I was wandering around Pier 39 and decided I would like clam chowder for an early dinner. I was seated quickly with a nice view of the Bay. Service was quick and very efficient. I had chowder in a sourdough bowl, which was delicious, and a local beer. The waiter was prompt without hovering, and gave me a box and bag for the bread remnants.

The pier is a fantastic experience, full of life, people and restaurants. The sea lions are great. Would certainly return

We visited San Francisco and during our visit to Alcatraz after getting off the ferry we searched for a place to get an excellent seafood meal in Fisherman's Pier at Pier 39. My daughter looked up top restaurants in the area and this one was first on the list. We each had a different meal o had the grilled lobster, my wife the fried fish platter and my daughter the grilled platter. All were excellent my favorite was the calamari which came with the my wife's fried platter. This restaurant reminded me of the City Island seafood restaurants we have in NY as the food was well prepared, and tasted excellent at the same time.

Visiting Pier Market is one of our highlights of visiting San Francisco! The clam chowder is a must! I'm not fond of clams but a bowl of this chowder is a must. I've had the salmon, fish and chips and cod. All was delicious. The restaurant was busy but we were seated within 15 minutes and service was excellent.

I've been here twice, and coming from the West, I'm used to different seafood options. But honestly, you can't get seafood fresher than at Bayside on Pier 39. You can tell they source their seafood locally. I had the clam chowder sour dough on the first day, and it was the best I've ever tasted. Truly amazing. The lobster tails I had on the second day were also really good.

We came here trying to find a good chowder after having a bad experience at another place. The fish was crispy and fresh and the clam chowder was delicious. The prices are good for what else is around and they are generous with the portions. I recommend if you are on or near Pier 39.

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch and had a great time. The clam chowder was excellent, well stocked and very tasty!

Visited Pier 39 to meet up with some friends and met them at the Pier Market. I willingly admit that I was hesitant to dine in any of the restaurants in the number 1 tourist trap in San Francisco. However, Pier Market turned out to be a good choice. The food was great. Service was excellent and the view was good.

A pleasant clean, comfortable and good food place. I will return. Atmosphere calm, friendly, a very good service.

Fantastic dinner of local fish, cooked very well. Very fast service. Local wine could have been better. Fantastica vista sul Pier39!

During our tour of San Francisco Bay, we arrived by chance at this restaurant, located at Pier 39. Since we were hungry we didn't really want to keep walking and look for another option. Within minutes we were awarded a table, overlooking the bay. Clam cream, fish and chips and a chicken dish were ordered. All three options were good., however what was most successful for its flavor was clam cream. The place is usually busy, clean, the staff is friendly, there are those who speak Spanish. The toilets were in passable condition, there are 3 for both genders. After a few days we returned to eat: pasta with seafood, clam cream and a burger, and again everything was very rich and presentable. I recommend the place if you are in the 39th pier.

Very busy. Had to be given a pager and told the wait could be 15 mins. In the end it was only 5 mins. we ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl and it did not disappoint. Very tasty even if a little difficult to eat without getting messy fingers. (Caused by tearing the bread apart). Very quick friendly service. Shame I will probably never be back as along way from the UK

view is good and food somewhat not to my expectation. The crab , we ordered is a whole one, but the head did not shown and as we asked for steam, that must be juicy . And it seems smaller than normal.

The place and food was good. The people assisting us was courteous and smiling. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay with Pier Market Seafood Restaurant.

We had dinner at this restaurant in our first night in San Francisco. We had a fish and chips and a roasted salmon hamburger: servings are big and taste very good. The service is fast and the waiters are kind. Average value for money: quite cheap for San Francisco’s standards.

Great place with really OUTSTANDING chowder. Staff was excellent, view of the bay was great. Very good craft beer selection. Pier 39 prices are Pier 39 prices, but the quality here really stood out.

Great Cioppino by Pier Market, very good to start our stay in San Francisco. Located in the Pier 39, an amazing site.

Situated on Pier 39 which is set up for the tourist industry, expectations weren’t high for this restaurant. However Pier Market Seafood failed to live up to our low expectations with expensive bland seafood which tasted like it had probably been frozen at some stage in its journey from sea to plate. On the plus side the staff were friendly and reasonably attentive. One to avoid if you like quality seafood.

This could easily be a tourist trap being one of numerous restaurants on Pier 39 but it isn't. I dined there and had four superb meals and, on a couple of occasions, wonderful views. Great ambience due to the hum of happy diners. Excellent service, especially of my first visit when Camille was very helpful. I would especially recommend the halibut and the lobster tails.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by dining here. Food was lovely and cocktails were reasonably priced and very nice. After we ate we sat at the bar and had a drink. The barman Rick was superb and very friendly . Thank you

A superb discovery! Excellent restaurant where we were able to taste several specialties we did not know, and everything was absolutely delicious! Pros: Tasty food: The dishes are well prepared and full of flavors. Top service: The staff is welcoming, good advice and very professional. Awesome setting: The location and atmosphere of the restaurant are perfect, with a pleasant view and a typical atmosphere. In short, an excellent dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to discover delicious seafood specialties in an exceptional setting.

Went on the recommendation of someone from the hotel. restaurant has a great view of the marina and the machinery actively putting boats uop for storage and out on the water. The server, Emma, ignored for a while until her manager pointed out that I needed some attention. After that she was very nice and helpful. The food however left a lot to be desired. My cup of clam chowder was cold - not, just not hot, it was cold. emma too it way, had it re-heated and comped me for this - thank you Emma. I was in New England and thought I had to try a lobster roll, although I am not a great fan of lobster. Don't really know how to judge it but this was nothing special to me. The lobster was a bit tough and chewy and was dressed in just some mayonnaise.

I go to pier market for crab on bannock every time I go to sanfran for the past 20 yrs. This time Aug 2025 I arrived and ordered crab on bannock and the guy looked at me weird and said we don't serve bannock. So I got the crab sandwich on plain soft bread bun and noticed the crab meat clump was about way less than usual. And the price was $18 . What was a tradition i craved everytime is now gone. I will not be visiting this pier market at pier 39 ever again.

Chose here for lunch while recently visiting Pier 39. I had read great reviews of the Clam Chowder and Fish and Chips and thought that sounded like the perfect lunch. The Chowder was excellent! Plentiful, hearty, very tasty. Exactly what I was looking for. It did not disappoint. The fish and chips I found to be quite greasy and not as crisp as I was expecting. Not terrible by any means but average. My daughter reported the same. The service was very good (shout out to Ivan) and the food did come quickly and was hot. The restaurant had great fires of the harbour. I must say the grilled seafood looked excellent. I would return for the chowder and try something else in the menu.

My veggie wife had the impossible burger, my son had chicken strips and I had the chowder in the sourdough bowl. It was all very good and no more expensive than the rest of SF.

It's loud, it's vibrant, but the food is amazing, served promptly and correctly. For such a busy restaurant, which we normally avoid this was buzzing. Mtly wife had the crumbled scallop popcorn as a started. It was amazing. Chowder was good, could have had less potato . Overall great experience

The chowder was superb and the crab and crab cakes really nice. Fairly priced for the standard of food given and also a good vibrant atmosphere. Considering the numbers of people, the service was also excellent. We went twice in 4 days !

We enjoyed the meal and had a nice view of the bay. Worth the visit while you are in the Fisherman’s Wharf area.

We had a wonderful dinner here last night , so good we coming back to night also it is our last night in San Francisco before we driving up to Mammoth with my nephew's family for a week of fun skilling , it is located in Pier 39 halfway to the pier , spacious bright large windows around the dinning room , outside patio is first come first sever very busy for weeknight , menu is about 80% is Seafood another 20 % is Bungers and Steak , Sandwich and Chicken to choose from , surprised not too expensive for a seafood restaurant , we happy sharing the steamed Clams plus the Sourdough Bowl Clam Chowder plus the Seafood Penny and the Crab , wow! wow! all the dishes truly a San Fan's classic so fresh well balance with spicy and ingredients , I ate a lot of Crab around the World , this is one of the amazing one I ate , so meaty juicy and you can taste the ocean breeze , truly exceeded my expectations in quality and price ! service is great not miss a beat , it is a seafood heaven ! if you visiting in the area must try this restaurant and the CRAB !!!!!!

Fish in all three dishes ordered was dry and overcooked. The presentation was messy. Vegetables were very salty. A very busy restaurant. Perhaps the kitchen is overworked?

Very good experience at Pier 39. We chose two seafood dishes and were great. We were impressed with the speed we were served.

Our family had a very nice dinner here during our visit to San Franscisco. I had cajun cod and my wife had a shrimp combo. Both meals were both fresh and tasty. We had a great view of the setting sun over the bay. Our waiter, Enrique was efficient and attentive. He did a marvelous job of making our dining experience enjoyable.

Good food and very quick and polite service. Think the menu was a little over priced hence the 4 stars but probably not any more expensive than the rest of the city.

A very pleasant choice made for dinner among the many typical places on Pier 39, a very broad menu that satisfies every palate. We took 1 Cioppino and 1 trout with vegetables and potatoes. The memorable cioppino, plentiful and very tasty (it is linguine on the bottom with lots of tomato and lots of good fish), very good trout, as were the potato vegetables (they were simply boiled, without strange additions of unrequested/unspecified sauces). For dessert, we split a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Prices are not low ($36 for Cioppino, $24 for trout, $10 for dessert) but in line with the American market. But everything is really good, highly recommended for Italians who want genuine flavors and good/healthy food. Waiters attentive to customers and very present

The food was mediocre, as was the service. The cod was over-seasoned and over-grilled. My husband's fried shrimp was good, but the sauce was more like fries sauce. At least we sat outside at a table overlooking the marina.

Nice restaurant at Pier 39 We ate the soup in bread with crabs. Was very tasty. The lobster we have also tried, is recommended, but also costs. A visit is worthwhile. Elephant seals were very close

Restaurant well placed on Pier 39 boardwalk, overlooking the harbour. The staff is welcoming and the service was quick. We wanted to taste the specialties of San Francisco and the waiter directed us very well. We chose a BreadBowl and a Cioppino, it was very good, a beautiful discovery. We ate very well, the portions being generous. We recommend.

I do not recommend this restaurant. Unsatisfactory value for money. In my opinion it's not worth it, there are better restaurants on Pier 39. The staff are friendly but that's not enough.

The food was awesome , servers service was the best, but the manager was so rude. We were told to hurry cause the were more people to be seated and already took to long

Good staff, good food and drinks and an amazing vibe! We loved the clamchouder in sourdough bread!!!

Chose this restaurant to have the Clam Chowder in the sourdough. We weren’t disappointed. Prices are pretty similar across Fisherman’s Wharf. Our host Kevin was very good.

Warm and friendly welcome, escorted to our table overlooking the bay and the sea looks to our right. We had the clam chowder with sourdough bread along with salad. My wife opted the chicken with her salad and I had the crab. Stunning is the best words to use. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food and our stay.

Had the mixed grill and was pleasantly surprised by how well everything was cooked. It's not uncommon to see fish overcooked and dry, but this was not the case here. Would consider this place slightly on the pricey side for what it is, but would still recommend to others.

Hostes guy very disrespect person , I think he might be restaurant owner making his own rules … good luck for the restaurant

Inspired by the reviews we chose this place, it is very spacious and busy, so we queued up, we left the number and as soon as a seat opened up, they warned us. As soon as we arrived they brought us bread with butter. We took: Fried Calamari $19.95 (House - breaded and served with cocktail sauce) is served alongside French fries Breadbowl Clam Chowd (Sourdough Bowl) $12.95 2 Soda $10.50 With taxes we spent $49.50 (tips aside) Definitely two nice dishes, which fill a lot, but we had to try them!

Good experience at Pier Market for both quality and service. Good value for money and efficiency of the staff, friendly and helpful, even under pressure at a peak time like 20:30 tonight, September 25. By 1:30 p.m. we had already taken their take-away fish specialties and the result was just as positive. Highly recommended!

We visited having tried several other restaurants on the pier and found this to serve good food at reasonable tourist prices. It was good to see a menu not rammed with burgers! The sole was lovely as was the garlic potatoes. Service excellent too

Really good food at average prices but absolutely adequate. The location is very nice, right on the pier, with partial views of Alcatraz and the seals. Prompt and courteous Service. We had a great time

Restaurant with beautiful views of the San Francisco harbor. Very fast service (maybe too much) and with a wide choice. Discreet food without excellence.

At the end of a boat ride in San Francisco Bay, we stopped at this Fisherman's Wharf place where we tried a "Breadbowl Clam Chowd", would be to say a soft bread, used as a container of a sauce made of clams, coke and grilled squid, as well as two espressos, so to speak. Very nice place and very crowded, discreet "breadbowl" and grilled squid, not as much coffee. Good service, average prices for this city ($50, including tip, for two people), noisy, but cozy environment, right overlooking the bay, opposite Alcatraz!

I was there tonight for dinner with my wife. Restaurant inside Pier 39 overlooking the bay. Fish menu, good food (Ciuppino in particular was the best among those tried in four different restaurants), fast and courteous service and fairly low prices compared to the local average. Reservation recommended

Dripped in on a busy Saturday afternoon. Great food, service and drinks. Highly recommend the chowder, crab cakes and apple crisp.

Had to come back one more time before we left SF. The caesar salad with crabmeat is so good, I've had it three times while here for 5 days! (Once at Fog Harbor which is a sister restaurant to Pier Market.) Great service when we need to change our reservation. Food is always a 100 out of 10.

On our recent family vacation to San Francisco we ( 8 people) stopped into Pier Market Seafood for lunch. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server came right over and took our drink order. When she came back with the drinks we had decided to order just appetizers. We ordered clam chowder, garlic fries, crab cakes, sweet and sour calamari and oysters. All the food came out quicky and it was all delicious. We enjoyed our drinks and appetizers while overlooking the water. I would highly recommend the Pier Market.

Location and pleasant atmosphere, all very clean, beautiful view of the pier, professional staff, smiling and helpful. Correct prices and a good choice of dishes; ...top clam soup!! Book and enjoy the seafood market.

We sat in a nice environment, looking over the sea, eating delicious food & drinks. The price-quality balance was good.

I had reserved a table for six people. When we arrived, two people from the group were still missing and the lady at reception didn't want to let us sit at the table at first. Only when we assured her that the two missing people would arrive soon did she show us to the table. She threw the menus on the table rather brusquely and made it clear to us that we were not welcome. We turned around and left. Apparently they had so many guests that she was afraid we would occupy the table for too long. That was fine with us. In the restaurant next door we got a table for six people without a reservation.

Very quaint place with beautiful views of the harbor. Fish of excellent quality, my husband and I tried a fish first and a second and both were very good .. Very fast service and very kind and friendly waiters. Local always very full, and there is the possibility to dine at the counter. Reservation is still recommended. Great beers too! Good value for money! Recommended!

Pier Market Seafood is located on the waterfront about halfway down Pier 39. The tables look out to the waterfront for a lovely dinner setting. My wife and I enjoyed a delicious ceviche appetizer and then salmon and cioppino entrees, followed by two desserts that included ice cream on the side (we are ice cream junkies!). Service was professional, and the prices were very fare for the quality and setting. We would certainly return on our next trip to San Francisco (we go about every ten years!).

Busy luncheon spot among many places and the reason is by far for their good food. Chose it on TA reviews. Clams chowder A must. Great burger. Sadly one of our dish was forgotten on the order. Unfortunate but it happens. We thought of canceling but thanks to the manager on duty, it was quickly served and dealt with skills & manners. Thanks to you. FAOA

It was great to have a nice meal in the middle of this very touristy area. The host staff was accommodating to help us get a table by the window by only waiting a few extra minutes (we poked into a few stores and they texted when ready). The views were amazing, the restaurant was very clean and well maintained. There was something on the menu for everyone (my daughter is a picky eater). The server was attentive, kind and knowledgeable and we did not wait long at all for our food. Highly recommended this restaurant if you in touring this area and seeking a nice restaurant that doesn’t feel like a chain or a tourist trap.

Good food, good service and reasonable price. Catered for gluten free as well. What more can I ask for?

I have to say wasn’t overly impressed with the food here. Came out within minutes, chips were greasy and prawns tasted a little funny. Considering I had dined at Fog Harbour the day before, nothing close to the quality at fog harbour.

Came here for dinner with my family and we were very pleased by the service. The food was great. Good value for money. I highly recommend.

I can't say this was bad, because it wasn't...it just wasn't great and that went for everything from the atmosphere to the service and the food. It was certainly fairly busy and obviously fairly popular, but we didn't go back

Fantastic. Chowder in soughdough Bread good service recommended to others in our group. Might even go back tomorrow thanks

Possibility of takeaway until a certain time. Afterwards only at the table. The fried food, calamari, prawns and more are really well done. Their beer is also good. Pay attention to the bill, they made a mistake for us twice but we solved it easily

We went around 4 during the week so we were seated immediately. Service was slow. We had a view of the water which was nice. The clam chowder in the bread bowl was delicious! My husband had the hamburger and he said it had no flavor...not very good. Our adult drinks were also delicious!

On my first visit to San Francisco I had to visit Pier 39 and treat myself to a bowl of Clam Chowder. It didn’t disappoint 😋

The fish and chips with Coleslaw are well prepared and at $22 also within the frame in terms of price. You can also sit nicely overlooking the harbour. Fie operation is friendly.

Good value for money, however, noise level is very, very, very high. Kitchen staff is throwing plates. I will not go back.

Lovely view onto the harbour from the window. Lots of delicious selection of dishes and nice cocktails. Great friendly professional service also. Recommend the mussels, the mixed grill seafood and the apple crisp.

The salmon and cod were outstanding, shrimp was average. Reservations recommended. Would eat here again. Can see the occasional stray sea lion out the windows.

If you go to visit Pier 39 in San Francisco to see the sea lions on the pier, then stop to eat at this seafood restaurant. Recommendation mixed grilled fish.

⸻ Pier 39 is a vibrant and lively place, and this restaurant is a great example of that energy. It’s run by the well-known Simon family group and offers both seafood and American-style dishes. The clam chowder soup is especially popular and definitely worth trying. There’s a lovely patio area, and if you’re lucky—or patient—you might snag a table there. The indoor seating also offers great views. The staff are polite and efficient, and the prices are reasonable. I really enjoyed my experience here and highly recommend it!

Well this was just stunning. Busy but stunning. The food was expensive but worth it. We had lots of delicious treats here. Staff were very friendly.

Very cozy restaurant on Pier 39 pier. Beautiful location, beautiful view of the pier, courteous and fast service, despite the crowds. We tried the clam soup and the inevitable Crab which I highly Recommendation. Really recommended.

Although located in a very touristy area; we enjoyed a very nice dinner , good quality at reasonable prices served by very attentive waiters !!

This restaurant is very busy. The food is great and service on point. It has a better vibe than the local Fog Harbour which is too loud and very crowded. The views of the harbour are nice. Watch out for local fees added to your bill, not only the 5% Employee Health charge added to all restaurant bills before you the tip. TIP: Book in advance.

Excellent location and staff. Food very good and could be adjusted to your needs. Oysters overpriced and small compared to some other options in town. It is definitely a good place to eat at the pier. In busy hours might need reservation.

We waited for a table for 20 mins (we had a group of 5 which is challenging to seat), and the view / food was so worth it. We got a table by the window in the back with the a view of the pier. Our servers were pleasant and the experience was good. The place is kid friendly and pretty crowded in the afternoon but the food came quick. The next day, we had 15 mins to grab lunch before a 90 min cruise. We were back at the take out window and had wolfed down our rolls with 5 mins to spare.

On a whirlwind tour of San Francisco for visiting relatives, we stopped here for lunch. It was a lovely afternoon, and we really appreciated the view of the sea lion docks and bay from the dining room. Service was wonderful, very friendly and attentive. Our food was good. I had the salmon burger with fries. It was quite tasty. We also tried the pulled pork sandwich, very good. Prices were reasonable for touristy San Francisco. I would return next time I'm playing tourist in the city.

Had the clam chowder and fisherman's platter (calamari, shrimp, fish and chips). Chowder was good, although I would have liked it a bit hotter. Platter was also good, although I found the calamari a bit chewier than normal. Don't remember my server's name, but she was excellent. Had an outside seat under a heater, which was perfect to people watch the crowds on pier 39. Would definitely recommend and come back for another visit.

Great food , service and value . We are there twice , having the boiled crab, Clam Chowder sour bread bowl , chicken and crab cakes . All the food was delicious with no issues , nicely served by polite staff . USA is expensive at the moment, but this still felt like reasonable value , with great views of the bay and the sea lions

Good restaurant! Very big and with lots of seafood options! Abundant and tasty food. I found it very noisy... other than that everything was fine!

We booked online for an early dinner on a Saturday night. Two of us arrived early so that they could arrange a single table for 10. Seafood was great and the kids enjoyed their choices. I splurged for the garlic crab and was not disappointed. this is a large restaurant that is well organized with efficient and friendly staff.

FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND ABUNDANT (LOBSTER SUBLIME), STAFF FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT AND INFORMED ABOUT GLUTEN-FREE, TOO BAD THERE WAS NO GLUTEN-FREE CAKE. IN SAN FRANCISCO, WE ALWAYS DINED HERE, BECAUSE LUNCHES AT OTHER PLACES WERE DISAPPOINTING.

Comfy place with views of the harbor, ships and seals. The restaurant gives you quite a few options for food, all of which sound great. However, we chose two fairly common dishes (Salmon and Grilled Chicken Breast) and both were just ok. Nothing super obviously wrong, just not overly amazing either. Kind of hard to explain. Price is pretty high, but what isn't in California? Overall I gave 4 out of 5 stars, but would still recommend it to others. It's also adjacent to the other Pier 39 attractions, so there's other stuff to do as you leave.

We ate here for lunch and were lucky to be seated by the window with lovely views overlooking the water. Our server Johnny was super friendly and attentive. We shared a bottle of Napa Cellars Sauvignon Blanc which was lovely. The food tasted amazing it was so delicious, we didn’t feel rushed at all to leave at the end and took our time to finish our wine. I would highly recommend eating here if you are at Pier 39 - you won’t be disappointed!

Read a review that recommended not going to Fisherman's Wharf / the Piers if you want good seafood. We should have listened to that advise. Ordinary, unimaginative, bland. Mostly "good", but nothing great. Server rates a very good. There is nothing like truly fresh food. Too bad the food here lacked that something special.

The Reception was attentive. The waitress was able to suggest the wine by glass when I asked for a full bodied, less acidity white wine. The Clam Chowder was tasty. They were flexible with the side dish and replaced the potatoes with the sauteed vegetables. However both of the seafood dishes we ordered were too oily.

Nice restaurant with inside and outside seating options. It's a seafood restaurant, although has other options on the menu. My waitress Ana was very good, friendly and helpful. Very popular due to the location of the restaurant, so quite crowded. I was unable to leave a tip for the waitress due to the old fashioned ways of managing card payments and not being able to add it to the total amount on the card machine. Its too much of a security risk to add it manually on a piece of paper after the card payment has been processed and approved without me adding my pin into a machine, hopefully they will update this way of working soon to help provide more tips for the staff. They had already added the sales tax and an employee mandated 5% on to the bill.

This is my favorite seafood place in the Bay Area. When ever I have friends visit from out of town this is our destination. We take the ferry From Oakland .and walk around. Perfect SF experience.❤️

Really nice location and very friendly excellent service (thanks Sophia). Really enjoyed the oysters - fantastic! Then shared the breaded prawns, also crab cakes, and some fries. Really tasty and would recommend.

Pier Market Seafood Restaurant in San Francisco is a real gem! The fish is absolutely wonderful – fresh, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The view of the bay is stunning and adds to the relaxed but vibrant atmosphere. The clientele is mostly local, making the experience even more genuine, and the service is both friendly and attentive without feeling intrusive. An obvious recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy really good fish in a lovely environment!

I ordered the blackened cod meal. It came out quickly, well cooked and hot. Sides of vegetable and potatoes also tasty. The price was fair for seafood and for the plentiful portions

After reading the reviews and wanting seafood by the pier, we settled on this little nugget of a restaurant. I strongly advise you book!! I did and I'm glad I did. This place was very busy, but the staff took it all in their stride with a smile. The chowder was excellent as was the mussel dish. We loved every bit of our experience.

The fire shrimp lunch was adequate in every respect. Slightly over cooked shrimp but a tasty meal and it did what I wanted. Good service and fair prices.

Nice atmosphere. Quick to seat. Friendly and attentive waitress. My kids enjoyed it here. They have non alcoholic mocktails. The fried calamari was nice and crispy. Crab was fresh. I recommend

Fair price, fast service but really nothing exceptional... I expected better seafood, let's say it's more of a snack than a "restaurant".

Location on Pier 39, pier view. The soup in the bread was very good, the fried calamari was not bad, the fried prawns were very good indeed. Very fast

We had the chowder in sourdough bowl & shrimp combo, amazing food and service! You can see the sea lions too!

Cheap and abundant dishes. Caught crab and shrimp, squid rings and fish and chips with chips...recommended

A very good restaurant for eating fish or seafood, on Fisherman’s Wharf this restaurant is nice, the service is good and we ate well, the produce is fresh and the Awards are in line with what is done in the city.

the personal in the restaurant very kind, the clam chowder was delicious. some food was salty. So please take care on that.

Really good and fair prices! We had the famous clam chowder in the bread and the mixed fried fish, it was all great and the portions hearty. The view from our table over the bay and sea lions was very pretty. Really a nice place I would definitely return to!

Great service—really friendly server, food—range of seafood—chowder in a bread bun, fish 'n chips and calamari, and view of the sealions on decks around the pier.

The restaurant was very busy and we arrived earlier than the reservation we made but they were able to seat us by the bar with no issue. We shared the fried calamari starter which was very nice and both had fish and chips which was very tasty, the fish was very well cooked and the batter was nice and crisp. The hard strawberry lemonade and San Francisco bay breeze cocktails were also very good

We ate very well, the dishes were delicious and well prepared, with local specialties in the spotlight. Mood was nice and the place quite well located. Only small downside: the waitress who took care of our table was not very friendly. Despite this, I recommend this restaurant without hesitation!

Great food, great view, great service! We ordered chicken and prawns with a glass of wine. All three were spectacular. Would come again!

Excellent clam chowder, pulled pork sandwich too. Fast service, friendly staff and a really nice location overlooking Pier 39. At peak times there may be a queue and, after leaving your name and number, they will send you a message to let you know that your table is ready. Well organised

Food was amazing, and the Mongolian manager there was exceptionally nice. Highly recommended seafood place!!

I was disappointed. I had expected better tasting and better quality food for what they charge. It was expensive for what you get with what you ordered. I won’t ever go back. The taste and integrity of the food wasn’t up to par either.

I'm from Italy and beginning of sept I was in vacation in SF with my family of five. We had a dinner at Pier Market Seafood Restaurant. It was really a very good experience. Good food and very good value for money. If you pas by there don't miss it.

I ordered grilled shrimp with mixed vegetables, oysters on the half shell and a glass of house Chardonnay. The shrimp were very tasty while the oysters hit the spot. I didn't have to wait long for my food either as I was provided excellent service from my waiters. I had a nice view of the SF Bay from my table.

The food and atmosphere are great. Pricing is very reasonable. But I hate being chased to empty the table. 1-star for services due to the rush.

The clam chowder alone is worth 5 stars! Very thick and delicious. Really nice place, great service and good food. Try it!

Good fish and seafood restaurant at Pier 39. Very good frying of squid and prawns. Very accomplished seafood popcorn. Also the clam cream served on a loaf.

This is a really nice place to eat down by the water. I spent some time here before grabbing a city tour and the food was delicious!

Food - Amazing Drinks - Good and cold Service - our young girl who served couldn’t do more. Went over and above. Polite, consistent and peaceful. She earned her tip. Especially once we asked to move out the 35 degree sun. 0 complaints all the praise However the host not with the most. Couldn’t be bothered. Anything we asked was too much. Lack of interest and bored by our custom. Stunk up the experience a little. But if you don’t give your feedback they never learn and nothing might change for other people’s experience. Besides this everything else was good

Spent the weekend in San Francisco with friends and we stopped by Pier Market Seafood. The place was busy but had a fun, lively vibe that made it easy to enjoy the meal. The seafood was fresh and really tasty, and the portions were more than enough. Everything we ordered came out quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful, even with the crowd. It is a great spot if you want solid seafood in a casual setting while exploring the city. I would definitely go back next time I am in town.

Fabulous restaurant with a beautiful view of Alcatraz. The garlic crab was absolutely incredible! Clam chowder was very good and garlic french fries pour over the top. I would highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Pier 39, and it’s wide array of shops.

In SF from London UK for our wedding anniversary and heard a lot about this place and it didn’t disappoint. Even without a reservation on a Saturday, they found us a table quickly and the food was fantastic! Thank you

Excellent service and very tasty food. Had the mix grill and potatoes and it was very good. The service was ultra fast, and the explanations were professional

There is menu for kids (even if everything is fried :) ) you can see from the windows the sea and the seals. The fish is good and fresh.

The clam chowder & honey bbq shrimp were the meal favorites. The garlic roasted crab was just ok. The butter sauce wasn’t really flavored enough. Nice view to see the sea lions & passerby. Request seat close to window. Waiter service was good & seated right away at 3-4pm during the week

We had a nice meal here after shopping at Pier 39. I had a cup of clam chowder plus fried shrimp and fries and they were very good. My wife opted for the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and enjoyed it very much. She tried a blackberry lemon drop drink and liked it a lot. Our server was friendly and efficient.

The restaurant is large, the service is adequate and quick, overall good food, a little confusing but in line with the "tourist" nature of Pier 39.

I went here on the first night of my trip. Cioppino was good, chowder was excellent. The only bad part of my meal was losing a filling due to the bread, but it was worth it.

Although we were sceptical finding nice food on pier-39, this place surprised us. The clam showder, sea-platters were really nice. The grilled food is a recommendation. Of course, it is crowdy and once you are finished, you get the bill to make room for next clients, but that’s expected on pier-39. At the end, the food is what matters most

Great food, very good fish. We tried the mix of fish (1 portion to be divided into 2) and garlic bread .. and it was all delicious. Very friendly staff and very quaint environment.

Have come here four times now. Been coming here in between trips overseas. Always busy and we get the claim chowder. Had the surf and turf and mix grilled that had prawns, fish and salad. Would recommend to come and have dinner or lunch. Book in advance if you want views next to windows of the pier. Lovely sunset with golden gate bridge and seals in background.

I really liked the atmosphere by the sea, thanks for the attention provided very rich food, I actually took a nice experience with my family, I am from El Salvador...

Very good restaurant and value for money. Pleasant well mannered staff. Will visit again soon. Peter

Excellent restaurant for both fish and meat...excellent surf'n'turf and grilled salmon, delicious pulled pork. Have no doubts Super friendly waiter

Had a lovely meal, fresh fish, great service. Had a window seat overlooking the water and seals - the sun was shining, perfect 👌

Delicious sea food if you like sea food you must try here. Very kind waitress, clean, and good price. You can share a plate

The host Martin was very helpful. The restaurant was crowded and we decided try elsewhere. He actually followed us to let us know that he was opening additional section of the restaurant. We returned and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Thank you Martin for your kindness.

our server, Stefan, was incredible. the food was magnifique and the service was fast. beautiful view out to the bay, and you can see the Golden Gate Bridge from here. and the sea lions!

My husband and I had dinner here based on the TripAdvisor reviews and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is nice, you can see the boats coming in and even saw a seal sunbathing right out the window. Dinner was good. I had the shrimp skewers and hubby had jambalaya. He substituted the noodles for rice with no problem. He said it was better than anything he had in New Orleans.

Very good quality of ingredients. The preparation is traditional but well done. To be a convenience restaurant the quality is excellent and the price very reasonable.

Yes, to me the principal attraction was the fine Seafood Clamchowder I found with Pier Market Seafood Restaurant, but the service was also overwhelmingly prompt.

We had dinner at this restaurant in late July. We found excellent seafood, both the fried proposed as an appetizer and, above all, the grilled crab, very good and tasty. Service is of a good standard. Recommended

Great seafood, service and price. Nice view of the bay. Booked online with the walk in service and only waited less then 5mins to be seated

We ate here on a weekday night and it was very busy; we had about a 20-minute wait but had a wander around the shops first. Me and my husband both ordered the grilled swordfish which was unbelievably tasty. The service was excellent, and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. I can definitely recommend it!

We visited this restaurant for a late lunch on the 14th of May 2023. It was very crowded since it was the weekend and a Sunday at that. The waiting period was about half an hour but because of the crowd we got to sit on the pier opposite the restaurant. It was 14 degrees then in San Francisco that day .Their service was courteous and their sea food dishes were delicious. Their prawns, lobster are worth trying. Dr. Javed Rasheed

It’s a bit the factory but we ate well. Recommended for its clam showder soup, a priori the best in San Francisco, it was indeed very good. Well located with views of the seals. Wide choice of seafood. And there are people, so flow!

We’ve already been here years ago. So we wanted to have a little lunch at Pier market again. Despite of ordering two glasses of whine and water, the service was quite rude. Due to having had a big breakfast we only chose one clam chowder for both. That was the point where the waitress wasn’t friendly any more. Not even having finished the soup she presented the bill and wanted us to leave quickly… there were many tables left, so we did not block a table for more guests. Really disappointing experience…

Not the restaurant we had originally intended to custom, our visit to Pier Market was serendipitous! The blackened cod was absolutely exquisite and did not need the remoulade accompaniment. Camille was a wonderful hostess and took great care of us! Pier 39 is a San Francisco "must", but you will definitely "miss the boat" if you don't dine at Pier Market!

Quaint restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf. We had dinner with fried squid, fish and chips and local gray fish accompanied by seasonal vegetables. Good food overall and good beer. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Stopped in to take break and eat. Much better than expected. Food was quicker than expected and really good.

This was a great restaurant located conveniently on Pier 39. We visited during the evening but had no issue getting a table immediately. The server greeted us quickly and took our order. The food came quickly as well and was fresh. I ordered the crab cakes dinner, my sister ordered salmon, and mom order the grilled shrimp. Everything tasted great and the portions were big. Plenty of food, and we definitely left full.

Large restaurant with places inside and outside, we being evening and getting cool we preferred to eat inside. Great variety of dishes, especially fish. I had a steak that was quite tender. Fast and kind Service. We stayed at the zRiu plaza and the reception had given us a ticket to have a 15% discount that was applied to us at the end of dinner.

The top crab in San Francisco. We also ate the salmon which was really good. Prices compliant with the tourist location. To try

Pier Market was our favourite restaurant that we visited on our USA trip. I always visit on my trips to San Francisco but it was my wife's first time. The service was excellent and the food is amazing. Our favourite dish was the sweet and sour squid but everything we ordered on our two visits was delicious. Absolutely recommend this restaurant.

We made a reservation prior to our trip to San Francisco. After the first visit we liked the experience so made another booking and then a third so we got to eat a few different dishes. You also had a white wine we enjoy so that also helped our choice. We always seemed to get what we thought was a reasonable seat which added to the experience. The only criticism was that the vegetables with the blackened cod dish seemed a little overcooked!

Cute place, good lobsters 🦞 also the claim chowder not bad but I ate better here in San Francisco. Average prices for the shameful place here the premises close all very early!

I was a good dinner together with my business partner. The ambiance was good food was good, I will return for next business dinner.

The products are very good, the fish very fresh... We had a Maine lobster, a Clam Chowder and a plate of pasta with seafood. Too bad for the overabundance of spices and spicy! You can taste the fish slightly... too bad. Bay view, lovely.

We stumbled upon the place while walking along Pier 39, we were attracted by the chowders I wanted to try and we did well. We had crab added to the clam chowder dish and it was exceptional. The service was attentive and fast and although we had no reservation we didn't have to wait, and we even managed to sit in the sun which was very pleasant. Excellent prices compared to the average fish restaurants. Advised.

Excellent seafood with attentive service. Be careful with starters as some portions are huge. Calamari for example was ample to share by 2 people. Nice bottle of Chardonnay watching the seal attraction

We were looking for a restaurant after sunset where we could eat and sit inside. We didn't regret the choice. A good selection on the map , reasonable prices for SF and everything was delicious. The operation fit - so a clear Recommendation.

We originally went to their website and weas routed to Yelp for a table reservation on a holiday weekend. When we got to the restaurant, we were informed that they do not take reservations and cannot honor whatever reservation we had made earlier (event though I had the confirmation message to prove it). We just had the gentleman put us in a waitlist and had a table within 10 minutes. For 2 adults and 3 kids between the ages of 3-10, we ordered the clam chowder, linguine with clams, calamari, fish fillet and extra fries. Everything was fresh and delicious and our server, Trisha, was an absolute sweetheart.

Went here twice. I am from the Midwest, and used to the food options of the Midwest. In my opinion, you CANNOT get seafood more fresh that right here. Bayside on pier 39, you can tell that a lot of what they have is as close to locally sourced seafood as possible. Had the salmon on day 1. You will not find a place with better tasting salmon than this one. Truly amazing. Had the crab cakes on day 2, which were very good as well.
Pier market 39
First day in San Francisco booked and dined Great experience Fast Service, good choice of dishes, price in the mid-range €150 in four people excluding tip Excellent proposal grilled salmon and mixed grill Good space between tables
