If you go at opening, you do not need a reservation

My husband was looking forward to finally getting to have a deep dish pizza. All the times we have been through Chicago, he has never gotten a chance. He very much enjoyed his pizza. My youngest also ordered a pizza- not deep dish. It would be nice if there was a way they could offer smaller sized "personal" pizzas as she was unable to eat even half of her pizza. My oldest tried the Anne Marie's Tortellini subbing vodka sauce for the meat sauce. She loved it. I opted for something lighter with the Chopped Salad. The house dressing was very flavorful.

Great food.

Wanted to get the pizza but had to get next door for a volleyball tournament and the pizza takes up to 45 minutes to make. We got the ravioli and two hamburgers. All of it was great. We will be back for sure the next time in town.

Slow service

By MV |

Terrible service slow...marina sauce very watery. Nice portion for the pasta and calermara. Meat sauce was good. Price was reasonable.

Late night order but should have passed...

By Matthew L |

Ordered a thin crust sausage pizza and chicken strips and was disappointed to say the least. The crust was an odd, grainy soggy consistency and the sausage had an odd aftertaste. The pieces crumbled into a mess. We couldn't stomach a second piece. The chicken strips for $11 are a lower end frozen chicken product. Dine in if you plan to try Pizano's, order out somewhere else. The delivery person was the only positive thing about my experience with Pizano's.

Pizza was great!

A group of us that were attending a recent conference had lunch at Pizano's on the south side. I thought the pizza was delicious and the service was fast and efficient.

Great sports bar with delicious food

By Gregory B |

Sat at the bar. We had an excellent meal and great service. The Chicago Beef sandwich was delicious. So was the chocolate 🍪 in a pizza pan with icecream.

Great deep dish Chicago pizza

By CHIR0D0C |

Authentic, delicious Chicago deep dish pizza. Surprisingly excellent fried calamari with excellent marinara sauce. It was heavily Laden with tentacles which I love. The salad could have used more mixed greens and better ingredients but the salad dressing was very good. Service was excellent.

Deep pan pizza over priced and under delivered.

By dean c |

We visited Pizanos recently The deep dish pizza was nice but over priced and not worth the amount paid. I would recommend the cheaper thin crust pizza. We also had the calamari and it was nice and the service very also good. They maybe taking advantage of tourists.

Good pizza...fun place!

By JimFlyer2010 |

A business associate and I ate here twice while staying at the Marriott Marquis for a conference. Thin crust pizza and toasted ravioli the first time, deep dish pizza and cheesy garlic bread the last day. All selections were very good! And they have a good beer selection to boot! The first visit, the Bears were on and the large selection of TVs were almost all tuned in...the next time we were there, the Cubs game was on and I believe ALL of the TVs were showing that game! We talked with the friendly bartender and he remembered us the second time we were in (we sat at the bar both times...our choice). Good food, good beer, friendly staff...what more could you ask for!

Meh, not that good.

By bliming |

We had take outs and ended up throwing most of the $90 worth of food away. We had Chicago style pizza and they put it in the box without anything under it and the pizza stuck to the box and had cardboard stuck on the crust. Yuck. The $10 garlic bread was gummy and had no garlic taste. The thin pepperoni pizza had exactly five pieces of pepperoni on it. We counted. A big disappointment. Too many good pizza places to get a bad pizza.

Great Service, Fun Place

Fun Place, Great Pizza

By tea4mepls |

Pizano's has Chicago style and regular pizza as well as salads and other Italian dishes plus a full bar. Food is great, atmosphere is relaxed and fun (especially if you are a Chicago sports team fan), Manager Joe is awesome, and waitstaff is friendly and helpful. Prices are midrange and everybody seems to enjoy eating there - families, groups, children, and even CPD!

Great Atmosphere

By MUtiger83 |

Much nicer than just a pizza place. This restaurant is one of the few within safe and easy walking distance of the Marriott Marquis and McCormick Place. They serve basically the same (amazing) pizza as Lou Malnati's, and the owner is a Malnati. We had pizza and spaghetti - both high quality. The decor is classy and seems like old-school Chicago - I could imagine Dan Rostenkowski or the Daley's hanging out here. For a tourist like me, this was the perfect place to have some authentic Chicago/Italian fare.

Awesome Restaurant

By batmaninsc |

We stopped here for dinner since it was a block away from the Marriott and the kids have never had deep dish pizza. This place was great! We sat outside where we had an excellent waiter. The pizza was amazing and the deep dish dessert was awesome. You don’t need to be in the heart of the downtown to enjoy an excellent Chicago pizza experience. Definitely would recommend this place.

Friendly with pasta variety

By aehall7 |

We ordered the spinach and cheese ravioli, calamari, and an individual deep dish pizza. We would return for the same. We were informed the pizza would take 35 minutes but we were okay with waiting. The waitress stopped back a few times, and also someone else I assumed was a manager. There was a wait by the time we left after 5:30 pm on a Sunday. One block over from Marriott Marquis.

good pizza. slow service.

We went in after a concert and ordered pizza. It was good, but it took a long time. Close to the convention center.

Great thin crust pizza with friendly service

By Rebecca Ross |

This restaurant was within walking distance of the McCormick Place which made it on our short list of places to eat. It was about a 10 minute walk and not through a bad area of town. The food was fantastic and we will likely drive back there at some point for another visit. We ate there twice. To start with, the service was prompt and fast, even though the person was training someone. We had a Johns Hawaiian thin pizza, with combo toasted ravioli (some cheese, some meat) and a house salad the first time. The second time we had a half sausage/half pepperoni thin crust pizza and two orders of cheese toasted ravioli. The pizza had a thin crispy crust, the raviolis were crispy, crunchy on the outside with a nice cheesy interior. Both pizzas were flavorful, hot and one of the best thin crust pizzas I have ever had. The wait staff were always very friendly and one of the guys took the time to explain the different events that would be coming up in the area, along with showing us the neat fireplace they had that spanned two rooms. It was an LED one that you could change the colors. Lots of different sports events will be taking place nearby. Somehow, we will have to make a trip back to this area of the city just for this fantastic pizza. This restaurant was within walking distance of the McCormick Place which made it on our short list of places to eat. Deep Dish Desire

By kdpbball |

We walked from our hotel. We wanted to order deep dish pizza to go. The hostess Christianna was very personable! We ordered a small Brickhouse DD Pizza: deep dish crust with lots of mozzarella, chunks of fresh tomato with Italian sausage and mushrooms on top. We are from New York and we wanted to experience this Chicago delicacy. The crust was a bit grainy but that may be the usual? Not a deal breaker as the abundance of toppings was excellent. Hubby enjoyed a Peroni at the bar while we waited for our food. The restaurant is decorated with jerseys from every Chicago sports team: Pros plus DePaul greats. A cool place.

Good Pizza near McCormick and Marriott Marquis

By ALEX P |

Part of a group of local Pizza Restaurants, this is a fine neighborhood restaurant. Service was not special the night I was here which would be my only issue and 1 star deduction. Waiter was not present or very attentive. Food is plentiful and very good. Did not have the pizza, but had a very big Parmesan sandwich. Good cheesy bread, nice big portions and a nice bar. Definitely A-OK place for a casual meal.

Not very good

By Rgregory1976 |

The pizza is not very good...I like frozen pizza better than this place. Toppings on deep dish were cold and the thin crust is not good either. Do not recommend. The staff are friendly but the food is not worth going for.

Excellent service and thin crust Chicago style pizza

By lorab108 |

Service was excellent. I was in town for a conference and wanted to try Chicago style pizza. We went with the thin crust and house salad. Very good. Would recommend to others.

Couldnt bring myself to order any food.

By Mike M |

Walked a few blocks in the rain as I was told this was the place to go. Sat down, ordered a beer and when she brought it to me, she said " I will need a credit card to start your tab". I was a little taken aback as there were literally 5 other patrons in the place and it was Sunday afternoon. I told her I would pay as I go and laid a hundred on the bar. She took it along with the receipt, put in a glass in front of me and said " Ill jut put this here for collateral" . I told her she was making me feel like a thief and to go ahead and cash me out. I went and ate at the hotel bar, which sucked but was better than spending more money here.

Worst customer service experience ever

By Ashlie T |

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER! I will never order from this Pizanos again! I was given the wrong order. I ordered half cheese and half sausage due to my roommate being vegetarian. Once the pizza arrived I noticed it was all sausage hence my roommate cannot eat that pizza. I called to get it replaced and they stated that I have to return the current pizza in exchange for the new one. They also investigated and stated that their chefs did indeed make the correct pizza due to it being a slow night and questioned me. I stated I would be happy to send pictures of the full sausage pizza prior to being ate which they declined.Of course while waiting for the new pizza I ate my half of the pizza. I was then called by the Michael Austin (General Manager) who left a voicemail stating that I was not being “straight” with them and refused to deliver to my apartment again, he stated, “ I hope you enjoy your pizza tonight because that’s the last time we will be delivering to you.” I immediately called Michael back as I was very upset to find out being a loyal customer to Pizanos for them to think I was lying. Michael was very rude over the phone and did not show any sort of customer service. I stated to Michael that I would be happy to send the pictures to him to prove that I was not lying and I’m not trying to get a free pizza. I also stated that I worked in hospitality at Loews and would always order from them. In which he replied “I don’t need your resume”. He continued to declined and stated that if I choose to order again that they will never deliver. I have never experience someone so unprofessional and disrespectful. I will not be ordering from them again and I am very disappointed that an experience like this from the general manager resulted in this.

Great food and service

By Hsquared01 |

This is a great place. The food was delicious and the waitress helped us pick the right amount food for three younger children. She really prevented us from spending wastefully on meals. I would highly recommend.

Pretty Good. If you didn't order dessert, don't accept it!

By David G |

Ate here with my family as we were passing through Chicago on the way home from a road trip vacation East. We were staying nearby and this place was recommended by the hotel concierge. Ordered a small deep dish for my wife and I, and a medium (they don’t have anything smaller) thin crust for the kids. Wasn’t busy as it was a Monday night. Service was prompt and friendly. Pizza was good. Both my wife and I agreed it had better flavor that Giordano’s although it was a little skimpy on toppings. Mentioned the friendly service, and yes, our server was very nice throughout. However, as we were finishing up our server comes over and says, “I have dessert coming out for you so save room!” Cool! Dessert is included. Or so we thought. It’s not uncommon where we’re from, particularly at pizza places, that they’d bring you a small scoop of ice cream or something after the meal. As soon as he brought it out, a 6 inch or so pan with a cookie on the bottom - ice cream - whipped cream - and chocolate sauce, I had a feeling it wasn’t included, and wasn’t cheap. Sure enough, the bill comes and there’s a charge of $8 for the dessert. I just let it go and paid the bill. Still, felt it was very dishonest of our otherwise very friendly server to imply there was an included, or complimentary, dessert when there in fact was not. We visit Chicago maybe once or twice a year, and this is the type of thing we’ve come to expect of Windy City “hospitality,” so I wasn’t overly shocked, or upset with this slight of hand. Just wanted to make other travelers aware that if you didn’t want dessert to begin with, don’t accept it when the server politely says he/she has dessert coming out for you because you will be charged. The dessert thing probably should have knocked my rating down to a 1 or 2. But pretty good pizza and we've come to learn that this type of thing is to be expected in Chicago. All things considered and the fact that there’s probably 500 other pizza places to try in Chicago, I’ll probably never go back.

Dinner at the Loop

By ROBERT R |

Clean friendly prompt service delicious food! Sports bar atmosphere. South end downtown Chicago Loop business district.

Excellent Pizza, even better service.

By beachinfool |

We stayed close to Pizano's, gave it a try on the night of our arrival. The place is super clean, and it has an excellent vibe. The Chicago deep dish pizza was among the best I have ever had. Salads and pasta platters are huge portions. We liked it so much, we went back there the very next night. The manager ( I didn't catch his name but he grew up in Kansas) came over and visited with us, he was super nice, and he gave us a complimentary dessert that was outstanding. We greatly appreciated his kindness and hospitality. Will make this my first stop when in Chicago again.

Friendly, pleasant atmosphere.

By Stacey S |

We were referred to this place by our hotel concierge. He said if we mentioned his name we could probably get a free dessert. We did and we didn't. What can you do? The staff was amazing otherwise and checked on us throughout our dinner. Very personable and so thoughtful. The pizza was simply amazing. Best I have had in a long time. We would go back for the pizza tho, not so much the dessert. It was light on toppings but very flavorful. My son had their wings and said they were now in his top 3 favorites. :0 (he is very picky about his wings) Would go back when we are back that way.

Lunch after a convention session

By Craig G |

We walked from the McCormick convention center to this place. We're glad we did. The food is great. It looks new. Service was great. Restroom was clean. Good selection of beer.

Great Pizza

By N0t4Us |

We were staying at the nearby Marriott Marquis and wanted a pizza place nearby. Pizano’s fit the bill. We split a large deep dish cheese and sausage, and a small vegetarian. Everyone was great. I did think the bottom crust was a bit hard, but not being familiar with deep dish pizza maybe that’s the way it is always cooked. Either way, the food was good, the service was friendly, the look and feel was nice. Would recommend it.

Too much to eat

By Luclu23 |

Arrived in town for a conference. Restaurant located within walking distance from hotel. Out of our 5 days, our group ate there 3 separate occasions. Loved pasta dishes. Tried individual deep pizza. And if course had to sample desserts. Each time, service was wonderful and food fulfilling.

Loads of cheese

By Cizuo |

This restaurant was within walking distance from the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. We ordered a small deep dish pizza which was plenty enough for my husband and I with leftovers for breakfast. The pizza was the best we have ever had. We had to cut the cheese because it was so plentiful. The waitress was courteous. A nice touch to our evening experience was that the manager stopped by all of the tables to check on our experience. I definitely would recommend eating your Chicago pizza here.

Nothing Spectacular

By Clyde M |

We came in for lunch while at a conference in McCormick. The place was super busy and it took quite a while to get food. We were told it would be 40 mins for pizza so we did sandwiches and those took about the same amount of time. They were average. I wasn't impressed with the food or service. I'm not sure how good the pizza is and would have liked to test that out. It did the job, but probably not a place I'm planning to go to unless I'm stuck in that area due to work.

Phenomenal

By Joe M |

This place was great. I had their pizza. It was phenomenal. I will be going back all week for different experiences.the staff was great, their specials are really good as well.

NICE BAR

By jkesn228 |

We were attending DePaul University basketball games at the Wintrust Arena. Went to Pizanos before and after the games with friends. Great atmosphere for sports. Friendly bar staff. Good food choices at a good price. When we are in town for more games at the arena, we will come again.

Good Food And Atmosphere

By Deargoodbye |

During my trip to C2E2 my friends and I dined here about 3 times and every time was great! We even had a large group of 12 and they had no problems fitting us in. There was a little issue with a drink not being delivered but showing on the bill. They had no issue removing the charge. The pizza, both deep and thin, were fantastic.

Don't do it!

By Lee M |

Arrived with a friend and we intended to get a "personal" pizza as an appetizer before ordering some pasta. First we were told that we couldn't add all of the toppings we wanted to our "personal" pizza because it wouldn't cook right (we basically wanted an "everything" minus a couple of items) so we were encouraged to order a Small instead. Turns out, that once you start adding toppings, it goes from being a menu item to a "customized" pizza. A basic "Small" cheese pizza with "everything" went from $15.00 to OVER $63.00!!! For a 12" pizza... No thanks. BTW, the manager on duty--really rude; and THAT is being nice.

New favorite pizza place

By Drinkwater11 |

I’ve had all the “big name” Chicago pizzas, and this place beats em all. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the main attraction is most definitely the pie. It was awesome.

Awful waiter, so-so pizza

By DocNiel |

Stayed at Hyatt McCormick Place. Unfortunately, not a lot of restaurants in the immediate area. Went to this place. Waiter took drink order, then forgot about us for 10 minutes. Had to flag down another waiter for sodas. Our waiter came back with sodas, and apologized. Ordered thick-crust pizza. Received a so-so pizza that was definitely not thick-crust, although thicker than expected for a thin-crust. Couldn't find waiter to complain, so ate it. Mediocre tasting, but hit the spot. Had to flag down another waiter for drink refills, and to get the check.

Pizzano's Pizza and Pasta

We stopped here for lunch, the service was excellent and the food was great. You wont be disappointed.

Late lunch with colleagues!

By Keith G. |

In town for a conference and this was the first place we wanted to go. Being it was Sunday, and football was on, we sat at the bar. Our first bartender was not friendly at all, kind of rude, so we waited for the second bartender, who was great. Anyhow, we ordered some drinks and then the deep-dish. We ordered a Rudy and Meatlovers. The pizzas arrived and smelled amazing. I had the meatlovers, and it was perfect. I enjoyed 2 slices that were filled with pepperoni, Canadian bacon and sausage. The sauce was tasty and the crust was phenomenal. I also tried the Rudy, with sausage and vegetables, and this was a clear second. Both were perfect and overall ambiance was great.

In town for the WEFTEC conference and we needed Deep dish.

By Keith G. |

Been here before about 2 years ago and needed to return. Service was good and we started with the fried calamari, and it was very good. We then had three deep dish pizzas (Meat lovers and Ryans) and they were great. The dough was crispy and sauce is different (very good). Great experience and will be back in future.

Great dessert treat! And pizza!

By Stacey L |

The atmosphere was clean and fun for a family. The staff were nice. And they have the best dessert cookie ice cream treat!

Good food and a short walk from the Hyatt Regency hotel

By Famousdavis |

I had a business conference at the McCormick convention center and was staying in the Hyatt Regency that's across the street from McCormick. After a few meals at the in-hotel restaurants, my wife and I decided to venture out and find a pizzeria that serves Chicago-style pizza. This Pizano's location came up as a viable choice, so we went for it. It's only a few blocks west of the Hyatt. The restaurant is new, having opened up here earlier this year (2017). The restaurant was moderately full for a weeknight dinner meal. We ate at a table near the bar. We ordered a salad to share and a medium sausage-and-mushroom Chicago-style pizza. The pizza was, to my taste, not as good Giordanno's but better than Lou Malanati's. The pizza crust was surprisingly crispy, a little too crispy-crunchy for my liking. I prefer the Giordano's crust which isn't as crunchy and has better flavor than the Pizano's pie. That said, the pizza was still quite good. The salad was fine, but I don't prefer iceberg lettuce. The bread that was served was okay. Our waiter was chatty, pleasant. Usually I don't chat much with the wait staff, but this young man was pleasant to talk to and seemed to know when it was time to move on and wait on his other customers. In all, it was a good meal, but I would probably try a different pizzeria nearby if I were visiting here again. But this place was good enough that I would be okay with visiting here again and maybe try a different pizza, or perhaps one of their other dinner entrees.

Delicious Food -Friendly attentive service

By LYNN J |

We were party of a private party. Everything was fresh and delicious and served by two outstanding ladies at the buffet and friendly gents at the bar. Nothing fancy - just good solid Italian comfort food.

So good we visited three times in one weekend!

By mels80 |

It started off with being just hungry and looking for something close to our hotel for the weekend. Soon enough we were making reservations for Saturday evening with our group of friends and family and then returning on Sunday with another group of friends. This location is within a three minute walk from the Marriott Marquis - no hard or difficult directions to follow. It was large and clean and the staff was on top of their game. I'm truly surprised it wasn't more crowded during any of our visits. Perhaps I shouldn't review as to give away the secret!

Nice restaurant, meh pizza

By procyclist |

Selection of restaurants is limited in the McCormick place neighborhood. This restaurant is well located, and nicely decorated. It has a large center bar. Staff is friendly. The pizza itself is mediocre at best (as far as the Chicago Style pizza goes). They use the 3/4 pound (+/-) of mozzarella on the base, but the no top layer of crust; it's only about half the thickness of other Chicago Styles.

Pizanos Pizza - Indiana Avenue

By Too Poor 2 |

Location was close to our hotel and worth trying for dinner last week. We order one deep dish pizza (the Oprah), lemon chicken, chicken parmiagiana, and the steak sandwich. All were excellent except the steak sandwich, likely because we thought it was like another italian steak. Service was good, ambiance was casual, and prices were normal for a Chicago pizzeria. The Oprah was $30 and was a little high for our east coast tastes, but its flavors were exceptional. Not too far from McCormick Place.

Homemade pasta's are to die for

By VinceCuraro |

Love their Homemade Tortellini. Their 4 Cheese Tortellini was really good. Then I tried their Ann Marie's Homemade Tortellini with the meat sauce and that was heaven. Food all round is very good.

Great Food, Atmosphere and Service

By Raymond B |

We happened to find this place around the corner from our hotel. We had it for dinner our first night in town and enjoyed it enough to go back for our final dinner before heading home. The Deep Dish Pizza was delicious, and I'm not a fan of Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. The second time we went back, I had the Chicago Beef Sandwich. It was outstanding. I would definitely come back to Pizano's the next time I'm in Chicago.

Good Italian food

By vini00 |

Very good Italian food. Waiter was not happy when we told him he had messed up our order, but the manager was right there to make things right. In spite of that, we went back for 3 nights. It was worth it, although with little competition in the area... we would not go far in the snow storm in January.

Great Food

By christopherbA4600XO |

We ordered carry out from this site. Ordered online and walked from the hotel to pick it up. The app allowed me to track the progress which was very accurate. The deep dish pizza was excellent and the spaghetti was also very good. Easy to order and pick up.

Pizano's are liars!!!!

By Mary E |

As I write this, I am in tears not from sadness but from frustration. I needed the pizza for a group of dentists at a annual meeting, the hotel recommended them as they are two or three blocks away and have good pizza. The latter is true, the pizza was okay. The service however was terrible, beyond terrible..... I ordered the pizza on Thursday Nov 9 with Ken right at the restaurant. I called at 11am and spoke to step to confirm I explained why yadda yadda told her I'm nervous it's for my job yadda yadda .... she said no problem it will be there hot and on time. Ken who took the order also seemed competent. Seemed capable and reliable. I went over the times with him and cautioned that it was the most important part because the Doctors only have a one hour window for lunch (12-1) He assured me that it would be here at 11:45. So 12pm no pizza, I call to reconfirm. oh the driver is running a little behind Ken had the wrong time down yadda yadda... ten minutes tops. Then I get a bing on my phone > "your order is running behind see you at 12:30 -12:45. I call Pizano's explain that this is unacceptable. I am told she will talk to manager put me on hold 5 minutes later someone is packing the pies and will wheel them over with a cart. so now I'm a jerk off waiting outside along with two doorman and a concierge for the pizza guy. nothing... no one... so the hotel doorman offers to drive me over in his own car. (angel) Mind you in between I try to get a taxi to take me over they sit outside hotel ..they would not take me , they said it wasn't long enough trip and the taxi would smell like pizza. what so I went down the row 3 more said no, so the bellman called security and they made them leave and as the one guy left he drove past me rolled down window and gave me the finger. i call them back and tell them someone is driving me over have the pizzas at the door. I get there oh I sent him over he's looking for you by the elevator they call him and cant tell me exactly where he is. then they start to tell him to bring them back cause I am now at restaurant. I said what are you crazy tell him to wait there we are one minute away. we go back no one has seen anyone with pizzas now four hotel staff, security and two dentists and myself are scouring the hotel there's no pizza. I call back and now I am so angry I am in tears. the doorman took the phone and was trying to get to the bottom of it Then in comes the guy not a care in the world, pretends he doesn't understand me , the pizza is cold and chicago pizza is so t hick that its terrible cold. the doctors not have only 14 minutes to eat. I dont know what was the real story but they lied! The hotel has officially removed them from the recommendation list and I was told by Pizano's that they are not charging me. They suck and they dont give a flying fluck

Large group eating pizza

By Scott S |

Had a group of 25 and were easily able to accommodate. Rating a pizza is very subjective, so not sure my opinion would be accurate for everyone. We had the medium thick crust in basic sausage. I wish I would have been able to order what I wanted, but the pizza was good regardless. The place was nice, service was excellent. They get you in and out pretty quick.

Pretty Good

By DrFS123 |

The food and beverage were good. Not the best deep dish but good. Loud at times. Wait staff were attentive.

Oprah's favorite thin crust

By TXTravelMD |

If you're in the mood for a pie, but not the deep dish variety, this place was voted Oprah's favorite many years back. The crust is a Malnati's butter crust version, and it holds up well to toppings. It is sliced in a grid, and let it be known that I prefer the edge pieces.. the center ones are not my favorite for holding. I guess you could knife and fork them... Nice variety of beers on tap

Larnell-Best Waiter Ever?

By Chris W |

Maybe so. We had a part of 3 in town for about a week. Dined at Pizano’s 3 times. Like the wings. The lemon chicken was strong. Meatball salad very good. Not a bad burger. But Larnell makes it. Just a great guy. Wants you to enjoy your visit. Super dude. Thanks!

Great Family Restaurant

By Pia M |

While visiting family in the area, we went out for dinner and had to try the deep dish pizza there. We were not disappointed. The service was good. It's a bit loud inside, but hey, we ate well.

Deep Dish

By Rodney M |

My wife wanted to try some Chicago style deep dish pizza, we stopped by here Thursday afternoon. The service was great and the pizza was too.

Good food / so-so waiter

By J-from-Marysville |

My wife and I came in about 5:00 on a Tuesday night. Nice local restaurant. We both had Italian dishes. Both were good and more than we could eat. Just wish our waiter was more interested in his job.

Great food, but bad policy

By Allen H |

First, the food was great. My son (21) said it redefined pizza for him. The pasta was really good. And the service acceptable. The problem was a glitch when it came time to pay the bill. We were in town for a sport tournement, Ten players on the team with families. It was parents at one table, and players at another table. We were told they would only give one check per table. We asked to speak to a manager. He was unhelpful. He said we were told at the door, we were not. When we asked about how much each family owed, he said one pay, and we split it ten ways. We asked how (meaning the split), and he said that there were apps such as venmo for that. That manager needs to go. Very rude talking to a group that owed probably one grand. Luckily i bumped into someone else when i went to ask for napkins or paper and i told him that we were going to figure out how owed what and that we would not ever come back. He told us to have each party come up and he would split the bill out. That employee saved the day and HE deserves to be manager. I hope he didn't get into trouble. But, if you're a small group, or can accomadate the one bill per policy, this place rocks for food and service.

The best Blackened Salmon Caesar I have had in a long time!

By hmt1019 |

The food was excellent - I had the opportunity to eat on the back deck/ patio and it was incredibly pleasant. Almost no street noise. Got the Mandarin Moose, Blackened Salmon Caesar and a deep dish personal pepperoni. Great, great and GREAT! Save a table for me next time, Pizano's!

Great pizza

We enjoyed the pizza very much. It was close to our hotel and we feed our entire family. Definitely recommend.

Not Bread, No Butter, No Tip

By Pacificlou |

Just had dinner here on quick visit, ordered our meals and when it came we asked for our bread. What's a italian dinner without bread, when we asked the waitress where's the bread that came with dinner, she has a smart remark and tells us no bread, no butter we ran out 3 hours ago, and she did it with attitude. Needless to say when I got the bill, no bread, no butter, no tip. Will never go back and will never recommend.

Try the tortillini

By Mary Ann C |

I dined out twice here while at a convention. Service is fast and we had no trouble with getting a table during the weekday around 6 pm. The tortellini that many had comments about is their specialty called Ann Marie's. It contains a blend of chicken and proscutto over a Rosa cream sauce. Staff claim this is the only place it can be found. I also tried their version of deep dish pizza. Best to order ahead since it takes 3o plus minutes. Now everyone has their favorites. I prefer the lighter flakey crust of Giodanos but Pizanos has the better filling with tasty marinara.

Fantastic Chicago Deep Dish!!!

By Todd S |

We were staying at the Marriott a block away and needed some Chicago Deep Dish and this was walking distance. So lucky because this place was fantastic! Great authentic deep dish and a cool bar space too! Loved it!

Good Pizza

By Traveler |

Very nice and clean establishment, great service. Had the thin crust pizza and was good, also was there on a Sunday during Chicago football game and they played music after a touchdown by the Bears. Memorable not the best Chicago pizza as stated on the menu by Oprah however the service and atmosphere takes it over the top.

Pizza is not edible. Thin crust came as a double dough.

By Michal B |

Very dissatisfied and to call this thin crust is horrid at least to say. I had to reorder from a place I never had issues. The art of pizza.

Chicago Pizza fix within walking distance!

By BlondeValor |

In town for gymnastics meet at McCormick Place and really didn't want to have to travel back into the heart of Chicago. Pizano's appeared to fit the bill on getting Chicago deep dish while being able to walk from the hotel. Was it the best pizza, no, but it was still very good. I'd probably add the buttered crust next time as the crust was the tipping point for me, and a bit dry/cracker like at the edges. Otherwise great tasting sauce and ingredients. Would go back if staying by McCormick again.

Business lunch

By Keith G. |

Was in town for a conference and we had opportunity to have lunch with a supplier we use often. Due to location of the event, we did not want to go to far. Restaurant is not far from the exhibition hall, which was nice. All ordered different things and all were very pleased, from the Chicken Lemon to the chicken parmigiana. I had the chopped salad and was very filling. Would recommend when in area.

Relaxing family friendly Italian restaurant easy walk from McCormick Place

By Karen J |

We were looking for deep dish Chicago pizza with a short walk from McCormick Place, since the weather was rainy and we were traveling with an infant. Read reviews of Pizano’s, and decided to try it. We were very pleased with the easy walk, the relaxing atmosphere, the friendly and attentive staff, and the delicious food! The deep dish pizza was much less crusty than traditional Chicago styles, but my husband liked it as well or bettter than some of the more well known ones. I particularly enjoyed the homemade tortellini- so creamy, and absolutely delicious with freshly grated Parmesan added. A great experience all around!

Great Chicago Pizza place

By spw439s |

We were in town for a conference and this place was within walking distance of the conference center. I wanted to try Chicago style pizza and was happy with what we had. We started the meal off with garlic cheese bread which came with a really favorable marinara sauce. We ordered a small pan pizza with cheese, peppers and sausage and it was really good. It was pricey however {$24 for a small pan pizza is a lot where I come from but maybe that is standard for Chicago). Our server was very good and friendly. He kept our water glasses full, acted like he wanted us to have a good time and even split the check up so we could pay separately. Overall, eating here was a good experience.

Good spot if near McCormick place

By Andrew T |

Great tortellini pasta, good ravioli. Also had deep dish pizza. Nice neighborhood on Indiana Ave. If in the area, a good place to go

Very good pizza, value for money

By E H |

We were here during a convention, so we had to wait a full hour after being seated before our orders were taken. It was crowded. Nevertheless, the food is very good. We all left full and happy.

Great Pizza - Awesome choices if eating alone

By The-TravellinDude |

Probably the best deep dish in Chicago. Totally different recipe than the other place. Travelling alone on business is always a challenge going out for pizza because of the size. The waitress recommended their personal size that only has 4 slices but you can have any combination of ingredients you like on it. Had their traditional wings as well. Not a stand out. There were not the worst wings ever but also not the best. They were just wings. Also asked the waitress for the story behind the story on the menu and she "had no idea".

Deep Dish

By themanofec |

We went in just to try the deep dish. We had a medium option, just cheese and it was enough for both of us. It takes 30 minutes and during that time, the staff did keep checking in on us. The crust was a highlight though I could have gone for some more sauce which was tasty.

I wouldn’t eat here again and it’s not ideal for business meals

By BMeghanG |

I never had deep dish pizza before, and because of this restaurant I don’t want to try it ever again. As soon as the Rudy’s Special was set down all I could see was the water pooling on the top - not appetizing. It was bland and I could only force myself to eat one slice. The three people with me agreed and were very disappointed. The calamari was good, but not great - not worth the high price when I can get better calamari cheaper elsewhere. Their chopped salad was ready good and we were able to share it netween 4 people easily! The bruschetta was also really good and I would highly recommend that as an app. If you do go here, get the salad and an app or two to share while your pizza cooks. The biggest problem I had with them was their inability to split a check. In most restaurants, each person at the table is able to get their own check or evenly split. Here, there’s only one check per table and can only be split between three forms of payment - so not ideal for business lunch or diner if you need to submit for reimbursement individually. I’d rate it as average if it wasn’t for the payment issue.

Not a Fan

By Chicago-BB |

The first time we ordered pizza from Pizano's I waited twenty minutes after arriving at the time the pizza was supposed to be ready. I chalked it up to new restaurant jitters, but when my pizza was ready the box was so light I wondered if they'd forgotten the pizza, even though we did order a thin crust.. We normally go to Lou's so we're used to a good, heavy pizza but even for a thin crust this was on the less than substantial side. The second time I visited for a working lunch and service wasn't up to snuff. They get busy because of McCormick conferences but honestly, the food isn't that great and if the service doesn't wow you, why bother? I have friends who love Pizano's so I might be in the minority. We might try another pizza, but when there are so many options and all really good, again, why bother?

Deep dish

By Jktchorne |

It was so good! They say while in Chicago have get a Chicago style pizza! This was best deep dish. Portion are really big and you go home with take out. Staff was nice and it was fun learning about history of Chicago pizza

Good pizza.

By Rory S |

Nice restaurant. Service good. Food was great. Not busy on a Wednesday night. Reasonable beer/wine selection.

Pretty good meal

By JediTraveller |

Decent meal/service. We were part of a large party but we were served buffet style which was probably the best way to do it. Food was pretty good. Not bad, not outstanding. Easy walk from McCormick Place.

Reviews were great.... food was ok

By Scott G |

I think the over-stated reviews influenced my rating, but really - this was just average pizza. The sauce was very good, as was the cheezy garlic bread. But there was so much cheese on the pizza, and very little pepperoni, that you could hardly taste it. This was the thin crust, not their thick crust. I would try again, but with lower expectations. Very close to convention center and hotels.

Amazing deep dish pizza

By Bryan L |

Ok so I am not a Chicago local so I have a limited frame of reference for comparing Chicago style deep dish pizza, but I thought it was amazing!! One of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. Had Meat Lovers Deep Dish. It was saucy, cheesy, meaty goodness with an amazing crispy crust. It was like happiness in a pan. I don’t think I would live here in the winter but I might try for that pizza.

Great atmosphere

By S. C |

We had just gotten in from a long travel day and the staff was so nice. Thus was a first trip to Chicago for most of us so we had to try Chicago style pizza and it was wonderful. The staff was so accommodating. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Good Traditional Italian Fare

By BuffaloJoe |

The location is convenient to McCormick place and an easy walk from the Marriott ad Hyatt. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating while the atmosphere is nice with a large bar area and separate dining area complete with red checker table cloths. The menu has a large selection of traditional Italian selections including Chicago style pizza. The only distraction was the limited desert selections which did not include cannoli, tiramisu or cappuccino.

good deep dish pizza

By terryprod |

I loved the restaurant layout of restaurant and was close to Marriott Hotel and convention center. Their deep dish pizza was good.

Quiet Saturday Pizza

By Eric J |

Wanted to have some good Chicago Style pie before leaving but did not want to relocate the car and pay exorbitant fees for parking. Staying at the nearby Marriott Marquis, this was a short brisk winter walk. Food came out quick and was hot until the end. Had the medium pizza with sausage, mushrooms, peppers and onions and the fried ravioli to start. Will always return when in the area.

Great food, one block from Marriott Marquis

By mjmorris009 |

We were staying at the Marriott Marquis for a conference and wanted to get out of the hotel for a business lunch. Restaurant is one block over and was a great setting for a casual lunch meeting. Much bigger inside than I imagined. Service was excellent and our lunches were very good. Pizzas take 35 minutes so we all ended up ordering sandwiches and salads which were very good. Perfect choice for a quick getaway from convention center or Marquis. They do take reservations.

By Vicki M |

Wonderful server, Michael! Delicious food and fun environment. Highly recommend this great place with a wonderfully convenient location.

Poor servjce

By Aiman T |

I have not had such a disappointing experience in a long time. To start, the staff did not allow us to sit outside, although there were customer outside until we left. The receptionist was rude to my wife when she entered through the wrong door. The server took a long time to come, did not explain the menu that, to our surprise, was very restricting. Most pizzas were as is, no modification. If you need some variety you have to build your own. That would have been fine if the server offered to build what we asked for and not just stand their, arms crossed, asking us to build it on our own. The salad was worse than what you get at a supermarket food counter. The pizza crust was extremely dry. The pizza was very greasy as if they added butter on top. The overwhelming flavor was garlic powder. But my test to give a meal a passing grade is how I sleep that night. That night I had one of the worst indigestions I have ever had after a salad with vegetable pizza and a light beer. So I doubt that I will dine there again.

Close to convention centre

By Robh3789 |

Not too many choices near the convention centre, so this place is just a few blocks from the west building of McCormick Place. But be prepared to wait (the waiter warned us when we order) about 30-40 min for the pizza. Tastes decent, but not as spectacular as I hoped.

Great atmosphere, great food, and outstanding service!

By Royce M |

We were staying at the new Marriott Marquis near McCormick Place and decided that we wanted to do something local. Pizano's was only a few blocks away, and are we ever so glad we took that short walk. Possibly the best calimari we've ever had, pizza was delicious, and our waiter (Gilberto) was over the top! On top of the great job he did with our order, he did us the extra favor of recommending a couple other 'don't miss' places in the loop! Might be a bit more pricey than your average pizza place, but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit there.

Classic food. Decent spot

By DSWeimar |

Close to our hotel. We came late after Bears game. Two bartenders both female. One really nice, other a bit rude. We sat at bar. We had drinks and food. The Italian sausage sandwich was ok. Too much cheese for me, the roasted peppers were bland but I loved the actual sausage. My buddy had the chicken parm. That was amazingly good. I liked the place but didn’t love it. It could be because it was nearing closing had no energy. Could just be me! Menu will have something for everybody.

Must East Here

By Debra K |

A fun place with very tasty food choices plus excellent pizza choices. The Hibiscus Beer was delicious.

Close to the convention center and WinTrust Arena

By Bill R |

We checked into the Marriott Marquis hotel just a couple blocks away and were anxious for a quick, but decent meal. My daughter and I decided to grab a couple salads and share a small deep dish pizza. It was warm out but a nice night, so we chose a table in the courtyard. The salad was fresh and the pizza was good, just filling enough for the two of us. One little quirk of this place and eating outside is that every time the parking gate would move back and forth in the lot adjacent to the courtyard, an annoying safety noise would chime until it was done.

Great Family Restaurant

By Mario R |

Server was super friendly, the food was delicious, and the prices were moderate. My daughter left the cover of her head phones, and I went back andwas able to recuperate it. Good uncomplicated meal!!!!!

Good food, service ...... not so much

By mehink |

We ate there two nights in a row while staying at The Marriott for a volleyball tournament. We tried to bring the whole team (about 30 w/ parents), but they refused to divide the tickets so only about six of us went. That probably cost them a couple hundred dollars, because they weren’t busy. The manager was rude and direct. Refused to allow kids to sit away from adults. The meat lovers deep dish was very good, but the crust was subpar. Good selection of beers on tap and a good environment. Service was slow. The second night we noticed a concert at Wintrust Arena. There were plenty of tables though we sat at the bar. We ordered Hot Mama’s Pasta, Pasta Vodka A “La” Strauss, and some wings as an appetizer. All the food came out at once. The Pasta Vodka was excellent. No bread, though it came with the dinner. Again, service was poor. They got substantially busier when the concert let out. We had to ask twice and wait over 15mins for refills and bread. When I questioned the manager he complained they were busy then confronted me by saying I’d snapped my fingers at him when I hadn’t. The bartender did comp a beer. The same manager got into a verbal altercation with another customer within minutes. Staff later said they had let several people leave earlier in the night when they shouldn’t have leaving them short staffed.

Must Eat!

By RedlegsWife |

We are in town for the Brownfields 2025 Conference and wanted to make sure we ate some authentic Chicago deep dish pizza! This place was an entire vibe, cozy, warm, welcoming! The Rudy Special deep dish was absolutely delicious and left us feeling entirely too full and completely satiated! This place is a must and would bring a bit of that signature European culture with a Chicago spin!

Kinda Underwhelmed

By Steven U |

I ordered this food via Grub Hub. A small sausage and cheese pizza with fresh basil came up to 35 dollars with taxes and tip. To be honest i kinda expected more since Chicago's known for their deep dish pizza... but to be honest, I couldn't tell what the difference is with the other pizzas, except maybe for the extra bit of cheese on the pie. LoL.

Great Deep Dish Pizza

By Maine-ahh |

This was within walking distance of our hotel and a nice surprise. Three of us split a medium deep dish pizza and couldn't finish it all. Of course we also split an appetizer of calamari which was also quite good. They have a limited beer selection, but it includes locals which is always nice.

Horrible experience

By jbnash80 |

The manager was extremely rude. I was really looking forward to eating there... what a disappointment. I would not go back or recommend to anyone.
