Delicious

By Renee S |

Great casual spot with paleo friendly food. I’m not paleo, but I loved the menu, full of fresh veggies and interesting options. My fish tacos were tender and complemented with cabbage and lightly pickled onions. My friend’s kale Cobb featured tender kale and chicken. A little pricey, but that’s like because of the high quality ingredients.

Gluten free gem

By metalmaiden |

Great vibe. Happy staff. Amazing food! It’s a celiac friendly gluten-free that caters to most everyone whether paleo, vegan or some other special diet. And their are cocktails, beer and ciders too!

Absolutely delicious

By bschrader45 |

We went there with our daughter and her husband. We had a reservation, recommended) and were seated right away. They are very knowledgable about G/F needs and flexible as to altering a dish to suit the need. I had the VERY best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. Definitely took home what I couldn't finish.

Excellent breakfast

By SharonSchembri |

Excellent quality breakfast and easy parking. Seamless and friendly service. We sat on the patio and that is the photo attached. Was lovely. Very busy and popular but seated nearly immediately. Great menu options. Will be back. And Ten Thousand Villages is right next door.

Fresh, healthy, allergy aware!

By Elephantastic |

I absolutely love Picnik. The food is always super fresh, healthy, and delicious. I placed an order for pick up and for each item I was able to choose which allergies I have. Then they called me to check in about cross contamination for my egg allergy because the salmon is fried in a fryer that also has items with tempura egg batter in it. When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff was so friendly and kind. I've been here a handful of times, but this was the best service I've experienced. And every dish was incredible. Can't wait to order again!

Wonderful Gluten-free Menu

By gpbvkb |

Had breakfast with family on Sunday. Sat on the enclosed patio with heaters around us. Wonderful gluten-free pancakes! Sausages were delicious too! Son and girlfriend had the SW Hash, which we need to try the next time we're in the area.

Overpriced

By fww2 |

The food was very good and the service was excellent, but EVERYTHING was overpriced. My wife had wine and soup (jalapeño + beef); I had the beef stew and bread; we had chicken tenders for a starter. Everything was good - the soup was delicious and hot (spicy and temperature) and the beef stew was also very good (meaty and good flavor), but everything was too expensive. The soup and beef stew came with 4 small pieces of toast (which was the house-made bread toasted) so we ordered more bread (I do not mind paying extra for the toast - but for 2.50 (apiece) one would expect something more than 2 small pieces of bread (apiece), even if it is house-made bread). I had the blueberry tea - which was the only thing I had a problem with (it was way too weak) and switched too eggnog (at dq. 7.00 a cup). The service was excellent as was the food - but it was all too expensive for mid-priced dining (70,00 + for 2glasses of wine, a glass of blueberry tea, a cup of eggnog, 2 extra orders of toast, a small bowl of soup, and a small bowl of stew - more like fine dining at that price). All in all - not a pleasant experience -despite the great food and service

Healthy "Comfort" food. Delicious!

By doctorjay208 |

My dining companion, a self-admitted "coffee snob", started off with the Butter Coffee which she thoroughly enjoyed. We then split the shareable Fried Brussel Sprouts which we did not want to share. The sprouts were crispy and tender, the pork belly added the right saltiness, all tossed in a light vinaigrette. Outstanding! We followed that with Heavenly Hash which had a wonderful mix of sausage, sweet potatoes, spinach, and apple. Our server was very helpful with suggestions. This was our first, not our last, trip to Picnik!

Teeny tiny portions but good...

By BarefootBuddies |

Our server was very sweet. Stellar service. Food portions super small - the place was expensive. But , I liked it. Our poached eggs were not as hot as they should have been. Muffins tiny but tasty.

Nice place with well sourced food. Worth seeking out

By marcm50 |

We travelled a few miles as had read about Picnik and it was worth it as my family wanted a well sourced vegetarian breakfast. Cassava pancakes were great and so was the bacon that went with it although at $3 for a side, the portion was miserly (needed a magnifying glass to see it). The staff are lovely and the food felt like it was prepared by people who cared.

Paleo Style Food In Contemporary Atmosphere

By Terry E |

Our first time in to this new restaurant, we were impressed with the décor and the knowledge of the wait staff. We have dietary limitations, so having lots of gluten-free dishes was good for us. We were there at breakfast, and both of us enjoyed our dish, and our conversations with the waitress that served us. She was very knowledgeable of the ingredients in the dishes.

So many infusions!

By Maria 🪷 |

We enjoyed Picnik enough to have it twice during our trip. I loved that there were many infusion options, such as Moon Juice dusts. The portions were solid and the flavors were great. The étouffée and pesto chicken were our faves. We’ll likely return!

Healthy, fresh, and delicious---and customizable menu!!!!

By Liz S |

Since this is a gluten free, soy fee, etc place, you'd think it was already customized, but Picnik is happy to help you reduce sugar too!!! LOVE the hash as well as the chopped salad. I visited twice in one week. This is my new FAVE on Burnet Road. I have not yet waited by visiting off hours, but I would wait. This one is a keeper---let's keep them in business, Austin!!!

Best breakfast in ATX

By Adam G |

My wife and I love brunch at Picnik! The selection is somewhat limited and the prices are a bit high but you certainly get what you pay for and the good is DELICIOUS! She in Austin give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Above Expectations. Many Choices and Excellent Butter Coffee.

By txtravellerwfamily |

I loved having a traditional menu item yet prepared in the most healthy possible way, and then ordering something entirely new: Butter Coffee. Superb food and dining experience. I highly recommend trying this place and I'm sure you'll want to return, like I do!

Best Hash EVER

By Jenny H |

The Harvesr Hash is AMAZING, savory tastes of sage, brussels sprouts, sausage, pecans, apples ... like thanksgiving stuffing (northern recipe) without the bread! 2 of us split one order, and added an egg = perfect amount! I didn't know or notice the "gluten-free" aspect, just tasted delicious! And, WHAT??? Butter Coffee?! I had never had it ... another homerun for Picnik!

Paleo options

By CoastWhisperer |

Paleo hasn't caught on in the restaurant universe yet, but Picnik is helping to bust that market open....at least that is my hope. This is a unique spot with really fresh food! Their eggs taste like something fresh off your Grandma's farm - something seldom found nowadays. The menu is a bit limited, but I've enjoyed everything I've sampled. The coffee here is awesome, albeit pricey. However, you can get all kinds of cool things in it if that's what you're into, including fresh butter. I'd take their coffee over Starbucks any day. If you like it sweet, they use pure maple syrup - not some sugary mystery liquid. Or you can get it black. Their muffins are great. The inside is modern and casual with nice touches. Their employees are very friendly - no attitude here! I'd like to see their menu expand a bit, but I highly recommend them.

Keto friendly place

By Bobb M |

We are on the Keto diet and found this to be an excellent place for lunch. Many dishes to accommodate our dietary needs. Excellent food.

A totally gluten free restaurant? Highly recommended!

By Anne C |

If you’re in Austin, you need to dine at Picnik. I’ve dined there several times and it’s always been a pleasure. Great food and service. (They were only doing curbside pick up when I was there in September so you had to call ahead of time to order food). French Toast on Saturday - delicious! Fish tacos - yes! Their food is amazing. Even other friends who aren’t gluten intolerant enjoyed it. It’s great to find a gluten free restaurant with amazing food that everyone loves!

Excellent food and service!

By Jonathan K |

The wife and I stopped here for lunch on a Monday for something healthy to eat after a weekend of BBQ and TexMex. Absolutely loved it! Service was amazing! Friendly and very accommodating with substitutions and tailored options. We shared the cashew queso, wife had avocado toast and a side salad and had the Cobb salad with crispy chicken. Everything we had was really fresh and impressively delicious. Drink selection was equally good with several signature cocktails, Mocktails, wine and beer choices.

Gluten Free and Locally sourced ingredients

By Pocholoboy |

Picnik: A 100 percent Gluten free restaurant, using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Outstanding service, and fresh, flavorful food! Thumbs up!

Delicious but way too expensive

By M C |

We chose this restaurant because of the Paleo options. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful. It has an open area in the back with covered outdoor seating. And a distant view of the city. For 4 adults, we ordered: 1 beer, 1 non-alcoholic drink, 1 appetizer, 4 meals & no dessert, the bill + tip = $125. That's just too much money even for food that's great. I hope they decide to lower the prices. It's far from downtown Austin so I don't think they should be charging that much.

Excellent!

By Stivey |

Delicious, healthy food. Vegan options galore. Had the vegan queso w almond flour tortillas. Also had the vegan Caesar salad. Great service. Great cocktails.

A MUST PLACE TO EAT!!

By Donald H |

WOW! Fantastic food and great service! Our server Hayley was fantastic! She could write a book about excellent customer service! Fantastic happy hour!!

Lunch is worth the wait

By PetriJoyce |

Very popular, gluten free, veggie and KETO options. Come early. You will wait. It’s a lil bit pricier, but the quality is incredible and delicious! You’re paying for quality ingredients, excellent service and ambiance to boot. Order the Mayan mocha butter coffee, just do it!

Perfect size omlet

By Janet D |

I struggle often with omelets being too much for me to eat. When I am out of town I don't want to have to take it with me or leave it, I want to enjoy it all and I was able to do that here. It was fresh, it was hot, it checked all the boxes.

Delicious Food; Great Service; Wonderful Dinner!

By CharlieinTexas |

Ten of us had dinner for my older daughter‘s birthday. Seated promptly in a comfortably sized table. Our server, Eric, was friendly, efficient, and enhanced the experience. Frankly, the entire staff was excellent and seem to be concerned with making sure we all enjoyed our dining experience. For appetizers, the brussels sprouts, chicken nuggets, and guacamole, with almond-based chips, were all good size portions and delicious. We ordered a second brussels sprouts. I would say that the brussels sprouts are among the best in town. Half price appetizers for happy hour a nice surprise! Interesting cocktails and, although simple, a decent wine list. I had the rainbow chopped salad. Excellent crunch with a potpourri of fresh ingredients. Tasty! Everyone enjoyed their entrées. My wife ordered a Cobb salad, with chicken. She said it was the best Cobb salad she had ever eaten. The blonde brownie with vanilla ice cream was a big hit, one of my younger daughter’s favorites. My coffee was bold, full-flavored, and delicious. This place has a nice, energetic feel. I was probably the oldest person there, but it worked well for me. Wanted to give another thank you to our server, Eric! I thought the prices were reasonable. Such a nice experience, I will go back for dinner sooner than later. Classy move - My wife’s order was messed up, just a misunderstanding. Took forever (really, the rest of us were done eating) to bring her food. In a nice, and appropriate, A+ service way, they comped the meal. Nicely done!

A Paleo Must in Austin

By healinglove84 |

I went Paleo for awhile for health reasons and struggled to find the food I needed in most restaurants. Until I found Picnik....i love the food here! I had the orange chicken and it was so delicious! My boyfriend had breakfast tacos and not being Paleo, he still loves it! I tried the little chocolate chip cookies as well, very good. I plan to keep going even though I'm not Paleo anymore. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, I had a great time learning their menu. If you're gluten free or Paleo I highly recommend Picnik, either to go or dine in, it's a great delicious experience.

Great, friendly service, good for large adult family meal; Burnet Road location

By Cal_Travel_Lover |

Great brunch cocktails; good freshly made menu items. Great adaptogens; pitaya margarita, golden milk matcha (vegan). Cashew queso outstanding (vegan). Vegan avocado toast (without egg) one of the few offerings for vegan meal. Others enjoyed the tasty Crispy Fish Mkt tacos

Good for gluten free and coffee drinkers

By JulesDangerFox |

If you're into healthy food and specific diets, especially the Bulletproof coffee phenomenon and gluten free health food (anti inflammatory diets, low carb diets, etc.) then this restaurant is your new best friend. You can come fuel your buzz or fill the tank with solids. It's pretty tasty, I venture to say the food is 4 star, but the great service and options for people that have limiting diets is so amazing I bumped the overall up to 5 stars.

Great Muffins!

By Shelby C |

We went to the 1st street location for lunch twice while visiting Austin. We really enjoyed the blueberry muffins! The other meals were got were all very good but nothing to get too excited about. We really liked their healthier approach to no seed oils and using some organics too.

Good, Fresh Food

By Jackson66_12 |

We visited at lunch. The food was absolutely great as was the service. All gluten-free, fresh food. We had the fish tacos, which were awesome. In a crowded little center, but extra parking in the back. Highly recommend.

Healthy and delish

By Rhorhomac |

I love to visit Picknik, especially early in the morning before the crowds get here. Everything is lovely here, from the breakfast tacos to the coffee.

Very enjoyable, good food, excellent service

By sacredphi |

Went here for breakfast and for dinner take-out. Excellent service, good food, nice ambiance. Love the gluten free and healthy food options.

Gluten Free Blueberry Pancakes - Yum!!

By 939tawnyat |

The Gluten Free Blueberry Pancakes were yummy and you never would have known they were gluten free! The restaurant was very busy on a Friday at lunch, but food and service were still top notch. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable as we needed some explanation around menu items. Everything that came out of the kitchen and passed by us looked and smelled fabulous. We will definitely visit again.

Always good

By Rhorhomac |

Their coffees are smooth and delish, the food is always good and a nice healthy dinner out and the ambiance is chill. Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Way overpriced small portions FREEZING

By Jennifer W |

Our breakfast burritos ($8) were size of 1 corn tortilla. Not filling at all. Had to order something else, mac n cheese ($10) size of small side. For prices we expected gourmet. Only cooks in kitchen. My truffle mac n cheese way better! All tasted average for price. Worst part is walking out spending almost $60 & not full. It was freezing inside too or outside was 94 degrees. Asked to turn it up. Server said they did but I never felt it stop blowing ac. This is a marketing tactic to make you eat faster to turn table or make you buy coffee ($7-9).

Door Dash

By John B |

Posting this to make sure I receive a follow up about the Door Dash driver who stole my chicken tenders (and possibly my digital signature). Thanks!

Dedicated gluten free restaurant

By Erica |

This place was so amazing that we ate here twice in our weekend in Austin. They accommodate other dietary restrictions as well.

Overpriced

By livelovex7 |

Picnik..ok..cute pretty place. Ample parking in the rear. Came for a ladies bday lunch. Wanted to try this place for awhile. Everything is tasty but I think it's way overpriced. Esp for the portion of food you actually get. I did like their Brussels sprouts app and vegan queso was delish. I enjoyed my fish taco which came late bc they forgot my order. Every one else's came already and they were almost done before mine came out. They did comp our 2 desserts though because of this which we appreciated. Now my fish tacos was tasty but small. No sides. Comes in 2. If priced under $10 it would be ok but my friend split hers and it was wee light lunch lol I did like the ice cream sandwich. That was good. The key lime was tart. All the dishes we got looked good. Shrimp curry, shrimp salad, veggie hash..tasty.. Just way overpriced so can't justify giving 4 stars when so many other places around here taste just as good and give a tiny bit more quality and portions. With coffee and drinks we spent way over $300 for lunch. Not sure if I will be back but nice experience though. Now I know what this place is all about:)

A Great Gluten-Free Restaurant

By TexasKatmac1 |

If you didn't know Picnik was a completely gluten-free restaurant, you would never guess it from the interesting menu. They even serve potato-based gin and vodka! And their breads and pancakes are really delicious! Portions are on the small side, but the quality of the food and the service is terrific.

Good food.

By Mark B |

For me, this is the premier Austin restaurant if you have a food allergy, or dietary preference, but it goes beyond what you "can't have." You can order food that is good! The only place for improvement I would recommend is that I felt rushed at the end, as in "can I take this plate?" (One I was sharing with my wife), and again just as soon as I put my fork down, "can I take this plate?" Just take and minute and watch the patrons' cues - have they finished eating, and do the plates now look like they are in the way? And, then the server has the opportunity to ask about dessert.

Gluten Free Heaven

By D B |

OMG! So great. I need to eat gluten-free & I was elated to learn that ALL menu items are gluten free so my choices were not limited! We started out with the roasted Brussels Sprouts with bacon and they were cooked to crispy tender perfection. My husband ordered the Mac and Cheese with bacon it was rich & creamy and just the perfect amount of bacon. I ordered the fish tacos (which I never get to eat since they are usually served on flour tortillas!) with Serrano peppers. First of all there was a very ample portion of perfectly coated strips of fish. And oh, so yummy, I am still dreaming of them - I picked up some of the strips and ate then by themselves before even wrapping them up with the sauce & pickled onions? All I can tell you is that I could eat these fish tacos everyday - too bad I don’t live in ATX. My husband & I both love key lime and so ordered the key lime dessert to share. Major kudos to the chef; everything was delicious by any standards! If you have other foods that you need to avoid they have a special menu with DF, nut free, as well as many others.

OK for "New Austin"

By t4689 |

Yeah, it's OK. Nice and clean, stripped-down pomo style. Trendy and expensive. Really appreciate the quality of the food and attention to allergens. Very safe for those with dietary concerns.

Favorite spot in Austin!

By Amanda M |

My husband and I had a delicious lunch at Picnik. It is so wonderful to have a restaurant with great selections, delicious food and everything on the menu is gluten and refined sugar free!! Syreeta F was a wonderful waitress and everything was delicious!

Quinoa bowl and bipimbap

By laurenvdv |

Picnik is a go-to favorite. So accommodating to modifications or swaps. Whole and natural ingredients that are full of flavor. I got the quinoa bowl with sauteed broccoli instead of quinoa. So yummy. Husband got the bibimbap with steak. Yum.

Absolutely Delicious and Gluten free!

Was visiting Austin for business and was looking for an healthy option, and was not disappointed with my choice! food is absolutely delicious! will come back for sure!

Interesting health food, farm to table like cuisine

By Rayzor57 |

Very much enjoyed my meal as did my wife. She is very food conscious so a lot of ticks in boxes. My meal was well presented and very tasty. The table next to us saw our meals and ordered the same with fresh juices. Tasty with fresh ingredients. A place to go for sure.

Always excellent!

By Anne C |

The menu contains a variety of dishes and everyone I’ve ordered has been excellent. Great atmosphere! Superb service. I always eat there when I’m in Austin. Truly a favorite place. Even if you’re not gluten intolerant you need to dine here! Thank you Anthony for the superb service today!

Something different

By Galina P |

My husband and I were visiting family in Austin and we tried Picknik. This was the only place one of our family members could eat out at because of health reasons. The food was really good. I got a cobb salad and it was very tasty with fresh ingredients. Just like the other reviews say, it is pricey but it is a must try.

Discriminated against my inability to wear a mask for medical reasons

By Alena D |

I won't go back and filed a complaint with Americans With Disabilities Act for their discrimination. I was wearing a shield, they wouldn't seat me for dinner service, even on the open air porch if I walked around.
