This is our go-to pho place when we get the craving, which is pretty often. The waiters are always attentive. Your cup of water is hardly ever empty. The value can't be beat. I usually get pho tai chin and my boyfriend gets pho ga. Both broths are seasoned well enough to eat without any additions, but who eats pho without adding their own flavors to it?! I'm guilty of hoarding all the thai basil. The eggrolls and spring rolls are also great. Not better than mom's but pretty good. I like this location better than the one in Mira Mesa. It's a shorter drive, better decor, and friendlier staff.

When I served in Viet Nam in 1967 I encountered Pho on the streets of Vung Tau. I thought it was delicious. I recently found this restaurant and gave it a try. While the Pho did not taste the same as I remembered it 46 years ago, it was very good and the portions were huge. It was also a great value. The place was also packed. This is casual dining place. They have beer, I had the Vietnamese brand, but not much else on the alcohol menu. This is a great place to get a filling meal at reasonable price with excellent service and we will return often.

This was an very nice place. My wife and I truly enjoyed it. The rare brisket pho was especially delicious and the Tropical Mango refresher was excellent. The service VERY fast and extremely accommodating. Definitely a great place to have a light and tasty dinner at a reasonable price.

We both had noodle bowls and they were good. Lots of crisp fresh vegetables and meat (chicken and beef) which was tender. The Spring Rolls were OK -- nothing special

Popular with the locals, no wonder. Pho was phabulous, really fresh and tasty. Our first time and the servers were helpful and attentive, especially with making suggestions.

Excellent presentation Large portions and wonderful spices and flavored well Good service - appears family owned

Six of us went for dinner. We asked them not to put MSG in the food. The waiter did not seem to understand what MSG was. The bowl of feef noodle soup was plain noodle with hardly any beef in it, and did not come with the usual basil and bean sprouts to put in the soup. The broth tasted strong, most likely from the MSG. After dinner we had so much headache from the MSG. I guess we got what we paid for. But I would not go back to this restaurant anymore.

I stopped by and loved this place. Brightly lite, friendly decor, nice bar. I really enjoyed the Pho. I would definitely love to stop by for a full meal. This place was so clean the bathrooms were clean. I'll be back

Recently opened and located in a local strip mall. A fairly large restaurant with plenty of seating (booths and tables). Our family of four had the bowls of Pho which were just average. The spring rolls were served almost ice cold, as if they took some of he ingredients out of the frig and made the rolls. Service was quick and the price was right, less than $30 dollars for four people. There is another Pho restaurant about 1 mile from this one that we have been going to for years, I'm fairly certain that we will go back there as we were just trying the new place and it is nothing special.

I stopped by this restaurant because I love Pho. Been to Vietnam many times and I know my various Pho, my Vietnamese Coffee, etc. And let me tell you, the place was packed (with good reason), the PHO is as good as it gets in San Diego. What a broth, my goodness! I was fighting a cold and knew this would be just what I needed and sure enough, I awakened the next day feeling as good as new. The beef and chicken Pho were amazing, the Thai basil was super fresh (wasn't expecting that), and the coffee was insanely good. I highly recommend it. And, I think that Rancho Bernardo is very lucky to have such a restaurant in the mix.

Seriously, this place must be good - it was crazy packed and it's in a strip mall! I can only go by the one visit. They staff was quick and responsive (though not especially friendly), food served fast, and totally delicious. It was efficient and good, with super low prices.

I had the C11 Grilled chicken and it was most excellently seasoned and was a very good choice considering the Vast selections. It was lunch time so they were packed, however the wait was a short one. I will return as often as I can.

My husband and I found this restaurant online and rating is pretty high so decided to give it a try. The food is very good and the price is very reasonable. The service was very quick. I definitely want to go back. The spring roll was very fresh and the soup was tasty. The dry noodle bowl had lots of vegetables and the pork was tasty.

Very good, but not much English spoken. Food of good quality, and fast service. Am allergic to fish and fish products, and they could and did accommodate. One of the places where vegan and non-vegan can dine together pleasantly.

Located in beautiful Rancho Bernardo just off I-15 Pho Ca Dao offers a clean and nicely decorated atmosphere to enjoy truly outstanding Vietnamese cuisine. The menu includes all the popular soups and plates. The service was very good and the prices were surprisingly low. I had one of the combination bowls and the size of the portion was huge and delicious. Looking for something different, I Highly recommend this place.

We've eaten at this location many times and also at Pho Ca Dao in Mira Mesa. We've never been disappointed. Our typical meal consists of spring rolls, pho and iced jasmine tea. We've tried and loved all of the spring roll selections and about a third of the pho selections. Our current favorite pho is #25 that features marinated beef that is cooked on a grill. The pho comes in two sizes with the large costing slightly more than the regular size. We rarely can finish the regular size pho. There are times when we didn't have a huge appitite and ordered a large pho and an extra bowl so that we can split the large. The service is always quick, responsive and attentive.

This was the first time we have ever eaten at a Vietnamese restaurant. My husband was ready to leave because he couldn't understand the menu but just a few questions for the wait staff put us on the right track. My husband was so pleased that he was ready to go back the next day!

The restaurant came with a rave review so we gave it a try. The place was packed with customers. Luckily we did not have to wait but after sitting down a queue stated to build up. I recommend arriving early of meal times. We had shrimp spring rolls, grilled meal in soft rolls, stewed beef over rice and two pho with brisket. Everything was delicious and the price was very reasonable. A must if you are in the area.

While staying at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, my husband and I were craving a walk and a night away from the business conference dinner at the Inn. We set out on foot- it is about 1.5 miles from the Inn. Turned out to be a great choice! We had an order and a half of egg rolls and Bun with chicken. Delicious, clean, fast and friendly service. It was crowded on a Tuesday night around 7pm - evidence of its popularity and convenience. Kid/family friendly too. We'll be back!

You'll never go thirsty here! They refill your water glass before you can barely drink a 4th of it. But their prices are great and their food is yummy and fresh. I come here for the vermicelli dishes and love V5, the grilled pork with egg rolls. The spring rolls (without the pork) are also my favorite appetizer! These guys are friendly and nice. Lunch time is CRAZY!!! Come before noon or after 1 for no waiting.

My husband is a vegetarian and ordered the spring rolls with tofu and the tofu noodle bowl with egg rolls. The tofu is firm and delicious, grilled— actually barbecued with grill marks on it— and tastes like actual barbecue. Best ever. I had the chicken bowl, which was also delicious. Bustling place with very attentive servers, some with limited English but communicating special requests worked out OK somehow. If you like your sauces on the mild side, you may want to ask for them without chili, as that's the default there. (Peanut sauce and fish sauce both came with a good bit of spicy red chili added but mild is available.)

We enjoyed Pho Ca Dao. Pho Ca Dao was a short downhill walk from our hotel in a strip mall. Isn’t everything these days? The service was very good and quite friendly. We shared charbroiled shrimp spring rolls that were excellent. For an entrée, we shared “V10”, charbroiled chicken with a fish sauce, vermicelli, sprouts, green onions and pickled carrots. Both dishes were most excellent, fresh and nicely presented. To us it was very telling that at least half of the clientele were Asians. Obviously, Pho Ca Dao is doing something right. We are definitely not experts on Vietnamese cuisine but the food was excellent. We’d return any time we’re in the area.

N4 with steak, tripe - broth was ok - Egg rolls- meeeehhh fish sauce was nice 👍🏻- service whatevesssss - they had a robot serving that I thought was cool. We are from LA & we know food 🍲.

The place is clean, well decorated and the food is good. The waiters need a little bit more training to enhance their good service. For example the could serve guests their dishes by their left hand side instead of crossing the dishes in front of others guests risking an accident. Prices are reasonable.

This is a casual restaurant that serves excellent Vietnamese food. Go for the Pho 'cause their broth is excellent, but you really can't go wrong 'cause everything they serve is delicious & fresh. The staff is quick & the prices are fair for what you get.

As we were walking in, there was a customer who was complaining about how his soup came in first followed much later on by the appetizer that he ordered. We informed the female wait staff that took our order that my sister's bill will be separate as she will expense account it. The food that came in was good and the restroom was clean. However, when our bill came in, it was in just one bill and I informed the male wait staff that we told the other staff that my sister's bill was to be separate. Imagine my annoyance when that very same staff proceeded to asked me about what I ordered instead of asking my sister! It was San Diego's top place to eat on 2010 but with the spotty service that they now have, it might be hard for them to achieved that recognition again.

You know, when my Vietnamese friends tell me that this is their 'go-to' place, I know it's something to be taken seriously. This place is typically packed, with a waiting line. In addition to a great variety of Pho soups, there are rice and noodle dishes. Everything that we have tried has been good, but we typically opt for the P23, chicken Pho and Vietnamese egg rolls. Know that the 'standard' size Pho is typically more than one person can eat.

A clean restaurant in a strip mall that didn't seem to be anything special but the food (Beef Stew Pho) was really, really good. We were staying at the Rancho Bernardo Inn and I'd eat at this place again, in a heart beat.

GREAT banh mi sandwich. Great pho. Other food also great. But as good as this place is, Pho Truc Xanh in Escondido is better. And the PCD location in Mira Mesa has a better menu and larger portions. But if you aren't in the mood to travel that far, this place is EXCELLENT.

I'm updating my top 3 pho across USA with this place. The broth is very good and the pho is cooked perfectly too. The service is fast and friendly. The dishes came out fast and fresh unlike some Pho places that took a while to bring the pho out so the pho became too soft and stick together. The price is very good too, less than $8 for the large special pho.

We have been to this place a few times since it opened several years ago because of its location being near our residence. The spring egg rolls were good; the barbeque chicken was little dry; the chicken pho was ok but not tasty. There are much tastier Vietnamese restaurants in Mira Mesa area. Servers were friendly and efficient.

This Pho ca Dao location in RB is a really good one! Clean, fast service; and they're all really nice in there and are constantly filling your water glass! Ample parking and whether you're with a large group (say a group of 8), or with less company, you get your food fairly quickly! This has become one of my favorite places to get the Vietnamese meal I crave... That said, I wouldn't say I'm a Pho connoisseur; I actually never order Pho-- I get the Bún thịt nướng (yeah, I had to look that up). Here's the wikipedia description: A thin rice vermicelli served cold with grilled marinated pork chops and fish sauce, with julienned daikon and carrot. This is my favorite Vietnamese dish and the only thing I ever get when I go to a Pho place. I've recently started ordering this with the egg rolls too (menu item V5).. YUM! The meat is absolutely fresh and delicious! Order a large, you get more noodles and more meat for not much more than $1.50. It's always good for a second meal (for the lighter eater), as long as you don't pour all your fish sauce in when you stick it in the to-go box. Otherwise you get soggy noodles the next day. Oh and the fish sauce isn't really fishy at all.. just adds that little bit of flavor to juicyness to the vermicelli noodles.

Tasty plentiful served hot great service can't go wrong with the food here. Price is so affordable I look forward to the choices every time I come

We sought a "low calorie" dinner and found it here. We both had a large bowl of noodle soup, with prawns or beef, and tea. The waiter explained us how to compose our meal with additional herbs. The restaurant is run by Vietnamese, and the taste was really authentic South-East Asean (I have to admit that we never visited Vietnam, but Thailand is known territory for us). We had to pay about $21.

While in Rancho Bernardo for one night we looked up Yelp reviews and good eats and stumbled Into this place with great reviews. Walking in the door clean, and good service, Love the menu with pictures and explanation of items in the food. Loved their pork spring roll and their rare steak pho.

Friendly staff, good food, fast service, good value. Always seems to be busy but the staff will seat you quickly and get your order started.

Obviously, nothing is as good as the Pho broth in Hanoi, but this chain restaurant does a great job of serving Pho with rich broth and very quick service. I've been going to this place for a couple years now and the new renovation and change has made it even better. They also have several different flavors of smoothies with boba! Can't beat this place for an economical quick bowl of Pho and other Vietnamese cuisine.

Hands down my favorite pho spot in northern San Diego. Service is always good and the pho is what I come back for time and time again. I love this place - best Ca Dao in San Diego.

Cheap Pho - fast and yummy. We love this place. Lots of items to choose from - you can't go wrong. The egg rolls are not the best I have had, but they are decent. Try it if you are in the mood for pho

Recently went and while the food is still good (not amazing) the use of moldy towels to wipe down tables make the food taste toxic. At first I thought it was a customer that smelled moldy but then could see it was all the rags used to wipe down tables. Made me wonder about the true cleanliness of the place.

This was my first experience with Vietnamese pho, so as a newbie, I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the chicken pho bowl, and after adding in the provided chili oil, basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lime, it was super flavorful. The prices are low, the portions are large, and the service is fast. The place is popular, so even mid-week, the dining room was quite full when we arrived at 7:30pm. And if you haven't tried pho, this is a great place to get initiated. I will be back!

The soup is tasty. Got meatballs with noodles. Also pork spring rolls. Fast service. Love it. Walking distance of my hotel. Veggie pho also good.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to! It's very clean and bright despite being really busy! Loved my roasted pho soup. My nephew had the raw pho and he said it was fantastice!

Each time we go to Pho Ca Dao, we usually order their pho with the rare meat and a side of fresh spring roll. They have generous amount of side aromatic leaves and mung bean sprouts. Some of the servers recognize us already and seat us in our favorite booth (if available). They're very quick in their drink refills especially the water, that you have to stop them in their tracks :)

My husband and I often make fun of the statement that a restaurant should be good, fast and cheap, knowing how hard it will be to find a restaurant that fits these criteria. Actually, Pho Ca Dao and Grill is Great, fast and cheap. The egg rolls and summer rolls are amazing. Once ordered, they are swiftly dispatched to the table in an almost elegant manner by two servers. We found the pork summer rolls better than the shrimp, but you will be fine with either. Their vermicelli pork and grilled shrimp dish was also excellent.. We ate there four times and could not really get past eating the rolls, though others at this busy restaurant ordered delicious looking Pho and rice dishes. Anyway, you won't be sorry and you can admire the fish tank while you will be barely waiting for your dinner!

On our trip to Rancho-Bernardo, we ate at this place three times in a row. It tells you how much we like its food. I am from Taiwan. We eat Vietnamese food all the time. This place can be the top 3 Vietnamese restaurants on our list. It is cheap, fast, and tasty. The furniture in this restaurant is old a worn out. However, for the price you are paying, you should not expect that much. I also drink Vietnamese coffee in every Vietnamese restaurant. The coffee at this place, however, is not that impressive. Just eat their food. Do not order the coffee.

My daughter and I ate here while visiting San Diego and the food was FANTASTIC! We each had one of the bun dishes. I've never eaten at a Vietnamese restaurant so we were kind of "rolling the dice" but saw so many good reviews for Pho Ca Dao and we were also very pleased. The food was delicious and the service was speedy and friendly.

The pho broth was absolutely amazing!!! We loved everything. The fresh spring rolls were also very tasty. It's top on our lists in Rancho Bernardo!!!

The food is consistently delicious. The menu lists a variety of food items, including soups, rice dishes, and noodle dishes. The service is consistently great. I am always greeted warmly by the staff. Their kindness has inspired me to plan a vacation to Vietnam :-) Prices are reasonable; the total bill for a family of three is typically $25-$30 - including tip. I go there once per week and will continue to do so. It's hard to find consistently good food at one restaurant nowadays...

The spring rolls were all I had for take out but they were great and the menu looked wonderful. The prices were good and even at an off time when I went people were coming in for take out and to eat there.

Pho was excellent. You can choose from many options and build your own. I wanted to eat the entire bowl but could not finish. I will definitely go back and try other options.

Pho Ca Dao is located in the Mercado Shopping Center on the side nearest to highway 5. It is a bit tucked away so you have to go into the mall to find it. They serve standard Vietnamese fast food - Pho, broken rice, rice vermicelli etc. The food is pretty good but nothing special. I actually like the other Pho place on Bernardo Center drive better.

Fantastic Pho. You are seated quickly and they serve you quickly. My favorite is the combination grilled pork and grilled chicken with rice. They also have boba tea which is pretty cool. The prices are cheap! The only issue is that the servers sometimes have difficulty with English - so communication can be challenging. I highly recommend this place. Bravo!

Unexpensive, tasty, excellent food. Fast, and fair priced. Not fancy but perfect for a great meal. Clean.

Great Vietnamese food in a casual environment. Smaller restaurant, large menu selection, fast service and surprisingly low prices. Service was friendly and my food came out quickly. Vietnamese beer is also available.

Found this little gem. Tried some Vietnamese food in San Diego? This place was great. The food was great and not very expensive, our server was nice but could of smiled...but that maybe an Asian thing? ...don't call me racist because I am Asian. we had a full meal with appetizers and it was the best deal on our entire vacation.

Welcoming environment and Amazing Chicken Pho! The combination eggrolls are fried to perfection! A must eat!

We dined here on a very busy friday evening. The staff was working quickly to seat guests, take orders and get the food out. They are a well oiled machine in this regard. It eas a pleasure to watch. The menu is extensive, including a $5 children's menu. Most items were $5-$8. Our pho and a mixed grill salad were tasty and the ingedients were fresh. This is a great "find" in Rancho Bernado.

I don't eat pho very often but was really craving something with broth and this place looked interesting. The pho is very good filled with tender chicken, the broth was very comforting and their egg rolls were served up hot and delicious!

This is a really good place. Super quick service as in most Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The decor is nicer than some of its nearby competitors. Waiter was amusing and helpful. The food was really good. I had the chicken pho which was delish, the ginger chilli sauce they give with is really makes a difference. 3 people ate for under $20 too! Can't go wrong there

My family and I really like it! We use to go very often. The place serves delicious food and provide good service for a worth $. The only bad is the intense smell of broth You carry with You after being there...kids menu and specials always available
Love this Place
Ate a late lunch here. Great Pho and friendly staff. They will help you decide what to add to your Pho. Easy to get to but parking may be limited.
