The food was good at Pearls Restaurant . We had a good time with the Carribean cuisine and the atmosphere.

Exhausted after a long day exploring Manhattan we stumbled up the steps of this tiny little gem of a place hungry and tired. The staff were super friendly and were only too happy to explain the food and the menu. Great cocktails, delicious fresh, interesting food served with a smile. New Yorkers love their Mexican and Mex- influenced food..I say they should embrace Carribean..its far more interesting and tastier!

This is not a roti shop per se, but I wish I had ordered the curried roti that one in our party did. One bite left me jealous. I ordered the jerked ribs which were not as nice. Other dishes in my party tasted great. The ambience is noisy and crowded, so if a quiet meal is desired, this might not work. For a Sunday afternoon, the wait was pretty lengthy (to get a seat; not for the meal). The servers are warm, offering true Caribbean welcome, and their accents place you straight in the heart of Port of Spain, Trinidad! Pricing is good, and the value is excellent. Makes you want to move to Brooklyn if you live outside the city!

Our Airbnb was just down the street, and the billboard with Curry Crab caught my eye. We came for dinner and ordered the Stuffed Crab Back, Braised Oxtail Stew with peas and rice and a pickle back slaw, a Chicken Roti, Calypso Guac and Chips (plantain), a Trini Rum Punch, a Hot Gyal and a Regular Rum Punch. We loved loved loved the Stuffed Crab Back as well as the Braised Oxtail Stew...the rest of the dishes meh but the cocktails as fabulous as our favorite entrees. We loved it so much that we came back to this restaurant our last day in Brooklyn this time to try the jerk chicken and stew fish as well as more of our new favorite oxtail stew. Brooklyn we love you and will miss this restaurant along with our favorite pizzerias.

What a unique flavor and gem in Brooklyn. The food and ambiance is tremendous, you can’t go wrong and there’s a number of table sauces to experiment with which I love

Had lunch with family on 4th of July at Pearl's. This may the best kept secret in Brooklyn. I had the Bake Shrimp, which was a delicious concoction of shrimp served in a pita like sandwich. The staff was friendly and prices very reasonable for trendy Williamsburg. Check it out!!

Full fledged Trini here and this tasteless food doesn't do ANYTHING at all to represent Trini/Caribbean food. Has to be one of the most mediocre meals I've ever had. They're surely surviving because their patrons don't know any better... because no one from Trinidad will enjoy this very poor attempt at replicating Trini food. We had the oxtails and coconut rice, fried plantations, rice and beans and macaroni pie. The oxtail lacked seasoning and was very bland and didn't taste like proper stewed oxtail; coconut rice is a joke - no coconut flavour in that at all, is plantains weren't ripe enough so didn't taste good at all, rice and beans and macaroni pie were very bland. Food is VERY expensive... WAYYYYYY too expensive for the poor value in food. Don't go.

On an expected restaurant you can experience a great Caribbean food...quick service, cozy ambient and good music.

This was my first visit here. It’s a cute small eatery in Williamsburg that serves Caribbean fare. Short ribs and pumpkin soup with dumplins (no ‘g’!) were delish. Yucca (cassava) fries were a bit dry but the dipping sauce was really good. The only drawback was the loud music. The waiter lowered it a bit per my request, and I had to ask him to lower it again because it was impossible to have a conversation.

Some people know that the best place to get bake and shark is on Maracas beach in Trinidad! Buuuut seeing how we can't get there every day we had to find one that would suffice here in NY. Of course this establishment doesn't have it as good as Trinidad but he food was tasty. I ordered corn and bake and shrimp. It was delicious. The corn had a little too much coconut but once I brushed some of it off t was good. The shrimp were fried to perfection. It was tender and flavorful. Only suggestions would be the portion could be bigger and they could have left out the raw mango for me. All in all it was a great, quick and cheap meal

Pearls has a nice authentic vibes but the service is crap! The workers look very unfriendly and they give you a vibe of intrusion. You aren’t allowed in the backyard if it rained earlier so the little space inside is thus very cramped. I looked pass all of that until I checked my bank statement and notice that the bartender took it upon himself to take a 20% tip on my bill even though I had already tipped him in cash.

I chanced on this restaurant while looking for somewhere else. What a delightful establishment! In the window are 2 large dispensing flasks of chilled Rum Punch (Trinidad and Pearl's) both delicious, I was unable to resist trying the Pearl's Punch after a glass of the excellent Trinidad version, served with a little Trinidad flag jutting from a stick of sugar cane. The completely charming waitress (Naja) was friendly and efficient, and I was soon tucking into the excellent-value lunch, for which I chose Bake and Shark, complete with all the trimmings one would expect on the beach in Trinidad; Tamarind Sauce, Cilantro/Coriander/Shadon Beni Sauce, Pepper Sauce, Garlic Sauce). Bake is a beautifully light kind of bread, and it holds slices of fried shark (really worth a try if you've never experienced it). It was served with jeera(cumin) fries with Scotch Bonnet Ketchup. I was in heaven, especially after the rum punch! A woman at the next table had a delicious-looking vegetable roti. They are open for lunch and dinner, and are definitely on my itinerary from now on whenever I am in New York. What a great find.

Enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. Good drinks and carribean dishes. A little pricey for what you're getting but it does somewhat fill you. Worth trying out.

Our family met here for brunch on Sunday. Pearl's offered a wide variety of choices for meat, fish and vegetarian eaters. Jerk chicken choices were spicy and flavorful, others were a bit bland for a Caribbean restaurant (oxtails, goat). Appetizers were a hit, cassava fries, accra were both great. Octopus salad was a bit disappointing, not flavorful and a bit overcooked octopus. Fun informal atmosphere.

The food here transports you to "reggae roots". Music inside gives you the ambiance to eat their jerk food. They need music outside too!! Drinks are good too. Been there twice and I don't regret it. Small menu but it is just enough to satisfy your taste.

Saturday brunch meal was a mixture of great food and great environment. Bottomless flavored mimosas kicked it off well and it ended with some beignets with ice cream. Strongly suggest the Caribbean hash as it was superb. Highly recommended and had a line when it opened at noon. Reasonable prices as well.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews. My gf and I have been in and around the restaurant business for many years, and she is exceptionally tolerant of service and food issues. Our experience here was very poor. Bad seating, being ignored, ridiculous upsells. I could go on. Having said that, the food was brilliant. It was a shame we had to tolerate what we did to get a meal here. I would try it again, maybe it was just a fluke, but I feel as if the staff should be counseled on how to treat customers.

My friends and I decided to dine here after hearing about this place from a co-worker. We live in Staten Island and drove out to Brooklyn on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for lunch and drinks. From reading the reviews, I was expecting some good ole' West Indian home cooking....negative!! When we arrived, we were greeted and requested to sit outside. I didn't know that we had to share tables with other guests (not pleased, but over looked)! Then after being seated, 3 other couples came in and they were all greeted by the waiter (drinks and orders taken before us)...again, I over looked it and waited patiently. After about 15 minutes we were greeted and orders were taken. When our plates arrived, it looked delicious but after tasting the first bite it was just mediocre to me. I am a "FOODIE" and love and enjoy well cooked meals and this to me was just average. My friends and I ordered 2 Oxtails dinners and a Shrimp Roti (only 4 Shrimp in entire Roti). I've had better Oxtail and Roti dishes from other WI restaurants in the City, besides my kitchen :-). Once we placed our order, we never saw our server again; he never came back to check on us or the other guests...very disappointing! I guess it’s because they automatically added 18% gratuity to the bills even though they advertised it’s done for groups of 4 or more and my group consisted of ONLY THREE but yet 18% was added to our bill. I didn't bother disputing it because I will NEVER go back to this establishment. Just wasn't worth my bucks! However, for those who do not have that REAL West Indian taste bud, they will enjoy this restaurant and think it’s the nest WI food they ever had...LOL! Enjoy folks

My best friend and I decided to eat here yesterday and I am so glad we settle on this place for a late brunch. Pearl's is a hidden gem that I feel isn't as popular as it should be.. perhaps that's a good thing. Looks fairly small from the outside but its decently situated and quaint. Being a Trinidadian native, I expected greatness from Pearls and they did not disappoint. I enjoyed the shrimp frittata whilst she had the shark and bake. She really enjoyed It and I too enjoyed my meal. The people were all very friendly, helpful and fun. The drinks were delicious as well. We had quite a few and they were all very appeasing.

Decided to visit here after reading great reviews we loved the food was very tasty would recommend if looking for somewhere different to eat

We stopped here as part of a food tour so only tried the ACCRA salted cod fritter with tamarind sauce, which was great. We on holiday from Australia, and didn't get back to try their jerk chicken - next time!

When I walked in my first reaction was, omg this place is small. However, as the evening progressed, I really appreciated the intimacy. The staff was very pleasant, the food was great and the price was descent. What i most appreciated was their creative thinking, I mean I never heard of bake and shrimp but omg it was delicious. Also, located in williamsburg, the diversity of the customers was just welcoming. Check it out for yourself

How don't like some ribs. Just sayin. They also had excellent jerk chicken and cod fritters. I broke my diet for these I do recommend these if you into Caribbean.
Very bad service.
Awful service and rude. Came from out of town for a friends birthday. Reservation was cancelled by Pearls and we waited for our table over an hour. No one came over to us. Asked several staff members for help. All were rude and uninterested. Finally the manager/hostess decided to be our server and told us half the menu wasn't available. I refused to eat. Other's food was unseasoned and not great. The chef came out and was condescending. Saw the owner arrive and never came over to check on any patrons. Don't ever waste your money here.
