I'm not quite sure of the region this Mexican food is but it sure is tasy and different. Fresh like farm to table taste.Taco Tuesday is a must HH. Under $2 for a taco that's bursting with flavor. My taco had pomegranates and other unusual ingredients. Nice atmosphere too.

This place has a great Happy Hour menu that runs from late afternoon until 7 p.m. There is ample outdoor seating, or more swanky in-door seating. The menu features lots of fish dishes-- we opted for the queso fundido, fish tacos, margaritas, and a mexican lagers. Even though it's in DTLA, it's quite peaceful.

I absolutely love this place. It can be a little pricey but so worth it. But back to the food! So far I've tried the tacos, the Posole, the green sauce shrimp cocktail, the chips and guacamole, the chicken pambazo (sandwich) and their spicy mustard habanero salsa. I like them all! I've introduced several coworkers to this place and they loved it. Lunchtime gets packed and service slows down so I suggest going around 1:30. Service is much better! If you can sneak in some agua fresca or a margarita, do it! Their blackberry hibiscus margarita is amazing. On the weekends, they have an amazing brunch.

Wonderfully fresh margaritas. Beautifully presented, delicious food. The cochinito pibil is fall-of-the-bone, melt-in-your-mouth awesome. Can't wait to return.

What a nice addition to the Downtown LA dining scene. Fresh food with a unique taste, and very refreshing. I had the duck salad, and it was great! Also I enjoyed a delicious watermelon agua fresco. I would recommend!

My sister was visiting Los Angeles and wanted to see an exhibit at MOCA and she wanted a Mexican seafood restaurant. Pez Cantina was a short walk from the museum and the food and drinks there were delicious. It’s a bit pricey but everything we had was outstanding. Very pleased with Pez and we will be back. Looks like a fun place for happy hour in the spring/summer.

There's lots of good Mexican food in LA, but Pez Cantina really stands out. The food and cocktails are outstanding. The guacamole and chips should not be missed, neither should the "MEZCALARITA" (made with chipotle-infused mezcal). The carnitas tacos were outstanding. You get your choice of rice and bean varieties. I had the cilantro-lime rice and Chorizo refried Peruano beans. Both were fantastic. I can't wait to go back!

You know how many times I walked on the side of Pez Cantina ??? Thousands !! One day I was wondering close by the restaurant and i said to my self , let's give it a try . I am very glad I did !! I really enjoyed everything , the surroundings , service and specially two very important things : quality of food and prices !!!! . I love to eat and after I ate there I was like I could not believe you could eat very good and at the right price in the middle of the buildings which by the way it makes it more interesting eating in the patio . Do not get me wrong this not your typical Mexican restaurant , this a little high class food but with modern prices .I had lunch and I started it with a Wild arugula salad , then I asked for grilled octopus ( like Italians say " Mamma Mia !! " ) , I ended it with a so tasteful pez cantina flan , . I am a Los Angeles tour guide for the last 30 years so believe me , better yet do not believe me .... GO!!!!!

Went here with a large group of 20 for after work meeting with colleagues. The server was pretty much absent and only seemed to engage one part of the table. Took forever to get our ticket. Got there at 7..,left at 9:45 after I was practically sleeping on table. We were at a conference so we got a free glass of wine with our conference badges! Yay! I got the scallops with zucchini blossoms? Was pretty good. Menu had some unique options. Good guacamole. Would've liked to try some salsa but was following suit of group. Outdoor seating was beautiful.

Cute, vbeachy Mexican vibe. Solid chips and with multiple salsa choice. Amazing Molcajete -- enough for 3 people to share. Drinks were a bit sweet overall, and the bar staff was "too busy" to make a drink on the menu, which is incredibly disappointing. Don't offer a cocktail if you refuse to make it. I would go back for happy hour if in the area.

We got there and had to sit outside due to the fact that we didn't have a reservation, it was a little windy I do wish that they would have a cover for the outside area. We got there during happy hour and I got a $8.00 margarita which was good but a little steep. The food was very tasty and the amount was good, my only gripe was that they ask if you want chips and guacamole and then when I got the check I found a $12.00 charge for it, when I asked them about the charge I told them I had not been told about it costing extra, especially when I don't even eat guacamole, they did reverse the charge and apologized for that. In the future please tell people that there is a charge for chips and guacamole so there is no confusion.

very pleasant experience: everything went well. traditional Mexican food and all dishes served were very good. I got dinner on the outside part of the restaurant which is surrounded by beautiful buildings. the waiter was very very kind ans she make me feel like being with friends for a dinner at home. pretty expensive but he's sounds reasonable accordingly with both great mood and top quality of fresh food served.

We stopped by Pez Cantina for a last meal on our trip. We made a reservation since it was a Saturday at 6pm. When we arrived the place was busy, their outdoor patio was full but they had a table reserved for us. We decided to sit close to the outdoor but not on the patio. Their menu offered a lot of choices and the food was very good. We had the special 3 course meal, shrimp tacos and ceviche tostadas. Enjoyed the lady singing on the patio, nice touch.

My wife was craving good fish tacos and this place fit the bill exactly. Great hot fresh chips with fantastic guacamole and super fresh tasting salsa, even got seconds. Ice cream and Churro also very very good. Reasonable prices.

Our family enjoyed a very nice dinner at Pez Cantina following a visit to the Science and Aerospace Museum near the USC campus. The staff at Pez did a good job of accommodating my wife's gluten allergy. We began our meal with margaritas (the classic margarita on the rocks was perfection ... not too sweet), guacamole, salsa, and chips ... all were very good. Our granddaughter tried the seared tuna and we went for the carne asada tacos on corn tortillas ... they were excellent and the portions were just right. Our daughter and S-I-L both ordered the chicken. It was nicely marinated, juicy, and delicious. The service was among the best we have experienced ... and we dine out a lot! The restaurant was quite comfortable with large, well padded chairs and an appropriately sized table. Noise level was quiet in our corner, but energetic closer to the bar. We dined early (about 5:30pm) without reservations and were promptly seated, but we could see that a half hour later this would have been more of a challenge. Overall, a terrific experience!

My wife's family is Mexican so I am spoiled. When we sit down to dinner with her family, I know that everything I am putting into my mouth was prepared from scratch that day... So, rating a restaurant can be a tough experience - for the restaurant. I have to say, I was impressed. My first assessment is the chips and salsa. If this doesn't impress, I can assure you, the rest of the meal will disappoint. On this point, the chips were warm, crisp with just the right amount of seasoning salt and other spices. The salsa was excellent, chilled with the perfect spiciness. I ordered the carnitas tacos and the al pastor tacos with a side of rice and beans. The carnitas were ok but missing that sweet/savoury flavour that make them so irresistible. So, I would pass. The al pastor taco was very good and I recommend. The rice was arroz verde which isn't what I prefer but it was very good as were the beans. All in all, this is a solid restaurant and you won't be disappointed. It will be a standing location for me for business lunches.

The menu is eclectic, the Mexican food is delicious and inventive. We started with margaritas with a tangy salt on the rim. tangsalt on the rim.

Super yummy shrimp beer-battered tacos! Loved their chips and salsa, which had a unique flair, not just the usual. The hibiscus margarita was divine!! A bit pricey, but delicious with great service,

Stopped in for drinks & appetizers after we passed and were curious. Hadn't see this place during last visit to the area. Glad to have found it. Outside seating, great bar, happy hour menu with tasty appetizers. Good sangria. Great service. Will go again.

I stopped in for a quick dinner because I wanted Mexican and this was near my hotel. The spicy tuna tostadas were really tasty and had some kick (I usually stick to 'medium' spice levels, and this was about my max). The dulche de leche flan cake was a bit disappointing, though - very sweet and too vanilla-y, not enough caramel flavor. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and it was a lovely treat to eat outdoors in November!

The Skinny: Parking - $7.50 self park w/ validation Decor - Beach flavor Service - friendly Coke Factor - a bit watery from the bar Food- some great dishes Restroom- clean multiples in back hall If you are downtown and yearning for some great Mexican food - head to Pez Cantina! They have lively music on the weekends and you can dance on the patio. Our servers were all very friendly and when we wanted to sit further from the music, the hostess accommodated by putting us in the back room with a gorgeous chandelier made of fish. We ordered: Octopus Salad - wonderful fresh smoked and soft octopus Shrimp taquitos - who knew cauliflower could taste so good Chips and salsa - yes they charge, great salsa, freshly made chips Calamari - with pork rinds and fries - yes bad for you but so good Carne asada tacos - terrific beans, awesome lime rice, just ok meat (not as flavorful as I had hoped) Corn - the corn was fantastic but this dish was too oily for me Nice ambiance, comfy chairs, tasty food- will be back!

Easy and reasonable Happy Hour. A little different take on Mexican food from the usual. Can get very crowded and noisy at times.

it was a nice option for dinner at Downtown LA, of course there's no better place than Mexico to find Mexican food but that one was pretty close. it was a shame was a rainy night but certainly having dinner outside must be a great experience too. the service is also awesome. pricey but worth it

Used Groupon and arrived in time for Happy Hour...so drinks were $7 instead of $14. Light on n the alcohol. My daughter and I were there for dinner...we were amazed at the tiny portions. Seriously...overpriced. Not so special or authentic. This is a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles...I expect high end, excellent Mexican cuisine. Flagging a waiter for second drinks resulted in mixed orders...after we were finished with our meals. Only positive was the downtown outdoor sitting. Total with the Groupon was stilll $90+ and we needed a snack when we got home. We will not return!

Great place/Great Food & atmosphere with a live band. Special occasion visit for Mother's Day and was a little wary of the type of cuisine & food we would be served and we were pleasantly surprised. Food was awesome, unlimited mimosas and very tasty food. Will be back again for another occasion or just because. Keep up the great food. The fresh guacamole was fantastic.

The food here tastes great. Fantastic Mexican cuisine influenced by French, Cuban style. Highly recommend tacos asador (meat) and pescador (fish), ceviche ... But the molcajete (hot stone bowl) was divine. The only problem was that the service was slow. Maybe it was just the one server we had because when they temporarily switched the server, it was fine.

Went on a weekend and the place got pretty packed by 6. The drinks were good, but don't try to find a traditional margarita here. The flavors are tasty and well balanced. Dishes are not small, not gigantic either. Try the mocahete it's a bubbling cauldron of goodness. Really enjoyed the hand made tortillas too. Will be back soon.

Amazing guacamole, salsa and chips not to mention the mimosas!!! Nice outdoor atmosphere that is gun and upbeat!

I recommend Pez Cantina. It has solidly authentic Mexican tacos, made with good ingredients at reasonable prices. I was there at happy hour and each of my orders cost $7 (and there was a live cover band). I had the beer battered fish tacos. They were fluffy and flaky and tasty. I was still a little hungry because the tacos were small so I also had an Arugula salad. It had lots of cool ingredients like wheat nuts, manchego cheese, pommegranate, and dates. It was good but it could have been better with fewer ingredients (They got a little muddied. ) and more arugula. To drink I had a variation on the Margarita. It had tequila, grape fruit juice, agave and chile. It was refreshing and not too sweet. The ambiance is sleek and stylish with lots of little Mexican touches like a tiled fountain filled with fresh rose petals and colorful papel picado hanging over the patio.

Great food, drink selection and service! 40 dollar brunch with all you can drink mimosa or beer (mix n' match at your own risk). Our party was a group of 20 (birthday celebration) and during our whole time there our glasses were never empty. Great service and a beautiful atmosphere! Indoor or outdoor are available and fresh food. Definitely coming here again for a group setting or some one on one Sunday funday!!! Thank you again Pez Cantina, you guys are great!!!

Absolutely amazing high quality and fresh dinner menu! Very much recommended! Very good value! European Standard- no processed food, you can see and taste the freshness of this food. I would call it mexican fusion kitchen since it is not only fried stuff and tacos but really well combined and flavoured meals. If you have time pass by this place, you will not regret it but love it!

The downtown location is great for business travelers but the food is not much to talk about. The hanger steak was tender but the cauliflower mashers tasted old. The service was nice but overall the establishment is only average.

Pez Cantina approaches fine dining in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. My family and I selected an indoor table because the live latin band on the patio (Fridays and Saturdays) was too loud to hold a conversation. The chips, guacamole, and salsa were delicious ($12). My crispy salmon was piping hot, perfectly cooked, and arrived sooner than I expected ($25). My wife's cucumber smash drink wasn't worth the $12 charge. The check included a 3% "kitchen charge." My waiter did a poor job of explaining the menu options, had to be hunted down to refill the water glasses, and couldn't be found when I was ready for the check. I wouldn't rush back here.

For these kinds of prices, I expected an amazing experience. The service was terrible! They were very busy with people on the patio, and I was kind of ignored. It took 10 minutes before I got a glass of water. The hibiscus marguarita was $15, but tasted watered down, with a lot of ice. The burrito was good, although in retrospect, it said the filling had avocado, and I never saw any.

This eatery just recently opened in downtown L.A. on Grand Ave between 3rd and 4th St. The decor is nice, the place is bright and they serve good Mexican food. I tried the tacos with a side salad and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the salad was....not just iceberg lettuce with a couple of carrot shavings...lol. It was actually a nice salad with mixed greens, etc. and the dressing was delicious. The tacos were tasty as well, so was the watermelon lemonade. I'll be going there again, it's a great spot to eat lunch. They also have a cute little outside patio with umbreallas, etc., so you won't be basking in the sun.

Having to attend a meeting in the Omni Hotel in central LA we were looking for something casual in the area away from the hotel We stumbled on Pez Cantina. WE wanted to have something light so ordered both the beef and seafood tacos. The tacos were very good, Service was spot on.

My mom and I stopped here because it was close to our hotel and looked fun. Definitely upscale. We had a glass of wine and some crevice recommended by the waiter, It was good but way too spicy for me. Being a high end restaurant, pacing is slower than most places. But we weren't in a hurry so that was fine. Like most modern restaurants, it was too noisy for me. They had a live band which I always find a problem in restaurants since this never makes conversation easy.

My last day on vacation so I had to come here. Especially because it's Taco Tuesday this was a double whammy. I ordered myself for tacos de lengua which are absolutely amazing and my wife had the scallop tacos. Chef Brett here and the service are so cool and the service here is top-notch. We always enjoy coming here.

No sombreros, mariachi music, tostadas, cheap and cheerful food. Why bother? This is a very upmarket Mexican based restaurant with innovative food, excellent service, fab marguerites, a very nice wine list and a great range of tequila. We decided to miss the appetisers and head for the main meals. We chose fish, chicken, and steak and all were very good. My fish was arguably the best I have eaten (in more than sixty years). The decorations and atmosphere are restrained and even being able to look into the kitchen did not provide any excitement. All well controlled. I should have mentioned the guacamole we shared as a starter. Almost as good as we make at home (could have used a little Tabasco) and the corn chips were as good as they get. Highly recommended .

Nice downtown location w/great views of the various buildings and convenient to Disney Hall and the Music Center but overpriced for just ok chili relleno at $34. Beware of the chips and salsa at $7.00 a basket!

I have been to Pez a few times now and have enjoyed each visit. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is good. You can actually HEAR your friends as the noise level is moderate. They have an awesome outdoor area to dine. You have to pay for Chips and Salsa but the salsas are different and yummy (we love the Pineapple of course) and you do get bottomless chips that are made fresh. Their guacamole is AMAZING....I love that they don't water it down with "fillers" like most places do. This is straight up avocado with a little seasoning not a bunch of tomatoes and onions with a small amount of avocado like most places. I have tried a few of their tacos and really liked the carnitas, fish and shrimp. Now for dessert...Seriously the cheesecake tres leche heaven on a plate we ordered was AMAZING...I have dreams about that now...it was THAT GOOD! I really enjoyed Pez and will come back again and again...

In the relatively dull downtown Los Angeles Pez Cantina is a vibrant and cozy restaurant. I was served super delicious seafood and can highly recommend this restaurant.

Go for the happy hour and enjoy the tacos, the salad, the sangria and then the wonderful steak, side dishes and the apple fritters for dessert. Wow! great service, great food. Very festive - fun for an evening out in downtown LA.

We had a delicious lunch in a lovely outdoor patio--comfortable seating, fountain, florals. The food was delicious--I had an amazing arugula salad with an interesting combo of ingredients. My companions had a variety of delicious tacos. We started with an $8 salsa sampler that had 6 great salsas--very generous portions and homemade chips. We all agreed it was a great meal and experience!

Whether you visiting a MOCA, The Broad or Colburn School, staying at hotel, or enjoying a performance at the Music Center or Walt Disney Concert Hall — Pez is the perfect choice for any Grand Ave adventure. Chef Bret has created a menu for all tastes and appetites. The attentive staff makes you feel truly welcome while the patio opening into the dining room creates an oasis atmosphere in the midst of downtown L.A. bustle. Do not miss this amazing restaurant gem!

My husband and I were looking forward to returning to Pez after 2 years since it is our favorite restaurant to visit when seeing a performance downtown. But something has happened..it was just awful! Service and chips were fine but the queso fondito we always order was like a runny velveta and the guacamole a tasteless mashed avocado....ho flavor, texture or taste. The shrimp tostada had virtually no shrimp tasted of too much lime and nothing else but the worst was the vegan tostada. There are such good vegan places now, don't try to make it if you can't! Instead of cheese it had a sweet nut sauce that tasted just awful! We should have sent it back.. needless to say, we will not return.

Pez is usually my go to spot in DTLA. Not only is the food delicious but the service and the drinks are top notch. I highly recommend everything on the menu. I've almost tried everything. The cool thing is the outside seating when you're their for brunch it gives it a different feel. Chef Brett won't disappoint you. So good luck and happy eating. IG. ManWithAnAppetite.

We stopped for dinner before a LA Phil concert. We ate indoors, but it was a nice evening and the patio door was open to let in a nice breeze and fresh air. The food was outstanding, as were the palomas. Nice to find an upscale Mexican restaurant that isn't afraid to use peppers with a little heat to them.

Staying in DTLA we were just looking for a quick family dinner and came across Pez - what an unexpected treat!! Everything about the food here was amazing, the staff were really friendly and helpful (giving us some local tips for our 4 days in LA) and all the prices were very reasonable. I had the Blackened Ahi Tuna and can honestly say it was in my top 5 dishes of all time (and only $16!) and the side dish of corn was an absolute winner. The guac bowl they brought out with chips as a starter was huge and delicious. Great selection of beers, wines and cocktails too. I know that coming from Australia people have always said the Mexican food we get there isn't the real deal - and now I know why. This place has opened my taste buds - wanting more already!!!

I had dinner there and was warmly greeted by the wait staff and seated. After seeing the menu and not sure what to order, my waitress recommended Ceviche tostadas, they were great and I also have shrimp tacos which also great as well as their desert Tres Leches cake. The food is excellent and the staff was very nice and helpful. A great place for Mexican style sea food.

Got takeout earlier this month for our large work group, and then went back for dinner with my husband later the following week. The food was delicious & they had a variety of great tacos. But one week later, someone hacked the menu into little pieces & took off all of the things we had loved?!? Very disappointing. Would have otherwise given 4 stars.

Came from happy hour and only had a cocktail. It was excellent. Great selection of mezcal and tequila. Good service too.

We had good service and a delicious taco buffet. The salad was excellent. There were three meat fillings and one vegan/ vegetarian option. It was fun, fast and tasty.

This Restaurant was a little tricky to find for out-of-town people like us. We came in at about 6.30 PM, and informed them that we had a show to attend at 8 PM. They got us seated, served and done in record time. We were eight of us and each one ordered different things – Fish Tacos, Molcajete Surf and Turf, Steak Tacos, etc. Every dish was good and prepared with good quality ingredients. The starter Chips, Guacamole and Sauce with Poblano Chilies were fantastic. The Margaritas were strong and delicious. The portions are large. We were starving after a whole day of sightseeing, so the food hit the spot. The Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We would have no hesitation in returning here on our next trip to this coast.

There were 3 of us couples going to see "Ain't Too Proud", the life and times of the Temptations singing group. This, by the way, was a very good, sold out show. It had lots of songs sung with a good story line. After the show we had reservations at the Mexican restaurant, Pez Cantina. We were seated promptly and our waiter, Luis asked what we'd like to drink. The drinks came within a reasonable time and were well made. My wife and I ordered the Whole Fried Catch of the Day, a whole fish fried with a mouth watering sauce on top as the main dish and an appetizer, Shrimp Coctel Verde, which had shrimp, cucumber, tomato, avocado, lime, in a chilled shrimp broth. We shared both dishes and they both were delicious, both excellent. All 6 of us agreed that we'd go back to eat there, I don't think you'd be disappointed going to dinner at Pez Cantina.

If you need a great place for food before going to MOCA, the Broad, Disney Hall or seeing a play at the Ahmanson or the Taper this could be your place. Great high end gourmet Oaxacan Mexican food. Lovely craft cocktails with a huge tequila list. Heavily based in seafood and fresh innovative ingredients. I started with half dozen oysters i'm including the photo. Our amuse bouche of ceviche was a delight and put us at ease we were in for a culinary treat! The oysters came with incredibly fun accoutrements. Then i had what is one of the most light refreshing salads i've ever had! Tiny bits of watermelon, tomatoes, feta cheese, cucumber, spices, endive, and cucumber sorbet. My husband and i were thrilled with this palate cleansing salad. We also had fresh vegetables and guac and chips which were excellent. Nice touch to offer the veggies if you don't want the chips but do want the guac. I had cauliflower ad shrimp taquitos which i loved and he had a mix of steak, chicken, shrimp in a broth with tortillas that he loved! I don't eat meat but we could have shared that had it just been seafood. Our cocktails were inventive and delicious. The service was attentive, the busboys were able to quickly get our plates out of the way. They seemed to have music playing on the patio but we were inside. I'm attaching photos. We have found our new downtown spot for fresh yummy food and drink and we both left happy but not stuffed and miserable from too heavy of mexican food. We left happy and sated before our play.

Pez Cantina's food is tasty and well executed with a menu ranging from tacos to Pambazos (griddled Mexican sandwiches) and various seafood dishes, main course salads and sides. The is food is very good and fairly priced for a downtown, business lunch oriented place. Located within walking distance of the concert hall, it is a good choice for a pre-event meal or a business lunch.

We truly enjoyed our meal and experience at Pez. Started out with the required chips and salsa. Both were way better than the usual offerings at Mexican restaurants . . . very fresh and flavorful. Our salad selections were the wild arugula with manchego and the watermelon-avocado-jicama stack. Really delicious. Our entree selections included molcajete, grilled hanger asada, sea scallops with crispy pea-garbanzo empanada, shrimp and octopus serviche and corn esquites. Every dish was delicious and satisfying.Service was helpful and professional. Prices may seem a bit high since diners often expect Mexican food to be a bargain, but this is not your usual Mexican food . . . it is way better, fresher, more authentic and flavorful. The long Happy Hour (2:30 - 7:00) make drinking at Pez a bargain, especially in downtown LA. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, so just go and have a great time.

I had a 6:30 reservation last Friday for a pre-theater dinner. I figured an hour for dinner and then a leisurely walk up to the Ahmanson in plenty of time for the 8:00 show. We were seated promptly in the nearly empty back room and given menus, but it was about 10 mins before the waiter arrived. We gave him our drink and food order and told him we had theater tickets. A few minutes later a busboy brought us chips and salsa and then about 5 mins later we finally got some water. About 15 mins later, our food started to arrive. The shrimp taquitos, pez'n'chips and arugula salad were all delicious. The chilaquiles were basically just nachos and were incredibly salty. We'd ordered two margarita frescas — one pineapple and one watermelon — from the happy hour menu. The waiter stopped by our table after we'd received our food and we let him know that we didn't have our drinks yet. He went to the bar to check on them and came back to inform us that the drink order didn't get submitted, but he put it through again and it would be just a couple minutes. Throughout the meal, our small water glasses were only refilled once. We tried to flag down a busboy a couple times to no avail. So finally we ended up grabbing a carafe off the service stand and serving ourselves. As we were finishing up our dinner, the waiter finally brought our margarita frescos. The menu had described "muddled seasonal fruit", but my drink was basically huge chunks of pineapple with a bit of weak margarita around it. There was so much fruit that it was difficult to drink. The watermelon margarita was only mildly better. The waiter did agree to take the drinks off our bill, but he never returned to the table to pick up the check and our credit card. We were running so late at this point because of all his delays, that we resorted to cobbling together enough cash to cover the bill and a 10% tip for him before hurrying off to the theater. I'll probably give Pez Cantina another try because the food was generally good. But hopefully they'll iron out their service issues.

The good and the bad. The bad. Small portions that do not match the price. Innovative ideas like queso fundido with chorizo and lamb but lacks in flavor. Octopus with shrimp cocktails are impressive looking but skimpy in quantity. Mezcal margaritas cocktails are good but to much ice and not enough cocktail The good.Hand made tortillas. They have a happy hour 4 to 7 and free comp parking inside garage. Oh yes, they charge 3 bucks for chips and salsa ! ..

I lunched at Pez Cantina between visits to the Broad and MOCA on a recent Sunday. My friend and I were part of a larger group that was making the circuit. Lunch had been pre-ordered for us so I really can't remember what I had. I just know that it was good. I would come back if I were in the neighborhood. What amazed me most was just how crowded they were on Sunday. Apparently Los Angeles is bustling with people who actually live downtown and those, like myself, that find it an actual destination. This is a change from the days when downtown was deserted on Saturday and Sunday.

Downtown just keeps getting better! With the Broad Museum opening across from LACMA, Pez is down the street for you to enjoy before or after your artsy day. Open lunch and dinners and for certain Sunday brunches, call for reservations. I love the Mexican Ceasar salad, ceviche, tacos, taquitos, chips, guacamole and salsa and the churros for dessert. I especially like the cocktails here. There's a spicy mezcal margarita thats incredibly delicious. The happy hour has a fun crowd and the outdoor patio is the perfect place for it. There's even a live band on some nights to dance to.

What a great find! It was a 10 minute walk from our hotel and we were able to sit outside on a beautiful night. The cuisine was southwestern and offered a wide range of entrees, all prepared a little differently than we had been exposed to. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The ceviche tostadas were amazing for an appetizer and the seafood stew was incredible.

Came here for a business lunch and scoured the menu for vegetarian options. The chips and salsa were good -- the chips were fresh fried and a little thicker than usual. I had a cauliflower taco which honestly had little flavor. But there were really good roasted brussels sprouts and had a nice char and a lot of flavor. That made the meal memorable. We sat outside on such a nice day, and it was a nice experience. I'd come back here.

What a find in downtown LA. Each dish was served beautifully. Chips were house made along with a mild but spicy salsa. I had scallops that were perfect. Two appetizers were fabulous. Highly recommend

Got the chance to enjoy a few glasses of wine on the outdoor patio and very much enjoyed my evening. The staff was extremely professional, polite, and very attentive. The outdoor patio is very nicely decorated with a pretty nice fountain in the middle. A very cool place to just relax and enjoy a few drinks!

I expected the restaurant to be much better. Got there at 3:45pm only to find out after I ordered guacamole that there was no dinner menu until 5pm. Was charged $3 for salsa I didn’t order but the waiter took it off the bill. Service was slow. Won’t go back.

I went to Pez Cantina with a group from work. We were in an area where we could all visit easily. the wait staff were very attentive and kept all glasses (water or drinks) filled. The appetizers were excellent with home made guacamole and various other dipping sauces and salsas. the food was unique with many more seafood related. I had spicy ahi tuna tostadas that were absolutely to die for. All the food looked delicious that others ordered.
Great Find and Amazing Staff
Came across this fabulous Mexican restaurant/bar while wandering solo in DTLA. After being seated, I realised I’d left my wallet behind when I headed out and had just $20 on me. I had planned to leave but the staff here could not have been more kind and accommodating. Had a fabulous margarita fresh chips and salsa. I will visit again this week to sample the food because if the drinks are any indication of the quality here, the food will be fabulous. Thanks Damian and the crew, this Aussie is very grateful. 100
