Great good and service

By Donna S |

I had stopped going to this restaurant because the service had gotten so bad. I went back today and had a great experience! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I will be going back regularly

Order the duck bacon

By tishcitric |

Peach’s is a relatively new restaurant in historic Bronzeville with sunny and inviting interior due to the large street level windows. We went for breakfast on a Monday morning (~ 10:00 am) and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. We order a typical American breakfast of pancakes and eggs and the items were good but not exceptional. I do recommend the duck bacon, it was excellent. I will return just for the duck bacon.

Great Breakfast

Went to breakfast with my Father in Law: He enjoyed his traditional eggs, sausage and Pancakes. I had the Duck Bowl with fresh Spinach. It was da bomb!

Try the duck bacon

By OTM330 |

I've visited twice and the service was on bnb lot both times. I tried the breakfast bowl with duck bacon and was impressed. The second time I tried the fried chicken and French toast (not good at all). Overall, I enjoy the food and service at Peach's and I'll be a regular customer from this point forward.

A solid choice for breakfast in Bronzeville!

The pancakes are very good, and my husband loved his Peach Bourbon French toast! The atmosphere is friendly and warm. A great breakfast spot in Bronzeville.

Unusual Menu, great service, easy to order way too much food.

This is now our ‘go-to’ breakfast and lunch place if we have time to get to Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. I think this is updated southern cuisine. Lots of ‘peach-themed’ dishes, such as Peach’s House Blend coffee (coffee with a light peach flavor, not heavy like most flavored coffees), duck bacon (!), “Duck Bowl” with duck bacon, spinach, potatoes, and more. (Note to self: next time ask them to serve only half the potatoes.) We also had Peach Bourbon French toast, with a whiskey syrup (I think) and peaches marinated in something. Order the syrup on the side if you don’t want the toast totally drenched. Anyway, there were five of us, and we ALL thought it was fabulous. I was stuffed for almost two days. Parking was easy, also. And the service was way better than I'm used to. Maybe the waiter only had a couple of other tables at the time we are there.

Great Breakfast, Great Service, and a Great neighborhood to explore!

I absolutely love Peach's and try to visit as often as I can! The waffle topped with the peach compote is so delicious you just might consider licking the plate. The peach coffee is equally as amazing and you can actually buy a bag of their custom blend to take home. It's seriously some of the best coffee I've ever had and I always always always leave with a bag or three to drink at home (it's available in whole bean and ground).

Great Breakfast Spot

By Ron K |

This new breakfast spot in Bronzeville is really nice. We stopped in this morning for breakfast and found the spot to be a breath of fresh air. The host sat us immediately and the waitress was there to bring us some of the nicest house brews I have had in awhile. I ordered the salmon patties and grits and my wife had the shrimp and grits, both were exceptional. The patties were very tasty with a rice salmon taste with very little filler, it was served with a very tasty, buttery flaky biscuit. My wife enjoyed her shrimp and grits which came with a nice piece of Texas toast. If you're in the Bronzeville neighborhood stop in and try this place you won't be disappointed.

Duck Bacon!

I had never tried Duck Bacon before this location. It is absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend it!

Go hungry; leave satisfied

Breakfast was outstanding. I had the French toast with peaches and it was better than I had imagined. I didn’t even add syrup. Others in my party had shrimp and grits, fried chicken. We all enjoyed our meals. The servers were very friendly and helpful when I asked for directions to several different places. Restaurant is easily accessible and if you’re touring Bronzeville, this is a good place to start.

Nice Addition to Bronzeville Restaurant Scene

By Lloyd P |

Restaurant is spacious and very clean. The service was excellent. Had breakfast, Peach's Special with sausage, eggs and toast, very tasty but potatoes were overcooked.. The coffee was delicious.. A bit pricey breakfast for 2 was $30, not including tip.. Enjoyed the atmosphere and will pay them a future visit.

AMAZING!!

Visiting Chicago from Portland. We were brought here by relatives that live in the area. Each and every server or hostess we came in contact with was above and beyond friendly, cheerful, helpful and accommodating. Haven’t been treated that nicely in a long long time, if ever. Never ever even considered asking for coffee our cups were always full. Asked if they did anything for birthdays and the most amazing plate full of beignets with berries and chocolate drizzle showed up. Every single server that walked my individually wishes my husband a happy birthday. I had the shrimp and grits it was superb!! They have catfish and collard greens. Friends had the healthy omelette with fluffy egg whites. The peach bourbon compote was wonderful. Oh and an unexpected surprise was how delicious the peach coffee was! It was like having the essence of peach in a cup of delicious hot coffee. The smell was so wonderful I bought a bag. The only recommendation for change-please carry decaf peach coffee!! Well done will return when we come back to visit.

Good experience

The only reason I choose this restaurant was because it's black owned. The pancakes were amazing and the staff was good.

Duck Bacon Please

By Wetravel4u614 |

After our trip to New Orleans, we decided to have breakfast in Chicago. I did a little research and found Peach's Restaurant. Very interesting menu and they have duck bacon! I did not realize that duck bacon was a thing but boy am I glad that it is. All of food was delicious. We try to support as many mom and pop establishments as we can so each time visiting one is exciting. From their pancakes to their french toast with bourbon peaches, to the duck bacon or the salmon croquettes with grits, you honestly cannot go wrong. Quick service and friendly hostesses. Give Peach's a try!

Another Bucket list of finding Fine Breakfast lunch Places in the Southside (Historic Bronzeville Area this time)

By Art J |

Well another adventurous try in the south side Chicago for brunch Historic Bronzeville area since I am a northsider. I came there during the lunch time hours and my oh my was it BUSY! With Christian natives coming out from mass. I am glad I did this solo and not as a group or on a afternoon date. I ended up sitting at the bar instead of a table since that would take longer. I will remember to make reservations since they said they take reservations and it is RECOMMENDED to avoid the wait for a table and to be served. Anyways I had ordered Duck bacon bowl, the Salmon Croquettes and the greens (AKA collard Greens with some meat, not sure if it was ham). The Duck bowl was OK. Nothing super special. It was a curiosity to try since it was Duck bacon and never had it before. It is similar to turkey bacon taste wise which I never really liked. The signature dishes I should have ordered as the main was the Salmon Croquettes. That was delicious! I did order it but as a side dish or appetizer. The "Greens" or the Collard Greens was yummy too. It was savory with meat inside. Portions we're good but not generous or BIG like some breakfast lunch places. I would come back for the Salmon Croquettes dish. It's another Southern comfort State inspired restaurant. What I did not like was at the bar the waiter and the staff was not as responsive in my order of certain things. I also did not get my utensils to eat my entrees right away. I do give them some excuse since it was busy but they should not treat a customer any less important. Especially 1st timers who write or type reviews on websites such as Google,Yelp, and Trip Advisor. Again, I would come back since the food was great! A little pricey on some dishes FYI. Some interesting names of Entrees in the menu such as Fresh Prince and Bananas in Pajamas LOL.

Love this place!

I love their food. I'm there at least once a month, brunch is my favorite food and they don't disappoint. I prefer carry out since I live in the area but dine in service is okay. Very bright and vibrant atmosphere!

Excellent Service

By JABRAKO |

I'm most impressed that everyone there had a smile and was helpful. Our waiter was very good. This gave me a very good feel about the place. But I tend to order my basic scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, and pancakes. This is just basic American breakfast. Nothing special and a little higher priced than just your standard I-Hop restaurant. At I-Hop you get 3 pancakes, here was 2---and they came a bit cool, not hot. Nor did they provide hot syrup. I did like the eggs as they seemed real, not made from powder. The cheese grits were good, but I want HOT food. Not sure I would go again.

GREAT FIND

We saw this restaurant advertised on Facebook and decided to go. Let me tell you, the food is REALLY good. They have a coffee that has peach flavoring added and the waitstaff is engaging and professional. The owner is really nice as well and likes to make sure everyone is enjoying their visit.

I expected more

By MrsMoTravel |

I'm the foodie of foodies and I was sorely disappointed. The salmon croquettes tasted like salmon patties, disgusting when you're expecting croquettes instead. They don't serve rice! How and why? The only thing I enjoyed was there peach tea. I'll never eat there again on my dime.

great breakfast, good service

When I asked my mom what she thought of Peach’s, she didn’t hesitate “10/10.” She had woken up craving grits, and after a bit of research, I chose Peach’s as the spot for us during our annual mother + daughter trip. We arrived shortly after opening and only waited about five minutes, as there was a couple ahead of us placing a to-go order. Once they were finished, we were greeted warmly, and a gentleman at the bar even walked over to welcome us and show us to our seats. He was kind, friendly, and seemed genuinely excited to have us there. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept. Our server, Tamarra, was outstanding personable, knowledgeable about the menu, and truly happy to be helping us. We ordered the Peach’s Special: two eggs with chicken sausage, grits, and pancakes. Our food came out quickly, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. I also tried their peach coffee, which was unique and so good that I plan to order some online. Overall, Peach’s delivered on every level: great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. (And yes! we did ask about Obama!)

Wonderful!

Finally made it here! Had the Catfish with cheese grits and greens, with a side of French Toast...it was so good. The waitress was attentive and all of her recommendations were spot on. I asked about lemonade and she suggested the Peach Palmer, WOW, I need a jug of that!

Peachy Keen

Love this Bronzeville gems. One of my faves. Try the shrimp and grits or anything with duck bacon. Their peach Palmer also hits the spot!
