Another amazing Division eating experience. The breakfast was superb. I had corned beef hash, which was tasty but not too filling, and my partner had eggs en cocotte, which was divine! Free refills on the coffee were definitely appreciated too! Well worth a visit.

So I have been coming to this location for over 5 years and the last two visits have been very disappointing...I too am in the service industry and know the importance of great customer service it saddens my heart to see the change that this location has taken I noticed it last time I was here as well ... They hired a new assistant supervisor I think his name is Deante' he seemed alright when I met him the first time oh I should probably mention I am considered a 'regular' there which means that I know everyone's name and visa versa I tip generously and treat the staff with respect so to meet the 'new guy' I guess I kinda expected it to me a nice experience... Unfortunately that was not the case ... I stopped coming in and have frequented other small businesses instead ... Well today I decided to stop in again after what seems like several months and was welcomed by various staff members with smiles and greetings ... There was no line so I waited for my turn to be put on the list or be seated ... Approximately ten minutes after I was waiting and ignored by Deante' one of the staff asked if I was still waiting and quickly seated me ... I guess my point is this ... Customer loyalty is what helps keep a business in business and hiring staff that are disrespectful to the customer as well as peers effects the environment... I would highly suggest reevaluating this guys employment with the restaurant.

This place does not disappoint - neither the food, speed of preparation/delivery nor the service. What to have is the hardest part - whatever you chose, it will be a generous portion of something well-prepared and delicious: I had the Cheesy Polenta with bacon and poached eggs (some toast would have been nice, come to think of it) and my husband had the Courntryman's Breakfast of pork steak, potatoes and eggs cooked to order. Oh, and a flight of Bloody Marys - nice! And don't miss the bakery side - the pastries are so beautiful, just like in Paris!

Suggest you make reservations for this place as it's very busy. The service was a bit slow but the place was packed. Place was very noisy. If the weather is nice, you may want to take a table outside so you can hear each other. The food was above average but the atmosphere drags it down.

wonderful

Had a late breakfast, and it was wonderful! Lots of great food, loved the croissants.

I really loved this place. I have been to France quite a few times and while I never found a breakfast place there with this kind of food - I love the food and atmosphere at Petite Provence. The croissants were to die for - now those were like Provence! The raspberry jam was home made & killed my diet. My scrambled eggs were fluffy and good - I truly could not eat all the food. Coffee good too! When I go back to Portland I'll be sure to go to Petite Provence. Cheaper than a trip to Aix!

We had breakfast twice here on our trip. The first time with our friend and guide. The best breakfast, great coffee, reasonably priced. Great outdoor seating, outstanding baked goods.

OOOOOOH the Pasteries are to DIE FOR!!!

Decent, slightly expensive breakfast.

Listen people: you want authentic french pastries? You want them fresh? You want a professional establishment in which to eat an incredible breakfast? THIS IS IT! It may take a small wait, but it's well worth it. Large, fresh, warm fruit muffins as a choice to accompany your breakfast. Service is very professional. Breakfast is wonderful. The flavors are right on. But you want to treat yourself big time - eat a few of the fresh pastries available at the counter. I lived in Paris, I am an executive chef and I tell you - the pastry here is the best in 25 years in the USA!! Go - drool - eat - savor!

Very nice place; confortable and with a tastefull presentation. Very good service; atentive and pronto. But the Colette Omelette was only fair; same the coffe. A little better was the Salmon Hash.

Third time we've eaten here and it continues to amaze and satisfy. Two of my family had the wonderful salmon hash, again rave reviews. I had the risotto cakes with poached eggs...really good. We look forward to returning to Petite Provence, and go to their other locations. Their baked goods are phenomenal, what a place!

Went here for lunch. They serve breakfast until 3 pm and one of us ordered a delicious breakfast. Rest of us ordered from their lunch menu. Place was packed when we got there, but did not have to wait long for a table. Service was great, food delicious, and place had a classic French ambiance. Desserts were amazing! Loved this place! Wish we had one in South Florida!

we returned here with 2 friends, and began with a session lager, an ameretto sour, and 2 shared a bordeaux from france. next we shared escargot, a cheese plate, steelhead, roughy dish, tuna nicoise, quinoa with asparagus....all were delicious...our friends had french onion soup, veggie white bean soup, cornish game hen, beef medallions, and beet salad....they loved their dishes...for dessert, they had chocolate trio, and a monkey love....another dessert was ordered, don't recall which one....excellent staff, efficient, and friendly....

My husband and I (middle aged, we often eat out and are respectful and decent people) went to Petite Provence on Division for a little dinner before picking kids up from soccer. We have often been to the Petite Provence on Alberta for lunch and breakfast, and although their vegetarian selections are minimal, they are willing to offer alternatives or make suggestions. Plus for breakfast or lunch, it's alright to have a croissant or baguette sandwich or the like. Our experience last night was so disappointing. After searching the dinner menu for ANYTHING vegetarian, which there was not ONE item without meat or fish, we asked the waitress if there are any vegetarian options available which are not on the menu, or if there are ways to modify menu items. She said I could have a croissant sandwich. I told her that's not really what I had in mind for dinner, but could I have a salad without meat if they could take the meat off their menu salads? No. "You can't leave the chicken breast off of one of the salads?" "No, but you could have the salmon salad, that's vegetarian." I mentioned that we are vegetarian, that we don't eat fish. She stood there and looked at us, shrugged her shoulders, and had nothing more to say. We asked her one more time if there was anything they could do for us, and she said, "Nope", so we left. THIS IS PORTLAND!!! Restaurants here are competitive, every restaurant offers at least one vegetarian menu option, and no restaurant I know allows a customer to just walk out because they cannot serve a salad without a chicken breast on top of it! Besides, this is a French restaurant--what about a salad with Chevre? ANYTHING? Green or veggie salad with NOTHING? Nope. There were only two other tables seated, so this wasn't a situation of the kitchen being slammed and simply unable to accommodate another customer. The waitress was just simply unwilling to accommodate us. We overheard the table near us complaining to perhaps a manager about their pork, so perhaps it was a good thing that we were refused service. Petite Provence's baked items are wonderful, and we enjoy them immensely, on Alberta. We will never never go back to the one on Division.

There are wonderful servers at this location (Shane is the best... wow) but the rest are pretty mediocre... be prepared to beg for service and pour your own coffee... but... the food is great, the menu selection is terrific (the small plates are awesome) and the experience is an overall excellent value... Paper napkins which are disappointing... we bring our own cloth napkins in and will continue to do so... The baked goods are wonderful... Please give it a try and let the rest of us know what you think!

While my wife and I were visiting in Portland, a local friend recommended the Petite Provence Boulangerie and Patisserie, which has the ambiance of a traditional French neighborhood restaurant. The restaurant is part of a family-owned small chain of French-themed restaurants/bakeries. My wife, our friend and I enjoyed very tasty meals. My dinner choices included a cup of French onion soup ($4.25) and the braised Lamb Shank ($14). The lamb was fork-tender and served with delicious potatoes. The three of us each ordered a glass of French wine and we felt as though we indeed were sitting inside a bistro in France. (If only the background music had been French and not Frank Sinatra!) The cost of our meals was very reasonable -- only $52 for the three of us. On the far side of the dining room and adjacent to the entrance was a French bakery. Oooh, la, la... there were so many tempting goodies within the display cases. Unfortunately we were unable to return to Petite Provence for breakfast, so we never sampled the bakery goods. Next time... "Traveling the world one meal at a time..."

While looking for a place for lunch, we found this lovely little spot. The food was wonderful. What a find!

We visit Portland at least twice a year to see our daughters. The trip would not be complete without stopping here, at one of our favorite French restaurants anywhere. Love the overall atmosphere, service is excellent and the food is even better. My sandwich had an Italian sausage in it that was hard to beat. I usually order different things each time, for variety's sake, but this is one entre I would get again!

Although the breakfast menu is fairly small, the food and coffee and very good. Service was excellent. Amazing array of delicious pastries (including the best cheese danish I've ever had!) Wish I lived close enough to go here regularly!

I have been a breakfast addict of Petite Provence on Division Street since it opened years ago. They have croissants with crisp light meaning in chocolate and almond filling. Berry tarts magnificent and delightful and pleasant warm breakfasts such as savory french skillets and salmon eggs Benedict. But recently their quality has slipped with some obvious cost cutting on their pastries. Once famous for authentic chocolate bars within croissants now contain chocolate chips and are 35% smaller. While breakfast plates contain less peppers and more potatoes. Not withstanding I am still a fan but just a little less of one. As I recently saw they obtained a liquor license and hosted a dinner menu I wanted to give them a chance at success probably reminiscent of prior year excellence. So my husband and I wandered in this Saturday night. The evening should be comedic if the bad taste still didn't resonate in my pallet. Lights all too bright and cafeteria like I noticed an overwhelming amount of seniors who were 75 years plus. I found it a little odd that they and we were the only patrons. Ordering a Bordeaux I waited for my salad which was more like a Denny's delight decorated with American cheese shavings on top of my "fresh garden greens" eek how pase! Then came my Baked stuffed salmon with was dry and bursting with stove top style stuffing that had all but one lonely microscopic shrimp. As the plate was set with saffron rice that was overcooked and mushy it was all overshadowed by giant asparagus. My husband pork medallions were large flat and cardboard like as he maneuvered the same rice and asparagus which was large and rubbery with a foul taste about them! What a mistake! Maybe if the lights were dimmed a bit the horror wouldn't have been so visible. Too bad I love the owner and still pine for those authentic chocolate croissants with bar chocolate buried inside. Maybe it is time for me to return to Paris because it sure has gone far from Portland Oregon!

Went there with my grown daughter and had a delicious brunch with fantastic Bloody Mary/s. Great menu and food. A little slow. My daughter had to send her food back twice as she is vegetarian and asked for no ham. But they finally got it right and they didn't charge for half our food. Just make sure you are not in a hurry.

Drove down to Portland for service on my motorcycle and this bakery/restaurant was across the street. I did not try the restaurant but will on the next trip down so this review is only on the French bakery. OMG it is good. Try any of the pastries they're all awesome. i always go for the croissant and also tried a fruit tart, both delicious. After the bike was serviced i went bak and bought a loaf of sourdough and a blackberry tart. I really like this bakery

We have been there for dessert! They are to die for! Stop by in the morning and their case is full of croissants, sweet rolls and pastries. It is hard to choice, but you can't go wrong! Yum!

Petite Provence gets 5 stars for its croissants, which are out-of-this-world delicious. The rest (also excellent) is just gravy Excellent coffee, nicely done egg dishes (I had an Alsatian omelet), and great service. My wife had the oatmeal brûlée, which she loved. It’s a smallish restaurant, and you’re likely to stand in line. But there’s a line because it’s worth it! Highly recommended for a French style breakfast or brunch.

Great atmosphere, fresh croissants, excellent coffee and a delicious selection of breakfast entrees make this my family's favorite breakfast/brunch spot in Portland. The portions are large and come with fresh baked sides. There is outdoor seating along Division. The staff is efficient and friendly. It can be busy, but the self serve coffee, a tasting tray from the bakery and admiring the beautiful creations in the bakery make the wait go by quickly. This is a great spot for couples, friends and families with kids and babies. I highly recommend The Petite!

We were on a walk one day and walked by this café and it was packed out. It looked really cute so we thought we'd try it out. The food is delicious and the service is superb. It's in a wonderful location and we enjoyed sitting outside. I had eggs Benedict on a croissant which was fabulous, my husband had an omelette and my daughter had the chipotle chicken sandwich. Everyone loved their meals. You can substitute fruit for the potatoes. I highly recommend this restaurant

I've visited this great spot a few times but never often enough. Today I enjoyed the banana french toast, which was decadent and spot on. Had to take a few things to go. Can't wait to return! The warm ambience is a perfect setting, too.

to be clear and honest... we are normal people... eat out often and kind of know what's what in the restaurant environment... also, this place has been one of our favorites... even when they used paper napkins which they have fixed but WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO THIS GREAT PLACE!!! Let's begin with the food... the menu listing for the cuisine is interesting and alluring but the prep is right out of the college cafeteria... the pork shank is dry and shouldn't be... the lamb is over cooked and shouldn't be... the bread is uninteresting... the chicken is way overdone to the point of being embarrassing and the service is unprofessional. We miss the old staff... My wife encouraged me to send the dish back but I didn't... the day after the night before I should have sent it back... A REQUEST TO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE THAT ARE GOING THERE ANYWAY - IF THE FOOD ISN'T GOOD DON'T EAT IT! SEND IT BACK, I FEEL LIKE A FOOL FOR NOT DOING SO! Just a quick work about the bill... we thought that the food prices were "fair", in consideration of the quality the food is probably over priced

I love this place! Consistently good food and service. I had the risotto cakes with poached eggs and it was very good and of course they have the best butter croissants served with raspberry jam. Top it all off with a perfect latte complete with a design in the foam and you're all set! I will continue to go back again and again!

Petite Provence is east of downtown Portland. We ate breakfast there and were very happy with our meals. Everything has a French twist to it and the service was excellent. The portions are not huge but certainly more than enough. I wasn't able to finish my muffin and took it on the plane home with me. The bakery looked amazing and if I hadn't had that muffin to take with me I certainly would have tried some pastry as everything looked very fresh and mouth watering.

Up until today, I had stopped in Petite Provence for tea and treats in the late afternoon. This morning, around 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., I showed up with a friend for breakfast. I chose a kind of oatmeal that was distinct to this restaurant. I had never had anything like it and I loved it! It was a brulee -- with a sweet crust baked on top. While it's not a cheap joint, if you choose carefully, you can get quite a bit of food. The service was O.K. My friend had coffee, and we lost count of the number of times workers came over to offer him another cup. At some point, it became an annoyance to be interrupted every five minutes. We came there to talk, after all! Overall, the place was busy, and it was a bit difficult to maneuver the chairs and space when the place is full, but we had a good time, and there's a warm festive vibe to the decor this time of year.

Disappointing relative to our visits 10 years ago. Very limited entrees. Eclair was partially frozen. Napoleon was not as it should be.

This is a great place for breakfast. The service is amazing and the bakery has excellent stuff Thank you for a great morning

I first want to say that after my previous visits to this location I was heartsick that a place so lovely and charming could get so tainted .... I am thrilled to update my review and say that there were changes made and that things are back to the way they were only better;) I stopped in again after my review basically because I love the place and the great staff they have there and was pleasantly surprised to see the negativity was gone the staff seemed like their old selves and the food is still amazing !!! So glad things got turned around!!! Thank you to the management tea and the hard working staff for turning my frown upside down!!! Cheers!!! 😊

The food was specific, i can't say is bad, because it is tasty, but specific ... i enjoyed the coffe and desert, you can find the same cake as in your favourite store, but you'll never find so good amd delicious macaron desert as here! Thank you guys for being so good and continuing make us happy with your french desert!

It was definitely the best breakfast I had in my life( and I had a few). The croissant was tastier that anything I had in Paris, the omelette was fabulous and the "Creme de la creme" was a rhubarb mimosa simply spectacular. We also had the French Toast with strawberries and blueberries. All this happiness cost only 40 $ for 2 people and together with an incredible warm and professional service made me regret that we don't have anything similar back home, in CT.

And the italian bread is perfect! I only wish the pastry discriptions on the menu matched what you actually get. The waiter was great, but busy and so service was a little slow. This is a French restaurant and should be more leisurely as the french like it. We tend to be to more in a rush here. I plan to go back for breakfast asap!

One of our favorite experiences is walking the mile or so from home to Petite Provence for a lovely breakfast....with our Westie. Petite Provence has outdoor tables that allow them to serve diners who arrive with their canine companions and do so in comfort. The street is busy, but it's an interesting, vital busy that does not interfere with the delight we take in trying different breakfast items on lovely Portland mornings. The Wild Northwest Salmon Hash is an absolute delight and the Caramelized Banana French Toast is a treat to be cherished. The wait staff are professional, yet friendly and we've eaten here for a number of years with never a hitch nor stumble on their part.

Consistently good service and food, great atmosphere! The perfect place to take someone for a special occasion, although maybe not this location for a big group as it's a little crowded. Lovely food, lovely service! This trip I had the burger with potato salad, my sis had a croque monsuier. Iced caramel mocha and to go treats from the bakery. A favorite we return to again and again! I've been to every location of Petite Provence, even The Dalles and they are all a wonderful treat! The breakfast egg and ham sandwich on croissant is heaven and less than $5.

I was there on a Sunday for lunch. I went there b/c I heard really good things about brunch and breakfast from here. Unfortunately we got there after b-fast b/c that is what I was looking forward to. Anyway I had a pasta dish which was very bland. It had a lot of grilled veggies that was oily but not tasty.I didn't like it b/c it was very bland.

I have gone to all of their locations, and this one is the closest to where we live, that is nice, because I like to take friends who have never tried this restaurant before out for breakfast. Every friend I have taken to any of their locations, are impressed!!! I love the French décor it makes you feel like you are in a café in Paris, (been there and need to go back). The food is not disappointing, and if they are busy, I don't mind waiting, (but this location is also easy to get a table). You will have many choices, but will find your favorite, and like me probable order it again, and again....

We visited Portland in August and went here for brunch. Each of us had something different and all were outstanding. We were so pleased we went back in September. Try the banana walnut French Toast - it is amazing. My wife loved the risotto cakes.

Great new chef in Lake Oswego! Great desserts Can’t wait for new location on east side to open! Their pastas, salads and entree selections are good. Really good coffee with dessert and the ambiance was nice and relaxing.

The bakery section is a work of art... if you can imagine it, they offer it, as French pastries go. The whole place reminds me of all the little corner patisseries all over Paris. Very authentic. The service is friendly, accommodating and efficient. The menu is somewhat varied, though it would be nice to see a few more vegetarian offerings, other than just a vegie croissant sandwich. The coffee is delicious and a simple croissant with their house raspberry jam is about the best little meal one can have. The space is a little loud and could use some noise reducing panels on the ceiling, especially during the lunch hour, but that's a minor issue. This little place is pretty popular and will more than likely find it necessary to expand before long... it's a great fit for the Division neighborhood.

Best breakfast I have found in P. town. Fresh and flavorful! Try their specials of the day, the chef is always coming up with new pallate pleasers.

Perfect beignets! My mouth is watering just thinking about them!

We had eaten dinner nearby at the Zilla Sake House and after window shopping our way down Alberta Street, we found ourselves in need of a chocolate hit and coffee. The Petite Provence was right on target for both items. The establishment is large and airy as the street windows roll up to make an open air environment which was great for the Portland summer night. My Mocha was created by a magician—no way could a barista have created this masterpiece!

Their marionberry papillon and pear tart were so delicious, and surprisingly well-priced. I will return!

Amazing and unique food that I can enjoy often. Their pastry selection is the best I’ve ever seen and tried. I forgot the waiters name but she knew how to serve customers. She was very attentive and understood our request without having to make a second request. Terrific job! I will definitely be back.

My husband, daughter and I had a lovely brunch at Petite Provence. We sat outside on a nice day. I had eggs Benedict which was on a croissant, my husband had an omelet and my daughter had a sandwich. The service was excellent and the food could not have been better. You can substitute a fruit salad for the potatoes which are really good. We all enjoyed our meal.

Yum! That one word sums up my experience at Petite Provence. My friend and I had about a 15-minute wait, but the cafe provides samples of their pastries and coffees to enjoy the wait. The atmosphere and the food transported me to a nice Sunday brunch. The Salmon Hash was more delicious than the name suggested. The flavor was great and I'm glad I did not let the name scare me away. The croissant was buttery and soft. If you do try the hash, split the meal. The amount given is a huge portion that two people can eat along with a croissant and coffee.

Love this place and go often for breakfast or brunch. Service is great. Fresh made french bakery. We always get the salmon hash but have tried almost everything on the menu. Can't go wrong.

The atmosphere and food is all totally authentic but not kitschy Parisian. Convenient location on SE Division. Their brunch/breakfast is perfect with many choices, and they serve breakfast through mid-afternoon. I always order the eggs benedict, which is classic and cooked to perfection. Service is friendly and efficient. It is hard to resist pasty to go, as they have a full French bakery on site. Including a low window so the little ones can see the kids' pastries, so beware if you are there with children. The only little nit that I have is that the tables wobble, but they are helpful about putting shims in, but maybe they should just fix them in a more permanent way. They also have one in Lake Oswego, which is the same excellent quality, and apparently one in Bend also. You cannot go wrong here.

This is one of our favorite French restaurants anywhere. We also love the bakery and overall atmosphere. The service is excellent and the meals are delicious. I loved my Monte Christo sandwich, thoughtfully and beautifully prepared, with a little jam on the side, and accompanied with a nice salad. The drink was a yummy screwdriver. We bought our daughters a loaf of olive bread to take home. Our friendly server even wished us a happy Bastille Day! (I had forgotten) It's our go-to French restaurant in Portland.

Girlfriend wanted to gather a bunch of former co-workers for a Sunday brunch & found this place on Yelp. Long wait, but a beautiful day, so we were okay catching up with each other while cooling our heels on the Division sidewalk. Started with Bloody Mary's and Mimosas-all good; very friendly waitstaff. I ordered the Croque Monsieur and another friend ordered the Monte Cristo. I've had both sandwiches in other French restaurants, and these did not measure up. Neither one of us finished our entrees. Others at the table seemed to enjoy their food, but quite frankly, I was there for the company, so it didn't ruin my morning. The server was gracious to split the check, but put another friend's coffee on my bill. I said it was no big deal & I would go ahead and pay for it rather than have things redone. So my friend offered to buy me a pastry before we left. Thought that was a great idea as I could take something home to my husband who was doing yard work that day. The pastry case is lovely-overflowing with beautifully presented petite cakes, cookies, and artisan breads. The swan-shaped cream puffs are so clever! I ordered a walnut carmel tart for the hubby (two of his favorite ingredients). He dug into it as soon as I got home and didn't finish it. Said the flavors were a little 'off'. I tasted it, and it did have a weird backnote (rum extract?). So, to sum it up - loved the location & the service. The food was pretty, but nothing special. I'd check out other choices in Portland before I would return here.

Stop in for a fresh crusty loaf, a decadent pastry, or stay for a fabulous meal! My favorite is the tuna melt which is anything but ordinary! The onion soup is a meal unto itself! Bon appetit!

Really French, down to the accent on the waiter, who is very friendly and with it. The pastries here are to die for and eating breakfast in an atmosphere reminiscent of a Parisian cafe doesn't hurt. The food is always clean and it's bright so you can see what you are eating.

I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years, but today was my last visit. You cannot treat people differently because of their race, skin color, age, etc... its against the law and violates a person's civil rights. Shame on you!

we wanted a bite before going to a political event...we began with the Kronenberg 1664 lager, yum, as it was hot...next, we each had the Wild Sockeye Salad...Our house salad blend layered with French green lentils and fresh grilled wild Sockeye salmon filet topped with a dollop of fresh basil pesto. ...the best, and so fresh...our server was so friendly and quick...

I go here several times when visiting Portland. The food is delicious especially the French onion soup but the pastries are to die for. Their common is the best I've ever had and I've had a lot as my mom was a baker. So much to choose from and all so delicious.

This restaurant is in an older neighborhood that is turning to upscale, as the NW 23rd and Hawthorne neighborhoods did. Nice atmosphere and clean, with a variety of interesting menu choices. Reasonable prices.

food was pretty good and the pastries are even better.

Having eaten in a number of sidewalk cafes in Paris - I would have to say that this brought all of those memories home. It was like walking into a little bit of Paris. The food was wonderful - the Salmon salad was soooo fresh and delicious! The selection of meal items and pastries was exceptional. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgable and brought the food to us quite quickly. I don't live in Portland - but I will definitely put this on my list to return to the next time I am in town.

While I've been here for lunch, breakfast is my favorite. They do an amazing salmon hash (I always get my eggs poached) and my husband gets their Meurette Benedict (delish but a bit oniony). They also have amazing teas and cocktails. A blue cheese onion loaf caught our eye so we took one to-go. Very very good.

We were a party of 8 who came at dinner time. Everything was very good and prices were fair, but the service was slow. But that could partly be because of our large group, the place was busy and they only had two servers. There were only two options on the menu for gluten free and I wish there had been more. I had the beet salad to start, which was very good and then the salmon and risotto. I really enjoyed the salmon, but the risotto was so rich in cheese, cream and butter that it didn't sit well with me the whole night because of my digestion health issues. If I ever come back here again. I will just get a larger portion of the beet salad with a chicken breast added. The desserts were very pretty but I found the lemon graffiti way too sweet for me.

Arrived early on a Sunday morning and glad I did. I was alone ut never made to feel as if I needed to hurry. Had the corned beef hash which was very good, came with a croissant which was amazing! The service was good if a lil slow but they were busy. My main complaint would be the people waiting for tables (and there are many) stand and stare at the people eating haha. Was a little disconcerting. The pastry selection was primo and wish I had some room for a little sweet!

We went to Petite Provence for the first time and know it is a new "favorite restaurant" for us. The food is delicious, the service efficient and very friendly, the setting a little taste of a Parisian Bistro.

My son and family took me here for a birthday celebration although busy and crowded (small location) the service and food was delicious and at a reasonable price. I had the vegetarian croissant-the sandwich fillings were great-it came with a very fresh and tasty salad. The rest of the group were equally satisfied with their meal.

These guys even nailed the perfect eggs Benedict! The bear claw melted in my mouth! The coffee was perfect! It was worth the wait!

i like the coconut oatmeal and all of their pastries, coffee, and proximity to my house!

So…this place has decided to change over to a "small plates" place for dinner. Okay. That might be good…except it wasn't. At all. We were served stale bread, and after pointing that out to our waitress, she said, "Oh, I'm sorry, but that's our bread for tonight." This is a bakery mind you, that bakes its' on bread. Next we received a tasteless fried calamari dish that was worthy of Long John Silver's; all breading, no flavor, or texture to the fish. Simply awful. All the time we are trying to eat, they were blasting blues shuffle music above us, which is perfect for a loud singles bar, but not what anyone wants during dinner. This is a french place right? It was odd. It was weird. it was our last time to visit.

The pastries...Mmmm!

We eat Petite Provence in The Dalles every Friday and are never disappointed with the food. The breakfast menu isn't huge, but offers something for everyone along with a selection of fresh made pastries and breads (e.g., croissant and jam). This is the nicest place to grab a coffee in The Dalles -- you really do feel like you are in France :)

The only problem with this place is deciding what to choose! The selection of mouthwatering pastries was drool inducing, the only limit is the size of your stomach!

Beautiful space and gorgeous pastries. We had brunch and cocktails and I'd love to go again to try more good things.

Super nice servers, great variety of foods, coffees, pastries. Serving 3 meals daily. Consistently high quality.

Food was fresh and well prepared. Servers we pleasant and on point.tables were little close but that gave me better visuals on the food being served

Great food and service with a true coffeehouse- sit and stay feel! Such a fun time. Fresh food and the croissant was amazing. What a treat for a min and daughter weekend!

This is our favorite French restaurant in Portland. My title says it all: relaxed, tasteful, comfortable, yet with an unforced, non-ostentatious air of casual elegance. The small bakery has many tempting mouth-watering treats. We went there for brunch. I was traveling that day, and didn't want a large meal on the way to the airport: so I ordered a cream cheese croissant from the bakery, plus a chocolate brioche and a sunset orange juice, and we ate in the dining room. All so good! I thought the croissant was exceptional. My 3 companions all had more 'brunchy' items from the regular menu; all of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience. When I'm in Portland and I want a French bistro, this is where I go. (Although I saw a new French restaurant just down the street...)

Kids demanded we return. Toasty meltinyourmouth croissants with every breakfast. Fresh, large portions of everything. Energetic staff. Great cross section of families, couples and groups of friends. Low prices (compared to Northeast).

Small with quaint and lovely French country decor. Bakery probably wonderful, but we didn't try. Needed a quick but substantial lunch before catching plane, preferably with some memorable atmosphere . PP was exactly right. Daughter had veggie croissant sandwich (avocado!) and I had the salmon/dill quiche with upgrade to French onion soup. These were just perfect. Quiche piece was large and the soup delicious. Daughter loved her sandwich. Waiter, Shane, was attentive and helpful; we were served promptly and caringly!

Petite Provence is a great little French bakery tucked away on Division with delicious pastries and a wonderful breakfast and lunch menu. For breakfast., the chef's omelet specials are tasty and filling, and include a potato cake as well as a pastry (try the chocolate muffin!). We also love the berry French toast that has a delicious seasonal berry compote. The lunch menu has a variety of great soups and sandwiches. Of course the true highlight are the desserts, one could spend hours looking at the case of treats! Even though the bakery seems a little more "Parisian" than "Provençal", this is a wonderful slice of France right here in Portland. Highly recommended.

Great coffee, outstanding pastry (samples refreshed as you wait, the place is popular especially on a holiday weekend) and great food. More than an ordinary breakfast it made our first meal out on this Portland visit memorable. The Daybreaker with pork and apple sausage and a fresh croissant, I'll be back as it was so enjoyable to eat.

There are four of these restaurants, and we found this one by accident on the GPS (we thought we were going to the one on Alberta). What a lovely place. Small and cozy. Delicious small plates to share. Deserts are wonderful! I'd come back just for desert. Wait staff very friendly and informative. Glad we found this one. Will be back.

A fabulous bakery as one would find in France. Fresh and farm to table food. A wonderful vibe of energy by the staff but one is not rushed. It's a destination for food. There are also wonderful samples which tempt you to be even more decadent while dining.

We went here for a hearty breakfast, and everyone in our group was very happy. I had the cheesy polenta, bacon and eggs, and loved it - an unusual and delicious choice. The restaurant is a bit small, so we had to wait to be seated. While waiting, we loved drooling over the beautiful baked goods int eh display cases.

I love this place. Something for everyone. Great breakfast, great pastry, bring some perfect desert home. You just can't go wrong (ok, the coffee is so, so). Honestly, stop by, you wont be disappointed.

Worst cappuccino I have ever had. Absolutely bland and burnt. Rude service from staff. Nice looking establishment.

Went to the Division Street location Saturday before 10am. Was seated right away even though it was nearly full. Was skeptical about the Salmon Hash but so many people recommended it I went ahead and ordered. So good! Most definitely would have again. Friendly staff, clean, and great service. No complaints. Coffee drink with alcohol was delicious.

My boyfriend and I were hankering for some breakfast, so we headed over here right after our flight since it was listed as one of the eats we needed to check out. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but we opted to just sit at the bar since it was the first available option. The bartender was nice, courteous and got our orders in a timely manner. My boyfriend had gotten the chorizo hash scramble, which came with black refried beans, while I had gotten the west cost benedict. He really enjoyed how the chorizo was spicy but then was countered with the cilantro crème fraîche to make the perfect blend. I also enjoyed how the benedict was served with a croissant instead of an English muffin; I feel like it gave it much more flavor! All in all, it was a great first stop to eat at Portland!

The food was good, I had the NW Salmon salad. My frustration was with the service, they seemed a bit overwhelmed and it was hard to get their attention. The pour of wine was minuscule for $10 a glass. When I mentioned something they said they’d fix it and basically brought me back the same amount without adding more lol. Just know that if you get a glass of wine it’ll only be maybe 1/4 full for $10!

This was a lucky find - thanks to the staff at the Crown Plaza. Wonderful atmosphere for dinner and breakfast, great food, super friendly staff. The breakfast omelet was great - and the pastries are as good as they look. The latte was great, and the juice fresh squeezed. Dinner - small plates to be shared - seemed to confuse some tables, but lots of families and ladies in sharing and seeming to enjoy themselves. The atmosphere seems perfect for a place at the lake, and there is plenty of attentive service, including one of the owners bussing tables. We had breakfast and dinner, and he was working both shifts. We'll be back here every time we go to Portland. It's just far enough out of town, and feels like a resort.

I went here twice, as it was highly recommended and enjoyed by local friends. The desserts are expensive and delicious. Breakfast was disappointing, including the coffee. I had eggs benny with smoked salmon. The friend potatoes had been under a warmer for too long, and making a croissant soggy with hollandaise sauce isn't really that appetizing. The eggs and salmon were delicious flavours, but there was no Wow factor for my breakfast. The service was very nice.

Having eaten at Petite Provence on Alberta Street a few years ago, I was looking forward to trying the site on Division Street on a recent visit to Portland. Since I travel a lot on business, I am used to dining alone and simply ask that I be treated the same as parties of 2, 4 or whatever. There was a bit of an attitude from the server that I was a bother and taking him away from whatever important duties he was attending to. Besides the attitude, the service was also not attentive. On the bright side, veggie quiche was really good. I probably will not go back but one gets the feeling that the Petite Provence doesn't care.

My young, beautiful daughter-in-law picked our lunch place. She had been to the location on Alberta and I had been to the one in LO. We both liked those experiences. Anyhoo, this is a darling place with the feel of a cheery, warm French Bakery/Cafe. Service was good...not rushed but available . We arrived about 11:30 and larger parties had aten min wait...no reservations. My dil had eggs Benedict, which she loved and I had a Monte Cristo Sandwich. She said it was what my son always orders....;-). The sandwich was made with egg dipped French Toast, turkey ham tomato and pineapple and a sauce, and I chose a side salad to be virtuous. Everything was yummy...the sandwich was light with a perfect blend of flavors. I'll go back!

Love this place. The best aunthentic french pastries in town.

The pastries could have less sugar. They seem to be too sweet otherwise I would give them 5 stars. Breads are great.

I picked my daughter up from PDX and we decided to have breakfast here. They were packed but we were seated right away. The food and drinks were fantastic and the wait staff were excellent. This is the first time I've eaten at this location but have never been disappointed at any location that I've tried. If you're looking for great food and service then this is the place to go!

Beautiful inside....beautiful pastries displayed...waiters and waitresses in black uniforms... coffee and breakfast was AMAZING! We are already planning to return! It was just a short walk from our air rnb...Serendipity. ...it started getting very busy around 9 am, so go before that if you don't care to wait for a table...they open @ 7

lunch was very tasty- fantastic menu-- latte was really really really good!!!!! authentic tasting criossants- bakery items beautiful--staff not only very cute ( guys***) but friendly and helpful- cant wait to visit again****

Went to Petite Provence for a special occasion cake. There were several selections making the choice difficult. We ended up with the Crunchy Hazelnut which was truly the best cake several of us have ever eaten!!! Several layers of decadent chocolate, cream, apricot, crunch toasted hazelnut and more chocolate made an incredible experience. The cake was large enough to serve a dozen of us. If I lived in Portland I would be getting a cake from here every week!

Loved the little dishes, the savory, the sweet. Can not wait to return. The only negative is parking!

Went here with a friend and family, going back later this week! It was very very crowded for our lunchtime visit, but worth it. We had a variety of foods and all of us had salads and they were all very good.

Amazing, cool but not ac...hot day cool food and atmosphere is quiet and happy! Ahh Friday! What are you waiting for? Come on folks! This place is PERFECT!

After years of driving by the Division location we finally stopped in for lunch. The restaurant was packed but didn't feel crowded. Service was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Our waiter even spoke French. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful. After a very satisfying lunch we spent a bit of time drooling over the delectable pastries in the very well stocked bakery. We will definitely go back soon.

This place is a great find of a restaurant because it combines all of the elements people appreciate about a neighborhood cafe with all of the tastiness of a first-class restaurant. The baked goods are just amazing, I especially love the croissants. Great French inspired dishes for less than you would spend at many chain restaurants. This location is relatively small so be prepared to wait, but do wait as it will be made well worth your time.

We had a family brunch here, and I enjoyed it very much. The service was friendly and helpful and the restaurant is slightly upscale but kid friendly - and there were lots of kids. The prices were "nice brunch" level but not unreasonable. The coffee was good and plentiful, and the brunch entrees were imaginative and delicious. I split my dish with my sister. Together we shared the cheesy polenta with poached eggs and bacon, and the eggs on a croissant with caramelized onions in a red wine reduction. The next day I had breakfast with my dad at Shari's. Petite Provence is only a little more expensive, but about three times as good. (I'm sure the proprietor is reading this and horrified to be mentioned in the same breath as Shari's, but my point is that you can pay an average price for an average meal at a chain restaurant, or you can pay a little more for a MUCH better meal here.)

Friends and I stopped in for a French treat! Everything was delicious! We had French onion soup, quiches and salads and croissants with house made strawberry preserves and a mini trip chocolate treat!!! The spicy Bloody Mary was nice too lol! A bit pricey but oh well se la vie !

We had a wonderful breakfast on a Saturday morning around 10:45am. There were six of us and the coffee and every dish was wonderful . The bacon is very thick and crunchy. I had a cafe au lait with the beet crepes. Would definitely go back again .

Petit Provence is a lovely place for a coffee and croissant,..or more of our favorite a Monsier Croquet, or Madame Croquet..or a multitude of other superbly made sandwiches or pastries. The atmosphere is friendly, and the service has always been delightful. I always bring home a huge pink box of unique treats for the family!

This is the kind of meal that looks better than average on the plate. Once I began to eat I had to slow down and savor. No one needs to tell you to do that, your brain will realize this is a Meal to be enjoyed.

We arrived at Petite Province on a late Sunday morning (more like 2pm, but it's Sunday so let’s call it "late morning") to a few Portlanders sitting outside along the sidewalk in a scene reminiscent of Parisians themselves basking in the sun. Upon entering, we were greeted by not only one, but three different waiters and waitresses performing various restaurant tricks while still managing to acknowledge us and mention they will seat us in just a moment. “Good sign” I thought to myself. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside, thus choosing the latter. As was the first question from our wonderful waitress (who was French might I add), I chose to have coffee. The coffee was flavorful and rich in complexity, so I assumed it must be one of the countless blends from Portland’s own Stumptown (3377 SE Division) just down the street. Shame on me! After calling up the following morning, I was informed that the coffee was from Nossa Familia, which means “Our Family” in Portuguese. Unfamiliar with the brand, I went ahead and did a little research (remember...google is our friend). What I found is that Nossa Familia is a family coffee farm in Brazil which has offered “internationally celebrated coffee” for six generations that is not just “fairly traded” as they state on their website, but “Family Traded.” To say the least, I was quite impressed with Petite’s decision to use their café. Onto the food. Deciding between the lunch menu -- with sandwiches like the famous “Monte Cristo” and the Original Monaco -- and the breakfast menu, consisting of numerous variations on eggs and cheese, such as the Eggs Provencal or the Petit Provence Omelette, I decided the coffee dictated my mood: breakfast. After debating with two or three different dishes, with some advice from our waitress, I went with L’Omelette Du Chef. House sausage, bacon, tomatoes, onions and cheddar topped with avocado, with a side of in-house wheat toast (and of course, homemade raspberry jam) and a potato cake, I was excited. After ordering, my mom was still wavering at what to get. The choices were between the Grilled Tuna Melt, the Monte Cristo, and the Croustini with “Soup Du Jour.” I could tell the fact that the soup comes with the Croustini was pushing her in that direction, but after asking for a recommendation for our waitress, only the Tuna Melt and the Monte Cristo were advised. My mom decided to go with the Croustini, which turned out to be a regrettable decision for her. The sandwich, consisting of turkey, tomato, mushrooms, red onion and swiss on Tartine of French bread, was served open-face, only to be consumed with a fork and knife. She wished she’d have gotten the Monte Cristo, but the soup was still tasty. On the other hand, my choice, L’Omelette Du Chef, was right on par. The outer shell had nice shades of brown to it, different than a traditional American omelette and I’d say more akin to a frittata, a type of Italian omelette. Internally, the in-house sausage blended seamlessly with the bacon, tomatoes, onions, and cheddar while the fresh avocado slices on top really brought everything together. The potato cake was a fine accompaniment with subtle overtones of latkes (Jewish potato pancakes), but without the crispiness (or the applesauce). Like mentioned earlier, the toast was dense but a little dry, yet still something Franz Bakery could never compete with. And if you like jam on your toast, I think you’d appreciate the again, “in-house” fruit preserve. All in all, it was a fantastic meal, with quality ingredients and genuinely friendly service all around. I have not mentioned much about the bakery that’s literally inside the restaurant, but if you’re looking for simply a cup of coffee and a pastry, this place will suit your fancy just as well. There’s plenty of seating, both inside and out, and the prices are quite reasonable considering the quality of everything (something like $21 for both of us, before tip). There’s no doubt I will be visiting this place again in the very near future, although I’ll probably go for déjeuner next time, French for “lunch.” Bon appétit.

NE Alberta has not been a dining destination for us until now. We found the Petite Provence because of their sharp, New Orleans-style, outer appearance and found the inside was just as "wow". The variety of imaginative pastry is what you see first. Our meals were so large, we took some home. The berry French Toast is a winner for us, and we will do that again. Explore the menu, it is not easy to decide on the first visit. Servers were great. Loved having the front wall suddenly become an open area (those interesting garage doors are fun).

Very berry stuffed French Toast, Corned Beef Hash, and rhubarb mimosas made our birthday brunch a memorable one! The warm croissants with what had to be homemade strawberry jam at the start created wide smiles. It was busy here, but the staff was skilled and the food quality was excellent and delivery was swifter than would be expected for these crowds! And don't forget to stop by the bakery case to buy something to take home. The meringues are delightful!

We frequently eat breakfast at Provence on Division and have always been pleased with the service and food. So we decided to try Provence Bistro in Lake Oswego. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same of one of its sister restaurants in Lake Oswego "Provence Bakery and Bistro" as we found out the last time we visited for breakfast. With only a handful of customers in the place (weekday), the staff barely greeted us, and we waited to see which server would choose us and lead us to the table. Once seated, it was still hard to see which one would take our order. I must say that none of the server(s) paid attention to the kind of coffee (decaf) my husband was drinking. My specialty coffee (mocha) was unfortunately bitter unlike the one I get at Provence on Division (which leads me to think that maybe their machine needs a good cleanup to get rid of the bitter taste), and my husband's breakfast was certainly not a good example of Poached Eggs Meurette. At the end when we gave the server our card, we waited quite a while for her to return. When she did, she did not have our card and started scrambling around to find it and after asking the other servers, she finally found it in her apron. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

There were five of us that went for breakfast. Two had oatmeal , two had Benedict's and I opted for the special which was supposed to be steak filets with a Special Sauce. Everything came at a different time beyond the fact that there were five of us. In other words the oatmeal came out five minutes before the Benedict's another five minutes until the steak and eggs. The steak was so tough you could hardly cut it. Not the filet I was expecting. Everyone else thought their meals were satisfactory although the toast and other pastries that were ordered with the breakfast we're forgotten and we had to remind waitress. She had mentioned a couple of times that she had just come back from some time off. I guess she just wasn't fully back yet. We have been here several times before, might skip it for a while

Great for breakfast - get there before 9 and you have a chance for a seat - after 9 get pastries and Illy coffe to go,

Le Petite Provence is a relatively new collection of small restaurants in Portland and Vancouver noted for its French Bakery and Breakfasts. We dined for breakfast at the Division Street property. Indoor dining was available with a modest menu of French recipes of eggs and breads. We were promptly seated. Started with incredibly good coffee, with cream and sugar, and a sunrise blend of juice-- strawberry, pineapple and orange. Delicious. We had oatmeal pancakes and nouvelle date omelet. Very ample servings that were promptly served by friendly and efficient staff. Very delicious continental cuisine at a very reasonable price. Left with some delicious and huge chocolate croissants for lunch. We will return over and over!

Lose a star for: We sat outside which was lovely except we could smell sewer/garbage. Our waiter wasn't thrilled to be at work that day but he was still fine. Yumm yumm and yumm!!!!! My husband and I thankfully came to eat here on a Sunday with our 12 month old. The food was delicious to the eye and the mouth and so was my mimosa(s) the blood orange wasn't as good as the honey lemon which was my favorite. My husband has the burger which he loved, and I had the BLT with a fried egg on their homemade croissant. I want to go back and eat it! Before we left we hit up the bakery and I was NOT disappointed. They also offered us samples which who could beat that? Caution: If you're a beer drinker, skip it for this restaurant - nothing to rave about! But that's ok! :)

Starting with their summer special pineapple-raspberry martini which was delicious & refreshing, continuing on to their small plate dinner of a generous beet salad, the best I have ever had & I have it whenever offered, and scallops on parmesan polenta, and finishing with the waiter suggested dark chocolate- lemon confection, intense & perfectly balanced, the meal was so much more than I expected from a small neighborhood chain restaurant. The ambiance is Parisian café, but the service is world class. They were concerned that you were seated were you would be comfortable, not just for myself, but for other diners also. They inquired about you thoughts on each course, they cleared & replaced the correct silverware. Small things that let you know you are in competent hands. Will be back.

Rude reception. So many rules, ways being corrected. Not disabled friendly, limited menu and cannot guarantee cross contamination. This restaurant used to be great it now feels like a prison.

Amazing breakfast I had the salmon hash with eggs. It was so good!!! Service was quite rushed as in they seemed to want the table back but the food was well worth it for brunch. The green tea latte here is divine. Did not get a chance to check out the pastries but they looked delicious. I will be back!

PDX wasn't an option for review - it's still new at the airport. But this is a fabulous cafe. The coffee is wonderful and the pastries are fresh baked on the premises. Delicious. Perfect place to stop and get a snack for a flight. Or just to go to the airport to have a meal. Comfortable chairs - great atmosphere and fun place to sit and watch the people headed off to parts unknown :).

Must visit for their bakery. Extremely widr selection of delicious delights for everyone. Croisants a must with their jam. Oatmeal is superb, do not even have to add sugar.Home made sausage a treat on the breakfast menu.

The eggs Provençal was fantastic: flavorful beefsteak tomatoes, basil and perfectly cooked poached eggs. It came with a roasted squash/potato medley, but I'm not a fan of squash. I gave them to my husband, and he love them, as well as his chef's omelet. The warm croissants with raspberry jam and coffees were delicious. You can't leave without taking one of their beautiful pastries home. There's so much to choose from!!

What a wonderful bakery and restaurant! There are so many lovely baked items that it is very hard to decide. Sadly I have not eaten in the restaurant but it was so inviting that I promised myself I will return. Every baked good I've had from Petite Provence has been delicious.

We ate dinner there on two different occasions; both were pleasant experiences. The food was good, the menu offered a good selection (small plates and entrees), the wine list was adequate (great corkage policy!), service was fine, the ambiance very French feeling. I'm sorry we didn't get to try breakfast there- the bakery goods looked super scrumptious. We were able to walk there which made eating there even better- we could enjoy the wine and not worry about driving. Definitely a pleasant place in the neighborhood.

Happen to be at the PDX airport, highly recommending fresh and tasty French food. Sorry, Tripadviser doesn't have the airport address yet, they recently opened this location. My favorite place is the division location, because that's where their bakery is and where the chef/owner is most of the time. The owners husband and wife are hard working people who bring the best quality to their customers~ from a picky eater.

We stopped in at this place for a glass of wine while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant and were so glad we did! There is a tempting array of sweets and pastries at the bakery/patisserie portion of the cafe but there is also a European style cafe for dining or enjoying a drink. We both ordered a glass of wine which we both enjoyed very much. There were many hot and cold drink options including liquor coffees. The server was sweet to bring us some of the bite size samples from the bakery to our table with our drinks. We enjoyed our time and agreed we’d like to return to enjoy the food menu and get some pastries! Note their hours because they are not open late.

A student at Reed College referred us to Petite Provence and we were not disappointed. The meal was wonderful. I had the Fuji Crisp Salade, Petite Beef Medallions and Lemon Graffiti cake for dessert. The rest at my table also loved their meal. The service was very good and I felt the prices were very reasonable for what was ordered. The desserts are amazing with many more choices than what is on the menu. You can choose anything you'd like from the bakery cases. They make the items fresh each day. One in our party couldn't resist and took a variety home for the rest of her family. I would definitely go back next time I'm in Portland.

I have been to this restaurant twice and I am very impressed with the service, the food, the atmosphere, and the reasonable price. I had breakfast on my latest visit and the prompt service and the taste of the omelet was excellent. The bread, fruit, coffee, and juice were superior. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It has become my go to meeting place. I just have to choose my times wisely...it can get crowded for breakfast and lunch. Parking can also be nightmarish at times.

There isn't a single criticism I could make of this restaurant if I tried. The service is stellar, the food is spectacular, the coffee & drinks are wonderful. And don't even get me started on the breads & pastries! I've heard it said that Little T bakery on Division makes the best croissants, I say that they haven't tried them at Petite Provence. Any meal of the day, you will find yourself transported to a higher plane of existence by enjoying some of the food from this terrific restaurant.

My favorite meal of the day is breakfast and so it is I am constantly searching for new places that will deliver breakfast in an original and delicious way. This, next to my occassional splurge at Pine State Biscuits, has to be my favorite breakfast place in the Northeast. I go for the banana french toast and Monte Cristo which are ALWAYS amazing. From time to time, I will purchase little baked goods from their bakery and I have yet to be disappointed.

My sister and I live in the neighborhood and have visited numerous times for years. The food had been wonderful and consistently delicious. But recently we notice on a few visits the food and service has declined. Service wise, it took at least 20 min to get the menu and water. The food was mediocre and just wasn’t tasty anymore (Day Breaker), wasn’t warm, bland tasting overall. whats with service staff standing around not filling our coffee cups or water? It wasn’t a busy time period or packed. They seemed distracted among themselves and not looking after their customers. Was there a change in ownership? We miss the friendly awesome people that used to be there too. As a resident of Portland for over 40 years, seem like times change as well as attitudes; so sad. So not Portland!

This is a wonderful place for breakfast and lunch. Has a wide menu to select from: sandwiches as well as various breakfast choices. Service is very good. You need to get there early as the place is very popular. On the way out grab some pastries.

Close your eyes till you pull up in front of this Boulangerie and you are translated to the south of France and ever amazing Provence. I will start by saying you will have to pinch yourself once you leave because you realize again that you are really in Portland. Once inside from the friendly madomozel's greeting, to a quick glance around to the authentic French pastries and turn around to the bistro style tables, chairs and French decor and you will know for sure you are in a genuine French establishment. Then, you open the menu and as you would expect there is a French selection with what you hoped for by coming there, but to top it all off our waitress, Brooke made us feel like we definitely made the right choice in coming here. Her recommendations and descriptions of the specials and best menu items made you want to try them all. Don't miss the mimosa flight of 4 different champagne infused 4 oz. tastes that all had a double wee wee for originality and very nice diversions from the norm. We liked the Prickly Pear version the best. They hands down have the best croissant in the area and every choice from the menu was prepared just a Brooke explained and tasted even better. If French is in your wish list in Portland then dont miss Petite Provence!

Best eggs benedict I've ever had! Friendly staff. Just be prepared for a wait if you go on a weekend morning.

Wow, what a wonderful find. The service, the food etc.....very good. Alberta Street has many eateries and this one is worth the stop. Menu items are petite so it gives you the options to sample a few different options, as opposed to selecting one main course. The scallops are a complete winner, the Papa Fritos yummy, the French onion soup also a big yummy. In my taste the sliders are a miss, as well the chicken cordon bleu. There's a great offer of wine by the glass at a reasonable pricse. Overall, Petite Provence is well worth a stop.

Went as a birthday gift with friends, loved the atmosphere, had egg benedict YUM!!!! and tried a salted Carmel coffee. Two of my favorite items, breakfast and coffee. Baked goods devious too.

Never been to France, but i suppose this place is a taste of it (pun intended). It was NOT a run of the mill place to eat that obviously gets it ingredients from Costco. Menu was NOT so varied and huge that makes it hard to find something. I'd say it was breakfast or lunch. if it wasn't so delicious, you could have enough to box up. Maybe, if it wasn't so easy to just keep eating it all gone. I absolutely will go back. I hear the one in Beaverton has a flight of sipping chocolate for dessert.

Recommended by our vegetarian friend, we carnivores were delighted with our non-vegetarian breakfast meals. My wife had a delicious Northwest Salmon Scramble with a light, tasty lemon dill sauce. Generous portions, served with a fresh baked, buttery croissant from their bakery. Flavorful indeed! A delightful twist on traditional corned-beef hash--lighter and healthier. I had the risotto cakes and poached eggs. The grilled risotto cakes were flavored subtly with bacon, asparagus, mushrooms, red onions & fresh basil and topped with a cream sauce. The poached eggs were perfectly done, the yolks warm and runny. Especially wonderful and filling was the generous side of provencal potatoes and butternut squash. Yes, you heard that right. De-licious! Service was sharp and prompt. The coffee strong and good. Check out the bakery full of sweet and savory treats, too. The sweets tend to be on the sweet side. We tried a lemon tart and while it was tasty, we expected more lemony tartness and less sugary sweetness.
Bring your appetite!
The food here is incredible, and they give you a lot of it! This place is busy and bustling, but the service is great. I can see why it's so popular! (Division & 49th location in case there are others)
