Rubbish service

By moomin0408 |

Came here on a whim after a cold wet trip to Alcatraz. We're greeted well and sat down straight away. When our waiter came over who was friendly, we ordered two hot drinks and two comes along with our food! I'm not sure what happened but his attitude completely changed as if we'd caused him some massive inconvenience by ordering both hot and cold drinks! The service was then very slow, food was mediocre (but typical of this kind of restaurant) and we didn't receive any other contact from our waiter until we asked for the bill. Surprise surprise!

Fun lunch spot

By Claire S |

My husband and I both had the Philly cheesesteak which was very tasty. Busy sportswear atmosphere with an arcade at the back. Service was good, and reasonable value.

Great place to stop for a break in your travels

By Chris D |

Good Food and great service, Warm location on a cold day and quiet spot to sit and enjoy a rest. Our server was very attentive and made our visit quite special. Good menu choices and no long waits.

Good for kids

By engped |

Just another sports bar. However, it can be a good option if you have kids with you as they can play in the arcade area of the place. Just be ready to pay not-so-cheap prices.

Good fun in the arcade

By Karsten P |

We were having as a family competing in the various killing games with the kids as well as the classic basketball tournament. Good fun. Nice staff.

Beer and a whole lot of info

By Germansi |

We dropped in for our first beer of the day. Great being in holiday! Anyway the bar tender was amazing and gave us so much info on the area and it's climate. One beer turned to two as the info kept coming. Happy days and thanks.

Review of the Waterfront Tiki Bar Only

By 600720544 |

After walking around SFO we stumbled across the Tiki Bar after being recommended by the sports bar staff, We sat at the bar enjoying the wonderful view and the friendly banter with Erik who was our barman. One of the friendliest people I have ever met and a joy to be in his company. I was down to him we decided to stop and try the food which was delightful, from the teriyaxi chicken to the chicken tenders all reasonably priced as were the drinks. We came back the following evening to experience the bay traffic and the sunset over the bay. very enjoyable.

Drink on the Peir

By DavidM299 |

Popped in for a beer whilst strolling the pier. Didn’t eat but food being served looked massive portions. Good selection of beers and spirits at the bar. Served quickly. Lots of sports on several TVs in half this establishment. The other half is given over to an arcade which in comparison to the bar seemed empty and a waste of bar space. Perhaps it gets busy with kids in the season! Typical sports bar with good atmosphere

Great for a casual dining experience

By Rebecca M |

Sports bar at pier 39. Sports playing on lots of tv screens. Excellent service and great bar type meals. Casual atmosphere. A few families and groups. Kids even can get a $10 games card with their meal to play the few arcade games while the adults finish their meals and drinks. Price average for a restaurant on pier 39

Over-rated, and dubious sales practises.

By sfgoulding |

We went as we received a recommendation, and a discount voucher from the Big Bus Tour we had been on that day. Trying to understand the vague offerings on the vouchers was difficult. We ordered out drinks, understanding we would get a $5.50 credit each. The bill was given to us without the discount being applied, so we had to request that get changed from the barman. Then my partner ordered the Clam Chowder, we were asked if we wanted shrimps or crab with it, and we asked could we have both, and were told Yes no problems. The voucher also offered a "free" game card if you purchased a game card OR if you purchased an appetiser. We asked for this deal as well. The cards arrived ALONG with the new bill. Surprise ! We were given the drinks discount, but charged for game cards. When queried about the offer of a "free" games card if an appetiser was ordered, we were told that it only applied to "certain" appetisers, none of which were disclosed to us, and when challenged, the barman said No the Clam Chowder did not count, because it was NOT, one of the "secret" appetisers... He seemed a bit sheepish about it, trying to apologise for any "confusion" but by then we had had enough. We had been looking forward tospending some money having some drinks, and relaxing there. We left after 1 drink - THEIR LOSS. Dodgy practises. AVOID

Holiday weekend chaos getting window table, ate at bar.

By LovingLife4us |

If you wanted a window table in the bar you had to stand out front at the hostess table and wait instead of enjoying drinks at the bar spending money waiting for your table? But many others were offered reserved tables before us even when we asked for them. Poor hostess services. You should have a hostess in front and also in back for those tables that sat empty while we ate. Other guest were forced to eat at the bar like us while there was empty tables in the back bar area. Definitely room for improvements on leaving empty tables open while paying customers want them. Bar service was great for drinks, food was good also and the presentation of it was also very nicely done. Lots of beer choices in tiki bar.

Excellent clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl !

By ITTravelr |

Great food! Table by the open windows overlooking the bay was terrific! Others in our group had fish and chips and said they were delicious! We all highly recommend this place.

Hawaiian flatbread excellent

By Tara W |

Went on a rainy afternoon, had a few cocktails and tried the Hawaiian flatbread, EXCELLENT. Conor the bartender was pretty good too.

Cashing in on location, sad given how great it could be.

By HardwireTag |

Walking around the city, we happened to be in the pier 39 area around the time that our stomachs we reminding us that we had skipped breakfast and that it really was time to eat. Looking like somewhere offering "Americana" it seemed like a good choice and walked in. The greeter took us to a table, however, it was near the open door and even wearing our jackets we were cold still. So I approached the greeter who actually seemed rather put out that I was requesting a new table (nothing had been served or ordered at this point, and the restaurant was filled to 30% capacity at most so this should not have been an issue). Eventually, we were relocated to a table further inside and away from the cold February winds and our orders were taken. After a while, our drinks were delivered, and after another, while our started AND mains were delivered at the same time....thus our mains were a little on the cool side by the time we started eating them. This waiting time gave us plenty of time to look around at the general cleanliness of the restaurant which left us thinking that the staff were just too busy to perform "deep cleaning" often...if ever. Tucking into our food, I will admit it seemed quite tasty and we did enjoy eating our respective dishes, I picked the classic ribs dish and it seemed well cooked if just a little on the dry side. Finishing we made use of the restrooms before leaving. Once outside we both felt the need to comment on the condition of the restrooms...again more signs of a lack of cleaning at times it appears and continued on our travels. Sadly it was not long into the day before I started having stomach cramps and we decided to cut the day short and headed back to our hotel....thankfully so as by the time we got back I was in so much pain I was shaking and spent most of the remaining hours of the day in the toilet in our room, unable to leave for fear of an incident. While impossible to lay blame directly with the restaurant, we had an early dinner the evening before, skipped breakfast (coming from the UK the portion sizes in the US have us eating fewer meals generally) and this meal was fairly late for lunch (around 3 pm I seem to recall) and so I had not eaten anything else for at least 18+ hours. Draw your own conclusions from this if you will, but given the overall cleanliness, I would not be surprised to discover it was the cause. It appears that this restaurant banks on the passing tourist trade and may have allowed standards to slip, as I said the dust and dirt on items and decoration around the restaurant only further this opinion, and this is a shame as it is otherwise a nice looking sport bar and grill with a good sounding menu and could do so much better.

Great Place for the Family

By Dawn K |

We stopped here with 5 kids after a long day of sightseeing and it was perfect! The kids were tired but were kept busy with the arcade. The food was good...LOVED the garlic fries and our waiter was excellent!

Nice

By plfdakar |

A nice place, the menu is complete, the service is efficient. On your plate it's very good, and not a shot on the bill. A good address

Terrible service

By Nanette S |

The service was terrible. Waited along time taking our orders. we got our drinks and never saw the waiter again. We waited over 45 minutes for our meal & that's a long time especially with 2 grandkids. It was not busy at all only 4 others there. Finally our meal come delivered by someone else. I had to go the the bar to get water/drinks refilled. Servings were very small but good & prices were ridiculous for the portions. We were a party of 6 & we will never return or recommend to anyone!

Good quality & services

By Sibega |

If you go at Pier39 in San Francisco don’t skip this restaurant: good food (much better than standard) and very nice services (fast, careful to guest’s needs). It is not expansive at all despite the location

What a surprise

By Diane W |

We had a $5 coupon off a drink from our big bus ticket so thought we may as well use, the host was real helpful and took us through to the bar at the back which looks out onto the ocean, a real sur prise fromantic what you think is just an arcade. Absolutely beautiful, we went back for dinner another evening.

Great meal at the Luau Lounge.

By oscarEngland |

We went in to the sports bar for a quick drink and stayed for a relaxing meal. The barman was considerate, helpful and very personable, the cocktails special and the food good and nicely presented.

Good food

By Xavier L |

Loved the chicken teriyaki on rice. Cooked very unique with broccoli and carrots on the side. Love the presentation of the meal. Food was kind of pricey.

Last day

By Brian K |

We were leaving San Francisco on the day we visited this bar . We had noticed it on a previous visit to the pier and thought we would give it a try . We were taken to the very front of the bar by the girl serving which gave us a great view of the boats travelling up and down the bay . The food was good and the server was nice and friendly , the prices were what you would expect when your right in the middle of a famous tourist area . The portions were typically American , way bigger than what we would expect in Europe but we had learned our lesson previously so we ordered wisely and shared various plates amoungst us .overall a decent way to end our vacation

Slow service, average food, overpriced

By jkweebs |

We stopped in for and early dinner on father’s day. The place was practically empty. The first thing that struck me was the hostess. The first question I as asked is and I quote, “You looking for a table?” Should have known then to just eave. We sat down and after about 10 minutes a waitress comes up as if she did not know we were in her section or even seated. She took out drink orders and left after we explained we would need some time to decide. 15 minutes later she finally came back with the drinks and walked away without taking our food order. We stopped her a couple minutes later when she came by again and asked to order. We had chicken strips and an order of Teriyaki wings with fries. I also had a draw of Coors light. We got the food and it was not bad. We asked for more catchup but never got it. No one offered to refill our drinks once. We get the bill and it was $60 dollars and at the bottom they had the nerve to list tip amounts by percentage of bill and it was circled. I found that a little over the top. After waiting for over 15 minutes and never seeing our waitress again I finally went to the hostess and asked to pay the bill. I was told that is the waitress’s job to handle. I finally found our waitress paid our bill (with no tip) and left. Never to return. FYI we ate down the street at Wipe Out and had 4 meals with the bill only being $74 and the service was amazing..

Atmosphere!

By bekky_lee |

3 San Francisco teams were playing when we came here for dinner - Atmosphere was electric! Locals cheering their team home and tourists getting involved too! Was a good evening after spending the day at the Pier. A great sports bar, plenty of TVs to ensure you can watch whichever game you are most interested in... & the food was good too, nice big American size portions and friendly staff as well.

Armchair Sport Haven

By Les R |

Players Grill and Arcade is exactly what it’s titled. If you’re expecting a 5 Star menu well you’ve got no idea from the outset. One can get caught up in the chowder mania here in San Fran. Im from Australia and a club sandwich / burger and chips was great, and just what the doctor ordered. My entire family were happy with their meals, and there were plenty of draft beer selections for my waiting palette. If you have kids who like arcade games, it’s a bonus and for sports nuts like me, there is a bit of memorabilia plus multiple TV’s showing NHL, NBA, NFL etc. A win, win for me.

Very Enjoyable

By Davemc60 |

Great atmosphere. The fire pits at front while watching everyone go by are classical. Plenty of sport and a handy menu made for a wonderful visit.

Matt at players

By Robert F |

If you want the best margarita in San Francisco go to players bar at pier 39 and see Matt the bar tender and you will not be disappointed. His Cadillac margaritas are amazing. Anytime we are in town for on NY we come just to see Matt.

Best of 3, one game to go

By ERDFirefighter |

Stopped in here twice to watch the NHL playoffs. First time we sat at the bar and the service was good, beer cold, food good, bartender pleasant. Second time was a different experience. Manager was a little abrupt in his personality and where he wantedw us to seat. Waitress not nearly has pleasant has the bartender the night before. Second experience was a bit of a let down. I will however return and make this a best of 3 experience.

Mediocre

By Patrizio Corsetti |

Very American place, typical of the place. Quick service and friendly staff. Menu that leaves a little puzzled, average dishes, I was not too excited. Good meat quality, slightly scarf unfortunately

Large portions

By Ian L |

The food was good but far more than our stomachs could accommodate, the portions compared to British sizes are huge. The restaurant was quite cold even though we had asked to be seated in a warm spot. Not cheap.

Just Okay

By Stokil1 |

We stopped in here when on Pier 39 for dinner one night. We thought we were eating in a sports bar but they took us to a table in the very back and the next thing we knew we were seated in a Tiiki Hut restaurant. I had fish and chips and my wife had the jumbalaya. Food was pretty good but the waiter had the whole area as his section and was a bit slow. We'd try somewhere else next time.

Ok food, but lacked some service.

By AA_Nor |

The food here was ok, and arrived quite quickly, but it took some time before they took our orders. There were very little ketchup in a cup on the plates and several people wanted more, but we didn't get the waiters attention to get any. The same with drinks. We only got one round of drinks, and was not asked if we wanted more during the time we sat there. For the price, I would choose somewhere else. It is also quite noisy with the arcade and the blasting music.

Get your game on:

By etcollins59@yahoo.com |

While in San Francisco we went to Pier 39 a lot.. This was a nice place to eat. There are televisions to watch the games, and other arcade games for your pleasure. It is family friendly. The staff was very friendly. The food arrived quickly and hot. There are many things to do on Pier 39.. take time off your feet get something to eat..play a game or watch one on t.v!!

Not worth the money.

By 23sportmom |

Too overpriced for the food they serve. Small portion size for $13 of pasta. $15 for nachos, $13 for an alcoholic drink. If you need to entertain the kids, they have games available. TVs for sports broadcasts available, that was the only plus.

Nice Surprise

By J D |

My kid wanted to eat here and play in the arcade. I was skeptical because sports pubs don't typically have very good food. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the shrimp/avocado club salad, and it was delicious. The service was great, and we enjoyed playing in the arcade.

Nice way to finish our day

By The_Poppys030514 |

Me and Becky stopped in here for a drink before returning to our hotel and was a calm end. They have these fire pits that mesmerise you. The drinks were as you would expect from a Diet Coke and a rose wine and staff did their jobs

Chuckee cheese for adults

By Victor F |

If you want have fun have something good to eat and grab a beer and play in the arcade this is the place to visit!

Good lunch

By ItchyFeet |

We had lunch here while we were out on the pier. We had coconut shrimp and fries and they were good. Service, like most places is short staffed but she handled it well and we were were nice about it. Nice lively place to eat. We ate out on the patio with about 5 tables that was nice.

An Average Experience

By redroman23 |

Needed a quick bite to eat before our Alcatraz tour and this place wasn't too busy. Service was slow considering how few people were in the place, the food was just ok and nothing fancy.

Lunch after Alcatraz

By David R |

We were hungry and everywhere around Pier 39 had queues apart from this place, probably as it is at the bottom of the pier. Staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a pasta dish both of which were tasty and plentiful. Decor was cool, like a sports pub. There is an arcade at the back and also a tiki bar. The toilets were disgusting though, think they were public toilets. You got it!

January 14-15, 2017

By JABenicia |

Service started off great, but then our server disappeared to the point we had to chase someone down to give us our check so we could leave to check into our hotel.

Burgers and Beer

By chisnel |

Popped in whilst in Fisherman’s Wharf. Player Burger and Philly Cheese Steak excellent. As it is in Fisherman’s Wharf a little more expensive but when in Rome as they say. Can recommend as food really good and beer cold.

Good food - average service

By peter_fussell |

None of us overly hungry and son wanted to experience a typical US sports bar - so off to Player Sports Grill it was. Upon entry shown to a table by a rather unfriendly waitress and provided menus. The menu had a good selection at reasonable prices. Not wanting big meals we went for light meal / entree options. Took a while for orders to be taken and food provided, but upon arrival the first reaction was the size of the portions. The nachos were a massive serving and could easy been shared by two. Overall - the food was tasty and of a good standard. Only let down of visit was the not great customer service.

Great Place for Watching Sports

By steve l |

We went here to watch the Sunday NFL games. It was hard to find a sports bar in this area and this place was the best. The food was Ok but nothing special. They will give you a table with your own TV and put YOUR game on it for you...assuming it is not on the big screen TV's. Great place for wathcing sports!

Even if you just want a beer...

By Tony S |

Didn't eat in here, although the food looked good... but just wanted to stop for a beer. Great beers (IPA is fantastic) and great service - fast and friendly. A number of sports screens on the walls and fantastic atmosphere. Visied a few times over the course of my visit.

NO PINBALL MACHINES!

By lori s |

THERE ARE ZERO PINBALL MACHINES!!!!! The website say there are and even names them but we arrived to a huge wave of disappointment and left immediately.

Food With Arcade Games

By TedL1049 |

I wasn't interested in the arcade section which had lots of choices. Pier #39 a good location. TV screens abound. Pick your game. Burgers in the $16 -19 range. Had the Kobe beef burger and unimpressed. Fries a standard cut. Service was good.

Football Sunday

By karen d |

We were looking to watch our team ( NYGiants) and walked in to Players(sports bar) They reserved us a great table and put our game on in front of our table . Ordered wings and fries - great . When on Pier 39 this is a fun spot.

Drinks at the Pier

By Raul |

We had a fantastic time at Players on Pier 39! The atmosphere was lively with great views of the main Pier, and it was the perfect spot to relax with some drinks. We ordered the calamari and mussels, and both were fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the overall vibe was fun . Between the good food, refreshing drinks, and amazing location, it’s a great place to hang out on the pier. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Pier 39 with need of a break.

Value for money

By tapestrytapestry |

Excellent brunch, club sandwich, arrived with salad and chips, very filling and cheap. Clean and friendly.

Fun place to play and eat

By hoteljunkies |

We didn't eat here, but the arcade was fun. Good vibe and great place to wind-down at the end of Pier 39.

Not impressed

By Tammy F |

Our family wanted a decent restaurant on the Wharf that wouldn't be to expensive for lunch. We decided on The Players Sports Grill and Arcade because the atmosphere and menu seemed to be good. Service was extremely slow. We ordered 2 club sandwiches, a pulled pork sandwich and a burger. We waited more than 45min for the food to arrive. My husband substituted a salad for fries thinking the salad would come out first. Nope. It came out with the food, was warm from sitting under a warmer and was very small. Definitely would not have paid extra for it had we known. The bill for 4 of us plus tip was almost $100.. a little expensive if you ask me, but I guess dining on Pier 39 costs $$$ We only saw our server a couple times and was going to talk to a manager but never saw one. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Dinner

By RMAmom |

GF...had the pulled pork minus the bun and mashed potatoes....it was yummy and no issues later. the rest of the family enjoyed their meal. waitress was a tad slower but overall had a great experience.

A sports bar unlike any other

By Taylor B |

I don't consider myself a connoisseur of sports bars -- I don't drink anything stronger than ginger ale -- but I've spent time in more than a few and I can't recall any that compares to Players Sports Grill & Arcade in San Francisco. Located at the Bay end of Pier 39, in Building L and M on Level 1, in the Embarcadero/Fisherman's Wharf/North Beach/Telegraph Hill neighborhood, it features 12,000 square feet of dining, drinks and games with a full bar, 35 HDTVs, 16 taps of beer, a bowling alley and bay views. Open daily from 11 to 9, it specializes in 200 craft beers and cocktails, grilled burgers, New York steaks, pizza, crab cakes, clam chowder and sourdough bread bowls. I ordered two house specialties, a bowl of San Francisco clam chowder made with bacon, carrots and potatoes and served with sourdough bread and a large slice of Luau pie with Oreo cookies filled with vanilla ice cream and coated with macadamia nuts and hot fudge. I started with a plate of grilled jumbo shrimp. For an entree, I chose traditional fish and chips, beer battered cod soaked in crispy butter sauce with home-made tartar sauce and served with seasoned fries. It may sound weird but, when I think about it, fish and chips in Florida and California and New England always tastes better than anywhere else.

Perfect Location

By MOONTX99 |

Looking for a fun place on the pier to eat and take a break? Here's the place! My husband and I ate here and took a break while watching some football. Great food and atmosphere!

Bad service and small portion of food

By JS97 |

The food was great but the service was disappointing. The portion of the food was also VERY SMALL and expensive. The pasta was so small you can finish it with 4 to 5 scoop

Good for USA

By Никита Ж |

Quality of food and beer is normal for America but lower then in Europe. Staff is very good and the place is very comfortable for watching sports! Only 3 stars for low quality of beer and food, but it’s very hard to find a good level of dishes for a low price in USA.

Menu Fake Out

By Anthony L |

I'm careful to check menus before eating in unfamiliar restaurants. This restaurant had one posted under glass on a column just as you enter the restaurant. Prices seemed reasonable considering the tourist area, so I went in and ordered fish and chips without looking at another menu. It was okay but not worth the $13.99 posted on the column menu, but the atmosphere and view of the bay compensated. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill and the fish & chips were $17.99. Apparently, the column menu was outdated. I pointed out that I ordered based on the column menu price, but it didn't help. It's important to note that several other restaurants on pier 39 had fish & chips priced at $6.99 to as high as 11.99. By the way, a beer was $6. I won't be back.

Good for location, sports

By baz601 |

Good for location, sports bar atmosphere with lots of tvs that otherwise was a struggle to find this kind of place in central San Francisco. Food was good, service was , better at the bar than at the tables on the two times we visited. Would recommend

Fabulous place to chill....

By IanCleddy |

Not sure about the arcades never visited. But the food...wow. We shared the ribs 26.99 and the bloke said it was about 8-9 inches. So we ordered one to share. It turned up as two 8-9 inches ribs with fries and slaw (I’m turning Yankee😂😂😂😂). The bill reasonable for 4. Other 2 in our party shared potato skins. Still a big portion. All in all a good place to pop in and shorter waiting times than others.....

I never forget my amazing time in PLAYERS GRILL & ARCADE

By Maramaz |

Who can believe that after 17 hours flight +7 hours layover means 24 hours journey when we reached San Fransisco, we couldn't ignore our lovely BAr and Restaurant Arcade in Pier 39 because of our exhaustion, OMG we spent 4 hours in my lovely ARCADE. I've been 4 weeks in San Fransisco and I went over that bar 3 times a week... it was one the best and most delightful times for me and my friends. Amazing hospitality Wonderful foods Warm environment Bartenders? All too kind, nice attitude, Smily faces (which was absolutely CONTAGIOUS to costumers). TRY IT AT LEAST ONCE, IT ALWAYS WILL BE REMEMBERED IN YOUR BEAUTIFUL MEMORIZES.

Amazing view! Amazing food!

By Shaqone |

Ended up here after our Alcatraz tour for lunch, we got a table out the back in the tiki bar with a water view. I had the best burger I’ve eaten whilst travelling the west coast, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. It was nice to sit back and relax with a cocktail on the water. Will definitely be back !!

Very nice food and good atmosphere

By Mick K |

Dropped in on a Friday night- had a steak, cooked to my preference, the wife had salmon. Both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and good service- good value for a nice meal.

Enormous portion sizes

By Shirley F |

Make sure you ask for a table at the back overlooking the bay.....especially nice on a hot day. Views are really good as is the service. The food portions were enormous but more importantly very tasty. Well worth the money.

Dinner

By Dawne M |

This place is huge! The food was good! The arcade wasn't too busy. We sat next to a window had a great view of the bay bridge and a marina! The staff was very friendly!

Good Food but...

By gmb94 |

The food is good, with some local favorites. The bar offered some interesting twists on the classics. The service was slower so we ended up staying far longer than we intended. It's a good place to keep kids busy and entertained with the arcade, though. Still, expect a long wait.

Ok - period

By Rafael Santos |

I went on 4th July, was crowded but I liked. It is touristic place and typical American food. I drank the Big Wave beer!

Unbelievably bad...

By RichH6109 |

The worst culinary experience of my Californian holiday and probably of the last 5 years - bad food, bad service, bad prices and issues with the bill. Rude, incompetent staff delivering poor, under-cooked burgers and overcharging for the privilege. San Francisco is so big, with so many great restaurants, you don't have to eat here...

Very good at what it does

By SuccinctEarth07 |

Only criticism is that the food and drinks are quite expensive, other than that we were served promptly recieving our calamari starter after 7 minutes and main meal of club Sandwich and fish and chips after 15. Waiter was attentive and TV screens were well positioned and there were enough of them showing both basketball and ice hockey. Also was a nice location on pier 39.

Sunset Views

By Dora H |

The view from the Luau Lounge is beautiful, this is a great spot to grab a bite and watch the sunset, I recommend trying the grilled halibut.

Secret tiki

By Teakwo23 |

Lots of fun games and a secret, hidden, tiki bar in the back. Nice view of the water and delicious drink and live music.

Relaxing lunch!

By CG Commander |

We stopped in for lunch after arriving in SFO.....the calamari was very good and crispy. They have a couple of very good craft beers on draft. When the weather is not over cast, the views of the harbor are nice.

Lunch great, Dinner not so much

By Jules141110 |

Hubby and I had lunch here, service was great, quick and friendly, thought we'd go back for dinner, wish we hadn't. Stood at the desk waiting to be seated for 15 mins, another couple ended up asking bar man what was going on. One server for the whole place, he was run off his feet but friendly enough, manageress, I think was walking around not really doing much. Unfortunately we won't be back, which after having a great lunch we were really disappointed.

Proper old school arcade games!

By SJCiren |

We had a great time introducing our teens to Pac Man, Space Invaders and air hockey! Quite the nostalgic experience! Great range of games - old(er) and new.

Cool Atmosphere & Decent Food

By TravelingDad84 |

That atmosphere is cool because you have tv’s everywhere playing sports plus a giant arcade the kids (and adults) can play in. Ordered nachos with pulled pork to start. Very tasty. Then ordered a bread bowl filled with clam chowder. Very good and filling. My brother ordered the Kobe Burger and said it was one of the best he’s ever had. My father ordered a pulled pork quesadilla and loved it as well. Tons of pics on the walls too of athletes. Very cool place right on the pier.

Good Portion and tasty food

By IbizaLoveYou |

Even though Pier 39 is extremely over priced, this restaurant was relatively acceptable comparing to others. The portion is big, staff are friendly but expect to wait for some time to have your food.

Luau Lounge

By Anne F |

Hit up the secret luau lounge in the back. Such a different atmosphere than the sports bar and arcade. Good live music and big rum cocktail menu. Happy we found it.

Good for Watching the 9ers Game!

By tek_rice |

We were in town for the 49ers vs Vikings game and we couldn't afford the money to go to the game itself we opted for a fun sports environment to watch the game. We arrived at Players towards the end of the 1Q. The restaurant was packed, as we expected. We actually only had to wait a few minutes and were seated. We had many tvs from which to choose to watch the game. We stayed for most of the rest of the game and had good service, although our waiter was very soft spoken and harder to hear in the busy and noisy restaurant. We had the Nachos Gigantico with pulled chicken. It was tasty and the chili was a nice touch and YES it was a big serving for sure. We also had the Players Teriyaki Hot Wings. They didn't have a huge teriyaki taste. The fish and chips were ok but the fish was a bit soggy. We were expecting a sports bar with good food. I would say we got the atmosphere we wanted but it would have been nice to have food that tasted a wee bit better. That said, I would head into Players for another football game again.

Amazing food, friendly staff

By Liam R |

We dropped into this restaurant/bar on our first day in San Francisco and we were greeted by friendly staff who were happy to have us there. The menu pretty much covers most things and we ordered the fish and chips and fish tacos and they were absolutely delicious. The batter and coating on them were amazing. Prices were good for the standard of the food We came back twice it was that good and would definitely recommend to drop into this place, as I think it’s one of the best on pier 39

Friendly, efficient and correct

By DominiqueLa23 |

Restaurant located on Pier 39. Food correct and quantities. Given the location, we were a bit afraid of a “tourist trap” but that was not the case. Efficient service. We also appreciated the honesty of the employees who when we arrived told us the percentage of the tip to leave (for a table of 6 people… tip which was in line with the other restaurants).

3rd time here

By Lori S |

This is the 3rd time I've been here and I wouldn't have been back if I didn't like it. They gave us a 45 minute wait time, but text us that the table was ready in about 15 minutes. It's a sports bar/restaurant and arcade. Which you expect to be loud. But this time it seemed so much louder than previous visits. Maybe it had to do with where we sat this time. Server was very nice and responsive. Food was meh. I enjoyed the food much more on previous visits. I had the shrimp scampi this time. Why do chefs insist on putting red pepper flakes in a seafood dish when the seafood isn't that strong-flavored? The pepper totally took away from the buttery, garlicky shrimp flavor. And the pasta was under cooked spaghetti. Not at all what I was expecting as a meal which was disappointing. Burgers, club sandwich got good reviews from my family, the fish and chips were 'ok'. Drinks were very good though. I had a pina colada, the husband had a blue hawaiian and brother had bloody mary. Definitely a place for kids - lots of arcade games and an air hockey table. TVs everywhere, so you'll always get a good view of whatever sport they're showing. If you sit in the very back (where we'd sat on our previous visits) you get a good view of the bay bridge. And it's much quieter back there, so you can hold a conversation without being asked 'what?' 5 times before you're heard. Like I said, it's a sports bar and is expected to be loud but I would definitely try to avoid sitting near the arcade.

Disappointing

By Lynette |

Very over priced for ok food. was expecting pub type food, but it was literally a frozen pizza thrown into the oven. Nothing homemade or fresh about it. Service was ok.

Fun for all

By 196LindaC |

After a full day of shopping and site seeing, I wanted to stop for a drink. My adult children wanted to visit the arcade which is just outside of the bar area. A great place for all of us to do exactly what we wanted to do.

FUN for All kinds of Players!

By R H |

Romantic evening ?, right up front by the fire place. Sports? On the big screens!, Kids? no problem arcade games for all ages, and even some small prizes for the effort. Family dinner Large dinning area in the back looking out over the bay, with a view of the golden gate, Alcatraz, and sometimes the rocket boats out playing on the bay. Foods good, pizza appetizer was fantastic, the burger average, all expensive, expect $20 dollars and up per person, regular burger $14.50. Very nice place to relax, and also to enjoy being with friends and family. Enjoy

Food just so so

By Scott H |

The tables with the fire pits are cool and the servers (we had 3 in the short time we were there to eat) were friendly. The food was overpriced and just so so. I would suggest you pass on the Shrimp Louie. Not much to it for 18 bucks.

Arcade fun

By Lex Latimer |

Me the wife and afew friends went there for dinner . What a great time the food was great. It is like a sports bar arcade great fun arcade games there to play . I highly recommend this place for having a good time with friends and kids .

Very Disappointing

By petergtabber |

Setting the facts straight.... I started this account because of my experience at this establishment. I am also from Wisconsin, where bar-service is an art. We walked into Players to watch a football game and enjoy some beers. We sat down, and were approached by a waiter/waitress approximately 15 minutes after we sat down. All said, our table was approached twice by our server in 100 minutes. Players is a"sports bar"....how do you consume only 2 beers in over 1 1/2 hours? Our table has its own TV, which we needed the channel changed so we could watch a specific football game. I finally went to the hostess and asked if we could change the channel or if we had to wait for our server to arrive and change the channel. The manager was standing right there and said "I was just coming over to change it for you. I was busy eating.". My wife pointed out that he was standing behind me for the first 15 minutes we sat there, and was not eating. That was the first sign that we should have just got up and left. I used to work for a restaurant, so I know how service can be slower for customers when an establishment gets busy. However, it really wasn't that busy at Players. It was also raining out, and there were a few wet footprints on the floor in the restaurant. Not a flood. Not even a really wet floor. Just some wet footprints. The manager seemed more interested in getting help out of the kitchen to come out and dry the floors off with towels then to worry about the service to the customers. If the server was observed running his/her tush off, I'd cut some slack. But the server was observed slowly walking around. I went to track the server down to get our check since it seemed his/her other tables were somewhere in San Jose, but then couldn't find the server. We finally flagged the server down and got our check. This was the most inattentive service I have received in my life. It was also the worst tip I've ever left in my life. Players should shut down for a week and bring the entire management and staff to Wisconsin so they know how to properly run a sports bar and restaurant. People come to a sports bar to watch sports and drink. They come to eat, but the drinks should be coming at a very good pace. The more drinks, the higher the bill. The higher the bill, the higher the tip. Players totally failed. We left and went to a surf / Tiki Bar, and boy, did they get it right. I had more beer served to me in 45 minutes then Players was able to serve me in a hundred minutes. The entire staff from Management on down at Players needs a fire lit under their rear ends. This coming from a very forgiving, cut-some-slack kinda guy.

Good bar overlooking the marina and bay

By David N |

We enjoyed a refreshing drink here after a busy day in San Francisco. The tiki bar at the rear of this bar and arcade is excellent overlooking the marina and harbour. Our waitress Olivia, was friendly and did a wonderful job.

Good food, great staff, fantastic view!

By Donna R |

Went here a couple of times during our stay in San Francisco, mainly because of the view (overlooking the bay) and because we liked the menu. Both times we were served by friendly staff and on both occasions did not have to wait very long for our meals to arrive. My husband had the steak which he said was very good and I had a lovely pasta dish first time round. For our second visit my husband had fish and chips and I had a pulled pork burger, again we were not disapointed. The choice of drinks was good but I felt there could have been a couple of non alcoholic cocktails on offer, which I would have appreciated on our second visit. However when I did order a brandy and cola it was served promptly and there seemed to be an awful lot of drink in the glass (this place doesn't skimp on value for money.) We found the bartenders to be very accommodating and pleasant and our waitress also very personable. If we were ever to visit San Francisco again we would certainly pay this eatery another visit!

Central bar on Pier 39, with unique beers

By Timo van den Berg |

We came just for a beer and were warmly welcomed. The bar is large, and the bartender is really friendly. We did some beers here, paid, and left. I would really recommend going here if you are searching for a nice bar. It is really central on Pier 39 as well!

Great place for a drink & some Olympics viewing!

By tracya1376 |

This is a cute sports bar in the back of Pier 39. We didn't eat there, just had drinks. The bartender was very nice & changed the channel on one of the TV's so we could watch baseball as well as the Olympics (go CUBS!) Clean place, very nice. Also, there is an arcade attached to keep the kids occupied.

Perfect lunch after Alcatraz

By Melissa |

We had lunch here after a tour of Alcatraz and it was a great place to get warm in the rainy weather.there are arcade games for the kids and tvs all around for the adults. Good food.

Poor customer service

By Magda S |

I waited for 15 min to be approached by the server, which surprised me because they were not busy I almost left but Stefan finally showed up and took my order. I ordered clam chowder in sourdough bread, which, I thought, was good. Then I decided to have another clam chowder (no bread this time). So, I while I was waiting for Stefan to return, I looked through the drink and dessert menu. I was thinking about ordering a dessert with my second clam chowder. Stefan showed up, CLOSED the menu that I had sitting open on my table, never asked if I needed anything else and put the bill in front of me. Wow... I thought " ok, you must have decided for me that I was done so I am DONE". I paid and then told him that I had been planning on ordering something else, however, I was leaving since he decided for me that dinner was over. He offered to open another ticket for me :-) but the mood was gone and I left

Best sports viewing at all angles and food is fabulous

By Karylyn Bliss |

We had a brief wait and it was worth it because the food is prepared by a chef using fresh ingredients. The wait staff are terrific in following up on orders and refills, and they use an electronic device to take your order; thus your order is in the kitchen immediately. There are TV screens on all the walls and video games at the back of the room.

Average quality and service.

By Scott |

This was located in the touristy Pier 39 area. The food was average, but good. Server was pleasant, but seemed rushed. Overall, it was as expected.

Huge ribs!

By Kuopiolainen |

I and my wife looked for something eating place and in Pier 39 we got it. Ribs, yes, but we didn’t realize what does it mean. Huge portions! Too much to eat. Service was friendly. We got dog bags...

Pint and snack

By Ross G |

Situated on pier so welcome stop when walking around. Plenty of seats all with reserved signs so need to wait to be seated. Staff friendly enough. Pints cold and food ok bar standard. Loads of tv screens to watch any sport.

Good stop for a drink

By recmouse |

It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday and it was busy all over Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. We stopped in here to take a break and have a drink. The mojito I had was really good and fresh. We got seats at the bar and watched some of the local games that were on. The bartenders were friendly and took some time to talk considering it was so busy. The people next to us got bloody Mary's and they looked phenomenal!

Good if in a pinch for some place to eat

By Loretta A |

Food is OK. Asked for well done fries. My chicken tenders came out well done and the fries done regular. I think the ranch dressing was homemade because it tastes like it had fresh dill in it. Husband had club sandwich. It was good. Slow service and the arcade creates a loud environment. Most of the arcade players were adults and older teenagers. Not overly impressed but had so few choices.

Good service poor food

By Lisa B |

Service was good. Sadly they were let down by the food the condiments ie ketchup tasted of almost completely vinegar and the mayonnaise was off almost separated and yellow and tasted foul

Very poor service but good food

By Richard H |

The food was really good, just a shame about the service, our waiter was quite poor, he came to the table not long after giving us menus and we hadnt decided on food, he then didn’t come back for 15 minutes. The food was really good though and cannot complain at all about that, but then we ordered more drinks which took an age to come and they sent to wrong table. So zero on service 10 for food.

Arcade time!

By knepbra |

Full disclosure: we didn't eat or drink here. This was purely an arcade adventure. We purchased new game cards loaded with $10 each and started off in pursuit of our entertainment. Most games are surprisingly expensive so we didn't get much out of that first $20. We loaded up with another $10 apiece and set off for other games. We blew through $40 in about 30 minutes, but we had a really good time doing so. Standard arcade games and somewhat small selection. We got lots of tootsie rolls, suckers, and various other junk with our winnings :)

Stopped for a beer

By Alan from Greenock |

Seems well laid out however the main server was abrupt and quite rude and we were unable to watch the soccer game we requested . But that didn’t matter to them as we had already ordered drink, no apology just continued poor service. Although I should add the server behind the bar worked tirelessly.

Players Sports Grill & Arcade

By You Only Live Once |

This was a welcome stop as we were flagging from a day of sightseeing and walking around Pier 39. The restaurant has good kerb appeal and was welcoming and warm when we went inside. We were offered a choice of where to sit. The waiters were friendly and attentive and super speedy, which was appreciated considering how tired, thirsty and hungry we were. The clam chowder was very tasty and the burger was one of the best we had while in the USA. There appears to be plenty of sports related activities going on inside, or you can watch 'the game' from the bar too. Overall it was good value for money, a tasty lunch and a welcome break - we'd go back!

12,00 sq ft of fun

By mikeoly13 |

we found this spot searching for a sports bar to watch a Lighting Hockey game. They had plenty of tvs and found the game for us. Well we were blown away.Sports Bar,an Arcade for all ages ant a Tiki Bar right on the bay. Our barkeep,Wednesday, was grand and shined. Especially being he was the only one behind the bar We ordered food for a late lunch. Food did not disappoint .Truth be told we returned on Friday for another Lighting game.

Great Food & Cocktails!

By OutdoorsAlways |

A couple friends and I had dinner and drink in the Luau Lounge at Players, the food was great and the cocktails were very good. Great view of the bay also, I would eat here again.

Not Much Good

By bill w |

The service was very slow even without many customers. Bartender ended up taking our order as he couldn't find server. Once our food was served it looked like and tasted like something pulled from the freezer and thrown into a microwave. After complaint to server they did reduce our bill. All in all service was poor and food even worse. Not a good choice, many other choices for food at Pier 39

Drinks and Sports

By Joey S |

This is a cool place to have cocktails and watch College Football. We had already eaten so we didn't have any food, but the cocktails were great, the atmosphere was just as great, fun was to be had. I would definitely go back and try the eats.

Poor service and average food

By Yasmine D |

The girl with the long blonde ponytail doesn’t care whether you come here or not. We walked in, and waited for a seat, she ignored us while talking to another employee. She did apologise. But then continued to ignore us. Eventually we were seated, she left, and we weren’t sure if she was going to come back. Ordered our drinks, then she forgot about them. She apologised again. Then she eventually came back to take our ordered. She wasn’t aware of her surroundings at all and talked over our table to another employee. There are only so many times you can say sorry, before you realise she doesn’t mean it. The food was mediocre, chips were stale and tasted like they were reheated. Not really worth your money here.

Players was just right for us

By Star_Trekers2000 |

Players was not too busy and we were seated in a quieter corner of the restaurant to enjoy the various NFL games on the screens. We needed a place to relax and soak up a bit of America and this was the perfect place for us.

Overall poor

By Meghan P |

We went during a playoff baseball game. I ordered the crab roll and boyfriend ordered the appy platter. First his drink came wrong but we didn’t say anything. The food did come very quickly but it was literally over cooked, rubbery crab meat on a bun. Dry. For $19.99 it was a complete waste of money. His food was just okay. Our server came to take our plates and handed us the bill at the same time. He did not ask how it was or if we wanted anything else. We were there watching baseball so we most definitely would have ordered more drinks but we felt very unimportant at this point. We will not return.

Avoid at all costs

By Cazaa |

After a fabulous week of American hospitality and fantastic customer service, we were unfortunate to stumble upon this place. The waiter was misleading in his options for the food and we were charged extra for garlic chips and a jacket potato, despite being offered these as options when we ordered meals. One starter failed to appear yet was presented on the bill. The waiter and manager (?) were rude and lacking in customer care skills. In fact the owner asked for feedback yet clearly didn't like what was being reported! The food itself, to be fair, was good, but the poor service and feeling of being ripped off, outweighed this. In short, do not go

Good & basic, nothing special

By PetraTuomi |

Came here for lunch, we chose this place since we were hungry and this place was the first one we saw. Menu is very basic, food is basic, and so is the service. My husband had club burger, I had spaghetti bolognese. Then we also had one beer and a soda. In my opinion, 48$ + 7$ tip is very expensive for basic stuff. Not good value for money. Wouldn't go again.

Nothing spectacular

By Michelle O |

While looking for somewhere to eat on Pier 39, we chose Players Sports Grill because of their more kid-friendly menu. The food was average at best. Both kids had chicken fingers and fries, again just average. The "ranch" dressing was subpar. The hubs and I had chicken quesadillas and they were tasty. Service was good, which was a plus. The noise level was on the loud side due to the attached arcade. I wouldn't go again.

Not playing around

By Anton C |

Ate here on our second trip to pier 39. Nice atmosphere and a nice place to grab a fast lunch. Seated quickly and had our food ordered and brought to our table relatively quickly. Both our meals were very tasty. Sports themed bar that looks really funky :)

Busy place, great for sports fans but not a lot of variety for food.

By Tufstuf71 |

We were there on New Year's Eve, got right in a little bit after lunch time. We were seated back in the bar area even though we had two minors with us, guess that's okay as there were other families there. The bartender/waiter was not very attentive and we almost got up and left do to him not waiting on us. There were only 3 other tables with people in that area when we arrived. The bloody mary I had was really good, but would not have ordered it if I knew it was going to be $15.00 as it was not that good or spicy. Close to the marina, however it was a bit chilly having to sit by the window that you could feel the breeze through. I'm sure it's a great place to eat when the weather is nicer. Lots of arcade games to play for kids, more expensive than Chuck E Cheese games and the prizes were the same.

Just Average

By FrankBDiving |

Dinner at Players after our Alcatraz trip. Food was good but a bit on the pricey side for the portions. Service was good but tended to deteriorate as time went on and the place was not that busy so that was a bit puzzling. We didn’t play any of the games but it did tend to get loud at times and I almost took a basketball to the head from a missed shot on my way to the bathroom from a very competitive player…ha! We did ask to be seated by the window so we could view the bay so that was really nice. I could see this place being pretty fun for a group of people looking to have some arcade and game fun. Maybe we were just tired from our long day on the rock but I wasn’t really wowed by this place.

Nice dinner

By Jean F |

We were seated in the back, with a great view of the bay, since we weren't there to see the soccer game. Quick service! We had the potato skins appetizer, and I had the Thai noodle salad with steak and peanuts. A little spicy but very good!

Players Should Be Benched

By Patrick M |

Players is located on Pier 39 in San Francisco. Went here for a late lunch early dinner one night. The service was slow. The food was less than average. I had a pulled pork sandwich and my friend had a burger. I think we could of got better food at McDonalds. Every place on the Pier is worth trying before this one.

This place is terrible

By ddelaney633 |

We went here for lunch as they had tables that looked over the water at pier 39. We were really hungry! I had a club sandwich - it came as 2 slices of thick stale toast with a processed chicken slice, a piece of the end of the lettuce (the hard white bit) and a bit of tomato. There was no butter, mayo or sauce of any kind. I honestly didn’t think you could destroy a club sandwich but they managed. My husband had a pulled pork burger - it was a bit better, at least edible. The fries were uncooked, soggy and inedible. Just don’t go here to eat.

Quirky and fun

By barry m |

I fancied a clam chowder in a sour dough bowl and this place did not disappoint. Not sure when we first walked in as it does feel a bit like an amusement arcade but the food was good and the atmosphere was friendly. I could not eat my way through the sour dough bowl but I finished the chowder and had a good go at the bowl as well. Interesting place, there are lots of other restaurants around on the Pier but we were glad to have happened on this one.

Recommend this arcade and bar and grill to anyone big or small. We had a great time!

By mary jo c |

This Arcade is in the middle of Pier 39, once in the bar/restaurant, very nice. We went with kids, and grandchildren ordered food and drinks, extremely reasonable for San Francisco. The staff was overly friendly and kind. My grandchildren had a ball!

Perfect for Sunday football

By Kathryn H |

After strolling around the pier, I went in Players to watch some football. I sat at the bar after the host pointed out which TVs had the games I wanted to watch. The older bartender came up right away and took my drink order. I forget his name, but he was very friendly and made some small talk while pouring my beer, which as a woman alone at the bar I truly appreciate. Ordered some clam chowder and it was pretty good (San Francisco chowder, not New England). The people next to me ordered garlic fries and they smelled amazing. It did get really crowded for a bit, but then died down again towards the end of the first set of games. I would definitely go back.

Second Choice, But a Good Choice

By B H |

Went to Bubba Gumps first, but with over an hour wait we decided to look elsewhere and found Players under Bubba Gumps. Menu offerings was more than a typical sports bar which was nice as we had intended to have a filling meal. I had a steak and my wife had the chicken with the coconut shrimp appetizer. All is very good. Place is good for kids because they also have an arcade which keeps them busy if they don't want to watch sports TV.

Nice food but small portions

By Ian D |

Players is located in Pier 39 and in addition to food and drink has a games arcade out the back with giant Pac-Man and basket games amongst others. We were seated quickly by a friendly server. I had the lasagna and my wife had a shrimp pasta dish which both came with a slice of garlic bread. Both dishes were tasty but the portions were small and overpriced.

Just average all around

By Duane B |

Had the philly cheese steak - not much meat, a lot of bun. Fries were okay. Service was pretty good. I would not eat here again - I'd try something else.

A nice family place for dinner on a busy Saturday evening.

By Lanamamaomaha |

The service was friendly, the food was really good, and the atmosphere is great for kids, with games to play.

Players sports bar and grill

By Stewart W |

Had dinner here Saw it a couple of days earlier Came back in evening and we weren’t disappointed Great atmosphere with live sports on big screens I had ribs which I could have shared as such a huge portion Wife had ny steak and she loved it She always has it medium rare but in America it has to be medium well otherwise it’ll be RARE Food was wonderful and service was quick and efficient Very clean place and wasn’t to packed as with most sports bars Very well laid out Prices were good $26 for ribs and $28 for ny steak Choice of different sides as well BRILLIANT 👍

Arcade and Beer

By Barn |

We did not have a meal at the Players Sports Grill and Arcade but we did visit the arcade and grab a cold refreshing beer. The staff are all very welcoming and were happy to help at any time. The arcade is entertaining but can burn a hole in your pocket(as you expect in an arcade). There is a wide array of drinks to choose from so you will not be disappointed.

Location, location, location

By JW266 |

This restaurant is in a fabulous location! There, i said something positive. Slow service, my drink was empty. After waiting a very long time, i got up to go to the bar for a refill. My server then magically appeared. I arrived after the kunch rush and there were 5 tables being served. My wait for food (a burger) was inordinately long. The burger was "good", but not the value I would expect in a $20 burger. The noise level in the restaurant was extreme. Yes, they have an arcade on site So, bad service, expensive food , and noisy. Nope, I wont ever be back. The lack of service killed the experience.

Great atmosphere

By FW86 |

There was a great atmosphere here when we stopped for dinner, the stanly cup final was on so the crowd were enthused!! We had the fish tacos and the venison burger and the wings, good food, generous portions, tried a few local beers. Staff were excellent, great with their recommendations of beers ect, think our server was Francis!

Great Nachos

By Sheilz W |

We just wanted a beer and a snack, so called in here. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We ordered 2 Bud Lights ($7 each) & a plate of Nachos ($13.99) to share. The Nachos were very good, beer was good, there was a nice atmosphere in the place and as I've said the staff were attentive and friendly. Bill came to $31.74 with the extra charges etc

Great place to watch the Super Bowl

By VannessaB |

This has a fun atmosphere, lots of sports screens, attentive welcoming bar staff. Only downside was the food was very expensive for what it was - basic, but freshly cooked.

It was OK!

By Ted S |

It was a good burger, a bit noisy from the arcade hall though. Price was OK and friendly staff! Good for a quick burger!

Food Poisoning

By rick3115 |

We were greeted ok and the service was OK. I had the Fish and Chips and my wife had the Vegan Burger. Her's didn't look as good as it read in the menu. Anyway she was up all night with a very bad case of food poisoning. Means we have lost the complete day in San Fran. I hope she's ok tomorrow Never see us there again!

Does Ok 👌

By Brooke L |

Decent food for a tourist restaurant, although service a little slow at times. Wait staff friendly, just food a bit slow to arrive. Suggest asking for seating near the back of the restaurant as much quieter than near the arcade, plus great bay views.

Don't go here

By Scott |

Since they lump the restaurant in the arcade together, I'm happy to review the arcade. Avoid this place like the plague. 40 points is equivalent to 2 US dollars. That's the cost for one child's game. I walked in, got ready to buy some tokens, saw the price, and promptly walked out. Do not waste a penny at this place.

Food & Arcade

By Nita |

Drinks and food was pretty good. My daughter enjoyed the arcade. Food is a little pricey but I guess that's to be expected considering the location.

TIKI BAR!!

By jb1477 |

The tiki bar is hidden in the back and a little tough to find but has a nice view and was a great experience for our group! Fun little bar!

Fun place to hang out with friends

By Britt B |

If you are hungry try the Kobe burger. It's a nice sports bar with plenty of screens to watch your favorite games, have some local brews and play catch up with friends. There is also an arcade and a tiki bar, where you can enjoy the view of the bay and have a rest in between shopping and sight seeing. A fun place to visit.

Really good spot

By Stella M |

Enjoyed this cozy spot. We loved the fire pit. We were able to enjoy our food and watch the show going on outside. The ribs are a must. A whole slab is enough for 3

Great for TV Sport

By Lewis S |

Was on a cruise ship Feb. 2018. No six nations rugby onboard. Went into Players for a quick beer and there it was on, live as well. Stayed for the afternoon. Had a great time. Would recommend the Pasta and prawn dish. Staff very friendly.

Last minute lunch stop

By oregonmomma2 |

My family and I were visiting Pier 39 on Father’s Day. Unfortunately, we put off eating lunch until we were much too hungry to wait anywhere to be seated. Luckily Players Sports Grill was able to get us a table right away! The restaurant food itself was just okay. Nothing wrong with it, just standard American food. The environment though was very fun. TV’s with different sports on all over as well as a very large arcade in the back.

Nice food

By Steve D |

We called in here for dinner. Menu was good, we chose chicken Caesar salad which was excellent, and one of us had a triple starter which was massive and also excellent. The service was superb and we had a great visit.

Nice location

By jeep_girl_00 |

My fiancé and I went to Players Sports Grill for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Great location. We were seated outside with a view of a live show on the Pier. The staff were very friendly, service was fast, and the food was ok.

Good food and great view.

By Steve W |

The menu is standard American fare and tasty. The service is good and the atmosphere is comfortable. Decked out in Pacific Island style, they serve a good range of cocktails, beers and soft drinks (sodas), and you can settle in at the bar if you choose. Worth the views if you can wind your way through to the waterside of the restaurant and a fine collection of old arcade games to keep little ones busy, and the not so little ones.

Good food but cold inside restaurant

By TommyLisa |

There is nothing bad to say about the food we had lasagne and spaghetti and both where good. One thing was bad here they should have closed the dors because it was very cold inside the restaurant.

Terrible service

By eaglesrest2 |

Awful server refused to seat us as a table of 5 despite the place being practically empty. She said that they had no tables for 5 people high was clearly untrue. Feel sorry for the owners missing out on custom

Tourist trap

By AndreasBch |

Low quality of food, burgers dry with buns you could not eat. Service mediocre and price for what u get sky high

Fun for all

By Mary Ann C |

Went to Players on Pier 39 for our last lunch. We sat in the back with the windows open overlooking the bay. Great view of Alcatraz and the bay. Service was excellent, food was very good and my grandson had a ball playing the arcade games while we waited for our food to arrive. Prices were reasonable and the kids menu was a good size portion. The arcade is far enough away from the tables so that you don't hear the noise of the games.

Easy afternoon

By mmybj |

Have to be honest and say a bit worried when we walked through and the noise in the games room but very pleased when we got to our table 'out back' great view of Alcatraz over the water. Our waitress was great, no trouble with our accents and very attentive even though the were very busy

Acceptable beer-pub food, pricey games though

By DaleYuzuki |

With two elementary-aged boys they wanted to play arcade games after eating, so we chose this place over Bubba Gump's right above it. Service was fair, not very attentive; typical beer-pub fare seemed a bit pricey, but you are at Pier 39, so it may be expected. My burger was nothing special, the boy's Mac and Cheese and burgers were acceptable. The ricotta cheesecake was notable for its quality - the only thing I remember thinking that it was 'worth it' (a $6 splurge). The arcade cards were $9 apiece, which I thought would last the boys at least 15 min of play, but alas, they were finished in less than 10 minutes. (They aren't super-skilled at video games, but still...)

Great

Good value for money. Good food and variety. Excellent choice, both for a classic dinner and to taste typical local dishes.

Hidden Gem

Found this bar/restaurant by chance as its hidden away in the arcade. Really good drinks at a reasonable price. Good pint of Guinness and gorgeous cocktails. Food looked really good too although we didn't sample it. Well worth a visit.

Good food and drinks!

Had a great meal on the patio by the fire and the drink was even better! My husband didn't like his drink because of heartburn so I drank his too😋 I had a shrimp salad and all the veggies tasted so fresh! This is the second visit here and if we come back to SF next time we will stop here again!

Decent drinks

In the middle of Pier 39 this is a place to grab a bite or have drinks. there is an outside section where you can watch the crowd shuffle by. Service is friendly and, considering the crowd, swift.

Great Atmosphere, Really friendly people

Had a wonderful dinner here and the BEST Pina Colada! But what I loved the most was the staff. Our waitress was just wonderful! I had a little trouble with what I ordered and she was right there to fix everything for me. So Friendly. We didn't go into the arcade - just the restaurant - but I was sure glad that was the place we chose. Wish I'd gotten our waitresses name - she was just so sweet!

Quick lumch

Stopped off here with friends on a Friday afternoon. Most of the other places on Pier 39 were really busy, but we were seated here quickly. Portions were decent, I ordered chicken strips and chips from the starters menu and was surprised at the main sized portion that I got! It was okay and inexpensive, especially for lunch. Staff were a little slow when we wanted the bill but otherwise okay.

Terrible service and food

By Fredrik I |

1h wait for the food to arrive. Cannot tell what dishes contains what allergens even after consulting the chef. Fails to take a sallad order correctly. Sallad ordered explicitly without chicken (vegetarian) arrives with chicken. Blue cheese listed as ingredient not in sallad.

Relaxed, friendly, great atmosphere

Needed a sports bar with volume for the world cup, Chloe our server was excellent, manager very attentative and sorted us with a table immediately on arrival, food and rinks good, price point good. Would return.

Food ok but not great service

After a day of sight seeing, cruise etc we fancied a casual dinner. Menu looked good and sadly we were seated right at the back out the way. Service was not brilliant but the food was tasty. Its more of a place for a quick dinner than somewhere special.

Nice place to chill

Nice place to chill in the evening - we took few drinks at this place one our way to dinner restaurant. They had happy hour drink list which was pretty good, staff were friendly and place was crowded

Fun arcade experience

My wife and I came here while at Pier 39 and enjoyed some fun game play. There is a wide variety of fun games to play here.

Excellent lunch

I had the lobster roll, my mum had the clam chowder in a bread bowl my brother had the fish and chips and my dad had the pulled pork roll all of which were amazing especially my roll as I expected it to be filled out with mayo but it wasn’t it was just lobster and garlic butter which was delicious and one of the cheaper places to eat in that area which was a bonus

NBA on the big screens

By Scott M |

Visited several times during our 7 day visit to San Francisco and was attracted to the venue as they had many screens showing sports, especially NBA. Arrived one evening without a booking and the place was packed but the found a bar table close to a TV with NBA on and we were set. Service was great, they asked us what sport we wanted to watch and which game and set it up on the TV in front of us where we stayed for a few hours. Menu is extensive sports bar style food and very reasonable priced. The burgers are great especially the Players Burger with extras. My son had the Cheese Pizza from the kids menu which also came with a game card for the arcade games. Drinks were reasonable priced and a good selection of tap beers so I had a few whilst my son spent some time in the arcade! Had the Nachos on another night, serving was huge so skip lunch! There is also good free wifi. The staff really looked after us and I was super impressed at how they made sure we had the game we wanted to watch on the TV in front of us, Thanks, we will be back if we ever make it back to San Francisco again.
