I like this place. It's an easy, diner/restaurant with a pretty big menu focused on American classics. Service has always been great, always managed to get a table, indoor and outdoor seating (always a great option for my dog). The food is overall good, be wary of pretty big portions on some of the options. Potato skins are a must!

Had a really good meal and experience here- good food, nice atmosphere are great staff. Nice view right off the water with a good selection and moderate prices (for San Francisco!).

Very noisy and the food was very average. A veggie burger that wasn't even warm, penne pasta that had too few vegetables and too much pasta.

Perry’s is a good local place for food and drinks. Great menu and choice of seating inside or out. Good bar scene and cheap wines on Tuesday and Saturday. Had a good meal with the family. Wings and ribs were hot. Burger food and Ahi Poke was excellent.

Two of us shared the Cobb Salad and we couldn't finish it! Delicious in all respects. Friends ordered Lamb Shanks...not a hit. Very noisy at the peak hour, but it is the nature of the restaurant and location.

We celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday at Perry's. They accommodated 24 of us in the patio. It was a perfect September evening in the city (which is the warmest month in SF). We did not need sweaters or heat lamps. It's great that there are heat lamps just in case. And the view of the lit-up Bay Bridge was absolutely spectacular! For our event we selected: Roasted Half Chicken; Grilled Salmon; New York Strip; Penne Pasta. All 4 dishes were absolutely delicious!! And substantial servings too. All the wait staff were great too! I highly recommend Perry's for lunch; dinner; or private event. Our Event Coordinator, Beauty, was so helpful in every way and really made our event spectacular and perfect!! Enjoy!!

After shopping at the Ferry Building, we enjoyed a breakfast/brunch at Perry's. Service was just OK, but they were very busy. Portions large and tasty. Would return and recommend.

We wandered in for dinner on a Saturday night. No reservation, but they had a table available. We opted to sit at the bar. It was a good choice. Heather was our bartender and server. She was fantastic from the very start. Spot on with the drink and food recommendations. She was very friendly and attentive. The food (I had meatloaf and hubby had the pork chop) was very flavorful and tasty and nicely presented. Highly recommend this place.

This place was awesome - good food at a good price. Burger was perfectly done. nothing fancy just good food.

Perry's is situated on the bottom floor of our hotel. Very convenient for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is open late. Great menu choices. The staff is very friendly. The crowd at the bar for happy hour is quite festive.

I ate there for breakfast while staying at the Griffon and also had the lamb shank for dinner one night. Atmosphere was great and food was delicious

Had breakfast while we were visiting the area and had the Eggs Benedict with the Avacado! Delicious and so were the Bloody Marys! Very comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff! We enjoyed our visit!

My wife goes here a couple of times a year and loves it. We walked in and the vibe was nice and the service to get us a table was fast. The menu was pretty big and my only complaint was that the print was small for my aging eyes. We both ordered Rueben sandwiches. Big error. Maybe the chef was sick that day but the order was almost impossible to bite through. I opened it up and forked over 1/4 inch slabs of dried up shoe leather that had no taste. The dressing had no taste either. I would have called the manager but we had to run for the ferry.

One of our favorite places to eat while playing tourist. The pot roast with creamy mash potatoes is my go to dish. The meat is soo tender and the gravy has a wonderful flavor. We always sit outside to people watch and specially enjoy the view of the Bay Bridge with cargo ships passing under. Ambiance, service are fantastic. 6/24/21

Stopped in for dinner while in town, place was crowed so sat at the bar and watched the Giants game. While a small draft selection, the beer quality was excellent. Just had a veggie burger and sweet potato fries, both were very good. Would go back again

Do not eat at Perry's if you are a single diner and want to sit somewhere other than the counter or a "deuce". Tried to eat breakfast there last week - 10 minutes after opening with all of three parties in the dining room - and yet was told in no uncertain terms that I would not be permitted to sit at a table nominally set for four. In an almost EMPTY restaurant after spending the night at the adjacent and connected Hotel Griffon. Worst part was the hotel refused to do anything saying they're not responsible for the restaurant. Will not repeat at either establishment and will recommend the same to friends and business associates. No. Way. To. Treat. Your. "Guest".

Had dinner there both nights we stayed at the Hotel Griffon and loved both dinners. First night was pot roast and wild caught King salmon and both were delicious. Second night was 1 1/2 lb. fresh Maine lobster dinner for an incredible $29.95. Shared the dinner with 6 of our friends and family, and all of them loved their meals as well. Excellent service and great drinks, bartender got mine perfect.

There were not a lot of places open along the Embarcadero on a Monday evening, and several of them had sky high prices. This was a reasonable choice, lots of classic American cuisine at affordable prices. And a good bar. Large portions, we took food home. Very friendly service. The food was very good and the place convivial.

We had drinks and then breakfast the next day. The appetizer menu for cocktails is limited. The bar is nice and staff was great. Breakfast was good, not great. Had an eggs benedict with bacon instead of ham. It was just ok. I would only come here if staying in the hotel above.

While staying in San Francisco, we came to Perry's several times. The food was great and the bartender Brian was awesome. He treated us like we had been coming in for years. Prices were reasonable for the area. Definitely recommend a stop in for drinks and potato skins.

Nice place. We had a late breakfast here with a nice view on bay bridge. Prices are okay and the food is really good.

It was easy to get a reservation here. There is a full bar with reasonably priced drinks. On Saturdays they have half price bottles of wine. The food was okay but not great. We had salads that were fine but not special. However the cornbread was yummy. The portions are pretty large and it was fairly quiet. There is no air conditioning.

We stayed at the associated Griffon Hotel (completely wonderful, please see my separate review if you are looking for accommodation) for a week and ate at Perry’s many times for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and popped in just for drinks too. The table staff are completely delightful, genuinely friendly, efficient and helpful (a young lady called Merry was our particular favourite – she is utterly charming!). The setting is great with a patio area looking out over the Bay Bridge. Inside is lovely too with a long bar, various tables and booths. The menu is very varied. The breakfast menu on first glance is not huge but you soon realise that there are lots of sides which allow you to build many different meals just the way you want them. Brunch was lovely (eggs benedict was fabulous), lunch and dinner were also very good. The side dishes are quite large (I ordered 2 sides, the loaded potato skins and onion rings to eat as a main meal one evening and barely scratched the surface), main courses are generous but not so huge that can’t eat it all if very hungry. The chicken quesadilla was fabulous and much nicer than the one we had across the road at a specifically Mexican restaurant. They have various offers through the week, half price bottles of wine on 2 nights, half price burgers on another night etc plus happy hour (certain drinks and snacks reduced) each day. I really wanted to give Perry’s 5 stars but there was one issue which prevents this. Whilst the table staff are delightful, the “Hosts” (who seat you, take bookings etc) were rather less so. They paid little regard to the fact that we were hotel guests (paying for a full weeks hotel accommodation and eating at their restaurant many times – about $1000 restaurant bill total in a week for 2 of us). They seemed reluctant to reserve us a table, repeatedly suggesting we “just turn up and see” instead. Considering we’d just flown 11 hours + a train journey/walk and wanted to be sure of a meal close to home, this wasn’t great. They finally did reserve us a table but it was on the 4th request to specifically book one. We also had an issue where we were told by a host we could order from the “Brunch Menu” from 11am so we waited in the hotel foyer for 45 minutes (the restaurant is closed 10.30 to 11am and we were not allowed to wait in there despite breakfast guests still being there) until 11am. We were told brunch was only at weekends (it was a Tuesday). Although we had waited all that time and been told we could have brunch by their staff, we were just told it was not possible with no offer of seeing if the chef could accommodate our requests or any further help (it was only just 11am and there were only 2 tables taken, ours and one other). Most of the “Hosts” smiled the least of all the staff we saw which made them seem a rather odd choice for the “Hosting” job, especially considering how fabulous the waiting staff were! Such a shame because the hotel, waiting staff and food were all 5 star!

We had a great evening here Food selection good Good choice of drinks Waitress friendly service Felt welcoming Great vibe Happy to help you anyway they can We recommend Great for couples or families

Location is nice but the food it not edible! Had the worst soup dinner every. French onion soup was cheese goobed on bread over a cream mushroom sauce. sent it back, Dabs were not anything you would want to eat overcooked and fresh prepared not good. Only redeeming part was waitress took it all off the bill. Just unbelievably bad food

This may be my first "meh" review on TripAdvisor. Perry's is on the bottom floor of the Hotel Griffon, where we stayed when we visited San Francisco. We had dinner there the first night we were there. The food was okay, but the restaurant was extremely loud, very busy, and no matter what, the waitress couldn't seem to get anything right. On the off-chance that it was just an "off" night, we tried again, for breakfast, the day before we left town. Service was slow, and breakfast was uninspiring. There are lots of places to eat in San Francisco - I would recommend going elsewhere if you want a meal to remember.

Had dinner here and breakfast the next morning. Dinner was good, nothing great. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise - good portions, flavorful, fast service, reasonable prices. The bar is popular in the evenings and the place is often crowded.

First ate at Perry's when they opened many years ago on Union St. Had lunch and dinner here: grilled artichokes, potato skins etc. Service was friendly and competent. I don't have any complaints about the food, it just wasn't inspired, but when you're hungry and don't want to keep looking for a place to eat now, Perry's delivers on better than average, satisfying food.

Great place to get a good drink. A wide range of wines, beer, and other drinks. They also have good food. Their Burgers are delicious and worth it. I would return and enjoy some drinks and food after work with my friends.

Had brunch here with out-of-town visitors last Saturday. It was not busy so the noise level was low and conversation easy. Good and varied brunch menu (note: NOT a buffet brunch), varied drink selections such as mimosas, bloody Mary's. I loved the French toast with fruit, others in party enjoyed the eggs benedict. Service was friendly and efficient. We came by Uber so can't comment on parking. One other note: the restrooms are one flight down and the stairs not easy to negotiate for mobility challenged people.

Enjoyed a good breakfast in a comfortable restaurant. Great location close to the Ferry Building. Server was friendly.

Quite the happening place, especially when the Giant's are playing! Friendly and accommodating! Excellent customer service!

As the review says ,we were staying nearby at the harbour court hotel which doesn't have a bar so Percy's is nice and handy if you want a drink . The bar is not large but they show all the sports games etc . A number of tables were reserved don't know if this was for regulars or you can prebook bar tables ? .. We were also wanting to eat so were happy to go into the restaurant , the staff were nice and friendly even if they did struggle with our Scottish accents . Like most American restaurants the portions are huge but the meals were fresh and enjoyable . The prices were OK for San Francisco considering the poor rate of the pound to the dollar . We had a good time and decided to revisit later in the week and once again we had an enjoyable time . Worth a visit

Staying in the Griffon hotel we thought this would be convenient for breakfast. We were first to arrive so quiet but got busier as we left. Breakfast was best described as dull. Waitress a little stern and all in all not the best start to a day in this great city. More imaginative menu needed and more taste in the food.

I went there because of the good reviews . It must be an off day for them The food was Horrible for the price. Chicken tenders were burnt...we hate to complain on food and my kid tried to eat them but they were really burnt ..so i ordered another pasta that showed up watery. My daughter had diarrhea right after the dinner. The salmon was ok but the dish was too salty The place is very dimly lit ...i guess, that way you cant see what you are eating. :)

Try the burger, add bacon avocado, and sweet potato fries. The Petrale Sole is outstanding. Great location

Our group of five enjoyed breakfast at Perry's: French toast, California Eggs Benedict, and the Monterey Scramble. Awesome! The convenience of Perry's in our hotel (The Griffon Hotel) was much appreciated!

12/1 5* Perry’s Happy Hour – crowded, noisy Fantastic service Food was excellent Loved the salmon The steak was awesome Had dessert sampler; to die for

Solid food at reasonable prices. Outside seating was nice - looking over the Ferry building and the bay bridge. Friendly service.

Food and service was excellent!! Great compliment to the Hotel Griffon. It was nice that it services breakfast lunch and dinner!

Happy hour every evening, eclectic menu, and excellent service. Relaxed setting to end one's day. Special wine offerings on specific evenings.

This is the only restaurant in San Francisco that we ate at more than once. In fact, we ate here three times. Highly recommend!

We ate at Perry’s on a Tuesday which is 1/2 price burger night. It was tasty and cooked to perfection. I would certainly return to this restaurant in the future.

The food was pretty good, but the view from the patio was absolutely amazing. We had a great time, and the waitress was very attentive and prompt. Excellent customer service with a great ambience. We will be back for sure.

Chose this restaurant as it was close to the Ferry Building and had limited time for a business dinner. It was a very quick walk from the Ferry Building in a nice hotel. The service was great. We were seated promptly (we had a reservation). I ordered the beet salad which was fresh and very tasty. My colleague had the fish of the day (monk fish) and it was good. The French onion soup was tasty and not too much cheese. Ordered a bottle of the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc which was light and fruity, which complemented both fish and meat. The coffee was just average. We told the server at the beginning, we had limited time and needed to catch a Ferry and he was great in serving all the food promptly but then disappeared when we needed the check. Luckily, there were other visible servers and we were able to settle the tab promptly and catch our Ferry. I would definitely return here as it was a very nice location, beautiful view and good food.

I am staying next door at the Harbor Court and Perry’s is the closest breakfast place. So they get credit for convenience. I ordered the bacon cheddar omelette. The menu is minimalist and it does not describe the potatoes and peppers that come with it. If it had, I’d have ordered anything else to substitute for that as I don’t eat those things. The omelette was ok, but was over cooked and the bacon was very hard to chew. The service was great.

We stayed at Harbor Court Hotel and Perry's was next door. Breakfast was really good and we had dinner here one night, as well as experiencing Happy hour. Food quality is great and wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

I moved to San Francisco a few months ago and every meal has been fantastic, until I came to Perrys.. By no means was it inedible but extremely average. The Mac and cheese also came out completely cold so we had to send it back, this time it only came out like warm. I was very excited to try Perrys but unfortunately it was disappointing.

Nothing too much to shout about regarding this place. Ordered their Ahi Poke, Clam Chowder, Meatloaf, Sweet Potato Fries and a bottle of Blue Moon beers; Cost: $58 before tips. Out of the dishes I ordered, I would recommend their Ahi Poke and Sweet Potato Fries.

Good menu and very convenient next to Harbor Court Hotel. Good Cappuccinos and loved the yogurt parfait. Sitting outside on patio you have a view of the embarcadero and the bay bridge. Also, great for dinner.

Near the bus station and the ferry building... lovely breakfast and good service... price are decent too

Perry's was a pleasant surprise as it's in the Hotel Griffin where we stayed. We had dinner outside one evening and breakfast in the dining room, both were very good. The wait staff were friendly and efficient, and prices not too bad considering the area they're located in.

This was attached to our hotel, Hotel Griffon. The food was great, I had a steak and it was very good. We did get a few of their mixed drinks, weren't my favorite but decent. The place is very long and skinny so it actually goes through the entire block so it has an outdoor patio on the both streets, one of which is across the street from the bay! We also ate here for breakfast one morning, very good options and I liked it as much as the steak! Service was probably average, but the uniqueness and the atmosphere in my mind made up for it.

The servers were great. Attentive and very accommodating. The food was very good. Nice selection from seafood to steaks. The Salads are huge and can be shared by two people. Very nice ambiance. Everything hit the spot from the beer to the food.

Thought since this wasn't formally rated (Zagat etc) it would be so-so like many hotel restaurants but was very pleasantly surprised with the ambiance, food quality and quantity, and attentive service.

Located on the Embarcadero near Mission Street, Perry's food is good, the bar is busy, and menu prices are reasonable.

This place was a great find and a perfect place to get dinner on my first night in San Francisco. The Chicken and Biscuits were great and so was the service!

Was recommended here by our concierge at hotel for breakfast. Menu was impressive but food did not love up to expectation. Service was ok but unmemorable and the whole experience was immediately forgettable.

I've had a few business lunches here in the past few months and can say this place is pretty consistent and good. Our group has had salads and burgers which are both offered in several different forms and variations. Pricing is fair and not that expensive for being downtown. The service from the wait staff has been good but the hostess at the front always seem a little uptight. We like this place and will keep it on our good places to eat list.

Good food but a bit pricey, but not as pricey as Boulevard around the corner. Dinners, sandwiches and salads.

The service was good and the price was right, but the food was only fair. Maybe it was because of what we choose. Meatballs were flat, ribs had way to much sauce on them which leaked all over my coleslaw.

We had dinner for two, having two sandwiches and a Mac & cheese. The place is nice and the Price quality ratio is great! Recommended 👍

Stayed at the harbor court next door. Had what could have been an excellent breakfast here except hubbys food was cold. Mine was good and their California Benedict is delicious. Went to their bar later in the evening. Two bartenders and neither were interested in serving us as they were too busy visiting with what seemed to be a bunch of locals at the bar. The lady bartender was picking her teeth with a toothpick while chatting with the customers and fixing drinks. That did it for me and we left after one drink.

Perry's is our go to for breakfast. Great for casual but good food and drinks and if you;re sports fan while out of town this is good place to be.

Went here for dinner with three colleagues. Made a reservation on open table and it worked out perfectly since we arrived at 6:15. Place was very busy with our table perfectly situated by the window. We shared a bottle of delicious Sauv Blanc and enjoyed the artichoke app. Lemon aioli was splendid! I had a burger and it was cooked to perfection. Homemade chips were out of this world. Will definitely go back to Perry's next time I'm in town..

We had the most wonderful; brunch on the way to the Rugby World Cup 7s. The service was good, the food options plentiful and a great Bloody Mary to boot!!. The ambience with the bar and booths added to a great way to start the day.

Stayed at adjoining Hotel Griffon for 4 nights and ate here several times (and had drinks/hors d'oeuvres several times). Service was excellent as they served breakfast, lunch and dinner. Perry's is a local chain of several places, based in hotels.

I tried several dishes and they weren't terribly imaginative. Large portions but not so carefully prepared.

We ordered a Caesar and mac and cheese. The Caeser was void of taste with the exception of the lettuce being bitter. The mac and cheese didn't have much flavor and the texture was grainy, like the cheese didn't get melted properly. The prices were pretty high (but it is San Francisco), but we felt the quality wasn't on par with the prices or the hype for this restaurant.

We ate here on a number of occasions (we were staying at Hotel Griffon which is in the same building). The lunches were fabulous and staff were excellent! Dinner's were a little more boisterous but still great. Breakfast, though, was really disappointing.

We stayed in the adjacent hotel and was recommended to eat here by the receptionist who assured us there were loads of veggie options. There weren't. The tomato soup isn't even vegetarian as it's made with chicken stock! The onion strings were greasy and there was enough to feed a family of 4. Smaller portion and a smaller price would reduce wastage. The veggie burger was dry and fell apart so was hard to eat. The veggie pasta was mediocre. Don't even try to eat here if you're vegan. We generally found San Francisco to be very unfriendly for veggie/vegan options which surprised us. In the UK the majority of menus are labelled with allergens so Perry's needs to step up and do the same. The server, Casey, was kind enough to alert us that the two veggie soups were made with meat before ordering. He was friendly but not enough to make us feel anything less than immense disappointment with our first dining experience in California. The bathrooms were clean and good selection of beers.

Everything about this restaurant was incredible, from the staff, to the food, to the view ... everything. We were so happy to come across this little gem! I will definitely be returning next time iam in san fran

We stopped here for a quick bite and a drink. They have a decent selection of beer on draft to choose from and a few specialty cocktails. We had the chili , which was average at best and not very spicy and the ahi poke which was exceptional. I would return if in the area again.

I only had a little time to grab brunch outside of my hotel. I was referred to Perry’s by my concierge. It was a great experience. I had a Bloody Mary and the Tortilla Scramble. Food was good as was the service. I will go back the next time I am in San Fran. They have a patio but it was already full.

Delicious food and great wait staff! The meals were seasoned perfectly and the portions were more than generous! Excellent choice for lunch or dinner!

Had lunch here with a group of friends for Saturday brunch! Had the signature cheeseburger with a bowl of clam chowder🙏🙏 Burger was excellent along with French fries!

Great place to eat. The food is excellent and if you get a table outside you have a nice view of the bridge. Loved it.

We were staying in the Hotel Griffon and booked a table at Perrys below. Excellent service, friendly staff and really made you fell good. Can’t recommend this place enough. Go for the steaks! Great place David

Perry’s is still a classic lunch spot whether union st or down on Embarcadero. Had the tuna steak sandwich and treated a few colleagues to burgers. Seated quickly and great service. Food was good and timing seemed just right.

This was our best meal this week! The filet and petite filets were cooked and seasoned to perfection and of great quality, the vegetables and mac n cheese very tasty, and halibut special very nice! Service was great, though our waitress could have smiled a bit more. The restaurant itself is very nice with a great vibe and layout, with views of bay bridge! What a great place to cap our 9 days in San Francisco! Thank you!

Stayed at a hotel close to this place recently. Got take out the first night - no dressing on the salad. Went back and asked for salad dressing. No apology - just handed dressing. Was really tired from day of meetings two nights later and tried take out again (thinking first night was just an off night). Nope - asked for no mayo on BLTA sandwich - they had to have put extra - no one puts that much mayo on one sandwich. Also - the chips were soggy and stale (how is that!). Almost like there were made a day or two before and were stored near something wet. Ordered the brownie for desert and couldn't even break it against the desk in my room it was so hard. Even though I come to the area twice a month for work and will be staying at that hotel again, I doubt I go back to this place.

We stayed at the hotel next door, so the restaurant was very convenient. We had lunch outside, excellent food & service. We also ended our busy days with a drink at the bar, bartenders were great!

Stopped in for lunch and able to get seated fairly quickly. Most of table enjoyed their burgers and salads. Calamari was good. I had an artichoke which was limp and soggy when supposed to be grilled. A few char marks but just bland and not much “meat” on it. The brunch items that came to our neighboring tables looked awesome!

First time here for dinner and it didn’t disappoint - try the paper plane cocktail or old school Mai-Tai’s in giant glasses as you settle in for a loud yet comforting environment. Enjoy the breadsticks while you await the entrees - the Southwest Salmon salad is outstanding and the special was a lovely prime rib sandwich with very good fries. Service was a tad slow but you were there to linger anyway. Cone by and enjoy!

We ordered breakfast and the serving were huge - thanks from two travelers who needed a great breakfast. Ambiance is very friendly and service excellent.

Nice all- american restaurant. We happend to catch some food and drink before dinner in Union square area and this exceed expectation.

The food was amazing and the drinks were just right. The staff was courteous and my order was brought back to me very quickly

This place is amazing. Great food, great service, great choices in a very nice atmosphere. The location is a plus for the financial district too.

Popped in for a late breakfast on Saturday and didn't wait too long BUT they squashed all the table to the street end of the restaurant even though we asked to seat on the bay side (reserved for booked guests!!). Very filling big plates, perfect kids portions and varied menu for the littler diners. California Benedict was the vegetarian dream, used a full avocado and was delicious. Hubby had scrambled eggs plate and there was plenty for him also. Vermont maple Syrup - yay! Ask to sit on patio or on bay side

In any other city, I’d rate this 4 stars, but I’m grading on a curve in this amazing food town. Pretty good cottage fries, mediocre cocktails, very good signature dessert, Apple Brown Betty. But why settle when amazing places at the same price point are ubiquitous here?

We just spent 4 nights in San Francisco. We ate here twice; first time, mainly because of location to the hotel. Second time because we enjoyed the first visit and because we were tired and it was close. I had a salad each time (cobb and chopped). Both were very good and super fresh which is always a plus at any restaurant. Tuesday was half price wine bottles. We didn't take advantage, but I would suggest you get there early if you want to find a seat. It's a great promotion for them.

We have been coming to the keys for 14 years, and The Perry Keywest has been one of our favorites! Some of the reviews I read prior to our visit had me a bit concerned, but coming from a long time visitor to the Keys, you'll regret NOT trying out this resort. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great views, many activities and restaurants available on property and close by, location and convenience to downtown by complimentary shuttle, great staff and customer service, and the list goes on!! Thank you Katrina from the front desk, Stevie and Lauren at the pool, and many others. You helped to make our stay one of the best ever in the Keys! We will definitely return to The Perry!

We were staying in the hotel this is attached to. We ate lunch and breakfast here. Both were really good food. Had a variety of options. This hotel offers good views if you make reservations. Good quality food with great atmosphere

Located right on San Francisco's Embarcadero, easily accessible from streetcars, or ferry. This was our first time here, noticed large indoor and outdoor seating, even though they were busy we got seated immediately. The server took our drink and food order, food is delivered in a timely manner, and very delicious. We commented to the server will dine here again.

Good bat for watching the Giants with other fans. Also had a great brunch there on Sunday. Friendly and efficient service.

A visit to San Francisco is not complete without a visit to the Embarcadero. You can feel the history of this wonderful city as you look out on the bay. While it's not a pure local San Francisco experience, Perry's restaurant on the Embarcadero is a great place to have a casual lunch with friends or family. There is enough variety on the menu to satisfy almost every palate and the pub provides a wide selection of beverages that will keep you fueled for your San Francisco adventure. The patio is a cool place to relax and recharge. Make your reservations early.

A very popular downtown bar, it gets busy initially with the after work crowd and them as they evening goes on Giants crowd before and after the game plus locals and tourist alike. The bar staff are very friendly and there seems to be a regular flow of local regulars which gives the place a great vibe.

My partner and I were walking the Embarcadero and we were hungry for breakfast / brunch ... On thanksgiving ... Nothing appeared to be open until we came across the delightful table and chairs outside of Perrys. We sat inside which was lovely and our waitress Elissa was prompt sat us down and served us water. Ellisa was a shining example of an excellent waitress. Took our order delivered it and we both thoroughly enjoyed the cheese and bacon omlette and bacon and scrambled eggs ....also choices of breads and served with breakfast potatoes delicious. I recommend this place heartily. Elissa trust when I say I have eaten in the most expensive restaurants all over the world and you my dear gave my partner and I top service.

Chose Perry's as it was right next door to our hotel the night we arrived. It was super busy-but we were able to sit at the bar for dinner. The bar tenders were friendly, attentive and truly fun to watch. Clearly skilled at their job-drinks were made and dinner orders taken seamlessly. Enjoyed some really good burgers and wine. Great place -good food

A great impossible burger and good service, but the sides were tasteless and the affogato dessert was a mess. Good location, pleasant atmosphere. But no urge to return with so many better nearby spots.

Here's a menu of traditional American classics that are well prepared and speedily delivered to your table. It's busy, loud with happy conversations and fun.

Had dinner here with family last week. We had a variety of foods from barbq ribs, lamb shanks, fish, and steak. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We had a delicious dessert, a brownie with ice cream, big enough to share, but you may not want to. I felt the mixed drinks were tasty but not the best. Overall we had a great time. Service and food was very good. We also had a great view of the Bay bridge, beautifully lit up with a light show. Would love to go back again and would definitely recommend.

We were staying at the adjoining hotel and booked this for our last night meal before travelling to the airport. It was half price wine Tuesday- result! gorgeous wine. Really popular place always packed and you need to book. Also the portions are huge- order one starter between 2 we can eat but we were seriously out faced! its a great place and full of locals which is always a great sign!!

Convenient to the hotel. Food was good, not fancy but solid. Busy and lively with table in and outside. Just want I was looking. French Onion soup was good (a bit creamy). Southwestern Chicken salad also good. Ribs were great.

I eat here a couple times a month when I am staying at the Griffon on business. The food is good and bar staff is excellent. It does get very busy and during happy hour the bar is more than full. One plus is that you can order room service at the Griffon and it comes from this onsite restaurant.

Good restaurant though a little cramped. Food was decent but if you can get a table outside on the Embarcadero side then you'll get a great view of the Bay and ferry building.

A friend and I met up here, and we needed a place where we wouldn't have to shout at each other! We had Happy Hour Gin and tonics, then calamari and then excellent salads. We sat right next to the Bay Bridge (in a manner of speaking). The wait staff were very helpful and friendly. I'd go again!

The food was good - but not outstanding. My husband had a seafood combo that had great shrimp in it, but the shrimp were not available by themselves. The table seemed a little small for 4 people, but the view was great and more than made up for it.

The food and coffee were delicious, and the service impeccable. Great ambiance and very reasonable pricing. I'll go back!

Wow. What a superb meal. And excellent service. I love a restaurant that has amazing food and amazing staff. All people committed to giving customers a superb experience.

Stopped in for a quick burger one evening. Excellent wedge salad and a burger. Atmosphere was light, especially near the bar.

I had the lamb shanks and they tasted bland and truly diner like. I was expecting more as all my other meals in San Francisco were so delicious and wonderfully prepared. I wouldn't come again for dinner but the drinks were good.

Nice location, conveniently located in the hotel where we were staying. Had a reservation and got seated immediately. The service was decent but the food was hideous. No joke, all four of us had bad dinners. Calamari was reheated frozen garbage. How do you ruin a cheeseburger? this place managed to do that. Cobb salad was so dry, had zero salad dressing. Lamb shank was apparently "ok". Really should have sent back all of our meals, starting with that calamari. It was so bad that we cancelled our brunch reservation for the next day and went elsewhere. The only positive was the bar seemed to be pretty fun. After that bad dinner we couldn't even hang out for a drink, had to go elsewhere. Skip this place, there are so many great restaurants within walking distance that no one should waste their time here.

My son who lives in San Fran selected his restaurant for us while visiting and he didn't steer us wrong. Make sure to have reservations. We arrived an hour early on a Thursday evening and they accommodated us and the place was packed already at 6 pm for good reason. Solid food selections and a helpful staff along with warm ambiance and a solid vibe. I had the meatloaf which rocked, son had fried chicken, and others also enjoyed their meals. Beer selection was good and everything was priced reasonably for San Fran standards. Highly encourage you to check it out.

Came in for dinner whilst staying at the Harbor Court next door. Took a long time to get seated even though it wasn't very busy. I got a seat outside which had a nice view of the Bay Bridge. Menu has good variety and the prices are modest for the location. I had Clam Chowder to start which was pretty nice followed by a rather boring and tasteless pot roast. The waitress was lovely but the bus boy was horrible and clearly hated his job. Also, I asked what the "Surchange Emp" on the receipt meant and the waitress said they'd been told it was to cover the staff's health insurance which they have to pay for anyway so that seems like a bit of a con!

Good service and good food. A go to standby on the Embarcadero (adjacent ) . The setting is great as you have water views and a variety of seating

Met up with 2 other couples from different parts of Calif. Requested a table by the window with a Bay Bridge view. Other couples didn't know about the Bay Bridge lighting up at night. They enjoyed the light show. Service is always good. Luckily we hit it on Tues night when it is half off all wines night! Very good wine list. Great location. Nice after dinner walk along The Embarcadero.

I joined some co-workers for dinner. We had a nice table looking over the bay. Food was great. It was great to see blue plate specials as well. I had the short rib - it was fantastic. Decent pricing for San Francisco too.

We came for happy hour drinks and enjoyed a nice big table in a lively setting. Our server was helpful and friendly and attentive. Drink prices are very reasonable. Popular spot, really hopping on a week night.

My family of four (2 adults, 2 early teenage kids) ate a dinner here that was fine. The food was perfectly fine, but nothing to write home about. We had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, a hamburger and some fried chicken. The biggest let-down was the completely uninterested server. I get that not everyone is psyched to service a family because there are often fewer drinks ordered, but we usually take less time to eat and offer good tips when service is good. We mentioned that we were there for my son's birthday, and received not so much as a smile or happy birthday in his direction. The rest of the service was a little slow, unsmiling and seemingly bored. When dining out, while the food of course matters, it's often the service that drives the experience. This one was decidedly "meh", and given the variety of dining options available, means that we don't have a reason to return any time soon.

Perry's has the best! Better than mom used to make, better than I make. Complemented by perfect mashed potatoes and The Best Green Beans. I don't usually like green beans, but these seemed to have just a slight butter-char, still crisp, but extra delicious.

we were there for saint patrick's day...a lot of fun and a crazy crowd...next morning we enjoyed a perfect breakfast...great staff!

Grabbed a quick meal at the bar while staying at a nearby hotel. Fried chicken was tasty, and it was a fun crowd.

Food is fine, handy location if staying nearby, though probably not worth going out of your way to visit.

Let me preface this with we have been to Perry's on Union Street several times over the years and have enjoyed it, but we have never been to this Perry's before. Went here after a walk down on the Embarcadero and wanted to sit outside. It was around 12, but we were lucky and got the last available table outside. It was a nice day, but they do have heat lamps. Immediately we were given crispy bread sticks with butter and strawberry jam. We ordered the California Benedict which is like an Eggs Benedict, but it has avocado, spinach and tomato with the poached eggs on English muffins. It was a large potion and quite good. Service was friendly and efficient on a busy day. We would go again.

We stopped by for lunch, breakfast, and drinks on our last trip to SF (so we were pretty happy with it). The food was good, and the staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. The patio has a nice view of the Embarcadero. The also have a nice brunch menu. We went the first time because the restaurant was attached to our hotel, and we liked it so much we came back several times to eat and for drinks during our stay in SF.

We’ve never had a bad meal at Perry’s. Sometimes the bar can get quite crowded and it may be a shorty wait for a drink. We met family for breakfast this trip and everyone loved their meal. My husband and I can highly recommend the California Benedict, with tomato, spinach and avocado instead of Canadian bacon.

We were staying a couple of doors along at the Harbor Court Hotel and the staff there recommended this place to us on our first night. It was very busy but we got a nice table with no wait. We both really enjoyed the food, though felt like the starter was more like a main meal due to the portion size. We had the quesadilla and mini cheeseburgers to start - both delicious and the fish and chips and chicken and biscuits for main course. Again, both very nice. If I was staying nearby again I would probably return.

I really liked this place and went twice during 4 days in the area. It’s unpretentious and the menu is mostly all-American comfort food (see potato skins pic attached!) The portions are very large which makes it a good deal for SF - a couple could split one appetizer and a salad and leave full. I ended up stuffed! The staff were also low key and pleasant. There is a large patio overlooking the Embarcadero but on a rainy night it was cozy inside. There is also a bar and a nice drink selection. The waiting area is the Hotel Griffon hotel lobby. Highly recommend if in the neighborhood, but only if you are looking for downtime - you might forget you are in SF unless you have a table with a view.

This is my second review, as for some reason the first one did not post. My opinion has not changed from my first review...this place is great! We stopped in for cocktails the first night and had dinner the second. Friendly staff and bar tenders. I had a perfect champagne cocktail both nights. The menu isn't huge, but what they feature is a little something for everyone. Our food was very good, the ambiance was nice...linen napkins, fresh flowers, dim lit lighting. Great location with two entrances. One steps away from the front door of the Harbor Court Hotel, and the other a little "European" style outdoor cafe on the Embarcadero. I would recommend this quiet little low-key establishment to anyone looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and dine in a quiet, dark, manly/old school kinda spot.

Wanted to grab quick breakfast with business colleague - staying at the hotel next door. Unfortunately - hostess/waitress acted as if she was working there as punishment. Rude and un-attentive - a lousy way for us to start the day. Forget any water or coffee refills etc. Perhaps she was having a bad day. At least the gentleman who brought our food out was positive and the food was decent once we finally got it. Other good choices for breakfast near by where you won't feel lousy after you eat there.

A very cool SF institution. Always friendly, good food, nice to sit out by the Embarcadero on a nice day and watch the world go by.

We stayed at the hotel adjacent to Perry's and I got the above-mentioned to go. Very courteous staff and a nice place to hang out for food & drinks.

Appetizers were very good but the entrées were disappointing especially the meatloaf. The outside area was a little dirty and greasy.

We ate at this restaurant twice during our 4 night stay, with excellent food at reasonable prices. It was conveniently located to our hotel (Harbor Court Hotel).

My husband and I had lunch with our friends before hitting the road. The front desk held our luggage while we ate. We ordered the artichoke appetizer which was nice. I had the Magnolia Salad with chicken and it was amazing! Husband had the Reuben which he ate all in one sitting. Brutus Cesar and Potato skins looked delicious too.

After going on-line and looking at their menu, I was looking forward to dining on locally caught crab cakes. Too bad, the on-line menu was not up-to-date and there were no crab cakes. After waiting for a brunch table on a Saturday, I ordered Eggs Benedict from a rather bland menu (a blast from the past). The food was on the cold side but had good flavor. The eggs were so undercooked that they were impossible to eat. Staff was overworked and I was overlooked.

The food tasted fairly good. I ate there a few times, one of the times the food was a bit lukewarm (breakfast potatoes). Not bad though

Wife and I always enjoy dining here and sitting outside on the Embarcadero and people watch. I had the pot roast with mash potatoes and veggies my wife had the petrale sole with lemon butter and capers and both dinners were soo delicious. My only pet peeve is the inexpensive metal chairs that you have to sit on. My buttocks was aching when we left.

Beautiful fall day, seated on the patio along the Embarcadero. Hard to go wrong from there. Service was pleasant and professional. The food was basic, fresh and well prepared. I would definitely recommend for an afternoon lunch in SF.

Love this place. It’s a local pub feel with americana food. The service is impeccable and the prices are fair.

We were staying at the Hotel Griffon. It was Valentine's Day. We couldn't get a reservation anywhere. But, thinking the little restaurant in the hotel, Perry's, would not be busy, decided to eat there. We weren't expecting much. Well wrong on two counts. First they were very busy - they squeezed us in at 4:30pm as we were guests at the hotel. The next opening was 10:30pm! The service was wonderful. And the food was wonderful - salads with moist chicken breast added, great ribs, the best clam chowder any of us has had outside of Boston and for dessert we all had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies with delicious vanilla ice cream (it had real vanilla flavor!). And reasonably priced. There is outdoor seating - so on warm days/evening the views of the bay and Bay Bridge would add to an already great experience.

The steak salad at Perry's was excellent and the mojito was good. Service was ok, but not great. The location is great next to the ocean front and seating was easy.

Your choice: Outside with one of the most dramatic views of San Francisco or inside a dark "clubby" feel inside (actually inside is my favorite. Either way, you know you have discovered a real gem of a restaurant. Perfect location, reasonable prices, and large portions. Returned back 3 different times on a one-week vacation in San Francisco

Perry's is always a happening place...fun, excellent drinks and beer and terrific place for dinner with friends or family.

If you are going to an event at the Comstock Club, thus restaurant us an excellent choice! We had breakfast here. Though it is a small menu, the food was excellent! The corned beef hash and poached eggs was compromised of large chunck of lean corned beef and not overloaded with potato as some restaurants do. My wife had the Monterey Scramble; vegetarian with fresh shitaki mushrooms. Creamy cappuccinos rounded the meal out. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked good! Service was friendly and polite, but a bit slow.vthe good food made up for it though. They slsi had a full bar if you are so inclined. We highly recommend the breakfast here!

Perry’s does a nice job with its styling, staff, menu and drinks but I’m going to fractionally vote in favour of Union St over Embarcadero: Staff a little more on point Easier to get into But the food is full of the same good stuff....

After going to the Ferry Building Farmers market, took our son to this Perry's. I've been to the one on Union St. in the 80's. The food is very good, and this location is great for visitors in our view. Love that we can have our small dog at each dining location, here, Union St. and in Larkspur in Marin. THE best wedge salad and why I order every time. A fun vibe at their bars and nice outdoor dining/local views in each of their restaurant locations. They try hard and open to feedback, but we find the service very good.

We came here after an event at Epic with a couple of friends to enjoy some food, wine and company. We sat outside, ordered appetizers and asked for the wine we brought to be served. After eating appetizers, we ordered additional food and 2 extra glasses of wine (for 2 of the 4 guests). None of us were overly intoxicated. There were no spills, no falls, no obnoxious behavior. Yet when the other 2 of us requested 2 glasses of wine, we were told the restaurant was closing. No problem! Can we have 2 glasses to take up to our room? No. The bar is closing. Can't we bring it to our room? No. We will not serve your table any more alcohol. Seriously? There were 4 of us - who split ONE bottle of wine. 2 received one extra glass. That would be 7 glasses of wine between 4 people. Not even 2 glasses per person. Plus we ate food - 3 appetizers and 2 mains between the 4 of us. We were appalled. We come from wine country where people go wine tasting to 5-6 wineries per day. They end up drinking a minimum of 3 glasses and not even eating anything. And just FYI - the bar was closing. However 2 hours later, I witnessed the bartender provide a bottle of beer to a guest who requested to take it up to her room.

I go out to eat quite a bit and normally chalk up bad service as someone just having a bad day, but todays' experience was just downright awful. To Margie's credit, she was the only bartender at a busy bar, but she just needs a brush up on customer service 101. I ordered a beer and with tax the total was $6.67 and I paid cash with a $20 bill. She proceeds to just hand back $13 - NO big deal since I was going to leave $2.33. Order a second beer, same thing - leave another $2.33. Not once did she acknowledge the tip or even say something as simple as THANK YOU! The guest next to me asked for a menu twice and then gave up and just went to the hostess and asked for one. I have been here a bunch of times before, but will walk out if I see her at the bar again.

A small but delicate menu! Situated in Griffon hotel this restaurant is very busy with locals. Serve good steaks and fish at reasonable prices. Special offers depending on day of the week

We started at a high top in the bar then moved to a bar table when more family arrived with ease and helpfulness of staff. At dinner on a separate night and enjoyed food very much.

We were on a late flight into town and checked in to Hotel Griffon. The plane ran out of food, we hadn’t had dinner, and we wanted something quick. Perry’s was still open and had room at the bar, so we grabbed a seat. Bartender was a typical bartender sort, but I think he recognized how hungry we were and pushed the order through very quickly. My chicken quesadilla and his in-house chips hit the spot. Local beer on tap served to make the experience a perfect first-night save. Well done.

One of the few places in the financial district were you get excellent food in the later evening. Classical American food, taste like home made. One evening per week the serve a lobster dinner a fair price which I really can recommend. Meat ball pasta with slightly spicy tomato sauce was great too. Very friendly staff!

I had made a reservation for dinner at Perry's before going to a concert at the Chase Center. I discovered that the concert was starting 30 minutes earlier than I thought, so we arrived earlier than our scheduled reservation time. Fortunately, the hostess saw that our assigned table was open and we were seated immediately. The menu includes many options that I'd consider comfort foods. One of the rotating daily specials was fried chicken, which two of our party ordered. It was a panko crust, instead of a typical southern fried batter coating. Apparently it was very good, as all that was left at the end was a pile of bones. I had a delicious lamb shank, served with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Our fourth diner had a well prepared steak. The restaurant has an outdoor patio that looks like it would be good for a brunch or lunch dining.

We were staying about 1/2 mile away so we walked to restaurant which is in hotel griffin a small boutique hotel that looks like upper floors overlook bay. It’s a dark small cozy restaurant with friendly staff. The room looking at bay was closed for a private event so we sat up front by bar. We went for the eggs Benedict and it was only ok but we ate very picky about hollandise sauce . The hash different and hearty but too much food for me. Price was ok with coffee and two breakfasts 37.00 without tip. I liked the location and feel of restaurant and hotel and staff I would go back and have French toast

I am always on the lookout for good clam chowder with a view. Perry's patio has both. A glass of house rose completed my great lunch
We went for lunch with two friends we hadn't seen in years. It was on a Thursday at 1:45 pm, so it was past any sort of lunch rush hour -- there were plenty available tables. But our waiter couldn't get us out of there fast enough, despite the fact that we wanted to sit, talk, and catch up. Rushed us at a number of different parts of the meal, and acted like he was doing us a favor. Food was actually pretty good bar food. In particular the steak sandwich was excellent. Overall ambience was pretty nice -- a good space, not crowded or noisy.

My husband and I enjoyed breakfast at Perry's, a cute little restaurant in the Hotel Griffin. Pleasant service, clean, and a great location, right on the Embarcadero, and a few steps away from the Ferry Building. Menu is not huge, but eggs are well prepared, home fries are made fresh with peppers. Coffee is pretty good, too.

Excellent breakfast and service. San Francisco prices but very good. Pretty much standard breakfast cuisine. Would definitely return.

Busy atmosphere without being crowded. Good food and service. A solid lunch choice. Nice location with a small view out to the bay.

Like this place, eat here most weeks. Food is decent and not overpriced. Ask for Mary, she's the best.

We stayed at the hotel where Perry's is located, and every time we passed by it was really busy. Nice breakfast, good lunch - never did get to try dinner, but the menu looked good. Also a nice bar.

Very good service and Food. We ate there twice in 3 nights stay. Excellent Burgers, Steak and Fish and Chips. Large portions. Our server who I have forgotten his name !!! was excellent and very friendly. The restaurant will know him because we ate at another restaurant in SF (Sears) where as it happens his girlfriend works. Small world. You can sit outside with a great view of Bay Bridge.
desultory service, bad drinks, lousy food. Totally overpriced
We visited this establishment on April 30, 2002, expecting a good and pleasant dinner. The person who seated us was friendly enough, but it was all downhill from there. We waited a good while for our server, although we were brought water in the meantime. We ordered a glass of chardonnay and a gin & tonic. The chardonnay was very poor, and the G & T was very small and very light on the gin. My wife ordered French onion soup and a "Caesar salad"; I ordered sole meunière. She asked if the salad came with bread...the server said no, but he could add a side. The food came very quickly--microwave quickly it seemed, and was entirely unsatisfactory. The onion soup was ok, but the bread consisted of two small, tasteless rolls of some kind--this is San Francisco mind you, famous for great sourdough bread! The "Caesar salad" was a huge pile of bagged romaine with lots of croutons, and a bit of flavorless dressing. The "sole meunière" was dry, thin, and cold, and unappetizing--laid upon a big blob of mashed potatoes. The best part of the meal was the four or five little slices of zucchini I found under the fish. This was not a cheap meal! About $90 with tip. Just highly disappointing! Anyway, the title of this review says it all. I will avoid this restaurant in the future, and I recommend you do the same!
