Excellent location, really sophisticated and cool ambience. Fish consistently good quality. We specially appreciate the exquisite desserts here!

Nice newer place in the Domain. Parking can be tough. Lots of great booths to sit in. Service was slow but the food was all quite good. Not cheap but worth it.

Plank Seafood Provisions On a nice Saturday morning we arrived at 11:00 AM to enjoy an early lunch before a long day hanging out at the Domain. We were guests number 2 and like a TV show we recently watched, ‘Ted Lasso’, requested firmly a table next to a window. Humor aside we were seated in outdoor patio facing the front of the restaurant. It was an excellent seating location. The menu had plenty of seafood options. Every order entree is cooked after you order it and when ready delivered straight to your table without waiting for other orders from your table. I selected the Wood Grilled - Redfish And it was unbelievably good. The fish was very tasty and the veggies it sat on too. My wife’s catfish was just as good. It was our first time here so our waiter explained the whole experience from seafood sustainability sources to chef’s cooking techniques. The decor is very cool and seem to be a place more geared to a romantic setting and office group gatherings. It’s definitely among the top five restaurants serving fish in my book.

If your lucky enough to actually wander into this restaurant without previous knowledge, be prepared to start calling all your friends and family, and photographing each dish, so you can brag about the culinary seafood delights your mother warned you about as a kid..lol, and then order the squid Ink fettucini topped with scallops that would make you slap yourself for delaying such an amazing treat, not to mention the grilled Caesar salad with added salmon filet that is an entire meal in itself, maybe wander into the Mexican martini zone for guaranteed 2nd's or 3rds...u cant go wrong, and you'll tell every friend...wait staf is more than knowledgeable, friendly, and always available to recommend your next savory orgasmic selection of deliciousness!! hats off to the chef....no he's a badass...just sayin....dont miss this , its worth the reservation..... We enjoyed the service, wine and oysters. Our server, Sasha, was great. She knew a lot about the oysters and our wine selection. The beet and goat cheese salad was superb. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Will return when in the area.

This is a seafood restaurant with a modern decor and a menu with a mini McCormick and Schlick vibe. Our visit was the first and an anniversary. I started with a Cucumber Collins which had very little more taste than ice water . I switched to Crown Royal. Spouse’s mojito was fine. I ordered 6 Malpeque oysters on the shell. The oysters were fine but the hot red and wine sauces served in dropper bottles were not a good alternative to red sauce. The Gem salad was quite good with a strong vinaigrette dressing. The Brussels sprouts were good but not great. I ordered the wood grilled rainbow trout with green bean, tomato, caper and olive topping. The trout was a very thin, small butterflied serving with good flavor but the topping was extremely salty and sour. The topping did not complement the fish. My wife ordered the grilled sea scallops. The representation was that they were only salt and peppered. The scallops were properly cooked but blackened and very salty. For dessert we shared the chocolate terrine which consisted of creatively presented chocolate triangles and hard frozen pods of chocolate ice cream. It was perfect for two and excellent. Even though the food was not to our taste, the overall experience was good. The waiter was attentive and prompt . Be warned, as all Domain trendy places, the restaurant was loud, Plank has a nice bar and interesting layout.

I love well prepared seafood and Plank delivered! I had the mussels to start which were in a light, flavorful, slightly spicy sauce with avocado (a new twist). The salmon entree with black lentils was spectacular. While I didn’t have one of their signature cocktails, they looked tasty. The service was great- definitely recommend Plank!

First time here, and I must say that the food was excellent. From the appetizers to the main course, our small group was very pleased. My only complaint is that the appetizers were incredibly small while having very large prices. The drink service was a bit slow even though the restaurant was not filled. Overall, great food but a bit pricey for what you get.

Seafood in the heart of texas than Plank should be on your list. It's fresh, and it is prepared well and full of flavor. The calimari and a light breading. The squid ink past pared with the scallops was delicious and a great combo.

We loved everything about Plank. We enjoyed peel and eat shrimp, complete with hot towels for wiping hands, cocktails, and red snapper. Food was delicious, and we loved the casual but classy ambience.

We dined at Plank in the Domain after a "shopping afternoon" on a Friday. It was a decent meal. We really wanted it to be great. As usual, we showed up for happy hour, and then mostly ordered off of the regular menu. HINT: happy hour is not that great of a deal at Plank, nominal savings on most things. DO NOT treat Plank as a "happy hour go to" for great deals... minimal savings on the things you really want. Treat it as a full fare restaurant any time you're there. It's a chain seafood restaurant, nothing "spectacular" that you'd expect from a truly "local" restaurant. High points: The house margarita is made with only orange and lime juice, better with tajin on the rim! Shrimp toast and the Golden Beets salad were good, but not "you gotta get this" quality. We've had better beet salads. We had a bottle of Selena pinot gris which was delicious, on point, and served at the right temperature (we took the leftovers home!). Low points: The oysters are average, all East Coast... which we do not understand when we have monster-sized delicious Gulf oysters everywhere in town (HINT: again, chain restaurants don't understand we have GREAT oysters here... CHEAP!). The "uppity crowd" may demand PEI oysters (any East Coast), they pale in comparison to "our" awesome local oysters! The special of the day was grilled sole, the fish was great! The bed of broccolini on which the fish was served was severely undercooked, virtually inedible... a big miss there. The lemon tart dessert was OK, served chilled... the filling was tasty, the crust reminded us of the bad pie crusts at our grandmother's house. Make the crust fresh, it's not that hard! Finally, a word about ambiance and service... cool place, decor fun and nautical. Service not that great, slow most of the time, and dirty dishes left on the table for way too long (it was not bush or crowded when we were there!). Bottom line, not a "go to" for us. For the prices and the location, you have to do a lot better to retain customers.

He had a great meal at Plank Seafood. Their atmosphere is very nice, service was great, and food was delicious. Located at The Domain shopping center in Austin, there are plenty of other things to do near the restaurant as well.

Nice environment and very good service. A bit on the pricy side. We ordered the Surf & Turf. Ribeye and scallops. The steak was very good, but the scallops were cold and had a metalic taste, at $10 a scallop I was very disappointed. For dessert we had the Lemon Tart. This was the best taste we had. We would return to Plank just for the Lemon tart.

On the plus side, the restaurant is trying some innovative things that I don’t see many places. So I enjoyed that. Service was good. Presentation was great and clearly an important element on the food. They were great on their sources of seafood and accommodating various diets. Foodwise, my favorite was the dressed oysters. Generally though, despite the wonderful service and elegant presentation, a lot of the dishes struck me as bland. And the portions are small for the price.
Make Your Taste Buds Happy
Wow!!! Do your taste buds a favor and take them to this super seafood restaurant. Went there a couple of days ago because of the fresh, sustainable seafood. There is something for everyone from the appetizers to main courses and then desserts, including items for people who don't want seafood. The magic is in the preparation and presentation. First, all the dishes we had were perfectly cooked including the octopus and scallops. Second, the chef doesn't just plate the meat next to the vegetables and call it done. Instead, the food is artistically layered. It's a feast for the eyes. Third, the spices create a wonderful flavor blast that compliments all the ingredients in each dish without overwhelming the palate. Fourth, portions are ideal; not to much nor too little. Let's not forget service. It was perfect. From the greeting at the door through the delightful two hours we were there. Everyone made us feel welcomed and special. We never felt rushed nor neglected. The wine list has some nice surprises both for the wallet and for offering lesser known, high quality wines. We had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Adam, and had an enlightening discussion on the wines he selected for the restaurant. We've eaten at numerous seafood restaurants around the world - Plank Seafood is at the top of our list
