Great restaurant for breakfast. Amazing oatmeal topped with fruit and syrup! Eggs any way that you like them with bacon. Treat yourself to an oyster as a side dish. Can sit at counter or they have a few tables.

Due to nature of my visit to Philadelphia, I passed by multiple times before choosing to check out the Reading Terminal. My son and I came in to buy pastries early one morning, but saw the Pearl Oyster counter open for breakfast. We sat and had a pleasant meal. I consider the food "okay" -- mine was Crabcakes Benedict. The crabcakes had little flavor whereas they should have been the highlight of the selection. My son did have a waffle with scrapple -- an interesting combination and his first encounter with scrapple. He was well pleased. We enjoyed our meal but overall the novelty of the open counter in the midst of the market added to the experience where the average food left off.

Pearl's Flounder platter is the best, like Grandmom cooked it. Served nice & hot, french fries crisp, good cole slaw. Take some home for dinner.

Egg white omelet was The Bomb! It was simply fabulous, with a fresh, tangy goat cheese and wonderful mushrooms from Shibumi, the mushroom vendor in the market. We went at 9:05. A.M. on Sunday morning, a bad time to go, and had a long wait for service. Time your visit better. The rest of the breakfast dishes look equally amazing, although some look as though they contain enough calories to get you through the week. There are more circumspect choices, like the amazing egg white omelet with goat cheese and mushrooms! Service can be abrupt and a bit choppy, but not terrible and kind of in keeping with the atmosphere anyway.

Nice oyster and sea food place in the market, right next to the ice cream shop, friendly staff, nice sitting area around the bar and good food

Wife and I split a waffle/fried chicken breakfast. Excellent food. Couldn't have possibly eaten it by myself. Waitress very friendly. Recommend!

I had the eggs Benedict with chicken and waffle. It tasted surprisingly great. I had breakfast with my son and wife. It is located inside the Readington Terminal Market. Do pay a visit. Haven't been for lunch, but I was invited to try it too.

We spent an hour walking around the Reading Terminal Market, and my "traditional" hubby wasn't sure he wanted to eat there..... But there was PEARL's , which you see right when you walk in, and it turned out to be Great ! And they actually have a good-sized eating area, with great wait staff. He ordered crabcakes, and said they were great! Pearls is a diner style oyster bar serving brunch, lunch, breakfast (Market closes at 5 p.m.)

We ate here because it was Friday during Lent, we decided to try it. The salmon Benedict was okay, the clam chowder was way too much onion for our taste, my husband had the calamari it was okay. I may give this play a try again but I wish I was more wowed by the food.

I wanted fresh seafood and was not disappointed. Popped in for a quick lunch and even with the mass of people in town for the Villanova men’s basketball National Championship parade, the service was prompt and delicious. I sampled three raw oysters and had a wonderful salad with pan seared scallops. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it.

My friend and I visited the Redding market for the first time. We asked a police officer where to get some good seafood and he directed us here. The fish tacos were outstanding and the grouper Reuben was undescribable. Even the fries were above and beyond. Friendly service and a wonderful experience !

This is the first time I have eaten here, and we came to the Market because I had heard that breakfast in general here is very good. We arrived just as the Market opened, and decided on Pearl's after a brief menu review of all the places that were available. We were not disappointed! The menu here is varied but not so extensive that they can't do anything really well. It's a decided New Orleans twist on some classic breakfast dishes - cheddar grits are available as a side dish choice. I had the Shrimp and Grits Benedict, which was almost perfect. The place filled up quickly, and the food around me looked as good as mine tasted. Highly recommend.

Was looking forward to a bowl of oyster stew but it came with barely any oysters in it and was almost gray in color. The bowl of clam chowder was similarly lackluster. Rather expensive for what we got.

I admit- i often eat the same foods on a menu over and over. I like what I like but a recent closure forced me to step outside of my comfort zone and try a different place. Pearl's has been around for years so i decided to try their crab cake BLT- YUMMY! Nice balance of crab and filling. Good flavor. Overall I was happy but thought the price tag for a sandwich bordered on the high side. Would I dine again- maybe or maybe I'll step outside of the box to try something else new.

We went to Reading Terminal Market on President's Day. Needless to say, it was crowded We waited about 10 minutes to get seated at Pearl's Oyster Restaurant. It was well worth the wait! I got Veggie Eggs Benedict, and Olivia got fish and chips. The portions were good and the food was fresh and tasty. The wait staff were great, even though they were busy.

Down to earth oyster bar inside the Reading Terminal Market in Philly. My lunch was swerved quick and with a smile. I had fried oysters and a cup of oyster stew. The fried oysters were one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The breading on them was nice and thin.

it used to be a great place for fried oysters, or flounder etc., now it changed the menu and it is boring and over priced

Pearl's Oyster Bar is one of the best places to eat in the Reading Terminal Market. The service at the lunch counter at Pearl's is friendly and the food is incredibly good and relatively inexpensive for the quality. I had a fantastic soft shell crab Bahn Mi sandwich, which was very tasty and delivered with a salad. A great place for a hearty breakfast with eggs, omelettes, toast, local bacon and sausage, etc. Located in the Reading Terminal Market which is a wonderful place full of every conceivable food, bakery and produce establishment, all right across from the Pennsylvania Convention Center in central Philly. Worth a visit in itself and the best place by far to eat lunch in the vicinity of the convention center.

I just finished one of tastiest breakfast meals I've ever had. The South Philly Benny consists of poached eggs over shredded Rib Eye over a pretzel roll. So tasty!! Great service at the counter. Perfect people watching location too. Highly recommended for breakfast while in Philadelphia.

Had shrimp and grits for breakfast-just so so. Grits had been around too long. Our fault maybe- breakfast at 12:30. Maybe try and the lunch menu later.

We just got to Philadelphia last night & I strolled Leslie to her Ultrasound cert. - we’re staying at the Sofitel Hotel (means luxury) ; anyway, on my wandering way back, I (can’t say stumbled upon because I’ve been called a drunkard before by overly judgement s.o.bees.)(I think the bees need to have a rum & Coke Zero with a doobie)).... As I was saying, I was lost (7 blocks away) when I found “The Market” & decided to stop for breakfast! I sat down when I entered, I was looking for the Hometown Diner, which was further inside the market. Okay, I order the menu oddities and oysters & eggs got my $$! Very good — try it, you’ll like it. Standard Operating Orders: Keep Partying-the taillights ahead are Tommy’s and Leslie’s

I loved this place. I enjoy the oysters bars around here in general. My Salmon Burger and Fried Oyster Roll were delicious. The reviews seem biased and like two companies fighting for regional turf.

We've never tried this restaurant within the Reading Market in Philly, but the menu looked interesting, and there were seats at the "bar", which serves only non-alcoholic drinks -- unsweetened iced tea and lemonade were fine. I started with a cup of Snapper Soup, which was fine. My wife asked what seafood wasn't fried, and the great waiter suggested Dayboat Scallops: jersey sweet corn, red quinoa, applewood bacon, key lime and roasted cherry tomatoes: fantastic! I ordered the Kim Chi Red Snapper Tacos (3) with shaved radish -- and it was wonderful! I also ordered the side of Truffle-Parmesan French Fries, and they were terrific! What a great lunch for $42 -- as good as any similar seafood dishes we've ever had in a fine restaurant, and we've had plenty. What a find!

I wouldn't have thought that a restaurant in the middle of Reading Terminal would have such stellar food but it does. The clam chowder is fabulous. The fried shrimp was perfectly done. on another trip I had the sea bass and risotto... Totally delicious! I highly recommend this place!

Taylor ham, scrambled eggs n cheese was great meal with decent coffee. This was a Sunday crowded mass so it was worth the wait for a seat.

Friendly staff, very fresh and yummie food. Try the fish tacos, beautiful and fresh! The oysters are also delicious and melt in your mouth. They have a nice meal with scallops and pork belly that is SO GOOD.

One of the several establishments I visited while at the Reading Market. Food did not disappoint would return.

We were able to sit rather quickly at this diner bar seating place. The menu changes some, so I did not find exactly what other reviewers recommended/pictured but were very happy with current offerings. The server was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed eggs with pork roll, veggie omelet and french toast. Very good. The food was fresh and cooked just right. Nothing was overdone or burned or raw. Three breakfast and two coffees for $41 plus tip was not bad at all. Will definitely come back if I have an opportunity.

$13 for Crab cake eggs Benedict! Really, what more can I say, but I'll go on. :) The crab cakes were perfect, light but firm. The hollandaise sauce had just enough flavor to tease me but didn't overpower the eggs or crab. The atmosphere is like a diner since it's in Reading Terminal. The wait-staff are young, energetic and attractive with that "Philly-no-nonsense" demeanor while still attentive.

Whenever we're in Philly, this is my favorite breakfast spot. The counter service is quick and the staff pleasant. The chorizo shrimp omelet is most tasty...even without the potato sticks. Trying to eat low carb is possible with the substitution of salad for potatoes or grits. Coffee was tasty and hot. Lots of other dishes look really appetizing but this is my fav.

We had another great lunch after our annual trip to the Philly Auto show. Pearl's is our usual stop after the show and we were not disappointed. Each trip we try something different and it's all good. Good food and fast service.

I like the counter style of service but unfortunately the service was pretty lousy. The first day I ate there I gave them the benefit of the doubt but the second was just as bad. The food was also pretty meh.

Oysters were fresh and great tasting as always, but I am disappointed that They have still not started serving Snapper Soup yet. Thier's was the "Best in Philly " as far as I am concerned, and I miss it .

My fish and chips were very fresh, generously portioned and blazing hot. The coleslaw was good too. Not cheap ($15+ tax) but what is at Reading Terminal Market? They have a nice lunch counter and service is very fast and friendly.

The BEST Crab cake egg Benedict, I’ve literally contemplated a 2hr drive just to eat breakfast here. I get them every time I visit Philly. Yum! ♿️ Not an accessible restaurant - you must take food to food court for accessible tables. Great service too.

On our first visit to downtown Philadelphia in years, we checked out the Reading Terminal Market for lunch. There were hundreds of great food choices in a lively, thriving market atmosphere, and we settled on Pearls Oyster bar based on the excellent seafood menu offering. We shared the Ceviche appetizer, and I ordered the Cioppino while my wife enjoyed the Skate, both menu specials that day. All were Delicious! Service was fabulous, fast, courteous and attentive. The food quality and portions were as good as, or better than, most 4 or 5 star seafood restaurants we've dined at anywhere in the US. It's a public Food market so there is no "atmosphere" as such, but the next time you're looking for a fantastic no-frills seafood lunch and are in the vicinity of the Reading Terminal Market, seek out Pearls. You will not be disappointed.

It was good food, coffee was ok. I had the oysters benedict, it was a good portion. Staff was friendly, but not really attentive.

There was a time when oysters were a Philadelphia staple, eaten by rich and poor alike. Pearl's keeps that tradition alive! I was seated at the counter between lawyers and a workaday shopper. I had a generous serving of Oyster Stew and enjoyed every drop. There are more than just oysters on the menu, but I do miss the regular fried oyster platter that has been replaced by oyster 'sliders' - earthy, delicious and salacious nonetheless! Remember it's CASH only!

We stopped by Pearl’s for a quick lunch; I had the crab cakes while my wife had the tuna sliders. The crab cakes were OK, not outstanding and not poor, the tuna sliders were fantastic. The accompanying salads were also really fresh and had a really nice dressing.

My husband and I had breakfast at Pearl's Oyster Restaurant two days in a row. It is fabulous!!! I had crabcake benedict both days. My husband had the benedict one day and an omlet the next. The breakfast is so good! Everything is perfection. I love this place and will visit every time I am in Philly!

The French toast with strawberries is AWESOME! Had it twice. Fast service. Coffee is marginal - that's what keeps it from 5 stars.

We were on our way to the Barnes for a 10:00 and wanted a hearty breakfast! Never thought of Pearl's Oyster House for Breakfast but what an awesome discovery! Great service and the food was phenomenal! The breakfast potatoes are the very best! Egg Benedict were some of the best I have ever had! Do not overlook this gem in the Reading Terminal Market! New favorite spot!

Everything I've eaten from here is delicious, but I especially love the variety of oysters they have. The omelettes are light and fluffy, filled with fresh ingredients. The french toast was thick and delicious!

We were surprised to see Pearl’s Oyster restaurant open for breakfast, but I am SO glad it was. I got the Peanut Butter and Banana French Toast. Don’t worry about the indulgence. Just do it. It was unbelievably delicious. The service was great too!

Perfect, tasty variety of raw oysters and a pleasant lesson in oyster appreciation from the staff plus the most delicious salad I've had in a very long time - yum. Fresh, simple, excellent. Can't wait to go back!

We ended up here because the restaurant we intended to go to was closed. So happy it was! Fast service and great tasting food!

The fried shrimp platter is the best. Always crisp and the right amount of crunchiness and the shrimp are xtra large. I also ordered a dozen raw oysters I go there several times thru out the year and always get the fried shrimp and oysters on the half shell. The oysters are shucked fresh to order and they usually have several varieties. Not fancy just counter and table service and the prices are very fair for the quality of seafood. Great spot for philly visitors that like fresh simple seafood.

Pearl's in The Reading Terminal Market is a great eating spot! I don't know where else you can get Oyster platters, sandwiches, Clam Chowder, omelettes... Seating is usually available even when the rest of the market is packed. Great place for a quick lunch and to relax in an otherwise crowded environment. Friendly people too!

Had a crab cake platter and an oyster platter for lunch. Came with coleslaw and fries. Very pleased with the service and quality of the food.

Staff are really friendly and helpful. I go almost every weekend for breakfast. It can get crowded, but people rotate in and out pretty quickly. Try the French toast. I usually do it with a side of bacon. The omelets are great also!!

While staying in the city, we visited the Reading Terminal Market and tried this gem for breakfast and am I ever glad we did! I had the "Waffle-delphia" and it was AMAZING!!! The prices were not bad and the ambiance -- well, we were in the Reading Terminal! :-D

Looking for raw bar in RTM and this was the place. Oysters delicious and my lunch of scallops with pork belly and sweet potato/wild mushroom/spinach hash was great. Helpful service. Gourmet food in a casual atmosphere. Only cash accepted, so come prepared!

Used to be really good and always crowded. Finally got my Husband there and the oysters were not fresh and awful. If you want good oysters, make the short walk to Sansom Street Oyster.

The half dozen assorted oyster plate was amazing. They offered 5 East Coast oysters and one West Coast offering. Delicious

The oysters were wonderful! from several different places even Canada and all were very delicious. Will go back again for more.

We love this restaurant. My family and I always eat here when we want some good seafood. Definitely would recommend!

We loved Pearl's in the Reading Market. It was usually crowded as it has a prime space right at the entrance. The oyster stew was fantastic. Also tried the fried oyster platter and fish and chips. Prefer the latter. Great fries!

Was in Philadelphia for a wedding. Visited Reading Market. Found Pearl’s Oyster Bar. Great counter service. Nice specials. Try chicken & waffles.

Excellent breakfast bacon cooked to perfection too. Good service as well. Inside reading terminal and across from marriott downtown. Pearl is an unexpected gem for breakfast in Philadelphia.

We visited the Reading Terminal for late Breakfast on a Sunday but instead of breakfast, we ended up eating lunch there since we got a seat at the Pearl's Oyster bar. Food comes out quickly! The Fried Oysters were huge and juicy! Great stop for a quick lunch if you're at the Reading Terminal.

Interestingly, we had a vegetarian breakfast at an Oyster Bar and loved it!! The breakfast menu had limited options and we went in for steel cut oatmeal with the fixings and home style potatoes. Both were outstanding and the service too!!

The is a great place in the Reading Terminal Market. The food is good, the quantity large. There's a lot of hustle and bustle as you would expect in an open market like the Terminal is. The advantage to Pearl's is that its not as well known as some of the other Terminal restaurants so its easier to get in and out of. On the day I was there, even with a big crowd the service was good. It's also a good place to sit and people watch. There are tables and a bar to sit at which works well if your solo. I had the shrimp and cheese grits Benedict which sounded a little strange but was really good. Price was good too.

Famous because the fried oysters, is a place to have a quick service for breakfast or lunch. Nice fish and chips and an ok Clam Chowder. Is a good place to eat in Reading Market, offer a seating area for patrons. Good place to eat away from the crowded common areas inside the market.

Pearls usually has three or four feature oysters fresh and the platters are always delicious. Great French Fries great soup. Very friendly staff

The raw calm was so so so good and sweet today. The calamari Cobb salad was spot on too. This place is packed and cash only (maybe just today...)

We went every morning for breakfast. I can't say enough as to how amazing and fantastic each visit was. The food was so different than the norm and a lot of it with an inexpensive price tag to finale the whole experience. Five thumbs up!!!!!

Counter seating, but wasn't a problem. Ordered waffle, breakfast potatoes, and turkey sausage. The food was awesome, cooked just right. The menu has more than breakfast items, so you can options. Quick service and turnaround. Good price for the meal. Worth a visit.

5 stars for location, great service, value, fast and friendly server, and amazing food! After walking the whole entire Reading Terminal Market, I finally found Pearl's. I was searching for eggs Benny. Pearls is a diner style oyster bar serving brunch and of course, Benny's. Despite the 3.5 rating, I gave in to the feign and ordered me a crabcake Benny. Crabcake Benny - served atop toasted baguette, home style potatoes on the side. WOWserrrrs! Best Benny I've ever had in my life! Poached eggs and lumped crabcakes mouthwatering and cooked to perfection without the fishy smell or taste. I've died and gone to crab heaven. Next time, I will get the chicken and waffle Benny because that looked amazing too.

Located in the Reading Terminal Market, right inside the door, is the best place in town for a delicious, filling, well priced breakfast. The stuffed French Toast and blueberry pancakes along with the crab cake Eggs Benedict are just the beginning.

The atmosphere is fun at this restaurant since it is located inside the Reading Terminal Market. Service was great both days, and the food was excellent.

Great fresh food, excellent raw oysters, and a lot of food for the money. The oyster sliders are so good!

Excellent seafood at Reading Terminal Market. Wasn't aware of Pearl's, but am very glad I found it. Fresh, flavorful seafood, breakfasts and lunches. Highly recommend it.

We came here for breakfast. My husband had the southern fried chicken and waffles, I had shrimp and grits and a poached egg on toasts. The food was nice but it was a bit pricey compared to other places. Worth trying but there are loads of great breakfast places nearby so we only ate he once (and became regulars somewhere else)

Had a great time bantering back and forth with the waitstaff as we tried to decided what to have for breakfast. This place is in a crowded and noisy location which added to its "ambience". Fried oysters with eggs was a real hit.

The menu is hard to choose from. So many interesting choices. I went with the scallops. They were creamy and sweet and perfectly seared. Service is friendly and efficient. Well done !!

We where looking for a breakfast spot and came across Pearls located inside reading terminal market. The food was fresh and made to order. We ordered the french toast and waffle. The food came fast and hot. The waffle was very light not heavy or doughy and the french toast delicious. It can get busy and not to many places to sit. We will be back.

This is a great place to try snapper soup. Not red snapper; actually snapping turtle, which is surprisingly meaty and flavorful. Ask for some dry sherry to add to it. It's a Philadelphia traditional specialty, and there aren't that many places you can get it any more.

Great place to get breakfast while in Reading Terminal Market. The Philly eggs were especially good.

Pearl's had been there forever and a friend wanted fried claims so I went. Service is is inconsistent at lunch time and there are several regulars that are at the counter. Portions are average size but this is not getting fried clams at the shore- everything seems frozen and institutional and not freshly made. If you have a crazing for fried clams or fish this is one of the few places in center city that fits that niche.

We had lunch here yesterday, its inside the Reading Terminal Market complex. There is stools at the counter and a few tables as well. The food, from my observation is better than a lot in the market, opting for quality and freshness over quantity. That said, the serves aren't small, this is Philly after all!! He hade the scallops and I had the crab cakes. The elderly English couple beside us tackled the largest serve of French toast, apple, blueberries and maple syrup, I've ever seen( they looked like they loved it!) The staff are great.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning, and I'd highly recommend trying the Breakfast Po'boy. DELICIOUS. Their coffee was pretty great, too.

I always love to stop here for the fried oyster platter. So good. of course over the last several years the ownership I believed has changed. Younger people perhaps family members , service is still good.

My husband and I stopped in for brunch following the Taste Philly Food Tour that also happens to take place at the Reading Terminal Market. My husband loves breakfast food and was thrilled with his made of order omlet, hash browns and fruit. I'm not a breakfast lover and was thrilled to find Fish Tacos on the menu. The fish was fresh and delicious, served with homemade pico and an amazing light and creamy sauce. The salad was delicious. This happening spot was full the entire time we were there but the staff was quick, efficient and responsive. You'd never know they had a packed house. Can't wait to come back!!

Inside the Reading Terminal Market. Looked like a great joint for seafood when we were in the Market the day before. We went back for breakfast on Sunday when many of the stalls are closed. The breakfast was wonderful. We had eggs Benedict, french toast and scrapple. All were super tasty. The home fried potatoes were deep fried and delicious.

I stopped here for breakfast on my way to comic con. It was neat to have a diner inside the Market. I am pretty picky so I kept it simple with eggs, toast, and potatoes. Everything was fast, hot, and very tasty. Prices were fair. Started my morning off on the right foot.

We were looking for fresh seafood in the Market and on Sunday they also have brunch foods. The server recommended my friend get the cold tower plater lots of raw and cooked shellfish presented nicely. I had the seared salmon in tomato broth with grits it was great. Also reasonable prices for quality of food in great location!

Just happen to pass though Reading terminal to pick up fruit and stopped and had oyster platter. Very good and crisp. They did not fry the oyster too hard which I have often run in to. Great Cole sale which I wish they would just give a little more. A little pricey for lunch but very good.

5 stars for location, great service, value, fast and friendly server, and amazing food! After walking the whole entire Reading Terminal Market, I finally found Pearl's. I was searching for eggs Benny. Pearls is a diner style oyster bar serving brunch and of course, Benny's. Despite the rating, I gave in to the feign and ordered me a crabcake Benny. No need to stop at any greasy spoons or over-prices hipster diners.... just come straight here! The breakfast menu has something for everyone, and offers items that range from the run-of-the-mill eggs and omelets to more creative dishes. My favorite is the open-faces scrapple sandwich with spinach and goat cheese, and my boyfriend loves all of the different eggs Benedict dishes they have. All of the food is of very high quality and the portions are generous. I love the open kitchen also. If there aren't any seats just wait- the service is usually incredibly fast and a spot will open up soon enough. They take cash and credit cards.

Our tour bus told us about Reading Market and this is the first place we found walking in. I was going to try oysters but I think it was too early so I had a breakfast. Not to sound like a pig but my wife pointed out how attractive our waitress was. Indeed she was but she also had a great personality. The latter being the reason to go of course, great service! The food was also excellent and if I ever go back, I'd stop again. For the food and service!

We had some raw oysters thay were fantastic! Fresh, light and clean. The crab mac 'n cheese was tangy and hearty on th is cold rainy day. My husband had the snapper soup, which by the way, is turtle not fish as we assumed. He said it was comparable to beef stew amd was pretty good. A MUST if you are near. We'll probably go back and have more oysters before we leave.

Stopped in for awesome breakfast at this Restaurant inside the Redding Terminal Market after noticing that several Philly Cops were eating there and appeared to be regulars. Was not disappointed. Creamy cheese grits with three farm eggs, crispy bacon, and English muffins, staff was friendly as well. I will be back.

This is now my go to place for breakfast whenever I'm in Philly. The best benedicts, crab cakes, oysters, etc. Not just eggs! And great staff. This is one of the few places in the market for a sit-down meal with service so finding a seat can be tough at peak periods, but worth the wait.

Pearl's Oyster Restaurant serves up fresh fish in a flash at Reading Terminal Market! The friendly wait staff promptly takes your order and delivers consistently delicious soups, salads, fried calamari, shrimp oysters, flounder and the like at this always busy casual eatery.

I've been fortunate enough to experience this restaurant multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. From their crab cake benedict, wild salmon over jalapeño cheddar grits, or their scallops with quinoa. Each dish was fantastically prepared, freshly made and perfectly sized portions. Great place to people watch and enjoy the bustle of the Terminal Market. Close to many of Philadelphia's attractions. ❤️

It was great food, cozy place and good volume. The service was very casual and not super quick but the food did cover all. Try when not crazily busy.

Inside the Reading Terminal and absolutely wonderful! We had the Oyster Eggs Benedict and it was absolutely awesome. It was so good that we went back for lunch one day and had some of the best raw oysters. Note: the Reading Terminal closes at 5:00 so plan on breakfast or lunch not dinner

You sit at the counter with all the noise and hub bub behind you and enjoy a great selection of raw oysters, Even better was the unusual combination of seared scallops and pork belly with a fantastic sweet potato and spinach hash. It has other great menu items also.

My husband & I love this place & stop by everytime we're in the Reading Terminal Market. Hannah was wonderful the last time we stopped by!

Where else can you get oyster sliders for breakfast or oyster stew. Here it is plus SOS(a throwback), Fried scrapple or a number of other interesting dishes. Served at a very long bar in the terminal marketplace . Lot sof un but make sure that you come early or it will be a wait.

They no longer have the shrimp and grits on their menu, but the crabcake eggs benedict is still quite nice.

We stopped at Reading Terminal Market for breakfast and chose this place as it was full of locals. We both had omelettes which were really good, bottomless coffee and friendly service.

Came here for lunch while touring Philadelphia. The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the menu. I decided to get the New England Clam Chowder that was served with sherry and oyster crackers. The chowder was of the right thickness and did have visible clams in it along with potatoes and other soup necessities. The sherry added a nice additional layer of flavor to the soup. Having had many clam chowders, this was slightly above average, but would definitely be comforting on a cold day. I would definitely go back to Pearl Oyster Bar and try some of the other things off the menu like the oysters, seared scallops, and Maryland Crab Cakes.

Stopped in for the very first time and was impressed. It was a busy Saturday, they had a few seats open so we decided to give it a try as I love Oysters. Got the Oyster sliders and they were simply amazing! They came in a reasonable time and were hot and very tasty. . The service and wait staff were great. Next time we are down in that area we will be stopping by again. Thank you so much for a great sandwich.

We had breakfast here twice during our stay. The food was as fresh as can be since they source most of the ingredients directly from the market. The chicken and waffles Benedict was delicious and if sea food is more your speed, they have that covered too. The staff was friendly and took the time to chat with us and answer any question we had about the menu. Highly recommend.

What a great place for some fast seafood. Sitting area but fills in fast, Friendly servers. The menu is small but hits all the bases. Had the clam chowder and it was really good, added hot sauce and perfect. Too bad could not have two slices of buttered french toast.

When in Philly it is for work and I am at the convention center - Pearl's is one of my go to places for breakfast. Their Crab Cake Benedict is delicious. The staff is very friendly and service is quick.

I was in Philadelphia for the Flower Show and had breakfast at Pearl’s Oyster . Their breakfasts are huge and you get a lot of food. I had the Breakfast platter with Scrambled eggs, Turkey bacon, Hash browns and a side of French Toast and everything was excellent. The eggs were nice and buttery, the Hash browns were perfectly spiced and the French Toast was made with a thick bread and tasted like cinnamon. It was delicious. The service was quick and could not have been nicer. The waitress was extremely friendly.

We had the regular breakfast of eggs, bacon etc. Service was good, as was the coffee. They also offer southern breakfast choices etc

Truly wonderful shrimp and grits eggs Benedict. Grits were cheeselicious and the eggs were perfect. Also tried the chicken and waffles benedict and the blueberry oatmeal which were outstanding. Everything was fresh and delicious. They take their food seriously.

i had to talk my 14 year grand into having lunch here...the best part about it was sitting in the window watching the comic con folk walk by in their costumes....when the server came to take our order i attempted to ask how her day was going...she literally replied she was so sorry she was there....and eventually we were sorry we were there as well....the chowder was thinnish with a very minimal amount of any type of fish....the snapper was a faint memory of what it used to be.....my fish samich fared better than the fish and chips grandgirl ordered....she didn't even want to eat more than a half piece of the fish.....interestingly enough folk kept coming up to sit down who weren't going to eat there, but just wanted to sit....the server had to keep repeating that it wasn't public seating....maybe that accounted for her sour disposition

Located in Philadelphia's Reading Market, Pearl's offers an oasis of relative tranquility with superb food choices, excellent service, and local color. The Reading Market is a food emporium with lots of choices for food. Pearl's resembles a dinner with a long counter and a small area with tables, all of this is embedded within this enormous food court-like market. I went there for breakfast several time during my stay in Philadelphia. The breakfast was excellent. Large portions accompanied by generous side dishes. My favorite was the eggs benedict with cheddar grits. The coffee was robust and flavorful. The counter staff was superb, very warm and gregarious. The price was reason given its location. Definitely I recommend for breakfast!

We stopped here for a quick bite before an event at the convention center. It was good! The reading terminal market has so many options and this was a good choice! Oysters were fresh and delicious. And the scallops with risotto were another excellent, gluten free option.

Without a shade of doubt, the Reading Market is quite interesting for a stroll, to spend some time, to grab a bit to eat. After some time time around, the Pearl's has a great advantage to offer a sitting place which, ones soon finds out is more important than the quality of the food, which is just regular, just like the service.

We've eaten here several times and highly recommend it for brunch. It's visually diner-style seafood joint but definitely if subtly gourmet. Their scallops are always fresh, they used to serve it with corn, quinoa, and vinaigrette that is all the right flavor contrast and profile. Recently it was served more seasonally, also very tasty. We've had great oysters here too. They always have inventive, creative offerings for specials. Service is straight forward. And they even accept credit card now :-p. There are a lot of sit down places in reading terminal. This is the one we choose consistently.

We snacked on raw oysters. Very fresh and delicious. Attentive staff in the very crowded and busy Reading Terminal Market. Worth a stop. Definitely.

My GF and I actually stumbled by here on accident and I'm glad we did. We had heard they had a couple places for breakfast and while getting cookies before eating we saw Pearl's. After sitting down and seeing cannoli waffle as a special, I was in love. Even after seeing that, I still looked at a very creative and expansive menu. They had a breakfast po boy I'm upset I didn't get to try, it sounded amazing. The whole menu sounded amazing and I really wish we had found this place sooner. The staff was absolutely amazing. Each person, about four we interacted with, were helpful, friendly, fast, and professional. To keep up all that with it being packed, and we were told a slow day, was very impressive. Everything about Pearl's is awesome. If you think you aren't going to find an amazing meal in the Terminal, you're off, cause this place has it.

Used to have wonderfully rich, thick clam chowder. Obviously the recipe has changed. Thought the watered down soup was sour - asked the waitress who said it was "lemon zest"! Hard to find clams, but lots of potatoes. Actually the best thing they have is the truffled, parmesan french fries. Really Good!!

I came one morning for breakfast. The breakfast burrito was awesome. Big, tasty and filling. Reasonably priced. Not much too it, just good.

Counter seating, and a few tables. Very friendly wait staff. My nephew had a HUGE breakfast burrito, my sister-in-law ordered the mussels (generous steaming portion), and I order the scallops with pork belly, kale and sweet potatoes. Really wonderful food. CASH ONLY.

This place was spot on. We stopped in for breakfast our first day of vacation and liked it so much, we went back 3 more times. Yogurt with with fruit compote, cheesy grits, eggs, waffles, all good. Hot coffee and great service. We never made it for lunch, but the menu looked really good with lots more options than just than some of the other diner sort of places.

Why go to New Orleans its here for you and your family or the love of your LIFE will like this eye and ear adventure for its not that expensive!!!!!!!

Great Chowder and Fried Seafood. They offer great fried Fish and Chips, clams, oysters, shrimp. Batter is very crispy and not greasy. A go to for fish and chips.

Began my first full day in Philadelphia by having breakfast in this modern diner. Our hotel bellman Steve recommended it and he was right on point. I enjoyed a delicious egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on a warm Kaiser roll with home fried potatoes and a strong cup of coffee. We were served by a very nice young man. Loved the experience.

This meas was great in itself. Instead of fries, I ordered green beans and salad and they were also great. Looking over the menu, I see the chef has some awesome dishes for breakfast, so I am anxiously waiting to go back very soon.

I stop here for Oysters, always fresh and has variety. Its got a nice staff and counter area. We always make a stop here before leaving the Reading Market as our final treat.

My hubby, sister and I all loved the food here. I had the breakfast, great homefries, great sausage, eggs cooked perfectly, toast was undercooked and had to send back to get retoasted. My sister had a salad it was really good. The price was decent here.

Had lunch here this past weekend. There are many great choices in the Reading Market....this one is worth a stop. And, for lunch, if you just order the Caesar Salad and the Ceviche, you will be well-rewarded. I had the tortilla soup, and it was nice. The service was happy, and I have to say that I will be back here. Oh, I had the oysters, and for the $$$, not the best choice. However, they did have a nice assortment of them, so if you appreciate the nuance of different geographic flavors of oysters, then you may like them.

The sign tells the story - 45 years of serving the best seafood in the area from a fantastic location in the corner of Reading Terminal Market! The crab cakes entry is fantastic, so we had to go back for the Crab Cakes Benedict for breakfast - such a unique menu item that words do not do it justice! Top that with a fantastic liberty-themed waffle, an excellent people-watching location, and a wait staff that is friendly, knowledgeable, and cheerful, and it makes an excellent dining experience!

At my first visit, the water recommended something other than oyster and the dish was not impressive at all. So I made another visit to taste fresh oyster, the waitress gave me something right before to go bad. Only fried ones were tasty and that’s it-

Located in the Reading Market, Pearl’s Oyster Bar has great service & excellent food. I ordered the crab cake Benedict & it was delicious. My bill was less than $15 and I was pleasantly full upon leaving. This is popular among locals & frequented by law enforcement officers. There is seating at the counter as well as tables at the window making it great for people watching too!

The seafood platter was a bit disappointing but the apple kale salad was excellent, huge and beautiful presentation. Fun setting made for a great late lunch spot.

My husband's oyster sliders were very good. 3 large fried oysters were served on toasted brioche buns. This is not the place if you wish to avoid fried foods. I chose clam chowder which was a disappointment. The soup was luck warm at best and not tasting of clams. The waitress was prompt and agreeable.

I was attending a conference at the Convention Center across the street so I had occasion to eat here a couple of times. The first time was for breakfast and I had an absolutely delicious Crab Cakes Benedict. I then came back for lunch and had a much less successful fried shrimp lunch.. The shrimp were over fried and quite dry. Overall, this dish was quite disappointing. Then the next evening I had a half dozen oysters on the half shell and they terrific. So, would I come back? Absolutely! I would just be selective with what I order.

Upon the recommendation of our Delta Flight Attendant, we had a great breakfast at Pearl's Oyster Bar. We shared the Chicken & Waffles Benedict and the Oysters Rockefeller Benedict. Both were wonderful. Don't miss eating here and then wander the Reading Market. Highly recommend by me!

We were walking around the area en route from our hotel to the Independence Hall site. What a great breakfast. Good time at a counter, regular breakfast choices even at 10 am. Good counter service and nice people. Busy but we got seats.

Wonderful Belgian waffle, and a great breakfast sandwich, with quick and friendly service in a relaxed environment sitting at the counter. My only "complaint" is that they don't serve decaf coffee.

My husband got bacon and banana French toast and it was amazing! I love their grits and homefries too. Gets crowded, so get there early. Friendly service. We come here for breakfast when in Philly.

Fish products are cooked very well and they are always fresh. I visit quite often and have taken out of town guest.

Reminds me of the classic oyster houses in San Francisco and (not many left in) Philadelphia. Oyster stew, fried seafood with fries and slaw. Perfect with the stool seating. Always a buzz.

Reading Market is a must to go to while you are in Phily. Plenty of options for meals and Pearls is the place to go for some great seafood. Not only is the food good but the waiters do a great job considering how crowded it can get. The setting reminds me of an old downtown diner where you sit at the bar and get to meet interesting people.

Who would have thought you could get a great breakfast at an Oyster Bar! We came into Reading Market on Wednesday morning just to check things out and see if there might be something for breakfast. There were 4 seats at the counter, just the right number for our group, and so we sat down and ordered breakfast, WOW were we pleasantly surprised! My daughter had a huge bowl of oatmeal with apples and walnuts that was delicious. Her friend and I had french toast, the banana & bacon one and the apple and granola, neither one of us could finish as it was a tremendous amount of food and my husband had the 3 eggs with bacon, potatoes and toast, which he said was really good. The coffee was bottomless and pretty good and the service was fantastic! The girls were very attentive and made sure we had what we needed and were really pleasant! (Even saw them later in the day when we came back to the market for ice cream and they were still smiling!)

Enjoyed French toast here!!! The traditional and the banana-bacon are great! Service is kinda slow and its cash only!

I have only been here for breakfast. You sit a the counter and choose form a limited but sufficient breakfast menu. You don’t leave hungry and you don’t leave broke. Love the seasoned potatoes and the egg sandwich with scrapple. The staff is efficient and attentive. Happy to support them!

Had a great breakfast/brunch wasn't expecting it. Food looked so good I tried it. I really liked it.

A lovely place to sit inside and outside. The speciality is oysters and where you can get tasted different types for 4-5 $. The food otherwise well and service good. Restaurant can be recommended to everyone.

Pearl’s is a no nonsese oyster bar at Reading Terninal Market. Delicious oyster selection. Nicely casual service. Great experience.

We had really lovely waffle, crispy and fluffy at the same time, together with the most delicious and exceptional oyster benedict. They allowed us to buy coffee from the coffee place next door and the delicious cookies from 4th street cookies to supplement our breakfast. Service was great, the place is a bit grimy (sticky tables from syrup) and they have no high chair. However the delicious food made up for that little bit of shortcoming.

We are staying at the hotel across the street and wanted to eat breakfast in the market. After walking around the most popular spot had a line so this place had seating and got our vote. Service was outstanding. I had the omelette of the day which was spinach, mushrooms, red peppers and provolone. It was big and just okay, not enough cheese. It comes with fried potatoes which were good but not super hot and 2 pieces of toast. My husband ordered the fried oyster scramble and he said it was good but maybe the oysters were from yesterday’s dinner? He also had fried potatoes. All in all I’d say you are given a lot of food that is just average with great service at a high price.

After having spent three hours touring the Phil. Flower Show it was time for lunch. My friends and I walked across the street to survey the possibilities at the Reading Terminal and finally decided to try Pearl's because we could sit after a long morning of walking. Despite it being after one, the place was a mad house. One of the wait staff kept everything in order for the people waiting to be seated. Once seated the staff was incredibly efficient and the food came out of the kitchen piping hot and delicious One had the fried combo One had the fried flounder One had the fried oysters All the fish was delicious, hot and cooked perfectly The fries were crisp and the slaw was nicely done. CASH ONLY - BEWARE It is a place I will revisit. The raw fish looked delicious but with a long trip home ahead, I did not venture a sampling. Bravo - you handled the rush expertly and your quality did not suffer.

Pearl's, located in the Terminal Market is a great place for breakfast. It offers a very large menu of items to fit every taste. We ordered breakfast sandwiches on our first visit, sandwiches larger than I have ever seen for breakfast!!! My wife and I ordered a more traditional breakfast on our second visit and again were amazed at the portions of food they serve. The prices are reasonable and both account for the large crowds waiting for serve at this well-known establoishment.

We had the pleasure of a fantastic dinner with plenty of seating since we arrived as things were winding down for the day at the Reading Market on Feb 24. Pearl's stops taking orders at 5:45. One of the best sea food restaurants we've been to recently was Pearl's in Charleston SC, so we were interested in trying our local Pearl's Oyster Restaurant. The plates were beautifully presented and every bite was delicious. It was as if we had walked into a fine dining special on the Food Network. Our dinners were selected on the recommendations made by our friendly servers, who explained preparation details such as a freshly-reduced wine sauce for mine. Ask for their recommendations. So good. Can't wait to go back! Great value.

Had the eggs Benedict with scrapple. Eggs and Hollandaise sauce were perfect. Tried scrapple just to try, I would have preferred ham, just no flavor from the scrapple. I also had the cheese grits, the flavor was good but the consistency still reminds me of wallpaper paste. Service was quick and would recommend for breakfast.

Went for breakfast. This place is located inside of the Reading Market in Philadelphia. The Chicken and waffles and Banana French toast were awesome. Costs more than your average breakfast but worth it.

Delish grits and shrimp. Eggs Benedict, crab cake eggs Benedict, and jerk chicken. Everything on the menu looked perfect and what we tasted was even better! Attentive staff too

I had the Oyster Sliders, lunch menu item. Three sliders, ONE fried Oyster on each slider. It looked beautiful, tasted fabulous and came with a nice ample salad. The coleslaw accompanying it was fabulous, crunch, tangy. Everything good about it was ruined by the fact that there were only three Oysters... for $16, three Oysters. Oh, and an iced tea. I did complain to the waiter. He asked on my behalf and was told "that's the nature of the product and it's the recipe". Soooo, that's my last time there. It's a shame. It was so good. BTW kudos to the waiter, he was fabulous.

Sit at the counter and let the waiter make suggestions, we loved the chorizo gravy, scrapple, waffles and crab egg Benedict. It is in the middle of the market, so it is noisy, but very friendly and great flavors

I had planned to go somewhere else that was closed this morning but I stopped at Pearl's instead. What a nice surprise. The food was excellent and the service was so friendly. I am surprised that I have not stopped here before. I ate a the bar and had the Breakfast platter with three scrambled eggs, with turkey sausage that is bought at the market, hash browns and a side of French Toast, which was made from thick cut hallah bread. Everything was so good and tasted perfect. The plate presentation was nice and the restaurant was spotless. You can tell that the owners really care as well as the staff.

Food was ok nothing to special. Ordered grits and shrimp and a fish sandwich. My shrimp and grits only had one thin sausage and 4 large FRIED shrimp. Grits was tasty but wasn’t expecting fried shrimp. My husband said his fish sandwich was so so.

Everything is GOOD! Made fresh, and served quickly. Good service and great prices. I wish we had this place in south florida. Brunch is even better.

My Chicken and waffles was just OK. Three small chicken white meat nuggets that were very over-fried and tasteless. The honey butter improved the taste. They serve it with ranch dressing (I asked for it on the side) which I assume is done to cover the blandness of the chicken. My wife’s egg and bacon was good with a generous supply of bacon.

I was staying right around the corner so I stopped by on consecutive days on the weekend. Brunch is solid and fairly inexpensive.

Staff helped make birthday breakfast celebration a hit. Food was good and filling. Service was fast and attentive. Cramped space without feeling cramped.
Stay away !!
Overpriced garbage!!.Extremely stingy on protion, home fries were a small garnishment of tiny dried out miniature hush puppies with no flavor ! Eggs were cold and nasty ! $4 upcharge for French toast and I got one small slice of bread ! I had to beg for jelly !! After asking for it initially. The guy taking orders has absolutely no people skills and is only concerned with the money ! Absolutely disgusting customer service, Definitely will be sticking with the Dutch breakfast counter near Beilers Donuts, they have way bigger portions, real homefries and a lot friendlier towards paying customers !!
