Steaks Good Always; Friday Pork Chops Awesome

By Darla G |

This is a classy joint that has great appetizers, steaks and other entrees. Parking can be a Problem. You may want to plan to valet. The Seafood Tower, Lobster Bisque, salads, asparagus and pork chops are all excellent. The service is usually friendly and attentive. Never had a bad experience here. Business casual in the dining room. Shorts are ok in the bar area.

Top Steak Resstaurant!!

By Rockdoc7 |

This restaurant has great atmosphere and service. The food is always good. A great place for a business lunch I went with several business associates. We all had the Chateaubriand ..from medium to medium rare to in between ...and all were cooked to perfection. The wedge sald was also well prepared. Very nice wine selection as we had a Kings Estate Pinot Noir and a Roger Strong Pinot Noir..A very nice relaxing lunch that lasted 2 1/2 hours with superb service and no rush. Will definitely come back

Love the Steaks here!

By Patti M |

I had one of the private dining rooms and it was very nice. The atmosphere was great. The steak was wonderful and cooked as ordered. I heard the pork chop is amazing but will go on a Friday when it is on special.

Friday lunch

By TammyA0815 |

Highly recommend Perry’s for lunch on Fridays. Special on Fridays is the pork chops. It’s a must try! One serving is big enough to share for 2. Caesar salad is excellent. Not overly impressed with wait staff since they took our drinks, food to a different table each time we were served. Had to ask for refills which took longer then normal. Maybe the waitress was new but she only had 4 tables outside. Service overlooked because the food was excellent. We will be back!

This place has many tasty

By Sorrell8615 |

This place has many tasty item pork bites app tried was a little dry rib eye steak entree was very good just a little sinewy not to be expected in a restaurant of this caliber. They had no porterhouse which was a strange thing to me for a Restuarant IN Texas. Over all it was a solid 4. Great sides corn and fries. Salad was too over dressed for me service is good.

Very nice place

By William S |

Went to the Memorial location for a business lunch today. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops. Wow, they were very good. Great flavor and presentation. I had the 12-oz. filet along with the double cut slab bacon. Both were very good. My guest had the Symphony Kabob. It is really cool the way they serve it. It tasted very good. For sides we had the roasted sherried mushrooms, sweet sriracha Brussels sprouts and the mac and cheese. All were very good. Needless to say we have to take a lot of it to go because we could not eat it all. All in all it is a very nice place. Will definitely be going back!

Impress Clients

By Bison405 |

If you have major out-of-town clients you want to impress, this is a good place to take them, but you need a generous expense account. It's a bit expensive, but you do get outstanding food and good service. If you are hoping your clients will miss some details of your proposals, this is ideal. It's noisy enough they won't hear your "fine print" but not too loud for conversation. When pool players make a fantastically lucky shot they just chalk their cue and give you an of-course-I-made-that-shot look. You can do the same if you get your out-of-state clients to order Perry's famous pork chop. When they deliver it and it is a small roast with four rib bones, standing about 5 inches thick, you just act casual and explain, "Of course it's the biggest pork chop you've ever seen, this is Texas!" This tactic is not recommended for Jewish or Muslim clients. Get them to order a steak. It will put a smile on their faces for hours and make them even less likely to catch any "fine print" in your sales pitch. Excellent wine choices will help too. You're going to make that sale!

Excellent business dinner

By RyanIsTall |

This place is exceptional! I had the 10 oz. filet topped with crab meat. My old fashioned was perfect. The wedge salad was awesome!

Unbelievable pork chop

By Red Davis |

This was my first visit to Perry's and took some clients out for lunch. They were from the area and were telling me about the port chop special and how great it was. They were right on the money. The Pork chop is HUGE and cooked perfectly. It is carved table side and severed with a piping hot mashed potatoes and green veggie. The service was very good. This is not a quick "in and out" lunch spot. Take your time an enjoy.

Wish Perry’s was closer

By AshburnhamLife |

Perry’s was fantastic! Even though it is a steakhouse, I had read that there were known for their pork chops. It was the biggest and juiciest chop I have ever had. When it was delivered the server carved it while telling me what each section was. Great presentation. The service was impressive. The only thing bad about the experience is that I live in New England and that aren’t any Perry locations for thousands of miles!

Can't Believe How Good it Is

By Raymond L |

Their Signature Dish is the 5 Fingered Grilled Pork Chop. Marinated for several days and slow grilled. YOU CAN CUT IT WITH A FORK and definitely is something to try but their Steaks are some of the Finest in this City or any other for that Matter. For a Quick lunch or late night snack, try the Kobi Beef Burger. Expensive Hamburger yes but Oh So Good. You only live once so try it once, after all it's the Holidays so treat yourself and your Sweetie.

Perry Good

By Reviews |

Food was amazing, service was great too although they had a little blunder but made up for it ten fold - This is a quality establishment and put the customers first all the time..

Fortunately on other expensive account

By Mario G |

Trying to convince others about the best steak I think is stupid. The ultimate word comes from the cow. In Perry's case the cost is simply extreme. Almost $50 for a piece of meat and adding extras from anything lettuce and above appears unnatural. Judging the product served...Good, but do not know if would risk my freedom to eat that value-amount plate. And not considering the cost of wines. Again, if you are in an expense account this is a great place as there are many others.

Great food

By FrankPiccy |

Perry' s is Perry's, food, wine and service are at hight quality but prices are hight too. Anyway, I spent a wonderful evening and I strongly suggest you to visit it

Prime Steaks???

By 856carlag |

In my opinion the ribeye and New York Strip steaks that my husband and I had weren't quality prime. Meat was tough (cooked medium-rare). The carparccio was delish! Wedge salad was just okay. With 2 martinis, 2 sides and a bottle of wine, the cost was $215 before tip. Will not be returning to this location.

Great food

By 56003Richard |

Never had a bad meal here. Great meats and good service. Lunch is also a great time to visit. Highly recommended

Business Dinner

By vac1017 |

The food was excellent and the service outstanding. This is not a spot for your average dinner as the menu prices are on the upscale side, but for a special occasion it may be a good choice. Since it was raining heavily the valet parking was a nice option. The only drawback for me was that it was somewhat noisy. Although I love jazz piano it was a little loud in general making it difficult to converse.

Great Holiday Party at Perry's

By Jeffrey B |

We held our Holiday Party at Perry's Memorial City in the Sky Tower Room this last Saturday - The Company group was 40 employees and everyone enjoyed the meal and service. We really liked being in our own room upstairs so we could give out gifts and speak to the entire group without worrying about being too loud for other patrons. Really elegant atmosphere and the pricing was very reasonable. Parking was a small issue for some but Valet is only $4 and they can add it to the group bill if you want. To the staff we were really impressed with all employees we came in contact with "A First Class Group" - thanks for helping out and making this an excellent worry free event.

OMG, that pork chop!!!

By houstontravelingfool |

My girlfriend and I went there to celebrate my birthday, specifically for Pork Chop Friday lunch. Almost every table we passed when being seated had pork chops on it. This was my first time and it definitely won't be my last. Because the chop's so big, we split one and still had leftovers to take home. It was served with whipped potatoes and applesauce. The pork chop was FABULOUS - so tender and perfectly seasoned. A white chocolate cheesecake was offered (complimentary) for my birthday and it, too, was fantastic. Couldn't have been a better celebration. Definitely give it a try.

Great steak!

By Sam K |

Joined our friends to celebrate her birthday. The drinks, spinach salad and filet were all perfect! Highly recommend it!

Very good business dinner

By Kelly C |

Almost everything was exceptional. Service, surroundings, and most of the food. The one knock is on the "famous" pork chop. It was dry, and not particularly tender. Fortunately that was the only disappointment as the appetizers, sides, and my colleagues steaks and seafood were outstanding. The wine selection even impressed one of our group from Spain looking for an obscure Spanish label. As others have said - the place to impress clients.

Oh man

By untameable |

I can not stress how much of of foodie I am. This place is amazing. We went during restaurant week last summer. The atmosphere, our waiter, and the manager were very nice. The only problem I encountered was my Steak was WAY to salty. I explained to the manager that is was hard to eat due to the taste and he offered to have another one made for me. I declined seeing how my partner was half way through hers. The dessert preparation made up my lacking dinner.

Great food

By Michelle F |

And great service. The best place around west Houston. We had delicious filet mignon. Perfectly done. Also their fried asparagus are to die for. And do t skip their cocktails i had the mango fizz and it was refreshing and lively.

Always a delightful place to eat at...NO cheap

By bryanmantezoni |

We love to come to this steak house although it is expensive, the quality of the food and the customer service are superb. I highly recommend this place or the one in woodlands, you will not be disappointed.

Classy, Superb!

By 9mmglock |

Excellent service, superb menu, outrageously delicious desserts. Wine pairings & Valet Parking. Try the Surf & Turf delicious and amazing presentation!

Best piano player in bar

By TheaTX |

Came in here for an after dinner drink and to listen to the piano. The piano player was fantastic and I really love my drinks especially the choice of a flight of martinis

Wonderful Birthday Party

By TeamTexas2013 |

My father-in-law was turning 80 and we wanted to throw a nice party and we chose to come to Perry's. It was exactly what we wanted, great staff and food for the 35 family members in attendance. I would definitely have Perry's host another event when needed.

Excellent Food and Superior Service!

By flalove2travel |

Perry's was off to a good start with the courteous valet, who promptly took our car and opened the door. They use an app for the valet so you can request your car before you get outside. This worked very well. The hostesses were all pleasant and seated us immediately. We had made a reservation and requested a booth, and were seated at a nice booth. A booth is recommended, since the middle area with tables seems a little congested. The waiter immediately acknowledged us, and said he'd be by shortly. Service throughout the meal was excellent. We ordered appetizers and did not order entrees until after we had finished the appetizers. This worked out well, and the waiter never rushed us at all. The background music was very nice throughout the meal. The bread arrived hot. The frenh onion soup and shrimp cocktail were both very good. The pork chop was delicious and carved tableside, with the waiter providing an explanation as to the parts. The filet was seasoned nicely and cooked to perfection, and the sides of corn and the seasoned fries were hot and tasty. The desserts of bananas foster and nutty d'angelo were absolutely amazing!!!! Save room for dessert during your visit. This location is highly recommended!

Wonderful food

Great food, great ambiance, great staff. Steak to die for. Pork chop and escargot out of this world. Not cheap but worth the treat.

Still Outstanding

By Ron W |

We haven’t been here for quite sometime (Just life getting in the way, not Perry’s fault) and for recent Medical reasons haven’t been able to have a steak for about 6 months.. We had an early Dinner reservation and were the first patrons there..Since we were a little early, we asked the hostess if she would take a picture; which she did expertly. She seated us and checked our coats..a very pleasant young lady.. Our Server (McKensie) took our drink orders.. She suggested a wine after finding out what wine my wife liked(Pinor Noir). I ordered an Old Fashioned to start. Then I ordered the same wine with the meal. McKensie was a very personable, pleasant, knowledagable Server. We like to “pick” and have fun with our servers..and McKensie seemed to enjoy it. She made the whole experience even better! James (Gen. Mgr) and floor Mgr both dropped by to check on us, whidh is always a nice touch. We had the Bone in Ribeye ; Wife’s Well-Done, mine Medium Well..Both were outstanding. We had the AuGratin potatoes and Brocolli for sides. The whole meal was up to Perry’s standards. McKensie “talked” us into deserts(to go). It was nice to be able to get dressed up and go out and enjoy a great Steak, great drinks and enjoy outstanding and above great service!

Not Worth the money

By rick r |

Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Memorial City This was our first time ever visiting Perry's. 1) All the employees wear black uniforms from the hostesses to the waitstaff, I thought I was at a funnel. 2) The restaurant and our table lighting was so dim the waitstaff had to use their phone for lighting, the lights kept dimming on and off. 3) We were served white plates that were laced with water, not dry like they are suppose to be, and to top it off the plates had yellow food stains on them...how nasty. 4) I order the famous Pecan-Smoked Caramelized Prime Rib 16 oz., what a disappointment for $60, the steak was small covered with so much stuff on top, and so much fat, I had to cut away the fat and was left with a with probably a 10 steak. I was burping the after taste of the steak all night. 5) The famous pork chop was great though. 6) Total bill for two people, two entrees, two sides each person, one water and one mix drink and one dessert $230, plus the $40 tip = $270. Perry needs to do better.

Watch out for aggressive billing and check your charges.

By easy |

We were there with a group from work. I asked for a specific wine order and ordered wine to start and and different wine for dinner. The wines were brought out all together, not as requested. We were charged a 20% tip on top of a 3% service charge and tax, separate from the food charge. That is not appropriate. Be careful with your review of the charges. Based on the reviews, you would think that this was an outstanding restaurant. It is just average.

Unforgettable

By Talikat |

Celebrated our anniversary here, and the food was some of the best we've ever had! Chris and Angel assisted in making our dinner an absolutely memorable experience with their impeccable service and incredible suggestions. The pork chop, sea bass, crab cakes, and tuna are definitely worth mentioning! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Terrific Steaks and wonderful ambiance

By Wayne H |

It is steakhouse and they are great. The pork chops are incredible and huge, Each dish is tasty and service is excellent!

Pretty Darn Good

By metntex |

There was about 20 of us here for a business dinner. I was leery of the set menu where we had a choice of four entrees, but these guys nailed it. The filet was very tender and the pork chop or should I say the pork plate was killer. The sides were good and the dessert tray was excellent. Would I go back to? Yes.

Valentines Dinner

By PeterN |

Went out on an evening that we don't normally due to the high volume of customers all doing the same. Had the fixed Valentines menu which was very good as far as portions, quality and flavor. Unfortunately due to the fact they were totally full and our reservation was for 6pm there was a small delay in being seated and then several delays between courses. Fortunately time was on our hands anyway and it didn't spoil the night. The plentiful dessert (white chocolate cheesecake) is just totally wrong !!!you just cannot leave any it was absolutely delicious.

Great experience

By Charles V |

an old favorite revisited. Service is excellent, the pork chop should be ordered you really will not believe this is a chop. A houston tradition

Poor quality cut, disappointing service

By James L |

This restaurant was recommended to me by a colleague whist solo on a business trip. I was disappointed to see that all sides advertised on the menu are double portions - I queried with the server if they could do a single portion but was told that wasn’t possible - no attempt was made to check this with the kitchen. I ordered a prime New York strip steak with (a double portion of) truffle fries. The cut of the meat was terrible - more like a cheap, badly butchered, uneven rib-end sirloin, not the prime New York strip that was advertised. It was also horrendously over-seasoned, even by American standards. The server did check in during the meal to see if I was happy - I expressed that I was underwhelmed, however she seemed disinterested and after which proceeded to coax me out of the restaurant as quickly as possible, not even giving me the option of desert. While by no means a disastrous meal, the menu setup, quality of the food and the service fell far short of the hefty price tag. Perhaps the all time worst $120 I’ve ever spent on dinner for one, if not, certainly top five.

Lovely Dinner

By D D |

We were looking for a place to go have a nice Pork Chop before leaving for Singapore . We chose your tried and true resturant . Although the service was a bit off your normal top quality , the food more than made up for it . Our waiter may have been training a new person , but often left our table before finishing taking our orders and would excuse himself and leave us without much explanation.. The Pork Chop was enough for 3 people and we savored every outstanding part of it . We enjoyed our wine and also the seafood kabob. The seafood was cold upon arrival , but was heated again and represented on a plate verse hanging . I was told it was very good though. We finished off the evening with Coffees and were very satisfied upon departure .

Great Steak and service

By Sabbours |

Highly recommended, their steak and starters are great; portions are decent; chateau Briant steak is awesome. Excellent service and hospitality

Excellent

By SDDC11 |

Ate here for our anniversary dinner before a night on the town. I recommend the valet parking, it's only $4. It's a little pricey... $47 for a steak with no sides. But I will say it is very, very good. The service is excellent as well. The only thing I didn't care for was the noise level. I expected a quieter environment but there is a lot of chatter since there are so many tables inside.

Wonderful Pork Chop

By MaltaBound |

Once more, I go to this steakhouse and order the pork chop. If is thick, and easily serves two people. And, it is on special on Friday as a lunch deal. Plenty of parking in the mall lot, or valet. Pricey drinks though.

Wonderful place. Food, cocktails

By Linda R |

Wonderful place. Food, cocktails and service were wonderful. Our waitress (Adrienne) was great. She was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. And, the staff that help bring out the main course gave a scrumptious description of the pork chops we ordered, telling us what part to try first and why. Get the Caesar salad and the pork chops. Definitely a place to try. Pricey but worth it.

Good service and delicious Pork Chop

By Juliana M |

I went there for lunch with my friends. A good option is the Pork Chop on Fridays. I suggest making a reservation because it is a busy restaurant. Good service and atmosphere.

Outstandingly delicious Pork Chops

By Nikki |

The most amazing pork chop ever! The servers even indicate how it should be eaten! Fabulous, attentive service, restaurant smart, white linen tablecloths, highly recommend a visit.

Unfortunate experience at a usually great restaurant

By Don T |

We have been to another Perry's in the city, and had outstanding food and service. Remembering that, we took friends out for their 35th anniversary at this location. Our reservation was at 5:30, which should have been plenty of time to get to a movie less than a mile away by 7:40. We were seated and served drinks in a timely manner. We ordered from the Restaurant Weeks menu, a pre-fix three course meal. Bread arrived, and we waited, and waited and waited. Two managers came by the table. We told them about needing to be out by 7:15. They assured me it wouldn't be a problem. Our salads came after 40 minutes. Again, we were asked if we wanted more bread. It never arrived. By 7, we were worrying. So, my husband went searching for the manager. At that point, he came to the table and apologized. Within a few minutes, we had our entree and a waitress from another table came over and scattered rose petals on the table. Trying to scarf down a huge pork chop meal in 10 minutes was not enjoyable. The dessert had to be boxed to go. Our meal was compted by half, and we were given vouchers for a meal on Sunday night from 4-7. It did help, but this was a special event that cannot be re-done. I plan to try them again because our past experience with another Perry's was so good, I hope this was just an unfortunate mishap.

Outstanding!!

By DPJohnson |

A great place to have a 5-star meal with a group. The escargot is the best I've ever had. Fresh crusty bread! Yum!! The wine selection is very good. I really enjoyed lamb chops. Perry's service is outstanding as well. I would highly suggest this restaurant.

Excellent Grille

By Habelko |

Great menu. The pork chop signature dish was very good. Wine list good as was the service. Atmosphere very cosmopolitan. We'll be back.

Top notch classic casual dining

By Dan J |

As always Perry's didn't disappoint, their prix fixe menu was varied and spot on. Thanks to great service & staff our dinner with my grandson and his girlfriend was superb.

Bad experience - unfortunately

By John H. |

Normally, I have liked dining at Perry's Steakhouse. Their restaurants in the Woodands, and in Sugar Land have always provided excellent food and service and if something wasn't right, it was always handled promptly, and appropriately. My visit this evening however was a bad experience. My wife and I ordered a 12oz filet, medium rare with potatoes and creamed spinach - normally a very safe bet. My wife's steak came cooked perfectly, however mine was delivered seared on the outside but raw on the inside. Noticing the difference, the waiter took my steak back to the kitchen to be grilled for a few more minutes. 20 minutes later, the manager of the restaurant brought my filet back to the table cooked well done - to a crisp! I could barely cut into it,. I simply showed it to the manager and asked him how he would rate this - he said "medium well". Once again, an apology and the promise that another steak would be prepared. About 15 minutes later, another steak was delivered. I cut into it in front of the manager- again completely raw on the inside - showed it to the manager and asked him his opinion. He agreed that it was not right and took it back for a third time. I have rarely sent a steak back once, much less three times. By the time my steak was finally delivered medium rare - it was over 30 minutes since my wife had received her steak. She had long finished her meal by then. No apology was made, no accommodation was offered. I paid the bill in full with a reasonable gratuity for the waiter, who did what he could to provide service, but I won't return to Perry's in Memorial City. I would suggest to readers that they try nearby Vallones, or better yet, go to Pappa's Steakhouse where you will never pay for a bad experience.

Could be even better

By Caroline and Ji... V |

Atmosphere. 5+ super classy Wait staff. 5+ phenomenal Menu for Happy Hour. 5+ bargain!! Prices. High on regular menu ($40 gets a steak. Period) Salads 3. (don't expect much on your $12 salad...must beg for veggies) No steak on salad. I would return with a friend who buys or a non-maxed credit card.

Exquisite dinner!

By Grebert |

Went with some friends for a good meal, and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and service, allthough a bit «over-performing» water server. We had filet mignon and Prime ribeye, all cooked to perfection. The ahi tuna tartar I had for starter was also just 1st class. Prices are on the high side, but we got a high value meal in a relative quiet atmosphere making it great for conversation without having to yell. Also easy parking, valet offered. Absolutely recommendable.

Good but ought to be better

By butchAlabama |

We went at lunch and the place was so loud with diners’ conversation it was just too hard on the ears! Our waitress, Gladis, had to bend over in your face to hear an order. She did a great job. The asparagus was not quite on its game, and the wedge salad had very little dressing. The pork chop was tasty, but a tad dry. The dessert, Deconstructed Lemon Merange, was jusy OK, But lacked panache. We would go again, but reluctantly.

Way too loud

By AUSAGUY007 |

So loud at the bar can even hear yourself Ordered the salad and oysters on the half shell Got the filet with a side of cream corn I think it's over priced for what it was. See pictures attached

Drinks

By FrequentFlier629659 |

Drinks were horrible, there was more filler in the drinks than the alcohol. Spoke to the manager James Oliver and he did not have any comments or solutions to the problem. Drinks are over priced.

A Great Place

By HoustonFoodAndWine |

Five of my friends and I enjoyed a casual lunch here and we thoroughly enjoyed it; quality food and service all inside of a beautiful restaurant. Will dine here again.

Very Nice place!

By Winskey ;) |

My husband and I went for our anniversary and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Everything was very nice and the food was delicious! We loved the Mac and cheese!!! It’s on the pricey side but you definitely get what you pay for.

Nice business lunch

By HalloHello |

The food is always good. I enjoy the lunch salads and the tomato basil pasta. The servers are great at working around business meetings. I just wouldn't go for a business lunch on Friday, since that is their pork chop special day and it is really crowded.

Not worth the price.

By Maegen Smith |

Not really a fan of Perry’s. Food is definitely not worth the price. Steak isn’t that good but the drinks are great. This is just not a good place to have a Texas Steak.

Must have the pork chop!!

By Arkansastraveler74 |

Perry’s is such a great place! Shrimp cocktail to start with, Caesar salad is amazing! Pork chop for main course... it is so good. Note: it is big enough to split! Can’t wait to go back.. only thing to keep in mind is parking isn’t convenient but valet parking is available for $4.00...

Perry's is great, but Miles made it memorable

By mymexicaneyes |

Our 2nd anniversary luncheon.....Miles, our server, made us feel like newlyweds! Waited on us as if we were the only clients in the whole restaurant! The Prime Hawaiian Ribeye was grilled to perfection. My Jumbo Lump crab cakes were crisp and filled with JUMBO pieces of crab! We split the Caesar salad and I had a glass of the house Chardonnay Hess. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent image taken of us to remember this occasion by! We'll return every time we have a special occasion and always ask for Miles

I Want to Rate a 2

By KendraTravels |

The only reason I didn't rate a 2 is because the steak was pretty good. But let me back up. My son & I had a reservation. When we arrived, they were behind and we had to wait 30 minutes. We finally sat and ordered food. We started with calamari. It took forever for it to come out. It had good flavor and the addition of the banana peppers was great. However, it didn't seem that the oil was hot enough because the calamari wasn't as crispy as it should have been and there was oil just hanging out on the plate. Then it was the waiting game. I ordered another drink, it took 20 minute. It took nearly 35 minutes for our main courses to come out. I had the filet topped with crab and it was good. I was disappointed in the asparagus. The Brussels sprouts were excellent. For the amount of money that I paid for the meals, the service was terrible. I just can't reconcile spending that amount of money for such poor service. I don't think I'll go back to Perry's.

Family Lunch

By Dennis H |

We met our cousin from Houston at Perry's at his recommendation. It was a good one! Convenient location, upscale decor and great food! We all ordered the Pork Chop Lunch Special and were not disappointed. The triple pork chop was accompanied by mashed potatoes, we ordered salads as well. The meat was tasty, well cooked and with great presentation - all at a reasonable price. This would be a great place for a business lunch/dinner or even a date night.

Pork Chop is on point

By James |

The pork chop is amazing. The lunch special is excellent value particularly on Friday with almost half price. The small lunch size pork chop is all I could eat ... tender, flavorful. Service was good, fast turn around, nice atmosphere. Definitely a place to impress a date or a client.

Birthday dinner with family

By v4510 |

Had heard this was a good steak house. Came in with expectation of a steak. Got the pork chop. Which is sooo much more. Could not believe this could be cooked well. I was wrong. Tender tasty, well done. My daughter gad the bacon wrapped scallops. She was very pleased. My sister had a veggie plate which was envious. Each of us has the creme brulee for deserts. Thank you to our server Andrew. His suggestions were appreciated and excepted. Thank you to Derek for the illuminating assist.

Fabulous Traditional Steakhouse- Wow!

By momsuptoolate |

Our group of 7 had a great experience- 5 ordered a filet and were happy, 1 ordered the amazing porkchop and it was incredible, and 1 ordered the Symphony- amazing presentation of tenderloin, shrimp and lobster! All the sides were superb- creamed corn, truffled fries, potatoes as gratin, creamed spinach...the desserts were totally over the top! I had to restrain myself, and order something "simple"- Bananas Foster!

The best pork chop ever / la mejor chuleta de puerco

By Ruz |

He probado muchas chuletas ahumadas y cocinadas por horas pero está en particular tiene una suavidad y jugosa que el puré de manzana se quedó intacto en la mesa, vale la pena probarla. I’ve tried many times smoked pork chops who was cooked for manny hours but this one in particular is so tender and juicy at the same time. the apple sauce stayed in the table just like the waitress leave it , not necessary

Why I had to eat fast food on Mother's Day...

By M Houston |

We made a reservation for 12:15 p.m. on Mother's Day, and were quite pleased when we were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation. By 12:40 or so, we had ordered our food, and the salads were delivered promptly. However, we did not see our waiter again, other than to place steak knives on our table. At 1:45 p.m., we decided to leave, as NONE of our entrees been delivered to our table after WAITING an HOUR! While I understand that Mother's Day is busy, the failure of ANY staff member to communicate to us that the kitchen was slow or backed-up is NOT acceptable. IF there is an issue, the waiter should notify the manager, make sure drinks are filled, bring a free appetizer or at least some bread, communicate with your patrons that there is an issue...ANYTHING beside let guests sit unattended for an hour. Sadly, we had been looking at booking a large event of 75 people at this location, which I will not further consider...nor will I be back. The meal for our party of 3 would have been in the $200 range, and certainly better service is expected. After we asked to speak with a manager, he was gracious, but after an hour of being ignored, it was too little too late. If you choose to dine here, choose a night where the kitchen is slow - it is obvious they cannot handle a crowd.

Amazing Pork Chops

By John M |

This was in January 2014. Colleagues in Houston told me about Perry's and the amazing lunch time offer on a Friday for the famous Pork Chop. We were there before Noon on the Friday and the place was already packed out. There was a great atmosphere and I could not wait to try the Pork Chop. Wow!!! I was not disappointed, they were fantastic and the mashed potato was also unbelievably good. There was 3 cuts of meat and I devoured the lot, easily the best meal I had during my time in Houston. I did go back and sample again!!

Dinner at Perry's

By red1990 |

Had a very nice dinner with good friends on a Saturday night. Everything was wonderful and especially the pork chop. We will go back.

Bugs

By Debbie M |

My husband and I stopped at Perry’s for a late lunch early dinner just now. While the meal was good we were fighting off flying insects during the entire meal. The attracts on our wine were quite anointing. The managerJerad, did not seem to think it was much of a problem when it was brought to his attention. So disappointed......

Kitchen staff did not wash hands after using the toliet!

By Latoya B |

The experience was great untill prior leaving. I went to the ladies room, handled my business came out and washed my hands. A kitchen employee came out of the stall adjcent the hand-wash area and walked right pass the hand washing area. I was shocked, I couldn't get my words out fast enough. I finished washing my hands and went directly to the manger.. I felt disgusted, knowing that I just had a full course meal and seeing a kitchen staff member come out of the stall and race pass the hand-washing station. I Hope that this situation was handled properly!

Superb!

Visited with friends. Perry’s never fails to deliver. Love the subdued ambience & the professionalism of the staff.....and the food! We started with the tuna carpaccio, shrimp cocktail & bacon-wrapped scallops. I loved the tuna carpaccio...delicious! We enjoyed a few cocktails. The 3 mini cocktail sampler was great. I had the salmon as an entree, which I loved, so moist & tasty with cauliflower mash. Hubby had the Chateaubriand and was very impressed. The 6 oz fillet was also a favorite for our friends. I don’t think you can go wrong with Perry’s.

There's a reason this place is full

My friend booked for the legendary Friday lunch. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, carved at our table with substitutions made at no charge... It was far too big to finish but fabulous.

Will Not Be Back

By Bob1775 |

We had reservations for 4 people at 6pm. We waited about 10 minutes after our reservation time to be seated...not too bad. We were escorted to our table but a party of two was already seated at it. Turns out hostess double assigned the table. So we were left standing in the middle of the dining room while they figured it out. When my wife asked about a vacant 4 top two tables over the hostess wanted to argue with her that it might be reserved by someone else. We were finally seated at the second table. The waiter took our drink orders, then another waiter came and asked what we wanted to drink. We said we already ordered from the other waiter and he said he was our waiter now and we needed to reorder...poor handoff. My wife and I each ordered the spinach salad with warm bacon vinaigrette dressing, the dressing was cold. I had the pork chop which is the house specialty...the ribs and "eye brow" were good. The other section was dry and I only ate one bite. My wife ordered the tempura lobster tail which was cold and the tempura was soggy. Service was slow we had lots of waiting between the salad and meal. The couple seated at our original table were leaving just after our food was served. Prior to delivery of meal they started collecting excess silverware and the bread plates. They then asked us if we wanted them to leave the bread and my friend said yes. We were left with a plate of bread, a steak knife and a fork and no plate for the about 10 minutes until the food to came. I asked our out of town friends how their meal was and got a tepid ok. My friend's wife ate less than half of her steak. The creamed corn and lyonnaise potatoes were both cold. We normally go to Flemings but wanted to give Perrys a try.... We will not be back.

Go for Pork Chop Friday - or any other day

By TRHinHouston |

While all the food is just fantastic - and the service first rate, the real attraction is Pork Chop Friday ... when - at lunch through 4:00pm - they serve their signature pork chop for the incredible price of $13.95 (at least as of the date of this writing).

One of The Best Steakhouse in Houston

Friday Pork Chop MUST

Avoid all the extras just order the pork chop. We split an order of brussel sprouts and still took 3/4 home. Fabulous!

tender steak and amazing ribs

Enjoyed a great shared meal (party of about 10) including ribs, steak, and Polish sausage. Service was good, received a large table order in good time.

Very Swanky Spot with Awesome Service

By Kizzy S |

This is a very swanky restaurant. Our server Ebony was great. She was friendly and super attentive. She suggested the Perru's Pork Chop. It was absolutely amazing. We had the brussel sprouts and the pear salad. Definitely a must return.

Great place for quiet lunch

By feedawg |

We had excellent lunch filets with the days special turtle soup. Both delicious tho I would have preferred a touch more turtle meat in the soup, yet the flavor was wonderful Very attentive service, yet not intrusive. The restaurant is quiet, so a good place for conversation. Very comfortable booth.

Excellent

We stopped in for a nice dinner in the bar area before our flight and vacation began. Unfortunately some of our order did not make it in so we waited a really long time which we didnt mind but we also had to catch the flight. I told the manager we would pay for everything we had but we had to cancel our food which they admitted somehow did not make it in the system. The manager and staff made it 100% right. I won't go into detail as to what they did but I was well satisfied with the way it was handled and I will absolutely return to THIS Perry's location. We have been here many times before and the food has always been excellent as well as the service. They rely go above and beyond.

Great Riday Lunch Special.

By 1946Glenn |

We had a retirement luncheon on Friday March with 14 attending. Most of us ordered the $13.95 Special Pork Chop. Regular price is 19.95 for lunch. A generous portion with applesauce and great mashed potatoes. A very tasty lunch for the price. Service was great as always.

Pleasant American Steakhouse

By U2746ONmarkb |

Went here with a group of friends from a society. It is close to my hotel and the person booking wanted to experience the big pork chop. And it certainly was big. Goes in a doggy bag and feeds you the rest of the week. This is not my kind of place - chain steakhouse, but it is a good chain steakhouse. My main problem with it is that the steak is cornfed stall beef. When I asked for aged grass fed beef to the waiter he went away to check and confirmed that they do not sell grass fed beef, only cornfed stall beef. I don't eat that on moral and health grounds. So I had the Ahi tuna, as the chicken and pork on the menu are also cornfed. I tried a small piece of the pork chop and it was very nicely cooked, I wish they had free range meat, I would have loved a steak. The Tuna was fine. All in all everyone enjoyed the food, so I gave it 4 stars, but I would recommend that the restaurant start to include at least some free range meat options. Most better restaurants do make the effort.

The Good and the Bad

By John O |

We chose Perry’s for our 50th anniversary dinner, because it’s upscale, fairly close to us, and has good-to-excellent food and wine. It was not our best dining experience. On the Good side: We had a delicious rosé champagne from the Loire Valley that tasted more of Rosé wine than other pink champagnes we’ve drunk. I recommend it. We shared each dish we ordered. The spinach salad rates 6 out of 5 stars — it’s the best either of us has eaten. The lobster bisque, which contains chunks of lobster, was a little salty for my wife but I would rate it 5/5. As a main course we had the “Iced Seafood Tower.” This has Blue Point oysters (excellent), large shrimp (very good), blue crab (excellent), and lobster claw and half-tail (good), as well as a cocktail sauce and a migonette sauce for dipping. For dessert we chose, at our waiter’s suggestion, Nutty D’Angelo — vanilla/almond ice cream topped with a sauce of pecans, brown sugar, and brandy flambéed at the table (very good). Each of these is worth ordering again. If you want meat (beef, lamb, pork), you should come with a big appetite. The portions are very large. We have had the ribeye previously, and it’s quite good (this is a steakhouse, after all). But the béarnaise sauce that came with it tasted like it came out of a can. On the Bad side: The evening started on a down note. The women at reception seemed unable to find our reservation. I had called it in several days before, specified the table I wanted, and noted that this would an anniversary dinner. No fewer than four women at reception checked the computer, speaking among themselves and not even looking at us. Finally, after more than five minutes, one woman handed menus and the wine list to another woman who stood there also not looking at us. At last I asked what was happening, and the woman with the menus sort of snapped out of it and took us to our table — which was the one I had originally requested. I’d say the whole process took almost ten minutes (and we were the only ones standing there waiting). If it weren’t our anniversary, I would have walked out. Our waiter was fine, but the fellow who prepared our dessert at the table also seemed oblivious to our presence, possibly because he was wearing an ear bud and paying more attention to whatever music or voices were coming through it. We asked him questions about the preparation. He didn’t answer. We started joking between ourselves about what he must be listening to. No response. Finally, my wife asked him something in a loud voice and he — like the woman with the menus — snapped out of his reverie. He pulled out his ear bud and started describing the sauce he was making. I said our waiter was fine, but he did screw up our order. When he read it back to us, he said Caesar salad, instead of spinach salad. I corrected him. No big deal. Until a Caesar salad arrived at our table. I corrected that guy. He apologized and returned with the spinach salad. Again, not the end of the world. UNTIL the bill came and we were charged for both the Caesar salad and the spinach salad. Come on, people. This is a top-flight restaurant, with prices to match. But not with staff to match, at least on this occasion — which was a big deal for us, our 50th anniversary, of which they’d been notified. One last gripe, the bread and butter that preceded the meal. The bread, although warm, was tasteless. And the butter was whipped, which rendered it nearly tasteless as well. To summarize, the food in general was good. The service in general was not. At a fine restaurant, you’re paying for the whole experience. Ours was disappointing.

Dissappointing to say the least

By burrcache02 |

I had gone to this location once on another occasion. Did not make reservation for the Friday pork chop special. The lunch was delicious. Okay so I thought I would return. This time I made reservation, okay 3 hours b4. When I got there I was seated in the back room. I was told reservations fill up early the day b4. Okay when I was brought my lunch I saw the waiter and waitress from another table chatting as they brought this blackened, crusted, burnt little pork chop to me and my guess. I immediately told them no way. To take it back and bring me another. How could you serve someone something like that. To say the least I will never go there again. My 2nd visit to this location on the Katy Frwy and my last.

Excellent Lunch and Awesome Chops!

By AnB_4ever |

Stopped by Perry's on Friday for lunch and we had their pork chop special. The service was great and the chops we're phenomenal! The bread was warm and a nice start to the meal and then the chops showed up on a sizzling plate and they were huge and remarkable.

Simply the best steak

By Arsener |

Top notch service. The steak is really juicy and tender. Generous serving and really nice ambience. Will visit this place again when I am back to Houston next time.

Gave pork second try. Stay with beef.

By Mario G |

My second time in Sperry’s where they promote the pork chops as one of the main attractions. The first time was at dinner. They were good enough but so huge that even that I did not eat them all I had sleeping problems afterwards. Then I went for lunch some months afterwards. Again the pork chops at the top of suggestions. I bit smaller portion that I eat almost easily. Good but I surely do not suggest as the option to any one going there for first time. Both times I had the opportunity to taste my friends’ plates. All beef. Even a hamburger. All better than mine. So, I love pork but if you have to go to Sperry’s stay with the beef. So, pork has a better profit margin?

Amazing dinner

I had the pleasure to enjoy dinner at Perry's Steakhouse & Grille recently with my colleagues while visiting Houston for a business trip from Washington, D.C. We had such an excellent waiter (so sorry, I did not get his name). He was awesome. My steak was tender and delicious. Everyone in our party really enjoyed the food. If I get the chance to visit Houston again, I will be sure to dine at Perry's Steakhouse! Fabulous dinner, wine and great time.

What a Chop!

By Joe R |

Was taken here by our company's recruiting firm for lunch and was very pleased! The famous pork chop was incredible. The meat is smoked perfectly, the rub adds a sweet and savory flavor, and the sides are a perfect compliment. There's a method to how the chop is cut and enjoyed, but the endeavor is a feast unto itself! We also got a side of the Sriracha Brussels sprouts, which tasted nothing like Sriracha, only mildly like Brussels sprouts, and completely like something I would order again. Just be warned, you'll have to loosen up the wallet for a meal here, but it's certainly worth the extra money for a special occasion.

Great Signature Pork Chop

By MaltaBound |

What is this steakhouse’s signature dish? Their succulent pork chop! Why would a steakhouse have a pork chop as a signature dish? The answer comes after the first taste, it is wonderful. We intentionally dined here for lunch on Friday and took advantage of their Friday LUNCH pork chop special. It's only $14.95 and a generous cut. Discounted sides of creamed spinach and sautéed Brussels sprouts are included as options, get both, we did. And another option is the fried asparagus topped with crab meat...DELISH! And the drinks, top notch, as was the service. Yes, I took food home. I guess it is shareable, but then you won't have the leftovers, and leftovers in my book are as good, sometimes better, than the actual meal. We dined in the afternoon, the special is good 11am to 4pm, the place was packed, but not over-packed. That special brings customers back because many people were eating the chop. I'll be one who returns for certain!

We had the pork hops and scallops for appetizer. It was amazing.. great service too.. thank you Kevin

Wow!

By Columbo |

Dinner for four out-of-town colleagues was absolutely excellent at Perry's! This is an expensive restaurant but well worth the price when the steaks and sides are so good. The house red wine was absolutely excellent. We were not disappointed in choosing this place for a quiet dinner after a full day of work!

Not so Hot with large groups

By SuperwonderPam |

Maybe it's just this location, but was recently there for a large business dinner and thought everything was just mediocre. Steak was medium rare as ordered but still hard to chew. Side orders were pretty mundane for Perrys. The wait staff were very attentive and nice, but Catering is not their gig IMO

Business dinner

By ck47638 |

I was brought here by a coworker when I was in town for business. It had a very nice feel to the place. It seemed like a high end place but I felt comfortable in my jeans as I did not dress up having just arrived in town. Staff was very pleasant, informative, and very attentive. I had the Chef's special and my coworker had the pork chops. My steak was cooked as ordered. I was a little disappointed in the sauces that came with mine but that is probably because I normally don't use sauces with my steak. My coworkers pork chops were huge and looked amazing. Don't plan on finishing this meal. No desert for us but I heard they are good.

Great lunch

By 549janetl |

You can't get a better deal than their Friday pork chop for lunch. For 10.99 you get enough wonderful pork to take home for another dinner for two. Wonderful atmosphere for a very reasonable price. My husband and I usually add a wedge salad to split. You can also add one of their great sides. Lunchtime last until four so you can make it an early dinner. This is fine dinning for a very reasonable price.

Yes, thats right, terrible

By RichardUpshall |

So, eve of Mothers Day and I was invited to join friends to celebrate their Mother, the one I affectionately know as "Grandma" and thought we would be safe going to a renowned venue like Perrys. Oh no, how wrong was I! It started at the bar, with a drinks order going in, after attracting the attention of the bar man, and 10 minutes later no sign of the drinks or an update on them, and we were sat at the bar and watched other peoples cocktails come out who had ordered after we did. Through to the main dining room, and things got worse. The service was off all night, and ended up with us just telling the staff how terrible our experience was, to be greeted with simply a shrug and 'y'all have a nice night'. So, leaving the service aside, lets talk about the food. We had a selection of starters, and they were acceptable. The calamari had a good spicy kick to it, the seafood tower was OK as were the escargot. To the mains, and this is where the wheels really came off. Half the party ordered the lamb, a signature dish, and it was just all wrong. The sides were all cold, the lamb not prepared correctly and the 'jus' on the lamb was simply burnt acidic oil. It was horrible. The rest of the meals that came out were average to poor with the exception of the one who had the renowned pork chop, which was OK, with cold sides. Then put this with having to ask 3 times where the wine we ordered to go with our food was, and waiting 20 mins for it to arrive from a wine cellar 20 feet away and you really start to feel my frustration. It was more than I could bear, so we got the check and left after 90 minutes, despairing of any real service...thank god for Del Friscos at The Galleria who really saved the day. Incidentally their lamb is absolutely spot on and always with hot sides!

Hands down - best experience in a long time!

By browii |

That was awesome. Great food, great service- perfect! We can highly recommend this place and we’ll be back!

Date Night

By Jonathan S |

Me and my wife decided to try Perry’s after we heard good things about it. As a appetizer we got the pepper calamari and it was the best I have ever had. For dinner I got the pecan crusted snapper and the fried asparagus. Fish was good but the fried asparagus was delicious. We sat in the bar area and they had a guy playing the piano. It was very nice. I would recommended this restaurant to other people.

Pork Chop...Enough said

By VSPFUN |

Clean, welcoming enviroment. Our waiter(s) (not our first time here) are always courteous, helpful and great at suggestions from the menu. Food is beyond dee-lee-cious!! I TIP#1: if you are coming for the Friday Pork Chop special, be sure to set your reservation WAY ahead of time. This place can get PACKED! TIP#2: Valet Park, it's worth the $4 dollars

Another great meal

By littlejohn |

We like Perry's but don't get to this one very often. We enjoyed just about everything like crab cakes, lobster bisque, bison ribeye (which was excellent). several filets, kids fingers and burgers, au gratin potatoes, brussels sprouts, lobster mac and chees and more. Of course Silver Oak, prosecco, bailey's and more. Service could have been better, ALLOT better Staff seems to congregate and talk in the corner for a while then disperse and visit tables then back to the corner. Really unacceptable.

Had the pork chop that I have heard so much about. It was pretty big. It was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Plus the service there is top notch. Well worth the money. Sides are served family style.

Great Steak, but AMAZING Desserts!

By J J |

We go to Perrys Steakhouse every year during xmas time. Not only do they have great service, good appetizers, and a fantastic steak..but their dessert is simply out of this world! I am not talking the traditional "New York style" cheesecake or the ever so seen Tres Leches, I am talking about the desserts you look forward to getting once a year, their signature flaming desserts prepared right next to the table. My wife gets the same thing everytime we go, even though she says she will get something different, the Nutty D'Angelo- they flambee these crushed pecan chips in brandy and brown sugar and make a shell around a big ball of vanilla ice cream with white chocolate and almonds and pour that deliciousness on top...I myself am a sucker for the bananas foster they flambee right next to you, and my wife can never finish hers so I get the best of both. Either way, you will not be disappointed...

Vic our waitress did a great job. Upbeat and pleasant. Also very knowledgeable about menu. I had their famous pork chop. Highly recommend especially if you’re hungry. My wife had the petit filet and said it was delicious. Also recommended the kale jalapeño salad.

- Prepare to elevate your dining experience to new heights at Perry's Steakhouse, where they truly demonstrate Texan's ability to elevate meat. The selection of steak, seafood, and complementary dishes is impressive, but the overall experience goes beyond just the meat. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the meal, from the handcrafted cocktails and extensive wine list to the impeccable presentation of each dish. To top it all off, we had the most incredible waiter, David S, who brought a great mix of professionalism, humor, and comfort to the entire experience. - Michael Glinter has traveled to 68 countries and 36 states to get the flavor of some amazing foods. His view on reviews is simple – Taste, Presentation, and Service. He believes telling the reader a positive and negative unbiased look at the restaurant is essential. - STARTERS: Louisiana Turtle Gumbo – If you're looking for an authentic taste of Louisiana, look no further than the Turtle Gumbo, combining the richness of Louisiana turtle with homemade Cajun-spiced Polish sausage, resulting in a dish that's as bold as it is comforting. This Turtle Gumbo is a testament to the chef's skill in blending traditional flavors with a creative twist. The tender morsels of turtle meat impart a unique depth to the dish, while the homemade Cajun-spiced Polish sausage adds a satisfying kick that lingers on the palate. - Lobster Bisque – my biggest pet peeve with Lobster Bisque is the lobster. Many restaurants feel they can get away with calling it lobster bisque with no real presence of the main ingredient. This dish did NOT disappoint at all. This classic soup was taken to new heights, boasting generous chunks of succulent lobster meat that elevate it to a level of unparalleled comparison to many restaurants. The velvety texture of the soup with he rich, briny flavor of the lobster infuses every mouthful with an exquisite depth. Each spoonful reveals tender morsels of lobster meat, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, adding a delightful contrast to the smoothness of the bisque. - MAIN ENTREES Carved Tableside Pork Chop – This was undoubtedly one of the best Pork Chop experiences I have ever had; it was a culinary marvel carved out tableside and can feed 2 people! Picture this: a sizzling hot cast iron plate arrives at your table, with this aroma of sweet and smoky perfection wafts through the air as they carve apart a 4-6" high pork chop into multiple amazing pieces displayed on a hot plate for you to enjoy. This succulent chop embodies the essence of premium quality and meticulous craftsmanship. Cured to perfection, then delicately roasted, slow-smoked, and finally caramelized to achieve a mesmerizing depth of flavor that will leave you speechless. A generous serving of homemade applesauce accompanies it; this dish achieves the perfect balance of sweet and savory, elevating every bite to heavenly heights. My only complaint was that the applesauce was served cold where it should have been served warm. - Symphony Kabob is truly a fascinating tableside experience as well. Prepare to be dazzled by a culinary masterpiece unlike any other as you embark on a gastronomic journey it comes out in a hanging presentation that exudes sophistication and charm, showcasing a perfectly cooked 6 oz. Filet Mignon, two ounces of chargrilled lobster, and three plump chargrilled Gulf shrimp. They remove the food from the hanging bar and prepare the lobster, shrimp, and filet, removing the shells and presenting them eloquently on a hot plate. They are accompanied by 3 sauces: velvety Truffle Merlot Demiglace, with its luxurious depth of flavor, or the bold and peppery Peppercorn Reduction sauce, and a homemade bearnaise. I will say the Truffle Merlot Demiglace was amazing. Surprisingly, their signature homemade bearnaise was a flop. I told the waiter, and he went to the back to try it. He told the chef that it wasn't prepared properly; it was missing an ingredient. But overall, the food was outstanding. - DESSERT Rocky Road Bread Pudding – What can I say. I’m not normally a dessert guy but this was over the top amazing. As you take your first spoonful, you're greeted by the warm embrace of butterscotch-infused bread pudding, generously studded with decadent chocolate chips that melt in your mouth, creating a symphony of sweetness that dances on your palate. But what truly made it extraordinary was a perfectly toasted homemade marshmallow, its golden exterior giving way to a gooey, melt-in-your-mouth interior that adds a touch of nostalgia and whimsy to this already enchanting dessert. - /Having eaten at high-end steak restaurants worldwide, I was truly delighted with this culinary experience. Perry's delivers an unparalleled dining experience that is nothing short of extraordinary. So, if you're craving an unforgettable meal that will leave you speechless, look no further than Perry's Steakhouse and Grill. Don't forget to ask for David S – He was amazing!!!!

One of my favourite resturants

By garycallow |

This one of my favourite restaurants in the US. Whether enjoying formal dining or hanging out at the bar you are certain to have a memorable experience. The steaks are phenomenal and the service is top drawer. This will be the first restaurant I go to when I'm back in Houston.

Wonderful Experience

By eyork24 |

Went to Perry's for the first time, while visiting in Houston. The food was excellent and the service was flawless. We had the crab cakes and fried asparagus for appetizers and the Hong Kong Sea Bass and Filet for entrees. Of course for dessert had the warm molten cake. Our server, Robert, made excellent wine recommendations

Wonderful!

By Claude P |

I lived in Chicago for 16 years. I know steakhouses and I am very discerning. It is tough for a steakhouse to get 5 stars from me. This one deserves 6. This restaurant checks all the boxes but the food is INCREDIBLE. The pork chop is like nothing you will ever see. It is their specialty and I highly recommend it. Big, juicy and absolutely delicious. I mean over the top I want to come back tomorrow and the next day great! Nice selection of liquor and cocktails. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Great for families or business meals. Did I mention the pork chop? You have to try it.

Pork Chop....oh my

By 19goSkins |

I might as well start with the signature pork chop. All I can say is WOW! It was really good, but way too much food for one person/one meal. I was in town on business, and departing the next morning, so wasn’t able to take a doggie bag. It was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend. This would be 5 stars if just for the pork chop. But, the French onion soup was average and another diner’s Medium Plus steak came out rare. It was literally blood red. Sides of mushrooms and fried asparagus were perfect, but au gratin potatos weren’t the best I’ve ever had.

Maybe too much

By George J |

I was there on a business trip and decided to order their famous pork cutlet. It was a massive piece of meat which they carved into three separate cuts at the table. The pork was absolutely delicious, but there was no way I could finish and I didn't have anywhere at the hotel to keep the leftovers, so they went to waste - too bad. I would definitely go back, but I would split it with my wife next time!

Really good steak

By Jonathan J |

Myself and a business friend ate here for dinner today. It was a good experience. We each had an 8 ounce filet and we had the Mac n cheese and truffle fries. It was all amazing. I’ve been to some of the best steak houses in the US and this steak ranked in the top.

A Memorable Experience

By Paula B |

My husband and I went there for our anniversary and me being a romantic was so impressed with the Rose petals that were scattered around the table. This was a special touch because they only do this for special occasions. The pork chop melts in your mouth and trust me there will be enough left over to take home. If you are a steak person, they are cooked to perfection and delicious. I especially like the little desserts they serve which enables you to try more than one and they are a perfect amount especially after a big dinner. The service is excellent and they really make you feel like you had a special dining experience. I just cannot say enough good things about it.

Epic pork chop

Friday Special is Amazing

By Daniel R |

I was recently there for a business related lunch and decided to order the Friday Special Pork Chops; it is an amazing dish, with slow cooked pork, and mashed potatoes that I highly recommend if you are very hungry. I highly recommend starting with the onion soup. Very good place overall.

Great food

By 198Moonlight |

We had a group business dinner at Perry's. The steak was cooked to perfection and tasted great as it was seasoned very well. I also enjoyed the trio desert also. Personally, I like it better than Taste of Texas which is highly thought after steakhouse in Houston.

A must go.

By Andris L |

Over the years , whenever I visit Sugerland, Perry's is a " must go" restaurant. It is the one place where I can still obtain a turtle soup with sherry...it is the first thing that I order....after that I vary the excellent dishes. I was advised by my companions to try the desert , I can recall the name....it was prepared at the table side with the server sautéing a blend of butter, brown sugar, crushed pecans and flambéed with brandy over vanilla ice cream...it was sinfully delicious and to be recommended, The service was excellent as usual.

$1000 disaster

By davejantexas |

Perry’s has been one of our go-to places for major family events. We should have known this evening was going to be problematic when the valet left the car in gear when he exited and only luck avoided a collision. The seven of us placed our orders and enjoyed several appetizers and wine. When the trays from the kitchen arrived with our dinners, our server and two assistants spent several minutes trying to match the plates with the orders. Another sign that something was amiss. It turned out that two filets were overcooked but were accepted. Another was badly overcooked and refused. The other filet was not recognizable as a filet. It was a plate of $54 mystery meat. Five of us proceeded to eat. The replacement dinners did not arrive until we had finished our meals. Our server was noticeably upset. A couple of management folks stopped by and made lukewarm apologies. They comped the two late dinners and gave us dessert. This was supposed to be a family celebration of a major life event. But Perry’s kitchen ruined our night and will be family lore forever. Avoid!

Not worth a visit

I thought I would eat an exceptional meat being in Texas but I was really disappointed! There is already no T Bone on the map. The steaks served were tender but covered with salt which left no room for meat taste. It is absolutely necessary to ask for a side order - accompaniment- even if some dishes mention having them but we do not receive it. The service is excellent, inviting and the girl very kind. I feel like it’s a trendy place where you like to look without worrying about what you eat. And very expensive!!

Chewey with Gristle — Tenderloin??

By Exploration318573 |

Chewey with Gristle— Very Poor quality beef. Served as the filet dinner at NYE — Lousy overpriced excuse for a steakhouse —- and coming from from a group that started as a butcher shop

I was not expecting the quality and flavor!

By brent3162 |

I went to Perrys for a company dinner with out of town guests. We reserved a private room and the service was great. The food even better. I had the ribeye but after seeing the porkchop I was a bit jealous I have to admit. Wow what a piece of meat. I also had the au gratin potatoes, they were very good.

More Than Steak

By Marny D |

Had a nice dinner with some clients. Music a bit too loud but we had a private room so we could close the door. The restaurant is a typical steak restaurant but has a nice meal for everybody. Even the vegetarian in our group got a very nice pasta. Others with dietary restriction were charmed by the served fish . All meat and fish dishes come with a special potato with bacon and greens. Service was really excellent!! Portions are way too big, but I guess Houston is famous for that.

Business Dinner

By Heath S |

Great atmosphere for meeting with clients. Quiet enough where you can actually carry a conversation, but not too quiet to make you feel self-conscience. Food was very well prepared the way I ordered. Steak was perfectly done. The 7 finger pork chop is the meal to order!

Dinner for 16

Went here with a large group of friends for dinner. We sat in the back private room which was very nice. The pork chop was amazing and the portion was way more than I could eat. Service was good and the waiters were very attentive.

Two entrees to terrific

By Sanders93 |

Wonderfully decorated and well stocked with an abundance of tasty adult beverages. Although my first entree was terribly lacking in flavor and I should never have ordered pasta at a steakhouse, my southwest steak was very good. The spicy corn relish complementing the dish and the lobster Mac n cheese I ordered made for a great meal. The martini flight I happily ordered twice was a great accompaniment to my meal. Fried asparagus appetizer was simply exquisite and may quite possibly comprise my entire meal on my return.

What a amazing dinning experience !!!! The food was absolutely delicious and presentation was stunning. Would defiantly recommend this dinning experience to anyone that is in the area.

Forgot to request my order

By Paradise66619951259 |

Ordered to go an hour before I came for pick up. I arrived and nobody seemed to remember my order. Highly inconvenienced because I needed to be somewhere. Young lady upfront said I'm not the one who took your order. Do better. We spend wayyy too much money with you for that to be a response. Service is apart of why we dine with you.

Great Steakhouse by superb Mall

By Irma |

Perry’s steakhouse is a local gem and a must visit if you are in the Memorial part of Houston. I would highly highly recommend it. The dinner pork chops special are rather large and sufficient for two or even three big eaters. I would highly recommend the Seabass. The flavor is absolutely incredible not to mention the internal temperature in the seasoning along with it is excellently pared. The whipped mashed potatoes were creamy and light well yet dense enough to be delicious. The apple sauce pairing with the mashed potatoes is out of this world. Finally, the lobster mac & cheese had an absolutely tremendous flavor while the cheese sauce was a rich creamy sauce with a lot of deep cheese flavor. You cannot go wrong with any plate her but all in all, I would go with pork chop!! The sides and dessert are a bonus pleasure

A Must Try

By Erica H |

If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend their signature pork chops. There is nothing like it. Houston Restaurant Week is what brought me in. But the pork chops are definitely what will be bringing me back.

Excellent Steak and Fantastic Ambience

By Donna K |

Perfect restaurant for any special occasion. We have celebrated wedding anniversaries, graduations, birthdays and just special get-togethers! The perfect evening is going to run close to $100 per person, but it is so worth it. The Perry family is passionate about their meat and actually started out in the butcher business - so they know a lot about meat. Highly recommend the ribeye steak and the pork chop is like nothing you ever had. Favorite appetizers are the fried asparagas and the butternut squash casserole is simply fantastic. Be sure to save room for the Nutty D'Angelo dessert - fried scoop of vanilla ice cream service table-side and flambe'd with butter, nuts and brown suger. Worth every penny!

Dining on the high side of life

By gsanbrook |

Very upscale dining establishment. I came here with a group from work for lunch. I had the butchers blend hamburger. Very, very good. As it should be for $15. Impeccable service and place. Spotless in all accounts. All of my other co-workers had the "luncheon sized" pork chop. Goodness, if this is luncheon sized, I have no idea how big a dinner sized portion is. Not one single person I was with came anywhere near eating all of it. Not even half. A better term to describe it would be "pork chop roast" instead of pork chop. I am a big eater and I would not hesitate to split that luncheon sized portion with another diner, an even possibly 2 other diners! The luncheon chop was also $15. Great atmosphere and truly a special occasion place, unless you have money growing on trees.

Meh

By ChowHound2015 |

Was so excited to eat at Perry’s for the first time. Nice well appointed facility, dimly lit with a traditional steak house vibe. Host staff super friendly and multiple people tried to assist me in finding my already seated party. The food quality another story. This was a special occasion dinner and I didn’t want to slight or embarrass my host, had I been paying I would have returned multiple items. Wedge salad was room temperature actually slightly warm, Signature Asparagus super salty and was over battered and either over browned or cooked in old oil, couldn’t locate the seafood in the stuffed mushrooms, Calamari was ok, Beef n Bleu ok, Brussel sprouts ok. Symphony Kabob wasn’t presented table side as advertised. The tiny piece of lobster with the kabob had no flavor, the shrimp were good and the filet cooked as ordered. The two sauces that came with the kabob were bland and uninspiring, as was the rest of the food. The wait staff was adequate but again uninspiring. The restaurant was full so Perry’s must be doing something right but they surely missed the mark on our visit.

best Pork Chop ever

By Eddie H |

in town on business trip and this was the first place everyone said we had to try. it did not disappoint. don't look at the menu just ask for the pork chop.....

Mutiple visits, never disappointed

By Reality LUZERS |

Had anniversary dinner here over the weekend. Food and service was awesome, as usual. Threw in some coffee and dessert which made it necessary to "roll" us out after the meal. Have been here multiple times, have never been disappointed in the food or the service. Will definitely be back.

Excellent food and service

By Panther0977 |

Dined here with some business clients. Place is beautiful the staff is great they have a big bar to hang out in. It's expensive and you have to order extra sides but worth it. I would definitely come back here for a great meal. Our waiter she was excellent I think she just had a baby a few months ago and we adored her, spot on with the wine and service love this place

Not what you expected

By Matt D |

I have visited the restaurant on a business trip but it was a disappointment. Ambiance and the general looks of the property gives you a quality vibe but the experience is nothing like it. Servers do not look happy, meals are too seasoned and the prices are way over the quality of the food.

Great steaks!!

By travis656 |

We just arrived to Houston in our way to South Padre Island (little getaway) we decided to eat here and this restaurant is very good, good food, the service it's just ok, everything else is remarkable. .

Office Holiday Party

By Justin H |

Great food and great service. I had no idea this restaurant was as big as it was from the outside. Great spaces and room in the rear for larger parties and get-togethers. As always, their food was excellent, and the waiters were very attentive to our needs. Would recommend this location or their other locations in a heartbeat.

Never Ever a Disappointment

By Cyndi C |

We have dined in Houston since the late '80's. Perry's has always been one of the best dining experiences. The legendary pork chop lives up to its reputation and will surely savor all four days of smoking. The spinach bacon salad is very fresh as is the lettuce wedge with blue cheese. My Perry's filet with asparagus and lump crab is a favorite. Honestly, over the years, we've tried many things and they are all terrific. It keeps us coming back. If you are fortunate enough to get Tyrin, you know you will have terrific service. Our only disappointment is that the Clear Lake Perry's Italian closed. All of grandmama's best recipes... oh.. she was a master.

Excellent experience

By Diane C |

Had what may have been the best filet I’ve ever had. My customer raved about the signature pork chop, and had leftovers. Portions are generous. We had grilled asparagus and creamed corn. Both amazing. Good atmosphere, nice privacy, and a bartender who knows how to shake a martini. It’s a little pricey, but worth it!

The most amazing restaurant Ive EVER been to.

By Bobby P |

If you dont go here you are missing out. Whether its the pork chop or the steak, you cant go wrong. Chef's who know what their doing. The salad was a meal in its self. Creamed spinach that was a show stopper and my steak was PERFECT.

Great service but food quantity has fallen

By BWB77024 |

The service was very nice. The food was cooked correctly. But it was strange to see that the place was maybe 1/2 full on a saturday night when all the other steakhouses were full with a waiting line. It has been a while since we have been here and it shows. The wine poor was not as generous as it was. The food again while good was small in proportion. We had the chateau Briand which is our favorite here. As you can see you now get 3 slices. Really. There was a time you got a bigger meat portion and could carve out more. The seafood version included a small two ounce shot glass style container of butter and two pieces of crab. Not worth the money.( we had it on the side) We certainly did not take any home. Apparently they were also running this special they never told us about: Our $44 4-course prix fixe menu is back for July only.

Quality Restaurant

By NashvilleNative88 |

Came here for a business lunch. Had the lobster bisque and warm spinach & bacon vinaigrette salad. Would recommend both. Ambiance and atmosphere was upscale (as in above casual) and suitable for a professional setting. Great service, great food. Would come back.

Perry's is a winner

By djfowler |

This was my second visit to Perry's and it did not disappoint and was definitely worth travelling to. The first thing you notice is how busy the place is. And the energy is upbeat. The room is modern with a small wine tower at the centre. There is an upstairs and downstairs dining area as well as a reasonable bar area. This is a big restaurant. The bar staff knew what they were doing. They were friendly. The range behind the bar is a little limiting, especially for cocktails. They do the basics well. Staff seem to be a little young and inexperienced, but are extremely helpful and reasonably attentive. They appear to work a smaller number of tables and as a result do a good job. I had a turtle soup as a starter. Served with sherry. This was my first ry of turtle soup and I liked it. I then followed with the Australian lamb. It was perfect. The others had the snapper and Perry's famous pork chop. I had the pork chop last time and it is very good. It is also huge. Apparently the snapper was perfect as well. We also ordered creamed spinach and potatoes gratin. I found the sides to be a little too sloppy for my liking and would stick to greens next time. Portions here are very large. Be warned. It is ideally suited to locals who can take their leftovers home with them. As per the bar options, the wine list is safe and on the smaller side for a restaurant like this. But all the basics are there. There are plenty of steak places around Houston, but Perry's is a definite winner and worth visiting.

Expensive steakhouse

By LD1971 |

excellent meat but expensive place, you need to pay for your vegetables or French fries, more than 40 dollars for a steak, same if very tasty, expensive, when you had the rest.

lunch

By F9968XUchrisa |

It was a quick business lunch. We had Bacon Wrapped Scallops and Ahi Tuna Tartar. Great service and good food. Nice clean place with great atmosphere.

Best Pork Chop ever!

By Chris C |

I was there for a business dinner. Normally when 40+ people are eating it’s hard to get it right. Understandably the menu was limited and went with the Pork Chop! Ok, the portion was huge, but don’t let that out you off. It’s that good, might even be the best chop I have eaten! Now I need to take my wife!

Good food for a simple Steakhouse

By USinSA |

Parking - valet or self parking provided flexibility. I believe a small fee was paid. Ambiance - tables close together, and there was traffic from the waitstaff happening around our table, but I suppose not out of the ordinary for a steakhouse ... not a quiet dinning spot, so expect some rumblings. Food - I had salmon and vegetables, while I don't typically go for fish, this came recommended, and I wasn't disappointed. Everyone in our party appeared to enjoy their meals as well, steaks were a hit, no complaints all around. We shared a couple of large deserts. I'll return.

As always an excellent evening

By teresamaria77 |

4 of went for dinner Saturday night. Best to make a reservation here as it’s always fairly busy. The food is all excellent. We all had cocktails & wine with dinner. I had the berry mule it was very nice. We had the pork bites to start with. Delicious then we 2 split a spinach bacon salad. And then we split the pork dish. We ordered fried asparagus and the corn side dishes. The corn mix is really good they don’t have this in Perry’s in Austin. Then to finish we had the flambé icecream yummy! Got an uber so we could drink but there is good parking. The food is always great here but we split dishes as it’s way too much for one person then we don’t have to mess with food to go. It’s a nice restaurant for really good dining.

Love!

By Abigail |

My sister and I are visiting Houston and we were in the mall browsing around. We were looking for somewhere to eat and came across this place on the list. We were not disappointed. The server was outstanding, he made sure that we were okay and didn't hesitate to help us or clarify anything. The food was excellent and most of what we ordered was prepared and served tableside (which added a nice flare to our experience). I would definitely love to eat here again when I visit in the future.

Exceptional service

By Mickey W |

We chose Perry’s to celebrate my parents anniversary. The whole staff is truly wonderful. The Resturant is classy with an impressive selection of wine. Food was absolutely delicious not to mention the awesome dessert presentation. Eydie has exceptional customer service and went out of her way to make sure we were satisfied. We will definitely choose Perry’s for all of our celebrations.

Predictable

By AOM1000 |

We went to Perry's as a large-ish family group. We were mostly composed of people from the UK. What can I say? Perry's serves predictable American fare in predictably large portions. Some steaks can be ordered in different sizes, but overall I thought that it was very average, and for the food and quality of food totally extortionate. There is no refinement or nuance to this type of cuisine. Several big loafs of bread were placed on the table to get us going. My starter, a beef carpaccio, seemed to be a large bag of ruccola placed on top of an oversized portion of (admittedly good) sliced beef, with lots of parmesan shaved on top. Nothing subtle, and no attempt at something more refined, content wise or visually. The main was again an excessive amount of food, and the sides were all very rich but again lacking any kind of nuance. Predictable is the best word I could think of. I shall leave the US with the feeling, once more, that American cuisine is just about large portions of (in this case) good quality ingredients cooked and served with no imagination or finesse. If you have lots of money and like to believe that price and quality are correlated, go here, otherwise the Italian next door looked like it might be a better bet.

What a portion.......

By Denise J |

Perri's was the second restaurant that we ate in during our 2 day visit to Houston. We visited on a Friday - without a reservation - and only had to wait 20 minutes before being seated. We, of course, had the infamous lunch special pork chop. The portion was large and the chop was extremely tender. I highly recommend a visit to Perri's.

Standard steakhouse. Go for happy hour.

By seaskills |

Same formula as all steakhouse style restaurants: expensive a la carte style menu and wine list at 3x-4x retail prices. Below average service - waiter was efficient but lacked the intuition that comes with pros who have spent time in higher end eateries. Expect $125-$150/person all-in by time dust settles. Pork chop ($37) is massive and better suited for two. Carpaccio appetizer ($17) was below average with an over-dressed/garlicky pile of arugula. Smoked salmon appetizer ($16) was unexpectedly good - a nice sized piece of house-smoked (hot-smoked) salmon with a tasty tartare sauce. Popular happy hour place - nice bar menu of appetizers in the $7-$8 range. Cocktails are decent and in the $6-$8 range.

Excellent Filet Mignon with great service.

By jvanagteren |

Had business diner with colleagues and decided for the 12oz Filet Mignon medium rare. It was excellently cooked and crispy outside but inside red like it should be. Well done and great service overall. I enjoyed the stay in a good ambiance and very quiet table.

Very enjoyable steak and seafood

My wife and I stopped in without reservation and were pleased that we could be seated near the wine room. Symphony Kabob was excellent and perfect for sharing. Service was good.

Excellent Lunch

By Bill L |

You have to come here at least once in your life for the Friday porkchop lunch special. Of course the service is excellent, one would expect nothing less from Perry's. Of course just about anything on this menu is going to be amazing. Try the pork chop lunch.

Great food, snail-paced service and a ridiculous charge on our bill

By Joe G |

Group of six celebrating a birthday. The food was great. The steaks, pork chops, lobster bisque, appetizers, desserts. All great. The server was as nice, but he would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time. He took my drink order and instead of taking everyone else’s at that time he left and returned 10 minutes later with my drink. Water, soda, and drinks went too long without being refilled. It took way too long to transition from appetizers to the main course, from the main course to dessert, and from dessert to paying. We wound up being there three hours. I have no idea where he would disappear to because he wasn’t waiting on the other tables in our area. He told me the manager said I had to order a bottle of the wine I wanted because they don’t sell it by the glass. I showed him the menu where they offer it by the glass. Either the manager never said that and the server was trying to pull one over on me or the manager said it and the manager was trying to pull one over on us. The kicker for me was that they charged us for a “Dessert Trio” they brought on their own, unasked, to the person whose birthday we were celebrating. None of us ordered it - we had all ordered different desserts which we received and rightly paid for. Unfortunately for us we didn’t realize it until after we had paid and left, so too late to say anything which I guess was the chance they were willing to take. Charging us for something we didn’t order and that was presented as something gratis was ridiculous. They ruined their goodwill over a $10 nickel and dime job.

Lovely Restaurant in Memorial City

By Peter N |

I've been to Perry's twice and absolutely enjoyed it. The service is great, the food better but the star attraction is their famous pork chop. You must try it. Cooked to perfection and a humongous portion, even by Texas standards, this pork chop is a gourmet delight of the highest order. Go on Friday for lunch and you get it at a reduced price. Sumptuous!

Perry’s Memorial

Such a nice ambiance! Very classy with great food! lobster Mac & cheese a number 1 pick! Very tiny cocktails but our server Cory was bubbly w a great attitude!

Best Pork Chop Ever!

If you've never had them, you are missing out. They are great anytime but go on Fridays for lunch special. Around $15 for pork chop, sides and tea.

Not Brenner's

By Vic777_12 |

My wife does many programs at Perry's and normally everything is fine. When we went out to enjoy a nice dinner after hurricane Harvey, it was not. Keep in mind this a prime steakhouse with wines up to $1700 a bottle. -Our sitting was late even we booked on OpenTable. -Server gave us... a lot of time to look over the menu.... -Food was severely late while others had finished who were seated after us. -Food was not cooked to preferences (My wife ordered medium and it was so blood red we had to chase it around the restaurant). -PRO: Management really went out of their way to make things right; Obviously they are professional food and beverage people with lots of experience; Our server, not so much. The food was otherwise good after the stress of getting it to the table. The bottom line for us is that we work too hard to pay these prices for service that is subpar to Chili's. We would have gone to Brenner's but their only opening was at 9pm--- for good reason.
