Perfect for family with picky teens!

By ChasingSun101 |

We walked to this restaurant from the hotel, in a safe area, with a large expansive dining room great for large families... they serve warm bread that is just delicious, plus great easy dishes they made the kids happy. The salads are huge, even for the small, and definitely perfect for 2 to 3 people to enjoy with the meal. Pizzas are also huge and quite tasty. Friendly helpful service, just an all-around winner. We went twice. We highly recommend!

Best Pizza in Philly

By DesignandTravelGuide |

Best Pizza in town. Home made rolls and dips. Friendly staff, even though we wanted to sit outside in the cold. The pizza was just delicious. Crisp bottom and lovely topping.

Pizza on the 4th

By Nancy S |

It's fun to try out your "old stand by" pizza toppings at different locations while on vacation. Pietro's was delicious! We picked the pizza up and took it to watch the fireworks at Penn's landing - perfect night.

Flavorful, Friendly and ‘fordable!

By COPhilly |

Consumers have so many choices of restaurants, but I continue to make Pietro’s a repeat stop. The arugula pizza is fresh and amazing. The pasta dishes are full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Their chicken and fish are always cooked just right and tender. The chocolate mousse is addictive! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is the place to go!

Perfect place for dinner!

By Theresa B |

We were a party of 10, with a reservation. We were seated promptly at a nice round table, and service was fast and efficient. We ordered several appetizers and pizzas which were all delicious. We had quite a pleasant time, and we'd definitely return!

Great Pizza

By Explore796204 |

You will not find a crust as good as here - almost tasted like Indian naan bread, but better - we had the sausage pizza and almost got a second one to take out.

Great Specials

By jwells3665 |

We were looking for an Italian restaurant near Rittenhouse Square where we were staying, and we liked the reviews Pietro's got on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. Pietro's is a fun, casual place that serves good food. There were several items on the menu I wanted to try, but our waiter recommended one particular entree on the specials menu - pasta with crab and shrimp in a scampi sauce. I'm so glad I went with his recommendation - it was delicious! The service was excellent, as were both our entrees. Portions are on the large side, and prices are reasonable.

Great Italian food, family style

By G8523SUpeterp |

Good food, served by great staff. Coal fired oven made for great crust on the pizza. Service attentive.

Looking for a quaint place to have a drink.

By Linda K |

After waling around Rittenhouse square, we were looking for a local spot to get a quick drink. This place was so inviting and had a beautiful bar. The servers were wonderful and helpful. The pizza was awesome. Very fresh and made with pride.

A great pizza!

Best Pasta Carbonara

By Marlene Y |

The BEST carbonara pasta I've had in a long time. Very very busy place so best to make reservations. I'm not sure I'll ever order anything else after the Carbonara, it was mouth watering.

Very accommodating for a large group. Excellent pizza and service.

By Jennifer H |

This restaurant was very accommodating to a group of 18 adults and teenagers on a very busy Friday night. We did have a reservation and were seated very promptly. Our waiter was a true professional and attentive to everyone’s needs. We worried that such a big group would overwhelm the kitchen and it did not. Everything came out at the same time and was delicious. The pizza is outstanding. Definitely shareable. We did not need to each order a medium size pizza. Fun and lively environment. I would definitely go back.

Pietro’ s pizza

By Xentix |

Roaming around the city looking for the best Christmas presents we bumped into one of the best pizza in Philadelphia, crunchy and balanced flavors together with a good beers selection

Great atmosphere and food - GF dishes too

By Dave E |

We stopped here for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon. We only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Loved the atmosphere. Food was good too. Lots of pizza options (but none were GF). They did offer gluten free pasta with some of the entrees.

Great Crust and a Nice Atmosphere

By 88FFG93OSU |

Pietro's has been here for a while. I remember eating here over 10 years ago and when I was back in Philly recently I thought I’d look it up as I was staying close and was wanting some pizza. Good as I remembered which can be hard with memory! Great crust (thin, crispy but not burnt) and a good sauce. Clean establishment with very attentive waitstaff. Give it a try!

Perfect evening, delicious food!

By Danny |

I went last November and I was amazed by this place. Great service and amazing pizza and pasta!! Definitely coming back and I recommend this place 100%!!

Perfect al fresco dinner

By Corey |

We got a table right outside and has such a delicious meal! We had appetizers of meatballs and bruschetta, both were so good! We then split two pizzas. The bread and pizza crust were amazing! Such a great, delicious outdoor dining experience!

Take out in Pena’s Landing

By R P |

Arrived late on a Friday night was desperate to feed the kids googled options close to our hotel in Penns Landing so called Pietro’s - food delivered exceeded our expectations - salad was amazing, pizzas were great - family happily feed. Mission Accomplished! Thanks Pietro

Great pizza!

By Iannone F |

We came here on advice from the front desk of our hotel. We ordered the homemade fried mozzarella. They were a bit pricey $13 for 6 squares of cheese. They were ok. They were rather undercooked I think. They weren’t piping hot and the cheese was nowhere near gooey. It was almost solid. Just warmed cheese. The pizza on the other hand was really really good. The wife and I truly found it amazing. The pepperoni was thick and had a nice kick to it. The crust had a great char to it. Tasted so delicious!

Large portions and great service!

By Alison L |

Sunday night the hubby and I felt like Italian. This restaurant does not disappoint. Large portions with plenty to take home for second meal. Our server kept our glasses full and service was attentive. The whole vibe was customer centered. The only negative is it is loud so don’t experience romantic conversation. All in all, we would definitely go back.

Great Italian fare

By Kozacek65 |

We went to Pietro’s on the recommendation of our concierge. It was a great refuge from the parties on the streets as it was St. Patrick’s Day. From the moment we walked in, the staff was so accommodating and quickly got us a table with plenty of space for our grandbaby. Emmanuel was our server and was very attentive to all of our needs. We had a pizza, spaghetti and meatballs and 2 salads. The portions were quite generous and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend.

After seeing this place being so busy at lunchtime .....just had to try it

By jerryr111 |

I tried it....and unfortunately it was just “okay” and when I found out it was associated with the Estia Restaurants it was even more surprising since Estia is my favorite in Philly. This didn’t live up to their reputation. “Just okay” with so many better pizza places so close doesn't win prizes. .....Probably won’t be coming back.

Great pizza and salads

By TMish2014 |

Convenient location in center city close to shops and hotels. Great pizza (my teenage son said it was his favorite ever) and nice atmosphere. Took family here before seeing holiday light shows.

What a pizza!

By Jonny Normann Olsen |

My wife and i ordered both pizza, and it was one of the best pizzas we have tasted. Amazingly well done! Plus for great service from our lovely waitress and for the interior from the restaurant. Higly recommends a visit here.

Damn good pizza!

By Mark N |

Ok, it's been around for 21 years and the pizza and service were phenom......home run!!! Will definitely remember to come here during our next visit to Philly.

NOT TAPAS / average taste

By Lois L |

Classic pizza / Italian place. It was quite crowded (good for them !!) but oooh so noisy....so much so I could barely hear the other couple we were with yet alone the server. Had never been before and checked out the menu on line. Was quite excited as they featured Tapas (small portions) for the appetizers. Drinks were ordered. Pasta Fazoul (?) was the soup offering and I asked for a cup.... Server said it was a small bowl. Ok. Everyone ordered and I ordered the soup and 2 appetizers presuming they were TAPAS. NOPE.... Regular bowl of soup and the orders were regular sized. VERY DISAPPOINTING !! I ordered fried calamari (a full plate came) and rice balls (should be 2 for a tapas...4 came !!) Needles to say most if it went home with me. Our friends got pizza and they said it was tasty. Average tasting.

A great family restaurant

By shelltravelstheworld |

This is our second time here during a visit to Philadelphia. We love this family friendly restaurant. The food is amazing and so is the service.

South Street Location

By Mercedes M |

Great food, atmosphere and service! The place feels like being on an antique Italian house. Decorated with family pictures and yummy Italian food, makes you feel at home. Cozy, clean and friendly; this is a place which adds elegance to South Street, Philadelphia. The food speaks by itself. Congratulations! A plus: The World Cup games are on TVs at a reasonable sound level :)

Great pizza!

By JenRob860 |

Went here with 10 others after the Army-Navy Football Game for a late dinner. The server was hopping but was able to keep us all organized - even did 4 separate checks with no fuss. Drinks were kept full, food came out fast and was delicious!

Pizza before show

By Dave B |

We've gone here twice before going to a show at the Kimmel center. Both times the food has been excellent and the service was outstanding.

Tasty Pizza

By Janet H |

We loved the Four Cheese Pizza. A very thin crust that was nice and crispy. Absolutely delicious! Convenient location.

Excellent salads that can feed 2-4, best Italian food

By marcopolopaloalto |

So glad they have takeout right now. I was a regular at Pietros on South Street, but during these special times glad to see the sister restaurant serving takeout. All the salads are quite special and large and 2 people could make a meal from one of the salads - eg, Caesar, Mista and Arrugula are my favorites. The margherita pizza their tasty tomato sauce also a favorite along with Eggplant Parmesan which includes a side of spaghetti and their Italian rolls are crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.

Fall break

By Heather D |

My husband and teenage son came here for dinner. The coal fired sausage pizza was great the 13” was enough for the three of us. The service was excellent and the speed of preparing the food was excellent. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Great pizza

By andrea12802017 |

They have really delicious coal oven pizza here. Fantastic location right on walnut next to Rittenhouse square. Service is always excellent.

Great dinner

By Bradley D |

My wife and I ate dinner there tonight. While checking out the menu outside a customer waiting for a table asked if we had been here before. He told us that he eats here every time he's in town. We put our name in and had to wait 90 minutes for a table. It was well worth it. The food was fantastic. Chicken parmigiana and a chicken and shrimp pasta dish with garlic and onion that was amazing.

A gem of an Italian restaurant...

By David-Kevin B |

Located on the 1700 block of Walnut Street is a gem of an Italian restaurant, Pietro's Coal Oven Pizza.  Although the entrance, which features sidewalk dining at a handful of tables, appears small, once you enter you will be surprised how large the space is and how far back it extends into the building which houses it.  The menu is extensive, features generous portions and the food can best be described as family style. The entrée portions are so generous in fact, it's not a bad idea to consider sharing them.  We make it a point to visit every time we are in Philadelphia and enjoy the casual atmosphere and very good service Pietro's provides.  Highly recommended is the fried calamari, perfectly seasoned and crispy.  The pasta puttanesca dishes are a knockout and the garlic bread is freshly made.  A word of caution, however.  The restaurant becomes very busy for dinner service so it's not a bad idea to visit just before 07:00pm on the weekends. #pietrositalian

Nice pizza restaurant

By Joske |

Friendly staff and quick service. Had a medium pizza, which for Europeans is a large pizza. Prices are a bit high. One glass of wine and medium pizza is 43 dollar excluding any gratitude. Pizza tasted well!

Great last minute booking

By billhelmke |

My family and I visited Philadelphia on Friday and after a day of sight seeing booked a last minute reservation for 4 about an hour before. The place was very busy for a Friday night as would be expected and we were all surprised with attentive staff and great food. We started with a Buratta Caprese salad and the fried cauliflower. Both of which were gone in a few minutes. The Chicken Villagio was excellent and I’m just sad that I’ll have to wait until I get back to Philly to try it again. My family had one gluten free Penne a la Vodka, one non gluten free, as well as a Ravioli special. Everyone loved their meal. Can’t wait to visit again, and would highly recommended to others. Pizza also looked excellent so would like to try that as well.

Great pizza and pasta

By kathrynsbran |

We were really impressed with the food portions, the variety and the service. We enjoyed a cheese and sausage pizza with a blush rigatoni pasta. Both were tasty and served hot. The crusty bread was a lovely addition. Great atmosphere.

Excellent casual dinner

By lastupendaboy |

Food was good enough,we met former students of ours there for a reunion...short rib pizza was good, the pastas were ok...the server, a young woman from Estonia,Albania? Was unpleasant, and brought a family sized salad instead of an individual one and argued about it...she said I can cancel a pasta but the salad is already made... canceled one pasta but got charged anyway...we had a great time but was expensive for what it was...and the server......not fun!

Busy Saturday evening but

By Cary S |

Busy Saturday evening but had a reservation and table was ready. Casual atmosphere and awesome pizza. Service was good. Would definitely go back.

Yummy pizza, welcoming atmosphere

By Katy6190 |

Ate at the Walnut St location with my family after running the Philadelphia Marathon. The pizza really hit the spot after those 26 miles. We shared the Sausage and Pietros pizza among our group. The sausage was excellent, but the Pietros we found to be a little bit too salty for our liking. We also had 2 appetizers to start: the octopus and the roasted vegetables. The octopus was probably the best I've ever eaten. It was cooked to perfection and was perfectly seasoned. The roasted veggies went over very well with those in our group who aren't fans of octopus. Pietros also has a great craft beer menu that we were happy to indulge in. Our server was attentive and friendly and we enjoyed the ambiance and decor of the restaurant in general. Would definitely recommend this spot to pizza lovers and food lovers alike!

great first visit

By alisontravel1 |

My family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) loved our dinner here last night. The service from the hostess to waitress to helpers was phenomenal. The burrata appetizer was delicious. We all had 4 very different pizzas and everyone loved their choice! fun place!

PROPPAPIZZA

By NEWRADICAL |

Best Pizza I've had in ages served with meatballs starters, filled with chees, so yummy, and octopus you have try that too, shared a hot pizza, which was expertly prepared, will definately come back to this joint, fabulous staff really looked after us, free Sambuca too! I think we entertained them...

Great food and service

By Ken_in_DC |

We had a lovely meal thanks to the friendly, helpful staff. Our starter and entrees were excellent; generous portions. Prices seemed reasonable for the neighborhood.

Very good pizza and pasta

By Stephen P |

We were in Philadelphia for a week and had two meals here. One night I headed out alone to have pizza which was very good. Two nights later two of us looked to have pasta and per the recommendation of our server had their lasagna. This was also very good. The restaurant is deceptively large and I thought a nice venue. A good place to go.

Good food, great service, a little bit pricey

By Chris M |

Had a small work gathering. Food was served very hot. However, appetizers came out the same time as the main orders. Could not enjoy everything. We did have a nice circular table which is great for conversation. Menu has a ton of choices and should have something to please everyone. Great location in the center of the city.

Thank you Pietro’s for a great Mothet’s Day Dinner

By rob |

In an effort to reduce the churn and chaos and have a chill Mothers Day at home we agreed to get take out from Pietro’s for dinner. It allowed us to focus on quality time and still have a great meal. Appetizers included Arugula Salad, perfectly fried calamari and delicious arrancini. For our entrees we had chicken liming with gemelli pasta, chicken parm and tagliatelle with a short rib ragu. Everyone was very happy. Highly recommend.

One of best pizzas we’ve had

By ZMAN3411 |

Loved the pietros pizza- lots of arugula and prosciutto. In a great spot in the city and lots of street parking nearby.

Great find....one of the best Manhattan Cocktail

By JD Naz |

I was attending a conference in PA and stumbled upon Pietro's in search for a quick bite...and maaaan am I glad I stopped in at Pietro's _ pizza was great ( had Pietro's pizza). I swear NY and NJ have the best pizza but add PA to the list as Pietro's does not disappoint. I sat at the bar and ordered pizza and beer. Then finished off with a Perfect Manhattan cocktail. Maaaaaan! Was it good? Kris, the bartender, made me a killer Perfect Manhattan and it was close to perfection. One of the best I've had (and I've travelled around and she makes one of the best). When I asked her secret to making perfect Manhattan she said '' she makes it with love.'' Not only was she an excellent bartender she was very personable too. Just an awesome place with an EXCELLENT bartender. Too bad I'm heading back to Jersey tomorrow but will certainly be coming back for pizza and more awesome Manhattan ...and perhaps another specialty cocktail. Highly recommend Pietro's. Cheers!

Family friendly pizza and Italian

By Sarah H |

We got in and out fast! All good things when you have a cranky toddler! The short rib pizza was delicious! Salads were large, fresh and delicious. And the prices were reasonable. We would definitely go back!

Must visit for great pizza in philly

By atulsubbiah |

Great pizza and friendly staff. Very relaxed time where we ended up spending almost 3 hours at lunch on an overcast afternoon in philly with family.

Ppizz

By Steven S |

Roasted cauliflower pizza was fabulous. Wings are wonderful. Thin well done crust and serves an individual size that really works. Good salads. Very clean and the service was quite friendly.

The Sausage pizza is to die for

By Blovesfood |

We stopped in for lunch on Friday. It was our first visit and we stopped in randomly as we were walking down Walnut Street and saw the menu which looked good. We had fried mozzarella which was delicious and The Sausage pizza with chicken sausage and spinach was great. Our waiter was very attentive and considerate. A+++

inviting atmosphere inside, sidewalk seating available

By Tom |

Good service, wide menu. I had chicken parmigiana that was very good, but then chicken parmigiana is chicken parmigiana, not all that tough to make! Service was very good.

Excellent Coal fired Pizza spot in the Center City area

By TIM B |

Took a group of 4 to this location within walking distance of our hotel. I am big pizza nerd and the three I brought had never had coal fired pizza. We were all very impressed with the service, selection, and great service. Tried the short rib meat pizza and hot spicy sausage pizzas, they were great and even better as leftovers in the hotel fridge.

Great pizza spot

By cjmstone100 |

Stopped in today for lunch with a party of 12 for business. Staff was exceptional, with prompt friendly service. Got the orders in and out came fresh made pizzas in no time. We had just about every one of their specialty pies. Every one was fantastic. Also had the Brussel sprouts and salad. Warning on the salad, it is huge, so be prepared to share, unless you are really hungry and love salad. We had a great time, would like to try again for dinner and see how the other meals are and test out the bartender...

The pizzas are the stars

By macorzo2016 |

Pietro’s is well known for its pizzas, but it also has a more extensive menu full of interesting possibilities. The restaurant is large and goes almost all the length from Walnut to St. James Street in a long narrow room. It has low light and at times can get very busy. The usual Italian fare is there, including the pastas, the salads and the sandwiches, particularly a chicken pesto which is quite savory. But the pizzas are the stars, with all the possible combinations of meats and vegetables, which allows the eater great creativity. Sadly anchovies are missing. But the crust is thin and flexible and the tomato sauce is real, as is the cheese

Great Pizza!

By Eric22645 |

Stopped in to Pietros to get our pizza fix and they did not disappoint. Service was great and the food was excellent. The four cheese pizza is to die for! Highly recommended!

Great pizza!

By Jason S |

Great pizza and nice atmosphere! Outside sidewalk dining was great for people watching and service was as good as any inside seating I have had! Pizza was thin and obviously hand stretched as it had slight variations in thickness. Pepperoni was excellent as was the cappicola. Highly recommend

WOW! What great pizza...

By Baz365 |

If pizza is delight this is your paradise. Really great pizza, authentic and copious in size. Very difficult to get one as good in Italy. Consider sharing. Highly recommended

Great food in safe space

By Wendy C |

Outdoor dining, great food and service, a lot of open reservations in Opentable on a busy Friday night in the city. Steps to Rittenhouse Square.

Excellent pizza

By Jeffrey H |

Missed a full 5 for the rating because the service is a bit spotty. Lucky for us we hit the sweet spot with regard to service and our experience was fine, but we had to observe some other tables and their frustration. We ate outside (with our puppy) and it was fun people watching in the late afternoon with perfect weather. We had a very reasonably priced bottle of prosecco and a large pizza with prosciutto and arugula. The pizza was done the way it's supposed to be done. No prefabrication here! Fresh ingredients and served piping hot. I wonder if they really use coal to fire the ovens, but clearly a brick oven high standard of quality.

Yum

By lilguy10 |

Good pizza, friendly atmosphere. Split a pizza( medium) and it was plenty for us. Very good flavor and at a affordable price !

Very impressed

By NJGIANTSFAN |

Visited on a Tuesday night around 8 pm with my wife and 4 year old daughter. We had a great experience all around They moved us to a quieter area as there was a loud group next to us Service was attentive but not overbearing. Wife had a salad with grilled chicken that was terrific and the pepperoni pizza that my daughter and I shared may have been one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Want to single out Amanda who was the hostess. She learned that they had run out of coloring books and that my daughter was kind of sad about that. She brought over crayons and paper and asked my daughter to draw her some pictures While this sounds like a little thing, Amanda saved the day. Little girl made an instant friend in Amanda who stopped over every so often to see how she was doing and made a huge fuss when the drawings were done. This was over and above and was really appreciated. We really appreciated the food , atmosphere and especially the service Thank you for listening Dave, Mindy and Avery

Fantastic meal

By Scott M |

I went for a late weekday lunch. It couldn't have gone better. My waiter was outstanding, friendly and helpful. The restaurant's whole team seemed to pitch in and help. The fried mozzarella and marinara were great, tasty and chewy and fresh. The Barese pizza was also great with a crispy firm crust and phenomenal toppings (sausage, pesto). Hope to go back many times.

Delicious pizza and great beers

By capatti55 |

Just a short walk from Rittenhouse Square, Pietro's is a great destination for interesting pizzas. Two couples enjoyed a few appetizers and and shared pizzas with plenty of left-overs to take home. Their beer selections were interesting and delicious.

Pretty Good, If . . .

By compozr |

If . . . you like this style of pizza and typical Italian-American fare. I've visited Pietro's a few times, most recently with a colleagues from a local non-profit board. It was a nice evening, and this time I tried a Mediterranean salad with shrimp that was quite good. Other members of my party enjoyed their various entrees as well, and the pumpkin cheesecake I had for dessert was a delight. My main objections to Pietro's are that the high ceilings and hard surfaces make the always-crowded restaurant rather loud, and the menu lacks sufficient options for those who don't want pizza or other typical pizzeria-type food (i.e. entrees that include the words "parmesan" or "marsala"). But the latter shouldn't be taken as a knock; Pietro's offers what they offer, and at a higher quality and classier setting than typical pizza joints. If you don't like their menu you should dine elsewhere. That's why I don't come here by preference (in my recent visit the restaurant was chosen by another member of our party). The bottom line is: if you like the menu, you'll probably enjoy your meal. The portions are ample, the food is good quality, and the service is fine. Even if it's not your "kind of place," you'll probably have a decent experience (as I did). And if you're bothered by noise (as I am), I'd suggest asking for a table in the back of the restaurant (up the stairs), or outside, if the weather permits.

Nice (fairly authentic) Italian pizza place

By Jalanne R |

The Margherita pizza was good (medium was plenty large enough for 2). The pizza crust is much like that of the pizzas in Italy, however the entirety of the pizza doesn't quite meet true Italian standards. This being said, the pizza here is about as close as you will probably get to an authentic Italian pie here in the states. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere but is very loud inside. During the busy dinner hours, it is almost difficult to hear each other. We had a waiter who had only been on the job for 2 weeks (so clearly still learning) and was a bit slow, however he did a nice job, was friendly, and made our experience a good one.

Good Pizza, A Bit Pricey

By MrB003 |

I've eaten a couple of times at Pietros, by myself and with a friend. I ordered simple pizza- w/ just couple of toppings. I get a small salad and a glass of wine. I really enjoy the pizza, however, the bill just seems high for a simple night out. The place is large with many tables; service is good.

Great Italian food

By Mattwic |

Meatballs, ravioli and pizza were all excellent. Great service and authentic food. Well recommended and would definitely return if ever in Philadelphia again.

Rude and unreasonavle mamager at front door

By Louis C |

Food was great. Service was great. Seated at the first table opposite the front door. Wind every time the door opened. People waiting to be seated standing over you. Asked to be moved to an empty table ( same size) away from the door. refused. We will not be back, nor will any of the Parents or Grandparents of UPENN students that we talk to.

Can't go wrong here

By nononesense |

We had our dinner here before leaving this great city. Got here at their peak hour, but got seated right away. We ordered a pizza and Linguini fra Diavolo Frutti di Mare. The pasta dish alone deserved a full 5 star for it was so good and loaded with so much seafood. No joke: I spent most of my time trying to eat up the gorgeous seafood and didn't have enough room to finish the pasta. The dish wasn't spicy, but the taste was very close to the Frutti de Mare we had in Cinque Terres in Italy. Very authentic. The meatballs and pepperoni pizza was great too. The crust was very good. Their prices were very reasonable as well. The service was adequate. Highly recommended.

Read many good reviews, so visited during the warm July 4th weekend. Arrived at 4pm, so seated promptly. Service was somewhat inattentive, considering that it wasn't crowded. My pizza (4 cheeses) was really good, but my wife's (vegan, with vegan cheese) was just OK. We'd return.

Front of House needs a lesson in customer service

By Sonny Life |

Pizza and a salad on a busy Saturday night. A lot of food provided for a large pizza and a small salad. The attitude of staff at the door really put us off and we were very close to leaving. The staff didn't look happy to be working and it's a little chaotic.

Dinner while traveling...

By McGilla |

Good Pizza, just ok service, very large, loud high volume place but somehow still quaint. Didn't seem to me that they (or maybe just the server) was used to dealing with dinners with nut allergies which made it a little unnerving while eating due to nut cross contamination concerns.

Easy beautiful spot for delicious Italian

By FamilyTravelers |

Fabulous pasta dishes and great prices in an otherwise expensive strip. Pietro's has been delicious and consist for years, and the restaurant remains beautiful and pretty huge. The gemelli arugula chicken and the rigatoni alla vodka will always be my two favorites

Decent food but just ok service

By Nancy G |

We came here with our friend and two small children. Our sangria to start was ok but way too much ice. My husband ordered the octopus, which he said was better than average. Our friend had the shrimp ravioli, which she seemed to like as well. One child had the pepperoni pizza, which looked good. The other had a child’s portion of penne bolognese. I wish the waitress, Irene, had offered him grated cheese. In fact, she never came by with cheese for anyone. My husband had the fettuccini carbonara. He thought it was just ok lacking the bacon . I had the Mediterranean salad which was ok. Very expensive prices by the way.

Best without alcohol.

By John C |

Had a delicious pizza — our first coal-fired one. It had a perfect crust, like the wood-fired pies we are accustomed to. Their Caesar salad was plenty to feed two, and then some. Beware of one thing: wine was priced usuriously — a bottle of rosé worth $10 cost over $50.

Nice atmosphere Good pizza, Prices were reasonable

By marrasan |

When we asked for a pizza place recommendation from the cashiers at Nordstroms, they said Pietros Pizza. They were right. Sat outside and enjoyed the evening

Good food, nice area of Philadelphia

By NewYorkTarmale |

We dined here in December 2017, a party of 6. We had reservations but for some reason the hostess told us we already sat down (?). Anyway, once that got resolved they sat us at a nice big table. Waitress was pleasant but kept forgetting things and we had to keep asking for them again and again. We were in town for the Christkindl market and the table next to us was there for their company Christmas party so it was very busy. When we finally did get our food it was good, not great but good. Warm, cozy atmosphere and in a nice part of town. We walked from the city center and it was about 1 mile.

Very good oizza

By TravellingWillbury |

Really enjoyed the thin crust build your own pizza and the calamari. Really good service and manager accommodated us before evening rush without a reservation. Will be back often.

Very good pizza and great beer selection

By Yoyo F |

We wanted a casual place to eat and we picked a great place. We had fried Calimari, salad and meatball pie. Calimari was good, not chewy and the meatball pizza was fantastic. The beer menu was great, so many craft beers from local breweries. I would definately go back. Service was polite and attentive.

Very Poor Service

By George O |

We came here on Friday night. I made reservations so that was not the problem. The waiter came to our table after we were waiting about 10 minutes and everything when down hill after that. Actually, he only took our order after we asked to order. He shrugged his shoulders and then proceeded to take our order. He acted like we were bothering him when we wanted to order $ never asked how everything was. Our appetizer came out with the pizza. We will never come back and I hope the waiter enjoyed his $3.00 tip .

Sunday Brunch

By Sam S |

Had some brunch here after church. I had the ham and spinach omelet and my SO had the cannoli stuffed french toast. The omelet was okay, would not get again, but the side of potatoes was good, and the french toast was delicious! Service and ambiance were quite nice. Will definitely return to try their pizza or pasta.

Good food, great bread! We ordered salad and pasta and it was good. Next time we might try pizza. Prices are average.

Nice suprise

By amyhass |

The cauliflower pizza is amazing! My husband loved his lasagna too! They have different sangria’s to try too. Service was excellent!

Good pizza, nice atmosphere

By BiggerJ |

This is a busy place! Open table booking was a great idea. Good food and beer, albeit at center city prices.

Plan to have leftovers!

By ShelleyG33 |

You can choose the fillings for a calzone beyond the basic sauce and mozzarella. I added fontina cheese, roasted peppers and chicken. It was delivered to the table oozing cheese and with just a touch of wood-fired blackening on the crust. I may have actually moaned aloud as I took my first bite. I might actually be drooling a bit right now remembering! It was to die for. But I could not quite finish half of the calzone. Everyone at my table took boxes of pizza or leftover calzones back to the hotel, thankful for in-room refrigerators!

Slick an efficient

By David M |

Recommeneded by our hotel and it was a good recommendation. A busy pizza restaurant with a fairly standard menu and basic varietal wine choices. It does exactly what it says on the tin! No huge pretence just excellent food at a reasonable price.

Great start to our two weeks in America

By David H |

Arriving a little travel weary at our hotel, it was great to find this quick, easy and very tasty pizzeria pretty much on your doorstep, and the opportunity to sit on the pavement and watch Philadelphia t night! Previous American holidays have finally taught us the wisdom of sharing meals, and their piccante pizza hit the spot. A great first meal.

Lunchtime

By tee0cee307 |

Love the lunch specials! Linguine and shrimp is awesome! Their flavoring is great! Pizza is also great and flavorful! Staff very friendly.

Good pizza but....

By benny63ralston |

After a 7 hour drive we arrived late to Philadelphia, we were hangry, a quick search on trip advisor and we were recommended to get to Pietro’s. Good pizza but....we arrived to the restaurant at 9:30 pm with only 30 minutes to spare before closing. The server looked a little upset by our late arrival and seemed uninterested in helping us. We quickly ordered drinks and ordered a pizza. It was delicious and worth the poor attitude from our sever.

Just okay

By soneill0918 |

We had 10 in our party for our annual Christmas in Philly. We were seated promptly. Waiter was very friendly. Varied menu. We had some appetizers that were OK. Ordered everything from pizza to salads to full meals. Nothing was terrible but neither was it good. It was just OK. The thing that really made my jaw drop was my granddaughters PLAIN pasta, and by plain I mean no butter, no sauce, no cheese, nothing. The charge was $9 for her 25 penne noodles. My other granddaughter had the penne with butter and hers cost $8! Totally outrageous price for.50 cents worth of pasta. Again, service was friendly and efficient. Wouldn’t in good conscience be able to recommend though.

Pizza place

By Yair9 |

Talking abaut slowww. A wake up call is in order... wake up your staff who ever comes sleepy send home to sleep. The place is 20% capacity and still 40 minutes wait for a pizza? DAHHH. Wake up buballe there are like 30 places near by that will let you disappear in a jiffy. By the way the quality of the food does not justify the wait.

Fab plave

By BritAbroadz |

We visited after a long afternoon of walking with some tired children and it was worth it. Our waitress was great, she improvised with a couple of drops of grenadine and normal lemonade when our daughter asked for pink lemonade but they didn't have any. The food was amazing and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. We didn't feel rushed and thought the meal was real value for money. Would go back!

Best Pizza!

By Janice K |

Well worth the walk to get to this place. Pizza was wonderful, drinks, too. Coal oven baked pizza. Go early!

Great choice!

By Sandy D |

A group of us tried a bunch of the specialty pizzas, all were delicious (very crispy crust throughout), especially the "piccante" (with spicy Italian ham). Highly recommended.

Great happy hour deal

By Jo-Ann C |

They have an awesome happy hour deal with great discounts at the bar. Just be careful they will sweet talk you into more than you planned and you end up spend more than you wanted to. A simple soda, mostly flat $3.75 too. The food though is delicious.

Always delicious!

By 18lee |

Delicious food excellent service! I had Mediterranean Salad which was fresh and yummy!!!! Daughter had shrimp and crab ravioli which was a special and hubby had short rib pizza which was amazing!!! Always a wonderful meal. Highly recommend!

Nice place, good pizza

By Edwin B |

The place does what it promisses. Service was very nice and pizza well prepared. Large portions, couldn't finish them. The front part of the restaurant is well decorated and terrace is nice as well. We enjoyed it.

Good pizza place

By nmjr11 |

This place can accommodate large groups and has very good pizza and salads. When it is nice, sitting outside is a plus.

Plainly pizza

By ang c |

Stopped here for a late evening dinner. The establishment’s temperature is very warm. We asked to be seated in a cooler area but our hostess ushered us to the back room near the ovens. We had to move as it was extremely hot there. The pizza was ok. A bit over-priced for portion and flavor. Not much more to say.

Good

By aut0bahn |

Pietro’s is centrally located near shops and Rittenhouse Square. The pizzas (even though little pricey) have great flavor. We had one with smoked mozzarella, prosciutto and arugula, really yummy. Service is fast and efficient. Great place if you are craving Italian.

Cold mussel made entire meal a hassle

By KyRoamer |

I gave the place a three star rating because everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were two adults and two grandchildren, age 9 and 11. We ordered a pizza for the kids and mussels and salads for the adults. The server said he would serve the pizza and the mussels first and then the salads. Rolls were served first. Then sugary drinks arrived. The rolls were hot and since the pizza was not yet there, we allowed the kids each a roll. The mussels arrived next. They were barely warm. Immediately after the mussels were served, both big salads arrived. The kids were still without pizza. By then they had finished their drinks and were asking for more. We stalled. We asked another server to find ours and sent the mussels back. The pizza finally came. By then we had given in and allowed a second sugary drink. To their credit they only drank half. The mussels returned. The heating was uneven but mostly a little hotter than warm. They were difficult to access on the crowded table. My wife ate about half, I stopped at two. The server offered to talk to the manager. The check reflected no credit. When questioned, the charge for the mussels were removed. So kids served last, they got bread and a second sugary drink, mussels were served cold, etc. I'd give the place two stars except we seem to be the exception. The place has a great menu. Prices while not cheap were fair. The setting was nice with indoor and outdoor seating. We won't go back. You might go and enjoy. As I said at the start, the crowd seemed to be having a good time.

Eating pizza

By Ivo P |

Best pizza in the US we've ever eaten. Tiramisu was awesome. Wine recommendation was also correct. Friendly and helpful staff.

Nice dinner

By Elisabeth E |

Friendly staff, fast serving. Good pizza, with nice size. Also had lasagna, tasted good and the portion was huuuge!

Good Pizza and Service

By ChrisOBB |

Had a reservation and taken to our table on time. This place was packed and it was loud. The waitress came over quickly and took our drink order and returned for the food order. She did a great job. Coal fired pizza was exceptional, pasta was good but not great. The cheesecake dessert was different and delicious. Overall a nice night out but turnaround was too quick. Ordered the food and it was there which some would like but we like to enjoy a bit of time when dining.

Great pizza!

By Smith_0626 |

The quality of food here was fantastic. Proper stone baked pizza that was full of flavour! The staff were friendly the atmosphere was chilled and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

Delicious!

By 18lee |

Hubby and I had moved our daughter to school and were looking for a nice sit down dinner not to fancy but yummy. We happened upon Pietro’s and decided to give it a try. Sure glad we did! Although it was busy we were seated right away. Waiter was pleasant and courteous. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. Everything sounded delicious! We settled on a pizza with sausage and a Mediterranean salad with shrimp. We were not disappointed. Both were plentiful and delicious! Pizza was done to perfection with the perfect blend of cheese and sausage with some arugula. The salad was fresh and crisp with just a light amount of dressing. Forgot to mention the delicious bread that was also served. Simply a delicious meal. We will be back.

Delicious chicken lemone

By M S |

The pizza was good, but the chicken lemone was amazing. So many appealing choices on the menu - glad I went for that but hope I can try some of the other dishes soon!

Our go to restaurant

By TheFoxNewYorkCity |

Our go to restaurant for wonderful pizza. You can tell the ingredients are fresh..Service is great and it seems to be a favorite of repeat customers...

Out of Lasagna

By Chris C |

It's in Center City Philadelphia. Parking is a pain. But it's worth it. It was an hour before closing when we went, so they were sold out of lasagna. Our server recommended The Bolognese, the same sauce they use on the lasagna. It was fantastic. Combine that with the fresh-baked rolls, olive oil dipping sauce, and a knowledgeable wait staff, and it made for a great evening with my wife and daughter. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs and my daughter had ravioli. Both of them were excellent and large enough portions to provide extra meals.

Pietro is serving good food

By Peter F |

If you crave good Italian food and pizza, go to Pietro' s. They are a casual styled place where you can eat and relax. The prices are moderate and the servers are friendly.

Good Pizza

By AHRESQ |

Good pizzas and pasta at this cavernous Rittenhouse Square pizzeria. The service was brisk, but professional and friendly. We enjoyed a Margherita pizza with prosciutto, and pasta carbonara. The pizza dough was excellent, and the pie had the right balance crunch to chew and a good ratio of sauce to cheese. The pasta tasty, but a bit overseasoned. They had an excellent selection of beers and wines to choose from.

Very good

By BigginsBoy |

Great food, nice location near Rittenhouse Sq. Staff friendly and prices ok. The pizza oven is the star of the show. Dish sizes are HUGE be warned - it’s almost impossible not to over-order. Only complaint is that the restaurant is noisy - but that did not spoil a nice supper.

Excellent

By Ashish K |

Fantastic food and service! Hidden gem, fabulous Italian food; right in the middle of everything. We sat at the bar and had our dinner there. The Risotto balls, gnocchi, and kale salad were outstanding.

Good Pizza, Good Location

By John Z |

Good Pizza, Good Location near Rittenhouse Square. On Walnut Street in Center City. Fair Prices and soda refills

Excellent Italian!

By hazellen |

We found both the salad, with beets, Gorgonzola, etc, and the pizza to be outstanding. We will surely go back next time we are in Philadelphia. Our only complaint is the noise level. The dining room was less than half full (most were eating outdoors) but the voices really carried, making it difficult for us to hear each other.

Great pizza!

By nishac_410 |

My 4 friends and I came to Pietro's for dinner the day before Memorial Day. We had spontaneously decided to go to Pietro's therefore we had no reservations or anything. Let me just say first, the hostesses were absolutely wonderful. They were kind and kept us up to date on how much longer we would have to wait until our table was ready (took 1.5 hours but worth it). We were starving, so as soon as we sat down we asked for bread. The bread was SO WARM and delicious. Honestly, we would've made a meal out of bread and oil if we could have. Anyways, we ordered with our eyes and stomachs and ordered a large pie of margherita pizza, veggie pizza, and a family plate of pasta. By the end of the first pizza, we were forcing ourselves to eat more because we realized maybe...just maybe we order a little too much especially with all the bread we just ate. The place was dimly lit and the space was small but really can't ask for much. The best city restaurants happen to be the ones that have no space apparently. Pietro's was pricey but only because we ordered way more than we should have. Would definitely recommend coming here at least once!

Great Food

By Traveling1994 |

Stopped in for lunch and had amazing hot rolls, risotto balls and lasagna. The marinara sauce is wonderful. Great service too.

Unfortunate

By Alan M |

Good food, awful service and accountability. Server entered order correctly, it came out of kitchen incorrect. Health issue kept me from eating the dish. The rest of the experience was disappearing server, long wait, disappearing server, mgmt unresponsive

Far beyond expectation!

By RogerNBill |

I can't remember having a better pizza. The crust was flavorful and thin and because of the way it was baked it was perfectly balanced between crispy and chewy. The sauce was perfection. Using fresh mozzarella makes all the difference in the world. It was almost like ricotta, but with more flavor. The capitol, black olives, onions and roasted peppers each stood out in their own way. I'm not sure how they made such a perfect pizza: something that blended together, yet allowed you to taste each ingredient. Wow. Just, wow!

GOOD

By HLGA |

We were going to go for lunch to this restaurant. On the website, I noticed the had a minimum wine list with only one unknown Chardonnay wine. I called the restaurant if I could bring my own bottle but I found the corkage fee very expensive. We decided to order take out The food was good and ready when I picked it up. Had the corkage fee been reasonable, we would have eaten in the restaurant. However, we would have had to be seated in front of the bar area since there are a few difficult steps to the main dining area which my wife would not have been able to handle.

Good pizza

By Christine S |

Made a reservation for a Sunday night, our 1st in Philly, although I don’t think it was really needed. The place is pretty large with indoor and outdoor tables. Service was friendly and the 2 of us shared a pretzel app and a pizza and it was plenty. The pizza was very good, not too thick or heavy. Can definitely recommend.

Late dinner while visiting the city

By Kelly V |

We were visiting the area for the first time and we wanted to find a place in the Rittenhouse Square area. After reading the reviews on TA we decided on Pietro's, it was something that all of us could agree on. This place was packed, we left our name with the host and strolled the area during our 45 minute wait. Our waitress was pleasant, yet very busy, but she made sure we were attended to. I really like the crust on the pizza, it had a nice chew to it with just the right amount of crispness. They offered entrees, though we didn't order any) and the portion seemed large. The atmosphere was nice with multilevel seating options and a bar area, it was however quite loud. I'm glad we found this spot and would stop in again if in the area.

Good pizza, nice ambiance on Walnut Street

By NittanyLion70 |

We booked the restaurant through Open Table. The outdoor seating was nice on a warm night in Philly. The waiter was attentive, refilling our water glasses, etc. we had the garden pizza. The cheese was tasty and the vegetables were fresh. Good time had by all.

Disappointed

By JoeDassin1 |

I was disappointed especially after reading the good reviews here. The pasta with chicken I ordered were truly tasteless and very watery. The restaurant also had the AC set very low and we were freezing during the whole time. The plus side was that the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was extremely fast, we were in and out in less then 30 min, almost felt like a fast food...

Excellent quality and service

By JEJaramillo |

I went there with a friend, she ordered the Neapolitan salad (or something with a similar name) and I ordered the Penne alla Vodka. But dishes were very generous in size and delicious. The host and the waiter were very nice as well.

How pizza should best

By Carol G |

Visited on Friday around 5pm and a table was available although all seats at the bar were taken. Shrimp starter to share was preceded by fresh soft bread with a delicious crust offered with infused olive oil. A good Italian friend always advised 2 toppings were sufficient on a pizza and the cheese with onion large fed us both with s small slice left. Service was excellent and we will return on out week break in the city.

Dinner with friends

By Maggie671 |

The menu had plenty of options. The food was the best Italian and pizza ever had. Atmosphere was perfect for a cool spring night.

Our go to Restaurant

Our aughter goes to school in Philly. We have visited her often over the 4 years. Pietro'sis our go to restaurant. Always a good meal . Great service. Highly recommend

Quant and Delicious

By MLB |

Quaint and not fussy but with incredible food. Pizza crust is the best I’ve ever had. Salads were wonderful and easily able to split. All ingredients were fresh and elevated.

Great Crispy Pizza

By Doug B |

We took the kids here and they loved it. They demolished their pasta, and I really enjoyed the pizza. If anything, perhaps the four-cheese mix was a little too rich for my taste, because I couldn't quite finish a medium pizza. We all left happy and would go back in a flash.

Fantastic!

By Sophia B |

I went here with my parents and we got a salad to share and then for entrees, a large pizza and a small pasta. The portions were huge! Plenty of food for the three of us to share, plus extra. Our service was great with a very friendly and helpful server. I highly recommend stopping here. It’s a very large menu with many dishes for anybody’s tastes, allergies, or dietary needs. It’s much larger on the inside too. (It looks tiny on the outside). We made a reservation and got in right away so I’m not sure how it would be to just walk off the street.

Great pizza

By Stephen D |

Very good service and atmosphere robust, but the pizza is the star here. Thin crusted and just the right amount of crispness.

Average

By Trail788886 |

Mixed bag. Eggplant parmigiana was terrible. Thick and hard. Not a fan of the tomato sauce on any of the food. My son enjoyed the pizza.

We loved the pizza!

By Kevin V |

Dined here on a recent weekend trip to Philly. Great location in Rittenhouse Square. Nice inside although on the noisy side. Service was great throughout the meal. We started with the crispy cauliflowers (awesome), then moved on to a Barese specialty pizza (really good- especially the crust). Also tried the fettuccine pasta dish which was good. Prices are on the higher side for pizza. We would recommend.

Closest Thing To Lombardi’s I’ve Found

By John S |

We took our son here so he could try pizza made in a coal fired oven and Pietro’s didn’t disappoint. After 9-11 a friend and I tried Lombardi’s in NYC and I thought it was the best pizza I had ever had so when I saw this I knew we had to try. I’m glad we did and our son was impressed as well. Great pizza.

Not worth it

By PAL299 |

I’ve dined here more than once and found the food was just average and the atmosphere was a combination bar & cafeteria ... loud and efficient rather than warm and inviting. There are plenty of other options in Philly, don’t bother.

Nice

By Chris M |

We had lunch here on a Sunday late afternoon. The food was delicious. Brick oven pizza very good. Server was excellent.Cocktails were good. Prices moderate. Following our meal we had a very nice time around Rittenhouse Square. This is a very relaxing place to have a nice meal with day and friends.

Excellent

By Shannon K |

Excellent food, drinks, and service! Great full menu and the pizza is fantastic! We were able to walk right in and be seated without a reservation which is always a plus!

Nice pizza

By Foxeee |

This is a very big restaurant although it was quite empty at 8 O clock on a Saturday evening. The service was attentive although not super helpful. The pizza was nice but expensive.

Outstanding

By John C |

What a place for pizza. On our second visit we had an experience than our first time. Really efficient staff and top quality food. The pizza are fresh and full of flavour. The base is crispy and light. Perfection

Ok pizza place

By Zblondchef |

We went here for my husband’s birthday dinner. I gave 3/5 for a few reasons. It was about 80* in the restaurant, not sure what was going on the day we went. Second we thought the pizza was ok, quite pricey if you decide to have anything other than cheese on it too. The linguini cielo was really tasty other than there were only 2 pieces of shrimp in it. The calamari was really good too.

Great Pizza

By Charlie2lucky |

First night in Philadelphia started off with great food. The MORTADELLA pizza was absolutely amazing. The salads were huge but very good. It would probably be best to split one for two people. If you love pizza, you should definitely give this place a try.

Disappointed

By jtmpIII |

Looking forward to a real Philadelphia pizzeria. Great staff and dining room. We all found the crust to be more of a burnt and hard crusty taste.

Yum

By Smurf52 |

That was an excellent pizza. The service was attentive and friendly. And I had no problems with noise. A great experience with the benefit of filling that Philly pizza craving.

Excellent pasta

By Stephgourmet |

We had a very good family dinner at this restaurant within the lovely area of Rittenhouse square. Great pasta, fettuccini carbonara or spaghetti meatballs were perfectly cooked. Glass of red wine and espresso were above average even if the choice of red wine was rather limited surprisingly. All beers on draft were not available unfortunately the day of our dinner. But overall a very good option for a lovely family dinner in Philly.

Great Food and Service -- A local recommended we try Pietro's

By Steve L |

This is not your basic Pizzeria although we are told the Pizza is great. The appetizer Calamari . Our entree was Crab Ravioli with Shrimp served with a Blush Sauce and the seasonal dessert was Pumpkin Cheesecake. The service was excellent and the food was some of the best in Philly .

Good pizza poor service

By Floris_71 |

Pietro‘s pizza is nice because it’s spacious and the food is quite good! We ordered two large pizza’a for 4 and it was more than enough. The service however was very poor. The lady serving us was trying to get us out as soon as possible! She probably had a bad day because she was quite grumpy and didn’t make any effort to make us feel at home. I guess however we just had bad luck!

It's like coming home

By Marie N |

we have loved Pietros since they opened/ eating lunch or dinner is a must/ it's a given/ goes without saying/ when we're at Rittenhouse square In Phila❤️ The service is excellent/as good as the special treatment when we're in Italy/ The bread- oh my- the best anywhere- warm and delish! The calamari app is legandary! We order the large fresh mozzarella with Bermuda onions- mushrooms extra Roma tomatoes-heavenly tomato sauce- all the dishes are memorable- fresh- did I say fresh? Always a delight! And with a smile!!!

Lovely little sidewalk dining/drinking area.

By BarbJG |

Stopped for cocktails and had a very pleasant afternoon. Had several glasses of wine between the four of us. Great location in the shopping area of Rittenhouse Square. Could sip on some wine then go to a store for a quick look/buy, and come back to table and rejoin the others. Service very nice and attentive. Tried the roasted vegetable (w/ cheese) appetizer. Veg. nicely roasted, very much enjoyed. Bruschetta also good but I liked the roasted veg. better.

Food OK, service terrible

By travelbelle88 |

Food was good, but service was terrible. Maybe they can’t get well-trained staff in this period of recovery from COVID. My beverage was brought in a bottle, no glass. I had to request multiple times to finally get a glass. When 3 entrees were brought out, mine was forgotten- it took requests to have it served, much later. My request for dressing on the side was not followed, suggested by the server, was not followed- it came lightly dressed…with the WRONG DRESSING. Had to request the right dressing. Not sure I would come here again.

Great food and service

By Beverly S |

We try to eat at Pietro’s whenever we visit Philly. We booked on Open Table as it gets quite busy on weekends. Atmosphere is pleasant, staff is attentive, and most important the food is consistently delicious. This time we had pasta fagioli soup, special salad with kale and shaved brussel sprouts and fettuccini carbonara. Tiramisu for dessert. Many specialities to choose from. Will keep going back!

Great Pizza and Raviolli

By Joe P |

Went to Coal Oven Pizza. Different style fro NYC but still pretty darn good. Wonderful meatballs and pepperoni on the pie, and dough and crust to die for. The raviolli were also topnotch, but maybe not homemade. Good service great food and a coal oven. Just wonderful.

So good!

By Corbaez |

This place is a great find located very close to Rittenhouse Square. Food was great and service! We had a delicious short rib pizza and the best prosciutto sandwich we have ever had. Definitely recommend trying this place out if you’re in the area!

First night in Philly

By Abbie W |

We stopped for dinner here for dinner the night we arrived into Philadelphia after a recommendation from local friends. We were jet lagged, tired and hungry. The restaurant was around the corner from our apartment in Rittenhouse Square. The restaurant was busy and a lot bigger than it looked from the outside. We were greeted warmly. The menu was plentiful and we order 3 medium pizzas to share between the four of us. They were huge! We would have been fine with just two. They tasted amazing so we boxed up the left overs and took them with us for snacks. Great restaurant highly recommend.

Excellent restaurant with Italian cuisine

By Giula82 |

Quiet, well-kept, clean, with friendly and helpful staff. The food is great, nice and plentiful with absolutely correct prices. Absolutely recommended

A proper “family Italian”

By Fussy foodie |

If you like a proper family-style Italian, instead of a chain, this is your place in Philly. We had a booking and were seating promptly but other people were being turned away in the meantime. We had the most amazing pizzas for a long long time. The crust was so fluffy, I thought we were back in Italy again. I was only tasting some of the kids’ pizza’s but couldn’t help myself Our mains of chicken parmigiana and chicken with mushroom risotto were superb, and the wine list was very good with a number of Italian and American varieties. Without doubt, this was the nicest Italian restaurant we have dined in for many years, outside of the native Italians of the homeland of course 😝 Great work guys 👏👏👏👏

Noisy restaurant

By Ellen_Merete_Lund |

We went here because of reviews made by others. However, nobody mentions the noise, which made it next to impossible to talk. The waitress was vey quick and helpful, but the food was not as expected. The cooks could do with a month or more in Italy to learn who to cook Italian. Our starters were the best. I got bruschetta and although a grilled pepper had sneaked in, it was okay. If the had chosen a better quality of bread, then it could have been better. My husband got the grilled vegetables and he thought they were the best. As a main course, I got the Cesar salat with the addition of chicken and my husband got the Eggplant Parmesan. Again, my salat was okay, but the Eggplant was a disaster. The eggplant was covered in bread, hence you could not taste the eggplant, only the bread crusting. And…. The pasta was not homemade/fresh. In all fairness, the menu d’identité say it was homemade, but you would expect this at an Italian restaurant. Maybe we should have chosen a pizza… but we will never know, for we will not be a return customer.

Always rock solid

By 771Chris |

Have been coming here for years. Food and service are always way above average. I personally think Pietro’s has the best pizza in town but I know others may take exception to that. Suffice to say it’s very good. Also very good salads and pasta (can get them as single servings or family size). Have been here for business, as a couple, and with the family. Never get any pushback when I suggest it.

Cheese pizza and Mediterranean Salad

By livinginPA |

Salad was delicious. Pizza was good.. although if ovens were on longer I think we would have had better/crisper crust. Service good. Nice atmosphere.
