Had breakfast and lunch fare at 1pm

By BingM_073 |

There are times when you are hungry but want light food, but smaller portions are not possible. You can have it here. I ordered onion soup (very good) and the american breakfast.(My fault that I did not ask for the scrambled eggs to be on the runny side). But yes, good parking, good wifi, outdoor seating.

The waits will come, but don't like their coffee policy

By CUbeMan |

This is a new restaurant in what is going to be a hot area of town. Food is very good and parking is terrible. The wait staff have an appropriate combination of hipster angst and hippies running through a meadow of flowers. Slightly surprised the staff didn't wear their french berets. I mentioned to the one seating us that one of their customers had left their car light on...they replied 'guess I'll have to get out the megaphone' then didn't do anything about it. Regarding the coffee. I was there for brunch. They don't do refills of coffee for free. The first cup is $2.50 and refills are $1.00 thereafter. Or, you can get their 'bottomless cup' for $3.90. A) it's confusing especially since I hadn't had any coffee. B) it's brunch and you only get a cup of coffee? Cheapskates. Oh, and there's no substitutes on the menu. They did allow me to exclude an item (I have allergies). There are dozens and dozens of nearby places and many have a similar vibe and food qualit. Don't get me wrong it was good and I enjoyed myself. I guess if I was within walking distance I'd be back. But, I think I'll just keep trying all the other options.

Awesome Eats

I recently went to Petit Chou which turned out to be a totally delectable delight. I had the lemony chicken sandwich which was so delicious that I could’ve had three more. A friend of mine had the roast beef and it was so good that he ordered another one to take home for dinner. I would definitely recommend Petit Chou. The iced tea was a great delight. Try it and you will definitely ask for more. They also serve breakfast all day long so I will be back to try all of that.

Delightful dinner at Petit Chou

By Randall H |

Like a lot of our neighbors who live near the portion of Memorial Drive that runs through Cabbagetown, we have viewed Le Petit Chou as a French tinged place for breakfast and lunch. The menus have dishes with cheeky names and interesting flavors like the Petit Dejeuner Ville de Chou -- translated into English as the Cabbagetown breakfast -- featuring grits, cheddar cheese, and a poached egg. But the other night our niece, Kelly, was in town and we were looking for a neighborhood place where the food is good and conversation is a possibility. We asked our neighbor, Davina, to tag along and soon we were in industrial-style chairs (they explain their vision for them on their website) in a quiet corner enjoying the charcuterie board. The board included duck saucisson tinged with cardamom as well as slices of bresaola, air-dried beef tenderloin. There was a Swiss gruyere and two bries, including one that was ripe and flavorful. Also, there was a pot of roasted pepper hummus along with spears of pickled asparagus and pickled cherry tomatoes. With the charcuterie, we drank glasses of La Galope, Cotes de Gascogne, rose, richer in both color and body than it’s provincial neighbors. The list of entrees leans toward French classics turned out by Chef Garrett Wheeler. Kathy, whose appetite has still not rebounded from her recent hospital stay, chose to go light with a bowl of vegetarian French onion soup -- its crouton layered with melted gruyere. Kelly selected the roast chicken, always the hallmark of a good chef. The breast with crispy skin is marinated in lemon and thyme and sits atop a mound of buttery mashed potatoes. There were also pods of charred okra sprinkled with pepper flakes. Davina chose the boeuf bourgogne, fork tender chunks of beef in a sauce with pearl onions and red wine. It was both beefy and winey, just as you’d expect. I chose the duck a l’orange. This can be a real gamble because an orange sauce poorly done is just awful. No worries here, Chef Garrett, was up to the challenge. The breast of duck was seared crispy and then sliced to reveal the meaty medium rare meat. The orange sauce was light and sweet, but studded with slices of tangy pickled cherry. The breast was served over a round of creamy polenta. For my money, it was the best of the evening. With our entrees we drank glasses of Ch. La Cassidouce 2010. This wine, from Blye east of the city of Bordeaux, was light with smooth tannins. Its blend obviously began with cabernet sauvignon but there was a smoothness from the merlot and a hint of earthiness from cabernet franc. To finish we shared a tangy lemon bar as well as a chocolate mousse that reminded everyone of chocolate cookie dough. With our desserts we shared glasses of Pineau de Charentes, a fortified wine made with raw grape juice spiked with Cognac. The rouge, which we had, was sweet and delicious.

A real Jewel of a restaurant in the middle of Cabbagetown. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. I had the Sara-wich which was so delicious. This is definitely a place to go back to again and again.

Cute place for Brunch

By dotters |

A nice neighborhood place for Brunch. While it wasn't extraordinary, it was quite nice. The service was good. I had the French Toast with fruit. Tasty. My daughter had some egg concoction. She seems pleased. Drinks were fun. They get really busy, so come as soon as they open.

This is How to do Breakfast!

By Billy H |

I'm a breakfast snob. I make my own, and I'm pretty good at it. Petit Chou is better. We had the Avocado Toast with homemade boursin, and the Cabbagetown Breakfast Bowl. I was quite impressed - the chef understands grits, and the juxtaposition of salsa and poached made the Bowl very good. But get the Avocado Toast instead: we were blown away. It's an imaginative mix, and each bite is different. Outside dining is covered and very comfortable, by the way. Go!

Get the french toast

Small but nice spot for brunch. The french toast was delicious. The service is great. Come early because they get busy. Definitely recommend

We love everything about Petit Chou for breakfast and look forward to returning! We saw that they are now open for dinner .... yum.

So yummy place! Very friendly staff! I will come back again :)

This place was amazing, We had breakfast and lunch in here. The eggs Benedict and the avocado toast were so yummy. The staff is really friendly and the place is quiet, small and very clean. It is so European place! It seemed like I was in a French village with fine wine. I will definitely recommend this place. I will come back for that eggs Benedict :)

Great breakfast

By StevenHScher |

We met our friends & sat outside on the covered patio. It was early & there was a nice cool breeze. They have a very nice menu. Their bread & pastries are from Alon's bakery, & are absolutely delicious. I had the American breakfast ($10.75). It includes 2 eggs, either scrambled or poached, grits or potatoes, toast or biscuit, bacon or sausage. I had the poached eggs which I requested the white be firm, not runny, & the yolk runny. They are very small eggs & the white came a bit runny, hence the 4 not 5 star rating. The potatoes were just okay. The bread & bacon was delicious. Our server, Janai, was excellent. The raspberry cheese pastry ($4.95) my wife ordered was amazing. Be aware they charge extra, $.50, for butter or jam. We had a great eating experience. It was crowded by the time we left, so go early.

Absolutely Great Breakfast/Brunch

By Travelfar222 |

We went last month on a gift certificate from a friend. I ordered the chicken sausage biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. It was the best. My wife and her coworker ordered breakfast as well and enjoyed their food. My wife's coworker ordered Chai lattes and said they were the best she's had. The restuarant is small and very busy so you can expect a small wait for a table. We will definitely be going back.

Great local restaurant

Charming local eatery. Broad selection of entries. Love the Norwegian Salmon perfectly prepared, moist not over/under cooked.

Wonderful

Breakfast at the Petit Chou is wonderful. A great place for breakfast and lunch. Try the croquet monsieur sandwich, it is wonderful. My friend he loved the American breakfast, great to have a great breakfast place on Memorial Drive in Atlanta.

A beautiful down town spot in old Cabbagetown district of Atlanta

By YoginiKay |

What a delicious little spot for the best coffee and espresso along with fresh french bread, pate, breakfast meals or lunch. It was all wonderful. I especially enjoyed the Pate, made fresh by their own Chef Diana Eller. I plan to make this a regular stop on my way into work! They even have free parking! The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating for my picky needs.

My new favorite brunch/lunch place

By VirginiaMBTravel |

The food here is fresh and delicious. I haven't had anything here that I didn't love. Some of my favorites are: avocado toast, Sarah Witch sandwich, Lemony Chicken Sandwich. Great coffee and pastries also. Cute atmosphere and friendly servers. If their parking lot is full, you can also park in gravel lot across the street.

Good, not over-crowded brunch spot

By Smuckuss |

Finding a good weekend brunch spot that you don't have to wait an hour for can be difficult. I understand that if there is a long wait, typically it is worth it. But I'm of the opinion that I am going to a place to eat because I am hungry and not to stand around forever waiting to be seated. With that being said, I tried Petit Chou for the first time this past weekend. There was a bit of a wait, as expected, but definitely not too long. And considering it is a smaller restaurant I was happy to see the shorter wait time. Everything from the service, atmosphere, food and beverages were great. I had friendly interactions with multiple staff members both before being seated and while being served. The café has a rustic feel to it, with a bar in the middle and seats around the perimeter, as well as a patio with more seating. There was a good selection of both breakfast and lunch options on the menu. We had coffees, a croissant (in which they have a variety of options) and a couple dishes that were all delicious. The prices were very reasonable as well. We will definitely come back here.

Outdoor dining was great.

By 2001NH |

Outdoor dining was great. The cheese course was excellent - strawberry preserves a standout for sure! The rice pilaf stole the show. It came with the beef bourguignon - which was good - but the rice pilaf was incredible! Enjoyed the duck banh mi - with excellent stir fried veg on the side. Super enjoyable dinner. Excellent service!

Disappointing

By ATLTraveler1212 |

Unfortunately, our group of four was disappointed. Service was just okay…had to remind server to bring two of the items ordered. Breakfast bowl was certainly not “hearty” as described, as it was less than filling. And the eggs Benedict was kind of cold.

Excellent breakfast!

By CaptTrouble |

We went here for breakfast on a Friday morning. We were lucky enough to arrive when an SUV was leaving the parking lot and we grabbed their spot. Parking is limited. The tables outside were filling up as it was nice weather, and as the pollen count has been very high, we went inside. We were told to sit at any of the two person tables, so we went across the small room and sat down. It was great that we could get a seat right away as this restaurant is popular and not very big, with a bar in the center and the kitchen in back. The people were very friendly and we had a menu right away. I ordered the French Toast Creme Brûlée made from butter croissant soaked in heavy cream, whipped eggs, cinnamon with sugar, and butter topping. Served with real Vermont maple syrup, seasonal fruits and nuts, and house-made cinnamon vanilla bean whipped cream. ($13). My husband ordered the Cabbagetown Breakfast Bowl, which was potatoes topped with Tillamook Sharp Cheddar Cheese, a chicken sausage patty, poached egg, dressed arugula, and tomato concasse ($10.50). The French Toast was outstanding! I was afraid it would be too sweet, but it wasn’t. It was cinnamon and vanilla...and so delicate. The fruit and nuts were delicious. My husband’s breakfast bowl was good, and something I would normally order. I would definitely try the Liege Waffles now or anything on the menu. I was impressed at how clean the restrooms were. My parents always told me that the condition of the restrooms was a good indicator of how clean the kitchen was in any restaurant. I think they were right. The restaurant bills itself as French Southern style, and it is. It’s also neat that they named the restaurant “The Little Cabbage” as they are located in Cabbagetown. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful

We went the first Sunday they have been open and will be back. Great patio, great service and excellent food. My friend had their savory bread pudding and he said it was excellent. I had the French ham and cheese and it was wonderful. Great coffee.

Fantastic breakfast

By Maria G |

Fantastic breakfast at the Petit Chou. It was worth the drive I love my croque monsieur. It was the best. Yes it's a ham and cheese sandwich but It had mustard and melted cheese on top of the bread and I wish I had had 2. It was so delicious. The Grits Were the best I ever had in my life with cream cheese and butter.

Awesome!

A cozy place for a rendezvous with friends! Our gracious server, Ceylan, was very attentive and knowledgeable and easily explained, gave suggestions as she though we were the only guests! The food is fresh, tasty and service is fast. We enjoyed the Bravo toast, Merican bkfast & hot chocolate! Can't wait to dine there again.... it's now one of my favorites!

Family brunch

By Wonderingcountryboy |

I was thrilled to visit. Perhaps my expectations were set to high. Service was average. Food was ok. Nothing was OMG delicious! Drinks were not terrible, a little weak But with other amazing restaurants nearby this would be a good second option. It’s a dependable average restaurant.

Lighter fare, good coffee

By DougandJackie |

Stopped for lunch with friends in an area of Atlanta I haven't visited in years. Cabbagetown, Reynoldstown, Little 5 Points and the Beltline are all seeing quite a change in housing, retail and eateries. Petit Chou is a spot that features locally sourced foods, craft sodas and PERC coffees that appeal to millennials (I guess so, since they feature the recently decadent 'Avocado Toast'), but which might just be a bit fussy sounding for the "basic eats" crowd. Our group of 11 had no problem sitting around the counter (nicely rustic industrial feel) and we ordered the lemony chicken sandwich, which was very tasty but on the lighter side. The baguette was soft, not a crunchy chewy sort, which had a little trouble holding all the contents. But no problem just add it to the extra greens on the side. Coffee was delicious, since it was a cool and rainy afternoon; folks said the sodas and lemonade were good, but I found them a bit pricey. Service was polite and friendly, but the kitchen only sent out two orders at a time. By the time the last of us was served, the first of us had finished. That wasn't really the best way to do that. And it didn't seem to be slammed at the time, either. Outside seating looked inviting and there was a garden spot to enjoy, but again, the rain put a damper on that. Overall, not bad, just a bit pricey for the portions and a slow kitchen. The kind of spot you want to say you visited and the sort of spot you want to see succeed. THEEEE Best Coffee and perfect atmosphere

By YoginiKay |

Petit Chou has become my favorite morning spot with friendly faces brewing up fresh espresso and coffee. I stop by as often as possible to catch up on computer work while having my first cup of the day. Just love the fresh flowers, the garden next door and the light space to be comfortable in.

Amazing food and servers!

By CaptTrouble |

My husband and I went here for breakfast on Tuesday morning. The parking lot was full but we got the last spot. We dreaded the thought of a packed restaurant but it seemed that almost everyone was seated at the tables outside. We were able to sit at a table for two immediately, juts under one of the windows. It took our server a couple of minutes to get to us but she did greet us right away. It looked like there were two servers and they were running most of the time. I ordered coffee ($3) and cream and it was very good. My husband ordered the Ratatouille Bowl ($10.50) and a bowl of Onion Soup ($5.50). I ordered the Liege Waffles, an authentic yeasted Belgian Waffle with pearl sugar, fruit, nuts, Vermont Maple Syrup, and House Cinnamon-Vanilla Bean Whipped Cream ($13), and a side of Chicken Sausage ($2.75). My husband loved his Ratatouille: it had roasted squashes, sweet peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, onion, fine herbes, dressed arugula, shaved Parmesan, red onion, tomato concasse, and was topped with a poached egg. His Onion Soup was wonderful too, topped with Gruyere and crouton. I loved my waffle! It wasn’t too sweet, just rich and delicious. The chicken sausage was very savory and excellent. The Vermont Maple Syrup that comes with the Liege Waffle is darker and richer than the maple syrups in Wisconsin and Minnesota that I am used too; it is also not as sweet. I thought it was quite good. I look forward to eating here again! I LOVE French-Southern cuisine!

A Small Bistro for Lunch

A lovely lunch with attentive service at a cozy bistro. We ordered soup and sandwiches which were freshly made with quality ingredients and served quickly. All were enjoyable, especially the uniquely flavored iced tea.

Was downtown this evening and had the pleasure of dining at this quaint out of the way restaurant. It was their first dinner service since the reopening. Everything was socially proper and the service was impeccable. My tenderloin with mushrooms and wonderfully prepared potato mash rocked. Don’t miss this hidden gem!

Great brunch

Absolutely delicious, but coffee was bitter. Just the right amount of food. Yummy biscuits, great poached eggs and excellent potatoes. Want to go back again.

Southern Breakfast with French Twist

Superb local southern breakfast with a French twist. Everything was terrific - from sweet to savory.

Great Breakfast

By soitgoes14 |

This place is small, and parking can be difficult due to the lot filling up. If it is nice outside seating gets easier as they have tables outside. The inside fills up fast. Make sure to check the bar as a lot of times you can get a seat at the bar more quickly than waiting on a table. The coffee was good. We were there for breakfast and I had the Croque Madame. Excellent! Loved the Dijon mustard and the salty ham. It was one of the better ones I’ve had in the States. My wife got the Liege Waffles the house cinnamon vanilla bean whipped cream was so GOOD. You may want to ask if you can have it on the side though as you get a lot of it. The waffle itself was good. Loved this place. If we lived closer I’d try to go much more often. Its worth getting up and going to for a weekend breakfast for sure.

Birthday Breakfast

Took our team to Petit Chou for the first time, for a birthday breakfast. The atmosphere was great, the menu small but on point and the food was pretty good. I have the avocado toast, which was excellent albeit a little rich. We will definitely return.

Gourmet Food Find! With Liege Waffles!

By trippweave |

We stumbled on Petit Chow while staying at a nearby AirBnB, it's a small stand alone building with great art on the side that drew us. Turns out they are mostly a daily breakfast place (7 am to 3 pm) with two nights serving dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. We checked out their dinner menu and had a delightful talk with the two chefs setting up the evening meal. We went back the morning we were leaving for their liege waffles! We've had liege waffles once before in Portland, Oregon, so were very excited Petit Chow is known for this Belgian pearl sugar waffle! Breakfast was a delight, with good orange juice, delicious food at a reasonable price. It was a cold day and inside was warm, friendly, and comfortable.Be sure to go if you are in Atlanta!
