Every time I've been to Pike Place Chowder I have not been disappointed. The food is always yummy- I get the vegan lime and coconut chowder but my boyfriend gets the New England chowder and my friend got the fresh bisque and they loved theirs as well-, the service is quick, and the employees are thoughtful. My boyfriend had bought me a bouquet at Pike Place Market and the cashier offered me a cup to put them in so they didn't drip on me. The only caveat is they have very limited seating but the food definitely makes up for it! I like taking mine to-go to eat overlooking the ferris wheel and water at the Pike Place Market dining area.

My daughter and I shared the 4 chowder sampler and very much enjoyed trying and comparing the various chowders. Note: it is a very busy place with very limited seating and nowhere to carry your food to eat elsewhere near by. Try to come at a lesser busy time or plan to do carry out and eat away from the market.

Skip the long line and order online, pick up inside 2 minutes later, and take it to a park a couple of blocks away to eat. The chowder was incredible. Some of the clams were almost as big as the spoon. My husband asked if we could go back for dinner that night, but we didn't.

Absolutely the best chowder I have had! So much clam meat with rich broth. The usual potatoes etc, but clams abound! The setting is not at all inviting, a pickup window. Don’t let this keep you from trying this amazing chowder!

Lived up to the hype. Purchased chowder sampler which included New England Clam, Smoked Salmon, Crab & Oyster, Seared Scallop, & a market choice. All were delicious, in fact, hard to pick a favorite. Came with sourdough rolls, butter, oyster crackers. Hot, fresh, tasty, comforting; everything u want in a soup. My only complaint, the ridiculous lack of seating. The establishment is the size of my garage. It’s stressful to be holding a tray of soup in tight surroundings, stuck like a “bull in a China shop” volleying for a seat. Absurd that a market which serves 50x the volume of people & a tourist population has less seating than my local farmers market. Pretty sure this business can afford to expand their footprint & market can covert some dead space into a few more tables and chairs.

It was a bit tough for me to figure out how to order but I finally figured out you can just order this online and pick it up in a few minutes. I ordered the chowdah to try and it was very good. It was the best chowdah I’ve ever had to date! Highly recommended

It was the best clam chowder we have ever had. Be prepared for an extended wait to get in to get you chowder but it is worth every minute of it. If your lucky you may get a table but otherwise you can continue to search Pike Place market while you eat. Location is in the ally just east of the main road thru the market. Do not miss this place! High end fine dining restaurants should try and get this chowder on their menu because it is so much better then anything we have had at those type of resataurants. Once you have eaten here no other chowder will compare!

Worth the wait! Line moves fast, seating can be iffy. Try going inside the “mall” they have indoor seating. Ordered the 8 pack of 5oz for $30. Seafood bisque and smoked salmon chowder were out of this world!! I come her every time im in Seattle.

Pike Place Chowder has won many first-place awards over the years for their chowder, so of course, many people stand in line to order chowder. And, it’s worth it. We tried the New England Chowder and were not disappointed. Absolutely delicious, and we’ve tasted many chowders in Maine and Mass. We passed on the crab or lobster rolls because we thought they were way overpriced and not that large.

My husband and I chose the 4 chowder sampler platter. Each one was delicious. It was rainy, but we found an open table outside under an umbrella, and it was fine. The hot chowders hit the spot!

The soup is very rich touched me on a day without a row and I could eat on site I loved it, it's in the alley there are bathrooms a few steps and clean

We ordered chowder while having lunch in the Market. Using the online takeout function is best since the line at the restaurant is normally very long and there are only a few tables. I ordered via UberEats, which was very simple and notified me when our order was ready. The distribution is very efficient. The chowder is outstanding. I had the sampler, which includes 4 cups. All of them were great. We highly recommend.

Definitely worth the hype. We had a Connecticut Crab roll and a sampler of 4 chowders. All of it was EXCELLENT. Highly recommend the sampler. Great way to try their selection.

Our first taste of this clam chowder was on a foodie tour. We were so impressed that we ordered this for take out. This soup has been declared the number one chowder in Seattle. Order it online for pick up and you won’t wait in line. With Seattle’s crisp and cool temperatures, this soup hits the spot.

Waited forty minutes in a line that snaked down the alley. Amazing chowder - tried four with the sampler and loved them al! Best of our trip!!

There was a bit of a line when we went and the inside was crowded but we decided to wait since we’ve heard nothing but good reviews. Well, it was certainly worth the wait! We got the sampler to try a little bit of everything and it was all very good. Being from MA we weren’t sure how good NE Clam Chowder could possibly be outside of new england, but WOW it was up there with some of the best! The seared scallop and smoked salmon were also very good. Side note: the staff was great!! We realized we left our backpack at the counter and walked over when we went to pick up our rental, it was closed but one of their staff members that was getting ready noticed us and was able to get the bag to us! Super appreciative of that as our camera was in it!

My wife and I were visiting Seattle and, of course, had to drop by Pike Place. We were not familiar with Pike Place Chowder beforehand but read some reviews and decided to have lunch there. The wait is about 45 minutes, and then you're not guaranteed a seat...however...this place is definitely worth the wait and the inconvenience (although we were able to find a seat). I had a sampler of New England and Manhattan and I would have to give the edge to their New England, but the Manhattan is as good as any I've ever had. Bottom line, if you're visiting Pike Place and like clam chowder, this is a must.

This spot is great for a casual lunch. My colleagues and I went for lunch and got the chowder sampler with 4 choices (6oz. each). The chowder sampler was delicious and came with bread and crackers. The staff was polite and patient. The restaurant is small and the seating is packed in, but this just adds to the ambiance. Definitely a need to visit!

Read mixed reviews and with current exchange rates from UK it was expensive, so nearly didn't go. However we decided to and so glad we did. We got there at 10.45 so we didn't have to queue. We went for the 4 soup sampler, which I would recommend. Would go back if I ever went back to Seattle.

I tasted this during a food tour and had to go back for more. Even though the line is extremely long it goes very fast. This is one of the best clam chowders I ever tasted. If I could bring it home on the plane I would. If you get a chance to be in the area I would highly recommend stopping by and tasting it yourself. Don't bother with any other than Pike Place Chowder.

In a word TOO SALTY. Had been looking forward to trying their Manhattan Chowder and when we finally did, though flavorful it was disappointingly too salty (and even the bread, unfortunately). I would give five stars to the historic Pike Place ambiance, the speed of service and friendliness of the staff.........but too much salt for a highly rated historic "best chowder in Seattle" label, this is unforgivable. Hope they read this and hold the salt in the future.

Since visiting San Francisco, we have become chowder snobs, but Pike Place Chowder was fantatic. We actually ended up going there two days in a row for lunch , trying a few different kinds of chower (the basic clam chowder was our favorite). Want a tip? Order online, and skip the GIANT line that everyone else waits in. You're welcome! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60878-d6579685-r818230672-Pike_Place_Chowder-Seattle_Washington.html#

We’ve been to chowder competitions over the years. They’ve been great to taste each companies chowder. It’s even better to taste the the persons who wins first place. However you only get a very small sample. I know sampling 10 + chowders can be a be a bit much. But when you find one you really love and you can’t get enough of it, but a thimble size, you leave wanting more! This company has won many many 1st place finishes in chowder competitions. Well not here at the Pike Place Chowder. You can get as much as you want from a decent sized sampler to 1 quart. I went with the 16 oz for myself and didn’t need to have dinner later that day. They have all types of chowders… the service was great.. I got mine to go and they gave me a great carry bag, spoon etc. I had it in my hotel room…. It stayed warm/hot for at least 1/2 hour. I’ll be back!

I had some Seafood Bisque and a lobster roll. Huge pet peeve to have a lobster roll with only or mostly claw meat. But I guess I’m not in New England. The chowder was tasty, very rich. The line was long in the alley but overall, not totally disappointed.

So everyone says it, but I have to agree, BEST CLAM CHOWDER. Period. Location is great right next to the marketplace but off an alley so not as crowded. Make no mistake there is still a long line to order and sit down though. They have a strict no saving seats until you have your food in your hand rule, which I actually liked because there are so few seating areas, and by the time we got out food a space opened up so we sat down right away. AKA, the system seemed to work. There is an option to order online and pick up if you want to skip some of the line and not sit to eat. But again, the chowder was phenomenal, to the point that we had 2 quarts shipped home as a gift to a family member who couldn't be there with us - free overnight shipping!!

We read about this place and it was a must visit for a late lunch on our first day in Seattle. There was a long line with folks viewing the menu and waiting to get in but the line moved quickly. There aren't many tables and you can't seat yourself until after you order so I was a bit worried. They had a large variety of chowders to choose from but we picked the NE Clam Chowder. After ordering and receiving our food the two of us were seated at a four top. A couple was looking for a place to sit and eat and we invited them to join us. They were Red Sox fans as we are and were going to the game that evening so we had a great conversation. Everyone raved about their food. One person complimented that the baguette you receive with the chowder was better than the bread bowl. My friend said it was the best clam chowder she had ever eaten and we're from New England!!!

Confirming that they make the best Clam Chowder in the world. Every time I visit Seattle I don’t miss, it’s a must.

Great clam chowder, although pricey. Small serving $10 Large $13 Lines were super long at 11am on a Wed. @ the Pike Place Market store. We skipped going, and opted to visit the Pacific Place Market location that was close to our hotel. No wait time for the 3 times we passed by.

I enjoyed the food. It was very busy but worth the wait. People who works there was nice. Food was hot. They serve different sizes and different variations

This place was really easy to find. We walked Pike Place early before the rush. We waited outside for an hour before opening. I placed my order online for pickup at 11 am. The pickup area is separate from the restaurant. This was WAY easier than waiting in line. Lines were forming already 15-20 minutes before 11 am. I walked up to the pick up area and on the dot, a worker walked out with the 11 am orders. The only thing about ordering online is that you have to find outside seating on your own. Seats fill and leave pretty quickly so finding a seat isn't too difficult. Now the food: Super good. The New England clam chowder was rich and creamy, choc full of clams. I also got the sampler and it was the perfect amount to share. It came with 3 pieces of bread and saltines to dip. This place is the real deal. Definitely try it when you're at Pike Place.

Highly recommend eating some of this award winning chowder! Lots of options and we thought ours were absolutely delicious.

No frills venue for chowder & seafood rolls. The New England Clam Chowder is 9/10. One of best we’ve eaten anywhere in the USA. The Smoked Salmon Chowder 8/10. We didn’t really care for the pieces of sourdough bread or oyster crackers that came with the chowders. We did add pepper to our tasty chowders. Definitely worth queuing up for to see what all the hype is about. Staff were super friendly & without hesitation cleaned up an outside table for us to enjoy our chowders.

We stood in line for about 30 minutes to get the clam chowder and were lucky to get a seat at the bar after we ordered. It was worth the wait. We will get this chowder shipped to us in Ohio cause it's so good.

A lot of hype due to longevity and a never-ending line of tourists, but the seafood we hoped to get did not match what we got, the prices were pretty darned high, and due to MY inattention and feeling rushed, I greatly overpaid. First was the line that took roughly 30-40 minutes inching forward, but very similar to other well-known establishments (I thought those in line for 2 hours just to get a beverage at Starbucks were insane). Next, with printed menus in hand while in line, the actual ordering process was fairly quick and easy (think "Soup Nazi" on Seinfield). However, and this is a big however, electronic payment was easy except for the part where they present a screen asking how much you want to tip, which in my view and many years of experience is both insulting and unconscionable. Stand in line for 30+ minutes, move to counter, place order quickly, move to the left, pick up tray with food items, turn around to get napkins and utensils, find a seat if you can, and be asked to TIP 15-25%! MY error was in feeling rushed and (elderly, wearing bi-focal glasses) not seeing a "no tip" button. I threw away 8 bucks due on my part to not wanting to hold up the line. I am the one who should have gotten a tip from them. The seating there is practically non-existent but we grabbed a spot immediately when two persons exited at the same time. Would have been trapped there in an emergency, though. And now the highly-touted food: I've had every version of clam chowder from coast to coast (U.S.), even outside our borders, and in my opinion which would differ from others found their New England Clam Chowder only mediocre. My wife liked her smoked salmon chowder but vowed to never return because of the hassle. I also ordered a "bay shrimp roll" because it was the least expensive option. I just don't pay $35 or more for a sandwich. Honestly, the toasted brioche bun fell apart in my hand and the shrimp salad was absolutely tasteless, I mean zero taste. No sauce. I just could not finish it. I lived in that area for a few years, have been to Pike Place Market numerous times, and while I wish them well as people, I will never return. My best luck to you, too.

Doesn't seem like the line ever ends but it seems to go by fast. We went on a Thursday afternoon, and decided to just use their to go order window, which took less than 5 minutes to get our food. Not sure what the difference in service is but there didn't seem to be any (except for ordering from their app vs in person). I like that they give you the bread bowl and chowder separate, easier to take leftovers you don't finish. My mother and I got the New England clam chowder and we both enjoyed it. It's good chowder, but not the best I have ever had. The bread bowl was good. Prices were decent especially being right in the middle of pike place. Seating is limited.

We enjoyed the Coconut Lime and Seafood Chowder! It was delicious! Quick and friendly service! Definitely earned all their awards!

Get the 4-chowder sampler people!!! I can't wait to google the recipes! I knew ahead of time what to expect - a 20-person line, scare seating, etc., but I was there for the chowder, not for some kind of fine dining experience! But, I would honestly call this an EXCELLE NT dining experience - something to write home about! The quality of the chowders couldn't be better. It was $20 for the 4 sampler, but my husband and I shared and came away full. I wish I lived in Seattle, I'd go back and try the lobster roll on brioche Texas toast, as well as a few other things!!! The wait staff were nice too! You order at the counter, find a nice place to sit, and, enjoy! I have heard it is never not crowded, but if you go in knowing that, you'll be fine!

Trying the hot Crab roll was a bucket list dish for my son and me. This restaurant did not disappoint. The line was long to order and seating was hard to find (we ended up finding something inside near the shops.) The staff was pleasant and informative. It was 90 F so we didn't opt for the crowder but just a couple of Dungeness crab rolls. At >$36 before tax, we felt the amount of crab would be more substantial. But the flavors and the tenderness was amazing. We would highly recommend but warn people of the sticker shock for counter service.

New England Clam Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and a drink, $20. Fair enough I guess. There was a good amount of clam in the chowder and had good flavor. The sourdough bowl was almost okay. Is come back and try something else.

The clam chowder is awesome. This place stay busy all day long, but the line moves fast. We got the Clam Chowder and the Captains Roll. Both were very good and we will surely be going back on our next trip

Bad review! The restaurant does not allow customers to sit when there are empty seats. The waiter's attitude is very bad. No tableware is provided for food. The taste is terrible. The price is very expensive. I don't understand why there are so many people queuing. We had a very bad experience here. 差评!餐厅有空位时不允许顾客入座。服务员态度很差。吃饭不提供餐具。味道很糟糕。价格很贵。我不明白为什么有这么多人排队。我们在这里的经历非常糟糕。

I have always had mixed feelings about hyped food joints with its wall lined with 'awards' and long queue of tourists (of course that included me sometimes). But I was strolling along in the neighborhood maybe ten minutes after it opened, and the queue did not seem too intimidating (and it was moving relatively fast) so I decided to go for it. Wait was not that long (maybe 10 min) and I tried the 4 flavor sampler. Really luck to have a small corner table by myself (place was small and really crammed). Was the chowder good? Yes, it was pretty good, except for the vegetarian lime and coconut chowder (my choice - my mistake). Creamy and tasty. Was it the best in town? I doubt it, I have had nice and more nuanced chowder elsewhere in Seattle. It was not very expensive but overall it felt more like an excellent fast food outlet than a nice dining experience. Whether it is worth it or not depends ultimately on what you want - but I'd probably say give it a shot if the queue is not too long.

All I can say is try the flight so you can enjoy more types of chowder. We loved our sample of 4 -- which was 8 oz of each one. It was perfect for my husband and I to share. Although it's not on the online menu, you have to try the market special. That ended up being our favorite one. Suggestion: get there before 11 a.m. to avoid the crowd that instantly begins lining up at 10:45 a.m. Once you have your food, step across the walkway to get a table. Employees are good at monitoring the seating area to ensure only Pike Place Chowder customers sit there and to help customers find seating.

Went to the mall location. No wait. Clam chowder was good, but not amazing. Not quite sure what all the hype is about.

When planning a trip to Seattle, you are sure to come across the name Pike Place Chowder. Located in the heart of Pike Place Market area and serving up the creamiest and most delicious chowders. 8 varieties to choose from including a weekly special which on our visit was lobster, crab and shrimp. If you are stuck for which one to go for they do a great sampler option where you can get 4 smaller pots which equate to the size of one large pot, giving you the opportunity to try multiple options without over eating. Served with crunchy oyster biscuits and a slice of sourdough. You can opt to get your chowder served in a balled out bread roll which looked amazing, if I wasn’t wanting to try more than one I would’ve certainly picked this option. Would recommend anyone coming to Seattle to come here. Big queues move super quick and they have a system which seems to ensure you always get a seat once you’ve got your food.

This is the place to go for chowder. We tried 3 place on our short 3 day trip before the Alaskan cruise, and this was by far the best of all. We tasted the soup at the chefs tour and then went back for another taste later in the day!!!

My second time visiting Pikes Chowder. The first time I was impressed. This time crowded and the prices seemed high. They do offer a variety of samplers. I had the seafood chowder with the salmon. Later I found around the corner behind the fish and fruit stand where they make fresh seafood and chowder for a lot less. It all looked really good. They also had plenty of room to sit along a counter.

So good, my family of 4 had only the afternoon in Seattle so we headed to Pike Place Market and chose Pike Place Chowder for lunch. The sourdough bread bowl w/chowder and lobster rolls were so good! Little pricey but hey, we were on vacation.

One of the best things about the west coast is chowder in a bread bowl and this did not disappoint. We got bread bowls and also their sampler of eight different chowders. Clam chowder was still hands down our favorite. My only complaint is that we were really not sure which of the eight chowders we were eating. Some were obvious but there were some that we weren't sure about.

The chowder was great. The line circling everywhere was insane. Don’t expect to get a place to sit and enjoy your meal. Seating very very limited. I guess I would have enjoyed the time and effort being able to sit and partake in a more comfortable environment.

I don’t get it. Friends were in from out of town and wanted Pike Place Chowder. They insisted on it. I told them there’s good chowder all over town. Nope! They wanted Pike Place Chowder. Thus, we waited in a cattle line for 20 minutes and finally were allowed to order takeout. The salmon chowder was good, nothing special, and very expensive. We sat at a dirty wooden table without any charm. Again, I don’t get the popularity. I am not a crowd follower or have any need to fit in with the masses. I blaze my own path, something becoming rare in this era of social media conformity. I think the younger generations are missing out and allow themselves to be influenced by what the social order prescribes. It is very sad. Pike Place Chowder is not worth the crowds or wait.

Omg! It was that good!!! Creamy, flavorful, tasty clams (tender). It was a religious experience for this chowder fanatic’ Hint: use the app to order ahead (no wait in line)!!!

Really great chowder. Went to the PACIFIC PLACE spot. Great ambience. Very good! Quick and clean. Good bread! An enjoyable experience! Would go again!

Their 4-cup sampler was good; it came in multiple flavors with plenty of bread accompanying it. There was a long queue at lunch time, so we ordered online and got fast pickup in a few minutes. Then we went out on the terrace of the Public Market for an unhurried meal with a fine view of the water.

The chowder was excellent! We had the salmon chowder and seafood bisque in the bread bowl. The line wasn't too long but I assume it would be longer at other times. Serve was quick and easy.

We had the flight of Chowders. Seafood Bisque(10/10) Market Chowder(10/10) Lime & Coconut(6/10) Seared Scallop(10/10 We were about 8th in line when it opened. Served quickly and it came hot with fresh bread and oyster crackers. Just felt like that lime one tasted almost like Curry Other than that👍👍

We came here for lunch on our way driving to Vancouver. It’s extremely difficult to find parking. Initially following map guide, we got trapped in a high foot traffic touristy area. Walked here after parking far away. The wait wasn’t too bad. Menu offered only various versions of chowders. We serendipitously found a table in the packed tiny eatery after picking up our order of bread bowl with New England clam chowder soup. The hot chowder was perfect in taste and texture. Hit the spot, and well worth the wait.

I grew up eating some really, really great clam chowder... and after eating it in restaurants all over the country I came to the option that my Dad's was the best UNTIL visiting Seattle... This is chowder is worthy the long lines. YIKES- I am starting to drool just thinking about it!

Pike Place Chowder is one of the foods you shouldn’t miss in the Peak Market, especially known for its New England sauce. The juice taste is very intense and smooth, each serving can taste fresh and sweet, combined with potatoes and cream perfectly fuses, reminiscent. Although the site often grows in rows, you can avoid long-lasting annoyances through the app. In addition to hydrogen soup, they also have a number of seafood soups such as shark, oysters, dried beets, each of which is distinct and tasteful. The soups in this shop not only taste great, but also have sufficient portions, which is very suitable as a warm food in cold weather. I recommend Pike Place Chowder, which tastes more pure and fresh, compared to similar restaurants in San Francisco. If you’re traveling to Seattle, this soup is definitely one of your must-drink lists to let you feel the beauty and intensity of the ocean.

If you have the time and don’t mind a bit of a wait the chowder is really delicious. We got lucky with a bit of a short line and I tried the salmon, oyster and chorizo chowder that was fantastic. There is limited seating so I’d have a plan to patiently wait for a table or take your chowder to go and you can eat it down at the park at the end of Pike Place Market - assuming it’s not raining.

I actually ate at the Pike Place Chowder in the Pacific Place Mall just a few blocks away. It was still busy, still delicious, but without all the wait. There was ample seating, great sourdough, and delicious chowder available at the ready.

This chowder is so very good. The man who established the place won all sorts of first place chowder cook offs, and I will attest to the delicious bowl I had. This is a must.

This place is located in Pike Place Market and is reasonably priced. I had the sampler of four chowders including the Manhattan, New England, Cajun, and Scallop. All were very good and came with bread for dunking. This is a popular place so don’t let the long lines change your mind, they are very organized and the line moves quickly. If you like chowder, this is the place for you.

I waited months for the lobster roll and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The line was long as expected, but an employee said we could order online and it was ready in 5 minutes! We took it and found a spot in the sun to eat it and it was the best start to our day exploring Seattle!

We ordered online then took our “grab and go” to the overlook of the water and sat down to eat. Great afternoon experience. The salmon chowder was unique to Seattle and delicious. However, the New England clam chowder was amazing. Not sure if I would wait in a long line but the “grab and go” took us 5 minutes to get our food.

Visited in July during my family reunion. There was not enough seating so we used online ordering. It was fast and the lobster roll was perfect.

Spectacular. I loved the creaminess and the option to order a sampling of 4 or 8 chowders. Definitely the first place I’ll stop to eat on my next visit to Seattle.

Try anything, but try something. You won't be disappointed. I had the seafood bisque, comes with a piece of sourdough , just perfect for a light lunch while watching the sights that surround the marketplace

I found this little hole in the wall restaurant at the market. Everyone was ordering the chowder and so did I. That was so damn good. Holy moly ordered another one just for the road love that place.

The chowder was great! Do yourself a favor, order online for pickup so you can skip the loooong line!

The chowder sampler at Pike Place Chowder was a great welcome to Seattle. The outdoor seating was welcome on a warm spring day.

Very good chowder! We got it to go and reheated it at home and it was delicious. Wait wasn't long and they have a small seating area.

If you like clam chowder, you’ll love this place. 4 varieties of chowder, best Manhattan chowder I’ve had. Quick service.

Stopped here on a tour. I normally don't like clam chowder. This best chowder I have ever eaten. I ate the vegan one and I can see why they won so many awards.

The best clam chowder ever! You have to get some during your visit. Ask for the sourdough bread bowl. You won’t be disappointed! Staff was friendly and very helpful despite being super busy.

Excellent chowder but be prepared for a wait. The line moves pretty quickly so know ahead of time what you want. The only drawback is seating. The place is small but there's an extra eating space next to it but its cramped. You can only sit there once you have your meal; no saving tables ahead of time. New England Clam chowder -sourdough bread bowl $15.95; Seared scallop -medium 12 oz $ 10.75 and 12 oz New England Clam chowder $ 10.75; these include a small piece of bread. $ 37.45 before tax. We weren't asked if we wanted any drinks so we bought bottled water in another shop.

They close at 5 p.m. on the button. So we missed out having a take out dinner there while staying at the Inn at the Market. But, the next day we did stop in for take out lunch. I have to say the amount of clams in the large serving was over the top. And not heavily loaded with potatoes (a filler for clam chowder). There are also other chowder options too.

Great spot for chowder on a cold, drizzly day. There was a long line at the order counter, but it moved quickly. Being in a small space, there were very few tables, but they turned over fast so we didn't have a problem finding a seat. Highly recommend!

Tucked away in a small plastic table topped cafe this cafe is very popular with a lineup rope to line up behind during peak hours. We noted they have won many awards but nothing is advertised past 2019. The selection of chowders is excellent if you like fish. and seafood. All chowder ingredients are advertised, which is excellent as several contain pork, which I don’t eat. I opted for the daily special which was lobster, crab and shrimp. The taste was great but I would have enjoyed more if it had Tabasco sauce added. Spouse had lime and coconut vegan chowder, only vegan on menu which he described as delicious. We both opted to have our chowder in bread bowls but found we were full and didn’t eat the bowl so probably should have had in the cardboard bowl. The place was busy but as it was soon closing there was sitting room available. Worth trying if you are in Seattle.

The most amazing chowder. Had to get it at least once while I was in town. Fast service and amazing staff. Looking forward to another visit.

We had a medium bowl (12oz) of New England Clam Chowder and a medium bowl of Seared Scallops Chowder. We got there at 4.20pm on Labor Day and there was a queue. Soon after a member of staff came down the line and said that the indoor seating area was closed from 4.30pm so we'd likely have to do a takeaway only. Since we only got to the counter at 4.35pm this was indeed the case. This seemed very early to close when there were so many people around on a holiday. We found a spot near the ocean to sit. The chowder was very nice but not the best ever. We'd had clam chowder at Anthony's Fish restaurant in Bellingham a week earlier which was probably the best chowder we've ever had. It was great having the choice of varieties at Pike Place Chowder. At $10.75 plus tax for a cardboard container and no seat we thought it was very expensive. I suspect it keeps going for it's novelty value much the same as 'mothership Starbucks' around the corner which had the most enormous queue for no good reason other than it was the first location for them.

We had a sample of the lime and coconut chowder while on a food tour. It was delicious. The next time we are there we want to try the seared scallop chowder which is supposed to be quite good.

What a fun touristy place. The chowder was amazing. I got the sampler so I could try it all. I highly recommend it as a place to get 6oz samplers and share. The lemonade was also great.

Just slipped out of the magnetic pull of Emerald City, where I had wrapped up a wonderful meeting with one of our Sealy Sofa customers... You see, I had long held this desire, like a distant siren's call, to dive into the legendary Pike Place Chowder. Some had whispered tales of its 'tourist trap' allure, so, I ventured with a hint of skepticism and tons of anticipation. Having shacked up downtown on this particular voyage, I found myself inevitably meandering to the buzzing marketplace. The first thing that hit me, apart from the intoxicating aromas that seemed to cling to the very air? It's an assembly line of flavors. Vats of divine concoctions, served with gusto via paddle. The long snake of a queue, meandering for what seemed miles under the sweltering 33-35°C of Seattle's freak heat wave, had me thinking – this better be worth the perspiration. And as I sampled their offerings, my God, was it ever! A sampler platter was my poison - four 6 oz chowders paired with an infinite supply of sourdough, enough to satiate two starving souls. Tip: drag a mate along, it's too good to hog solo. I wolfed it down, a salve to the abominable gastronomic atrocity Air Canada dared to serve on my tedious flight. Seriously, Air Canada? Perhaps consider short-hauls only – that way you won't have to attempt food or even feign a semblance of service. But I digress. Back to Seattle. A little lore for the uninitiated: Picture it, Seattle, 2003. Larry Mellum, a visionary with a penchant for the delectable, unveiled Pike Place Chowder amidst the historic cobblestones. From modest beginnings, this chowder house, with its intoxicating aroma and mouthwatering variety, became a global sensation. Today, it stands as a testament to Mellum's passion, sustainability commitments, and unmatched flair for tantalizing the palate. Although the classic New England Clam Chowder keeps its revered spot, there are other contenders for the crown – like the luxuriously rich Seafood Bisque or the innovative "Lox & Bagels without the Bagel" a.k.a. Smoked Salmon Chowder. Throw in some Crab & Oyster Chowder infused with earthy chorizo and you've got a gastronomic symphony! Now, accolades have rained on this establishment like a typical Seattle drizzle. Yelp adorations, iconic status, nods from international airlines, and even a string of awards that would make even the most decked-out general blush with envy. But ask Larry? He's just stoked to see smiles and hear words like "the best damn chowder I've ever had." Respect. As for my tryst? My choices: NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER - A velvety broth replete with hearty clams, a flirtatious hint of bacon, and a sprinkling of mystery herbs. SEARED SCALLOP CHOWDER– A dance of dill and lime with succulent scallops. SEAFOOD BISQUE – A luscious fusion of Pacific cod, salmon, and shrimp, wrapped in creamy tomato goodness. CRAB & OYSTER CHOWDER – A harmonious blend, elevated by the earthy tones of chorizo. Each bite? A revelation. My only nitpick? For a spread this divine, the absence of freshly cracked pepper felt like serving Dom Perignon in a paper cup. But, let’s be real - I’d return in a heartbeat, whatever the seasoning!

Touring the market and heard of this place so y'know, stopped by. Fast counter service, no real seating to speak of, but - ya - worth the modest wait. Couldn't decide so went with a 4x sampler thing, a trayful = four pots of your choice, a couple of pieces of sourdough, and some 'oyster' crackers (they're just crackers...) Delicious. Hot, rich, creamy. Just delicious. Stop by for a snack, or for a more substantial lunch.

It is must eat place in Seattle special you are love chowder ! stopped by for late lunch before driving back to Vancouver B.C , surprised the place very quiet 3pm no long line up , they have Eight different Chowder to choose from , if you first visit try the sampler and not pricy at all , I love the N.E Chowed so creamy not salty and the Crab Roll so delicious very impressed with fresh crab meat ( $34.95 ) not over too much Mayo to overpower the crab , so if you round the pink place Market , this is the only place for excellent Chowder !

Cold & blustery in Seattle - nothing is better than Pine Place Chowder. I had Salmon Chiwder, my wife had Seafood Bisque. Both were incredible. Don’t skip this place, it’s worth the line (that goes super fast).

Many kinds of chowder. Liked the clam chowder and scallop chowder the best. Small place and very busy! Lives up to the hype.

Totally divine clam chowder even though we only had a small tasting on a good tour. The queue out the door spoke for itself

My husband and I got the New England clam chowder + the Connecticut style lobster roll. The chowder was fantastic (best we have ever had), and the the lobster was super fresh and cooked well. It is a bit pricey, but you are definitely getting a delicious meal!

Amazing chowders. We tried smoked salmon and New England chowder. Both were equally delicious. We ordered them to go in order to skip a long line, highly recommend.

We heard this was the best chowder in seattle so we went for lunch. They were pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon about 2pm. The line moved pretty quick, you order at the counter and get your food on a tray or to go. We got the chowder sampler with the New England chowder, smoked salmon chowder, scallop chowder and seafood bisque. They were all delicious! The seafood bisque was my favorite. We also got a hot Dungeness crab roll and it was really good but we got a 6 inch for $35 dollars and it wasn’t stuffed and barely had crab which was disappointing. For $65 overall with the chowder it was more of a snack then a meal for 2 people we were still hungry after. But I would come back for the seafood bisque!

Pretty darn good chowder but holy smokes, A small and a quarter were like 36 bucks. Ohh well be a tourist, soo worth it, wish I would of ordered a lobster or shrimp bun. Soo expensive but I'm sure also delicious

I make a mean clam chowder but the clam chowder at Pike Place Chowder made me realize I don't add enough "stuff". This cup of chowder is filling and hardy, not mostly liquid. I live a LONG way from Seattle, and every time I come, I have to stop and have a cup. Don't go anywhere else. This is the one!

My husband and I really enjoyed Pike Place Chowder. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly and we were able to get a seat once we got our food. We had the original new england chowder and the crab & oyster chowder. Both were delicious and I highly recommend them.

The food was good. Had the lobster roll and soup. Soup was excellent. The lobster roll was good. I didn’t like the seating at all. Very busy and difficult to get a seat

What an efficient and well run place The chowder is amazing. Would definitely go back. Try it, you'll love it 😀

It’s as good as everyone says. Honestly the whole menu is insanely delicious- clam chowder, grilled cheese, Mac N cheese, and tomato soup were some of my favorites.

I ordered the oyster and crab chowder as reminded in blog posts and didn't disappointed. It was exactly what I expected, very good and definetly worth the line wait.

If you are walking the market and wanting lunch or a quick snack, look no further than Pike Place Chowder. The seating situation is a little challenging so I recommend taking it to go and finding a place to relax and enjoy your chowder.

Super disappointed with this visit. The line was obscenely and unjustifiably long. The chowder was severely overpriced, and the service consisted of counter-service where they pour soup in a bowl and then proceed to ask for a tip. This was a terrible disappointment. I tried the 8 chowder sampler. A few of them were okay, but I couldn’t imagine a single one being remotely award winning. And a few of them I tried to find something to like about them. I really wanted to like the place. I was excited to be there. Super disappointed with the product, making the wait and the price tag completely not worth it. I would not recommend.

Best chowder I have ever had Must be the dairy they use! Even a small bowl was enough to fill me up. Go on a food tour that includes it in the tour so you don’t need to stand in the line.

The chowder was EXCELLENT!!!!! They even offered a Line and Coconut chowder as a shellfish free option for a member of our party!

We did the New England Chowder and the 4 Chowder Sampler. No bad chowders here! With that said, the New England Clam Chowder was the best we've ever had! Coming from folks who live on an east coast island known for shellfish says a lot. When at the market, stop off here. Note: their restaurant was crowded with a line. We ordered our food for pickup using their app, ready in less than 10 at their pick up window next to the restrooms. Found a table nearby.

We wanted to try the chowder here during lunch time. It turned out to be just the normal thing for us. But it was OK.

Came here for lunch. Long line but was able to order online and get our food within minutes. There are no tables so we were directed to the Taproom where we got a beer and ate our lunch. We shared a large red clam chowder and a shrimp/crab roll. Food was very good but a bit pricey.

We had never eaten clam chowder before. This was the best and its homemade. Beautiful view while you are eating and very nice employees. Be sure to try it out when you are near The Market by the port. We also had a shrimp cocktail and sauce were delicious; the shrimp was really big and fresh, of course! They have lots on the menu. Go check it out and go eat here!

Being from New England, and being pretty proud of my OWN chowder, I was ready to be picky and disappointed. Wrong. One spoonful and I understood the long lines of people waiting for their own bowl full of goodness. Well done.

This is a must go-to place if you find yourself in Seattle and especially Pike Place Market. The market was so much cleaner than just a few months ago and I found it relaxing, even thought Pike Place Chowder always seems to have a line, about 10-15 minutes. The wait is well worth it. I had the classic chowder in a sourdough bowl, which I highly recommend. My brother had smoked salmon chowder and he said it was amazing. The could next to us had the sampler which is four 6-ounce bowls covering each type of chowder they have, I am definitely getting this next time! You have to check this place out.

We each tasted a soup in a small model and if you take the same one, it is cheaper to share a large model. Both were very tasteful and we feasted. There is the queue and we can order online on site and we are delivered almost immediately. I recommend.

This place was epic, with great staff, and awesome food. A must, I will return to this location the next time I am in town.

What a treat! We got the Dungeness crab roll, lobster bisque, and clam chowder in a bread bowl. The food was hot, delicious, and was served quickly. I’m happy we tried it out!

It is must eat place in Seattle special you are love chowder ! stopped by for late lunch before driving back to Vancouver B.C , surprised the place very quiet 3pm no long line up , they have Eight different Chowder to choose from , if you first visit try the sampler and not pricy at all , I love the N.E Chowed so creamy not salty and the Crab Roll so delicious very impressed with fresh crab meat ( $34.95 ) not over too much Mayo to overpower the crab , so if you round the pink place Market , this is the only place for excellent Chowder !

the clam chowder is delicious, we ordered two flavours the original and the crab & oysters chowder its so good high recommended to visit the place you will definitely love it .

The place is located at Pike Place Market Place, which is great place to visit. They offer several size options and even Chowder served in a Sourdough bun. the chowder was excellent and is served with Sourdough and toasted bread, and Oyster crackers.

Always a must when we are in Seattle. The clam chowder is always delicious, this time I got it in the bread bowl and the bread was so soft and delicious.

8 cup sampler was perfect for us but the best one is still the original clam chowder there was a long line but it moves really fast we waited about 10 min also you can’t hold seats

We have an amazing downtown in Seattle, y'all know that, right? So much life, energy, shops, restaurants, activities, gorgeous scenery, etc. We always tell ourselves we're going to spend more time exploring downtown and it doesn't happen as often as it should. We finally enjoyed a few hours in downtown Seattle, one of the highlights was seeing the beautiful Norwegian Bliss cruise ship in port .. hours before she was about to depart, but that's neither here nor there :). Another highlight was finally trying Pike Place Chowder. Thank you to my wife for suggesting this, great idea! This restaurant has been on our list of places to try for ages and for one reason or another we've never made it out, they do tend to close early, 5pm, so there's that. In writing up this overview, I found there's another Pike Place Chowder not far away in the Pacific Place Mall with much later hours but.... in examining their online menu, I didn't see any vegan options, so it seems that's exclusive to the Post Alley location. Eating here was just just magical in a way. You're in the heart of everything that makes Seattle ... Seattle, the smell of Puget Sound waters emanating in the air, the hustle of both locals and tourists alike, all the little shops, Pike's Place Market just blocks away ... it all just felt special to me. The restaurant itself is a bitty hole in the wall, blink and you'll miss it as you walk on by lol but what it lacks in size it makes up in charm, if by virtue of the culmination of the components I mentioned above. Then you're looking at this huge delicious bowl, made .. of sourdough bread, and you're looking at the creamy soup as the smell infiltrates your senses, then you're fantasizing how the soup will taste when poured inside the bowl but you don't have to fantasize because that soon becomes your reality ... yes, this is all part of the magic of the experience (I mean, for me anyhow ... you do you lol). The bread, firm crust on the outside with a soft doughy interior, the soup .. creamy, filled to the brim with vegetables, a subtle yet sharp accent of coconut and lime. If you love yourself, you owe it to yourself to live this experience. If you're just kinda "meh" on yourself, well find someone that does love themselves and wants that experience and tag along with them :P

Lots of different types/flavors of chowders, all of them fantastic. Almost always a line to get in, so I suggest you order on the website and do pickup. It will drastically reduce your wait time. They also have some seafood sandwich options. Prices and portions are fair.

I had both lunch and dinner here. The clam chowder and fried fish were wonderful! I wasn't as fond of the crab roll. I really did enjoy eating here. They have tables in the mall to sit at as the one I went to is a small operation in Pacific Place, 4th floor.

came recently for some chowder. Wanted something local, great tasting and affordable. Really enjoy the taste and highly recommended.

We went on a Saturday afternoon at about 1 PM. The line was really short, which is unheard of at that time of day. By the time we sat down to eat there was a longer line. The line moves very fast though because they have it down to an art. We ordered the 4 cup sampler. It was not only a great variation, but it was also a great conversation piece because a couple next to us did the same 4 cup and so it was a great way to talk about the different flavors. We did the New England, smoked salmon, market, and the Manhattan. They were all good, but my favorite is still the original New England..

Wonderful food which also is excellent value Queuing is a bit long and finding somewhere to sit to eat the superb food is a bit hit and miss but otherwise this is a “ Must Do” in Seattle

This was so delicious! We lined up to try the signature chowder. The line moved quickly and we sat opposite the shop to eat. Staff cleaned tables to ensure it was sanitised between customers.

My wife and I decided to stop here for lunch, and I am so glad we did. I am not usually a chowder person but it was the best chowder I've ever experienced by far. We ordered clam chowder and I also had a 1/4 pound lobster roll, which was also fantastic. The line was a bit long but went very fast. The crew is very fast at putting out orders and the food is to die for.

We got the sampler here. It is super busy but we got a counter seat which was great. We tried 4 soups and i think for me I loved the Manhattan version and the salmon chowder. Very delicious and super shareable for two people. A definite try!

This place may have a line but it is worth every minute! It is, without a doubt, the best chowder I've ever had, and the flight is a great way to sample several different ones on offer.

Wait in the line--its worth it!!! Such incredible variety of chowders but what I always get is the eastern Dungeness crab roll. Rich and delicious. I feel like this place is a must if you are going to the market.

We ate chowder every chance we got on our road trip from Seattle to San Francisco and Pike’s was the best! I even ordered some when I got back to the east coast and it was just as good as eating in Seattle!

We had the BEST lobster sandwich we’ve ever had. Worth every single penny! Highly recommend stopping there!

We actually picked up chowder to go from the booth in the mall. It was for a small supper. It was thick and very good. People were very nice and packaged it well for travel. Bread is very good too.

Stopped in for a cup of chowder and tried the Market style. It was absolutely delicious!! A must during your stay in Seattle.

Not sure which chowder to get, notice that they have a sampler. Got the sampler, then which chowder? Ask the server what are the most popular chowder. Got three chowder and a bisque - New England Clam Chowder, Seafood Bisque, Crab and Oyster Chowder, Smoked Salmon Chowder. I do not like bisque, but will give it a try. However they make the bisque at this place, so I will order the bisque at this place. Crab and Oyster Chowder was very good. The other was good. We also got the Connecticut Style Lobster Roll, which is very good. Note that it is one of the most priciest on the menu.

Their New England style chowder is second to none! BUT! Their smoked salmon chowder is out of this world! Get the sampler

Outstanding clam chowder! Absolutely nothing negative to say. Ordering online and picking it up to avoid the lines is the way to go.

There are many places to get chowder but Pike Place Chowder is the famous ones. I don’t eat much chowder to be able compare but on a cold day, this hit the spot. I regret not getting the sampler. Instead, we got the New England. It had tons of chunky seafood. Came with crackers and slice of bread. There were indoor and outdoor dining. You order, pay then find seating. The line moves quick.

this place is seriously popular. They have limited hours, 9 to 5, with the last orders taken at 4:30 pm. But here's the scoop – you can opt for online ordering and snag it to-go, saving you precious time. Trust me, it's worth every bit of the wait, no matter which way you choose to enjoy it.

Delish chowder soup!! There is always a queue but weekday is better. Very limited table and chair, but you will manage to get empty table somehow after a short wait

So the line was LONG! Beyond the pasta and pizza place you can order your chowder to go! Use the online QR code order and in 5 minutes you are walking around the fish market with fresh chowder. We had the smoked salmon. It was good!

Long lines, no place to sit but great chowder. Definitely a tourist trap but a great trap it was. They had four or five kinds of chowder. I got clam chowder and it was wonderful. My son got a sampler of four and gobbled them all down except Manhattan. He was not a fan. My other son had a shrimp roll which was stuffed with shrimp. He enjoyed it. Go during off hours as you will have a hard time finding anyplace to sit.

Why is this place so highly rated? OK the soup is really good. There is virtually no seating forcing you to find seating inside the market away from restaurant. Portions small. We had two soups and lobster salad sandwich costing us just shy of $100. Go over to Vons for a great lunch.

Ok, this place can have a crazy line, so be flexible when visiting. We saw it was busy during prime lunch so decided to wait until late afternoon to return. Picked up a little chowder and a lobster roll-both recommended to us by a local bartender. They did not disappoint. And why have I never thought to add hot sauce to chowder before! That hit the spot! The line moves pretty quickly and we were happy to take it to go and not sit there since there wasn't much seating and it was cold outside!

Very popular chowder joint. Good value with seating available outside. Go for the their clam chowder and you won’t be disappointed.

I arrived 15 minutes before the 11 AM opening. I was fifth in line and there were probably 30 people behind me at opening. I ordered the four 6 ounce sampler. All were excellent except the one with chorizo… a little salty. But good; matter fact. It was all too much for me to finish at the time. So, I took it back to the hotel and ate it cold later that evening and it was still very good.

There was no beating the delicious soup. Tip: Call ahead to pick up your order online to save the long wait. We were there in the off-season and still. had a line.

One of the best clam chowder in a bread bowl I’ve eaten. The line was really long but placed an order for pick up from the restaurant and it was ready within 5 minutes. Walked over to the waterfront and enjoyed it with a fantastic view.

This was a really great find. The choices were fantastic, 8 different Chowders. What was even better was that we learned that you could order 4 or 8 small flights. These are small portions of each Chowder accompanied by slices of bread. There are also Lobster rolls, shrimp rolls & some other specialty items. The problem is the lack of adequate seating. Especially indoors. But you can go to the bar on the corner but a drink while you consume you delicious chowders!

The original chowder was amazing. I didn’t care much about the other flavors but my son did. We ordered the sampler. The line is long.

You haven't experienced the best of Pike Place market until you enjoy Pike Place Chowder. Everyone in Seattle have their favourite chowder spot depending on the ingredients used and the flavour produced. Having tried other chowders in the market, this for me personally edged out the competition. I understand why they continue to feature highly at food festivals and win all the competitions out there! Their secret ingredient is love. ❤️ The line was insane - almost 2 blocks long! I've never seen a line like this for food before! We skipped the line being on a Seafood tour and were able to be served at the back kitchen window. Shhhh. It is far easier to place orders for takeaway and just pick it up at the window than just joining the queue. Because at the end of the day you're not going to have place to sit and eat it there. You're going to have to go to one of the many courtyards or public seating areas to enjoy it. So you may as well be sensible and skip the line and save your feet a 30 minute or more wait. Truly superb chowder and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients...and the love in every bite!

Fantastic chowder! Might be touristy but it doesn't matter because that's how good it is. Get the flight and try multiple kinds

Tucked away in the Pike Place market. You can wait in line or you can order on the website and pick it up to go in 5-10 minutes. Try the sampler--their seasonal ones were New England clam chowder, crab & oyster chowder, smoked salmon chowder and seafood bisque.

The best chowder I have ever had. The sourdough bread bowl puts it over the top. Amazing. I would definitely eat here again.

Their chowders are great, but I think they've fallen victims to their fame because they think people will keep returning no matter what. They close the outdoor seating area at 4.30pm, but NOBODY in the line knows about it, so everyone is buying whatever they are buying and thinking they'll have a place to sit down and eat it. WRONG. We bought a sampler set of 8 different chowders at 4.25pm and didn't get to enjoy them because in a few minutes the staff starting stacking up the tables and chairs, shouting, and making everyone feel unwelcome. We had to pack up and go, and since we couldn't find any other outdoor place to sit down, we had to put the rest of chowders in the bin. $50 waste of food. Thanks guys, you made our day!

There is a reason they are the most awarded chowder ever. It really was the best I ever tasted. Try the "chowder flight" while you are there - what a unique experience!

We stopped by Pike Place Chowder twice. For our first attempt, it was after 3 p.m., and so I thought it would be less busy...I was wrong. After we waited in line for 15 minutes and moved only a few spots, we opted to come back the next day and simply grab dinner at T-Mobile Park. For the second attempt, we stopped by around 11 a.m., and the line was longer. I noticed that there were only about 10 tables in the restaurant area, and since my husband and I rented a condo behind Pike Place Market on the waterfront, we opted to use the takeout service. This was such a good choice! The only downside was that we wanted to try the sampler, but I didn't see were we could actually select chowders (it certainly may have been user error). The takeout pickup is located past the restaurant (I think there is a pasta or pizza place next after it...walk by there as well). There is a sign hanging above the takeout area. You just stand there and about 5-7 minutes later, they call your name. When we got back to the condo, the soup was still steaming hot. As other reviews have said, there is also some seating (and stairs) behind Pike Place Market overlooking the water that would serve as a nice spot to have your chowder as well. We tried the New England Clam Chowder and the Salmon Chowder. I would rate the Salmon Chowder 2/5 stars. It just didn't work for me. My husband said that it got better as you ate more of it. I would rate the New England Clam Chowder a 3/5. I really think this place is more about the experience. To me, the clam chowder was a little more thin than I've had in Massachusetts and other places on the east coast. But, it was not bad clam chowder...I just think I've had better. Note: We got the 8 ounce servings of both chowders. My husband wonders if it would have been better in the bread bowls...you knows?

If they could deliver the Seafood Bisque to my house, I'd be happy. We shared the sampler and it was great. Thought about going back again the next day. It's worth the wait in line. You won't be disappointed.

We are not a real big fans of chowder however this is an iconic place. We had to stop by and then We could not make up our minds. Spoke to several people eating chowder and everyone had something different and everyone enjoyed what they had. I got the sampler which included New England clam chowder, smoked salmon chowder., seafood bisque, and seared scallop chowder. All four for under $20. This is quite a deal and quite the sensation to the taste buds. Service was fast and friendly. This is a must place to stop and try at least one. High quality ingredients and nothing is watered down. Pure rich chowder.

YUM. The clam chowder was spectacular and so was the seared scallop. Highly recommend the "chowder flight" to be able to sample a few different options. Delicious!

The service was excellent, they were helpful kind and willing to answer any questions you might have. Spectacular is how we would describe the food! My husband had the chowder sampler and loved them all! Some more then others but they were all great! Being from the Midwest true chowder is hard to come by however we will be back whenever in Seattle. I had the cod dinner and it was so good. Again it is hard to get really fresh fish, it was so good!

if you had more seating it would be 5 star for sure. the food is just too good not to deal with the seating problem. if just 2 of you it is ok but with 6-7 of us.. not good.

Based on the line and reviews I thought this would be really great chowder, but it was not. Very disappointing and it was served cold. Would not recommend.

Service is great! Food is even better. LOVED the fish and chips. This restaurant is casual. Good for lunch or dinner. It will not disappoint.

My wife and I were in town for a concert (first trip to Seattle) and this was identified as one of our ‘Need to Visit’. It did not disappoint. Two bowls of the best clam chowder we’ve ever had.

This place was awesome! Honestly, the best chowder I’ve had. I had the New England clam in a sourdough bowl, and am embarrassed to say, ate almost the entire bowl, too! Super tasty. Tucked away in post alley, must try for a quick bite in Seattle! The lobster roll also looked delish, but very, very overpriced in my opinion at almost 40 bucks. The clam chowder had me satisfied
Yummy chowder
Great for trying the famous chowder. It was as good as they advertised. We purchased to different chowder, and couldn't pick which one was the favourite. Both so delicious!
