Neapolitan without the air fare

By DASimmons |

The pizzas are cooked in a pizza oven and the ingredients are hand picked by the owners. Vince and Carla bring you old country taste without having to pay for air fare. However! If you want they host tours to Italy also. regards, Dan & Gail

They make great italian food. The Pizzas are very very good.

By Fred Q |

We eat there often. Great pizzas and big variety of Italian food. I have never had a bad meal here. The owner and staff are great. It is very popular parking can be a problem. That is a good sign.

Great Food, Awesome Atmosphere!

By Nikki H |

By far my favorite restaurant from a week-long stay in Seattle - and we did a lot of eating out! We went at night, around 7:30. The parking was meager, but the food was incredible! We shared a salad, one pizza, and 2 desserts between 4 adults, and it was perfect! Great value and the waitress was a lot of fun. It's on the southwest end of Lake Washington, and the drive to get there was beautiful. You must go when you're in Seattle!

What a great place

By 4fromkansas |

Brought here by my son, he said "You'll love it mom" and he was right. 3000 miles away and I wish I could have one of their pizzas now. When I go back it is a "have to go back" place. It's one of his favorite spots and I can see why. It's a small place but very charming, offers not only great pizza but entrees and more. They were following all the Covid 19 guidelines, open kitchen so you can see your pizza being put in the woodfired oven. I thought it was a little pricey for pizza but the kids said that is wasn't for the area, so I will refer to their knowledge. Overall it was a Great place.

Fab Pizza restaurant

By Coops1962 |

wood fired pizza - thin and crispy - lots of choice for pizzas and toppings, good choice of craft ales and wines at a reasonable price, friendly welcome and good service

Amazing Neopolitan Food and Experience!

By Johnfili |

No matter what you order at Pizzeria Pulcinella, you will be happy. They are certified for Neopolitan pizza and produce amazing pizzas. All food and drink at the restaurant will bring you to Italy and will provide delight. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and will guide you through an amazing meal if you want. I give this place the highest recommendations if you are in the area.

What a disappointment!

By GRC732 |

This was the first of several restaurants that we visited while in Seattle. I must say that we were very disappointed in the cuisine as well as the service. The pizza and salad was mediocre , at best. it, unfortunately was recommended to us by a local. Your local pizza chain has better pizza, salads, and hopefully better service. Pricey for what you got.

The Best Italian Style Pizza

By GotToExplore |

This place is a real find. It has the best Italian style pizza I have has (outside of Europe). The restaurant itself is very nice and family friendly. Also, the spumoni ice cream is wonderful. We will be visiting this place often.

Amazing stop before the airport

By memorymakerstravel |

We were sight seeing for the day and googled places to eat nearby and completely happy we found this gem. Amazing service, quick, and delicious.

Excellent Neopolitan Pizza

By lotsohobbies |

We went during a visit to Seattle. Small, friendly place. We are outside. There was some traffic noise, but it was still pleasant. The food was superb. We split a pizza with white sauce and chicken. It was plenty of food for 2. All the flavors blended well. Pizza had the authentic flavor of Naples. The cannoli was incredible. Very reasonably priced and good atmosphere. Highly recommend.

No imported Italian flour as advertised

By luvbinmom |

Your website advertises flour from Italy. When we arrived at the restaurant and double checked it was confirmed by staff it is NOT Italian wheat as advertised.

Neighborhood Jewel

By Mary F |

Love the atmosphere. Great service. We got the marinara pizza & added pepperoni, cheese & peppercini. Very, very garlicky. Spicy. Thin crust: delicious flavor.

Wood Fired Pizza worth the drive

By Alec D |

Pizzeria Pulcinella is a great pizza place on Rainier Ave S. The service is very pleasant. The pizza and salads are both very good. I go as often as I can. If you still haven't been you need to go!

Best local pizza!

By Cheryl L |

This is one of our favorite local restaurants! Pizza, salad, and a carafe of wine. Great atmosphere and perfect for couples and families. It can get busy so reservations are recommended. I remember when it was the old Lakeside Tavern (they still have the sign).

Exceptional an experience not to be missed 12*/10

By Helen_mumof3 |

Without doubt the best pizza we have ever eaten and we have eaten a lot of pizza within our combined 100+ years of age! HIGHLY RECOMMEND the FOOD and the customer SERVICE was friendly, polite and efficient. Relaxed AMBIENCE, pleasant DECOR and TRADITIONAL wood fired oven. Toilets were CLEAN and fresh and decorated with lovely italian memorabilia

so authentic

By Charline E |

This pizza place is the real deal, waitress was friendly gave good advice what to order and spinach strawberry salad was great as was pizza and wine

Great Pizza

By Vithle |

One of the best pizza places in Seattle. Nice thin crust that holds up with great flavor. Parking available in the back.

Very good Pizza

By DaveZ111 |

Small out of the way place, has a rustic and “locals” kind of feel. Service was really friendly and quick. Make no mistake, this is primarily a pizza place. They have a few apps (the meatballs are fantastic) and 3 pasta dishes. Limited bar has wine and a few beers on tap. The pizza was really excellent. This is a place where the pizza dough has a very distinctive taste ( as opposed to the normal Bread “no” taste). We could have just as easily just had the pizza crust by itself. Overall , really good place to go for pizza in the area

Yummy and Convenient!

By HoneyBubbas |

We had delivery pizza at the hotel. It was so good, thin crust and delicious pizza. It tasted like real Italian pizza, and the Caesar salad with the garlic finish to the dressing was yummy. I wish they had put real tomatoes on the margherita pizza, but perhas they don't do that in Washington. Overall, very good pizza, and I would get it again!

Closest to True Italian Wood Fired Pizza I've had

By Kat T |

Hey Ciao, I lived in Italy for 2 years and this pizza is a authentic as you can get here... delicious wood fired pizza, neat old building that creates a great atmosphere especially at nights, I've taken multiple bosses and friends and family here and everyone loves it. Thanks, and sorry but don't make the mistake of thinking Vince's in Renton is the same, it's the same owners but this is a way better all around experience AND Pizza!

Great family restaurant

By stuman17 |

I met for dinner with two business partners. It was my first time at this restaurant. My partners have both been here before. I was greated upon entering. The service was efficient and friendly. I ordered wine and a pizza. Both were excellent.we spent several hours talking. The restaurant closed but they never rushed us to leave. I highly recommend this restaurant for both business and pleasure.

don't miss if you want pizza

By james s |

A great place for pizza. I had the marinara pizza with portabello mushroom and bell peppers. An excellent choice. A nice wine list and great service

Warm, rustic, amazing food, reasonable food prices

By FeistyBrain |

My companion kept raving "this is what it felt like in Italy"! He was referring to the old brick, the wood-fired pizza oven, the tight quarters. Well, and the amazing food, of course. Pizzaria Pulchinella is co-owned by Vince Mattola, who also operates the local Vince's restaurants, founded in 1957 by Vince's father in the Rainier Beach neighborhood just about 2 miles from this place. But Pizzaria Puchinella is far, far classier than the three remaining Vince's restaurants, with it's white marble-topped tables and authentic and certified Valoriani wood fire oven from Italy. The beautiful back bar is from the Lakeside Tavern, which operated until about ten years ago in the building which dates from 1911. Like a sparse few other Neapolitan pizza places in Seattle, the dough and crust is what makes the pizza so special. But unlike Tutta Bella and others, this place just feels, well, real. No grease-dripping thick-crust 1/2" thick cheese smothering everthing here! The fresh mozzarella used sparingly enough that you actually taste the divine marinara sauce, and even better, the authentic Italian meats. Pizza with eggplant parmigiana? Prosciutto? Yes and yes! The pizzas are about 12", and most people get one for themselves. I would rather get a couple of their great side salads (about $5 each, $9-10 for a large) and split a pizza, if we could ever agree on which pizza to get. Instead, we split a small Caesar and got two entrees. The most expensive thing on the menu is just $15 (it's a pizza)! For those wanting something else, there are a couple of pasta items - the cannelloni ($12.50) was very, very good, though actually more like a manicotti since it lacked the customary spinach-meat filling. Polenta with spicy sausage and marinara sauce was only $10 - and very filling. There are a variety of antipasti ($5-13) and several dolci (desserts, $3-9). Items are ala carte - otherwise, the prices are very similar to Spaghetti Factory! Well, except for the wine. The cheapest bottle on the wine list was $25; a full carafe of House Wine is $27 (gulp). Instead, we partook in the very reasonably priced draft beer: Peroni for $5? Please! The service is efficient and professional. Pizzas only take 90 seconds to bake in that amazing oven, although handling that authentic crust and assembling the incredible toppings takes craftsmanship worthy of a short wait. Part of the ambiance is actually the somewhat cramped nature of the seating. Tables are close - that's what my companion felt was so similar to Italy. It creates warmth and camaraderie, and also an opportunity to swoon over the items ordered by the people sitting next to you. Unbelievably, all of the children were well-behaved - and doted on by the staff - making the experience pleasant for even child-phobes. On a Friday night, the place was absolutely packed with a diverse mix of wealthy older local residents, hipster couples, families, people of many backgrounds. In short, Pizzaria Pulchinella was filled with people who love this neighborhood.

Nice place, good food.

By Rosaegg |

We got there on our way to the airport an we were greatly surprised with the quality of the food, it was really good and the staff is very nice. The place is clean and average prices.

I Don't Get It

By Arthur B |

This place gets a zilion 5-dot review and lots of 4-dotters as well. The pizza, however, was wet and limp. Although the crust was done enough on the bottom, it wasn't done through hence as I said - wet and limp. The flavor was good, the pepperoni was good, and the salad before-hand (Caesar) was also good. But above all it's a PIZZERIA and the pizza should be outstanding. It was far from it.

Perfect neighborhood pizza joint!

By Keli S |

The charming building, the friendly staff, and the wood-fired pizzas are a winning combination. We've tried several of their pizzas and a favorite is the "Enzo" with smoked mozzarella, sausage, and rapini.

Excellent Margherita Pie and Calzone Pizza Too!

By Lance H |

A little out of the way, but, worth the trip. Definitely one of the best in the Seattle area. The Margherita Pie is really good and the Calzone Pizza is definitely different.

A go to place for wood fired pizza

By Alec D |

Open for lunch and dinner Pizzeria Pulcinella is a great choice if you love wood fired pizza. It's located within walking distance from my house so I often will go here if I don't feel like going out of the neighborhood. The service is very good.

Great authentic pizza and fabulous friendly service

By Cathy R |

Enjoyed dinner with friends last night. So glad we went early! The place was filled up by 5:30-6 p.m. Michelle A. did a great job of taking orders and serving promptly. We all shared salads and enjoyed our pizzas. You can definitely share and leave feeling satisfied. We'll have to go again soon!

Good food, service issues

By Annab160 |

The pizza was very good and authentic Italian, and priced very well. (you pay the same or more at a chain pizza place and this was much better) We enjoyed the pizza but due to the poor service we will not go back. Our server was clearly not educated on 'if the customer wants to pay for a "few pieces of bread or anything else we can get quickly, aka Now, give the customer what they want, even if it's not on the menu". We thought we had convinced her that we would pay whatever for a small basket of bread right away, but it never came. The pizza came in about 15 minutes, right as I was tired of trying to catch A servers eye and was getting up to go ask the hostess for bread.

Love going here!!!

By Susan4563 |

We were told about this restaurant by a friend who is from Naples - he said the pizza is as close to any he had at home - not having a comparison, all I can say is that it is delicious. I also love the atmosphere of Pizzeria Pulcinella - just wish it was closer to where we live, but well worth the drive.

Classic family pizza and more

By william p |

Wood fired pizza oven, Thin crust, simple toppings. Calzone and salads. Antipaste plates. Good red wines and beer on tap. Friendly place to be with other families or a date with your wife.

Delicious!

By momof3boysWA |

This is by far the best pizza place we have been to in the Seattle area. It reminded us of the pizza we had in Italy earlier this year. The wait staff was all smiles and incredibly friendly, the pizza and cream puffs were amazing and the atmosphere was charming and cozy. We will definitely be back!

As good as Naples

By katmckenna200 |

Absolutely delicious! Ignore the negative reviews, this place is awesome. Real traditional Italian Pizza. Delicious buffalo mozzarella. Both pizza and pasta were excellent. Staff attentive and very friendly. Also the limoncello is some of the best I have tasted. Couldn't believe the quality for a city centre restaurant. Not touristy, just great food and atmosphere. Well worth it. A little bit of Italy in Prague.

some of the best pizza I have ever had!

By freereignministries |

We stopped in for a family get together and ordered two large pizzas and cannolloni for dessert. Really good pizza , thin crust which we like..the kids loved getting root beer. This was a treat! we knew nothing about it but so glad we tried it. Will definitely go back again when in town

Perfect Neapolitan pizza

By mttinc |

We stopped in on a Tuesday a few minutes before 9 which was their last seating time. The staff was friendly, gracious and didnt make us feel rushed. We started with Ceasar salads that were crisp and fresh, although I felt had a little too much dressing. We ordered the Mediterranean pizza and it was out to us in minutes. It was very flavorful with a perfect chewy crust! A great dinner experience.

Great wood fired pizza. Excellent staff

By paiau |

Great wood fired pizza. Excellent staff

We love this place

By Zumwalt |

We love their pizza and we wish they were closer to our house. Do call ahead to make a reservation on the weekends as they have limited seating. I wish the owners would open another location, even another location of Vince's would be most appreciated

A friendly neighborhood spot

By CathyLen |

Excellent brick oven pizza, crisp salads, good wines, killer cannoli, reasonable prices. Try the fava bean and onion side dish -- very tasty, and probably even good for you. Friendly, genuine, service and the owners are hands-on to ensure that quality stays great.

Unexpectedly Outstanding!

By misopiso88 |

My son and I were coming from the airport and stopped at Pizzeria Pulcinella simply because it was on our way from Seatac to our final destination. What a surprise! Awesome ambiance and pizza was DELISH!!! We ordered 1 pizza (mushroom) and 1 salad and shared them both. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back.

Very Good wood fired pizza

By Alec D |

I keep hoping that more people will discover this gem in the south end. The food and the atmosphere are both worth a visit. Two of my favorite pizza's are the Sorrento and Giovanni. If you haven't tried this place what are you waiting for? Go!!

Delicious, Authentic Pizza and a Cozy, Delightful Experience

By Birdie2050 |

This restaurant pizzeria has everything you want -- wood fire oven with pizza perfectly baked (and not charred too dark), a great selection of local beers on tap, as well as Italian beer selection in bottles, creative, crisp salads and dinner entres. Pizzeria Pulcinella is a member of the of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, so you can be certain you are getting the best ingredients made by master pizza makers. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating to our complicated pizza order. They graciously added arugula on top of the baked pizza even though that option wasn't on the menu. Besides the wonderful pizza and salads, the restaurant serves a variety of pasta dishes, including lasagna alla Napoletana. Meatballs and sauce were outstanding. Desserts choices are impressive, including profittaroli, cannoli, crema al Limone, a signature dessert baked in the wood fire oven and dark chocolate cake. The spumoni ice cream was lovely. The restaurant is cozy and delightfully decorated. Even though it looks like a plain Jane tavern from outside, inside it's an attractive and relaxing spot. You will be so pleased with this choice.

Awesome local pizza in Neapolitan style... Highly recommend

By SteveSzi |

Awesome local pizzeria with great food! Pizza is super, drinks are abundant choices, desserts are super... Reasonable prices. Highly recommend

Delicious lunch

By Joan M |

Such a great, authentic place. Everything was perfect - atmosphere, service, wine, food, dessert, prices - perfect. The seasonal appetizer of fresh figs with Gorgonzola and honey, popped in the oven and served with warm focaccia triangles was scrumptious. The pizza is always great. The desserts though - cannoli to die for and real spumoni ice cream - heaven. Mangia!

Great pie

By JBoise67 |

Went here with a group of boys and it was delicious. Each person ordered their own pie, a couple of salads, and it was very good.

Great pizza in a nice atmosphere

By BigGlasses09 |

This is some of the finest Naples-style pizza anywhere in Seattle. The appetizers are also very tasty. And with a charming waitstaff, this is our go-to place for a fun dinner. So happy it is in the neighborhood.

Very good authentic Italian food

By K3322NTelizabethm |

The pizzas are great and many of the other dishes are good as well. We have gone there several times with large groups and they always handle it very well. The service is very good.

Welcome to Washington!

By Michelle C |

We just flew in from California and were starving. Great dining experience. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. The food is outstanding, very authentic Italian. Try it, you won't be disappointed. (My son just asked if he could marry his pizza)...

An Italian Italian place

By Kateetake |

Love this place! Actually the first great Italian place I ate at in the USA. Normally American places have these sugar added sweet sauces or weird 'Italian' sausage, but real peperoni and amazing olive oil (with peppers if you like spicy). And stone oven. Staff was very pleasant, clean and helpful; not in your face but there when you need them. Nice seating too, with Italian modern music and old pictures etc and a view of the lake (a bit). Amazing!

Delicious Neopolitan Food!

By traavelers2c |

First of all the name. I knew I had heard of Pulcinella but had to look him up. He is a frequent character is puppet shows in Southern Italy, "described as the direct expression of a people as lively and spirited as the Neapolitans." Now to the food! It's hard to choose what to order since every item sounds divine. An online reviewer cleverly said, you could throw a dart at the pizza menu and not go wrong! The salads and cannelloni were great too. Desserts sounded heavenly but I had no room.

One of, if not, the best pizza in Seattle

By K T |

Visited Pozzeria Pulcinella for dinner in August 2021. Two tables were available for outdoor dining and we took that option. Ordered Mediterranean (vegan) and Sorento (with meat). Both were amazing. The crust is so crispy outside and tender inside. It’s one of the best pizza I’ve had. Highly recommend.

Great place for wood fired pizza on the south end

By Alec D |

If you still haven't tried Pizzeria Pulcinella what are you waiting for. The food is very good and the service is pleasant. You can't go wrong on any of the pizza's. I go often as it is not far from where I live. But it's worth a visit even if you're coming from further away.

Nearly Perfect

By adscram14 |

Went here on a whim because we were starved after a flight from Charlotte. It was about 1:00 when we got here, and it was pretty empty (not that that was too surprising for a Sunday). The place is so authentic looking--when we pulled up, a worker was bringing in fresh wood for the oven--great! The inside is small but homey and as others said, it could be a great date spot or just a casual lunch. I got the lunch special--an 8" pizza with two toppings. I got arugula and prosciutto. I added a side caesar for $1.50. I believe the pizza was $8 or $8.50, meaning my whole lunch didn't top $10 before tax--wow! Before we got the pizza, my dad noticed that he had lipstick on his glass. That's disgusting and the only reason this place gets 4 instead of 5. The waitress said that they had been having problems with that...I wonder what that means. The salad was good and the bread served with it very good as well. The pizza was delicious. The arugula and prosciutto were both excellent, and there was a perfect cheese:sauce:bread ratio. Absolutely phenomenal pizza. Plus it was fast. I'd say 10-15 minutes from salad to pizza compared to 30-60 minutes at Mellow Mushroom. This has got to be one of the best pizza places in Seattle. Other than the dirty glass, near perfect!

Great Neapolitan pizza in South Seattle

By Mark N |

Excellent Neapolitan pizza located in south Seattle. Had a caesar salad and a Margharita pizza. Very tasty. Fast, friendly service! Busy at dinnertime. Some off-street parking available.

Great Neopolitan Pizza

By Neil F |

This place has GREAT Neapolitan pizza. So far the best that I've had since moving to the Seattle area. One downside is that they can get VERY crowded, very fast. Go early, or make a reservation!

Loved, loved, loved the pizza

By Jonesgo |

How do they do it - thin crust that isn't burnt but the outsides are soft and chewy. It was just about perfect pizza and I really do wish I lived closer (1000 miles is too far for a pizza fix). Very cute place in an old, stand alone building that has so much character. Service was great but I will admit we were there for lunch and it was pretty empty. It's right across from Lake Washington so the drive there is nice.

Neapolitan pizza, hometown friendly

By jonbsan |

What a friendly, pretty little restaurant! And then to find out they serve true Neapolitan style - wood fired, brick oven! - pizza. Yum! The location is very convenient, on Rainier right beside lake Washington - unfortunately no lake view, but still a great, candle-lit atmosphere. Romantico! Nice wine selection, with a range of prices. The salads were tasty, minor complaint: slightly overdressed. They pay attention to the timing which is nice, letting you finish your first glass of wine before the salad, and then time to finish your salad before the piping hot pizza arrives. And then the pizza arrives - delicious. Crispy crust, simple fresh ingredients- just what we wanted.

Great Pizza, Service!

By maryk99218 |

Visiting family in Seattle and went with everyone tonight to this pizza place. What a great experience! Fabulous salads, pizza and beer -- and the waiter was super attentive to our group, even to the kids with us. I can't wait to go back next time we're in that area!

Authentic Italian Pizza & More

By vmb |

Pulcinella is a cozy neighborhood spot with great thin crust pizzas and other Italian offerings. Their cannelloni is especially excellent. For a small restaurant, their wine offerings are also very good. We feel fortunate that Pulcinella is only a 10 minute drive for us.

The REAL deal

By mrguido2016 |

I am originally from Italy and I know a thing or two about good food and great pizza. If you want to eat pizza as good as that made in Italy make sure to visit Pulcinella. My wife and I brought a friend along for lunch. I had the Margherita, so as to fully enjoy the original pizza without being distracted by other flavors. It was delicious and so was the salad I ordered to go with it. My wife and our friend had mushrooms added on and loved it! I will be back here every single time I will visit Seattle.

One of the better wood fired pizza places in the city

By Alec D |

Just took a friend to Pizzeria Pilcinella for their first time. We had the Sorrento pizza which was delicious. The food is consistently very good every time I go. If you like wood fired pizza you need to try this place.

The pizza was out of this world!!!

By SaraAntonLargo |

We had lunch here yesterday because we wanted to eat pizza and it had to be in the vicinity of the Museum of Flight. We are so happy that this place came up and we decided to go there!!! Our pizza was delicious! It had a tasty thin base and it had a bunch of toppings and many of them so you could taste them in every bite! The place is nice and clean too, with friendly and serving staff. Please don't miss an opportunity to go to this pizzeria, as it is great!!!

Good wood fired pizza

By Alec D |

Pizzeria Pulcinella is my neighborhood pizza place. My most recent visit was just a little off their high standards. Something was different with the pizza doe...not bad, but not as good as it normally is. Still delicious though.

Always on top

By seemyeyes |

Service is always on point. If you want it fast..... getting in and out or slow with several glasses of wine. The apple wood fired pizza is one of my go to restaurants. It never disappoints. The salads are great I would suggest to share it... They are nice and large. Any pizza will do for sure. They don't have a huge wine section but it is very nice for the size of the restaurant. I always love the house in a wine glass:) you can't go wrong. Dinner for four in and out with tip less than $90.00 bucks.

A hidden gem!

By Dreamy7174 |

Been passing this place for a long time and kept wondering why it's always full of people so we decided to try. This place serve authentic wood fire grilled pizza and pasta. The place was busy on a Friday night and we thought our order will take a while. Surprisingly, our food came within 10 minutes and it was so good. The only problem is the parking. Price is good too. Will definitely go back.

Great pizza and setting.

By Marc13510 |

First trip to Pizzeria Pulcinella. We did not have reservations and as it was a Friday night the place was busy. They had room for us at the marble counter bar which overlooked the kitchen. After ordering it was great watching them roll out the dough and make the pizzas. A nice selection of beer, wine, Italian sodas and colas is offered too. Will go back.

Great surprise after a surprising hike!

By TheWalterpstras |

Who knew there was a Dead Horse Canyon in Seattle?! We found this restaurant at the bottom of the hill after a wonderful hike and loved the food and the atmosphere. Wood fired pizzas were really good with generous toppings but my choice of polenta and sausage is what will bring me back to this great little neighborhood joint.

Favorite Pizza

By MarleneWTBird |

Such a cool place. Everything is great. Pizza is thin crust gourmet. House wines are good, Spumoni ice cream such a treat and on Friday nite a really great singer who plays just about anything you request.

good pizza

By Edmund1020 |

This out of the way pizzeria is really good. They have sadness and some pasta too. If you are near Ranier S in south Seattle this is a good place to have some pizza/pasta and a beer.

Wonderful food, inviting atmosphere

By pvschmieder |

On a cold Seattle afternoon my wife, daughter and I walked into this local restaurant and were warmly greeted, both the pleasant fire burning and gracious hostess who seated and also served us. I started with a craft ale while my wife and daughter each enjoyed a glass of red wine with our complimentary panini appetizer. We ordered perfect caesar salads to start and finished with a large artichoke and pepperoni pizza plus their Italian club sandwich prepared on their homemade panini bread, all of which we shared. The portions were ample and we were heartily satisfied with our entire dining experience.

Tasty wood-fired pizzas

By LMK101 |

The pizzas are large enough for two, unless you are particularly hungry. There are plenty of toppings. The crust is thin and does overwhelm the pizza. A good neighborhood pizza place.

Finally made it here and loved it

By Steve F |

I've wanted to come here for so long - the lure of the upside down sign on my frequent bike rides around Lake Washington was finally satisfied tonight. We tried two pizzas and a meatball appetizer and life was good. I would prefer it if the pies were baked just a tad longer, as the chewy crust was a bit soggy in the center, but that's personal preference. Everything else was plus and double plus. We loved the open spacious neighborhood atmosphere, the friendly service and the very quick meal prep. Meatballs and marinara sauce were great as were the pizzas. Definitely want to come back for more.

Best Pizza in Town

By HomeGrownOregonian |

This is a gem tucked away on the side of Lake Washington almost into Renton. The building itself is full or character and charm. The service is great and the food is even better. We eat here often and really appreciate that they have added a seasonal rotating beer on tap. Everyone who comes in is treating like a local or regular, great spot! Well done!!

Incredible Neapolitan Pizza - Don't hesitate & check this place out!

By Leb3k |

We were traveling from Nashville and needed a break from all of the Asian cuisine and decided on pizza - so glad we did & found Pizzeria Pulcinella! This pizza was amazing! I ordered the Giovanni & my fiancé ordered the margherita and we both enjoyed our pizza so much. It came out hot & fresh and very quickly. The ingredient you could tell were super fresh and the dough was freshly made. I wish we didn't live 1,200 miles away or we would be weekly regulars here - make sure you check them out!

Authentic italian pizza

By Molly C |

We had both the pizza and calzone and both were delicious. I'm married to an italian, so finding pizza that is close to what we get when we visit family in Italy is difficult in the US. However, this was true to the italian way and was very similar to what you'd get in Italy. It was a delight. Because the pizza was so great, we also tried the cannoli and Profittaroli, which my spouse was really looking forward to. The cannoli wasn't the best I'd ever had (keeping in mind that I've had cannoli in Sicily), but it was good, especially for the US, where is difficult to find s really good ricotta to use in the dessert). My spouse wasn't impressed by the Profittaroli. Overall though, this place is a WIN. Best pizza we've had since we left San Antonio (Doughs pizzeria).

Fun and Friendly

By Katie M |

Been here 3 times with friends and each time had wonderful wine and tasty food. Relaxed atmosphere and delicious pizza.

A must visit while in WA

By Adriana F |

Food was really delicious, the place is really cozy and the service was great! Highly recommended. First good pizza in WA in the four years I have lived here.

The most amazing pizza and Italian food, ever!

By Johnfili |

The pizzas are over the top. They are cooked in a certified oven and they offer some great toppings. The pizzas are only a part of the offerings. All salads, entrees, and desserts are fantastic and the staff treats you like family. I can’t say enough about this restaurant.

Eat here ALL the time!

By Suzanne W |

We eat out a lot and find ourselves going back to PP 2 out of 3 meals. It's the best pizza locally. Fantastic atmosphere, wine and service, as well.

Amazing food...a must!

By mousielover |

We had seen this restaurant on a top 10 for best pizza and thought we would try it. It is in an obscure part of town and is a very small restaurant, but had a great atmosphere. They make authentic Neapolitan style pizza in a brick oven which is out in the open for you to watch it being made. They use apple wood in the oven and I could taste a faint bit of it and it made the flavor of the pizza amazing. Quality ingredients on the pizza and the salad we got. One small complaint that the soup we had was salty, and this is coming from a person who loves salt. The rest of the food was outstanding, I could not downgrade them at all. We will be going back for sure.

Great food, service and decor

We had our 50th anniversary party here yesterday. It‘s fantastic venue for an intimate gathering (We had around 35) . So nicely decorated with great service, and of course great good. It‘s one of our favorite places in Seattle for pizza, antipasti and dishes prepared the way you would expect to find in Southern Italy. Everyone was impressed. A local gem.

Cut above average

We've eaten at the Pulcinella several times since it opened, and always enjoyed it. The pizzas are a little unusual, and have all been delicious. A pizza and a salad works well for the two of us, The staff are friendly, helpful and proficient and the chef has twice entertained our three-year-old grandson by making him a personal pizza and baking it while the boy watched the whole process. This was an endearing personal touch.

Great Neapolitan pizza

By Alec D |

If you live south near Lake Washington there is a great place for Neapolitan pizza. It's located on Rainier Ave just across from Lake Washington. The service is very good. The last time I went I shared the Caprese salad and Giovanni pizza. I always enjoy going.

Great date night spot!

By Erik S |

My wife and I went here Saturday night for a date night and it was very special. Being a "local" this was a fun place to find. One of my student's told me about it and were glad he did. Nice local place with an old world feel, but up to date accommodations. The staff was fabulous and the Pizza Chef's are Great! We had a blast, followed up with a walk at Coulon beach park. Can't say enough about it. Just give it a try, I think you'll agree.

Good little pizza joint

By Charles P |

Five of us went here after work for dinner for a thoroughly pleasant experience. I had the pear gorgonzola salad (which was excellent) and the lasagna (which was good). Several others had pizza that they raved about, and the wine selection was great! I will come back here again for a beer and a pizza when I am in town.

Great little place

This is a great little place in the south end of Seattle. It's a neighborhood kind of restaurant, with no other restaurants or bars anywhere close by. I've been here 4 or 5 times over the years. The pizzas, sandwiches, salads, etc. that I've had here have always been good. The staff are always friendly and efficient.

Good pizzas and friendly

Very delicious Italian style pizzas. Minestrone soup is also very good. They have enough vine menu to taste. Family friendly.

Deteriorated under new management

By VNM2014 |

This restaurant used to be my favorite, mainly because the previous owner had managed it himself for 50+ years. He would stand at the front desk, welcome people, take orders, and ensure that staff members were present and courteous. There appears to be a change in the ownership. We ordered our dinner on line. The staff made an error. There was no quality check and gave us a wrong item. Upon reaching home, we found a wrong item (a meat item for a vegetarian family). When I called, the staff had no apologies; simply asked me to make a 30 minute return trip to receive the correct item. When I returned to the restaurant, again, no apologies. I was told that two young owners were sitting in the back. They were hearing the conversation, did not get up or apologize either. I do not know if they were simply being lazy, unconcerned about customers or unskillful. Eggplant parmigiana was fine but the salad by this time was wilted, the dressing was incorrect and the bread was cold and stale. There was hardly anyone in the dining room and no other customers were waiting. I will try not to order from this restaurant.

The Best crust

We happened to be staying very near this place on a resent trip to Seattle. We had a big family party and ordered about 15 pies. Gabby the owner was so sweet. the food was outstanding. loved it and would love to go back some time.

Insanely good

We stopped in tonight on a whim because every time we drive by this place it's busy. By chance, we got in before the dinner rush. Enjoyed a delicious Caesar salad, and two pizzas. Both of them had immaculately fresh and tasty toppings. The dough was perfectly chewy. Literally the best pizza I've had in years. This pizza spends about 90 seconds in the oven and it's definitely adequate to cook everything, but I have to say, I missed that little bit of crispy cheese. That being said, still delectable and amazing. Can't wait to go back.

The best pizza and atmosphere around!

By Johnfili |

Everything I have had here (and I have had most everything!) is excellent! The salads are fresh and creative. The pizzas and calzone are hand made and cooked in a wood-fired oven and the deserts are sinful! Everything is fantastic and the staff takes care of you like you were family. This place is the best!

Great Italian food.

By Terry W |

Our group went for lunch here as it was within walking distance from where we were staying. Everyone loved the food as there was a variety from pizza to lasagna and something for vegetarians as well. Love the upside down sign both inside and outside. Great marketing tool. Highly recommend.

Highly Recommend, amazing atmosphere and service!

Service like an actual Italian restaurant, unlike any American service I've seen. Actual service. Very tasty food traditional great atmosphere!

Sandwiches are great, Pizza is OK

By dansonman22 |

I believe they might only serve the sandwiches at lunchtime. But if you can get one-- do it! There are all very tasty! The Italian sub is my favorite. My mom likes the rosemary chicken, however she requests balsamic vinegar on top instead of the Caesar dressing that it comes with. She recommends trying it both ways and deciding what you like better. The atmosphere of the restaurant is super cute and makes for an adorable date. However, the downfall is the actual pizza. I have tried it on multiple occasions and unfortunately leave disappointed every time. A part of me feels confused when I read the reviews of people saying this is as good as pizza straight from Italy. That makes me question how good Italian pizza actually is. Comparing this to New York pizza, which in my opinion, is the best, it is very mediocre and disappointing. Grading it without comparing it to anything else my biggest complaint is that they never seem to cook it long enough. I expect a wood fired pizza to be flat, crispy, and able to withstand the weight of the toppings without limply flopping down. This pizza has never met those expectations. It is always soggy, even if you eat it inside the restaurant, right away. If you take it out, it's even worse. While the taste is there, pizza just isn't pizza if you can't pick up a big slice, fold it in half, hear the crisp crunch of the crust, and taste the bite crumbling into your mouth as the smooth cheese runs down and the toppings are cooked to perfection. Like most pizzas in this state, it is a flimsy slice that everything slimes off of the minute you try picking it up. If they could figure out how to actually make and keep the crust crunchy without burning it, then they would earn an excellent rating.
