Not worth my time and money

By Yvonne S |

Dirty restaurant, cobbwebs, dirty linen, glasses, silverware. Food edible, but nothing special. Definitely, not for prices charged. Waitstaff not attentive. Old trash on bathroom floor. Parking horrible, specially if delivery truck parked in the driveway.

Impressed by the Service and Ambience

By Wedding Woman |

8-6-22 - My first visit and I was impressed by the service and ambience. They had live music which wasn't too loud (lady vocalist playing guitar) which added a nice touch. I ordered the Salade Petite Auberge - Fresh Mushrooms & Avocado tossed in a Creamy Avocado Dressing served with Sliced Hearts of Palm, in House Vinaigrette - it was very good. Also the Chicken Cordon Bleu - Chicken Breast stuffed with Turkey Ham & Gruyere, lightly breaded & fried. It came with mashed potatoes & green beans and it was fine but nothing special (photos attached). I will go back but will try another entree...thinking perhaps the Coquille St. Jacques - Fresh Jumbo Diver Scallops pan-seared with Beurre Blanc, served with Spinach, Whipped Potatoes, touched with Hollandaise.

Highly recommended

Excellent tour - learned a great deal and bike ride was very pleasant. We also toured the Garden District, an old cemetery and parks. Also stopped at a very nice cafe. Highly recommended!

Tres bien! One of my faves

By Leif P |

Great French food. Super tasty cocktails too. I really enjoyed the dinner theater as well. Surprisingly talented actors.

Great for family or group event

By ATLredhead |

I had heard the food here was great but had never been. I decided to try it out for the murder mystery dinner theatre while I had family in town for the holidays. It was a great event for my parents (with mobility limitations). The food was excellent, and the show was so fun! The 2 main actors were high energy and the way the audience all got small parts in the interactive comedy was fun and kept everyone engaged. The show was broken up into 4 acts with each course of food between acts so you had time to eat without missing anything in the show. Highly recommend (adults and older kids- little kids would not appreciate the humor of the show and would be distracting). I will try to convince my boss to have our next work event here too!

Wonderful!

By Umesh H |

We have been to many murder mystery theaters and the only ones we have really enjoyed have been Petite Violette and Agathas in the Atlanta area. (The crew from Agatha started the theater at Petite Violette after Agathas closed down during the pandemic). They mix comedy and mystery with audience participation and great food to make it an experience like no other!

Capital city opera night is the best

It was my first time attending the capital city opera night at Petite Violette. The prefix five course dinner was fabulous My steak was delicious. My girlfriend got two lobster tails The music was delightful! We will be back.

A wonderful fun experience!

Celebrated my birthday with a family of 12 (ages ranged from 18-85) for the Murder Mystery Dinner theater. It was so much fun. The appetizers and dinner were great! I highly recommend this for a fun evening.

Great place for a Thanksgiving meal

By Jim M |

We went here for Thanksgiving with a group of friends and glad we did. A four course meal was $ 44. It includes soup, salad, entree and dessert. Great service.

A hidden gem in a city full of good restaurants

By rugger1869 |

This restaurant is in a strange location in a nondescript building, but don't let that fool you. The service and food here are amazing. It was like being transported to France even if for a short time. Our waiter was from Paris and was wonderful; timed service perfectly. The Crepe d'homard was amazing as was the escargot. For mains we had Beef Wellington and Canard... the Beef Wellington was so tender in melted in your mouth. Honestly, you can't go wrong here for a nice quiet meal and an escape from the hustle of Atlanta for a couple of hours.

Petite Auberge has merged with Cafe Violette to become Petite Violette

By H S G |

Petite Violette's staff is preparing delicious French/Alsatian/German food as they did at Petite Auberge. Everything is great and is one of the favorites of native Atlantans. The new location is spacious and brighter. Food: 4.5/5 Decor: Spotless restrooms, beautiful dining rooms, cloth napkins & tablecloths and flowers. 4.5/5. Service: Friendly, helpful, prompt and personable, 5/5. Value: $$-$$$ 5/5 and worth every penny. Would We return? Yes, and we have, repeatedly! This one of the places the Atlanta folks try to keep to themselves. Overall: this is 4.5-5/5.

Nice place to eat

This is a nice and easy going restaurant. The food and the service is always good. The ambiance is very comfortable being elegant but, casual at the same time.

Fun evening with family

By Dianne R |

This is a smaller version of Agatha’s Mystery Dinner Theater that closed permanently during the pandemic. It’s in a small room off the main restaurant. The food was good, service outstanding and the entertainers funny and engaging. Several of our family members had speaking parts and everyone in the audience participated in some way. I lost a hearing aid that night and the staff found it the next day and called me. That was service above and beyond and I was so grateful. I recommend this for a special occasion for a fun evening.

Kitchen does not seem to be able to follow instructions. I ordered steak frites well done. When it was served it barely qualified as rare. Cooking steak to the right temperature is simple. All it requires is being watched. No chef should have sent that out of the kitchen. My wife had fish which she said was average at best. Waiter was nice and not his fault the kitchen can’t follow instructions. At least my grandson liked his grilled cheese. Prices would have been reasonable had the food been better. If you like French music the singer was a nice touch.

Food is not Worth the Parking

By Southern G |

I have always enjoyed the food and the restaurant but with the switch to valet parking, I am done with Petite Violette. The last two visits have ended in long waits for the valet to, basically, let me drive car away from the restaurant. In both cases, I was blocked in by another valet parked car. On the first occasion, it went much faster and the valet was much nicer. On the last and final visit, getting my car (really just my key since I parked my car and paid the valet $5 not to park my car), took 25 MINUTES. And, as a bonus, the valet was really rude (condescending). The restaurant was not much nicer. I received excuse, after excuse, after excuse of why today was different. I do not care why today was different. That is the restaurants problem - however, having said that, maybe you should not have booked three groups (which is what I was told by a co-owner) and only booked 2 valets while also still allowing non-group business (me). Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The quality of the food is not worth the headache of the parking.

Great night out!!!

By Catherine O |

Visited the Murder Mystery and Mayhem on Saturday the 9th. Such fun! The actors are terrific and really quick witted. Such fun reference to current shows and movies. Had the beef medallions and it was delicious. Thank goodness they give proper portions because man I could have kept eating. Mom had the salmon and said it was very good but a tad over done for her taste. Overall a wonderful experience and definitely will be back.

Awesome and wonderful staff

By Stephanie M |

This was my first time dining at this place and I was highly pleased with the food and staff. I had the sea bass with spinach and mash potatoes. My cousin had the scallops which was really good. My other friend had the beef Wellington. All superb. The staff was phenomenal and very alert and attentive to our group. I will definitely go back.

Must try the scallops

By bhlraven1916 |

Great experience. I saw them on Atlanta Eats and they didn't disappoint. I had the Maryland Style Crab Cakes. Not too bad. For my entree I had the Coquille St. Jacques, large scallops, with spinach and whipped mashed potatoes. Really great choice!!! The scallops were cooked to perfection. Had a margarita and it wasn't watered-down. Prices were reasonable and you got a lot of food. The table next to me had the mussels and they looked delicious. I will definitely go back to visit.

Fun events and fabulous food

By Merik Blackburn |

My wife and I love the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater put on by Petite Violette. The show is fun & interactive with the BEST troop of players performing! And as always with Petite Violette the food is FABULOUS!

An evening with friends

By Richard K |

We went to Petite Violette to welcome our friends to Grandparents land. As a result we brought 3 bottles of wine. The corkage was fair and our server who was fantastic made sure we had the right glasses. The menu was varied and had choices for everyone. we can't wait to return.

Satisfying lunch!

By 77kendall |

In town on a business trip and ate lunch with colleagues. The restaurant was busy and they have free valet parking since the parking lot is small. I had the chicken salad which was great, served with a green salad and fresh fruit. My colleagues ordered the salmon, a salad and steak and fries. We all enjoyed our meals.

Awesome experience!

By Andrea D |

We went to the Murder Mystery dinner and it was so much fun! The acting was excellent and the food was delicious! Don't miss out on this restaurant and the entertainment.

Merge, Splurge, & Possibly Surge

By Jerry L |

Four friends and I tried this recently merged restaurant of two former venues, Petite Violette, for lunch. It was my initial visit. They had a big event going on in the back room, so staff was hustling to handle both the event and their normal lunch crowd. I ordered the Coq au Vin and had mixed feelings about the dish and wished I had ordered something else. I thought the prices were a bit of a splurge for lunch. I will give this French restaurant another chance to please because I like the location and see the potential for a possible surge in my rating of them.

Average

By JB |

First time experiencing a Dinner Theater event. The evening was fully booked, about 70 people. We were told they usually have about 50 people so this one was over crowded. They already prepare scripts for selected audience members to participate. You can decline but we did not know that when they gave us our script. We found out that because we booked as celebrating birthdays we were chosen. There were 3 in our reservation. You are assigned seats. There were 8 to 9 at each round table which made it crowded. It was so loud in there that we could hardly talk to each other. A little nerving knowing we have a script (a few minutes long) to read and act out so it made it a little uncomfortable knowing we had to preform when queued. They served appetizers, salad, maid course, and desert. All were average in taste. I have vertigo so at times the cheering and crowd participation was so loud I was worried it would trigger my vertigo. I used ear plugs to help. The acting was average, one character (the main guy) was very good and funny. All in all it was a good experience but I would not go back. Some others were saying how wonderful it was and they would return.

Perfect for our rehearsal dinner

By DisneyTeacher |

We used this restaurant for our reshearsal dinner for our wedding, and we were so pleased that we did! The restaurant provided a private room for us to use. For big parties/events, there is a set menu. It’s a choice between a set salad, 3 entrees, 2 desserts, and 2 wines. The service was impeccable and the food totally blew everyone away. I definitely would come back with my husband for an intimate, romantic dinner.

DISAPPOINTED

By Phyllis V |

After being gone from Atlanta for 15 years we were looking forward to some of our favorite restaurants. Petite Auberge we were looking forward to our dinner. My husband had veal and it was tasty but tough. He had escargots (not typical -small portion in pastry, Salad Cesar-did not have alot of flavor. I had Caprese Salad which was quite nice but my fish left out any flavor. The whipped potato was bland.... not like the garlic potato of old.

I Think Petite Could be a Little Better.

By DrT4709 |

My wife and I went to Petite Violette last night hoping for wonderful French fare. My wife enjoyed her Rack of Lamb, but I found my Chicken Cordon Bleu too dry, though tasty. The atmosphere was very nice. There was music provided by a lovely guitarist and the volume was not overwhelming, but just right. The mashed potatoes were tasteless and pasty. The wine list seemed a little constricted. We enjoyed the atmosphere but found the food average overall. We will go back and try it again. The Beef Bourginon was good but a little too salty for my taste.

Amazing show!

By Drenna B |

This show was hilarious! I brought my 8 year old daughter for her birthday and she had an amazing time . I love that they kept the crowd engaged by making the audience apart of the show. This is a must see and I will be back soon !

Murder Mystery Dinner - a great date night!

By Rebecca M |

We loved this experience and as always, Petite Violette's food was delicious. We had a separate room, and sat at a group table with 6 others that we hadn't met before. The actors greeted us at the door, gave us a part (most are very easy to do). We laughed and talked with our table mates the entire evening. You reserve online, pay when you reserve and note that it's non refundable. Gratuity was not included, and extra drinks are not included. You get some hefty hors d'oeuvres before dinner, so get there 30 minutes early. One glass of wine is included with the dinner, but a bar is set up in the private room and you can order before and during show breaks. Summary: very good value for the price, when you think about the entertainment and food that you get...be open to having fun and meeting new people!

Enjoyable Group Dinner

By littlerocky5 |

We had a great prix fixed menu with a group of 40. Hot food served hot, cold food served cold. Delicious sea bass in particular. We will be back for the regular menu, can't wait!

Amazing Dinner Theater!

By ILoveDuluth |

We went for the mystery murder dinner theater and it did not disappoint. It was so much fun! I want to go back and bring all my friends!

Bit underwhelming for the price!

By HelpfulAngel |

We went to attend their murder mystery dinner experience. For the price we paid $75 per person, I would rate it as average because the food was very mediocre - definitely not worth $75! They only gave you one small glass of wine which was not refilled. Their hors d'oeuvres left a lot to be desired - basically cheese and grapes (with seeds) and some crostini and meatballs which as vegetarians we could not eat. For the first course they served a small salad with ranch dressing, second course a pasta dish and dessert a bread and butter pudding. Nothing to write home about. The performance was good but there were only two actors! They did a good job involving some of the audience members. We've been to a professional dinner theatre before and this was pretty underwhelming. It was like watching a school performance and paying top dollar for it! The service was not friendly or attentive. We don't recommend this dinner theatre - it is overpriced for what it is!

Very delicious dimner

By StevenHScher |

We had a friend visiting from Chicago that speaks fluent French. We came here for dinner & after meeting Axel, requested him as our server, since he is from Paris. Our friend had a great time speaking French with Axel. We started with the escargot ($14) They were fantastic. They were served differently than usual in a pastry. My wife had the coq au vin ($19). It was delicious. Our friend had the steak frites ($28) which she enjoyed immensely. I had the Chilean sea bass Florentine ($34), which was good but the sea bass tasted more like halibut. It was sweet or juicy like sea bass, it was more dry. It was very tasty but I was disappointed. Our server Axel was excellent.

Great evening out!

By oriles |

We attended with several friends, and our whole table had parts in the play. We laughed until we cried. We didn’t know what to expect-loved every clever moment. And the food was delicious as was the service.

Oh, so good.

After a long absence, I visited this favorite restaurant with friends. The food was delicious. The service was wonderful. I look forward to coming back again with more friends at the end of this month.

Good food, lousy service

By Debia M |

After making a reservation for lunch several days in advance with the request that I have a table, not a booth, my friend and I arrived on time for our 12:30 lunch reservation. When we arrived there was nothing available except the bar, and that was unacceptable. It took 20 minutes to get seated at a table, and by then none of the booths had opened up, either. The manager seemed frazzled and not in control. It is near the holidays - which is why I made the reservation for lunch on a Thursday to begin with. It seemed as though my reservation hadn't even been considered when they sat other people coming in before me without a reservation - like having seated two people at tables for 4, etc. Both the Petite Auberge and Violette have been in business a very long time, and handling lunch reservations, even in the holiday season, should have been second nature to them. Once we were seated and ordered, the food came out quickly, and it was good. Unfortunately I practically had to tackle my server to get a refill of water after having the glass sit empty for several minutes. After lunch, when the valet brought my car back to me, as I was driving away I heard what sounded like rocks hitting the undercarriage of my car. I pulled off the road, got out, and found that my tires were coated with thick mud and mud had been tracked into the driver's side! Also, not acceptable. The restaurant's parking lot is much too tiny, hence the need for a valet, but did they have to find a muddy spot to park my clean car in??

Disappointing since they moved

By 72Sharon1954 |

Last year and the year before, one of the clubs I belong to had our Christmas party at Petite Auberge and we were extremely satisfied with the food, the service and the pricing. We were so happy with them that we decided to have this year's party at the new location Petite Violette. NOT THE SAME. There were 2 other large groups there on the Monday night we were there, and the wait staff seemed overbooked. The food was not the same quality as we had at Petite Auberge. And the parking - there is only room for 15-20 cars. The overflow had to park in a nearby hotel parking lot and walk to the restaurant. NOT GOOD for some of the senior citizens in our group. Next year I hope we find another location for our party.

Dinner and show

By Natalie S |

We went a company of six, and had a great time! The show was funny, and the participation of the audience made it even funnier :) The food was good. There was enough time for us to talk in between the acts. I would think it is better to come as a group so you occupy the whole table. Will be glad to come and see another show.

Excellent Dining !

By triptraveller |

Excellent diniing experiencce at Petite Violette ! The menu has a range of choices for each course - and the wine list is well chosen. Service is outstanding -- in requests for a quiet table and for modifications for dietary restrictions. The atmosphere is friendly, hospitable, and comfortable !

Pleasant lunch & nice atmosphere

By bonne306 |

Four Friends came to celebrated a birthday ;the food was very good and the service was excellent..However ,as a fan of very good French bread with a crusty exterior , I have to say the bread was extremely mediocre. I realize that’s the least part of a meal ;however , it’s my favorite

Great lamb cutlets

Disappointing Dinner Experience

By Steve B |

We have been to Petite Violette on a number of occasions, including several Christmas dinners associated with a company event and they have been delightful. Last Thursday, we went for dinner there with another couple and two of us ordered the Veal Scallopini, one the chicken Cordon Bleu and my wife ordered the trout. Both of the veal dishes contained meat that was tough, my wife’s trout was not up to expectations and the chicken Cordon Bleu was good, but clearly not exceptional. We did tell the waiter about the two veal dishes and he said “I’ll see what I can do” and proceeded to do nothing. I blame myself for not asking for the manager, but we decided to pay the bill because we do appreciate the fact that service people are working on our behalf during these stressful times. However, it was clearly not the dining experience we were expecting.

fantastic appetizers

By Arthur S |

had a wonderful time with great food: escargots, lobster crepe, mussels, salad Nicoise, duck, veal scaloppini, and wow: profiteroles. Great service. A bit noisy, but we could still have a conversation.

Dinner and a Diva

By RCColeman |

This French restaurant is a wonderful place to dine. Their menu is extensive as is their wine selections. They also host a monthly operatic event known as "Dinner and a Diva" where a 3 course dinner is provide along with wine and a selection of opera arias.

Among the Best Restaurants in Atlanta

By TombRaider55 |

This property is in the Brookhaven area. They began a program of matching contributions to support their service staff who couldn't work. Initially, they used their food truck and take out service. They are now open for limited inside and patio dining. They socially distance and sanitize carefully. Their food is par none. They offer all types of French and German dishes, salads, appetizers, and desserts, and of course excellent wine and cocktails. They are very attentive to their customers and go out of their way to make you feel at home and safe.

Great Lund Find

By mootooaj |

We went here for late lunch, around 2:00pm (they serve lunch until 4:00pm). To our amazement, there were some people already having lunch while others came after we were seated. It is a semi-formal setting so one could dress up or down. Waiters were very attentive. There were three in our party. I ordered pasta with veggies and extra virgin olive oil with garlic. The fresh mushrooms and asparagus were super fresh and well prepared. The pasta was hot when brought to the table. It was good but I would have preferred that the chef not load it with "tons of olive oil (I mean he must have poured 1/3 cup of oil on the pasta). If you get veggie pasta here, ask them to go low on the oil. The menu said it was prepared with oil and garlic, could not taste any garlic. On the other hand, I asked that no parmesan in my food. Yet it tasted like they ignored my wishes and added cheese since I could definitely taste it. My husband ordered the daily special: creamy tomato based pasta with shrimp and veggies. He loved the sauce that was nice and cheesy. There was a generous amount of shrimp, at least 12 and these were large shrimp. He absolutely loved the dish. He also ordered a glass of Chianti and it was very good. Our friend ordered pasta with fettuccini sauce and grilled salmon. He loved the salmon and it was well prepared. The chef also brought and grated fresh parmigiana cheese on their food. The dishes had generous portions for lunch. It was well worth the money. The French bread was also served and it was hot and fresh. It was good experience. The cost of the food and wine were very reasonable. Everyone enjoyed the food and we will return again.

Very Good French Food for Not Being in France

By Sandra R |

I took a group of women in my Lunch Bunch Group to this restaurant at lunch time. Everyone ordered something different and each raved about their dish. Some had salads and some had sandwiches and some had a hot meal. They were so delighted that they told their husbands they wanted to return and try out the dinner menu. The service was very good despite our large group of 13 ladies. I would recommend this restaurant, which is why I'm writing this review. Go and experience a taste of good French cooking with a delightful staff and nice atmosphere..

Fine Dining Defined

Thanksgiving dinner was exceptional. Rack of lamb was perfectly done and served with proper accouterments. Soups and salads were very good, fresh and tasty. The pecan pie and the Strawberries Romanov for dessert topped off an excellent holiday meal.

Go for the Show....fun, fun, fun!

By Safari665543 |

Attended their Murder Mystery Dinner which was fun.....Show was whimsical with all the stereotypes imaginable. Dinner itself was just okay....I had the Bison Chopped Steak which seemed more life a meatloaf. Again, I went for the show primarily. An excellent rebirth of the Agatha's Dinner Theatre that closed. Nice ambiance if you go just to eat with some good looking selections. Just my Bison "meatloaf" did not seem to match the french-based ambiance.

Good Time

By Richard O |

We went to the Boar's Head Feast on December 21. The food was excellent as were the entertainers. The service was outstanding. A very enjoyable time with a Renaissance themed Christmas celebration.

OMGOODNESS, such FUN at the Dinner Theater!

By Kimmel |

The food was good and was a great value for the money; generous portions and nice variety. The main attraction, though, was the Dinner Theater. It was GREAT! It was so clever and so much fun! FUUUUUNNNN-Y! It's interactive, so beware if you're not someone who can enjoy participating, but the parts are written for you so it's really super easy as well as fun! The actresses are SUU-PERB! By the end of the evening, I found myself totally forgetting what they really looked like and how they talked when I met them because they're so good at getting into character. I highly recommend, and I'll be going back next time I'm in Atlanta!

Excellent service and food always!

By miguelapuebla |

From the time I walked into the restaurant, I always enjoy drinks, food and service. Never been dissatisfied or disappointed. The bar is my first stop and to relax and meet friends! Give a treat to yourself!

Friday Night dinner theater fun!

I attended the NCI-SVU Brookhaven Murder Mystery dinner theater and had a wonderful time. The audience participation was fun! There were some talented patrons in our audience. Quite entertaining! The meal was very tasty !

A nice change to the same ol' cuisine

By AZCatfan1 |

My husband and I have been going to Violette since it was in a small house off Briarcliff. Every change we like it a little less. It may be due to reminiscing as we would stop off sometimes in the evening to share their chocolate mousse dessert crepe... an item long dropped from the menu. Then it moved to the Clairmont location and now has merged with Petite Auberge. The service remains spot on. Our waiter wan attentive. The food is good but not out of this world. Again, it is nice to have the French cuisine as a nice change up. Prices a bit higher than normal for us. We will be back though.

Just Average

By ljrapp16 |

Went for a business lunch and we were four people. We all were looking forward to this meal. First of all the waiter was awful. He never looked at us and when telling us the specials we had to ask him to repeat himself many times because we couldn't hear him. He was attentive to us, just was not friendly at all. The food came in a timely manner, but was just average. Nothing was amazing for worth going back for. It was expensive and not worth it.

October-UnFest

By Michele M |

Hard to find good German food in Atlanta and wanted to do an Oktoberfest. The soft pretzel appetizer was a bit boring – small amounts of a couple of bland German cold cuts and radishes. Apples and zesty meats would have been better. The big disappointment was the sauerbraten which didn’t have the richness of a marinade, covered by a very salty sauce. The spaetzle tasted like it came out of a Ronzoni pasta box. Skip the strudel-nothing special. The best thing was the pleasant service which made for a relaxing although not tasty dinner.

Most satisfying!

By ccc974 |

We love the ambiance of Petite Viollette. We were there fornthe Boars Head Festival, and enjoyed the food, the performance, and meeting new friends. Incidentally, we had our wedding rehearsal dinner at then, just Violette's; 25 years ago. Terrific then, terrific now!

Excellent food and service

By architect |

The restaurant has nice atmosphere. The sod is outstanding. The escargot was delicious as was the calves liver. The huge veal chop was excellent. Enjoy the rack of lamb. It was delicious and plentiful. Onion soup is very good. The profiteroles was well worth the calories. Service was excellent.

Expensive but worth every penny

By sam1 |

The food was excellent! I had the Bouchée a la Reine and it was delicious. So was the bread and the champagne. Our server was wonderful, efficient and friendly. Lovely lunch with friends

Come for the food, stay for the entertainment.

By Tom-ATL |

My wife and I are regulars at the restaurant, loving the food, the service, and the music on Fridays or Saturdays. We tried the mystery theater this week and had a blast. It was a fun participatory experience with a good meal and drinks. The actors were all marvelous and displayed great versatility and improv skills. Whether you're coming for dinner, or dinner and music, or dinner and a show, you will enjoy the restaurant.

A little pricey but worth it

By Jwvv |

We had a great experience here. Good food, great service made a very enjoyable evening. Everyone had a different meal and they were all good.

Fun times and great entertainment!

By John F |

We attended the "Murder at the White Lotus" show and dinner. It was a lot of fun and a great evening out with friends. The show is very interactive with the audience so be prepared. I was amazed at how good the "professional" actors were and how well they interacted with the audience.

WITH A GROUP ..

By RWinzie |

Need more staff ... Deliver hot bread to the table but can't deliver butter till the meal orders are turned in? The coffee is a weak excuse for coffee. We had the sea bass... tough ? Over cooked ? Not sure ... Have a hard time getting the bills out in a timely manner. Just disappears !

Best birthday gift

By Jennifer E |

From start to finish, my experience was absolutely amazing! I was greeted with such warmth, and the happy hour was a perfect touch—delicious hors d’oeuvres and refreshing drinks set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The show itself was engaging, fun, and full of energy. I even had the chance to participate with a speaking part, which made the night extra special! Everything was so well organized, and the team truly went above and beyond to create a memorable experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an event that combines great hospitality with incredible entertainment!

Now Petite Violette

By TombRaider55 |

As most people probably know, this is now Petite Violette--a combination of the former Petite Auberge and Violette French restaurants. When I first visited the restaurant after the merge, there were still kinks to work through. Now, it has settled a bit. The menu is a combination of the previous two restaurants. The appetizers and salads of Violette survived primarily with a few from Petite Auberge. The entrees are primarily those of the former Petite Auberge. All have been very tasty. The wait staff also appears to be a merger of two former restaurants. These are accompanied by the management of Petite Auberge (great folks), and entertainment from Petite Auberge (also great). This evening my party had Salade Petite Auberge which is a very good mushroom, heart of palm, and avocado salad reminiscent of some of the salads of the former Petite Auberge. They still offer an Escargot appetizer and I tried the Crepe d'Homard which was excellent. Tonight, they offered a nice New York Strip special that was finished Oscar-style, I also had the filet mignon which is identical to the former Petite Auberge and was perfectly prepared. One can expect to pay quite a bit more than you might if you were a former client of Petite Auberge. I was never a Violette fan, so I can't comment on the prices of that former restaurant.

Excellent show and food

By JBNB |

The murder mystery was engaging, funny, well-written, and acted. Two actors performed various roles and included the entire audience in the show. One must not be a fan of Yellowstone or Ozark to enjoy the show, but I am a fan of Yellowstone and enjoyed their spin on the various characters, particularly Rip and Beth. A step or two above most dinner theaters, the food is also excellent.

Horrible Food and Expensive

By AlanByrne |

Dined at the Petite Violette previously prior to their relocating and the restaurant was excellent. Their Chateau Brian, with Bearnaise Sauce, was superb. Returned last week and their Schnitzel was horrible, About 1/32 of an inch thick and overdone and overcooked, I took two bites and left the rest of it on my plate. I could barely cut it with a sharp nice and it had no flavor to it at all. If the waiter had not been so over schooled by management in filling up everyone’s wine glass every time we took a sip, he might have gathered we were not pleased with this very expensive meal, I have eaten Schnitzels in America and all over the world for over half a century. I have never even come close to having one that was not delicious. This was garbage. I will never return to this overpriced and poor quality restaurant

Murder Mystery Dinner

By Raelyn P |

We went for the Muder Mystery Dinner. We really enjoyed the show and knew from reading the description online that we did not have to participate if we did not want to. My husband enjoyed his acting role and I only sang a song with a chorus of other people, so that was fun. The show was really good. I thought the food was pretty good, not above average, but there were a lot of choices to choose from. Apparently you could ask for a to-go box (it was a hearty portion), but we were not told that so did not ask. I think it could be fun with a group. Be prepared to tip a lot - the waiters, the bar staff, the actors, the valet. My only complaint is a glass of wine is served with dinner and there is a cash bar beforehand and during the show. It was not entirely clear when we got there that the bar in the room was not part of the glass of wine served at dinner. So, that was $24.00 we were not planning to spend, but that glass of wine was so much better than the one served at dinner. We would deinitely go back. It made for a fun and different date night.

A great place to enjoy!

The Bachelor: A Double Date With Death

By Jim A. |

We went with another couple. Neither of us planned to take part in the show, but I guess they needed or convinced us somehow. Anyway we wound up as part of the show. We all had a good time. The actors were great fun.We liked the first part of the show better than the second part cause it more closely followed the Bachelor TV show. Dinner was served in between scenes and was good. I bet if we just came for dinner the food would have been better because we would have had a larger choice. However, they did a good job with the offerings. The Horderves were good too.

Wonderful French-German Combo

By Marilyn M |

This is a delightful, intimate French and German restaurant with delicious French food, an excellent menu with some also delicious German dishes. Petite Auberge and Violette restaurants combined not long ago and have come up with a real winner. You will see some light French dishes on the menu as well as some more substantial dishes - order according to your appetite. I have eaten there at lunch but the dinner menu looks enticing too. I have enjoyed everything I have had there - The pastas, beef bourgignon, as well as the salads and sandwiches are delicious. My favorite however is the profiterole dessert!

Delightful Experience

By Marilyn P |

I attended a Dinner and a Diva program. The singing was fabulous, and the food was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. The offerings were grilled shrimp with rice in a cream sauce , and Beef Wellington. I can vouch for the shrimp personally and report the looks and sounds of satisfaction amongst the Beef Wellington diners. I definitely want to return.

Food was good.

By Becky S |

Food was good and the restaurant was quiet and nice. Servers did not seem happy or eager to help. No one smiled. The salad was delicious but not really authentic French.

Great food and dinner theater

By GentlemanScholar |

Food was great every time (3 times there). I especially recommend the dinner theater on weekends. Well worth it at $70 plus tax and tips. The audience participation play was hilarious and fun to take a small part in the play, if you want to. Actors were very funny and friendly. Met interesting people, arranged in groups of eight at a. table.

Great Food and Entertainment

By vmspain2019 |

We went for the Murder,Mystery, Mayhem event on Saturday the 9th. It was so fun! The food was great (just enough with good variety) and the entertainment was fantastic. I highly recommend this event. Great night out with friends

Mystery Theatre

Went for the mystery theater. It was a bit bizarre in a fun sort of way. The medallions were great too.

A taste of Alsace

By melissanobeez |

We came for their murder mystery dinner and left with a new restaurant to add to out regular rotation. The menu is classic French with a few Euro-faves thrown in. We were served banquet fare since we were there for a large group event. The food was quite good for the price and the service was spot-on. The show was well done, too! The atmosphere was quaint, well-lit and on the quieter side... a welcome change from today's noisy industrial trend.

Great Night Out

What a wonderful night out with friends. The food was delicious, the entertainment was fun and engaging and we had such a lovely time. We plan to do this again soon!

Fabulous Restaurant...Our New FAVORITE!

By Justbranches5 |

We celebrated my birthday at Petite Violette this evening and I couldn't wait to leave a stellar review of our amazing evening! We loved the ambiance of the restaurant immediately. They had live music & little lamps on the tables with low lighting. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We started with the Soup Du Jour, Lobster Bisque. Seriously one of the best soups I've ever had. I could have had two more cups of it and been completely satisfied. Do *not* miss an opportunity to try the Lobster Bisque! My husband had the Cotes D'Agnea (Rack of lamb) served with fingerling potatoes and asparagus and I had the Beef Wellington also served with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Both were cooked to perfection, the meats were melt-in-your-mouth tender, the sauces flavorful, the asparagus crisp and perfect and the potatoes delicious! I can honestly say they were both one of the best meals we've ever had.The portions were very generous...unlike the majority of French restaurants we've been to. I actually took half of my Beef Wellington home. It's extremely rare for us to order dessert, but they all sounded so fabulous, we couldn't resist and ordered the Bread Pudding and the Strawberries Romanoff. They were both delicious, but the Strawberries Romanoff was a little different than expected as it was served with vanilla bean ice cream and a raspberry sauce and not the traditional sour cream/grand mariner flavored whipped cream that I was used to (at least I didn't taste those ingredients). Still delicious though! We highly recommend Petite Violette and are looking forward to our next special occasion there!

Dinner and a Diva - a Fun Experience!

By happy_in_paris_10 |

This restaurant offers French and German food, in a continental upscale atmosphere. They have a monthly event a couple of evenings during one week of each month, called Dinner and a Diva, that features opera singers from the Capitol City Opera, singing a few songs from a specific opera between courses. This month was Porgy and Bess and we couldn't resist. (Haven't been to one of these events in a couple years and we love this music!) The music director tells the story of what happens in each act and accompanies the singers on an electric keyboard. Very nice. Appetizers - then opera. Salad, then opera. Entree, then opera. Dessert. They add some audience participation during the operatic interludes. Clever concept. Fun evening!

Excellence in Every Aspect of Our Experience

By jackandsuetravel |

We had a very short timeframe for an event and reached out to the Petite Violette team. They worked with us positively and creatively to put together the experience we wanted. They made excellent suggestions we had not considered that made our experience even better. Parking was easy - we had both self-park and valet options. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and guided to our meeting room. The food was delicious. Everyone who attended commented on how delicious their meal was. The service was pleasant, efficient, and attentive, making our experience very smooth. I’ve eaten lunch and dinner at Petite Violette many times - both inside and outside on their patio. Each time, I’ve had delicious food and great service. This was modeled in the same way with our event. I highly recommend Petite Violette whether you’re coming for a meal or an event.

A very nice dinner.

By YeayVacations |

Loved the place. Mussels, beef wellington, and scallops were delicious and nicely done. The whole dinner experience at the restaurant was great. Nicely paced and not rushed at all. Eric was a great host. Next time would go for the creme brulee instead of the bread pudding.

Wonderful lunch date with dad!

By lesliefr2016 |

Went for a late lunch with out of town family and was VERY pleased with the quality of food and service that we received (3PM on a Wednesday). The wine selection (glass AND bottle service) could be better but the digestifs/cognac and coffee options were on point. Overall I had an amazing experience and will definitely return.

Wonderful place to celebrate birthday with family!

By gregoryg2017 |

Staff very friendly. We had a reservation and were seated promptly! Cocktails were great! Appetizers of Onion Soup, Salade Petite Auberge, and Escargot were fabulous! Main course Beef Bourguignon, Grilled Salmon, Trout Meuniere, and Veal Scalopini were wonderful and tasty! Bread pudding and Crème Brulee were for dessert! Lovely experience and great service! Guitar player was also wonderful!

Amazing food and service

By Alabamatripcreator |

We discovered this restaurant a couple of years ago while we were staying at a nearby hotel. It is amazing in every way. We were at the hotel recently so off we went to Petite Violette for lunch. I had salad nicoise which was fresh and SO good. My husband had the chopped steak/sauce and potatoes and green beans, which was also great. Service was right on and friendly. That night we returned for dinner. I ordered lobster risotto which was outstanding!!! He had filet /bernaise and potatoes and asparagas. Another wonderful meal and service. The next day we returned for lunch and tried the grilled salmon, another winner. Back for dinner and Veal Scaloppini which was fantastic. The hostess was always so friendly and all our severs were top notch. Each one was pleasant and fun, really contributed to the quality of our dining experience. I even creme brulee to take back to some of the hotel employees. This restaurant has it all, excellent staff, wonderful ambiance and excellent food and a great bar. Next time in Atlanta we wll return.

Now the Petite Violette - Excellent!

By Joanne2345 |

Had the pleasure of dining there 2 times in 4 days! Yes, a return visit was a must! Excellent menu - superb food -- great waitstaff!

Delightful evening

By ColumbiaMDPercolate |

We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. I enjoyed my trout almandine and my friend enjoyed veal piccata risotto. He suggested that we order strawberries a la romanoff. I'd never had strawberries prepared that way and they were delicious. There were no hassles with valet parking. And even though they were holding a Mystery Theater event in another room it did not disturb diners in the main dining room.

Good lunch

By StevenHScher |

We had a group of about 20 dining for lunch in the back private room. The service was excellent. Our server Kedric was great. He was efficient & helpful. I ordered the salad with shrimp. It was delicious. My wife had the Caesar salad with grilled salmon. It was also very good. We shared the bread pudding for dessert. It was served warm with vanilla ice cream & was absolutely delicious. This dessert was a must have. The overall meal & service was very good.

Good place for business lunch

By yooveeay |

Great food, excellent but unobtrusive service combine for an excellent venue for a business lunch. Bright, airy room. Valet parking appears to be mandatory, which is a drawback in my view.

Awesome anniversary dinner

By Jimmy B |

For the last twenty-eight years I have worked in the fine dining sector of the restaurant business in Atlanta, first as a waiter then as a manager. One thing I insist on for people I work with and myself is that the goal is guest satisfaction. I find that the only way to achieve that is that you have made the guest know that you love what you are doing. Last night my boyfriend and I decided to go to Petite Violette for our twenty-sixth anniversary because we had such a great experience when the restaurant was located in Toco Hills under the name Petite Auberge. We didn't think think it would it would be much better than last time, but it was. The minute we walked in Jess, one of the managers, greeted us like an old friend. Our waitress Miranda, was energetic and made us know she was glad to be taking care of us. All in all, the staff, the service and the wonderful food made our anniversary special, because everyone involved truly care. We will be back.

A Consolidation of Petite Auberge and Violette

By TombRaider55 |

I have been a long-time regular of Petite Auberge and an occasional patron of Violette. Petite Violette is a consolidation of those two restaurants in the former location of Violette. Honestly, I didn't like the atmosphere at Violette. But the current configuration is much better, owing a great deal to the addition of more intimate booth seating. The menu is a consolidation of the two restaurants. There are new items, some items that are no longer offered, and steeper prices. I am going to approach is review based on Petite Auberge: I enjoyed the new Choux de Bruxelle appetizer. That would be roasted Brussel sprouts with a delicious sauce. That dish is easily enough to be shared by two. Gone are some of our favorites like the Mushroom Ritz salad; but there are still remnants of these present in the new menu. For example, the Salade Petite Auberge is a combination of hearts of palm salad, mixed field greens with avocado, and the mushroom Ritz all with smaller portions of those. Gone is the delicious white bread rolls with olive oil or real butter. This has been replaced with a less hearty and smaller white bread roll dredged in butter. It's more Italian than French in my humble opinion. I enjoyed the Filet Mignon. However, maybe it was just me, but I think that the portion is slightly smaller and is priced a little higher. This was served with a potato puree instead of the delicious whipped potatoes at Petite Auberge. I suspect that all of this will get better with the passage of time. I did enjoy seeing many familiar faces among the management and wait staff. And Berne is back with the guitar and lovely vocals. I did not like the valet parking. In fact, I refused to use it and parked across the street in an unpaved vacant lot. That lot was almost full and clearly the restaurant is going to need to consider purchasing it. Expect your total tab to be somewhat higher than Petite Auberge.

This Restaurant has it all.

By DrewHHI |

When you walk through the door, you feel the aura of a fine restaurant. From there, it gets better. The staff is fantastic. That comes from the top. The Owners Michael and Anthony could not be better. They do everything possible to make sure you have an excellent experience. The food is experienced, not simply eaten. We love Petite Violette and go whenever we are in Atlanta.

Great lunch

I took a bff here and we loved the menu! I especially loved the grilled Brussels sprouts. We were served quickly and the server was attentive.

Un excellent repas francais (A great French meal)

By DevWatson |

Met up with a few colleagues for an early dinner. We arrived before the crowd and enjoyed a very good meal. I began with the Salade Cesar and moved on to the Boeuf Bourguignon. VERY, very good. Our server was super helpful, friendly, and checked in our us frequently.

Good Lunch

By michael p |

I like a restaurant where you are able to hold a conversation with your luncheon companion. This place lives up to that desire. Add to the ambience the fact that the food was great and the wait staff very helpful you have all the ingredients of a perfect lunch.

Great dinner and entertainment

By R K |

We scheduled a large family dinner and selected Petite Violette for their reputation for excellent food and to try the Dinner Mystery Theater. We loved it! There are opportunities for audience participation (only if you volunteer) or simply enjoy the show. Show was lots of fun and the food was excellent. We are already planning our next visit

Not just great for casual meals or special occasions, but group events as well.

By Texas_Papa |

I have been eating at Petite Violette for five or more years. Visits are for a superb light French meal for lunch when I am in the neighborhood. Or more often, have a special meal with a loved one or close friend. While I was aware the restaurant could do group events, I had never experienced one there. When the bookclub I belong to decided to do a group event that would include an evening meal, we began a search for a location. (In addition to me, a number of members had eaten at the Petite Violette and like it.) To be convenient, location was important. We found a few good places that were within a 2 mile radius. A problem arose in the cost. The venues we initially found best had high rental/food and beverage rates. A small bookclub of 34 people could not really afford a room rental of $500 to $1,000, and a couple of special meals, do to dietary needs, were a bit high. We decided to look a little further out. Petite Violette was only 3 miles away! When we spoke to the General Manager, Michael, he listen to what we were planning and what we could afford. Michael’s approach wasn’t wanting our business (we knew that because he said that upfront) was very clear. He asked what we wanted to achieve with the event. (Being a bookclub, we had a literary program that included some entertaining activities; a dinner meal, a guest speaker, and wanted a suitable space. Important was a fixed price.) We spent less than 30 minutes, and had exactly what we needed. To reduce some expense we had a buffet that truly was as tasty as I have ever experienced. We had a pay-as-you-go bar that kept our ticket price down. The private dining room (fee waived) was set impeccably and a PA system was provided free of charge. Service as superior. Everyone enjoyed themselves. So much that we are planning a return. I can say, from personal experience, Petite Violette is a superb restaurant for personal dining and group dining events—unequivocally! Highly recommend!!

Great ladies lunch

Petite Violette was great for a ladies lunch. We were there for 3 hours. The onion soup and daily quiche were exceptional. The crime burlee was yummy!

Great Lunch Value

We went for lunch with our friends and we all were very pleased by the excellent food that we each ate.The portions are generous and delicious, and the prices were reasonable. The service could have been a little faster. We will return.

Petite Violette

By Jaded-Bird |

Having dined here before it was renamed "Petite Violette", I'm not quite sure if it's new and improved .. BUT .. one thing for sure. It is Very Good. Perhaps a bit of a price escalation. Service was Excellent and food preparation to match. Recommended.

What a fun night!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

By J B |

What a fun date night with my husband and friends! The dinner theatre is such a fun experience… clearly great for birthday parties and special occasions… the players are interactive and hilarious!! The food was delicious and you make new friends while you’re having a fabulous time 🙌

Great food and atmosphere

By SGIROX |

If I could give this a specific rating, it would probably be a 4.70%. Food, atmosphere, and service was all very good. We went on the Saturday after Valentine's Day, so the restaurant was still festively decorated. A wonderful singer was performing and her song choices, volume, and voice were wonderful. We had lobster bisque, Caesar Salad, salmon, and pasta with shrimp. All of the food was exceptional. My only critique would be for them to slow down the food a bit. We told our server we looked forward to enjoying a lot of wine (we Ubered) and a slow pace to our evening. When we ordered our salad, it literally was on our table 90 seconds later. Same thing with our soup and appetizers. I honestly felt like I was at a fast-food drive thru. Based on those experiences, we waited about 20 to 30 minutes to put in our entree order. Waiting to order our entree gave us time to enjoy our wine and pace the meal the way we wanted. I would highly recommend Petite Violette to anyone.

Murder Mystery Show!

By roadtripfam5 |

We came here for the murder mystery dinner for my child's 18th birthday with friends. It was so fun! The show was very funny and the actors were great (2 people playing a wide variety of roles!). It is also interactive so everyone there had a part to play in the mystery - many people even have lines! Food was also excellent! Highly recommend for a fun group of friends/family or different type of date night!

Expansive menu, excellent food

By jpjpjpjpj |

This French restaurant has wonderful food and a small, intimate bar area where you can also dine. Service was amazing, as well.

Good Food; Slow Service

By Juliette D |

The Foie Gras was excellent— when it finally arrived—- and the salmon and scallops were tasty. Many years ago, We ate at this restaurant when the location and name were different— auberge—I believe—anyway—-they continue to have a loyal following, with most patrons in their senior or mature years. Consistently good French food; full service bar—- but our waitress, while pleasant, appeared to be new or overwhelmed.

Murder Mystery Comedy dinner

By Sofiya K |

Agatha’s cast is back! But their comedy murder show is now at Petit’s and better than before. My group and I haven’t laughed so hard in ages, the script was fantastic. You can opt out of participation—there’s no pressure to participate although everyone that did had a lot of fun with their short scripts. “Unsweet Ice T” was my absolute favorite detective character rendition. Food was great—the bison steak was more of a burger but much better than the chicken. I’m so glad the show is back. I’ve waited for a while after covid to take my family. Highly recommend to all ages, but def better for 25-60 years. Tickets go quick and the room (and entire restaurant) is sold out and full. Valet is complimentary.

Petite Violette...is the best!

Best French restaurant I have found in Atlanta

By TravelerATLGT |

Have dined there 10+ times, and always a great meal. Classic french menu, great wines, nice decor, and attentive but not overbearing service. Coquille St. Jacques is my favorite, but everything I have tried has been good. A bit of Paris dining just northeast of Buckhead.

Fantastic Find

By Alabamatripcreator |

We were staying at a near by hotel whose restaurant was closed due to COVID. My husband had passed this restaurant in the past so he googled it. We made reservations for dinner. From the moment we walked in the door I knew we had made the right decision. We were pleasantly greeted and shown to quiet booth. Our server, Kathy A, did a great job and made good suggestions. I ordered a cosmo and my husband a manhattan. Kudos the bartender, both drinks were perfect. I ordered jumbo crab cake for appetizer, excellet dish served over mixed greens wth sundried remoulade sauce. My husband ordered escargots Provencale, a real winner. My entree, Coquille St Jacques, the scallops were perfectly seared with Beurre Blanc and served with spinach and whipped potatoes. My husband was thrilled with his grilled filet mignon with bordelaise sauce. Wine choices were also perfect. The restuarant is beautifully appointed and relaxing. It was quiet and so inviting. We made a reservation for dinner the following night We returned for lunch the next day. Yesenia N was our server and did an excellent job. Great personality and fun. I ordered the grilled Reuben Sandwich--excellent choice and particularly liked the use of Gruyere cheese instead of Swiss. My husband tried their special, fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese, another home run. Thanks to Yesenia N for making our lunch a fun and enjoyable experience. We were back for dinner! We both passed on appetizers due to having a heavier lunch. He once again went with the grilled filet mignon and once again an excellent choice. I chose the Escalopes de Veau which was amazing!! Served with spinach ravioli, mushrooom and parsley lemon caper butter. GREAT choice. We also really liked their bread, chewy texture and flavor ful. Our server, Vivian M was excellent, gave great advice, a very engaging young lady. Her outgoing personality really added to the enjoyment of our dinner. The also do an excellent job in social distancing with their tables. I HIGHLY recommend Petite Violette! When we are back in Atlanta this will be our go to place! Thanks to everyone at Petite Violette for three enjoyable meals.

Petite Violette is our first choice!

Where Ladies Lunch

It feels a little old fashioned. You expect to see Southern Belles sitting around with cute hats a white gloves. Don’t be fooled. The food is good and the service is perfect. You know that everyone involved wants you to enjoy your lunch or dinner. A nice feeling.

Birthday dinner for 2

Nice to see a traditional French menu, well prepared food, good wine list and friendly service. The live music wasn't great but better than piped background music any day.

Great choice for celebrations

By mreesebryan |

This was my 1st time since the merger of two restaurants and I wasn’t disappointed. The mussels were yummy especially the cream sauce. I had veal and it was very good and a rather large portion. Petite salad auberge was very tasty. Excellent service. So glad the bread pudding remains on the menu.

Celebration of Life Party

By tolwade1 |

We had a celebration of life here with about 50 guests. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion because the staff set it the room just as we asked. We had a buffet of heavy hors d'oeuvres. The food was delicious and plentiful. The bartender was excellent. Our guests complimented the restaurant and vowed to return. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any party. Thanks to the restaurant employees.

Good, not great

By Marc S |

Consistently good. Consistently not great. I have been there a few times as Petite Violette and many times as Petite Auberge. Always good, never great.
