a visit.

Paulie's is a fun place with a neighborhoody feel. It's counter order, as are many places in Houston. They have great lunch options, including huge salads and a variety of paninis. They have seasonally decorated sugar cookies, as well as the typical chocolate chip, oatmeal and peanut butter.

Terrible subs. Meatball sub with no sauce, philly with no mayo. Not worth it at all. I do not recommend!

This place is absolutely adorable! The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff was so kind!! The man that greeted us and took our order radiated positivity and it made our visit so much more memorable! I ordered the Parmesan Chicken with Spaghetti! It tasted delicious. I recommend this place for anything! :)

Visiting Houston for the first time since we lived there in the 90's. I was curious to see how the Montrose/Westheimer neighborhood has fared since then. It seems to have grown up nicely while still retaining it's quirky charm that Houston so desperately needs. We Yelped lunch places in the area and this one was in the top five. You order at the counter and given a buzzer when the food's ready to be picked up. There's also a good selection of beer and wine on the menu. I think where we went wrong was not ordering to their strengths. I ordered a cup of mushroom soup and my hubby and I split a hot sandwich of salami, provelone, and tomato's. Neither of our dishes were outstanding, to say the least. My soup tasted, okay, but I could have made it better. As to our sandwich, what sounded hearty and rich turned out to be otherwise. The bread was toasted but not very warm, there was one thin layer of salami, I had to look really hard to find any remnant of provelone, and it was topped off with chunks of roma tomato's that created an imbalance of textures. It was a little strange. I started looking around the place and noticed most were eating salads (they looked fabulous) and beautiful looking pasta dishes. If I get a chance, I'll go back and order one of those. But here's what made me very very happy and the main reason I'd go back. It's what's on the ceiling that warmed my heart. It's acoustical material which deadens the hard sounds created by sound bouncing off of hard surfaces. The place was packed but the din was low. I didn't have to lean in to talk to my mate and my ear drums weren't being tickled. It's so much more relaxing and adds much to the dining experience.. Bless you Paulie's. You get it!!! Next time I'm there I'll be a little smarter about what I order. Promise.

After visiting Houston's HMFA, my wife and I dropped into Camerata's at Pauli’s for some wine and a few "side bites". It’s on Westheimer, adjacent, but not connected to Pauli’s. They share a parking lot behind. We shared a "selection of 4" cheeses and meats for $25. The portions were, I thought, a little small, but VERY delicious. It also came with some olives, roasted almonds and some excellent bread with honey infused with fennel. Very nice eats. During their Happy Hour (we arrived about 4:30 PM), Camerata's offers tastings from bottles that were opened the previous day at 1/2 price. They had some very unusual, but very nice wines from around the world. We actually tasted several whites and rose's but no reds, a little unusual for us. Tony, our server was excellent.

We were heading to the science museum and wanted Italian food for lunch. Paulie’s came up and so we tried it. I am so glad that we did! The salads are humongous but delicious! We also had the panini’s and the pizza. We didn’t have to wait long and the staff was really helpful. The pasta salad was also delicious! We loved the food so much we ended up buying a cookbook also but I’m not sure anything that I make will compare to the food we had! Stop in and give Paulie’s a try if you are in the mood for stupendous Italian food!

Found this place by accident and make it a point to visit every time we are near Houston. Cucumber water, fantastic dishes, and eclectic atmosphere are enchanting. Love it for dinner or lunch. Sadly, they are closed Sundays. 1834 Westheimer road Houston TX 77098

This restaurant was such a wonderful find. I may be one of the few who didn't know about it judging from the constant business last night. I found this a few months ago and I dream of their cookies. I told my husband that this is the one place that I will go out of my way to get a cookie. It's a little crazy. They have lots to choose from on the menu and everything I have tried has been wonderful. Their staff is friendly and helpful. Food is great!! They are not overly crowded but constant. I plan to try everything on the menu over the next few years... Don't miss out on getting a cookie though!!

You cannot book here. You order at the desk and then find a seat as your order is being prepared. On a Saturday night the restaurant was heaving but by the time your food arrives a table miraculously appears. Although a few tables were in for the longer dinner most tables were having a quick turnaround. We chose a selection of salads followed by various pasta dishes. Now beware: they serve American portions here so unless you are starving either share a large plate or order the smaller dish. Service is very efficient and the staff super helpful. Great place for a decent meal.

The atmosphere and the service is good, however the food leaves a lot to be desired. The food preparation is wildly inconsistent. I have been there 4 times ( and that will be all i think ). One time having pasta so spicy i couldn't eat it, and one time where the pasta for both myself and my wife was so salty we could only manage a few bites. There are way to many good restaurants in the area to bother with this place.

Camerata's is a gem. The atmosphere is great and service consistently solid. They always have an outstanding selection and my only hesitancy in writing a great review is I don't want too many people to discover it! Their food boards are yummy too

Went to Paulie's on 10/4 around 745 pm hoping to have a nice meal. First time trying this place and was excited as I hear it is good. Parking is a bit of a pain but eventually found a spot. Got inside to find a 10 minute line at the counter to order which in itself was not a problem. Get to the counter and after ordering the first two items was told there was a 40 minute wait for the meal (a salad and pasta). I was surprised as there were plenty of open tables so this seemed odd. Not ideal but I said "ok". Then ordered my last item, a pizza, and was informed they were out of pizza dough. Uh, how is an Italian place out of pizza dough? We cancelled the order and walked out. 40 minutes to get a salad and pasta from a counter? That was a bit much but add in the fact that you don't have a key component of the menu and it's time to leave. Won't try this again as it was not worth the hassle.

This is a quaint low key restaurant only has about 15-20 small tables. Thankfully we got there right before the dinner rush. A line forms fast. It's truly a hidden gem on a pretty busy street. From what I could tell the menu covers sandwiches, pasta, pizza, wine, desserts and coffee. All made in house according to the server. I had the Portobello Mushroom & Red Pepper sandwich with a side of Mushroom soup...OMG! SO DELICIOUS! The bread for the sandwich was on a brioche bun and the veggies were grilled perfectly. My husband had the Salmon ciabatta sandwich with Caesar Salad and Italian Potato salad. Also just as equally delicious! Especially the potato salad. It had a distinct olive flavor which was not too over powering. A few other must haves that we had: Key Lime Tart, Carrot Cake and the Ginger Lemonade. The service was excellent as well. It was our first time here but we will definitely will be back and highly recommend.
Great portions, excellent quality and reasonable prices.
A coworker recommended Paulie's saying that it is lighter Italian food. We ordered food to-go and when we arrived the line was out the door - always a good sign. We ordered a 1/2 order of Fettuccini Alfredo ($8) with grilled chicken ($5) and a grilled shrimp ($4) Caesar salad ($7). The portions were excellent. The 1/2 order of pasta and salad is the standard size at most restaurants. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. The pasta was excellent - definitely house-made. We will be back.
