Worst service

By Jennifer W |

I came here last night at 8pm to celebrate my friends birthday who also happens to be 9 months pregnant. I got in before them and got a table. While I waited for them, I ordered a glass of wine that didn’t come for 10min. (They also did not serve me bread until after my friends arrived) When my friends arrived we ordered 2 appetizers, the cauliflower and stuffed artichoke. I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo my other friend ordered a ravioli and the birthday girl ordered a fish. The appetizers came and the waiter dropped the artichoke sauce all over the birthday girl. She said she was ok but she wasn’t. Being pregnant she started to get nauseous from the smell of the sauce that fell on her. Not only that but it destroyed her shirt. Already 9:30 and the dinners are still not out. I asked the waiter what’s going on? How much longer does it take for pasta and fish? He came back after going into the kitchen and said 3 min and that there was a party.... (total lie, they forgot) our waitress came after 3 min and said I just spoke to the kitchen and they said 3 min. I told her that 3 min ago someone else told me 3 min too. Meaning they where stalling to get our food ready. Finally it came 5min later. Food was ok. When we got the check they told us they disconnected the birthday girls meal. I was so shocked to hear that it was not free considering they destroyed her shirt that spilled on her - losing her appetite - and killed a fun night out. After speaking my mind she managed to make her dish free of charge. They should have done it from the start and told her that her meal is free after already spilling on her.... I will never go here again.

Really good food, terrible acoustics

By Cee T |

The food is somewhat original and very tasty. The portions are on the small side. The desserts are fantastic. Just incredible. The noise level is really disrupting and it makes you think twice about going back.

Beautiful and excellent food

By bob375 |

This is a Chalav Yisroel Dairy Restaurant. The place is beautifully appointed, it is quite sizable, and the food is splendidly presented, but most of all, is delicious. The prices are reasonable as well. Service was very good. You'll definitely enjoy this restaurant.

Not (quite) an oxymoron

By Bob Myers |

Foodies have long scoffed at kosher restaurants claiming to be "gourmet kosher" but Pescada (in Flatbush) comes pretty close. Catering to an upscale Orthodox Jewish community, on an otherwise residential street, it offers unusually excellent food from an encyclopedic menu, offering a variety of Italian choices (especially pizzas), outstanding grilled fish and --no surprise here -- terrific dessert choices. I had a grilled dorado and it was delicious. The (huge) whole fish required that I filet it, removing the head, tail, and backbone so don't order it if that worries you. If you have room, the dessert choices were very well done. I imagine a lot of clients come just for dessert, in fact. Service was friendly and helpful, but parking could be a problem if you don't choose Uber. The overall ambience fell short of what one finds in Manhattan establishments, with an emphasis on large tables for large family gatherings but was not a problem for us. Noise could be a problem if it were full (like on holidays) but didn't bother us on a weekday evening. The bottom line -- if "gourmet kosher" is for you, Pescada is a very good choice.

Quick bite

Like always the food was good. The nectarine salad was fresh, the tropical egg roll was spot on and the cheese cake for dessert was the icing on the cake. No pun intended.

Amazing food and service

Excellent but too noisy

By Michael L |

We were assaulted by the noise as soon as we stepped in and it only got worse when the restaurant filled up. Second issue, no cheesecake. That's it for the negatives. This place is great! The food was out of site. The staff extremely nice and the décor was very nice. Relatively new restaurant. A bit on the expensive side, but delicious. Would definitely go again, but maybe with ear plugs.

great restaurant with great food at a fair price

By Nachum K |

My nephew had gotten married the night before and we were gathering together to say the special blessings that are said at the end of the meal for the week after the wedding. There are many restaurants to choose from in Brooklyn and we ended up choosing this 1 based on recommendations, the interactions with the owner and what we felt was a fair price for what we were supposed to get. To say we were satisfied would be an understatement we were extremely happy with the quantity and quality of the food, the service, the ease with which we dealt with the owner. We started off with salads which were fresh delicious and varied, we went into she is platters which for first thing made, warm, varied types and taste, and though he had said if you do it family style do not worry if we run out of something because people like 1 thing more than the other we will just bring out more and he brought out more and more and more. We then went to the Pasta which was fresh, al dente and delicious. By the time he brought out the fish which was extremely well-done salmon and bronzini I was almost sorry I had eaten everything else as the fish was still delicious I wish I had more room for the fish. It was getting towards the end and then they brought out the desert and then I was sorry I had eaten the rest of the food as the desserts were out of this world. There were cheese cakes, churros, creme de brulee, custard, will complemented by unending soda and a large urn of fresh brewed coffee. By the time we left everyone, and we were about 35 people, were stuffed to the gills and complementing us for a superb choice. I can definitely say this will be at the top of our list for celebrations or even just lunch or dinner in the future.

great food

By David M |

i tried the brisket and it was very good and melted in my mouth. however after being served i requested mustard and it took a long time coming. on a second visit the second slice of meat was entirely a piece of fat with no meat at all. parking is a problem all over brooklyn but it was enjoyable.

Unexpected treat

By Leah Z |

I stumbled across this place almost by accident and what a treat! The menu was creative; an interesting assortment of ingredients and dishes. We had some sort of avocado spring roll with 2 types of dipping sauce, butternut squash with pomegranate seeds and feta, a nectarine salad and Mediterranean salad with tuna (slices, not salad). The portions were decent, the service quite good. The decor, all white, is quite calming. I'm planning to go back for some of the fish dishes.

Delicious and Friendly

I was there with my wife as well as with friends. The management recently changed and is bettter than before. Their appetizers are ridiculously delicious and original. Their steaks are perfect. I had the cowboy and their smoked brisket as well as almost every appetizer. Gotta go there!!

Great Ambience, Great Food

By Rachel P |

We really enjoyed Pescada. My husband had the tilapia and I had tuna. Perhaps best kosher dairy restaurant I've ever been at.

Amazing Experience

By milton d |

A restaurant with a high level of decor and service, plus, nestled in a great location. The food is so tasty and delicious and presented in glamorously manner. You'll feel like your in manhattan!

Decent food Lousy Service

By TrozDDS |

Place is nice but very noisy. I did not think a restaurant that considers itself fine dining should have paper as table cloths on the top of the tables with a cloth underneath it. I almost asked for a crayon because that was the vibe with the white paper on top. When customers leave, they just remove the paper and put new paper on. Appetizers and the desserts were great but skip the main dishes especially the pasta! I would skip the pizza as well. When the waiter brought the bottle of Pellegrino he did not even open it let alone offer to pour it. The glasses were previously filled with tap water and they did not bring empty glasses after being asked several times. We needed forks and had to ask several times as well. The table had appetizer plates and when the mains were served they did not remove empty plates so there was no room and they just dropped plates wherever they could find space. Meanwhile we did not even touch our main dishes since they were not good. However, the desserts were quite good and worth the wait. The napoleon and Banana Riviera were great. They were out of cheesecake so we could not try it. Would I go back? Nope. Was happy to try it out but not returning.

Worst service experience I ever had in a fine dining establishment

By David R |

1. Before we got our menus the waiter wanted our order. No mention of a drink order 2. Seconds after our order, we got other people's salads, and we kept saying this isn't ours 3. Waiter had a serious attitude like he wanted to start a fight with me. We complained to the manager and were given free sodas. Note there is an 18% gratuity. 4. Ambiance was terrible. Almost like a diner. Very loud so you could not hear at your table. 5. We were done with our meal in 20 minutes. Manager was sympathetic and admitted to having had an argument earlier with the waiter. We were very disappointed but will likely try again. This time as a take out order.

Love at first sight!

I checked out this restaurant on a very busy night I was amazed to see that they managed it beutifull without any presume from the crowd. I went back for lunch the next day and enjoyed it again. Food was delicious and was served nice and quick.

Are you at the right restaurant?

By Yigal Y |

You and your wife together with another couple are going to dinner in a restaurant Which of the following issues you encounter will displease you the most? a. The restaurant has an austere interior void of any decor or flowers. b. There are several empty spacious tables open but you are ushered to a corner table with 2 walls blocking your view (not that there is a view anywhere) c. You are surprised to find that there is noisy birthday party in progress whose participants occupy the better half of the restaurant. d. To compensate for the noise from the party the volume of the background music is tuned so high the only way you can carry a conversation is shout. e. There are four of you at the table and the waiter brings a bread basket containing only 3 small rolls. f. The menu offer a pasta dish to which you can add salmon for n extra couple of bucks. But when you place the order for the pasta with the salmon the waiter tells you that pasta with salmon is only available for "Take Out", even thought the menu makes no mention what-so-ever of "Take Out". g. The food arrives but not all the cutlery. You have to get up and go to the bar to ask for cutlery since your 'server' is nowhere in sight. If none of items 'a' through 'g' trouble you, you are at the right restaurant.

A Great Place for Fish

By bigjoe56 |

The decor is crisp, clean and modern. We shared the Warm Halloumi Salad which was the best we ever tasted! My wife order the Sole Francais and I had the Corvina Santiago. The fish and side dishes were all excellent and fresh. We topped off the evening with Belgian Waffles and cappuccino. Overall it was a hit!

Fantastic

Dessert was divine. Really incredible. I would definitely go back at a quieter hour and try it again. Had two appetizers. They were both good.

Dinner

Brooklyn has lots of kosher dairy restaurants but Pescada takes its place in the number one position. The food was just amazing, tasty and beautiful displayed. The service was just great. I have finally found that dairy restaurant that I have been looking for and the price was right too.

I have been here twice with my best friend. Once for lunch and once for dinner. We had paninis, pizza and frappuccinos. Great service.

What's the hype about?

By E1972 |

The food here is decent- good (not great to amazing) and surely not worth the outrageous prices!!! If I am paying that kind of money, I expect a much better culinary experience than the average one it provides. Sorry Pescada.

Impeccable restaurant

Wow cant write enough words to describe this high end manhattan ambiance place!!! The service was top rate !! The food was out of this world delicious!!! In a nutshell this place is awarsome!!!

Used to be better

By Michael L |

We found the restaurant had as much noise, if not more, than always. Can't hear yourself speak. In the private party area it's better. We've been to both. The food isn't as good as the last time. I asked for Pescada fries and got regular fries. I know it's a little thing, but they count. They don't even refill your water unless you ask for it if you can find the waiter. Overall we weren't very happy. The wait staff is just plain wait staff. Don't really know much of what is being offered. Perhaps I'll attribute this to a "bad" night. But the noise itself keeps me from rushing back.

Pleasant ambiance and delicious food

By NLW333 |

I visited this restaurant with a friend and when walking in, my first reaction was 'wow'. The decor is very light and white, with some sea elements. The tables and chairs have a luxurious look and the whole interior had a nice calming, Mediterranean feel. The service was very good. Our waiter was patient and made recommendations and checked in with us regularly to see if we needed anything. I ordered a tuna steak, which came with sides. I wasn't too overwhelmed with the choices of sides, but I really liked the mashed potato. The fish itself was really good and done very well. Dessert had both of us swooning with delight. We had the Napoleon, which was a light dessert consisting of sweet pastry with layered with creme fraiche. Delicious is an understatement. Great restaurant- highly recommended.

Great Place To Eat Out!

By Lapuks |

The service was great. The food was awesome. Very unique dishes. We had a great meal. Loved the mushrooms!!!

A great time was had with family celebration, great food and wonderful service.

By estherp618 |

We came as a group of five cousins and celebrated two birthdays. The food choices were amazing. What was eaten Saturday night by us were pasta dishes, salads and we drank Pina Colada with wine, and milk shakes made with ice cream, but not ultra sweet. We did not taste the fish dishes. The only problem I had was the noise factor. There were several parties of ten of young individuals that were loud. Maybe during the weekdays would be quieter. Next time I go I'll try that out. The restaurant is clean. I suggest it as a great Brooklyn option. Nice ambience.

quick service. innovative menu

new location. courteous service. innovative food choices... great if you want to come with kids and you fancy a bustling ambiance.

Fancy Kosher in Brooklyn

By janetgool |

I tend to associate kosher dining in Brooklyn with pizza joints and hole-in-the-wall places serving kugel. What a pleasure to find an elegant dairy restaurant, beautifully decorated, with an interesting dairy menu including fish, past and salads.
