I went there for my nephews bday party. this place was crazy busy, super crowded. there is too much going on for the poor staff to keep up. I feel like they do not plan well in regards to having staff on hand. we did go on a Saturday but still you would think they would be more prepared for a rainy day in Oregon for many people to show up. we had a private room which I highly recommend, again because this place gets crazy busy. I will say that the staff that take care of you when you book a room is attentive but again the food takes too long to arrive. I personally would not book this place for a party, too much chaos.

Visiting from out of town, came here with my son on a weekday around 11am. The concept is nice; there’s a lot that could seriously improve it. The overall flow of the facility is way off; you have to walk through the restaurant seating which is inevitably a sea of screaming kids, coats and backpacks to get to the main desk to pay for the playground. There is totally inadequate staging space for people arriving, waiting to pay, etc. The whole time you’re in line, there are kids trampling over you from the playground, trying to get to tables or from tables to the playground. Space to put items (bags, shoes, my stroller, coats, etc) is wholly inadequate. The staff was pretty basic, not helpful. The play space itself was big and loaded with kids. I️ hated it, but my kid did love it, even though it was way crowded. There’s a mix of responsible parents who are watching their kids and ones who are sitting in the common area while their kids run (and I mean really run) wild in the play space. I️ don’t mind telling a stranger’s kid to knock it off, but if you were shy it could be an issue for you. All in all a good concept with poor execution as listed above.

This place is FUN,fun fun !!! We went on a rainy weekday morning and spent 4 hours moving, jumping, climbing, sliding, dancing, throwing, catching, shooting [nerfballs] ,laughing, giggling, and generally having a blast !There is not an arcade game in sight . The space is very well arranged, so that i could see my little guys almost all the time. Despite a moderate crowd, there was plenty of room to play and experiment. The tunnels ,slides, and passageways are huge, so even large adults can get in there and play with the kids. The castle themed "ballroom" had my normally reserved 8 year old cheering wildly for the red team as he shot hundreds of soft harmless nerfballs at the blue teams castle through air powered artillery. As to safety concerns... i almost did not go because of the reviews i read. I am so glad we went. The area is perfectly safe, we walked there. The equipment was all in good repair,It was clean, and well maintained. People do get hurt sometimes on play equipment, that does not mean the equipment is faulty. Slides are fun when they are fast !! There is plenty of space, and padding at the bottom. This place is fabulous! Don't miss the fun, especially on a rainy portland morning! We got good chicken nuggets and grapes, perfectly passable food, then went back for more FUN !

We brought our granddaughter here for a play date while we were visiting Portland. She had so much fun & when lunch time came around we ordered but didn't have high hopes since it is a "kid" place. Food was delish! Hummus plate was super yummy & I loved my chicken pesto sandwich. I would eat here again & definitely bring the little one back to play.

we took our 4yr old son and he had a great time climbing in the structure. Prices were reasonable except for the food which I felt was overpriced for the quality and amount. We had the cheese and fruit platter and a hot dog and a soda for just under $20. Overall it’s nice enough to take the kids and get out of the rain or cold and grab a bite to eat.

My Wife suggested we bring our 3 year old here on a Saturday evening. He could get some play time and we could eat dinner and have a beer. Evidently they had just raised their prices for 3 year olds or possibly she misunderstood... We had thought it was $4 for kids 3 and under... I guess on the weekends its higher? But we were already there so just paid. Not a deal breaker. It wasn't too busy in there. Our son had a good time. Lots of things for him to look at and play with. There are quite a few food and beverage options a well so adults can enjoy themselves also while there. I'm sure we'll return again sometime.

My husband and I tacked this place onto our spring break so we could get some good coffee while our kid got some energy out. I was very impressed and loved the idea of coffee and good food while kids get to play at a playplace of epic proportions. We had a really good time and I found myself wishing they had a place like this closer to me that I could go to regularly. Perfect addition to our Portland vacation.

Great pizza and food. Adults can have beer, wine, and coffee. Kids loved it and played for hours until worn out. Only thing I would change is have someone by the door to make sure kids don't leave on their own because even with a good eye on the kids, they could leave if very fast.

I love this place! My son had so much fun, there is good food and coffee, and plenty of helpful staff to help watch over the kids while they play

While our family visited Portland, we discovered Play Date PDX on a rainy day in July. I highly recommend it for kids from walking age to about 12. The play place has a castle theme with three stories, a toddler area and a ball pit with cannons to shoot the balls. The castle also has two slides ( at least ones I could count). Adults can accompany children in any portion of the play place. All the equipment looks clean and well maintained. The building looks like an old warehouse repurposed to include the play place and other businesses next door. We paid only $4 for a youth and $2 for a toddler. Which in my opinion is a great value. For adults there is a big seating area to relax and let the kids play. The cafe has a variety of food options for both kids and adults. Coffee, beer and wine are also available. Socks are required for the kids to play.

We visited during winter break for most schools- it was the last Wednesday of the month as well which is a special day for the business. It was overly crowded- too crowded. I had a 6 and 4 year old and both complained there were too many kids in the play area. We ordered food- two grilled cheese sandwiches, Cesar wrap, panini sandwich, and fruit. It was over $50 dollars. And it took OVER 1 HOUR to get our food. Way too long and especially what we got. The place was also DIRTY! My wife used women's restroom and it was disgusting. Again, this may be a symptom of too many people there. For us, too expensive for food, took way too long, and was DIRTY! And much too crowded.

Passed a rainy Sunday while visiting family. Almost 3 year old child LOVED it!! Crowded but very manageable. Comfortable for adults with plenty of seating and yummy fresh food. Terrific experience.

What a great indoor space for kiddos to run off their energy in the middle of a long road trip. Food and drinks were average. The place was so understaffed but it didn't stop us from having a good time.

Our 6-year-old found plenty to do even at this rather small and crowded (on a rainy weekend) facility. It is noisy, as you would expect from the clientele, but there are plenty of places for grown-ups to sit, play, or plug in and work while the little ones work out their energy. The food is typically Portland - there are actually some healthy choices.

Great place for kids to play on a rainy day. Keeps them busy for hours. Able to order food, drinks, beer, wine while the kids play. Can get really busy with limited seating. Beware slides are super fast and you are even warned when you pay. Kids survived the slide but my 34 year old sister flew off the end of it and twisted leg. She's fine and it's a great memory to laugh at! So yes adults can play but be careful:)

Basically like McDonald's playplace w microwave nuggets. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The nachos were ok. Gas station level. The nuggets were like Microwave ones. Save your $$$ and just take your kids to McDonald's

The kids had fun running around for a couple hours. I didn't get any food. I used the wifi to get some work done. Can be hard to find a table.

This place is fantastic for the 7 and under crowd. It is loud and not well lit but hey they serve craft beer. My kids enjoyed it.

We found this place because of Trip Advisor so we knew it would be good! The kids had so much fun as did the adults.

Huge jungle gym, 3-4 stories high. Ball guns. Dance floor. Projector thing that’s interactive on the floor. No outside food or drinks. Free cups of water. Whole menu including healthy and non healthy choices, beer and wine. Free Monday’s after 5pm. Last Wednesday of month kids free with non perishable food items, 2 per kid. Please bring more if you can, families always in need.

Went to go and just accompany the children and ended up having fun. If your on vacation with kids this is definitely a place to go. The kids have tons of fun and the adults have beer and wine to help relax. The serve food as well and a very friendly staff.

It is our second time here with our granddaughter and she still loves this place. I went with her to the playground and had a blast. It could get busy and some kids could get very intense so you got to be careful and watch your kids. I saw few kids crying when leaving so they really love this place and don't want to leave. For adults they have good coffee and good snacks to enjoy while the kids play.

This place is a great respite from the rain in Portland. The kids loved every minute and after 3 hours of playing, they begged me to stay. The food is considerably overpriced, and it would be nice if we could bring our own food. Id much prefer to make my own pb&j and carrots rather than pay upwards of $6 for it. The atmosphere was hectic and crazy. I appreciated that my own children can handle themselves and be kind to others even when Im not near, but some kids there didn't have as much control. Parents aren't able to really monitor their kids in the play area unless they go in the play area itself, and most parents just chatted at their table far away instead of watching their kids. This, and the food situation will probably keep us away in the future. Although, the rainy days in Portland will most likely win out and we'll be back!

Very nice play area, granddaughter had a great, neat concept. Area for the kids and an area for the adults, would come again

Kids had a blast. The play area had plenty of room for adults to stand straight up if wanting to stay close to the kids. Would definitely go again.

Kids cooped up and driving you nuts? It's too rainy to go outside? Playdate PDX could be the solution to your problems. Expansive indoor activities and socializing going on here (both the parents and the kids). Rainy day saviors for families all over PDX.

The day I went I was a little sad because they were trying to see how much people would come if they did the laser tag on sat. There were maybe 4 kids and they didn't want to let kids still go up, when the other kids were clearly playing somewhere else. Aside from that great place to spend a couple of hours!

My daughter had a blast at a birthday party on Saturday. By Sunday night she was puking her guts up, and kept dry heaving until 4am. The doctor on Monday morning examined her and asked if she had eaten anything unusual or if we had been out of the country. I said no, but she went to Playdate PDX for the first time. The doctor started laughing. She called it a Petri dish. If your kid has a strong immune system and can handle themselves around unsupervised, bigger kids, go for it. Otherwise, stay away!

I won't lie - the kids seem to love this place. We call it the Thunderdome - send your kid in and hope that he/she isn't one of the MANY that walk out holding a body part and crying. I'm actually not joking about that - I stood outside the gates and every couple of minutes a new kid came out crying because he/she had been hurt. I like the concept - indoor play area while parents can drink coffee or beer and read; and really, kids like the activities in the Thunderdome. But I can't go above 2 stars because it feels like you are risking life and limb to go inside. And there is really NO oversight by staff. I broke up an actual fist fight between two boys (maybe 11yr old?) that was happening in the midst of the ball area. A fist fight. Who wants their toddler witnessing this!?? There were no staff members to be seen - aside from two that were chatting on the floor above. I don't blame staff necessarily (they are young and probably misdirected) - I blame management. The staff clearly need better directions about how to keep things safe and how to expel kids that are clearly not following any civil rules. I can't even blame the parents - who are practically encouraged to shove their kids in the Thunderdome and wander off without giving them a second thought. Granted, we went on a Saturday afternoon and it was filled to the brim. Is there a limit?? Didn't seem to be any - which is another con in my mind (even if it would've meant we'd be turned away as we got there right when it was slammed). I haven't tried the food - it looked fine; about what you'd expect. I enjoyed a beer. It's a convenient location. And again, I love the idea. But until this feels more safe, I really don't care to go back.

Very large multilevel play area with climbing, slides, light-up dance floor, ball cannon court. Our 4 year old grandson had great fun for hours. Adults are allowed to play too. Large seating area, variety of food and beverages available (including beer).

Kids: Welcome to Heaven. On a rainy/semi-wet/playground-is-too-muddy day, this place can quickly become a parents' purgatory. It's essential that you arrive early or hover over a frantically-gathering-everything-in-sight-inevitably-forgetting-something clan who is preparing to vacate. My 3-star rating was based on the food alone. It's what you would expect for a warehouse turned child utopia. As for the kid-factor, it's no wonder this place has become a ubiquitous tip among the parent set. Just be sure to pack your child locator. Seconds upon arrival, your child will be nowhere in sight. And he'll stay that way until you make your way (falling over yourself on slippery plastic with traction-less feet -- no shoes allowed!!) through the labyrinth of slides, curved passages, and obstacles, only to hear your child shrieking gleefully...on the other side of the labyrinth. And if you're wearing pants made of spandex or a poly/spandex blend, watch out. The slide will OWN you.
Cool Concept but could use a playground supervisor
We visited on a weekday with our toddler and had a pretty good time. The kids facility is pretty fun, and the food was okay. We had some issues with a group of 8-12 year olds that came in as three different families. They were out of control and I had to remind them of the younger kids (it was about 80% three-year-olds or younger). Most of the parents with younger kids were actively engaged with their kids and obviously the parents of the older kids we not (which is the way I think it should be). The facility was just missing some sort of play monitor/supervisor to make sure everyone is having fun in a safe way. All in all, it is a fun place that is totally worth a visit.
