Disappointed in the quality of the food. Short rib appetizer was very tough and tasteless. Entree’s were good but not as good as expected. Flourless cake so so. Will not be back. I know all restaurants can have an off night but this seemed to be a quality issue. For the prices they charge, the food should be much better. Views were great!

My partner, David, and I were treated to a meal here by David’s son and daughter in law. We had a wonderful time. The views were stunning. The food was superb, as was the servers.

Polaris restaurant - rotating restaurant at the top of Hyatt hotel. ordered: Georgia cheese tasting plate and Sweet Potato Sourdough app, both delicious. main meals : Seabass with vegetables and Steak Oscar with sauteed crab and asparagus. both meals prepared perfectly. both meals were amazing, we recommend both of them. the menu changes frequently so diners won't be bored. Robert, our server, was friendly and helpful. he gave great recommendations, accurate descriptions. he was wonderful. We heard that the food changes are not always updated online quick enough, so what you see online might not be available when you go, that was not a problem for us. In all, Yes, we would recommend Polaris, the setting was beautiful, food was great and service was wonderful.

We went there for a cocktail It was very good and quite cheap . The view is fantastic and you can stay quite a long time

The staff was beyond friendly and the food was amazing. The views are great. After a while you don’t notice the spinning. Get the charcuterie board. It’s a must!

The server was my date! Antoinette is a credit to the establishment. Friendly, took lots of photos to avoid the tragic solo selfies and made sure I was well looked after all night. I had the cheese and charcuterie board and she explained all the items and the best way to eat them. It was a good portion and soooo tasty. The rotating view was fun as the sun set as was seeing the kitchen pass by. A great way to finish my visit to ATL!

Great restaurant for dates, especially romantic occasions. The atmosphere is trendy and luxurious and the food is awesome. I've tried several things on their menu and it was all great and presented brilliantly.

We were there for a birthday celebration. Parking wasn’t going to be easy so we took Uber. Good choice! Arrived 40 minutes before reservation. They would not let us up the elevator until closer to time so we drank at the bar. Drank at bar and then went up. Gorgeous and competent. Bought us drinks to make up for our table being late. (5 min). A little cumbersome to get to the restaurant but 100% worth it. Food and service were amazing.

Went up for a drink and a view and it was 100 percent worth it. Pleasant service, excellent signature Cabernet and cheese plate. The perfect place to oversee Atlanta and wind down. We did not dine there, but thoroughly enjoyed a glass of wine.

Wonderful service, food and ambience ! Panoramic view. A little bit expensive but you pay the pretty place. Nice to have a funny time around a good wine and cheese !

This restaurant was absolutely outstanding from the views to the drinks. My date was very happy about the our visit. The food and the presentation was great.

I made reservation but had to cancel because i got really sick. But an honest, i texted to cancel from the number that they texted me to confirmed, failed to realize that i had to call to cancel but anyways my credit card got charged $90 because it was a reservation for 6 people for 10 o'clock pm mind you because that was the only time left. Anyways, i called left a message and a manager called back and i explained what had happened and he liberally over talk you and talks a mile a minute and didn't really care to hear me out and hung up on me towards the end before i even finished my sentence. Very rude...i will never go to Polaris for that reason alone. Unreasonable and not understanding!!!

Great ambiance. Live band played amazing music. Everything was especially perfect for a date nice. I had the oscar steak and my date had the pork loin both were amazinggggggg. Definitely recommend:)

In an earlier TA review I stated I'd enjoyed the bar experience, but might not make a return visit unless staying again in the area hotels. Well, I recently did another overnight stay, and decided to give Polaris another shot . . . and VERY glad I did. It was smooth and perfection from start to finish, due in LARGE part to bar tender Tami, a recent transplant from South Florida. She offered excellent bar service, light conversation, helpful answers to some questions about the area . . . and makes delicious beverages. Kudos to Tami on pretty much everything being done. I found out about some liquors being aged onsite and gave that a try. I discovered that two wines (one red and one white) are exclusively branded to Polaris. Although they weren't amazing, they were very good. The appetizer options are unique and delicious. The dedicated elevator system to Polaris makes the visit convenient. The check-in process means they'll be expecting you on arrival. The view is ever-changing due to the rotation, and when paired with quality food & beverage . . . and service . . . what's not to totally enjoy. Thanks, Polaris (and Tami) for making me feel welcome on my recent visit. I will definitely be returning, and quite soon.

Our waiter Marcus was incredible. He added a great deal to our enjoyment of the meal. He gave us plenty of time -- no rush, even thought the restaurant was busy and provided us with suggestions from the menu. You may want to come for the view since it is remarkable. Polaris makes a complete 360 degree revolution revealing all of downtown Atlanta. But don’t be concerned of motion sickness or any effect other than the awe it provides as it makes a full revolution in an hour. You will be pleasantly surprised when you see the presentation of food and then taste it! I highly recommend the sweet potato soup. I LUV friend oysters and have them any time I see them on a menu. I was a bit disappointed in the fried oysters they were over battered and it was difficult to get the oyster fragrance and taste from them. But, this dish has a lot of great competition since my favorites are made by the Oyster Bar in New York City. Wish I had taken photos to show but I was digging into the food before thinking of that. The diners were a mixed group of business people, families, and couples. Although there were many people dining the noise level was such that we could easily carry out a conversation. One large family seemed to be celebrating a special event, although near-by they didn’t prevent us from having a peaceful conversation.

Just don't have the words!!!! Great food great service. The honey infused bread and mushroom soup, Salmon and prime cuts........ The honey is fresh off the cone...... I wish I could have bought some but they don't sell it(I wouldn't either) sweet taste........A must visit...... Oh and the restuarant revolves so your view changes..........

I was in Atlanta for a business trip this past week. I wanted to find a space that was quiet and relaxing with really great food. Polaris restaurant gave me just that. The creative cocktails that they offer are simply exquisite. I highly recommend the flower power. As for food please delight yourself in the potato leek soup. The rotating restaurant also adds to its character !

I absolutely loved this experience and I'm afraid of heights. You take a reserved elevator to the restaurant, the decor, the way the tables are set up... exquisite! I felt we were the only ones. We were lucky enough to catch the sunset as our table faced it at the perfect moment. I loved my evening

We had made reservations in advance and we were also staying at the hotel. Check in was uneventful. We ordered the Sheep's Cheese as our appetizer; the Roasted Venison and Acorn Squash Pasta for our entrees. We followed our meal with the Pumpkin Mousse for dessert. Our meals were absolutely delicious. The view and atmosphere were amazing. Our server was pleasant and attentive. He provided superb service. We highly recommend eating here. We are also planning our next visit.

Hyatt Regency- made me nausea. This place turns..moves. If you feel nausea easily, DO NOT EAT HERE. It was romantic. We went downstairs to Sway- their restaurant. It was nothing special

We chose the Hyatt Regency specifically to dine at Polaris. We were NOT dissatisfied! Great food, staff, and ambience. The views were AMAZING as we revolved on the rooftop. Since we were out all day, we initially thought dessert and drinks would be sufficient, but quickly changed our minds after witnessing the Chef at work. We definitely plan on visiting again.

Medium sized party - had a blast! The food was excellent and the service was awesome. Our family/party host opted for a pre-planned menu with a variety of things brought to the table for all to share. The restaurant offers a few gluten free items. (If you have a severe allergic reaction though, I would ask for double confirmation on things before eating) the chef was fun, he came out to our table and went over the dishes he was preparing - the wait staff was quick and very team oriented. All and all it was a delicious meal - the atmosphere was beautiful and the new renovations are very well done. I personally look forward to going back in the near future!

Have been here twice in the last 2 months. Strongly recommend reservations, but you can sit at the bar without them. They have some odd rules with seating and many slots are usually reserved. The drinks are very good, and the food is excellent - I had duck and my wife the filet and they were delicious. The service is only fair, but the view is nice and rotates constantly.

We were in town for a business trip and so had a date night at the Polaris. What fun! Different and tasty cocktails, and the food was also delicious. We watched the sun set over Atlanta and dined at a leisurely pace while seeing the whole city. Gimmicky but really fun.

The food was really great and we enjoyed it the issue is with the service which is rather not attentive. The worst was that they brought the starter midway through our mains. Upon bringing our mains the server apologized for the starter not coming out first. I assumed then it'd come after we were finished our mains, that would be ok. Nope, it came right in the middle of our mains, now what? Scallops can't be eaten cold, so do I hurry eat my main and hope scallop is still warm, or do I leave my main and eat a scallop? So it was super rushed cause I didn't want to let anything go cold. That was disappointing. We were given a free dessert for this fiasco, however IMO the starter should have been free since that is what was messed up and was more expensive than the dessert. Also unfortunately, the buildings around it are much taller so the view is not so great. However, I wouldn't write this place off entirely.

Great atmosphere for sure. But the portions are extremely small for the price . Left the place still hungry. Very limited choices and very limited menu. A place to try once. With the variety of expensive classy restaurants and rooftops in Atlanta better go somewhere else.

Face it, you don't go to Polaris for the food, you go for the view, and the rotating restaurant. The wine list and drink list is good and complete. The food menu covers the basics, and that's about all. Time your arrival an hour before sunset for the best of the best views. If you have the chance to choose a waiter, Gary was ours, and he's great!

Polaris is exquisite, the food amazing, the presentation was incredible, it was pure perfection. From the appetizer, main course to the desert, all I mean all was exquisite. Highly recommend it!!! Cant wait o visit another Hyatt Regency restaurant, you get to see the city lights in all directions since it goes around.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Booked on-line in June table for 4 for dinner 20:30. Arrived at 20:25 in the lobby of the hotel and had to wait at the bottom of the lift for 20mins!! Having been told the table is not ready, we specifically booked this hotel as we were travelling through Atlanta for one night, and this was my first indication that things were not right. I said to the uninterested lady on the desk in the lobby why wasn’t we told in advance of getting ready - someone could have called our room 1203 to tell us. Having piped up At this point we were allowed in the elevator and headed up to the restaurant. We were then taken to a table that was only a foot tall and asked to sit here.. I asked if this was our table for the evening or was it just to have a pre-dinner drink before being moved to our dinning table and was told this was it for the evening? I explained that we could not eat from that and we would like a proper table. The server went to check we stone and waited but he never came back. At 8:55 we walked back to the entrance to speak to the manager who told us that’s all they had as they were fully booked!! I said that I think it was unacceptable that you made us wait in the lobby and unacceptable that they believed that table was suitable for dinning. My wife was very upset and my children commented that maybe it’s best we leave now as things can only get worse! I believe that we dodged a bullet by not eating here and by reading some of these reviews- poor service and substandard expensive food quality for great views is not worth it. Will never return… went to hooters up the street where they couldn’t do enough for us now tired grumpy Brits.

Booked Polaris to celebrate my wife's birthday. Valet parking was easy, however check-in to Polaris wasn't so nice. We were delayed for awhile because seats weren't available on time, despite that we booked via OpenTable. Food service was great and was priced as expected. Servers were very knowledgeable and helpful (kudos to the black short dude). He took time to walk us through the menu, and also recommended some lovely virgin drinks. He also validated our valet parking, hence we saved about $25 on parking.

Food was poor. Service was average. View was ok. I expected much more for the price I got. I would go back to Nikolai’s or sundial before here again.

Visited this restaurant whilst attending a conference, I was not sure how this meal was going to pan out as we had an extra guest than the party we had booked , however the head waiter although not pleased squeezed us onto a table. The service was excellent Jon our waiter was wonderful. the food was very good and I would recommend the mixed Beetroot salad to start. Also I would recommend the paste with Italian sausage ( it looked like a small plate until you started to eat - I had to give food away as I could not eat it all). Our other guest had Lamb chops and they said these were great. There was a good selection of wines but some at the very high end. This is not a cheap place to eat but very worth a visit if you want something a little bit different. Bacon Flavoured popcorn ? was not sure on that one but the others liked it . Loved the soda bread with Citrus butter. I would eat here again.

I rate the quality of my trip by the quality of the meals I enjoy while traveling, Polaris puts my dining experiences at the very top. The food was exceptional, paired with the staff and the locale, it was of the finest dining experiences I have experienced, bar none!

we were staying in the Hotel and didn`t want to get out because of the snowfall so we decided to have dinner at the bar which was a very good decision because it was astonishinly good. very good Cocktails and an excellent pork belly with interesting craft beer and nice Service.

Our first visit to Atlanta and wanted to go for some luxuries. I read about rotating rooftop restaurants and I did those in Los Angeles and St. Louis...so I wanted my daughter to experience it as well. We saw the Polaris and also the Sundial but, the Sundial doesn't rotate anymore amd Polaris required a reservation. So I reserved for Monday March 11 at 6:45pm using Open Table. Well, we got there quite early and the nice lady at the podium let us go up. I didn't know how Open Table works but I gave them my name and we were seated immediately. It was so beautiful, though we were dressed in leather and leggings but neatly pulled together..our server was a beautiful lady who's name I forgot but she was stellar! My daughter ordered the cheese platter and I the brisque. Then the entrees...I a seafood lover ordered the oysters with scallops and...to the fullest, tasty! My daughter had the cauliflower steak delicious as well. And....the dessert: the blue dome cake. What a beautiful experience with the rotation did not feel dizzy at all (thank God we're healthy)and the prices...reasonable. We highly recommend to all thrillseekers who are also fine diners. Since we're 2 adults we're a couple right? It's the type of visit selection that best describes us.

The restaurant set's up high over the Hyatt Regency. It is circular and rotates very slowly. The food was outstanding as well as the service. Make sure you make a reservation.

My adult son and I had an early dinner here during Dragon Con. The restaurant doesn't open until after 5:00 PM so earlier than that is not an option. The restaurant has a limited menu, but the food is quite well prepared and delicious. They have a specialty Peach frozen margarita that is very good. Of course the main attraction for us was the somewhat unique feature of the restaurant itself. It is located on top of the Hyatt Hotel in Downtown Atlanta. That is the part of the building with the large blue dome. The entire restaurant revolves 360 degrees to give you a panoramic view the city and beyond. We could see all the way to Stone Mountain! The rotation is very slow and you don't feel the movement, but if you fix your gaze on something stationary outside, you can perceive the motion. During the course of our meal, we went completely around about one and a half times. The service was friendly and very courteous. The price might be a little higher than you would expect to pay at a normal family type restaurant, but this isn't exactly a normal family type restaurant. We dined in the early evening, but I would imagine dining after dark would be even more spectacular with all the city lights on. We give it a solid thumbs-up and are glad we went. On a side note, it is upscale, but during Dragon Con they will allow costumes so long as they do not interfere with other customers - like large wings or props. I had asked on the Atlanta forum and was more or less told no, you couldn't wear your costume up there. Just a heads-up for future Dragon Con goers that want to give it a try.

My husband I went for date night. Food was amazing, the slow rotation gave a nice of the city. We watched the sun set while eating dinner. Waitress was very knowledgeable and they change their menu every 6 weeks. Steak Oscar, didn’t even need a knife for the steak!!!

Excellent restaurant at the top of the hotel. Excellent food and atmosphere. Definitely a must to try.

This was such a beautiful establishment. I enjoyed Birthday pre-game cocktails and appetizers and an amazing view. Our server Gary made my birthday super special! Amazing service and atmosphere! A must see in Atlanta!!!

Absolutely Amazing!!! my best friend and I went to Polaris to have a nice dinner on a Monday, the view is breathtaking and the service is outstanding. Michael, our server, was very nice. The manager was so helpful and always giving a great impression, He came to the table talk to us, served us more wine and also took us to the elevator. Last but not least The FOOD is delicious, the mix of flavors in every single dish is a perfect match! (order the rissotto fried appetizer). It was definetley such a great Monday in one the of the best restaurants in Atlanta. Congrats!

I’m an Atlanta native and remember the glowing blue dome from my childhood. When the restaurant and bar reopened a few years ago, I couldn’t wait to go! My boyfriend took me there for my birthday soon after we’d met. We went back there to get engaged. The seating area is cozy and intimate with a variety of types of stylish and comfortable furniture arrangements for both couples and larger groups. The open kitchen is interesting to see. Even the restroom is stylish! (I’m an architect and always check out a restaurants restroom) Try the signature peach daiquiri! The only slight heads up is that the view is a bit obstructed at times because the city has grown up around it. On the other hand, seeing the blue dome reflected in the skyscrapers is cool. Dusk into evening is Instagram worthy.

This is an iconic and cool place to eat. Despite its age, it is still cool. It is well appointed and feels like a special place to eat. The menu is super basic, but the food is excellent. The service was good (Antoinette, was brilliant). Our night was interrupted by a very loud group on an Atlatnta tour. We did not complain, but the venue could see we were jit happy and comped our sweets and a round of drinks. Glad they did, good service from decent people in a decent place

I’ve been to this restaurant several times now and can’t recommend it enough. Excellent food and atmosphere at a great price. A must visit location!

the service is OUTSTANDING. The food is delicious, the place is very fancy. Love it! But as i said, the service is the best part, one of the best i had ever experience. Tip big, they deserve it!!!

The spices and aromas blend together to create an explosion of flavor. The atmosphere is spectacular. The service is 20/10. The view is unparalleled. The drinks are like brushstrokes of shapes, flavors, and spices.

The halibut was ablsolutely delicious, flakey, delicately prepared and moist. The side was quinoa which was cooked deliciously prepared. The restaurant serves all fresh foods and has a bee hive on the premises. We could see the bee hive complex which houses 80,000 bees. Dessert was a Blue Dome and the presentation was chic and delicious - You will not regret. Frey took care of use from start to finish and the service was superior. The best time in Atlanta!!!

This revolving restaurant is perched on top of the Hyatt Regency hotel, and is one of those revolving disks which remind you of the flying saucer from the movies. But the food is fine, and the service meticulous. Great view, of course.

I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for an intimate as well as very fun atmosphere. The menu is small however everything on the menu was wonderful. A special mention to our server, Donovan, that made our evening so very special as we were celebrating my birthday.

My husband and I decided to come here for our anniversary just for drinks and possible dessert. When we got to the hotel, we did have to ask someone where to go but it was pretty simple once we got to the greeting station. The elevator takes you straight up to the restaurant. The decor was sooo different, kind of like an old, but upscale, library. It was really nice. Our waiter Michael, was very attentive and nice. We ordered the colossal shrimp and risotto. OMG- it was delicious! After the waiter found out it was our anniversary, he gave us their special Polaris dessert. Some type of flourless cake(more like a mousse). I thought it was great. The view was spectacular and we will definitely be going back.

The best part of this visit was the server who was great! But the menu is very limited, salad looked great but limited flavor, would not return or recommend.

I took my partner to The Polaris Room last evening for his birthday. The restaurant has not lost it's magic touch. The sunset scenery in the revolving room was spectacular and the food and service were excellent. It is a bit pricey but hits the spot for a special occasion.

The view here is awesome, food is fantastic and service was terrific. Drinks are on point here. We had the watermelon salad, meat and cheese board, and the sourdough bread to share between the two of us. The floor rotates around the kitchen, everything is fresh and made to order. We had the Polaris dome for dessert and it was so good. Our server was great, I wish I remembered her name but she made our experience even that much better. Highly recommended for couples even if it's just for a drink at the bar.

This restaurant is at the top of a hotel in the heart of downtown Atlanta. It is an upscale, revolving restaurant. My appetizers were great. The service was very good. This is a cozy, relaxing place to dine or have drinks. It could be romantic. I've been coming here since 1967. This was the place to be in the late 1960s. This hotel was built by a world renown architect, John Portman.

The view is spectacular, but the food was average at best. Very disappointed by the quality of the food. I had a salad and potato soup. It was over 30.00 which would have been fine if it was tasty. The soup tasted like instant mashed potatoes with smokey bacon. Very bland. The goat cheese was very good in the salad, but everything else lacked in flavor. Would not recommend.

The Polaris is the original rotating rooftop restaurant and lounge in downtown ATL. Sitting atop the Grand Hyatt, this John Portman designed structure offers spectacular views in a comfortable blend of modern but retro ambiance. Our server was very attentive throughout the meal starting with innovative cocktails. The tapenade appetizer was a great starter but each of main course entrees were deliciously presented and satisfying. I had the beef filet and it was perfectly cooked. We will definitely meet here again for our next business meeting in ATL.

My friends and I had reservations at 9:30pm to celebrate my friends 21st birthday. We were all excited since it was all our first time being there. Our server who was also the bartender came and got our order of drinks and everything was fine until it was almost 11pm and we still had not placed our order! The kitchen was starting to close and our server was not paying any attention to us. We finally went up to him after trying to waive him down for the past hour. He said no one told him that we were ordering food and looked at us like it was our fault. We finally get our order and of course he forgets to put in my order. I finally got my food after everyone was finished with theirs. By this time it was almost MIDNIGHT and I was real hangry. The food was over priced for everything that we got and the entire time we were complaining about the service and not being able to enjoy our time. It did not meet the expectations that this place advertises.

Rotating restaurant atop the Hyatt Regency. Amazing view of the sunset and fantastic food.I had the steak Rockefeller and it was perfectly prepared as well as beautifully presented.

At the top of the Hyatt regency Atlanta, the service was fantastic. Our server, Donovan, Did a great job explaining everything. We all love oysters, so the baked oysters were a top pick. We would order them again. We also had the cauliflower soup. It was really thin, but had great flavor. Out of all the entrees, don't get the pasta. Everything else was good.

This is such a fun experience, from the elevator ride up to the restaurant to the dinner and drinks. We celebrated our anniversary starting with some of the signature cocktails. The chef came to the table to tell us about the local cheeses so we ordered the cheese tasting. The blue cheese isn't as strong as most, but still good. The whipped was delicious on the date nut crackers. The tray included almonds, drunken mustard, local strawberries and honey. All of the cheeses were very good. We ordered the Steak Oscar (rare and very rare). The chef made sure that they were prepared correctly, but I think my husband got the very rare instead of me. The steaks were delicious over the bed of mashed potatoes. The crab meat and asparagus was very good as well. It does have onions in it which is not on the menu. The Polaris Blue Dome is the perfect dessert to end the evening. The honey is produced on site and gives the caramel a distinctive taste which is delicious. The display is also very unique. This is a wonderful place for dinner.

Met some friends here for an evening bite after a conference. The vibe was fantastic. Modern decor - which I LOVE - and stunning views of Atlanta. The service was fantastic considering the last minute attempt at gaining entry. The food was delicious. Overall, this is a wonderful place and I hope to visit again!

Being a revolving restaurant on top of the downtown Hyatt Regency Atlanta, I expected the attentive service, excellent food, good wine selection, great atmosphere and amazing views that we experienced but I was expecting that we would need to pay much more. While portions are smaller, starting with an appetizer then main course and finishing with their signature desert, the Polaris Blue Dome, a chocolate based desert incorporating honey from their “rescue” bees kept at a rooftop garden on one of the hotel’s towers, I left completely satisfied. Open Monday through Saturday from 5pm to midnight, unless closed for a private event, the restaurant is in high demand for good reason and relatively small so I would recommend making reservations a day or two in advance.

We decided to try Polaris because we were staying in the hotel and revolving restaurants are cool. While the food was expensive the chef's command of the ingredients was marvelous. Our waiter Michael was great and made excellent suggestions. Try the novel strawberry shortcake if you can manage to save room for desert.

The menu is not huge, but everything is executed perfectly! The presentation, the service, the ambiance, and the view are all perfect. Well worth it for an occasion.

I took my daughter here for a special evening and everything was perfect. The waitstaff was attentive but not bothersome and took special care of my 8 year old. He made he a special fancy drink and was a great conversationalist too! Food was excellent.

The restaraunt was very nice. The ambiance was fantastic. I understand that it is a Hyatt property, but I found the food menu rather lacking, especially for the prices charged. To be honest, I would not have chosen to dine there because of the cost benfit ratio...I was still hungry after a $28 meal. The highlight of the experience was meeting our waiter, Donovan. He was very cordial and knowledgeable on the sights of Atlanta. He was easy to talk to and made us feel as if we'd known him for years.

The food is some of the best I’ve had. I ate here years ago. I liked it but was a little unhappy at the smell of fish. I normally avoid hotel restaurants and rotating restaurants. But I came here because I saw the menu and wanted it bad. And it’s all redesigned inside, plus they’ve got some first class folk in the kitchen. I had foie gras, which I insist you have. It’s delicious and unusual, in a tart with homemade honey and an apple chutney that should match the foie gras bite for bite. Next was duck leg. Again, I insist. Most places have duck breast which for me is a chewy bore. Leg is unusual. It was coated with heavy skin. Might have been some bacon too, sorry I don’t know. On a cassoulet. Delicious. Two notes. First, they’re not always open. Check first. Second, as a solo I sat on a sofa with a cocktail table in front. Couples and more are at “normal” tables. Anyway, it was fine by me.

Our family had dinner for our daughter's graduation at Polaris and it was fabulous-food could challenge any Chopped Chef easily and we all are foodies-beautiful restaurant, beautiful atmosphere, beautiful hotel-beautiful time! Thanks for a lovely evening.

The restaurant is very, very nice but extremely overpriced. The portions are fairly small, but the prices are not! The views from the restaurant are very nice...when you can see anything else but a nearby tall building blocking your view. This must have been an amazing place offering spectacular views before the other tall buildings were built up around it. I'd say the restaurant on top of the Westin right nearby has a much more spectacular view as it is much, much higher.

I visited for a ladies night out. The menu is very limited but the food was good. The views were amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the sea bass and it was perfectly cooked and the drinks are good. The portions are small..

What a great restaurant! The food was really excellent. The dessert was really special, the blue chocolate dome. Generous portions and lovely setting. Our serve Malik was exceptional!

The Polaris restaurant offers very good food and drink with a great view. One of the best places to go if you want a relaxing dinner while taking in the views of Downtown Atlanta.

We went here to eat and experience the rotating restaurant. The menu is limited and the prices are high. The food is average. The experience was great. Drinks and appetizers only next time.

We decided to go to Polaris just for drinks and were not disappointed, great vibe, setting and ambience with spectacular views, friendly bar staff with nice background music. We did intend to go back on our last night but apparently Thursday is the start of the weekend and there was a long wait. Would definitely recommend.

Went there for Christmas Eve dinner at our waitress was the ruddess you could ever have totally not accommodating. Our group would never go back. When we ordered food it was delayed, not prepared to the right specifications

Long dormant, Polaris was reactivated several years ago and I’ve nostalgically been wanting to dine there ever since. I remember well when architect/developer John Portman’s visionary Atlanta Hyatt Regency Hotel—the first with an indoor atrium and light-trimmed, glass-faced, outside-indoor elevators shooting up that atrium—opened in 1967. All Atlanta, including 23-year-old me, traipsed downtown to sightsee this marvelous new concept with its soaring wire sculpture, suspended cocktail lounge, and cacophonous aviary (the latter two long gone and today’s lobby, sadly, a cavernous, nondescript holding area more akin to an impersonal train station). In 1983, my husband and I stayed at the hotel on our April 2nd wedding night. This year, we entertained thoughts of again reserving a room, but all 1,260 were booked. An evening at its iconic restaurant turned out to be even better. We went the night before the actual date, as Polaris is closed Sundays, and made our reservation for 7 p.m. to get ensconced in time to enjoy the setting sun. The experience is celebratory. The surroundings are sleek, incongruously interspersed with shelves of books, with a number of differently styled and configured seating groups, and a small bar. The menu is abbreviated (and changes regularly) but features such interesting entrées as rabbit and duck breast, along with a pasta and vegetarian choice. The wine list is just long enough, with a good variety, and with sparklers outnumbering cabernets and chardonnays—reflecting, I suspect, said celebratory nature of most evenings here. Our server was attentive and professional (thank you Katherine). The prices are in the higher range but you are paying for the magical view, although it has altered over the years. Polaris sits atop what was originally one of Atlanta’s tallest buildings and boasted a virtually unobstructed 360-degree vista. Today it’s hemmed in by taller edifices with a peek now and then at distant Stone and Kennesaw mountains. Several have a mirrored exterior, the better to reflect the glowing, neon-blue dome of the “spaceship” in which you are slowly rotating. Best of all, the food is really good, much better than I expected it to be. We began with a rye scofflaw and a rum gimlet, both $11 and change, about average nowadays (indeed, a bit cheaper) for cocktails even at ground level. We shared an appetizer of oysters Polaris ($15), four small rounds of toasted brioche, each topped with a lightly fried oyster and a dollop of cabbage in remoulade sauce. Imaginative, and excellent. For the money, there could have been a few more bites. I splurged on the steak Oscar ($34), about six ounces of tender, juicy filet, artisanally sourced, of course, and presented on a slab of gray slate rimmed with blond wood. The accompanying Béarnaise sauce, contained in a minute copper sauce pan, was almost superfluous as the meat had a lovely glazed topping. The mix of good-sized and plentiful pieces of sautéed crab and asparagus tips also was served in a copper pot. My husband’s pan-seared, steelhead trout ($28), served on a round gray slate plate, was a generous portion, and cooked to his specification (a tad more done than the medium rare suggested). It came with sweet corn puree, red-wine-braised baby onion, trout roe, and sugar snap peas. Our glasses of wine were a reasonable $9 for the house label Napa cabernet and $12 for a New Zealand sauvignon blanc. Ours was, indeed, a memorable night, with a perfect meal, in a perfect place. Notes: I left a telephone message requesting a reservation (a must) and, expecting a call back, did not ask specifically for a window-side table. I instead received an email confirmation, and let it go. Fortunately, I had mentioned it was our anniversary and perhaps that’s why we were seated at a two-top right next to the wall of glass, while other couples had to settle for tables farther away. So, make a point to specify a particular spot. Anyone needing a handicapped restroom, or who can’t climb steps, should make a stop in the lobby before taking the dedicated elevator to the Polaris. Restrooms aloft require flights of very steep steps. Thankfully there’s a handrail. When arriving at the hotel, whose motor lobby can be zoo-like due to the property’s convention orientation, mention that you have reservations at the Polaris and you will be waved past the cordon and to valet parking (where the elderly staffer was not the least bit accommodating or interested in helping me out). Validate your ticket at the restaurant for free parking and reclaim your car in the basement garage.

Luckily we ate at the Optimist before heading here for skyline drinks... we were staying in this hotel and decided to check it out. Could not have had a worse experience. The bartender was extremely snobby and ignored us. They weren’t busy at all, he just ignored us.

Great restaurant. Beautiful view of Atlanta downtown. The Food is very good. Perfectly prepared and presented dishes with very distinct and delicate flavour. My wife had the steak Oscar presented on a bed of designed mash potatoes with a casserole of fresh veggies. I had the duck and it was cooked and seasoned exactly to My expectations. Now the dessert was sublime. Delicate full of flavors and outstanding design. If you go, ask for Corbin to take care of your table. Very knowledgeable waiter. Highly recommend that place.

I was super excited to eat here and made a reservation far in advance. Unfortunately, the weekend I traveled to ATL was the same weekend as a convention, that was being held at the same hotel as this restaurant. That made the experience even worse. Everyone was extremely rude, from parking to trying to find the restaurant. The elevators were backed up with people from the convention, nobody actually going to the restaurant. After about 30 mins we finally found our way to the restaurant and were seated, to get a completely different menu than what is on their website, the actual menu only has a few items! The waiter was pleasant but we ended up leaving and going to Morton's down the street ,the experience was nothing like what we hoped for. The bare minimum for a satisfactory experience would have been the food, but that the options were incredibly limited, we ended up leaving.

Our Server was Sue, she was fantastic, explained the menu and the drinks so I could find something suitable for me.. Food was Good . I had the steak and my friends had the fish.. my steak was a little salty, my friends enjoyed there fish which was lacking sides.. Antoinette came over also she was a delight.

If the view of the city rotating in the evening isn’t enough, the food here is simply amazing! We sat at the bar and were engaged in such pleasant conversation with JT, who was charismatic and enthralling. The drinks and food were 5 star quality. This alone made our trip to Atlanta worthwhile. A truly memorable experience.

Not a huge selection but food was excellent. Steak was so tender and flavor was amazing. Don't forget to order the bread, love the rosemary. The blue dome chocolate dessert was the best ever!

Loved the revolving restaurant. Nice view of Georgia. Food was very good and portion sizes were just right

I took my wife and my niece to Polaris for not only a wonderful dinner, but an excellent experience overall. We arrived a little early for our reservation, so the three of us walked around the lobby and looked at some of the art exhibits downstairs in the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. We then took an exciting glass elevator ride to Polaris, where we were greeted and shown to our table by the maitre'd. Of course, the night views of the city are amazing. We started our meal with the excellent charcuterie board with honey from their own hives on the roof. There was a varied selection of meats and cheeses--or favorites were the breseola and blue cheese, along with the strawberry jam, which was just as good as the honey. We also tried the escargot appetizer, which was rich and creamy with an earthy taste that made us want more. For our entrees, I had Steak Oscar, served with potato puree and asparagus with lump crab meat. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying bone marrow sauce tied everything together. My wife selected the oxtails dish with rutabagas. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the natural sweetness of the rutabagas was a tasty counterpoint to the savory oxtail. Our little niece wanted fish, and chose the steelhead trout dish. The meat was perfectly cooked and juicy--that she finished it before I could get a sample shows how much she liked it. The three of us shared two desserts. First, we tried the Blue Dome, a flourless chocolate torte with chocolate ice cream. The second dessert was an apple tasting confection with different expressions of Georgia apples. Both were delectable. All in all, we had an excellent meal made even better by the breathtaking views and the friendly and attentive staff. We will certainly be returning.

Classy atmosphere, service was friendly but slow, food ultimately disappointing, especially the fillet which was not tender and rather fat.

I've dined in rotating restaurants before, and thought they were pretty old school. Polaris is nicely done, decorated to fit the architecture and design. I was very impressed that restaurant has a roof top garden, and bees! You see the them on one of the lower towers. I enjoyed the trout, and just had to try the chocolate dome dessert, with the caramel and honey filling (honey from the bee hive).

An elegant and nice restaurant with a great 360* view! The food was great; delicious and stylish flavors! The personnel was welcoming, polite and non-stop careful with my needs!

Hidden gem inside Hyatt Regency, the only rotating restaurant in Atlanta w good view. It is a beautiful restaurant w interesting layout around the themes of living room, library, dining room and open rotating kitchen. Small menu but top food. The portion is not big but offering not too over the top place to have a very enjoyable dinner or lunch.

We ate in the library section which is a quieter place in the revolving restaurant Service was outstanding and the food is outstanding but small portions and pricey but you are paying for atmosphere. It is nice to watch the chefs plate up the food as you revolve past the chef station They have a very exotic drink menu which all look interesting Martini was made exactly as requested Reservations are difficult as this is a small revolving restaurant Do not expect a great view as you are surrounded by buildings that you get views as gaps come between buildings Note do not rely on menu on line as it changes

What a great experience! Took some of my customers here for a dinner while they are in town. The we started with the Georgia charcuterie platter and cocktails were great. They were not watered down either :). Limited menu but the options we had were amazing. That was by far finest steak I had ever had. It was literally melt in your mouth good. Our server was great and didn't rush us out, it was a Thursday night so not crazy busy. One thing I liked is it was quiet and you didn't have to struggle to have conversation. If you are in the area go! From a value perspective it wasn't much more to eat here than the breakfast buffet at the Marriott next door.

Three generations of my family met in Atlanta and chose Polaris to celebrate — and it was everything we hoped for. This historic restaurant still captures the magic of classic hospitality, complete with stunning rotating skyline views. Antoinette was outstanding — warm, attentive, and spot-on with her recommendations based on our preferences. Every course was excellent, and you’ll definitely want to save room for dessert! We were treated to a spectacular sunset as the room slowly turned, giving us a panoramic view of the city while we enjoyed our meal. A truly memorable experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

When my sister wanted to celebrate her birthday here I was doubtful as most large chain hotels are not known for the quality of its food; however this rotating restaurant atop the Hyatt Regency is a wonderful exception. For starters, the rotating view is wonderful and the service by Daniel was superb. And then the food: extraordinary multigrain bread and Korean Buns with a sweet and spicy sauce. The desert was very good. This is one of the finest meals I have ever had in Atlanta and the wonderful service and views made it perfect!

Chef Jennifer and her staff did an incredible job. Starting with the charcuterie board and the freshest and tastiest prosciutto ever, then awesome oysters Polaris, followed by delicious breads and crispy goat cheese salad , then the most incredible tuna sushi ever! The mains -- steak oscar, ricotta pasta caramelle, and pan seared steelhead trout were all delicious -- but I'd squeeze in the duck next time! Chef Jennifer Yoo is outstanding!

A great location and ambiance for a wonderful evening of conversation over food. Worth the wait as we did not have reservations. I can't remember having this level of quality service as provide by the Polaris team. The views in the restaurant are just as great as out the window.

Our recent and first visit to Polaris was memorable. The atmosphere is wonderful. The setting was intimate and accompanied by an excellent, rotating city view. The service was prompt, courteous, and attentive. The appetizers were very tasty as were the entrees. However the Duck Leg Confit was on the small side, portion wise. The Blue Dome desert was a feast for the eyes in terms of presentation. But honestly was, as my wife describes it, “minuscule.” The cake was about 1/4 of a cup and the sorbet was approximately 1 tablespoon or perhaps slightly more (but not much). That part of the experience was disappointing. We enjoyed our time there and would visit again. Especially if they enlarge the portions. ;-)

Took a group of 7 people here and we were all delighted. Gary, our waiter, was excellent, very prompt and friendly. Food was delicious (table had steak, salmon, scallops and pasta). Presentation of food was impressive. View terrific and ambiance pleasant (not too loud). One small complaint...the manager did not look happy to be at his job, frowning at employees, didn't check in with our table. His demeanor didn't affect our experience but I felt badly for employees.

We cannot say enough about this EXPERIENCE! We came for cocktails & charcuterie, but couldn't leave without dessert & duck breast! Our kids LOVED IT! Get the Bee's Knees cocktail!! I had 2 bc......life!

This place is amazing. The atmosphere and decor are top notch. The food was visually stunning and the taste matched. It's the best meal I've had in awhile.

Was visiting Atlanta for a conference and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Had to check out Polaris and I'm glad I did! At first, I did feel a little strange as you can tell, ever so slightly, that the restaurant is moving. It was fine after a minute or two, but at first, I did notice it. I decided just to have a drink and walk around the small, but strangely spacious feeling restaurant. It's really lovely, with beautiful sites of Atlanta, and a modern décor and style. Definitely worth a stop by even if only to have a drink and catch the views.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency for 4 nights for a convention. On our last night we decided to venture to the roof top for a drink. We ordered one drink and were totally ignored for the rest of the night. The bar tender was attentive to both parties on either side of us but it was like we were invisible. He was arrogant and rude. The view was amazing and it is sad that such a lovely place could be spoiled by one person.

Ended our vacation in Georgia/NC with dinner at Polaris . Celebrating hubby’s 50th birthday! Service was great, food/wine was exquisite and the view from our table was beautiful. Staff ended our dinner experience with a birthday dessert- very thoughtful! If I ever go back to Atlanta would definitely come for my steak fix! For someone’s who is not crazy about steak this was by far the best... for some reason not sure why lol I was craving steak and I’m glad I was!

Food was delicious and views were great. I was trying to choose between this restaurant and other skyscrapers that overlooked the city. Definitely chose the right one. Will come back

You're paying for the view, really, but the food is delicious and the peach daiquiri is good. Dress up and make sure you have a reservation!

Visited with a co-worker while staying in Hyatt Regency. Our server was very nice, but at the end of our meal we were asked to move because they needed our table. Restaurant rotates so that is cool, but it's pretty small. Co-worker is dairy free, but they had a hard time accommodating this common dietary restriction. Food was good, but selections were limited. For price would not go back again. Mixed drinks were better at the bar in Sway restaurant downstairs.

Stopped by late night after a horrendous dinner at a nearby restaurant. Sat at the bar for a night cap. The bartender was very busy but accommodating. Ordered a mojito after seeing him make one for another customer. The cocktail was perfect. We ordered the bacon popcorn to snack on. It was terrific. You could not only taste the bacon but it appears the popcorn was popped in bacon fat rather than vegetable oil because of the intense flavor. My only negative was the portion was quite small. We had to order another serving. Great place to view Atlanta by night and unwind after a long day.

Great food, ambience and service. My waiter Antoinette was knowledgeable, courteous and very friendly

We stopped by the restaurant after a day at the Jazz Festival. It was a great way to end the evening! The atmosphere is great! The food is good! The prices are reasonable. You are greeted with professionalism as soon as you get off the elevator. The ride to the top is great!! The revolving floor adds to the pleasantness of dining there. We were seated in a great spot with an excellent view of Atlanta! Our reservation was for 8:15 pm so we still had time to enjoy some light before darkness fell on the city. We dined there on a Saturday evening. We had a reservation. I did see them turn people that did not have one away. So if you want to be sure to get in be sure to make a reservation.

This rotating restaurant is situated at the top of the Atlanta Hyatt and offers a lovely dinning experience. As the dinning room rotates around the center of the room you are provided with a 360 view of Atlanta. The food was excellent but as with fine dining the portions are small. I had the lamb and then steak to appease my hungry and both were expertly prepared and tremendously tasty. Valet does take a bit of time 15+ minutes after presenting the ticket. But this is tied to the hotel and not the restaurant. Sorry no pictures of our meals as the food somehow disappeared from my plate.

THis is an icon in the Atlanta skyline. The atmosphere is amazing. THe view was awesome. Maple bacon popcorn was my favorite. Food was a bit pricy for the amount. My husband's $38 steak was the size of a small deck of cards.

This people are a mafia, they tried to overcharge us twice, and she did the same with the table just besides us. They forced us to pay 18% tip (Ridiculous hotel policy, they said we had to pay it no matter the quality if the service) The waitress who served a party if 6 adults and one child, Fernandez Party, reservation at 8:30 pm, left us without service, she tried to force us to a bottle if wine we did not order, the wine we did order was out of stock twice-food took over an hour, the meat was very good, the duck was dry and not worth, the rest if the food just ok. I hope the manager of the Hyatt Atlanta reads this review and has the decency to reimburse us and apologize for the abuse.

This is a revolving restaurant on the 22nd floor of the Hyatt regency hotel in downtown atlanta giving you 360 degree views of city landmarks. From the staffed escort at the elevator to the high quality food this was a wonderful way to spend the evening with colleagues. Table service is attentive and there were also private bars set up for the occasion.

Great space. Revolving rooftop bar/restaurant. We only had drinks, and appetizers, but it was a super place to sit and relax after a day int he city! Kudos to David!

Polaris at the Hyatt Regency was truly amazing. We had the bread service, pork belly, and island clams to start, and all were excellent. For entrées, my daughter enjoyed the sea scallops, and the Wagyu Oscar steak was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The mixed drinks were outstanding. The service was impeccable—Antoinette was attentive and professional. The décor is beautiful, the location is great, and valet parking is available (be sure to get your ticket stamped). No military discount, unfortunately, but overall it was a great experience, and I would definitely go back.

Vibe: semi casual, dim light, vintage vibe. Almost feels like you’re at home. View: all seating has an amazing view. The restaurant slowly rotates allowing you to see downtown Atlanta. As you’re rotating you get to see the main lobby and even get to watch the chefs prepare your food. Food: seasonal menu. Smaller portions and took quite a bit to arrive to our table but definitely worth it. Staff: extremely knowledgeable server (Robert) and had the manager come and check on us as well. I’ve literally called all of my family members and friends and told them they HAVE to check this place out.

We came to Atlanta and stayed at Hyatt Regency for the sole purpose to eat here for a special occasion. My Husband made the reservation for 7pm when he booked our room. We get here, get all dressed up, only to be told at the restaurant that they "dont have" our reservation, nor do they have any tables available. Very very disappointed in the lack of communication.

Honestly the food was good, but the dining experience was fabulous. The Georgia cheese plate appetizer was outstanding, the quail, good, the vegetable paella I would never order again. The views and overall atmosphere of this restaurant are awesome. The waiter was fabulous and encouraged us to take our time and enjoy everything. While there are taller buildings, this olds but goody is worth the trip.

The view was to die for and the food oh my gosh! I had the Stake Oscar, didn't even need a knife to cut it. Service was very good too. Great experience!

I had the best meal of my life! The service was superb and between all of us we just about tried everything on the menu. Very well done seating area and views and fun place to be.

Our first day in Atlanta ended with dinner at the Polaris Restaurant! I had researched restaurants and wanted something different yet special. So I picked Polaris based on the great Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed! What a lovely evening we had! The restaurant is different because it sits 22 stories atop the Hyatt Regency and it rotates.. what a fabulous nighttime view! But what made the evening extra special was our excellent waiter Gary. He was attentive, recommended our meals which were excellent and was so pleasant and helpful and fun! He even was a great photographer as he took time to take pictures of our family! Thanks Gary for making our first evening in Atlanta extra special! I would highly recommend Polaris & Gary! By the way, the food was great!

My group of 6 went for the first time for my Birthday a few nights ago with an 8pm reservation and we didn't get seated until 8:40pm. They gave us bread and an appetizer while we waited, but no one came to give us updates on what was going on. Two in my party ordered lamp chops and then we were informed that they only had one plate left, seriously Polaris you are running out of food! So they ordered fish instead. I couldn't wait to get into this beautiful building, but I will never be back. I have never had such an unprofessional experience at any restaurant especially one with high prices for tiny pieces of food. I ordered a beet salad and it was barely enough on my plate for 5 forks full. Sadly disappointed. I will not come back. Happy Birthday to me!

Excellent food, view, service and atmosphere, definitively the place to be at. It doesn't matter where you sit, the view it is amazing and you would want to go back.

We came in for a drink and appetizers. Lovely view and the food was well presented. The Bulgogi Mushroom Bao Buns were yummy, outranking the Southern Short Rib which was tough. Yet they made it right by taking it off our ticket. Great service! Worth another visit.

We went for appetizers and a snack. I had fond memories of my mom taking me here back in the 80's. The renovations and artwork are amazing. The service was A plus as well. I thought the other buildings would block the view but it actually makes it better. Really chill place to relax. I would put on the must see list for Atlanta.

On our first night in Atlanta my husband and I got a great overview of the city by rotating around in Polaris. Steak Oscar was great and presented the best way I've ever had. Steak well cooked, bernaise in small copper pot, asparagus and lots of crabmeat in another separate vessel. Husband had duck and loved it. Cheese plate shareable was very and creative. Only surprise was small wine list without too many by-the-glass

Polaris is not just a dining establishment, it's an experience. From the minute you step foot on the elevator, fantastic views abound, and the restaurant's rotating floor gives you a panaramic view of Downtown. Many of the surrounding buildings are taller than the Hyatt Regency, so Polaris' view is not really a skyline view (for that go to Sun Dial), but it's more an 'amongst the towers' view, nestled between the surrounding taller buildings. However, the view is still breathtaking, and provides a unique view of the city. Polaris is more than a view, though. The menu, while limited, consists of fine dining food items with wonderful, memorable flavor. The portions are on the small side, but that's to be expected with restaurants of this kind. The wait staff were kind and helpful, and give great suggestions. Suffice to say I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Polaris and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for an upscale dining experience in Downtown Atlanta.

If you're hungry, you have come to the wrong place. I'm not even a big eater but for over $100, myself and my lady walked out of there hungry. The meal that we both had could've fit in the palm of our hands. No exaggeration. This place is basically an overpriced tapas bar. The ambiance is great. The spinning restaurant is relaxing against the night sky. But if you come here, come only for drinks as I saw many people do. This is not a place for food. What we ate was good but a small child would've left there complaining about hunger. I enjoyed the experience but I wish I was warned that I should've eaten before I left home.

I was included in a short family vacay (some babysitting was involved) while I was being enticed to join “Thd Walking Dead” viewing bandwagon. (I was the only adult of 5 not involved). We toured much of the Atlanta area where filming is/was used for filming! One night we ventured above the Atlanta skyline for dinner at this FANTASTIC spot! Food & service was remarkable!!!! It is somewhat expensive for my ChickFilA budget but well with the experience!!! I look forward to another Atlanta family field trip when I binge watch Stranger Things & hope a Polaris trip will be included! I’ll start saving NOW!

This restaurant has the cool factor as it does a slow revolution showing the entire city (though taller videos do impede some of the skyline). We loved the elevation ride up to the top (if you are afraid of heights, watch the door)! The food was excellent! The rosemary bread was divine. The colossal shrimp was a tiny bit more cooked than I would have liked. The dessest was fantastic! Oh and the Pear-Fecto was the best classiest drink I have ever had! Loved the entire experience.

Spectacular view of Atlanta city, great costumer service and hospitality, the food was very tasted and excellent presentation. The waiter was very kind at giving us touristic información about the area , also while proving desert on his own

Went here for a drink and appetizer and to see what it was all about since we had never been to a rotating restaurant before. It was such a fun experience and gave such an amazing view of the city. I had a peach daquari, which I would have again in a heart beat. I don't recall what our app was, but it was SO delicious.

Offering a romantic and trendy 360’ view of the city, this was both my first time to Atlanta and Polaris. It was a relaxing place to to sit down and enjoy a drink and an appetizer at the bar/ lounge area. It takes approximately an hour to complete the 360’ view. With that being said, luckily it wasn’t full because reservations are highly encouraged even for the bar area. The isn’t much of an selection from the bar menu, drinks are also limited, and both are pricey.

My wife hosted a small private event here (about 20 people) with drinks and appetizers, and despite the open plan of the restaurant it worked very well. The service was excellent, the food was superb, and the changing view created many opportunities for conversation in a group of people that didn't know each other well. Expensive but worth it.

We had a great steak and signature drinks and were treated to free desert for our anniversary celebration. The views are unstoppable.

Went here with some girlfriends. Great ambiance with a minimal noise level. An elegant place to have a conversation and actually be heard and able to hear others. Great service and drinks. Gary was great. Only downfall was there was a conference in town, so valet was full. Driving around to pay overpriced parking wasn't idea, but no fault of the restaurant. Would return.

The view of downtown Atlanta from Polaris is Beautiful! And my server Aerion was Attentive & Amazing!! It was a pleasure also meeting J.T. , Robert & Brian!!

Enjoyed our time with our family. We've been to the Sundial, but the Polaris has a much more intimate and elegant vibe. Smaller, but very cool.

Super evening at the Polaris; fantastic food and service; have been coming here for years and it was great to return and see their new menu and very well trained staff.

We came with two children, and while they loved the view, they were not interested in any of the food until dessert came. The small menu offered nothing that appealed to them, not even the bread and butter, which is usually a favorite. Consequently, they were ravenous when the desserts arrived. The adult entrees were all very tasty and nicely plated. I know this restaurant prides itself on its cocktails, but really, NO ice tea? They said they could send downstairs for some, but it didn't happen. We would have definitely enjoyed this more without the children.

I visited here for some evening drinks at the bar and didn’t get a chance to sample the food, despite it looking amazing! The drink prices are fairly reasonable considering the unique setting and there’s a wide variety of drinks on offer. It takes just over an hour to complete a full rotation when revolving although don’t expect to get a full perspective of the city - lots of angles are blocked by the adjacent high rises. Saying that though, the sunset is impressive and certainly the best time to go. For something a bit different in the city I’d recommend, and I’d happily return.

Great food and nice bar. Price was not high as I expected. The place rotates very slowly, so even though I get motion sickness easily, I did not have any problem at all. Staffs were very friendly. Great view.

Stopped by one evening for cocktails after dinner. Lovely spot for drinks with colleagues/friends. Nice ambience, decor and good service. the views were wonderful. Make a reservation if you can.

We had a great dinner and enjoyed the great view. Chef Andrea Pung did a fantastic job with food and presentation, adding an generous amount of umami to fine dining.

Very good food! I had the lamb with bok choy. My son had the filet. Food and atmosphere were great. Restaruant spins very slowly, about one turn per hour. So I dudnt get dizzy. Yeah!

Nice retro revolutionary bar/restaurant atop the hotel. The first Atrium Hotel with revolving bar that opened in 1967. Great craft cocktails and appetizers. One revolutionary every 45 minutes keeps things moving. Worth a visit. Staff was very nice.

The Atlanta Hyatt Regency is one of Atlanta’s real treasure that helped put the city on the tourism map along with the Westin Peachtree Plaza both designed by Architect John C Portman. The Hyatt Polaris resturant is one of those rare jems. With the revolving bar and dining area along with some of the best Chefs in the state and a very unique dining experience. The food and service are second to none ! Be it a special occasion or business, it is a marvelous dining experience !

Valet parking is free when you dine at Polaris. You have to get your ticket validated by the host/hostess. Thanks to the reviews, I was aware of this but the valet guy did let us know. The hotel is beautiful! When we first arrived, we were told we couldn’t go up until it was the exact time of the reservation. The hotel lobby had plenty of seating and a huge bar in case you need to sit around. When we got to the top, there were expecting us. They have great control over the crowd(to the point where there is no crowd). Very smooth process. My two complaints, the waitress had no enthusiasm throughout the entire evening(very disappointing for such a great restaurant and it was my birthday) and of course the food portions( however, still not a bad deal). The views were amazing. I was a little disappointed that the sun was setting behind a building but that’s not the restaurants fault so I had no choice but to overlook this. The dinner was delicious! We both had the steak Oscar! Yummmyy!!!!! The overall ambiance was amazing! I loved how we rotated and passed the opened kitchen( very cool)! I had the chocolate(3 types) dessert...lots of chocolate. The restrooms were immaculate and beautiful! Overall I had a wonderful birthday dinner with my husband while visiting Atlanta! Thank you!

Ask for Miles & Sean!!! The Polaris is amazing and the food is so good, but nothing tops off your night like the wonderful service and being treated like family by the ladies and gentlemen who you interact with at the Polaris.

Loved the ambiance! We went up for night caps- the drinks were wonderful and the meat and cheese plate was very good!

We went to this restaurant for the revolving views bar t it broke down before we got there. The staff said it was being fixed but that didn’t happen while we were there. The staff was awesome and the food just ok. I won’t be going back.

We were early and wanted drinks prior to our table being ready which seems to be something you can't do here without some difficulty. When we arrived early we were told to come back at our designated time and then we could go up for a drink. On the other hand, we saw some people just walk through and on to the elevator so I'm not sure. Dinner turned out to be fantastic. Everything was excellent and delicious. I chose the vegetarian option which was awesome. Others had the Steak Oscar and pasta dishes which they loved. Service was spot on. Cocktails were wonderful.

This is a revolving restaurant, so the must-see views of downtown Atlanta were excellent. We went in the evening, so got a chance to see a beautiful sunset. The staff is great, from the servers to the bartenders. The open kitchen is a nice added touch, as are the lounge-type couches for a more comfortable environment.

Wow, what a view, and views and views! The revolving bar and restaurant is a great place to have a cocktail before or after dinner or have dinner, relaxing lounge chairs, bar overlooking the city of Atlanta!

Very nice, clean, & caters to people with food allergies. You can actually see food as it's being prepared as the restaurant slowly turns to for you to view the city. The food was excellent (forgot to snap a pic it looked so good) & desserts were incredible (Polaris Blue Dome & Strawberry Shortcake).

The restaurant is dated. It is overpriced for the food quality and the staff was stiff and seemed like they would rather not be working. Be prepared for young children they are allowed. Beware of the floor it has bumps due to the fact that the room spins. The menu had good choices and sounds good on paper. But, it lacked luster. My $98 Wagyu steak was not rendered of its fat. The plating was unattractive. I should have stopped with the Mitake appetizer. It was very good. And, priced well at around $18. I expected more from the Polaris.

My husband and I really enjoyed Polaris. A few things you need to know. The plates are pricey but delicious. I enjoyed the steak dinner The are also small so if you want a big meal this is not the place for that. The servers were kind and the views of the city are incredible. The cocktails are creative and refreshing. Remember to make a reservation prior or ask for the lounge area. Don't forget to validate your parking before you leave Polaris or you will have to go all the way up there again to get it validated. The best time to go is before sunset because you get the day and night view of the city.

OMG. Great meal. Chef Andrea Pang is one of the best. The food was crazy good. The duck breast was amazing and went with the dirty rice and veggies perfectly. The steak was so tender and cook to perfection. The atmosphere and service by Natalia was first class. I told chef Andrea her food is so good it’s leaves you wanting more. And I wish I could have had more. Anytime you are in Atlanta this is a place you should come for an amazing meal and a wonderful experience. Oh and I forgot the view is amazing. Thanks for a memorable night.

My coworkers and I went to this restaurant to enjoy a nice view of the skyline... we were not disappointed! The building slowly rotates so you can see the entire city while enjoying you evening. The atmosphere is very classy but we sat in the bar/lounge area which was a bit more laid back. The service was amazing and the food and drinks were delicious. I had the steak Oscar which you could cut with a fork and accompanied by a side of crab and asparagus. I would definitely go back!

My sister and I had a great experience at the Polaris. Our server Michael made excellent recommendations and treated us royally. We were especially interested in the Hyatt's rooftop apiary, and Michael pointed out the bees hangout when the Polaris rotated in their direction. My sister enjoyed a Bees Knees cocktail which was sweetened with some of the hotel's honey. Our sea bass and scallops entrees were delicious. We capped off the dinner with the Polaris Blue Dome, a yummy concoction of chocolate in at least three different forms along with caramel and a touch of that rooftop honey.

Went up to Polaris while staying at the Hyatt and found it to be an interesting, upscale restaurant/bar. Only had a drink with friends, and while pricey, I am sure the cuisine is fantastic.

Try the dessert you will not be sorry. Service is excellent. The view is to good to be true. Neat riding to the top of the elevator

The atmosphere is pretty romantic. It feels like home above the towers. The view is exceptional. Ask to sit next to the windows to better enjoy it. The room spins but not aggressively so. You notice it, but it's more like a soothing rock than a jolt. In my opinion it's not fast enough to be annoying. For reference, we ordered dinner with appetizer and finished it all before one full rotation. That did not include dessert though. The servers were extremely nice and helpful. Knowledgeable of the products and not overly pushy. The Duck Confit wasn't all that amazing to me. It was my first duck however. It wasn't at all bad either. The crust was crispy, and duck fell nicely off the bone. The greens were cooked well and the mash was lite. It all went well together. The major star of the evening (besides the view and spinning room) was the Blue Dome dessert. It was amazing. It's a blue chocolate shell covering a chocolate mousse cake filled with creamy caramel. Best. Dessert. Ever. The price was pretty steep but dare I say, you expect that. Two meals and dessert at around $100. All in all, I enjoyed the evening for my anniversary. A special occasion works well. A daily thing, it was not. Bring your special one and enjoy yourself.

We were staying at the Marriott Marquis across the street from the iconic Polaris restaurant in Atlanta. Both are part of a remarkable cluster of connected buildings in Peachtree Place, designed by famed Atlanta architect, John Portman. The Polaris is one of the most visible and identifiable landmarks of downtown Atlanta-- the big blue globe sits 25 stories above Peachtree Street like a giant UFO. And it rotates! Recently re-opened after renovation, Polaris is a fabulous retro homage to 1967, when it first opened-- all very swanky and sophisticated. It's magical. The menu is limited, but absolutely exquisite, based on fresh, seasonal ingredients under a master chef. It was delicious. I hope I can describe this so you can imagine the experience of sitting at your table with a huge expanse of window and Atlanta skyline in front of you, passing before you as the restaurant slowly rotates... At the same time, the scene behind you changes as well, because the only thing moving is you, the outer ring of seating. So, behind you, the setting changes from the lounge area you entered to the well-appointed, stunning kitchen, where you see the chef and crew at work. It's like a retro ride at Disneyworld-- the Carousel of Progress, do you remember? It's not cheap ($150 for two-- drinks, entrees and dessert), but the incredible food and experience are well worth it!

My friend & I wanted a cocktail & small bites before Theater. Wonderful view of Atlanta...outstanding service...we enjoyed our brief time there. The rotating restaurant was most interesting.

I'd considered this location during several earlier visits to Atlanta, and decided that it was time to finally just make it happen. I was staying literally right across the street at Marriott Marquis, and had easy access to this Hyatt via the sky bridge, so no excuse to skip the opportunity. My experience was only at the bar having a delicious beverage and signature appetizer. Previous reviews I've read referenced a small bar with overworked service. I can certainly see that being a potential challenge, but it was (thankfully) no real problem for my visit. Very clean restaurant and bar. It is pretty easy to recommend this experience to others, and hopefully their timing of arrival will offer the same level (or even better) of service. I did enjoy but, for me, it was probably a One And Done visit unless I happen to be staying in this hotel, or across the street, again.
Disappointed
Sadly, the Sun Dial Restaurant was closed so I picked another place. My friends from California were in town for the weekend. We couldn't get a dinner reservations but I wanted them to see the famous Polaris. So, we made a reservation for drinks at 9:30pm. (I work across the street; I was excited for my first visit as well...) The unfriendly waitress took our drink order. We ordered three Polaris Peach Daiquiri's. She came back to the table to tell us the blender was broke. Really!? We ordered something else and never saw her again until we asked someone to find her to get our check.... It would have been nice to have a little conversation (personality) from the server - show a little southern hospitality. Something...
