Pho Bac is Authentic and Delicious

By travelfourless |

Been here many times. Authentic Vietnamese food and very good Pho soup. A little out of the way on Buford Highway, but you won't be disappointed.

Pho and so much more!

By MrsJAtlanta |

I always get shrimp pho, medium size, and it it SO GOOD! Tastes best on a chilly, rainy day in late fall or winter. So hard to believe an old strip mall would have such a great Vietnamese restaurant. Simple decor, affordable and yummy food. Eat here!

Great food with quick "To go" service!!

By MoovinOn |

I chose vermicelli and grilled pork. The food was fresh and well prepared. I ordered my food to go and it was ready in a little over five minutes.

Tasteless

By Meowy |

I was here for lunch during a business trip to Atlanta. The staff is attentive and helpful and the portions they give you are very generous. The problem I had was that the food was very bland and tasteless. I have eaten Vietnamese food plenty of times before and always love the flavors and spices. Unfortunately, the food here was the equivalent of eaten air or cardboard. I would recommend giving this place a skip as there are plenty more Southeast Asian restaurants in the area.

Great Viet food

By Thebrownkidblog |

I always enjoy coming here and enjoying a bowl of pho with some friends. Pho bac is pretty big and has a great menu! Also enjoy the great service and a fruit smoothie!

Good Vietnamese option

By Rather_Nomadic |

Great pho with rich broth and good meat. The bahn mi sandwich was amazing and their spring rolls were tasty. Great prices too. Friendly service.

Best Bun on Buford Highway!

By happy_in_paris_10 |

Simple plain restaurant with wonderful food and service! We love bun, and cha gio and spring rolls. No need to go anywhere else! For the uninitiated, bun is a layered salad, pasta and grilled meat dish! Salad greens on the bottom, rice vermicelli in the middle layer, pickled carrots, radishes, crumbled peanuts and the grilled meat of shrimp of your choice on top. Yummmmmm...I got the grilled shrimp one and my husband got the lemongrass chicken bun. So good! So reasonable! So hungry for it, that I want more just thinking about it.

Excellent Pho

By Steve K |

I ordered the pho with rare steak to go. Everything was packed carefully and separately and in abundance. The steak was still rare and delicious 5 hours later. The broth was a little bland, but when I added everything, very good. The place looked nice, and I expect to return to eat in.

Good...even tastier food would make it excellent

By Havasupai123 |

I come to this restaurant every couple months. The service is always good. The prices are very reasonable. It seems to me the food is good but not the absolute best Vietnamese food I have had, I have written reviews about a restaurant that made (without any doubt) better Cha Gio and a different restaurant which definitely had better Banh Mi. I also get the pho at Pho Bac frequently and find it good but not the best. I am very glad this place is here. It is reliable and good. I will keep looking for a Vietnamese restaurant in Atlanta that is excellent.

My favorite Pho in ATL....

By AtyourLeisure |

I tried most the other places in ATL looking for good Pho, and this is our favorite. Both my teenagers insist on joining me for Pho, whenever we head that way. They are in a cleaner strip shopping center than some of the others close by, and the food and service is better in my opinion. Others are good, but this is our preferred. Enjoy.

Four of us stopped in for

By Milthill |

Four of us stopped in for our first visit to Pho Bac. Three ordered medium bowls of pho while I ordered a small bowl of chicken pho and three spring rolls. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. The small bowl of pho and two spring rolls was the perfect quantity for me. I added nearly everything to my pho except the jalapeño slices. The pho was tasty, with both white and dark chicken meat, and enough quantity for me since I had the spring rolls, which were also tasty. The sauce accompanying the spring rolls was vital for enjoying them.

I want to eat here every day

By 2muze |

By far the best pho I've had in my mouth in Atlanta. Tried lots of pho places in Gwinnett, that I thought were pretty good... but now Pho Bac has raised the bar and I will gladly make the drive to eat here. Have tried the pho, sandwiches, drinks and appetizers. Everything is amazing and very reasonable prices.

The best Pho in town

By Denise S |

I go to the restaurant all the time, never thought to write a review. Its funny because I have been to Pho restaurants all across county, this one by far is my favorite. The staff is friendly and if you go there as much as we do they know you by name.

Excellent Pho Ga

By sarlsar |

The broth was superb and chicken meat tender. So good that I ordered extra to take home for later enjoyment. The rice noodles in pho were perfect for my gluten-free diet too.

Great Pho

By valerie p |

I almost always stick with the same dis: pho ga (Vietnamese chicken noodle soup) and have never been disappointed. Spring rolls and avocado smoothie are excellent, too.

Great pho

By HanawaltB |

Very good. May be the best in Atlanta. The best meat in pho of any place I have eaten. The online menu doesn't line up with the one in the restaurant. Very Hot Broth. The extra large bowl is big and filling.

Eat here once and never go anywhere else

By Marco R |

I been going here for 20 plus years. I made the mistake of trying others and wasted my time. This is the best place on earth for Pho. I even tried in Virginia and Ohio and there is no comparison. This is perfection. They do so much business here that is all fresh and they have been making a profit for decades and are more concern about quality and satisfaction then trying to make a dollar on you.

above average pho

By travelswithjh |

We have eaten here several times; considering there are many Pho Shops in Atlanta we would not return if the soup was not good. The Pho is above average with good meat quanties. The coffee was excellent as was the service.

First time

By longroller |

Great food, great value. Can not wait to go back and try some more. Was very impressed with the freshness and quantity.

Best Pho I've Had!

By Mike |

Unassuming place with a large amount of seating. There are many options for pho, and it comes out quick. The broth is very flavorful and staff are very attentive. I keep going back!

Excellent Vietnamese Comfort Food

By GPBurdell67 |

Winter returned in force to Atlanta, so we thought about a way to warm up. The answer -- big bowls of pho! Pho Bac is located in a strip center on the main multi-ethnic corridor in NE Atlanta. You have your choice of literally hundreds of Asian and Hispanic restaurants. Pho Bac serves Vietnamese comfort food -- pho (soup), bahn mi (sandwiches) and other specialities. The three of us tried the pho, two beef and one shrimp. The service was quick and efficient. The soup was terrific: flavorful broth, lots of beef and shrimp, a huge clump of noodles and mounds of bean sprouts and greens to add as desired. Also served were hot peppers and many condiments such as rooster sauce. Prices were quite reasonable given the quantity and quality of the food. We will return.

tough beef

By Tyung2014 |

raw beef is easy to cook, as long is thinly sliced & tender. But cooked beef takes the right simmering like beef brisket or tendon. Went there because of other reviews. Pho soup base was good & hot. Bean sprout & other Vegetables freshly on side. Unfortunately the cooked beef( beef plate) was tough & chewy. It wasn't cooked properly before it was served.

Great family good and quick also.

By drfloodgates |

This place is a home away from Vietnam. I been coming here for the past 20 years. It has always been great. I usually order a pork banh mi, beef ball pho and a rice dish. Today I had a Medium Pho dac biet, 3 cha gio, and 2 ice coffee with condensed milk. Everything tasted delicious and tasted like a home cooked meal in Vietnam. I usually bring all my biker friends here after riding. The meals are quick and service is always on point. Service is a bit slow when busy but that's anywhere. I will be back to stuff my face in a couple days.

Our favorite pho restaurant on Buford Hwy!

By Terry S |

We often go on the weekends on our way to Buford Farmer's market. Great Vietnamese food. Really nice family that runs the restaurant and very good service. The pho, ban mi, spring rolls are our favorites and outstanding. We've always had an excellent meal, no matter what we've ordered.

Fast, Friendly, Hot!

By wandis2020 |

Ambiance is nothing special, however, the service was quick and friendly and the pho noodle soup that I ordered was tasty.

EXCELLENT!!

By myalynn28 |

This place has the most awesome pho around!! It's definitely authentic! You know you are at a good and genuine asian/thai restaurant when the customers are asian/thai. I can't wait to go back!!!!

Big Pho Little Price

By michael p |

There is nothing special inside this little restaurant except the food. You get a lot and it is good and what makes it even better is that it is cheap. This is basic, no frills food but it is filling and it comes out quickly. This was my first time but I know I will be back.

Great Pho

By Ken L |

Pho Bac is about authentic as you can get. Really good food and service. I don't live nearby but this place is worth the drive. There are many menu options, even vegetarian.

New to Vietnamese Loves the Pho

By Ken P |

Consider this review suitable for curious beginners only. Had been wanting to try Vietnamese food for a while, but never got around to it until some workies brought me along and it was an experience that left me kicking myself for not trying it sooner, And so far have only tried a couple of beef dishes but I must share the experience of my first encounter - as the bowl was set on the table and its aroma settled around me it was unlike any soup I could remember. My eyes remained closed for some time, probably a few people thought I was offering a prayer. Maybe I was. The other facets of the meal provided just as much pleasure. As this review caters to the novice a few caveats might prove useful - it's in an area where English is a third language but that's OK the traffic signs are fine; forks are provided but chopsticks seem to work better; the decor appeals more towards followers of Anthony Bourdain than of Alton Brown. Would not be surprised to find myself eating lunch there tomorrow,

Great Food Pho Cheap

By Brett G |

I visited Pho Bac for the first time this weekend because of a recommendation. The place was pretty busy for 3 pm on a Sunday, but we were sat quickly. Waters were placed on the table as we sat down, which was much appreciated. I ordered the small bowl of Pho Tai, which is thinly sliced beef served rare in broth. This was the best pho I've had, though I will say that my experience is pretty limited as I have been a ramen guy since my time in Japan. The broth was the real winner here. We also ordered the cold spring rolls with peanut sauce and a grilled pork bahn mi. The spring rolls were pretty good and tasted about like the type does anywhere. However, the bahn mi was exceptional. The bread was very crusty and fresh and the meat was perfectly marinated. I could have used a little more pickled vegetables, but overall, I was very pleased with the meal.

Pho

By Ewellons |

Excellent pho. This is the go to place on Buford highway for good pho. The place is simple and the service quick. Spring rolls are good as well.

Wide variety of fast, competent Vietnamese

By TimBeaver99 |

Whether you are getting soup, noodles, sandwiches or other Vietnamese dishes, we've found everything here to be good. The service is prompt and the dining area is large and casual in a typical long-table style. What you get when you order will meet expectations.

Food pho

By Pino P |

Good pho at a good price with a good service! I ordered a pho with beef meat balls. It was really nice. Good portion size and made with fresh ingredients..you can tell by the taste!

Tremendous place

By Kegan36604 |

The first sign of a good ethnic restaurant (in my opinion) is waling in and figuring I'm the only one who speaks English. In other words, the whole place looked like Vietnamese folks who came for the "home cooking". This place did not disappoint. The menu was extensive, the prices extremely reasonable and the service spot on. The place is big, a little noisy and not fancy. You'll have a great meal here. Go. You won't be disappointed.

Good Pho Options

By oceanquest33 |

Buford has many VNamese Restaurants. Actually, have not found a bad VN Pho Restaurant, but Pho Bac is consistent with excellent Pho and VNamese sandwich. They offer Small, Medium and Large.... Medium is normally more than enough but if you have a appetite try the Large, but chances are you will not be able to finish it.

Great Pho and Service

By Lexapher |

We were visiting Atlanta and chose this restaurant based on reviews. The pho here is fantastic, flavorful broth (and it's all about the broth) and fresh noodles. I've been to pho restaurants where old chewy noodles ruin the dish. We had shrimp spring rolls which were also very fresh and our bubble drinks were excellent. The missing star is because we also had a bbq pork chops and rice dish which I found a little tough and bland. Wish we were local to try more dishes here because the service was very nice, prices reasonable and I would definitely come back for pho!

always yummy

By sarahsaurusrex |

I have been coming here for over six years now. the pho and bubble tea are delicious. always quick service.

Fast service fabulous food

By michael p |

We were a group of 60 and still they were able to serve us fast and all of it was delicious. I love the fact that there dishes come in three sizes. I would always elect the extra large and have enough food for the next day.

First time fan.

By Danhoang |

We only stayed in Atlanta for one night, with friend recommendation we stopped by Phở Bắc for dinner. Let me tell you, it was very good. We called for Phở (hot noodle soup with beef broth) and cơm tấm. Both were well received. We recommend you to stop by and enjoy it. Now, the price is very affordable. The portion was a bit more than where we came from. Conclusion: good food. Affordable

Fantastic Pho!

By DemiNewell |

Authentic warming pho house with speedy friendly service no matter the time of day. Long tables are great for big groups. Save room for boba after your meal.

Best Pho in ATL!

By matt d |

Awesome Pho. I have been to a lot of other places and they don't compare. It is all about the broth and they have got it down.

Great value for take-out

By rlszoey |

We had a hankering for pho and this place had good reviews. It was quick service and very pleasant staff. They even gave us a table where we could wait, rather than standing at the door, and glasses of water - just a nice touch. When the food came out each of us had an entire grocery sack for our order of pho! Each sack had a full container of their delicious broth; a take-out container full (and I mean full) of meat, tons of noodles, green onions, white onions & cilantro; and a bag full of bean sprouts, whole sprigs of Thai basil, lime wedges, and sliced hot peppers. It was delicious and we're definitely going back.

Two price increases with prices listed online false and much cheaper

By Susie C |

We liked this place and went several times a month but with two high price increases, they are way out of line for a simple lunch kitchen. They now call their large soup extra large but it is the large soup we have always gotten and it is over14.00! The little small lunch soup is 9.75 before tax and tip! There are better places to spend your money. The prices online are false.

Get the bhan mi

By Zippy P |

It's a tight fit as the place is small and crowded with diners (that's a great sign, right?), but the prices are amazing for generous portions of serious eats. I wish they offered Pho Thai, as I don't care for the fattier meats used in pho, but the Bhan mi sandwiches are terrific.

First Taste of Pho

By sporttke |

This was my first taste of Pho and it didn't disappoint! We had some appetizers (wings and spring rolls) and then bowls of Pho. Definitely didn't need the appetizers. The pho was large and filling. If you haven't had Pho before... taste it before you add the chili garlic. I was definitely sweating a little bit afterwards but the taste was really good and the service was fantastic.

LOVE it/REGULAR/Wonderful hosts

By Eco-Adventure-traveler |

I love this place. When you come in they re so friendly. Food always fresh and you leave with a full tummy. Don miss this for Pho or ban mi or their great spring rolls!

Despite the locale, very good

By Godfrey S |

A cafe/restaurant in a small mall doesn't look very promising, but surrounded by Vietnamese shops and warehouses you feel it is likely to be good. Busy but fast. Basic and without intimate ambience, the food was good, plentiful and cheap. Walls of mirrors at each end of the room made it look as though it was huge (French legacy I presume). Way out of the downtown but a favourite of CDC personnel.

Best Pho in Altanta

By C3ontheroad |

The place to go to for the best Pho in Atlanta. Tasty broth. Large portions. Other dishes are fine too. But probably best known for pho. Service is ok. They take your order, bring out the food & won't see the waiter coming back again.

Great new find

By Kimpbrooks |

Friends introduced us to Pho Bac. We had one pho dish and one bun dish. The food was great. The service was also great. The food came to the table promptly. Definitely another excellent authentic find on Buford Hwy.

Excellent Flavor!!!

By Jerry M |

We had an excellent server “High”! He explained the menu to help us along. We were sad they were out of chicken wings. However the chili sauce was great! The BUN.. dish was great! Will return

Clean friendly good pho

By CVictorT |

Love this pho restaurant. Fast service. Pho, sandwich, and bubble tea all good. Reasonable price. You can see people from all races loving this place. Come try it.

Looking for the perfect Bun? Found it!

By happy_in_paris_10 |

So good, we ate there 3 days in a week! I'm a Bun fanatic and I may have found the perfect Bun! Their Bun Thit Nuong (bun with grilled pork) and Bun Ga Nuong Sa (bun with lemongrass chicken) are outrageously wonderful! They have the most wonderful mix of greens as a base, and will add or modify your order as requested. Lots of sauces on the table as well as the sauce served with it. Also excellent - their cha gio (fried spring rolls) and their Goi Cuon (Vietanmese spring rolls) with shrimp, pork and vegetables...) My huband loves their Bahn Mi (French sandwiches with all the wonderful Vietnamese vegatables and your choice of meat...)He likes the Bahn MiGa Nuong...If we lived near Buford Highway, we would eat there every day til we worked our way through the menu!

Great Phu!

By AprilFNP |

Was exactly what I was looking for. Great atmosphere!! Very good variety. Love diversity! This was my first time with bubble tea. Yummy!!
