TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT

By L J |

My friends and are were dying to try this place. We could never get our schedules at work right so.... we ordered delivery. First they were fast!!! Second this time we would all get the same thing. ( just incase someone would get food envy) We all ordered the beef pho with all the toppings. I have to tell you it was wonderful. I like my spicy and It was perfect my friends one liked it with out the spice and the other on just a smidge of spice. We also had their spring rolls. they were also very good. If you haven't tried it just break down and try it you will like it.

budget-friendly dining option for vegans & carnivores

By DinPhilly |

So nothing fancy but the food was good, service was friendly and quick. The place is clean and well lit, the decor pleasant. A budget-friendly dining option for Center City that is vegetarian/vegan friendly but has plenty of choices for the carnivore crowd. Lots of seating.

Meh - touch screen and credit card

By JD C |

After a long flight, we like to eat at a pho place because the broth helps us re-hydrate. The Pho Street located at 1230 Arch was near our hotel. Since we're an older couple, we don't use phones to make purchases and we also prefer cash transactions over credit cards. We could not get the attention of any of the staff who could help us order food using the touch screens. We also were not allowed to pay in cash. The food we got (chicken pho and combo pork-shrimp-egg roll in a bowl) was decent but we know we won't be returning.

Decent alternative to hoagies

For a cafeteria style fastfood place I was pleasantly surprised. The convention center area offers few options for vegetarians, so I gave Pho Street a try. The summer role was very tasty as was tge fried tofu. The portions are huge. Two people could easily share what I ordered. The ingredients are fresh and the restaurant is clean. It is a little pricey, but so is everything else in that area.

Delicious!

Been here a couple of times now. I like the beef with rice vermicelli. Broken rice with pork is also good. Spring rolls are very good too. Never had the pho, but the bowls are HUGE! They will prepare to your specifications (mine are no peanuts, no cilantro, no mint). Excellent service.

Great authentic pho

By cookpias |

We have enjoyed pho in VietNam and in Los Angeles (think Little Saigon in Orange County) and would rate this pho as very good and very authentic. They offer one size only which I would consider a large portion. I had the beef and brisket both times (yes, I had to go back) and it was excellent. Add a bit of sriracha and hoisin sauce for some extra zip.

Very good Pho

They are quite busy especially at lunch time. Very good pho. Summer rolls are good as well. I have not had anything else yet. The ordering is done on self serve computer screens and the software is not very user intuitive. This can create a bottleneck in ordering.

First Timer

This was my first time having Pho, and it will not be my last. A friend treated me to Pho and I was very impressed. They could have just given me the broth , that's how good it was. I got the plain Pho as I am not eating meat for the New Year. There were plenty of noodles enough herbs for plenty of flavor. AGAIN THIS WILL NOT BE MY LAST TIME AT PHO STREET

While at the Convention....

Location, location, location! Pho Street just opened across from the convention center and a block away from Reading Market offering another alternative. They offer quick service and reasonable prices. Order kiosks present menu selections with pictures to help clarify food choices and options. The combined eyeround and brisket pho was tasty and plentiful - much appreciated, particularly on a cold day. The place is rather asceptic in appearance though the brightly colored hard chairs are an attempt to make it less institutional.

good pho

By Tony C |

Wow, it's actually pretty good. The restaurant decor is clean minimalist and modern. With tons of seating (In fact we were the only one :p). U order with a touch screen computer at a specific area than pick it up once done. You are able to make various changes via the screen. The broth was actually very good and flavorful even without the usual hosin sauce and hot sauce. The eye of round (raw beef) was put in the soup which I didn't like since usually those are served on the side or on top so it's barely cooked. U are also able to add tendon. Overall a pretty good experience and the pho was fairly good.

Quiet, convenient, quick, comfortable and tasty

I'll qualify this by saying I am NOT a pho connoisseur, but I know when things taste good. My boyfriend IS a pho connoisseur and he enjoyed it, but I don't think he'd rank it in his top 5. Everything was fresh and delicious. (He did say the chicken was a little chewy; I didn't really try it.) We shared one ginormous bowl of pho that we ordered directly from a touch screen at the entrance. For $11, it was plenty for 2 people for lunch and we had some left over. We also had an order of summer rolls, which were extremely good, especially with the peanut sauce. The restaurant has a fair amount of seating, but is not tightly packed. If you've just spent a couple hours in an overcrowded event at the Convention Center (RIGHT across the street) or thought you might want something in Reading Market (where there is no Pho option anyway), you will enjoy the peace and quiet. It was less than 10 minutes after ordering that our food was ready. Also, the bathroom was exceedingly clean, spotless even.

Nice restaurant, okay food

I really, really wanted to like this place. The restaurant was updated, modern and clean. And, I liked the concept of self-ordering although I did have a question about ingredients because I have food allergies. I tried to talk to the staff, but no one but the owner could talk to me. Half the time there was no staff present (they were all in the kitchen). Who doesn't love a good Pho? Or, vermicelli? Or, spring rolls? I expected to be wowed by the food. However, everything lacked depth of flavor and was bland. There was also a burnt aftertaste to everything that I attributed to uncleaned grill because none of my food was burned. Had I been staying in Philadelphia longer I might (might is a stretch) have given the place a second chance. But, if you've got limited time and plenty of food options, there is nothing craveable nor memorable about this place and I'd definitely look elsewhere.

Delicious food and helpful staff!

I've never had Vietnamese food before and wanted to try it. The staff was helpful and willing to answer questions readily. The food was well-prepared and delicious!

Deliciousness awaits your order.

Deliciousness awaits your order. We made our selection on one of the computer screen menus. Lots of choices plus personalized options. Within minutes our order was ready. Freshness and flavors...fabulous. The lunchtime crowd seemed satisfied. Will definitely return..... yummmmmm!

New food experience awaits

Roaming the streets looking for something different? I was,,,,then I walked into Pho Street. Having never experienced Vietnamese food, I blindly ordered a playoff the menu. No regret. My food was good, flavorful, and light tasting. I especially enjoyed the rice noodles and vegetable. I have never had dish that used cilantro and mint so well.

Delicious BYOB - I am picky and they try to get it right..every time.

I love the House-made Jasmine and Green Tea, Fresh Fish Sauce, add your own toppings bar and the people. It is with a block from trader Joes, the 22nd and Market Trolley stop and they will customize like no one else.

Terrible

By Rudski |

Not only was this shocking food but the service was even worse!! Ordered the ‘build your own’ pho with Sirloin and Bisket. Both meats were chewy and undercooked also way too fatty. Complained to the staff who just looked unimpressed and said nothing no sorry let’s try another just blanked me! Will never eat here again. Avoid

Mighty tasty

I just happened upon this place while looking for dinner. Well lit and clean, you order from touchscreens and can customize as you wish. With the screens, you can see what you are ordering. I had the curry chicken appetizer and the broken rice chicken entree. They were both great, but I could not stop eating the curry broth. Man, that was good. Service is very good and folks working hard to get your food to you quickly.
