Wonderful Restaurant

By Karen W |

My husband and I went to Piccoli for our 10th Anniversary, we were in town from Charleston,SC. It was last minute but we only had a 20 minute wait. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was amazing! My husband had the fettuccine and I had the ravioli caprini. The service was excellent and we would recommend to anyone!

Wonderful place

This restaurant is a delight with excellent food and great service. Celebrating my son's 40th birthday, three of us enjoyed every dish we ordered. We would return!!!!!

Made the right choice!!!!

By Thefoodcritic5 |

My friends and I were visiting my son who was staying in Manhattan. He suggested we have dinner in Brooklyn, he enjoyed the charm of the neighborhoods. He recommended Piccoli Trattoria. He made the right choice for us. Their were five of us and we all had a great experience. Without reservation we were not able to be seated indoors. We were seated outside which was a pleasant experience. Our waitress was outstanding making us feel very welcomed. The food was very good, I had the short ribs over homemade pasta very good. Appetizers were terrific. I noticed a lot of restaurants on our way there with empty seats. Piccoli Trattoria was hopping. That tells you something when your in Brooklyn from Connecticut.

Terrific Italian in Park Slope

By Manny1950 |

What a gem! Family dinner. All food homemade. Bread, pasta, desserts. Rigatoni bolognese terrific. Pappardelle likewise. Risotto delicious. Price very reasonable. Service great. Wine selection good. I would go there every week if I lived nearby. Manny

Not your typical Italian restaurant...

By Andrea P |

Great neighborhood restaurant, just around the corner from where we live. We eat there several times a month and it never disappoints. It is often packed, even on a weekday night. Reservations strongly suggested.

Excellent Food, Charming Atmosphere!

By SuzyQu15 |

I have been to Piccoli for both dinner and Sunday brunch and each time I left looking forward to returning. At dinner we shared appetizers and had homemade pasta entrees and wine. At brunch, we had French toast served with fresh bananas, strawberries and mascarpone whipped cream, best I’ve ever had! The service is excellent, prices are reasonable and the intimate ambiance charming. Parking is on the street. Highly recommend!

great food

By M P |

We had googled all of the options for dining in the Park Slope area and found this one to be at the top of several lists. We made a reservation ahead of time which turned out to be a very good idea since they were turning casual diners from the neighborhood away as we approached the door. It is important to know that you are going for the food, not the ambiance as this restaurant is very, very tight on space. All 4 of us enjoyed what we ordered from entirely different parts of the menu and it was all excellent.

Piccoli A Sure Winner!

By calasso1 |

Went to Piccoli for 70th birthday. Everything(service, food, choice of menu) excellent. Went with wife and daughter . Seated immediately with reservation. Ate outside. Very comfortable. Cannot find any faults with this restaurant!

Really delicious real Italian

By DJTrav |

This is a favorite of mine from when I lived in the Slope. Since it opened, it has been consistently delicious and authentic. It's where I first tried squid ink pasta (and loved it) and Pecorino wine (and also loved it) and olive oil cake (and you guessed it, loved it). It's the rare restaurant where I feel like you can't go wrong in ordering, because everything truly is good. Like, lick-your-plate good...if, you know, you weren't in a charming candlelit setting with a lovely, Italian-accented owner checking in with you and on-top-of-it waitstaff, and all that.

Delicious Italian Restaurant

By MJ710 |

Four of us shared dinner at this small cozy trattoria. We had 7pm reservations and we were seated immediately. The bar only serves wine (possibly beer also) and no other alcohol. Seating is very close to the other tables but that helped give the restaurant that cozy friendly feel. The restaurant is casual (no tablecloths, wooden chairs) and seems to serve late dinners also, as people were still arriving when we were leaving after 9pm. Pricing is fair and in line with other restaurants. Our server did not rush us at all and we got to enjoy our wine and appetizers (calamari, butternut squash soup, etc.). The entrees were perfect (fettucini with mushrooms, ravioli, osso buco, black linguini) and nice portions. For dessert we shared tiramisu and tartufo. Again, wonderful. Parking in the area is difficult and you definitely need reservations as the restaurant is small. We would definitely return.

Great Italian food

By bigaps |

We went here for dinner because of the great reviews and were not disappointed. An excellent menu, wine list, in a cozy setting. The service is terrific and prices reasonable for the high quality of food. The osso buco was as good if not better than any I've had in Italy or anywhere else.

Delightful brunch restaurant

By Dolores P |

Visited Piccoli for Sunday brunch. Food and service was excellent. Prices very reasonable. Varied choices with option to purchase unlimited breakfast cocktails for $16 for 90 minutes ($27.95 fixed price - entree plus cocktails) . Restaurant a bit dark and tables very close together. Location is great for walkers but parking nearby is iffy. Would recommend.

Delicious food in a casual setting

By fba5 |

This restaurant offers mostly homemade pasta. They happily substituted homemade fettuccine in the pasta entree I'd ordered which didn't come with their homemade pasta. They have buffalo mozzarella delivered weekly from Napoli. have organic mixed greens, and use free-range, hormone and antibiotic-free chicken. Their website states "pasta, bread, & desserts made fresh daily." Also "whole-wheat fettuccine available upon request." They have an interesting menu. For example, we split an order of one of their salads: "shaved brussels sprouts, marcona almonds, pecorino Romano & citrus dressing." Considering the quality of their food, their entrees are very reasonable (in the teens). The only dish I wasn't crazy about was the Tiramisu Della Nonna. It wasn't my favorite interpretation of this dessert but then again, Italian restaurants all seem to use different recipes for their tiramisu. The venue is quite casual (most of the diners on a Sat. night wore jeans) & noisy. It's small with beat-up wooden tables crammed closely together; there are white cloth napkins though. So, you don't go there for a romantic dinner. You do go there for their fabulous food!!

The best Italian food we have had in NY

By JohnandMarylou |

On our trips to NY to visit our daughter, we tend to be disappointed by our restaurant experiences in Manhattan, but are never disappointed by Piccoli, the small Trattoria a couple blocks from her apartment in Brooklyn. The grilled calamari and arugula appetizer was delicious, the bread and tomato puree dip was great and all of our meals also wonderful. The food is very flavorful, a little unique, and always reminds us of eating in a restaurant in Italy. If you are visiting NY and feel like Italian food, skip Manhattan and Little Italy and take a subway ride to South Slope Brooklyn and eat at Piccoli. They also have a great brunch.

So glad I found this place on trip advisor

By kc_Greenville |

I had the butternut squash ravioli and the roasted Brussel sprouts with pancetta. Cannot describe how mindblowingly good it was. We sat outside, and I am glad we went before 7, since by 8 there was a waitlist. Others had the hanger steal which they described as tender and juicy, and one had the black linguine with crabs meat. I plan on going back to try one of the risottos. Total bill was more than reasonable for 4 people. I heartily recommend this restaurant

Simply the Best

Flew in to NYC last night from the Caribbean. Flight home tonight . Was craving Real Italian Food and was in Brooklyn today . Googled the Best Italian Food in Brooklyn, it said Piccoli Trattoria on 6th Ave. they were so Right , Food was Over the Top and so Authentic. Vas the Waiter , Host , and Bartender was Worth the Visit . So Polite, Such a Gentleman and Such a Host . We were treated like Kings and Queens I travel the world and not often are we treated with such Professionalism and Grace . A Very Good Experience !!!

Not Worth a Second Visit

By Ed T |

It was a rainy Sunday night but this place was packed. Relatively small place with what initially looked like long communal tables but were separated by maybe a inch between tables which were very small. Add a bottle of wine, a bread basket and two side plates, the table is full. BTW, a family friendly place, quite a few children present. For appetizers we opted for the carpaccio and the calamari. The carpaccio was a relatively small portion that was covered in an arugula salad, actually one of the best arugula salads I've had in recent memory. However, the phrase "Where's the beef?" would apply here. The calamari was a large portion served with a nice mix of greens but was a bit chewy. Bread served was interesting, warm, light and crispy but the dipping sauce desperately needed salt. Entrees were a bit disappointing, Amatra (read duck breast) was overcooked and tough. Wasn't asked how one would like it cooked and medium rare could have saved the dish. The accompanying corn crema and arugula/celeriac salad were very well done but the main event was sadly overcooked and the arugula was a repeat from the appetizer. The roasted butternut squash, mascapone and sage ravioli was OK but just one note. A white plate with white ravioli and a white sauce, pretty uninteresting. Portions except for the carpaccio were on the large size and fairly priced, hence in my opinion the crowd. Wine list is serviceable, a reasonable selection at low to moderate prices. Return visit, don't think so.

Neighborhood Gem - Excellent Italian Restaurant

By wprensky |

Piccoli is going to be jammed - that's your first hint. If you didn't make a reservation then it's going to be difficult. But well worth the wait for the excellent food and wine and desserts. The food is fresh, well prepared and uniformly delicious. This is a small neighborhood restaurant - and very popular and well deserving of its popularity. Enjoy.

Dinner for 4

By Jodi B |

Outstanding food! Wonderful service with a personal Italian touch. Polenta appetizer was wonderful and their homemade pasta delicious. Olive oil cake for dessert was great. Will definitely go back when visiting our niece.

Great food and atmosphere

By skittlesip |

We came here by coincidence because it was close to our rental apartment. Turned out to be a great coincidence! What a cozy place, friendly service and delicious food. No pizza which says a lot. Had great pasta and risotto. Would go back anytime.

Wonderful Neighborhood Restaurant

By lwithaz |

While visiting our son in Park Slope during President's weekend we ended our stay with dinner at Piccoli's. What a great meal. My mushroom fettucine was perfect, creamy not cloying, with lots of mushrooms. The grilled calamari starter is truly delicious, don't miss it! Five of us shared two tortoni desserts, whatever you do save some room for this fabulous chocolate dessert. We are returning to the city in April and we will return to this restaurant!

Cute Place with Great Food

By Artnletters |

This small restaurant serves wonderful Italian food. The four people in our party shared dishes and everyone found the food to be overall delicious! This is absolutely a great choice for pasta — hearty and homemade!

Excellent food in a neighborhood atmosphere

By Bob-PHX |

This is a nice restaurant in a nice neighborhood in Brooklyn. That local neighborhood feeling makes for a nice atmosphere in this restaurant with not too many tables. There is some outdoor seating along the sidewalk as well. For appetizers, we had the Polenta and the Carpaccio. I had the Fettuccine with a duck ragu. Others in our party had a Rigatoni dish with a Bolognese sauce and another dish with a short fib ragu. All dishes were truly excellent. The pastas were all homemade. In the end, the meal was a very enjoyable given the food and the chance to get a feel for a nice Brooklyn neighborhood .

Best ravioli I’ve ever had

By The Dutch Nomad |

The atmosphere of this place is extremely welcoming. If the weather is nice, I’d recommend sitting outside and enjoying the neighborhood vibes. The food is also incredible! The ravioli di caprino is the best ravioli I’ve had so far and I’m definitely coming back so I can have more.

Take-out Portion Size

By harry s |

We have been ordering take-out from Piccoli for a long time and are really disappointed to report that portion size seems to be 'shrinking'. Can't say why, but the next time we dine-in, will ask, but really... should there be any difference in the portion size from what is ordered when one dine's in, as opposed to take-out?

Great Trattoria!

By westiedog1 |

This little Italian style trattoria on the outskirts of Park Slope has wonderful and imaginative food. The salads are especially creative and delicious. It's a bit cramped inside but worth the squeeze. In the warmer months, there are sidewalk tables. Only wine and beer, but the wine selection, especially the reds from Italy are consistently excellent. The risottos are fanastic, especially the seafood risotto. My favorite dish is the mushroom linguine in a creamy cheese sauce. It's to die for.

best kept secret in Park Slope

By Lewis B |

4 of us had different dishes and they were all excellent...waiter and service were also excellent...can't say enough about the great food.

Best pasta outside of Italy!

By bklynguy |

Delicious home made pasta, daily specials, reasonable prices on food and wine make this one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Park Slope. Friendly staff, sidewalk dining, and they never rush you. We haven't tried their desserts - though they look amazing. We walk 30 minutes to eat here!

I was hoping it would be good and it was better than that,

By WalkTheDoggy |

It's always a crap shoot going to an internet 4+ star restaurant these days, not when even Subways are given 4 stars. In fact, some of the worst meals I've had in NYC had 4+ star reviews on that Y site. That's why it's reassuring to find a restaurant that actually deserves its internet reputation. In Piccoli's case I'd add "... and then some". Four of us tried Piccoli Trattoria tonight and it was everything we hoped it would be. I usually like to offer a little bit of criticism in my positive reviews if only so as not to sound like a ringer or the owner's brother. But I really can't in this case. Everything was terrific: the food, the wine selection, the service, the unpretentious bistro decor. After reading a few of the reviews here I was expecting at least an overwhelmed dining room staff with it being Saturday night and all but they knocked it out of the park there too, If anything, the service was a tad over-attentive... and there it is, my requisite little piece of grousing. The pastas were fresh and original and the meats were terrific and substantially sized. The sides were large and very tasty (I loved the grilled brussels sprouts and calamari salad). The desserts were scrumptious. You will not walk out of this place hungry, which is more than can be said about a lot of the new restaurants hitting this neighborhood. We will be back, and soon.

Warm, Welcoming & Wonderful

By laceandwit |

So, for Christmas I asked my Brooklyn son for some gift cards to the 4000+ restaurants in Brooklyn for us to sample when we visit him. He chose this restaurant as it is a 15-minute walk from his home and was highly rated on Trip Advisor. We enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is a corner restaurant with lots of windows and charming. We were warmly greeted and served. We called ahead for a reservation and went early at 5:45 to beat the crowd. It was quite full by the time we arrived. I ordered the ravioli with squash inside, my husband ordered black spaghetti with sea food and my son order the pork Osso Bucco. Everything was very tasty. Then we ordered the tiramusu which they make. It was so light and creamy, melt-in-your-mouth. Wow! If I lived close by would get it for take out for special occasions like New Years. It was that special. The staff worked as a great team, and seemed to enjoy their work and each other and the customers. I worked in a restaurant for 7 years so can pick up on the vibe and dynamics of the staff. We will definitely return again. My son wants to bring his fiance next time. A gift certificate to this restaurant is a great gift.

Nona cooked like this!

By Andrew G |

I enjoyed a simple Nona Bolognese sauce that was the best I've tasted in my visits to NYC. A very relaxed atmosphere, good service and good chianti that was amply poured made this meal deliciouso!

Absolutely amazing

By Kathy W |

Carpaccio and Polenta to start. Paparadelli with short rib for main. Everything was delicious. The home made pasta melted in my mouth and the sauce with short rib was perfect. A must try!

Neighborhood bistro, warm and relaxing

By Steven H |

Eat inside or out, and you'll be surrounded by local couples enjoying quiet well prepared meal. Feels like the neighborhood hangout to unwind and eat. A large list of unusual pasta dishes on the menu and a small selection of fish and meat mains. Not a fancy place, just a good place to meet and eat.

Amazing. Exceeded All Expectations.

By Nick W |

I took my girlfriend to Piccoli Trattoria for her birthday. I saw the reviews were good, so I figured it was be a safe choice. We were both blown away! We started with a great bottle of wine that was recommended by our waiter Vas. Vas was super friendly and gave us amazing recommendations and service while the place was slammed with business. Then we got the caramelized Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer. They were absolutely phenomenal. For dinner, we both got raviolis. She got the Ravioli Di Calabrese. I got the Ravioli Di Zucca. Both were amazing, but the Di Zucca were the best raviolis I ever had. The mascarpone and sage sauce was utterly ridiculous. I can't stop thinking about how good it was. We capped it off with the panna cotta for dessert which ended the meal and experience on a perfect note. Will definitely be back for more!

Delicious food, charming setting

By Sharon S |

We loved the food and atmosphere at Piccoli. Took our teenage granddaughter and she loved it too. Wonderful pasta - I recommend the fettuccine with wild mushrooms - and reasonable prices. We had no problem getting an inside table; the outdoor tables would have been lovely but they were full. Charming place, very nice service, great food. Highly recommended.

Great food and service

By Barbara K |

First time at this restaurant. Went with my husband, son and his girlfriend. She and I split two salads - Brussel sprouts and butternut squash/fresh mozzarella. Both were great. I had rigatoni ala Norma. Excellent. We all enjoyed our pasta dishes. We ate outside on a beautiful evening. They didn't rush us at all. Really great wait staff. And very reasonable prices.

Very good italian food

A Good Neighborhood Restaurant

By Holly137 |

I good inexpensive restaurant for Italian food in the South Slope of Brooklyn. I recommend the pappardelle with short rib meat that is off the bone. Pasta is usually good. Nice salads. And make room for the olive cake.

Fine Italian in Brooklyn

By pattijean73 |

Intimate Italian Trattoria in Park Slope. Visited with a party of 6 on a Monday night. Had reservations at 7. It was not crowded at that time. Wait staff was attentive without being annoying. Received our entrees in a short time after ordering. Perfect sized portions that you are comfortably able to finish. I had the parpardelle with short rib ragu. Delicious. The food arrived at the table and was served hot. Everyone in our party ate their entire entree. Room enough left for tiramisu. My only complaint about the dessert is that the portion was huge. Good for sharing. The wine list was not vast, but had enough Italian reds to suit anyone's taste.

Top 5 Italian Places.....and I've been to Italy many times

By KCinLG |

OMG, can you say AMAZING meal at AMAZING prices? When I did my research for an Italian restaurant, let me tell you, about 500 came up in my search. Ok, I’m exaggerating, but no joke, there were SOOOOO many. How is a girl to decide? After reading reviews and looking at photos, I went with this one bc it looked authentic, and it sure was. The food was soooo good. I mean we ordered anything and everything. The four us shared two apps, ordered four individual entrees (this place doesn’t mess around with portions), we ordered three desserts and a bottle of wine. The bill was just barely $200. I don’t think they have cocktails but that’s ok, you gotta have your vino with the pasta. Service was top notch. I think it was the owner that was serving us, and he did not miss a beat. We were the last people there and never felt rushed at all. This one of the very few restaurants that we took the subway for. I originally wanted to try to walk to all our destinations (we were staying in Williamsburg) but this restaurant was well worth the trek. I will be back!

Melt in your mouth gnocci

By Elissa J |

1 block from trendy 7th avenue restaurants - Piccoli beats them all. Argentine owners are from Buenos Aires where the Italians perfected their pasta. The gnocci melts in your mouth. Interesting Wine list complements great food. Open for dinner from 4:30 pm. The outside tables are tucked off the sidewalk on a quiet street for comfortable dining. Piccoli is a notch better than the real good Italian restaurant, Baciccia, one block south on 7th Avenue. Try them both.

It was so good!

By Adrienne S |

3 people out of four in our party thaught that it was great. The squid ink risotto was out of this world. The best so far. The fourth one liked it too but the other were extatic.

Enjoyed our visit

By RD1952 |

We had out of town party of 6 on Saturday night and found the service good and food very good. The restaurant was not loud and could talk easily was all 6 in group. Prices for the quality and service reasonable. We would return again if in area.

Excellent food!

By TonyMoustache |

Small restaurant, family style seating great food. I had a mozzarella appetizer that I have never seen. It was a polenta and mushrooms mixture served warm with chunks of fresh mozzarella around the perimeter of the dish. I had the special lamb osso bucco and it was amazing. The tiramisu and lemon panna cotta were both big hits. The seafood risotto tasted like paella and was full of calamari, shrimp and scallops. The wine list is very agreeable but there is no full bar. The staff was very attentive and professional. I would definitely return.

Good kitchen & service

By jnd69 |

The starter as well as the main dish were very good. The waitress was pretty friendly. The cost was in the average for such restaurant in this area.

My favorite Italian restaurant in the whole city

By subwayalice |

I've been eating at this trattoria since it opened and never had a bad meal. It's perfect for a relaxed meal with a good friend or a sweet dinner date. It's not an overly romantic spot, but it has a warm neighborhood vibe that is lovely. But most important: the food. Some favorites: the pappardelle with short rib raku, the brussel sprout salad, the risottos. Good place to bring a friend who's gluten free as they are very accommodating,

A perfect evening: wonderful food in a quaint setting

By orna s |

I went for dinner with my mom and my son, and it was such a lovely experience in every way. The restaurant is quaint and comfortable. Lovely old tin ceiling. Small intimate tables. Very pleasant. The wine list was great. I asked for a recommendation (glass of white) and had a delicious and unusual Sicilian Sauvingon Blanc. The table bread rolls are scrumptious. We had 2 appetizers. The shaved brussel sprout salad with pear and ricotta salata was very light and unassuming. Simple and good. The polenta appetizer was outstanding. It tasted grilled, and had a mushroom topping. A bit heartier than the salad, but balanced and delicious. For main meals we had the steak with chimichurri and roasted potatoes. I liked it, but it was not as big a hit as the fish we ordered. We had a trout special, and the striped bass filet. Both delicate and delicious. Served with vegetables. I particularly liked the butternut squash and spinach. We shared a tortino for dessert. My son wanted another. He said it was the best chocolate cake he's had. I thought it was OK, but I don't have a sweet tooth. All in all, a great evening for food, service and ambiance.

Excellent Food and Service. Very loud

By youhavetolovechicago |

The service is excellent. The menu is varied and has many vegetarian and pescaterian options. The butternut squash ravioli was perfectly cooked and I tried the sweet and sour cauliflower which had a nice char. The only strong negative is the inside noise which is deafening. The music is extremely loud which causes the patrons talk louder to hear each other. We opted to sit outside instead. This is not a hole in the wall establishment but not conducive to an after hours business meal or nice date atmosphere.

Great Food in South Park Slope!

By JoyKel |

Visiting our family in Brooklyn, we went to Piccoli for dinner. Food was fabulous from beginning to end. Apps consisted of bruschetta, arugula salad with roasted corn and sweet pepper and prosciutto and pears. Dinner choices were tagliatelle with short ribs, fettuccini with duck ragu, cauliflower and Parmesan risotto and a gnocchi special with Gorgonzola cheese. The pasta was all homemade! All were fabulous and there were not any leftovers to even take home!! Dessert was an olive cake to die for and a chocolate caramel dessert that was sinful!! Will definitely be back!

Palatable menu

By nojabrin |

..it was very quite early dinner on Saturday for two. Every choice we made in menu had original taste and singly tasty. Great choice of wines should satisfy wine lovers. It has been second time we visited and we will be back

Neighborhood Traditional Italian Food

By kengbmore |

Needed a place to grab dinner before an evening party in Park Slope. Took a chance based on one positive review. We were in the mood for Italian food...this place popped up so we gave it a chance. The food, atmosphere and service was 5 star. Really great. The Papardelle with short rib ragu was outstanding. We had 4 other dishes and each was equally impressive. A must visit. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent Italian cuisine, I especially liked their Special of the Day.

By Joseph K |

We had their two Special of the Day- Grilled Salmon and Pan Sealed Chicken. Both dishes are excellent. The salmon was fresh and very tasty. We also had their special of the day dessert- pumpkin cheesecake with caramel sauce on top. Just the perfect end for our big meal.

Tasty Italian dinner

By HarveyMazel |

Thursday night dinner at Piccoli Trattoria was a scrumptious treat. Our party of six arrived close to 8pm (without a reservation). We had a short wait until a table for six opened. We didn't order any appetizers as we had a busy agenda later in the evening. We got down to business and ordered our entrees. Three of us ordered (including me) the Bolognese della Nonna (Rigatoni with Grandma's Bolognese sauce). Simply delicious. My son ordered the Gnocchi of the day. My wife had their fantastic Ravioli di Zucca (Homemade butternut squash ravioli with mascarpone cheese & sage). But my personal favorite was the entree ordered by my daughter's boyfriend. The Spaghetti Calabrese was the best dish served hands down. But beware...if you don't like spicy...stay away. This entree consists of Homemade black spaghetti with shrimp, chorizo and spicy Calabrian tomato sauce. When I return, this is the plate I'm ordering. Fabulous! Service was good...our waitress was attentive...we never waited long for drink refills or anything needed. A few of us ordered their "special dessert", a creme brûlée cheesecake with roasted strawberries. It was tasty....but my fondest memory of the dinner was my taste of their fabulous Spaghetti Calabrese. The prices were very reasonable too...all their entrees priced under $20. If I make it back to Brooklyn's Park Slope, I'll definitely return to Piccoli Trattoria!

Excellent Neighborhood Trattoria

By corptool |

Delicious food and great service at this neighborhood trattoria. I enjoyed a Seafood Risotto and also tasted the Ziti Bolognese. Both were delicious and everything served promptly and hot. We also shared some appetizers. I recommend the Polenta with Wild Mushrooms - excellent. They have a full wine list as well. Our server was professional and friendly and got everyone's order right the first time. I recommend this restaurant highly.

Excellent choice for a nice quien evening

Food is absolutely fantastic, the staff is super attentive and nice, and the ambiance is laid back and romantic. Kudos!

perfect neighborhood restaurant

By 123cathy123 |

Eight of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The food was excellent, great service and reasonable prices. The scallop special was delicious as were the other meals - pasta with clams, pasta with crab meat ravioli, stuffed with butter nut squash, and baked fish (I forget what it was). The sauces were wonderful. We sat outside and had a wonderful time. Wine and beer - no cocktails.

Italian Treat

By Erin C |

Absolutely loved this spot. Although small, the food was divine and the service was fantastic. We had every course offered and couldn't help ourselves to having another glass of prosecco to finish the night. Get the grilled octopus if it's a special!

Great Italian meal

By TDakin |

A short walk from our hotel, we tried this spot our last night in Brooklyn. Fabulous meal from appetizer to desserts and really friendly service to boot. We scored a table outside and relaxed in the summer night while people watching and enjoying our food. I can see why others love this restaurant so much, highly recommended.

Nice spot for brunch

By Alison K |

We had a nice brunch here. It was in our neighbourhood, and enjoyable. The service was OK. Would come again if passing.

Quality Neighborhood Italian Restaurant

By DancingCarl |

My wife and I went there for our anniversary. Almost everything was fabulous. We shared the shaved brussel sprouts salad and polenta with wild mushrooms to start. The salad was tasty, the polenta really wonderful, with an assortment of mushrooms including morels. My past with crab meet and hot peppers was the best such dish I have had anywhere, with a nice bite and a generous portion of crab meat. We shared a chocolate desert which we both thought was the highlight of the meal. The only (slight) problem was that my wife's trout, well prepared otherwise, was somewhat overcooked. I would happily return. The pasta are all house made and the process very reasonable for what you get.

I hesitate to tell you about this find

By Margaret H |

I'd like to keep this excellent restaurant a secret as it is small and intimate and very much a neighborhood gem. It is so versatile-works for brunch, a casual dinner during the week (including take out), or a dinner with relatives for a special reunion. I go to brunch here on Saturday or Sunday and may I suggest the salmon benedict. When out of town epicurean friends visit, I show off the neighborhood's culinary sophistication by taking them here. You will never have a better bolognese sauce. The duck ragu and the short rib ragu are just so fresh and consistently prepared. The fettuccini with wild mushrooms in the light cream sauce makes a great dish for take out along with any of the delicate risotto dishes. The grilled calamari appetizer and carpaccio are delicious. The olive oil cake and panacotta are just as good as it gets. The service makes you feel as if you have been invited into someone's house in a quaint town in Tuscany. The dining room is cozy, simple, and esthetically pleasing. Very reasonable prices for the high quality of food. What makes it so great is that it is just the best overall restaurant I've been to in Brooklyn. Not at all pretentious and yet refined tastes.

Loved it!

By Louise J |

Ended a weekend visit with family here, who live a few blocks away and thought we would enjoy it! Excellent pick! From appetizers to the main meal, everything was outstanding. Grilled calamari was delicious; we shared a special arugula salad with strawberries, also great. Most people at our table had the pasta with Bolognese sauce, I had the pasta with duck ragu, daughter had the eggplant. Every plate was consumed with gusto! Great little neighborhood trattoria!

What an experience

By Yoram L |

It is a small restaurant but one of the best Italian restaurants so far. We tried four different pastas and the one which is mostly recommended is Butter Squash Ravioli. All other pastas were very tasty too. As for the wine we tried the Syrah which is a Shiraz wine and it was very good. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food and excellent service!

By Gail L |

Everything we ordered at this restaurant was amazing, especially the Seafood Risotto and the Spaghetti al Granchio. The service - our waiter happened to be the owner - was top tier and helped provide us with a delicious food experience. The food was orgasmic to my taste buds. Recommend to any person with a beating heart. Just make sure to make a reservation, since they're usually packed.

Great neighbourhood spot

By Sally C |

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and informative service and good value. Escaped the heat in the lovely AC restaurant but would normally have snapped up the outside tables on their lovely corner spot amongst the brownstones. Welcoming to kids although there was no specific menu ie. had to pay for a full price entree. Well worth a visit!

Quiet handsome restaurant with great pasta dishes

Situated on a quiet corner in Park Slope. Owners are former restauranteurs from Buenos Aires where pasta is as good as Italy. Ciccio's homemade pasta dishes are superb. Wait staff very nice. Might be best italian restaurant in Park Slope

Not sure why this place is high on the list of restaurants in Brooklyn. Visited here on Saturday night and was fairly underwhelmed with the food. For appetizers, we ordered the polenta with mushrooms, which was burned on the bottom so the whole flavor of the dish had a burnt taste to it; and ordered the mozzarella with mushrooms and butternut squash which was actually the only good dish we had. For main course we ordered the rigatoni nonna and the spaghetti with clams; neither dish had much flavor to it. Decided to cut out at that point and skip dessert.

Nice choice in Park Slope

My review is based on a single visit and while I enjoyed my dinner here and would return, I can't say that was phenomenal or particularly exciting. I had higher expectations based on the reviews I'd read. The food was good, but none of it struck me as exceptional. We had an appetizer, risotto, pasta and dessert. The risotto ai frutti di mare was the best of the bunch, while the spaghetti al granchio lacked flavor and needed a little more substance. The bruschette were over-grilled and that flavor detracted from the toppings (I also thought the gorgonzola wasn't the best choice). The tiramisu was a nice, classic choice. The wines were OK, the space relatively unremarkable. The waitress was friendly and accommodating. This is definitely a nice neighborhood spot, worth visiting if you're in the area, but I wouldn't deem it "trip-worthy."

Look, I'm Italian from Italy and I Come here often because this is authentic. When my family from Bari comes to NY intake them here they love it. When they have Osso Buco on the menu, please get it, no regrets!!

One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had

We went with a party of 4. We didn't have a reservation, but miraculously, we were able to be seated! I have to rave about the squid pasta (can't remember the name) with the blue crab. It was absolutely one of the best past dishes I have ever had!! I had to keep myself from picking up my plate and licking it!! LOL!! (No, I would never do that!) The service was great, they didn't rush us although it was a busy Saturday night, and I can't wait to go back!!! 5 STARS from me!!

Charming Place

I was at a friend's house and asked for a recommendation for a nearby Italian restaurant. This was it. we all had the trout special. I loved every bite. Everything was delicious. The salad, the red wine they suggested, the desert, and the Cappuccino. Very attentive and pleasant service. Jeremy T
