Friday Dinner

By Alvasant |

Great place good food, good service. Very busy on the weekends make sure you get a reservation, if not you have a 45 minutes to an hour wait. Cocktails very good decent selection of wine

Great place for business lunch!

By Diana H. |

I would highly recommend making reservations. The restaurant is a popular spot for business lunches. Our server, Joe V., was excellent! He was there when we needed him and seamlessly refilled our drinks without interrupting the conversation. The Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast is a simple but delicious option. I also enjoyed the Iceberg Wedge salad.

I fill like it was Italy

By Jesus Toro M |

Wow, I came here after a movie... Perfect place to be late at night. We had just came back from a trip to Italy. The food here is very excellent, try the past diner... It will take you to a place that is very amazing and reminded us from our trip. This food is delis and very authentic... I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet romantic place to end your date.

Stay Away - The Total Renovation Failed

By Mike S |

Ate there last night two weeks after they re-opened after a 5-month remodel. We ate there the last night before they closed for the remodel in early August. It's the Best example of a Corporate Dumb-down! It looks like an airport eatery. The Great former ambience is totally gone, now a sterile, cold vibe. The menu is totally dumbed down...no goat cheese appetizer, my usual great Salmon on crispy sauted spinach is now awful, over-cooked, and served on a plate of Navy beans. Top shelf drinks now are high-priced, half-sized, and awful. The delicious in-house baked focaccia bread is gone, replaced by a commercial tasteless thing. Go to Sorrentos, Braza Brava, or Pizza Hut for a better meal and atmosphere. It's a shame what they undid after 25 years of being a great place with great food. Formerly a fine place to drop in for lunch, afternoon, or dinner, but that's all gone in the name of packing people in, making space for take-out, and attempting to deliver more profit to the bottom line. We're done.

Great meal!

By christmaskit |

Had the pasta dinner with rigatoni. The pricing was different in restaurant than TripAdvisor states on the menu. The portions were great, could not even finish. Lots of flavor and very rich. The wedge salad was one of the best I have ever had. The bellini is to die for.

Sunday Lunch

By atr2b1218 |

Excellent wine and food and service with a smile. One of the best restaurants in the area with reasonably good prices. Very professional staff. Salad wonderful. I am going back.

Good food, great service, loud noise level.

By Michael Y |

It is a chain so the food is consistent. Very good food, great service. The noise level can be pretty loud. Plenty of parking.

Will NOT go back !!!!!

By Noble J |

Sunday Dinner took 45 minutes to arrive from time of order and chicken was BLAND..... NO TASTE. Service was S L O W , dinner & dissert menus were stained with food. Dissert took another 30 minutes to arrive. Management didn't seem all that concerned with a weak I'm Sorry. WILL NOT GO BACK !!!!!!

We had a great lunch date

By 45Cocojr |

We had a great lunch date at Piatti’s! Service is outstanding and atmosphere is romantic. I had the grilled salmon over garlic spinach. It was awesome. The salmon was grilled perfectly and the spinach with garlic was so yummy! Even though it was a lunch portion, it was a pick selection of salmon. I ordered angel hair pasta on the side and it made the dish perfect. My husband ordered the Chicken Alfredo and he really enjoyed the creaminess and the flavor he said was great. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone! Date of lunch: January 25, 2020

Mom and daughter time

By Jeannette M |

We had the best waiter Joeangel the food was excellent as always. The complementary bread basket with dipping oil goes very well with their private label merlot

Girlfriend time

By Jeannette M |

Great Italian restaurant. Lots of seating inside, large bar and patio seating as well. The servers are always very nice and courteous. The food that I have tried always been delicious. My favorite is the bread and oil complimentary.

Great food!!

By MichelleGrenier |

Love love love this place! Piatti’s has some of the best bread and olive oil dipping sauce in town. The salads are my favorite. They have great drinks and wine. The outdoor patio area is nice when it’s not too hot. Otherwise, I prefer to sit in the bar area.

Yummy food

Came for a business dinner. Great food and service. The zucchini pasta and creme Brule excellent. Bread along with appetizers all were great. Enjoyed it

A Place to Meet and Greet

By TxRose75 |

This Italian restaurant has delicious food, and an ambiance that is favorable for an interesting and fun conversation. It has a lively bar crowd which makes for some chatter that at times can be rather loud. If you like that kind of atmosphere, Piatti's Restaurant is for you. The parking is convenient...spots all along the front of the restaurant, just inside the back of the Alamo Quarry Mall.

Great food, but don't expect to be able to talk!

By CCKAT |

The food was really good. The waiter was great. The prices...eh...well...it's pricey.... but it's a great restaurant. HOWEVER, don't expect to carry on a conversation..It is so loud in there...every time I go. So I make sure to sit in a booth right next to my date! Unless, I don't really want to hear him talking! LOL

Best Italian food ever!!!!

By Yessica Z |

Everything is fresh and definitely delicious... I will be back. The price is great for their flavor and size. Is definitely the best Italian restaurant in town

Nice atmosphere

By pennyharford |

Met family @ the bar,so didn't order food, but it smelled delicious. Very friendly ambiance. We were there in afternoon. By 5pm, it was crowded. Seems to be the favorite place for after work meetings. I was ignored by the hostess for quite awhile when I arrived. It's the joy of being an invisible senior citizen!

Dissapointed

By SaPadre |

Waited longer than seem necessary for a table. Once we were seated, our table was warped knife fell off and landed on the floor. When we pointed this out to the person seating us, he picked up the knife and put it back on the table and left. Food was good tomato soup excellent! Over service was mediocre at best. Water bottles left on table or allowed to go empty and only refilled once. Been there three or four times, I'm not sure why is as popular as it is. Notice in the soup bowl the angle the bowl must be in fursuits be so low on the top-end. We looked in many tables were like this.

Very good

By Dominic23 |

Have eaten at Piatti's several times. The food has always been solid and the service has always been friendly. I have sat at the bar to eat lunch a couple of times and the bartenders are always nice and very helpful.

Best Italian Food in San Antonio

By Jones901090m |

Having recently visited Italy within the past 6 Months, my wife and I have been looking for an Italian restaurant in SA that reminded us of our trip. This is the closest we have come across to real Italian cuisine. The ingredients are fresh and the atmosphere relaxed. We haven’t personally tried the pizza, but the pasta dishes we have gotten were both very good.

The dishes are Authentic Italian

By LMK101 |

This restaurant is located at the Quarry. You can order apps or dinner plate size. If you aren't that hungry, the app size is perfect. The grilled eggplant is very good. The dishes are as typical as a regular italian restaurant although you can find a good selection to satisfy your tastebuds. Good restaurant and will return.

We do not like the new menu.

By nicoise09 |

We loved this restaurant before the revamp of the space and the menu. We do not like the new menu at all. We are sad to lose one of our reliable place to eat each week. Please bring back the previous menu.

Food is the bomb...service eh!

By taj702 |

Try the spinach ravioli..Delish!! It was a large group of us and our server was non existent. The food made up for his lack of service. Enjoy!

Pizza to go

By Misa |

They did not have exactly what I wanted but were more than willing to improvise! Ended up with margherita pizza with added pepperoni. Onions green peeper and green olives (no blk olives) It was very good!!!!!

Not bad, but...

By wenrich2011 |

Service was very slow. While I expect it to take a little while longer when you have food allergies because of the care taken to ensure I won't have a reaction, this place pushed that to the limit. Our Nephew ordered a second beer and it took them over half an hour to bring it. The food was good, and place was kid friendly, but the noise level was high when we got there in the early evening and by the time we finished (2.5 hrs later) it was overwhelmingly loud. Since we were visiting family we were hoping for quiet ambiance to have a nice catch-up but that wasn't possible. We did our best but it was simply too loud as the dinner rush was ushered in. I had the sweet potato breaded trout with steamed asparagus on the side. While the fish was perfection, the asparagus was thick stalked and chewy. I knew it was the wrong time of year for sweet thin asparagus but was lulled into thinking it was summer since I'm from Colorado and we were having Colorado summer temps here in San Antonio in November. I also ordered their Moscow Mule and it was a huge disappointment, the ginger beer was lacking in ginger flavor and the whole thing tasted watered down. If you go stick with wine and your basic pastas, everyone who got the spaghetti with meat sauce left happy. Also if you go and are watching your waist line or living with diabetes, etc, they have a fit menu that lists out the carbs, fat, protein and calories.

Dinner & Drinks

By Jesus Toro M |

What a place. This restaurant is like you are in Italy in a place where the food is excellent and people serving you are telling you that the specials for dinner or the night... This is it like a big family serving you like in Italy... The chef tells you what we have prepared for tonight and is always excellent. We love this place, you can come and eat or just drink at the bar. I recommend it to everyone to try it and it all amore.

Fabulous food and service

By Goodolelady |

Went for a special group gathering and was pleasantly surprised. Parking is a bit far off due to it being in The Quarry shopping center but worth a short walk. Great ambiance for upscale casual dining.

birthday dinner

By Nancy |

Food was good but the service was very slow. I understand it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was completely full but service took way toooo long!! Waited for our dinner for more than 45 minutes! Food was great except the service and it was way tooo loud we could hear ourselves talk

Great food service could use work.

By Keith C |

My wife and I were seated by the manager and given bread and oil to dip it in. That was the last time we were waited on. So after sitting in a nearly empty restaurant for 15 minutes I went to the front and spoke with the manager. That was when the adventure began. My wife ordered the Chilean sea bass and I had the gnocchi. Her sea bass was so flavorful that I even liked it ( I am not a fan of fish) and my gnocchi was so good that I took home the rest and had it for lunch the next day and I was just as good. What started as a bad experience was turned wonderful by the great food and an attentive waiter.

Bar? 5 Stars. Restaurant? Stay at the bar

By Tootsielala55 |

Food: excellent. Service: the worst. When someone has to stop and practically beg folks for service, you know you are in trouble. The bar? warm and friendly, truly welcoming and the kind of place you would want to call home. The restaurant? food is good, not outstanding. Bread is divine as is the olive oil dipping. But if you want more than that or do not mind waiting for a server who could not be less interested, stay for dinner. The menu is lovely, for sure. The bar menu is better, service is better and the people are friendlier. If you want to have a conversation, this is not the place. If you do want to go someplace to see and be seen, this is THE place. Romance? No way...too too noisy. The place is always busy, always packed. Maybe it was a bad night for all the really bad servers?

Wonderful time.

By Tim E |

We stopped in Right at dinner time and luckily they had a table. Make a reservation. We had a wonderful meal with a great wine.

One of the best Italian options in San Antonio

By Lorenzo E |

The service is pretty good, and the menu options are quite pleasing to every taste. The wine list is not as expensive as some other places. The seasoned olive oil with balsamic vinegar is amazing, wanted to buy 3 bottles from them to give out as gifts, but they were sold out.

Great day for patio dining

By steno225 |

The weather was great for an early meal on Sunday out on the patio. We were promptly seated in a shady spot and served warm bread and oil/seasoning for dipping. Because we were there at 11:30 we were offered the brunch menu as well as the regular menu. We ordered off the regular menu. I ordered the herb grilled chicken panini and my husband ordered Pollo Arrosto Crispy Roasted Organic Chicken. Our waiter did an excellent job of keeping our tea glasses filled. We found a coupon online that allowed us a appetizer or dessert. We chose dessert, Cioccolata, which was a very rich chocolate dessert. We would for sure eat here again on another visit to San Antonio.

Way too loud!!!!

By Shayla R |

We were looking to have a nice quiet evening. WRONG PLACE. Food was good but my Zucchini Tagliatelle had so much sauce it seemed more like a soup. Service was great, but the noise level was deafening. Does anyone know how to use their indoor voice. The ambiance outside on the patio would have been much better even with the 99 degree heat and street noise. But the very worst part was the Midnight Express soundtrack playing in the "background" I have to say I will not go back for seconds.

Evening out

By Roger P |

Excellent food, service. Great items, unique to Piatti, like the portobello mushroom appetizer. They are very accommodating. Best to reserve a table in the smaller backroom, with fireplace [the main dining are is a bit noisy. Good selection of wines. We had a little birthday party -- brought our own cake, which they served, complete with a festive fireworks "candle" on top. Great food, great value.

Needs an updated menu and better wait service.

By AlmostFamousRocker |

Just recently I decided to return to this restaurant and to my surprise the experience was not the same! The waiter we had was very rude and abrupt. He deliberately waited over 20 minutes before he attended to us, as we had asked him to give us a minute. He interrupted our conversation without saying, excuse me or some polite comment to show us he was ready to take our order. That was our experience throughout the dinner. The food was not what it use to be. The menu is not varied and has a very poor selection. Just not good overall.

Terrible Food and Service; Overpriced!

By Carlos F |

When today to celebrate a friend’s birthday for lunch. We all ordered the 2025 restaurant week menu, $30 each. What a disappointment. The Cesar salad was terrible: small scrap pieces of lettuce, the Cesar dressing was bland and watery. The chicken alfredo was very bland, almost tasteless, and the pieces of chicken were very small, like scrap pieces. The personal pizza had almost no cheese nor ingredients. The tiramisu was, again, bland missing its main ingredients: mascarpone and coffee. The gelato promised one vanilla and one chocolate servings. It was all vanilla. The service was poor. Had to remind the waitress to bring us parmesan for the pasta and sugar for the coffee. The check came with errors charging for two extra desserts, $18. Avoid this restaurant!

nice lunch outdoors in Feb... good times

By MinnScooter |

We stopped here on way to the Airport for lunch after a morning at the zoo. we sat outside because it was so nice ( for us Northerners) I had a Panini and small salad My wife had a Margarita Pizza which was nicely crusted without the burnt Basil that often happens..service was good esp because there weren't many outside so would have been easy to forget us.

Perfect Lunch

By Hillbillies947 |

Great food and nice touch of fine dining. Light lunch or hearty meal are both offered here. Inside dining a bit noisy but love the atmosphere and wine.

We liked this place so much that we went back three times in the space of three weeks.

By Romulas80 |

We liked this place so much that we went back three times in the space of three weeks. We just had to take everybody we knew there. The best part of this place is the sourdough bread and oil and vinegar dip. It is not complimentary (but it's infinitely affordable at $3), but it is well worth the price. The bread comes out super-hot and the oil and vinegar is amazing! They clearly use top-quality oil and balsamic vinegar, but they also add some seasoning and it is all so tasty. We are clearly not the only ones who think so, either, since they sell it by the bottle to take home with you (although they were sadly sold out on all three of our visits). My complaint with most Italian places is the lack of variety. I can't eat tomatoes, and usually, there is only one option on the menu without red sauce and it is chicken alfredo. This place bucks that trend, too, with a delicious lemon cream sauce and a sumptuous parmesan cream sauce. They are also very accommodating and will put any sauce on any dish you wish. I took advantage of this by substituting the parmesan cream sauce on their rigatoni and it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten. My wife got the Bibb salad on two of our visits because she liked it so much. It is an entire head of Bibb lettuce and has the very unique preserved lemon dressing and an incredibly generous helping of goat cheese. We also tried the Parmesan-crusted chicken breast, Baked goat cheese, and Penne with walnut-arugula pesto. Everything is amazing and the bill is always surprisingly inexpensive. We will absolutely be back the next time my parents are visiting.

Great food - service was lacking

By Starryskies227 |

Maybe it was because the rush of Christmas holiday season, but I was disappointed by my visit to Piatti. The food was amazing! The before dinner drinks were top notch. The seafood stew was delicious (but spicy which wasn’t mentioned on the menu) as were the pizza and cannelloni. And who can resist a table side smore set up??? We also ordered tiramisu and creme brûlée. The food was the beat part by far. However, the waiter tried to be attentive to our needs but the food for each course took FOREVER to be served and our empty plates sat in front of us for way too long. When we left, we had to wind out way through tables that were so close together that I could barely squeeze between the chairs. This was all on a Tuesday night I might add. I just expect more from a fine dining restaurant. While I would go back to try it again, if my experience stays the same, I’ll never go back.

Worth the wait

By Lance C |

Was in San Antonio looking for something good so we headed to the Quarry to try out Piatti. It was fairly busy for a Wednesday night. We did not have much of a wait to be seated. It has a good atmosphere to it. The server was nice but slow and not the most attentive. That being said when the food came it was well worth the wait. The bread was excellent.

perfect place for daughter's graduation dinner!

By Richard_Temple_TX |

Daughter chose Piatti at the Quarry for these reasons: 1) the Margharita pizza 2) the goat cheese crostini and 3) oldest daughter worked there in high school. We were not disappointed. The fried calamari appetizer was perfect. The crab cakes were just barely held together which I love. My wife had the breaded trout and loved it. I had the eggplant with house pulled mozzarella which was great as usual.

We showed up for a reservation at 6 PM and they didn't have us on the list. Somehow the number on the website I had accidentally made a reservation at the Piatti's at the quarry. But the manager was very accommodating and set us right away we were a party of eight. The waiter was wonderful dinner was great nice atmosphere wonderful food. We will be back

The Best Italian Meal!

By 589Joanie48 |

We don't live in San Antonio, but our two Grandsons have graduated from Lackland Air Force Base. After both graduations we went to Pattis and it's wonderful! The best food and the best service. It's located in a mall and you wouldn't think it would be so fabulous, but it is.

Always good

By SweetTone |

Once again, the food was delicious, the service good. Highly recommend! I eat at Piatti's several times a year, every time I visit San Antonio. The trout is delicious as is the veal. Good wine and beer selections.

A favorite

Have been here several times. The service is great, the atmosphere pleasant and the food outstanding!

Business Luncheon

By Lisa G |

I came here for a business meeting for the first time. The room was busy but not noisy. Lunch started with bread and olive oil. The waiter was very attentive and the food good. We both had a grilled chicken salad. It was very fresh with the chicken cooked perfectly. I plan to come back for dinner soon.

Absolutely wonderful!

By MuffetB |

I had a late lunch here last Saturday with a group of 10. First, while several other reviewers lambasted the service, I must say, I had quite the opposite experience. Our waiter, Daniel, was top notch. He dutifully went about refilling drinks, the bread and olive oil dip (fabulous bread), clearing plates, and did not rush us throughout. Everything arrived in good order - salads followed by mains, then dessert. As for the food, I started with a wonderful small wedge salad, with a great gorgonzola dressing. I could not decide which of several pasta dishes to order, and upon asking a few questions (yes, he really knew the menu), I took his recommendation, and ordered the "Tagliatelle" grilled chicken, toasted pine nuts, spinach, suga rosa sauce. The "tagliatelle" is not the pasta, but rather very thinly sliced (shaved) zucchini. Healthy dish, with a delicious sauce. I could not have been happier. Dessert - recommend the Torte Di Frangelico (dark chocolate and frangelico butter cream torte). All of my friends were happy with their selections. Two thumbs up!

Great Service/ Food

By Rose G |

Had lunch with a friend, service was excellent I ordered the lunch special which was a pasta dish with asparagus , mushrooms and a lemon sauce. Our waiter Justin R was so attentive and pleasant , he kept checking with us to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything . Always have a great experience when we go there.

It was great until....

By Alicia H |

The food was fantastic! I don't have a single complaint about the food. My issue was the professionalism of the staff. We received our check and there was a QR Code feature on the bottom of the receipt. You can scan it and pay via GooglePay. I did this and left with my husband, only to be run after in the parking lot by our server and the bartender asking if I paid. I expressed that I paid via GooglePay and they returned inside without any further questioning. To say the least, I was embarrassed to have two grown men chasing me in the parking lot in front of the other diners. I'm wondering why they wouldn't check the register to make sure that the payment was accepted before chasing after me in the parking lot? This experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning.

Good food and Great Service

By ChicagoTrish_D |

Bread and olive oil was served as a starter.I had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes The food was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. My friend had the salad with a crab cake, for an additional $6.00 he got a second crab cake, good deal. The waitress was very attentive, drinks topped off and bread refilled. The restaurant was very busy at lunchtime in-spite of which service was excellent.

Great stop for food and or drink

By dkmkakektk |

I have been to this casual restaurant and bar many times foreverything from business meetings to social gatherings. The food is great and the bar can please anyone. The crowd is mixed and friendly always.

Great meeting place with friends

By Stevemtexas |

Reservations are advised and they seat you on time. Good Wine selection and a variety of well prepared food. We took friends from out of town and they really enjoyed the whole experience. Not a fancy place but nice enough you should dress respectable. Shorts are O.K. as long as they aren't cut-offs. We had several different dishes at the table, and some are big enough to share. The Gnocchi Potato Dumplings were really good, and the Salmon Crab cakes were delicious. Share the Spaghetti with traditional Bolognese. We shared only on bottle of Pinot Noir, but prices were reasonable. The 4 of us ended up with a check a little over $120.00, and included a fair priced bottle of wine. Service was excellent, we never seemed to need to look for our waiter, he was always attentive. It had been a while since we've been there but was well worth it. We wil go back soon. BTW, there was a couple that showed up just before us without reservations, they were seated pretty quickly, and there was room at the bar. So, even without reservations, you probably can get served. I would however, suggest you ask in advance with a reservation.

Good, just not as wonderful as my last visit (make this 3.75 stars out of 5.0)

By MuffetB |

I had dinner here with a group of 9 recently. Our waiter did an "OK" job with our group. However, compared to prior visit with similar size group, he was not nearly as stellar a waiter as Daniel was before. I ordered the small wedge salad, with a great gorgonzola dressing. It was as fabulous as before. For the main, I chose the spinach and ricotta ravioli. A lemon sauce is served over it. For $11.50 (just for the ravioli, as my salad was $7 extra), I was very disappointed at receiving 4 ravioli on the plate. Really did not satisfy. Should have stuck with the "tagliatelle" that I so enjoyed before. Bread was OK, but again, not as good as before (crust was very hard, so much so that I could not eat it for fear of breaking a tooth). Dessert - yes, still recommend the Torte Di Frangelico (dark chocolate and frangelico butter cream torte) or the coconut gelatto.

Yummy upscale dining.

By pickySanAntonioTX |

Visited Elan San Antonio for happy hour and dinner. Drinks good dinner delicious . Ordered a cucumber gimlet, wedge salad and cioppini. All very good. Food did not disappoint. Sat at a table at the bar. It was not loud. Nice ambiance. Upscale dining.

First time at piatti's

By Gigi Reyes |

Went there for lunch on valentines day since everywhere else seems to have a long waiting period or needed to have reservations. We decided to go to piatti's and we're pleasantly surprised there was no wait. The complimentary bread with the olive oil mix with some other sauce was very good. I got the salmon with spinach and it was excellent, cooked perfectly. The salmon was not mixed with other sauces but was great all by itself. My husband loved the chicken parmigiana with butter garlic pasta. I actually ate some of his pasta with my salmon and it was delish! Will go back again. Only con was our waiter was not too attentive and actually we had to ask another waiter to get us a complimentary bread. But if you don't mind the service, go for the food! Yum

Great experience

By Artbypatti |

Who doesn’t love meandering around the beautiful Quarry area in Alamo Heights? This is a hop and skip from the downtown area. The atmosphere was a little loud and the restaurant was full....which is always a good thing. The ambiance is really nice though and they have an open kitchen and a room with a fireplace. Service was excellent and extremely attentive and polite. We ordered off of their happy hour menu so food prices were perfect. They offer a $4.00, $ 5.00, $6.00 selection to choose from.....so we ordered a little of everything between 3 of us and it was a perfect meal. This is a great stop for couples or groups.

Good food fair service

By Jeff W |

When I have to raise my hand 5 times over the course of 2 hours, something is off Came here for birthday. Last trip for a while. Shame as food is pretty good.

Very Disappointing

By Artbypatti |

We used to love to come here and my last review was that this place was stellar. The newly renovated , fresh take on their menu are both a huge disappointment. The renovation, although lovely, lost its cozy warmth. The huge windows just cause for a massive glare inside the establishment. Most of the inside tables around me had on sunglasses including me towards the end of my meal. The service was nice but the food was a massive mess. We started with calamari (and I was craving calamari) instead we got a small handful of calamari, fried with zucchini, olives and lemons and lacking in flavor Aioli and marinara. Hum….hey, Piatti…when someone wants calamari…they don’t want Vegetables as a filler! Stay classic. Just serve a good quality calamari. Pizza. Should be easy right. Nope. Ordered the Margarita. So much semolina was used on the pizza that this was all we could taste. Dessert. Ordered a very delicious pistachio gelato. 8.00 for about 2 tablespoons….even the waiter made a comment on the portion. Needless to say, we won’t be going back. The Elian restaurant is currently closed for the season. I truly hope they are not changing their menu.

Dinner after a movie at the Quarry Market San Antonio

By Caroline 0 |

Excellent customer service upon arriving in the restaurant. The waitress and staff were so friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed my late lunch there on a Sunday afternoon with excellent cuisine and wine. The assistant manager and the manager came and chat with me for a minute- great atmosphere super friendly and comfortable.

Outstanding Italian dinner

By fcogarciam |

Started off with great bread with dipping oil and then a burrata which was outstanding, the burrata had a fig chutney and warm flatbread. I could eat this appetizer every day. My main dish was Cioppino a seafood stew with mixed seafood in a lobster broth, delicious. My friend had trout which was also excellent.

See and Be Seen at Lunch

By Marilyn E |

This is a wonderful lunch place--so busy yet the service is excellent. Seeing people sitting on the patio in sunny February is mood-elevating as is the delicious daily soup. The grilled vegetable panini makes the meal complete. Theservers never have a problem with special requests.

Great food and great service

By Victor K |

We went two different nights, got two different waiters. In both occasions the service was outstanding and so was the food. Counting both nights we ordered pizza, two kinds of salads and pasta. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The bread they bring at the beginning is also phenomenal. I would most definitely go back!

TASTY FRESH MADE ITALIAN CUISINE

By Cindy G |

This restaurant is cozy and comfortable and located in the Quarry area of San Antonio. It provides a nice selection of menu choices and delicious entrees, appetizers and desserts to choose from. This is the second time I have visited this restaurant and both times were equally enjoyable. I would continue to frequent this restaurant in the future!

Great variety of choices and excellent service

By Daniel N |

I went with friends from work and had the cannelloni. Four pieces fully loaded with a great sauce and pretty presentation. Great service and ambiance. Treat yourself!

Entitled servers, decent food

By vinvert1974 |

The food here is pretty decent but the service needs a lot of help. I've been twice, once recently and once several years ago. After the first visit years ago, I decided it was worth my time or money due to the poor service. I visited again when a friend really wanted to go here. Sadly the service had not improved. I felt our server that he was entitled to a good tip no matter what he did or didn't do. It's just not worth the frustration to go here. (They also have paper straws which is a big no in my book but the service is bad enough anyways to keep it off my list.)

Great choice for lunch or dinner

By bcbsat |

Excellent food, great menu with lots of choices. Fabulous dessert and the coffee was worth the trip by itself. Service can be a little slow on busy weekend nights but generally is good. At the Eilan/ I-10 location there is a lovely outdoor eating area with a musical fountain for entertainment. And at Christmas, a huge decorated tree.

Good Food!

By Dream Chaser |

This place was very good! The service was great, food excellent, and loved there bread. It's not that fancy, only a little.

Excellent Italian option...

By Gerardo R |

The meals excellent, the quality and the flavor of the product perfect with a rustic technique but perfectly executed, the service was kind a pretentious but nice...

Superb Service

Isabella our waitress was awesome! She recommended a great wine to compliment the excellent rigatoni I ordered. The calamari and warm bread was phenomenal. She helped us celebrate our anniversary with champagne. What a nice suprise. Also the chocolate ganache was a bonus. Can’t say enough good things. Thanks for a great dining out experience that had been put on hold..

Previously great, but not anymore!

By jefferyrowland |

Had reservations for 6 for a birthday gathering that they were completely unprepared for. Why we got crammed together on a 5-top rounder right next to the hostess station I’ll never know. Food was mediocre at best. Spaghetti was bland, the wedge salads were completely awful. During dinner, we kept getting asked if we were through with items when clearly we were still eating them, making us feel rushed to leave. The final straw was the “employee mandated” surcharge (3%) added to my bill. After asking to talk with a manager about it, the server simply removed it with no one attempting to explain. I will NOT be returning, and it’s a shame, as we used to love the place.

My new favorite!!!

By cheryl e |

Everything about our meal at Piatti was great. We dined outside. Our server, Christian was very knowledgeable about each dish on the menu. He was attentive and kind. Christian was probably one of the best servers we have ever had and we dine out frequently. The meal was fabulous! We had carpaccio, sweet potato breaded trout, herb arrosto half chicken and frutti di mare. The only thing left on any of the plates was the chicken bones. Coffee after our meal was accompanied with a small biscotti which was the best I have ever had and we all shared an order of tiramisu. The evening was absolutely perfect! The four of us would highly recommend Piatti for a wonderful dining experience.

Gorgeous restaurant, great menu

By cathysterling |

I had the veal piccata and it was as good as the waiter recommended. The ciabatta bread served with the meal...WOW! My friend had the lobster cannelloni, and it was a bit fishy tasting, not fresh tasting...but no matter, we enjoyed this restaurant.

One of our favorites in San Antonio...service was a bit off this night though.

By Sue C |

Too many tables per server to be honest. However, other than that, the food is delicious and authentic Italian, the beverages are wonderful and the portions are very large! We started out with a gorgonzola wedge salad, a caesar salad, then had the cioppino and pappardelle bolognese. I love that you can order half portions of the pasta, as I cannot eat a full portion. The pasta is cooked perfectly and the sauce is always flavorful and thick. And I love gorgonzola over regular blue cheese...I ate the whole damn thing by myself :-). My husband did say the cioppino serving was a bit small. We ended the meal with espresso (not the greatest tbh) and a chocolate martini, which was fabulous! We will definitely be back as we love this spot. May go on a weeknight though, as it'll be less crowded.

Noise level is horrible

By PsychSanAntonio |

I have eaten here many times. The noise level seems to increase with each visit. Now at a level that you can't talk with others at your table without screaming. Service not as attentive. Salad was crisp but dressing was too oily. The fish stew was not very good. No white fish (salmon instead). Shrimp were small and I'd guess frozen and over cooked and clams were overcooked. I think this is my last visit even though I live in waling distance.

Your kidding, Ughh!

My husband and I went to Piatti Restaurant on E. Basse around mid May for dinner. My first impression was the hostess and assistant didn't seem to know how and when to seat someone. We were seated at a booth. I started with a house salad. When I received it I was totally disappointed in the dressing. It tasted like plain red wine vinegar. For the price and location of this place I told my husband the dressing is just red wine vinegar. My entree was chicken pesto pasta dinner. Our waiter delivered our entrees and never came back to check to see how everything is tasting. My dinner was swimming in pesto sauce, and had hardly any chicken to speak of in it. I could have made this dish at home and much better. Horrible dinner, totally disappointing and the food is not great. The only time we saw our waiter was when he gave us our bill. Go to Carrabbas, you won't regret it. We are never disappointed their. Everything is made fresh at Carrabbas. We have ate at Silo's etc. You can read my reviews. I'm totally honest when it comes to my reviews. Terrible for restaurants to charge prices for bad food and service. Never again.

Disappointment

By Johnny_James82 |

My wife and I shared the goat cheese appetizer with crostini - it was average, nothing exciting. We shared the mixed salad with champaign dressing - same reaction. For a main course I ordered the gnocchi in brodetto with pork meatballs - The dumplings themselves were light and pillowy as they should be, the sauce however was revolting it tasted like a partially reconstituted and over-salted concentrate. The meatballs were made without fat; they were dry, hard and over-salted as well. My wife order the spinach ravioli in lemon-cream sauce which was also over-salted. The wait staff was polite. This is not a place I would give the benefit of a second chance.

Excellent restaurant!

By teresahughes65 |

Nice atmosphere and excellent wait staff. Elijah our server did a terrific job. The short ribs on polenta was to die for. The baby kale salad was very good, however the dressing was completely lacking in flavor. The salad needed a little acidity. The salmon addition to the salad was prepared nicely. The homemade sourdough ciabatta was warm and so good! We will definitely go back!

PRIMO!

By Michael S |

Always a fun place to eat, drink & socialize! We have visited Piatti's several times and it is always great

really nice place to eat

By texastraveler361 |

Started off with amazing bread. really really good bread Danger of getting full on this! then had appetizers of Semolina Fried Calamari (the only food that wasn't great - fried in old tasting oil and the pieces with legs were over cooked. the rest of the calamari was good, not great because of the old oil taste and the overcooking) and Bruschetta. The pesto sauce on the Bruschetta was excellent! Nice clean salad , and Cannelloni with lobster & crab filled pasta, which was excellent. also had the soup of the day, which was chicken and vegetable. It was so good. Service very good. for three of us it was $110 with tip and without any alcoholic drinks.

Nice place to eat

By Disappointedagai2014 |

Had lunch there and the food, drinks and dessert were awesome. Our waitress was a little slow but we figured it was because they were so busy with The Easter Rush.

One of my favorite places

Come here a lot for business lunches and family dinners. Never disappoints. Great food, great prices and great service.

Go for the bib salad

By LParnell |

If I had known the bib salad was going to be so good, I would just had salad. One of the best salads I have had in quite a while. Had the rigatoni - yummy. We had a good bottle of red wine too. Great place to sit on the patio. I was really at the La Cantera location. Try it. You will like it.

Go for the awesome bread!

By Brenda S |

We were in town to visit relatives and our group of 8 adults decided to try Piatti for dinner. We made reservations in advance and our table was ready when we arrived. The standout for this restaurant is their hot crusty bread (soft on the inside) served while you wait for your meal (with olive oil & balsamic vinegar). It is absolutely delicious and they will bring you as much as you want (yes please!). As we couldn't decide which entree to get, three of us women decided to split 2 entrees - so we could taste both. We ordered the House-made Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli with Lemon Cream sauce (the small is 4 ravioli and the large is 8; we ordered the large as it is only ~$4 more) and the Lobster and Crab filled Cannelloni with Lemon White Wine Caper Tomato Cream Sauce (you get 3). Both were very good. The waiter brought us 3 small plates so we could split the items. This was nice but we had to ask/wait for spoons so we could more easily divide up the pasta plus scoop the delicious sauce (no spoons are provided as part of your standard silverware). After you divide it up, it looks very small...but trust me, since they're so rich/heavy -- you will fill up quickly. Two other dishes ordered included mussels (or clams?) and some type of squash dish. The others got the Ravioli and Cannelloni as well. It took a while for our food to come out, but it was a Saturday night and we were busy enjoying the heavenly bread -- so didn't mind. We all agreed that we would definitely return but that we wanted to try different items next time. The only area that seriously needs improvement is the women's bathrooms (the men's restrooms are the same...but I didn't see a line there). Rather than have a large restroom with multiple stalls and a sink -- so that you can wash your hands while someone else is using the restroom -- they have 2 separate large individual bathrooms (toilet & sink) for women...and only 1 person can use each of these bathrooms at a time. This means at the end of the evening, when women are wanting to hit the restroom prior to their drive home or next activity...they are confronted with a long line. This is really poorly designed and needs to be corrected.

So bad!!!

By aleksandrazabkiewicz |

I can see for sure the European and American standards are very different. This was the first and last visit to this restaurant. I have been in Italy many times and had tried really good Italian cuisine. Cuisine served in Piatti it is far away from italian cusine. Service was very poor. For the first time in many years I have not left a tip. The served coffee was disgusting, tasted like washings from the coffee machine. I received a BIG TABLE SPOON (!) for coffee. I was not given a saucer so I had no place Served pizza was too oily. I am very, very, very disappointed. I can not recommend this place to anyone.

Slow Slow Dinner

By Dave H |

The kitchen has become a model of inefficiency as well as the bar. The slowest service we have had in San Antonio in years. Got here at 7pm and it took 20 minutes for simple beer and wine and 50 minutes for our salads to come out. And there were many empty tables. It just didn't make sense. They brought three pieces of bread and never asked if we wanted more during our extended wait for salad. The entries finally came about an hour and 10 minutes into this very slow meal. Once I finally got the chicken penne with pesto it was good. With so many other Italian choices in San Antonio it will be a while before I agree to go back to Piatti.

Always great food and great service

Been here more than a few times. Every time it's the same great service and mouth orgasm with every dish. Highly recommended

Great place for dinner any night of the week

Piattis has an excellent menu and very friendly bartenders and wait staff. Great for business travelers that need to get a nice glass of wine. Ask for Brian at the bar and he will take care of you!

Good Food, Stale Bread, Good Service

By Englishprof2014 |

We always enjoy dining at Piatti on Base Road. The quality of the food is high, the variety rich, and the service excellent. Every restaurant has its off nights, especially on a Monday; however, we did not expect the bread, which is usually a highlight of the meal served with herbal olive oil, to be a series of stale end pieces! Derick, our server, could not have been more solicitous. I enjoyed the rigatoni while my wife had a salmon salad. We did request cold water because the first bottle was room temperature. The bread and the water were probably victims of Monday night ennui, but we will certainly return for another meal during the holidays.

Happy Hour with a Friend

By Deb B |

I had not been to this location in awhile as I'm usually at the Eilan location. I think the other location is better. The noise level at this one is way too crazy! Plus I did not think the food was as good, as I had the appetizer meatballs in both locations and liked the serving at Eilan better. But in the Alamo Heights area, this is the place to see and be seen ... if you can stand the noise!

Friday dinner fun

By Michelle M |

Lovely establishment and great staff. It's always good when the waiter can give you suggestion and the food is amazing. The Seafood Stew was hands down, the best I've had in San Antonio. All of the food was tasty and fresh. The calamari wasn't chewy and over cooked and the broth was perfect. The staff was very attentive amidst the Friday night crowd. Parking is close and when you're done you can go to the a quarry and have a drink or just walk around and enjoy the evening. Great place awesome area.

Oh My Word!! Absolutely amazing

Oh My Word!! Absolutely amazing drinks and amazing food, the Farfalle Alfredo is out of this world..

Ok Service

By Rebel82 |

Went there to meet friends at the bar area. The food was good and the drinks are also good. The service was a bit weak, and not very attentive to us. They were more busy with having a good time than waiting on guest at the bar.

Birthday dinner with friends

By Patricia G |

We made reservations and was seated immediately. Since it was my birthday our friends treated us to dinner and a good bottle of wine. Patti's had the menu with my name on it and serviced us a deletable desert with all the sparkle. Just a delightful evening. Will definitely go back.

Great food. Great service.

By Michael Y |

It’s a chain, so you know what to expect. The food is always good. The service at this location is excellent!! It is a bit pricey, but the food is worth it. Plenty of parking.

Excellent food. Nice ambiance.

We loved all the food we ordered here. The fish was fresh and good, so was the soup we ordered, and our kids even indulged in desserts.

Let down

By Brandi W |

Normally this place is our special little get away and we love it.... never have come on a Sunday ... but DON’T... we had the worse service .. staring with one of the wait staff leaving .. I’m guessing we came at the end of her shift? Then it took about 15 minutes before another bartender took notice we had not been waited on. Had to ask another wait staff to order.. service was below par ... don’t know but would definitely not recommend this place if this was our first time .. but normally we drive over 3 hours to come have drinks and dinner. Not impressed...

Piatti's now offers two restaurants in San Antonio

By Mbarros |

Piatti's at The Quarry on Basse Road has been opened for over 15 years now and continues to offer great tasting italian food. A seond location was opened a few months ago by Eilan Hotel area on I-10 and 1604. I still prefer the "original" Piatti's on Basse Road and loved the new atmosphere and patio with new furniture and floral landscaping. Still great choices in italian food, pastas, chicken and specials for lunch. My favorite continues to be "Alfredo" with bow tie pasta and the excellent sauce and chicken. They have added excellent choices of new salads and I have seen some new soups. Great place for appetizers for early afternoon and their selection of wines is still good. Desserts...to many to mention...but for special celebrations ask for the marhsmellows...chocolate and prepare them on your OWN table.......excellent cakes and sweets.......

Great food, ambience, and service!

By ulaw82 |

My sister, niece, and daughter were looking for nice place where we could dine that was dog friendly. My daughter called and found out that we could bring our puppy. The patio was full so we had to wait but we had the option of giving our cell phone number and they would call when our table was ready. So, we walked around the Quarry Mall because it is also dog friendly. We were seated and greeted by Anthony who treated us like family. He provided excellent, friendly, and entertaining service. Anthony gave us great recommendations for our meals. This was our first time there and definitely not the last. I plan to take my husband when we visit San Antonio again.

Good Italian

Piattis always had good italian food, a full bar w big screens and sort of its own nightlife thing. Also a nice outdoor patio when its cool enough to be outside in S Texas. Expensive

Spinach Ravioli with lemon sauce, YUM!

By The Traveling Hockey Mom |

First visit here and we were not disappointed. We had two children with us and had to ask for a children's menu as it was not offered, but the selection was good and they found some pastas they liked. Bread and dipping oil is served with seated and the bread was warm and fresh. I got the spinach ravioli with lemon sauce and it had such a great flavor. My husband got a pizza and the ingredients were very fresh and the pizza was the perfect size. Service was quick and server was attentive. Great Saturday evening meal at the Quarry!

Can't Wait to Return

By Retiredlady8 |

I booked a birthday dinner for my out of state friend through Open Table adding the occasion and her name. The menu we were given said Welcome and her Name at the top. I've been there for lunch and leaned on the waiter as to what to order. We did the same and was not disappointed. After he asked a few questions, he recommended the sweet potato crusted trout. Yum! Both food and service were excellent. I had the Piatti chardonnay which I would recommend and of course the tiramisu. I didn't know, until we spoke to one of the manager's who held the door for us to leave, that it is a small chain out of California.

Nothing planned

By M T |

Today, my wife and I went to Piatti for the first time, after living in San Antonio for over three years. We were greeted by a pleasant young lady at the door and our server Isabella introduced herself about 30 seconds after we sat down. Isabella was the highlight of our visit. She is a genuinely good person who wants everyone to just be happy and enjoy life. She made suggestions on menu items based on her preference and she also suggested some other popular menu items. The restaurant didn't have Stella Artois on tap but she brought out some samples of some comparable beers, which were amazing! The food was outstanding! I ordered the lunch portion (4) spinach and ricotta ravioli with a lemon cream sauce, which was divine. I also added chicken which was a nice addition. My wife ordered the pesto and asparagus penne with chicken. It was good but the pesto flavor was overbearing, so she swapped it out for the chicken alfredo which was more her style. Lastly, we had the best tiramisu I've ever had in my life. The ladyfingers weren't soaking wet with the espresso...like some places prepare theirs. This was honestly one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in San Antonio and we can't wait to go back. The manager's name is Jeremiah and he had nothing but great things to say about Isabella who's only been with the restaurant for a short period of time. You won't be disappointed, go on a Sunday and order the ravioli! Thank you Isabella and Jeremiah for a wonderful experience. Oh and compliments to the pastry chef who works very hard to prepare amazing desserts and ravioli! -M&C

Great food...service was lacking

By Armando A |

Had a party of 6 for lunch. The food was great. The service was lacking. I really enjoying being left alone when eating instead of the constant interruptions, however this was a whole other level. The server came around maybe 2 times in the 1 hour we were there, one of which was with the bill. We had to ask other servers for refills on our drinks and extra bread. This is not what I had experienced on other occasions at this restaurant. I hope this is a one-off versus the new norm.

Be sure and ask for Maleyka !

By dkdoremifaAustin |

Last night was such a highlight of our time in San Antonio and our server, Maleyka absolutely made our evening perfect. She was so attentive, adjusting the fans for us, quickly serving drinks and wonderful mussels, then fabulous entrees of Zuchini ribbons and veal picatta. This restaurant is always packed and a little loud, but she took care of us like we were her only guests. Looking forward to returning!

A good choice!

By Donald H |

This is one of those restaurants that we should have tried long before but just did not get there. We won't be waiting long to return. Before I review our meals I wish to commend our server. He may be the best we have found in San Antonio. Now the menu offers something for everyone with the edge toward interesting pastas and sauces. I thoughts salads were a little high in price compared to the rest of the menu. It did not stop me from ordering the wedge salad which was excellent. My wife had the trout which she also found excellent . Two of us ordered pasta and the final order was a salad with seared salmon. All were interesting and filled the bill and belly. One interesting aspect of the menu were the choice of small and regular sized orders. Two of us had the smaller helping of pasta and found it plenty.

Great Italian food in the Quarry

By wukovits |

Our party arrived a little early, but we were seated nearly immediately, and our waiter quickly introduced himself and took our initial drink orders. After ordering a bottle of wine and a couple of cocktails, the Paloma being a standout, we ordered our meal. I opened with a Caesar salad that included anchovies, a delight for me, though it didn’t include any croutons, which I always appreciate for the texture. My main dish was a Salmon piccata, with the perfectly cooked piece of fish resting atop a bed of spinach and white beans. My wife ordered the Sweet potato-crusted trout, served with a lemon cream sauce and tomato crudo tagliatelle pasta, which I preferred over my dish. Others at the table opted for the Eggplant parmesan and a Lasagna, and both were predictably excellent. We ordered a tiramisu to go and enjoyed it later that evening, and I can say it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the ambiance created a comfortable experience for our family to enjoy a Saturday dinner.

Horrible Service

By B E |

Please avoid this place at all cost of your server is Derek. The food was great but the service was so poor that it made the experience so bad. It took forever just to get water then 40+ minutes later we received food. We weren’t the only table that experienced issues as each individual table has a different server in the patio seating.

Very good option for business casual

I went on a business lunch and tried the breaded trout with angel hair pasta. Cooked to perfection, although the portion was too much. Great place, will go again.

Great food and service

By travelcrazyTexas |

Had lunch at Piatti's in March and everything was delicious. The bruschetta was the best we ever had, anywhere, including Italy! Had a pesto, piled high with diced tomato, garlic, and basil. The bread with olive oil dipping sauce was really good, too. A sourdough. Dish with zucchini ribbons was great, salads were delicious and the tiramisu was exceptional. (Plus, it was my birthday so they brought us a slice for free and it was enough for 4 of us to share!). My only complaint was the piped in music was too loud and not relaxing! Made you feel like you had to eat fast! The manager apologized and said they have no control over the type of music but would have turned down the volume if we had said something sooner. Very nice, clean, attractive restaurant. Great service!

The meeting of the Spencers!

By NMEBEAR |

I usually love a great Italian restaurant when I travel because I know I can find a clean protein and great wine and cocktails. This place was wonderful and had a great option for Gluten Free items that were filling and flavorful. Spencer took very good care of us and made sure that we what we needed at all times - my colleague's son joined us and the two Spencer's met.

Wonderful

By Megs Mountbatten |

Our waiter was fantastic the ambience was nice and the food was DELICIOUS! Especially the chicken Alfredo! Will definitely be back!!

Not a very good dinner

By Carlos M |

We went there yesterday, my wife ordered prime rib rare, I ordered the half chicken, and a salad. The salad never came, he brought out both plates at once. The prime rib was medium well, when we told the waiter he said that's the only way they cook it, I wonder why he didn't say anything when we placed the order. We sent it back, the chicken was overcooked and dry, we mentioned to the waiter but we keep it and ate just that between us. You would think that someone would come to the table and apologize for such bad service and meal. No one did!! With that kind of experience it will be our last time eating there. Good luck if you decide to eat there.

Wonderful Italian Food

By gpbvkb |

Was told about the Alamo Quarry with it's fine shops and restaurants. Found this place and will not regret going in. Very helpful waiter made some good suggestions and was not wrong. The trout in lemon sauce was excellent. To end the night, the tiarimus was just wonderful! Recommend this place highly, but try to sit away from the bar (very noisy)!

Good stop before heading to airport!

By 2000bre |

We stopped here on our way to the airport because we were looking for a nice place with an outside patio not too far from the airport. We ate their gluten free pizzas and had cocktails. Everything was good and we would come back.

Piatti Restaurant

By Myriam De Santiago |

We went 2 days ago and Food was delicious but unfortunately we found a cockroach alive below my plate , extremely disgusting moment. Manager came and apologized and his excuse was that they recently put some kind of powder and that induced the cockroach’s to get out . We paid in full the account because he didn’t offer any discount or something for the inconvenience. Never going back again .

Great Find!

Fabulous atmosphere and delicious meal

By JulesTXgrl |

Make reservations if you plan to go on Saturday evening. We sat outside for a family dinner, it's upscale with a laid back vibe. The food was good, I am especially fond of the bread they serve along with an oil & vinegar dipping sauce. We had ravioli, pizza and penne and shared among us...all dishes were very tasty.

Awesome happy hour

By katrinacl4 |

Love the happy hour drinks on special and love all the food options. The wait stuff isn’t too bad but sometimes can be rude. Love going for happy hour any chance I get. Love the Caesar salad on happy house as well as the Margherita pizza. Their house cab is not bad either.

Italian

By jodie H |

We loved the old Piattis, so sad to see none of the old menu items. We loved the ciabatta bread, and it was replaced with a bland not appealing or tasty focaccia type bread. The wine list is limited. We loved the atmosphere of old bar. Menu is limited. Lasagna is with vegetarian meat, not real meat sauce. New bar is small and uninspired. So sad to lose one of our favs.

Birthday lunch

By Tony G |

Had lunch at this great restaurant for a birthday celebration. The Tilipia "piccata"($13.00) remains one of the great lunch dishes to have in San Antonio. OK, this is San Antonio. Enchiladas and tacos aren't the only greats here!! But, their are other great simple dishes in SA that deserve attention. This dish served with sautéed garlic spinach is superb. I needn't mention other dishes because they are all excellent. But the Tilipia "piccata" is the best west of the Mississippi. Can't understand why some one might be disappointed with this particular dish.

Visited After Piatti's Remodel

By Betty R |

Piatti's was one of our favorite restaurants. They have been closed since August due to a remodel. We were excited to go there last night after their re-opening a few days ago. The service was very good. Unfortunately, the entire menu is different and seemed limited to us. We had to pay for bread and dipping sauce. Our food was average but not nearly as good as it was before the remodel. We have no plans to return. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

Delicious food

By Nicki C |

I had dinner with friends after attending the theater. The food was wonderful. I had shrimp with risotto with a glass of Pinot Grigio. My friends enjoyed their meals and since the weather was nice, we sat outside.

By Thomas1755 |

The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. You must try the Fruta de Mar which was loaded with delicious seafood.

Great fish piccata!

By Tony G |

I'm a big Picatta fan. Chicken, veal, lamb, whatever. Piatti does a very nice fish Picatta. Here's the trick. The Chef prepares this dish with the lowly Tilapia to a very delicate white wine, tangy flavor, on a bed of garlic saute'd spinach which is outstanding. Most fish Picatta's I've had used a white bass, or even a rainbow trout, which is great. But, this dish holds its own against other pricier cuts of fish. Caesar Salad remains a great staple for a light lunch option. $13.00 for a great fish dish is worth every penny. Try a light Pinot Grigio to carry the wine sauce accents in the dish. Should be a real hit for lunch or dinner.

Very nice!

By steve a |

Piatti's was chosen by my children as a place to celebrate an event. There were 7 of us and a baby. Everyone ordered something different and we were all quite happy with the quality of the food. The service was very good except that the waitress must have misunderstood my order and left out the salad. It is a very nice atmosphere being casual but slightly upscale. Prices were very reasonable as the total bill with drinks and tip came out right at $200. Be prepared to walk if you are a customer of the shops or restaurants or you can pull up to the front and use the valet service.

Lunch

By hungryranch |

We eat lunch here a few times per month. Reliably well prepared food. Good service. Nice ambience for casual dress or a night out. Has an area that can be separated for large parties. Has patio area dining for nice weather. Good bar and decent wine options.

Pleasantly surprised

By DoloresJacoby.Let’sTravel.98368 |

This first experience was a most pleasant surprise. The ambiance is very nice. You can't miss it in the Quarry Market--just look for the four Alamo smoke stacks. It's near the base of an end stack. Open kitchen is nice--food cooked in sight always seems right. Indoor or outdoor seating. Service was great, company fabulous and food excellent. We'd recommend the butternut squash soup, the eggplant or penne with pesto. It's Italian for sure.

Great lunches

By hungryranch |

We eat lunch here often. Wonderful bread with oil and balsamic vinegar to start. Delicious fresh salads that one can add onto with shrimp, grilled chicken breast, or salmon. Good pastas and veggie sides. They also have soups and several pizzas and mains. It is a busy place but pleasant servers and atmosphere. Wines, some by the glass, and a full bar available. Patio dining when weather permits.

By 880koyt |

My wife and I sat outside for the Sunday Brunch. The atmosphere, service, and food were great. I recommend the French Toast with fruit.

Excellent spot, but one or two disappointments

By psparks60 |

I have eaten supper at Piatti at the Quarry about twice a week for over a year. I usually sit on their nice patio. Note that inside can be quite noisy and the music is often too loud for my taste in this level of restaurant. Service is generally good and the food is good to excellent usually. Often I order one of the salads with chicken or salmon added. It is normally about six dollars upcharge for the chicken and about eight for the salmon, as I recall. The last time I ordered this, the bill came back as $6 for the small salad and $23 for the added salmon. The manager said that was normal because the salmon portion was bigger than what was served at lunch and he stated that I had been undercharged all the previous times. I was and still remain bewildered, as I rarely eat lunch there and would have no knowledge of their lunch menu. They did reduce my bill. But at $23 for a piece of salmon on a small salad, I don't think I will be ordering that again.

Great lunch!

Hubby and I stopped here for lunch before going to a movie. The food was delightful! The fresh bread with dipping sauce, the fresh salad with gorgonzola, and the gnocchi with pork meatballs were delightful. Service was a bit slow, but otherwise, a great late lunch. I'd return again in a heartbeat.

Excellent Food

We were very impressed with Piatti. The pasta dishes were excellent and the wine and cheese board appetizer was superb. Staff was very attentive and the location is very convenient.

Excellent Ravioli!

By Capt_Wyatt |

Nice atmosphere and very tasty Italian pasta dishes. The wait time for the food to arrive is often long, but maybe that is normal for making these dishes. Great for business meetings due to large size and quiet environment. It is very roomy and bright...not a dark place. I would recommend.

Great Pizza

By Wendy R |

Italian restaurant that serves very good pizza. Its on the fancy side and a little pricey but the food is good. The bread was great. Service was excellent. Drinks where about average. The atmosphere makes for a fun girls night or date night.

Could have been a better experience but it fell short

I want to first say that this place is nice and we went tonight (july 29, 2016 around 7:30 PM. It was busy and was told it would be about 35 minute wait but said if there was a place outside we would take so, we were seated immediately. Now the waiter was great but he was a little slow and I would like to think that was because it was busy inside. My wife and daughter ordered the Crab cakes for the appetizer. It was good but more filler than crab meat. The cost was $13.00 So on for the main course which again my wife and daughter ordered the Mattone which is half a baked or oven cooked 1/2 chicken that was flattened. Their said it tasted plain and lacked flavor and was not as tender as it could be. The cost $19 per plate. My order was the Veal Picatta. I was hoping it would be a hit but unfortunately it was average. It was a bit chewy for the most part and a little too salty for me. However at $23 for the plate I ate it all. The waiter asked how was the meal and I pretty much told him what I am telling you all here. I never got a visit from the manager so I can only assume he did not say anything. Now I was really disappointed that there was no coffee as our waiter told us they ran out in the morning? Hmmmm, It's 7:30 PM when we got there so you would think they would have taken care of that. Now they had Latte, Cappicino but not everyone wants that. So they lost business on Coffee and desert the, the total bill with a glass of wine was around $90.00 I did tip $12 as it's not the waiter's fault. It could have been better especially when Paesano's which is a very good high end italian restaurant just a 1/4 of a mile away.

Great waiter (Ryan)

Ryan was great at knowing the menu and the wine. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the quality was excellent. Even when we were a few minutes late, they found us a nice table.

Remodeled But No Better

By MaryBrentMarks |

I had a very disappointing meal last night. Although I do appreciate a choice of small portions for some entrees, I do NOT appreciate small flavor! I ordered penne pasta with Italian sausage and a a descriptive sauce. There was not enough sauce and I had to request more. The sausage was absolutely tasteless. I did not eat much of the meal since we had been to a happy hour at Flemings across the street. Our waiter whisked away my meal before I could ask my husband if he wanted to lunch on it the next day. Then our waiter (Danny) argued with me that I told him to take it away. Finally a manager came by to try to assuage the situation and brought me a meal to go. I hope my husband finds it appealing.

Always great food

Ate outside as weather was perfect. Everything was great—their house wine is wonderful. Panini, pizza, soup and salad—everyone enjoyed their food. Good service too.

S'Mores Made at the Table

By viamaduro |

The food was delicious and the service was incredible. The best part though was when we ordered S'Mores for desert and they brought all the fixin's right to the table. We put the marshmallows on the stick and roasted them over the Sterno flame. After melting them onto the chocolate and graham crackers they tasted as good as the campfire variety!! Love the food, the service, and the unique dessert.

Pleasant spot, quality menu

By Jim H |

I visit Piatti every few months for lunch with colleagues or dinner with family. The menu is uniformly high quality. I favor the salmon, which so far has been cooked properly, on a bed of spring greens. Carpaccio also. Good martinis. Dining with others, I've never heard a complaint and will continue dining here.

Piatti's is lovely

Piatti's has a marvelous menu. Their meat sauce is awesome and their Lemon Sauce on the spinach ricotta is awesome. We sat outside and had a wonderful dinner with excellent food, wine, service and ambience.

Worst dining experience ever

By James S |

Always enjoyed Piatti during previous visits to SAT, so thought we'd give it another try. Things have really gone downhill! We ordered a bottle of wine, and waited 15 minutes for it to be brought to our table. I had to point out the wine on the wine list because the server didn't think they had what I was ordering. We ordered dinner, and the server never brought out the bread. We had to ask for it. (It was brought out to his other tables before their meals were served.) I ordered the chicken pesto penne. Not sure what they've done to the pesto sauce, but it contained too much basil and too much tomato paste. Very over powering and acidic. Horrible! The dish was supposed to contain asparagus, but I never found any. The server never came back to check on us, but finally brings us our check, after which our check and my credit card sat on the table for another 15 minutes. I finally got up and went to the point of sale station and asked another server to cash us out. (The server's other tables were getting plenty of attention.) My advice: don't go there!

Always great

Have eaten here many times on visits to San Antonio. The food and service are great--nice outdoor seating. Good food choices.

Good Food

By TwoTexanstraveling |

We enjoy the quarry and stopped by for dinner. We chose Piatti for dinner. At first, we were concerened with the service, but the waiter did improve as the meal progressed. We had spaghetti, one with Bolognese and one with meatballs. Bolognese was better, but both were worth a return visit. For the 2 spaaghettis and 2 glasses of the 'house ' wine we spent $ 70 with tip.

Disappointing New Place

By Francisco S |

Just visited the newly remodeled Piatti’s. This used to be our favorite restaurant. We were very surprised to find out that the remodeled restaurant completely changed the menu. Also the Kitchen would not take any special requests like splitting a dish in 2 separate plates. They would ask for us to split it. They no longer offer a good selection of side dishes even if they have the ingredients they would not prepare anything special. They also now charge for the bread which used to be complimentary. Overall it was very disappointing

Quality has declined

By Placido521 |

We have been to Piatti's many times over the years . First of all, time for a remodel. Secondly, the service was lackluster. I had a sad little piece of salmon with some partly sautéed spinach. Blah for $17. My partner had crepes with lobster and crab in an overpowering cream sauce. The menu needs an upgrade. Overall, it is still better than many places, but it could be better.

Fabulously and predictably excellent

By socalgalx4 |

This particular Piatti restaurant is one that I go to for business meals most often. The service and food is always so good, the ambiance is always so fragrant and lovely. Added plus is that this hotel is in Alamo Heights, which means you can bring your dog and eat on the patio.

Lame

By John H |

Bad Service was equally as bad as the Chicken Parmigiana . The sauce tasted like old grease was involved . I heard zero activity in kitchen ,interesting to me . We were a bit early 5pm.The wife had some wine which she really liked a rose. The appetizers were LAME . The restaurant was clean . It seems management were still too young and inexperienced to run a good ristorante in the quarry, sorry but would like more respectful and sincere service. The place had spare customers FYI

Great for lunch

By ClassicTheatre |

We've been to Piattis several times and the latest was a lovely patio lunch on a perfect fall day. They serve really good bread before meal - and with if you want more. Had my favorite salad of mixed greens with grilled salmon. We also tried the private label wine which was excellent. Food is reasonably priced at lunch; wine is too much.
