Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, plenty of food, but nothing spectacular. Some veggies were probably from the can.

A small, but nice restaurant with Italian cuisine. All the dishes were tasty and pleasantly presented. Nice staff and really good service.

The people were friendly. The food was delicious. I'm ready to go back. I had the Linguine with clams while the husband had a pasta with sausage and broccoli. We were both very satisfied. Dessert was affogato which was an ice cream with an espresso shot poured over it. Yum!

Returned to SF after 2 years and returned to eat at this restaurant that has wonderful service and wonderful food. We had a very early dinner and we were taken care of with such service ! The food here is very authentic and very good ! It is right on the corner opposite Washington Park and if the weather is great you can sit bistro style outside and people watch. Definitely would recommend reservations for in the short time that we were there the place had filled up.

We opted for 4 Italian first courses: gnocchi with gorgonzola (there was no gorgonzola but meat sauce), two carbonare that were IMMEDIBLE and a disgusting baked pasta. Amazing prices. The bread they usually bring for free costs $4.00! Not recommended

What a lovely place to eat on a lazy Saturday afternoon. We had passed the restaurant when we had walked into town so decided to have an early dinner their. We didn’t book and there was plenty of room. I had pasta and my OH had Calzone and neither of us could finish them as the portions are big.

My boyfriend happened upon Pellegrini. Where do I Commence?. The service is impeccable! Attentive server and made us feel comfortable. The pizza ~ I am so picky and the pizza was AWESOME! Cornmeal crushed. Thinner crust, fresh prosciutto, mozzarella, and arugula. Yum. Then we ordered the pappardelle and short ribs with the most amazing sauce that accompanied a fresh flat noodles . One of the most authentic places and fun - Pauline and Kenny

While returning from our trip to the Golden Gate, we luckily stumbled upon this Italian restaurant. The food was extremely tasty and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend a visit!

4 years ago my wife and I were travelling with 5 other couples and on one night we snuck away for a quiet romantic meal together. 10 minutes after sitting down the 5 other couples walked through the door, our romantic night ceased. This week we decided that we would try again whilst visiting from Australia. We bumped into the owner and after hearing our amusing story he reserved the very same table. Wow fantastic meal, fantastic service it was a special night and we will be back in sooner than 4 years I hope.

The food is excellent! I had for main course a sea- fruit boal which was very very good and my husband had a pasta whic he also liked very much. The service is very good and we highly recommend this restaurant.

we met family there for a Sunday night dinner, place was a great atmosphere, excellent attention by the owner and the staff, and a great meal- ANd THE FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE IS TO DIE FOR!

saw a parking place in front of pizza Pellegrini we had been look for a Italian restaurant MY SON AND I ALWAYS HAVE LASAGNA for Thanksgiving as we do not like Turkey It was great number two on my list sorry number one is at my house. minestrone soap hit the spot as it was cold for Floridians would have liked to try their pizza!

On a beautiful Saturday in February al fresco dinning at its best. Terrific service and wonderful food. The smells and the presentation were classic Italian. We had one of the best margarita pizzas ever and chioppino full of crab mussels clams and fish with a sauce good to the last drop. If you are in the north beach area you can't go wrong. By the way Danielle was a great waitress

So, have you ever been on a vacation and had a wonderful meal and then years later you find the same spot and the meal is just as wonderful? Well I have :) We were in SF for T-giving weekend and had talked about an AMAZING Italian place we happened into years earlier with our young daughters and now as empty nesters we were back. We found Piazza Pellegrini years ago and as we drove our Go Car around North Beach we were thrilled to find this place again. I had originally made a res at a place near by but we thought why not. Well we were just as pleased. I had the eggplant parmigiana and husband had seafood risotto and we had the antipasto for the appetizer. It was a wonderful dinner outside, great service, great atmosphere and we felt like regulars. A WONDERFUL place and it is good for families and couples.

Bad experience. Pasta carbonara not good. Just enough meat lasagna. Price not justified for what eaten.

What a special find!!! Friendly and attentive staff with amazing food. So good, my husband and I returned the following day!! Both times - great service by our servers.

Bad, very bad. The pasta dishes, really, bad. The waiter, Mexican, nice and friendly and attentive but his effort was not compensated

Awesome food and service. We arrived an hour before closing and were conscious of their closing time, as to not hold them back, but they continued to serve right to the end. The Owner and staff very professional, friendly and chatty. We have been coming to SFO for 13 years and sadly did not know it existed. We were recommended by our hotel. Spot on. We sat indoors. Outdoors nice also, with traffic buzzing by. We recommend the whole menu. We had Sole, Risotto and Arancini. Dessert superb, Apple and Apricot.

We had fantastic food, both tasty and Italian authentic. The four of us tried several dishes, first and main, and all of them were excellent. The service was also effective and geared towards pleasing the customers. Highly recommended!

We ducked into this restaurant for dessert and to warm up. The staff was super nice and attentive. We had creme brûlée which my son loved and I had a profiterole which was very good and the hot chocolate was real, no powdered stuff here. and nice coffee. The desserts are plenty large enough to share so be aware. The location is off a super busy street but don't let the location deter you. The food looks great and the staff is very nice and I heard a bit of Italian from the kitchen and waiters so this is the real deal. Try it!

Great little sidewalk Italian!!! Had to visit twice it was so good- service excellent- great people watching across from Washington Square .... the Four cheese pizza was some of the best I've had!!!

My wife is delighted by food, she asked for Osobuco and basically almost married the chef! Great place, not fancy, good enough, fast, nice, great attention by everyone Prices more than good, they could charge you 50% more and no problem (if you love good food)

We were walking up Columbus and decided this was the place for dinner. We were able to sit on the patio on a beautiful evening. We had the calamari (which needed some salt) for starters. I loved my tortellini with pancetta and peas. For desert we had the tart with fruit. Yummy! I recommend this restaurant a lot. (The pizza looked yummy!).

Really fantastic restaurant with very pleasant waiters and attentive busboy. The food was just so nice and really enjoyed sitting outside and watching the hustle and bustle pass by while sipping a lovely glass of wine. Woukd highly recommend.

We passed this place the night before we went and it was packed--now we know why! Between 2 people, we split the pizza primavera (veggie pizza) and the eggplant parmesan, which were both delicious. Someone else got the pizza quattro formaggio, and after trying a slice of theirs, I wish I had gotten that! If you love cheese like I do, get that pizza! We got 2 bottles of the chianti, which was amazing! Our waitress was great and very accommodating and attentive for our party of 8. Highly recommend!!

Came here for a nice, relaxed, lunch outside before heading to the airport. Service was not up to scratch and we were ignored for the first 10 minutes after arrival, after which we had to get up and collect the menus from the desk ourselves. Food came wrong, twice, from a server who “had been here for years” but seemed highly unexperienced. Charged $20 for a mediocre bowl of pasta and $19 for a soggy based pizza. We were charged $21 for 2 Affogato which came contrary to how we ordered. When discussing with a manager at the end of our meal, we were confronted by an abrupt, rude manager who did not much else than tell us how long he’s lived here. Will not be returning after a highly disappointing experience

Having passed this storefront restaurant the previous evening, I took note of the warm, exotic aromas that identified this location as a “must” to visit. The building is approachable and polite in its visage. It is well decorated and professionally staffed... clean and well tended. There is a small outdoor eating area which is streetside, yet far enough from the curb to insulate you from too much exposure to pedestrians and traffic. The waiter, Alessandro, was superb in his skills, very discreet and polished for a young man, who was attentive and willing to converse in a respectful and gentle manner. He answered all our questions concerning the fare and libations to our expectations The meal was delivered in short order; an appetizer of tomato, mozzarella, and basil, beautifully presented with crisp bread and oil. The entrees included grilled salmon with vegetables and spaghetti and meatballs. Both were delicious and well portioned plates. The salmon was not seasoned though some salt and pepper did enhance the flavor. Wine and beer were also enjoyed. The room never quite filled up but their was a steady stream of tourists coming and going, speaking a multitude of languages but all seeming to enjoy the atmosphere and subtle charm of the location, food and staff.

Walked in without a reservation on a Thursday night. Only one waiter for the whole place, so basic service only. Great food, especially the lasagna.

Dont bother. Looks charming and seems crowded but its all tourists. Food is nothing special. Says $$ but dishes are moderately expensive. Don’t they know they are surrounded by like 50 other Italian places? They could try just a little bit harder.

Great lunch sitting outside. Fantastic pizza and chicken wings! Beats Tony’s up the road! Recommend for a great lunch

I can't wait to take my family to Pellegrini. Went there twice while in SF on business. If you read this, just do it. You wont be disappointed. Great location, great atmosphere and accommodating staff who know food. I'll be back, and I'm in Australia.

On a beautiful sunny San Francisco day, this place was the perfect venue to have a glass of wine and enjoy an appetizer on the front patio. The antipasta was delicious and massive- a great dish to share!

Hopped off the Cable Car at Mason & Columbus in search of a nice Italian meal. Soon into our journey we found Piazza Pellegrini. Took a look at their menu and decided this was the spot as they have one of my favorites "Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare"on the menu. My meal came loaded with lots of mussels and a bowl full of other seafood treats. It was delicious and served by a wonderful first class staff. My wife and I completed our tasty meal sharing an order of Profitterole (cream puff w/gelato). We eat frequently in North Beach when visiting San Francisco. Enjoying trying new places each time. We were very happy with our choice.

Piazza Pelligrini is an annual treat for us. We order the same great dish, Pappardelle Pellegrini, and a Chianti. I love it when you hear lots of Italian being spoken at the next table.

Cute place in Little Italy that has rather authentic food. We especially enjoyed the pizza! Wait staff was very friendly.

Best Italian I’ve had in a long time. Cute spade and good service. Portions are huge and so are the pours.

We had dinner in this lovely restaurant I ate a delicious soup Kids menu (good and hearty pasta) with supply of colors and designs for entertainment My husband took spaghetti with clams were not the top but passable. Also good tiramisu sin that revisited with chocolate chips that did not fit Would stay again. Affordable prices Friendly staff

2nd time eating here and it did not disappoint. Very much like eating in Europe! I've had the homemade Pappardelle Pellegrini and the Fettuccini ala Amatriciana. Both amazing! This place will always be on my list of the "go to" places in San Francisco.

After three weeks of cruising the West coast national parks, we were really longing for some more European style of food and chanced on this Italian restaurant on Washington square. Not only was service excellent, but the food was really Italian and very tasty, at affordable prices. We went back on the following day and were greeted like regular customers

We had a great meal and night at Piazza Pellegrini. Service was good despite busy restaurant on Valentines Day. Special chicken involtini was the best. Highly recommended as it was also a quick walk from Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel.

Casual neighborhood Italian restaurant , prices reasonable, pizza is great, service was very good. Smaller venue and charming location, also tried the fire-grilled salmon which was delicious. Enjoy

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Piazza Pellegrini. NO turkey but lots of great Italian food. Service is excellent. The place is homey and feels like the family run business it is ( I think). The very multicultural clientel that night was the embodiment of what Thanksgiving is all about. All races and ages gathering in friendship and good food! I highly recommend a visit!

Best Italian in North Beach I love this place on corner of Filbert and Columbus. The spaghetti with meat balls are excellent, Del mare excellent i liked the flavors it’s a cute place with outside tables.

This place was fantastic. Food was amazing, service too. Gets very busy so book ahead. The award winning meatballs and sauce one of the best things ever and deserts ..... save some space for the fantastic profiteroles Great atmosphere - have a drink outside before your meal and watch the world go by.

In nicer weather there is an outside patio. Beers are $8.00. We has spaghetti carbonara ... Kinda gummy... But the pizza special was wonderful and authentic. We had a couple of carafes of house wine which were actually pretty good. The waiter was Italian and performed perfectly. We lingered over dinner with our old friends and never felt rushed. Old world, old school. Great location in North Beach.

All around fantastic. Fried calamari and fried shrimp appetizer was outstanding. I loved the horseradish sauce. Margherita pizza was perfect. It was more of an American style pizza with an even layer of tomato sauce and cheese all the way across. It was cooked to perfection. The crust had a crispy cornmeal base, and it was perfectly crispy all the way across. Absolutely no soggy center. I recommend allowing this pizza to cool a little bit before digging in. The first bites weren't quite as flavorful because the pizza was so hot. But once it cooled just a little, the amazing flavor and texture was much easier to enjoy. Service was fantastic. Diet Pepsi glass was always full. I dined out on the sidewalk at one of the wooden tables. There are overhead heaters if you prefer, but I just enjoyed wearing a hoodie without overhead heat.

Delicious Italian food tucked in a small corner of SF. Felt just like visiting Italy with service, decor and food. Generous pours of Pinot noir. Classic menu, pappardelle and chicken Parmesan were filling and hit the spot. Patio was adorable and packed.

Enjoyed it. We visited with my sister and brother in law. We shared two pizzas and my wife and I shared a salad. A bottle of Hess Cabernet. Great dinner. We sat outside under a heater. Food and service were good just a great evening.

Stumbled across this little place and decided to have dinner. Served quickly and food arrived quickly too. Pizza was nice and filling had to take a slice home! Good selection too.

We were walking up from the piers and needed some refreshment; Washington Square is part of little Italy it seems and what a great place to sit out under the heaters for a half carafe of very pleasant house red. We were offered menus but not pushed to order food (it was around 5.30pm). But as we studied the menu and enjoyed watching the busy square, we worked up an appetite. We noted a table empty just inside the large windows and moved inside. The food was very well cooked and presented and very good value. Our tab was $68. Highly recommended as a place to relax and feel good

I highly suggest the Bennedict Eggs, I have a really good attention and the restaurant is not that crowded.

My wife, three very picky-eating daughters and me were exploring San Francisco on foot and popped into this airy North Beach restaurant. Two friendly older Italian men ran and served at the place. Indoor and extensive outdoor seating on a busy neighborhood street across from the Washington Square park and St. Peter and Paul's Church popular with locals. Handmade pasta, fresh baked bread, wine, and much more. Popular with locals and Italian families, and seemed to be good for people out on dates. Food and atmosphere so good that we came back two more times over the next week at my daughters' insistence. This NEVER happens with my family. Beautiful place.

The Fettuccine all´ Amatriciana was very good. The pasta and pizza was also very good according to my family. We were able to put two tables together outside for a family of 5. It was enjoyable to sit outside on a nice day. Service was great.

Wonderful Italian food in a comfortable casual traditional San Francisco atmosphere, across from Columbus Square and Sts Peter and Paul Church— where Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio posed for wedding pictures. Excellent service as well.

Great food, warm and welcoming atmosphere & very drinkable wines! The pasta with short rib ragu sauce was lovely, some of us shared dishes as too many good choices, and they were happy to supply the extra plates !

Really a pleasant surprise, very well lunched, good value for money We had the pleasure of meeting personally the Italian owner with whom we had a pleasant conversation Away from home I felt almost at home, and abroad is not so obvious

We were walking along in the Washington Square area and decided to stop for a drink and a little people watching. Only stayed for drinks and decided to move on as we were not hungry, but menu looked reasonably priced. People were friendly and service was good.

I recently ate here with my adult daughter. Sitting out in the narrow front sidewalk porch on a SF evening was very nice! Word has it the patio out back is one of the best in North Beach. Great, personalized service -- totally on top of the menu and wine selections -- excellent food, and reasonably priced menu made this a great place to go.

We were really late for lunch, and we discovered Piazza Pellegrini by sheer chance. All pasta and salads were great, and we had a hearty italian lunch in this small neighborhood restaurant.

Visited here once whilst in SFO, hadn’t done any research but it was busy so thought that was a good sign, and it turned out to be so. We all had a different meals and all meals where super tasty, the favourites being the slow cooked beef pappardelle. The waiter was attentive and even sorted out my fussy son with a perfect dish of penne carbonara although this wasn’t on the menu. We enjoyed our meal and I would go again!

Rude staff, poor service, some dishes we ordered were not correct, to top it off food was ordinary. Real shame with all of the restaurants around Little Italy.

My daughter and I stopped in for a late lunch. I had veal piccata and my daughter had clams and linguini. Very good food and excellent service. Another lucky find as we were walking around North Beach area.

Food was excellent. I had pappardelle pellegrine and the flavour was beautiful. The Caesarea salad to start was good and the affogato to finish perfect. Service very good.

Went as family of four. We all rated this one of the highlights of our entire trip. Amazing food. Had shared starters, pasta and desserts too. Good house wine also. Lovely welcoming authentic atmosphere and totally delicious food. Squash ravioli was perfect. A slight error was made in one person's order. This was dealt with quickly and professionally so not an issue at all.

It's had delicious food and beautiful location. The waiters were kind and the service was quick. Tasted fried calamari and shrimp, risotto from the special menu and angel hair spaghetti <3 I recommend the homemade wine too

While walking through little Italy we stopped here for lunch. It was not the cleanest of restaurants as we sat by the window where the art decor was evidently very dusty (not sure if this was the look but that can't be a thing in a restaurant). That being said we were hungry so we looked past that. We had lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs and both were good. The place was empty though and there were other little eateries that had more of a crowd. Not sure what that means but our experience was good.

Got off the bus randomly at Filbert just to wander in Little Italy and walked by this small restaurant. The menu was simple, and somewhat skewed towards fish dishes. We started by sharing a beautifully prepared burata and arugala salad. For the main course my wife chose pappardelle with a short rib ragu and I had fettuccine with a pesto based sauced. Both dishes were cooked perfectly, served steaming hot, and were absolutely delicious. The only disappointment was the connolo which was soggy and barely filled with a dried-up cream. There's a pastry and confection store across the street. Next time I visit Pelligrini, I'll know to cross the street.

We were on our way to another restaurant when we passed by Pellegrini. My mother's favorite professor in college had the same name so she thought it was a sign that we should eat there. We settled ourselves at one of the sidewalk tables and ordered some Pinot grigio. The waitstaff were friendly and courteous and possibly Italian? I couldn't quite discern the accent. We shared an insalata mista (tasty!) and the Pellegrini Papparadelle. Fresh noodles in a delicious ragu. An accidental discovery that dazzled our taste buds!

This restaurant is a fun place to eat. The waiters were friendly and helpful. It seems authentic. The food was just average. It was good, better than chains like Olive Garden or Romano's Macaroni Grill, but it was not outstanding. My wife and I both enjoyed our meal.

We were super hungry after the Fleet Week Air Show and looking for somewhere to sit down and snack a bit. Piazza Pellegrini was the first one we found as casual and relaxed place when we walked down from Maritime Historical Park to North Beach. Located on the busy Columbus Avenue, it has a small outdoor seating area. We ordered Capricciosa and it was a great choice for two starved men. Mushroom, egg, prosciutto, artichoke hearts & olives made the pizza richly nutritious. It fed two adults very well.

A friend and I were just walking around town. It was about 9:00PM and we were HUNGRY! Walked by about 10 Italian restaurants in North Beach and this one had a special quality about it. Informal, busy, smelled great...so we were sat at one of the sidewalk tables. Radiant heaters kept us warm. We ordered some great Syrah and our mains both of which tasted great. We happened to be sat next to the owner and had a great conversation. His employees really seem to like him which makes a difference and results in the great service we enjoyed! Go!!

We drove past this restaurant earlier in the day and decided we would have dinner here as it looked busy and we'll staffed. And we had such a wonderful meal, the quality of the freshly made food was outstanding, the waiter was entertaining and we had a beautiful time, definitely highly recommended. By far the best Italian restaurant in the San Francisco area for me.

Actually we did not visit the resturant, but stayed outside where they have a small food truck with drink and proper espresso. Lack of espresso was killing me, so it felt like oasis:). Views to the Washington square.

Had the BEST pizza here after the wait at Tony's was 90 mins!!! Service was excellent and range of Italian food was very good. A lovely atmospheric restaurant.

We had a great meal and night at Piazza Pellegrini. Service was good despite busy restaurant on Valentines Day. Special chicken involtini was the best. Highly recommended as it was also a quick walk from Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel.

I am glad we made reservations as the restaurant was humming on an early Saturday night- always a good sign - we we seated inside next to the window and were attended to very promptly and courteously by both staff - unfortunately the Chicken Involtini had sold out, but the Chicken Marsala was delicious - wine by the carafe was nice to see - there was a mix-up in the ordering, but the mistake was rectified. I thought a great evening complemented by an efficient and professional maitre'd - the atmosphere was great and everyone seemed to be having an excellent time!

Wonderful dinner in Little Italy We highly recommend veal Parmesan and penna prosciutto with a glass of there house Chianti or Pinot noir yummy

We happened upon this restaurant after a day of walking around San Francisco, and what a fabulous find it was! The service was top notch, the food was simply scrumptious, and the overall experience could not have been better!

Had the dungeness cioppino and a nice glass of Chianti. It was amazing. From the fish and shellfish to the half crab. Messy, fun and delicious. So worth it. Will be back. Thank you.

Always saw this place as I walked by Colombus Ave and it looked so much fun with their cute outside seating area. I'm talking about the outside section way in the back where the Cafe is! We came here Pride Sunday chilling and having rose wine which was delightful. Service is friendly and hassle free. Comfortable seating and very casual. Fun place to enjoy on a sunny day! Not super crowded either

The service and food were delish! We were four people we split one appetizer one pasta and one entrée and were all full and satisfied. The bread was the perfect combination of hard crust and soft inside .

The first impression of the restaurant was good, but poor customer service and unclean bathrooms ruined it. Prices are ok. However will not come back again

Loved the ambiance! Reminded us of restaurants in Italy... very authentic. Food is absolutely delicious... staff is extremely attentive....we will definitely come back next time we are in San Francisco ❤️

Casual. Welcoming. Felt like home. Loved the food. The calamari and shrimp antipasti was wonderfully tender and easily fed the three of us. The chicken parmigiana came in a wonderfully fresh tomato sauce with just enough spices. Wonderfully done. Looking forward to a return trip to taste more of the dishes. Located in the wonderful North Beach neighborhood in San Francisco.

we sat outside on busy columbus st with a nice chianti and a basket of bread and it made me miss italy. our waiter was personable and quick. we had a margarhita pizza and it was delicious. highly recommend.

Having spent a few evenings in this area, we sat outside the bar next door having a beer as the evening was warm and there was music playing in the outside space. It was busy but if we were prepared to wait they would seat us. It is small inside and the tables very close. There is outside or inside seating and the food was some of the nicest Arrabiatta I have tasted, just enough chilli. Lovely food, pleasant staff

We stopped in here for dessert, coffee, and drinks while in the area. Both of the desserts we tried were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. They also had a great wine selection and delicious espresso.

First off the waiter not only did not speak English but did not know the menu. I order chicken parmesan which came with circle chunky bones broken and Scattered throughout the chicken. Upon closer examination which I really didn't have to look so close to see what was obvious the bones of the chicken show that this chicken was extremely sick and not a healthy chicken and was only obvious they were trying to cut Corners by buying disease Birds to serve to their customers and when I brought this issue up with the staff they really didn't seem to care which is obviously because their business is mostly turist and they are not concerned with repeat customers. Another comment I would like to make is that the tomato sauce was not only really bad but was at least 50% sugar. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody that I cared about and will definitely not be eating here again

We stopped for a quick bite, service was very friendly, had fried calamari which I find wasn't cooked enough, my wife had pizza and I had chicken parmigiana, both were extremely salty, all in all it was a pleasant experience because of the friendly service but we don't think of going back!!

Looked like a cute place. We bought slices. Disgusting - comparable to Little Cesar's, maybe not that good. Cold, undercooked, greasy... just awful. I was with my family so did not go and complain. Had I been alone, I'd have asked for a refund.

Food was overpriced and there was only two waiters. The pizza crust tasted frozen. Pasta was good but we found food was overpriced for what you get.

Wow, you must eat at this restaurant. Best Italian food We have ever had. The service was second to none creating a great atmosphere. I wish I coils remover the wine they recommended.

The food here is delicious.. great pasta and delicious gnocchi...pizzas reportedly excellent too. The place has a nice vibe and the staff are super friendly and efficient. One of the best places I ate at during my stay.

Very kind service , clean , good portions , very good taste , wide options well location, parking very close

We visited here on a recommendation from our tour guide and we're not disappointed! The meatballs and spinach ravioli are not ones to miss, however make sure you save space for dessert! The service was fantastic and there is also a great outdoor space for drinks or eating. Do not miss this place!

I won’t go into reams of words, simple may be more effective. Toilets dirty, food not seasoned, over cooked pasta, tasteless calzone however excellent customer service.

Our first night in SF and we were very hungry. We chose this restaurant because it looked very pretty and authentic Italian. The waiters were lovely and one had the most amazing eyes 😍 , the food was delicious and we were treated very well. We arrived late and never felt rushed to finish although they were closing . The staff were very kind to allow us time to eat and drink. Thank you

Very simply put, this was the best meal I had in San Francisco while there for a week. They even had chianti wine. Best tasting pasta dinner! I highly recommend it. You can eat inside or outside.

Good location overlooking washington square.. quality fresh ingredients and well prepared and presented.. service was good and prompt ..quality restaurant.. prices were reasonable

Great food and service. Friendly server. Fish (salmon and halibut) was amazing. Pizza was great as was ravioli

Get the Gorgonzola gnocchi here! Sooo yummy! I've had gnocchi in Italy and this is very much on that level. Excellent view when you sit outside. Be sure to go during the non-lunch hours for quick service and excellent staff.

Great food with attentive, friendly service. Nice location opposite Washington Park. Lovely place for food!

After a long day of touring SF, we wanted to sit back, relax, and enjoy a nice dinner in Little Italy. Piazza Pellegrini looked cute and caught our eye. Wish we had known that they were really having a bad day. The fault lies exclusively at the hands of our waiter. We were seated rather quickly, and it took some time for the waiter to acknowledge us. His first visit was not to take our order, but to let us know who he was - we tried to order a drink, but he was too busy. After a while, he returned and took our order. He specifically asked my wife if she wanted the white wine or tomato sauce with her seafood pasta, and he recommended the white wine sauce. About 10 minutes later, he came back and told us he misplaced our order - could we please tell him what we ordered again. When she ordered, he again asked which sauce she wanted, and again made the suggestion of white wine sauce. After another 20-25 minutes, another server brought over our dishes. You guessed it - he got it wrong. The seafood pasta in white wine sauce suddenly transformed to spaghetti with meatballs. When advised that they delivered the wrong plate, there was a very perplexed look. We were told they would make the dish. We weren't told that it would take another 20 minutes. So, while my son and I ate our meals, my wife had to sit and watch. When her meal was delivered, it was quite shocking to see how small the seafood pasta order was for the price we paid. We most certainly understand that mistakes can be made. But when a waiter takes your order twice AND makes recommendations both times, that is on him. My complaint is not the mistakes. Nor the food. It is with the flippant disregard of the wait staff, who never once apologized, and never once checked in on us to make sure all was OK. We weren't looking for a free or comped meal. It just would have been nice for the waiter and his manager to have simply checked in on us and apologized for the inconvenience. Restaurants are not judged by how they perform when the going is good. They are judged by how they handle adversity. Piazza Pellegrini unfortunately failed when they faced adversity. Write it off as a bad night. But we won't be taking that risk again.

Really enjoyed our dinner here . Our waiter was so helpful and fully understood the dietary restrictions of one of our party of 4. The cioppino was superb! Highly recommend this great restaurant

So happy we stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around Little Italy. It's easy to get lost amongst all the Italian restaurants in this area but this once will not disappoint. Location was perfect, service was great and the food was delicious! Great place for a romantic date night! The plates averaged anywhere from 12-25$. We enjoyed a glass of wine, incredible garlic bread (must have), a salad appetizer and an entree each and was around 70$. Have no complaints, the food was incredible and only wished we had a microwave in our hotel so we could of taken some leftovers back. Afterwards we were able to enjoy a walk through Little Italy and a short .5 walk to Lombard Street! If you're in Little Italy, definitely stop by this restaurant and you won't be disappointed. We had made reservations ahead of time but when we arrived we got seated right away by the window but it was also a Monday night and Little Italy was fairly quiet. I'd recommend reservations ahead of time just in case, especially on weekends. Enjoy!

Just happened to walk by this Italian restaurant in little Italy and it looked so inviting! Lovely lights outside that made it look so cosy and the heaters outside meant you could enjoy dining alfresco. The food is delicious really good quality and the staff were kind and welcoming. Would highly recommend this place as it has alfresco dining, nice view of the square, great food and fantastic hospitality.

We’ve never had calamari grotto that was so perfectly cooked, crispy and not greasy. We followed with the pappardelle in short rib sauce and the gnocchi bolognese. This is simple, great, and authentic Italian food.

I saw it while driving past and I was irresistibly attracted! The spritz on the terrace in the sun was great and then the Caesar salad with its top vinaigrette which is increasingly rare in restaurants but there!! Great!! The pepperoni pizza was very good too! Flawless!!

Best italian food Ive ever had. You could taste thay everything is made fresh. The espresso was great!!

The place is very clean and welcoming. The restaurant was full, but we didn’t have to wait too long to be seated. We ordered a portion of clams and mussels, all very fresh. The pizza I ordered was very good and close to the real Italian pizza. I recommend this place if you want some nice Italian food. It’s even hard to find. Good location.

The service was friendly, and the regular menu was very good, but what stood out the most was the flourless chocolate cake. My family of six dumbly decided to share a piece, and, what is normally an easy way to get dessert, became a battle of the fittest. If nothing else peaks your interest, the cake most definitely will.

Up on a hill over San Francisco bay is a small family restaurant, in a fine neighborhood. We walked up from Pier 39 and all its milling crowd and stepped into this gem. There is outside or inside seating. San Francisco is temperate a lot of the year, so they can do that, not like my native Michigan. The aroma of finely crafted Italian food had my mouth watering. They were busy, but seated us soon. Because of limited space, the tables and chairs are close together, and so you must be in the mood for a family gathering, which is what it felt like. Everybody happy and talking over each other. I had spaghetti and meatballs and some of the best of my life. We felt more like we were in a small town than a major city. A great way to end the day on the bay!

Food was really good. Service was great. Thank you Danielle for the great service! Ended up coming here randomly.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Friendly staff and delicious food. The boss was very attentive and nice to talk to. I had Minestrone soup followed by Lasagna and my wife had a Spaghetti dish and a sweet. It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary meal and it was great. Thanks and please go if you get a chance

We decided to go out in San Francisco without a reservation, hoping there would be an Italian restaurant that could squeeze us in. We found Pellegrini... the food was fab, we had 2 humongous pasta dishes which were absolutely delicious. We had an outside table, which was a little chilly, but not to worry as they could turn the heaters on, leaving us a lot more comfortable. I am glad we stumbled upon this restaurant, as we truly enjoyed the food here.

This was my favourite meal while in San Fran. I had quite a basic pasta dish but the quality of the fresh ingredients made it the best that I had. Waiters were attentive. Definitely a must visit if you like Italian food.

Amazing Caesar salad. One the best ever Pizza was wonderful, authentic Italian pizza, not too much sauce , and not dry. Wonderful calm atmosphere. Nice low lighting. It faces Columbus and faces saint peters and Paul Catholic Church. And Washington park. Great view Worth a look. For sure.

The top! Very good food (especially for the USA) Friendly Welcoming Found by chance. Let yourself do it is safe

Excellent restaurant, we arrived there by chance and what a find! Very good and plentiful meal. Pleasant and caring service. Our 3 dishes were excellent! Not to be missed!

We had dinner during one of the hottest days ever in SF, so we were lucky te seated at the small but nice terrace. The food was fairly authentic, although the pasta con vongole was quitte different from what you'll get served in Italy. In walking range from fisherman's wharf and definately recommended for a nice italian dinner when in SF.

Stumbled upon this place and decided to take a chance. Glad we did!! Great food and service. Staff were very helpful with suggestions. We had a wonderful experience sitting outside & just relaxing.

We were here in 2011 and had great memories and great food. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to our memories. We were there on a Sunday night and ordered a margarita pizza, eggplant parmigiana, and a fettuccine with a arrabiata sauce. The pizza had lots of cheese and no sauce. Pretty disappointing. The eggplant didn’t appear to be freshly made and possibly re heated. The fettuccini was our favorite but just so so. Staff and service was very good. The biggest issue was the people next to us had a bug in their tiramisu; and then when we got up to leave there was a cockroach on the wall. Unfortunately we probably won’t be back.

We had just finished Alcatraz and it was raining so we decided to go for a late lunch, early dinner. We happened upon this restaurant and loved it!

We were at the Presidio and came across a local landscape painter. We spoke about going out to “Little Italy” for dinner. The painter suggested this restaurant. In his words, Piazza P. was not a big name fancy restaurant, but the food was excellent. A local recommendation and he was right. Excellent Italian food at a good San Francisco price. Service was excellent and his recommendations were spot on. Home made food and excellent deserts.

Very busy, but very good! Server was very funny. Food was excellent. Look forward to going back soon!

Great Pizza and Pasta place, the team is very friendly and caring. Prices are high though. 22USD for a Pizza seems too much. The taste is delicious!

My boyfriend and I ate here one evening after touring the city. We walked up to view the menu, and then when we said we wanted to stay, no one seated us. There were 2 gentlemen serving that evening, and the younger of the two somehow seemed to wish we weren't there, barely acknowledging us the entire time, until we were getting ready to leave. The older gentleman finally sat us and eventually gave us water, which we had to refill ourselves. The bread tasted stale. It was about 15 minutes until he took our order. I had spinach ravioli and my boyfriend had a salad and the roasted chicken. The other patrons outside and several inside seemed to be locals, or at least well known to the staff. They were very chatty and attentive with them, but we were largely ignored. When the food did come, it was delicious. Not sure what was happening here, but it was weird.

I always come back when visiting San Francisco. I love their sauces for the pastas dishes. . It’s quant right across from St Peters and St Paul’s Church and Washington Square. They have an extensive menu with yummy Italian dishes. It’s a must go place.

This was a big disappointment. We come from Boston and have had our fair share of great Italian food - this did not even compare. Extremely bland chicken parm with a huge bone taking up half the piece of chicken? My girlfriends chicken brocolli Alfredo was watery and flavorless with frozen broccoli on top. Completely disappointing for the prices. Would not recommend. I would hope there are better options near by.

Excellent quiet place good service friendly we ordered mista salad and pasta discolo and I have to say the sauce is a delight I left the dish clean

Excellent spaghetti ai frutti di mare and fettuccine bolognese. Delicious profiteroles too. Attentive service from waiting staff aswell.

After we journeyed to Little Italy for dinner, we discovered the place we were going to was closed for some reason. Our disappointment faded when we discovered this sweet little place! I ordered Pappardelle Pellegrini, which was ribbon noodles and short rib ragu...amazing. I was craving home cooking and this satisfied me! My husband ordered the Ravioli with meat sauce. It was also very good, especially the sauce. The only complaint we had was that the dough had green spots in it, which is from the dough being refrigerated and not super fresh. That was a little disappointing but tasted perfectly fine. For dessert we ordered the affogato...vanilla gelato drowned in espresso. I wanted 5 more, let's just say that. 😂 The bread they brought out for us before dinner was also amazing! Great service and experience overall! Love the decorations, outside light, lanterns and vibe.

Simple café in North Beach offering indoor casual or sidewalk seating. Simple but broad menu and all of our dishes were very good. Roasted chicken was excellent – half chicken and the breast (white meat) was very moist. The spaghetti carbonara was excellent, pasta cooked just right and creaming carbonara sauce was awesome. The Salmon was grilled – excellent and crab cioppino was very good. Service was excellent! Only 2 little issues – it seemed to take a while to get our main courses and when we did get them the potato’s and veggies were cold (the main item, chicken and salmon were hot-just not the sides). Only other little gripe was that 3 of the 4 dishes came at the same time and we had to wait a few minutes for the 4th dish. Overall very nice simple but good, well priced and nice to sit outside. We’ll go back. Also, no full-service bar – just beer and wine.

I really wanted this place to be good but it wasn’t really very good at all. Fresh fried calamari and shrimp was not great. The batter was dry, hard and tasteless - simply no seasoning or any kind of flavour at all from the seafood or the batter. The batter was just sadly unpleasant. Carbonara was mushy and watery. The flavour was actually quite good and the spaghetti cooked beautifully, but overall the sauce was so mushy it was like baby food. I’m not joking or showing off - I have cooked much, much better carbonara than this. Spent over a hundred dollars and given the standard of what we ate I am serious when I say I just wished we’d gone to Denny’s or McDonalds instead. Oh, nearly forgot, the toilet was minging & really nasty - see photo.

I tried their very tasty dish of gnocchi alla bolognese, it was awesome! I've to Napoli, it was like being there, I loved it!

My Mom & I ate at this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday & it was so peaceful... & delicious!?!?! We were afraid we wouldnt be able to eat it all but we just about licked the plate clean! We had the lobster ravioli & Salmon Bowtie. I will most definitely be returning here on my next trip back to the city!

During our visit to San Fran we stopped in Little Italy and found this absolute gem of an Italian restaurant. The Gnocchi and Ravioli are both home made dishes and were the best we have ever had!! I can't wait to go back. When we return to san Fran there is no question we will be having dinner here again!!

Attracted by the setting and atmosphere, we dined at this good representative of Little Italy. Welcome, you can choose the traditional restaurant, or, right next door, the heated terrace. Short menu quite varied, tasty dishes, but the service is a bit long. Rates are correct for S.F.

We went in for a quick lunch with friends whilst on holiday. The food was excellent, great wine selection and friendly staff - definitely recommend!!

Beautiful location with friendly staff and delicious food. Great price for the quality of the meal! Definitely try the Gorgonzola and sausage gnocchi. It tasted absolutely fresh and homemade with the perfect combination of creamy sauce and peas. I also recommend dunking the fresh bread they give you in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The staff is also super knowledgeable of the surrounding area. I asked a lot of questions (typically tourist of me) and our server answered every single one and even gave us recommendations based off of what we asked her. So much fun! Definitely recommend going during the quieter hours if you’re in a hurry. It was slow around 2:30 so we got a table right away and our food came quickly.

As soon as we walked in the door we could smell the aromas of good Italian cooking. We were not disappointed, all our pasta dishes were fresh and full of flavour. Service was efficient. Glad that we booked, don’t think we would of got a table for 5 otherwise.

We had a late night meal here, recommended by locals, where the staff were still attentive and friendly even though we were the last ones there. We had an absolutely delicious Quattro Formaggi pizza and an exquisite lobster ravioli.

We had a great dinner at Piazza Pellegrini Sunday night. Very relaxed atmosphere, with attentive service and delicious food. The staff discouraged my wife from ordering a certain pasta dish, telling her she could do better with the ravioli. She said it was delicious. A helpful wine recommendation also came in handy. We’ll be back!

Location on point - try and get a window seat looking out over the most beautiful church. Server was lovely. Not rushed but attentive and responsive. No it’s no the cheapest place but it’s also not the most expensive. The lasagne was the nicest we have ever tasted. Lots of choice on the menu. Calamari plentiful and tasty. Nice wine options. Will be returning again before we leave.

This place was a great find. Their pasta is homemade, and fantastic! We had the meat ravioli, gnocchi and lamb ragu, and basic pepperoni pizza. All were simply delicious. Had a local feel, and outdoor seating facing Washington Square. Probably should call ahead, unless you go early or late.

Ate here on New Year's eve. Service was slow, but that's to be expected on a busy night. The spaghetti did mare (because they were out of risotto at 7) was ok. The spaghetti amatricianna was ok..the meatballs were very good.

Family of 5 visit. Table not available until 15 mins after we’d booked. Generally felt unforgotten and whilst food was OK, it’s definitely up to the level described in other reviews - which was what attracted us in the first place. There are loads of Italian places nearby - try another would be my recommendation.

Great Pizza, delicious pastas! We enjoyed our pizza so much we went back a second night for pasta. Will definitely be back! . tpadoutdoor soutdoor sp

We rolled up around 6:45pm on a Tuesday night. Seating inside was tight, so we sat outside in the patio. Given it was chilly, they turned on the outdoor heater for our table. We were quickly waited on by a server, who gave us food recommendations. Drinks and food came out rather fast for a group of 6, so that was great. I opted for the fresh squeezed lemonade and the Chicken Parmesan. My drink was very good. The entree was rather large but sufficient for someone who came hungry. The Chicken Parm wasn’t anything special, but it wasn’t bad. As such, I’m opting for 3 stars. Would I return? No, as there’s other great Italian eateries in north Beach.

We ate at this restaurant 2 years ago, having come upon it while walking through North Beach looking for a reasonably priced restaurant that wasn't too noisy. We specifically went looking for the restaurant during our recent visit to San Francisco. We found it is still as enjoyable and reasonably priced as our first visit. We arrived fairly early, around 6:00 p.m., so we had our choice of tables. This restaurant is very compact. We were served immediately. We ordered 3 dishes: pizza, lasagna, and smoked salmon pasta. There was enough food for 4 of us. We were brought delicious warm bread which is served with olive oil and a sweet balsamic vinaigrette. Water is brought in a decanter which allows one to keep their glass full throughout the meal. The pizza is delicious. The lasagna has a wonderful flavor and it is full of sauce, meat, and cheese. The smoke salmon's pasta is served slightly al dente and the sauce is mild and not overpowering. We were too full for dessert. Our bill came to $60 with tax and tip. We will definitely return when we are in San Francisco again.

The three of us were walking around Little Italy when we came across a very busy and noisy Italian restaurant, which immediately we said, "lets eat here". This place was amazing from the moment that we walked in to when we left, saying "we have to come back". From the very attentive waiter, who was talkative, knowledgeable and very friendly, to the wonderful food and wine on offer. I had the fantastic octopus bean salad, this was a large portion with lots of delicious octopus to feast on. We also had a pizza that was enough for my partner and daughter, this was perfectly cooked with tasty fresh ingredients, as you would expect. The ambiance of the restaurant never changed, it really was a wonderful lunch-time treat.

Great place to sit out side enjoy great food great beer and great company. Make sure you ask for Antonio he is great guy great server and definitely makes the experience great.

The location is fab, in the heart of North Beach italian sector. The food was exceptional, we ordered the linguine and spaghetti fruit de mare. The service was friendly and prompt. This is a must as the food really is amazing.

Tasty, espetacular lasagna. Loved... Very good spaghetti too, hot and delicious. I recomend the restaurant for a especial and true lasagna.

Apparently my tip wasn't enough because they helped themselves to more. My writing is very legible and clearly my receipt has one amount and another was taken from my account. Food was just ok, service was slow.. won't be returning.

Myself and my fellow work colleagues was on a day out this Saturday cycling bikes over the golden gate. We all decided we fancied Italian to eat that evening before we headed back to our airport hotel. We had seen the restaurant the day before whilst out and about in down town San Francisco. We went, they only had tables out side, it was a bit cold so we asked the maitre d' if we could have a table for seven inside. The maitre d' advise the table would be ready in 10 minutes and told to wait outside in the beer garden till they set up the table. Maitre d' came out 10 minutes later to say the table would be a further 10 minutes. It was cold and we was tired plus the eight hour time difference was begining to effect us, But because she promised and the restaurant seem to have good food and atmosphere we all agreed to wait another 10 minutes. 50 minutes went by! We all decided go inside the restaurant to see what was going on as we was freezing. The maitre d' advised us to go to the inside bar and she would give us a complimentary drink as we had waited so long. She then said I'd miss understood and no free drink would be given. I told her it was my friends birthday she was getting upset because she was cold and tired and hungry just wanted to eat. She said she would give her a cake for her birthday but I said we don't want one and would prefer to just sit down and eat and would like to have the drink which you promised. It was now late and getting busy so we just stayed as we was hungry and didn't want to wait at another restaurant. She advised she could not give us one free drink. We all order food and ate. I then spoke to Manager in private after our meal and just asked him why didn't they advised after the 20 minute wait for us to go somewhere else for food as they could not cater for us, this would've been better than being told the table will be ready in 10 minutes. I told him the maitre d' said we could have a free drink because we been waiting 50 minutes out side in the beer garden. He told me he did not care and he would not be giving any free drink and he would do absolutely nothing to rectify the fact we'd waited outside in the cold for 50min previously. The food and the waitress who served us was good, but the maitre d' shouldn't of made false promises and the manager is possibly one of the most rudest people I've ever met. My colleagues and friends all work for the travel industry, we eat in restaurants all over the world every week. We are all normally very well looked after and have great experience but never have we ever come across being treated like this in a restaurant. We all paid individually for our meal. Some on Revolut cards and some with cash. One of our party had pizza and Soft drink, she paid for hers on her Revolut card. The following night whilst we were flying back to the UK they took an extra $80 off her card. She discovered this when we landed into the UK. She couldn't believe someone would do this. She had even given the waitress a further $10 cash tip before leaving. Please be aware if you eat in this restaurant that they will clone your card. Always use cash to pay. And if you're ever un satisfied in that restaurant they will do nothing about it! It was a sad end to a great adventure in San Francisco. My final tip is for the manager. I seriously think that manager should get another job which is more suitable to him than being in hospitality or a customer service business. He lets that resultant down the most!

I went here to celebrate a special occasion. I made reservations for 6pm and looking forward to a great meal. This is my fourth time coming here and I was hoping for the best but got the worst. The table I reserved was right in front of the door where people coming in would bump the table. If you make a reservation one is expecting a good table. We decided to sit outside as it was a better table. We ordered the shrimp appetizer with feta cheese. You only get four small shrimp on a tiny plate of a few small tomatoes and a little cheese for $15. Oh and they served us stale bread, disgusting! We both ordered a pasta dish with a meat sauce. We both agreed that our pasta was over cooked and the sauce was bland and tasteless. I had better tomato sauce out of jar then this place. This place seems to prey on tourists who have never had real Italian food. Stay away and go to a local neighborhood restaurant in San Francisco if you want a good meal at a reasonable price. I will never be back!

Had a lovely meal here with a group of people. Everyone was happy with their food. Would recommend to families and adults. Very authentic Italian food.

Not one of our best meals in San Francisco. The service was very slow, and whilst the food was ok the portions are on the small side and generally not enough for people with a decent appetite. There is definitely a lot better Italians restaurants to choose from.

We went for an early dinner on our last night in San Francisco and we weren’t disappointed. We went With our 9 month old son and they were very accommodating to him! He throughly enjoyed his spaghetti!! Both my husband and I ordered pasta Dishes and the pasta and sauce were cooked to perfection in both. I would give them 5 stars however the muscles in my pasta were both over cooked and just not meaty enough. It meant that there was actually no muscle to eat. However the clams were cooked to perfection and were big and juicy!!! The Garlic bread with cheese was to die for!!

We had a wonderful experience at Piazza Pellegrini! We actually went twice while on vacation. There was no tip for the bread and water as someone indicated below (we were watching for it). Waitstaff was helpful and attentive, atmosphere was perfect. Spaghetti and meatballs were reported as “the best ever”. Others in our group ordered lasagna, chicken pasta with pesto, and other dishes. All were happy with the results.

Good value, good service (at least in late afternoon). The engaging Italian-accented waiter immediately seated our party of three and offered the regular menu together with a handwritten "Special Menu". We were brought an ample supply of fresh bread accompanied by a highly addictive olive oil and sweet Balsamic Vinegar dipping oil to enjoy while making our early dinner selections. We elected to share an order of the homemade gnocchi with the Gorgonzola cream sauce. Very yummy! Then moved into a Caesar Salad, also split. Excellent balance of oil, vinegar, garlic, anchovies, Parmesan Cheese on the chilled bite-sized romaine lettuce. We wanted a good red wine with the mains and our waiter promptly delivered a nice fairly-priced Pinot Noir. Our entrees were served in the perfect timing (several minutes after completing our salads). My veal piccata appeared as a well-designed picture of what one would expect to receive in the best Italian restaurant in Rome! The taste of the veal including the consistency of the lemon, butter caper, demiglace sauce made me want to place an order to go for later in the evening as a midnight snack! (Just kidding) but it was in the top five category of best veal piccata dishes I had ever experienced. Garlic bread (ordered by Wife) was cheesy and garlicky (excellent). I opted not to partake more than a sample so as not to detract from my stellar serving of veal. Daughter's very generous capellini pasta dish was cooked al dente, with a rich flavorful tomato sauce. She opted to take some home and said that the the leftovers would be the next two day's dinners for her at her apartment. Wife opted for a chicken parmigiana. She commented that she didn't expect the chicken to come "bone-in", felt that there was too much oil as well as too much tomato sauce in the dish. However, she didn't send it back, and ate most of it. Other than the comments on the last dish all of us would return. I will look forward to the veal ossobuco.

We sat outside and it was a little cramped by the kitchen exhaust fan, but the food was good from pizza to prawn pasta to gnocchi.

After cycling the Golden Gate Bridge my friends and I were eager to sit down to a hearty meal which is exactly what we got. Simple and well cooked Italian food that none of us could fault. We also appreciated the bread, oil and vinegar while we waited. Above all the service was outstanding - friendly, chatty but not intrusive, and attentive to all 7 of us. Highlight meal from our trip!!
Just on outskirts of North Beach - nice peaceful Italian restaurant with outdoor seating
We often go to Taverna Pellegrini in Orinda, CA. We stopped at their sister restaurant Piazza Pellegrini in North Beach recently to see how it compared. Their location is right outside of the main area of North Beach closer to Fisherman's Wharf. Nice quieter location than in the heart of North Beach - it felt very relaxing. It was cold outside so we sat at the window table inside the restaurant. They have heaters and some nice tables outside which would be a great place to just chill with wine and food on a warm day. It was a very homey atmosphere inside - service was a bit slow at first but once the server came by, it was all fine. I They served us lots of bread and we just ordered soup and salad and a half carafe of house wine since we were making multiple stops. The soup was excellent as was the salad. I look forward to returning when the weather is nicer, siting outside and getting some nice pasta - the selections looked great as I passed by the other tables. Our server was really nice and very attentive!
