Great place to pick up fast food that feels like home cooking! Must try the guava cheesecake it is to die for

I arrived in the Miami area late and was hangry - not just hungry, I went to this location and had actually been there before . Since it was so late I was surprised to see food, chicken and other items, stacked very high or ... a lot spread out up on a warmer. I ordered carry out I got a half chicken with rice, beans and corn. I walked back to my hotel ( Hilton) about a half block away. Upon arriving at my room, I noticed that he chicken was still VERY warm... close to hot. And not dried out , as I ordered white meat. The corn was bland , the rice was good but the beans didn’t have much taste either. In fairness- they were black beans and that’s how they were supposed to taste i guess. Their sauces are always a treat for me. I love this place - especially the Miami location - all locations do not serve ribs. Dr. Mac Clarksville TN

First time eating at Pollo Tropical, good value. Enjoyed the food. Service could be better. Bit disappointed as two of our meals had one side missing and we didn't notice until we got back to the hotel.

This is a simple take-out or eat-in restaurant with fabulous chicken and a great salsa bar. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable. There are some tables and chairs outside to enjoy your meal on a nice day.

The chicken was excellent but the rice was hard as if it had been sitting for awhile. The other sides were tasty and the service was fast. A huge lunchtime crowd gathers so try to get there around 11am.

Excellent grilled chicken cooked to perfection. A great way to quell the hunger pangs when arriving late at the Hotel. Service quick and very efficient. Just adjacent from the Hampton Hotel.

Cheap meals with great taste and a considerably low price for a home cooked dinner.Great service nice staff and awesome sauces.Recommend this place 100% for everyone on a budget.

They have some of the best grilled chicken. I love the rice and beans to. I enjoy getting the different sauces to dip but my favorite is the cilantro sauce and guava barbecue sauce.

Delicious latin food with lots of choices. Grilled chicken, rice & beans, salads are delicious. Service was very efficient - especially given the number of people who kept coming in to order. Clean dining area. Within walking distance of Hampton Inn -Blue Lagoon, where we stayed.

For fast food it is very good and reasonably priced. The food is good and mostly healthy compared to other fast food places.

We'd never heard of this chain before, but we decided to try it after looking at the menu online. So incredibly delicious! If you enjoy the various burrito bowls that Chipotle offers, you really ought to give this chain a try. The meat is flavorful (we had chicken and pork bowls), the yellow rice is a really great alternative to the typical white or brown choice, and all of their sauces were excellent! Now if only we could convince the chain to expand nationwide!

Stopped by here the night before our cruise. Food was ethnic. Staff was OK, but hard to understand when we asked questions about the menu. You order at counter, then stand around and wait. Tables inside and out on a patio, that was dirty.

I was positively surprised because this fast food joint serve a significant amount of relatively healthy food and specially the grilled chicken is very tasty. I would not hesitate to go again

Love the sauces, especially the guava and the rum and pineapple and wish they would bottle them and sell them. The chicken tends to be overcooked but I can overlook that for the sauces and sides!

I was hungry after work and stopped at the Pollo Tropical which is right on the way home. Their half order of chicken with black beans and rice is really delicious, and hits the spot. The black beans are just like homemade black beans, the flavor of the chicken and beans is sensational. It doesn't taste like fast food; it is more like a fancy restaurant's gourmet food. The price is very reasonable..... for a plate of 1/4 chicken and black beans and rice, it is $4.99. There are very savory side dishes also, such as fried plantains or caesar salad or fried yucca. The desserts are excellent ....they key lime pie is really tasty! I recommend this restaurant.

I love Pollo Tropical, they have the best chicken soup, I really enjoyed all the sauces they have, everything was delicious

Try this place out. Great food for the price. if you have kids, get lots to eat for fair value. Place gets crowded at noon. People were lined up out the do0r. Just enforces the food is good.

Incredible value and really tasty chicken dishes. Always enjoy this place no matter which city in the US I am.

My husband and I were staying close-by while in Miami for a cruise. We were actually walking to a nearby restaurant when we saw Pollo Tropical. We decided to try it and we were so thankful we did. The food was amazing and the prices were great! We both ate for $15, including drinks. The portions are generous and there is a salsa bar in the middle of the restaurant. Pollo Tropical certainly raises the bar for the fast food industry. I wish we had one in our area. Skip the restaurants you know and give Pollo Tropical a try!

Needed a quick bite after a long flight. This was perfect, fast and tasty and felt healthier than a burger! It was very tasty and particularly liked all the salsas/sauces that you could add to your meal.

Pollo is a Miami favorite from what I was told for quick and easy fast food. It was healthier than mcdonalds, and tasted way better too. Pretty fresh ingredients made it for a meal that was reasonable in price.

This is a fast food place with a Mexican flare for salads, rice and beans, and all at a reasonable price. The hour was late and we were hungry and it served the purpose well. You'll do best if you can speak Spanish.

We had just gotten to our hotel after landing in Miami for our pre-cruise stay. we spotted this establishment and decide to get a bite to eat. It was different fare and different food. we ordered black beans, rice, roasted chicken. for fast food we found it okay.

Title say it all-it was nice to take a break from the high prices of Miami to have a good quality dinner here at a fair price

I'm here on business and don't want to waste time in restaurant...also I wanted something relatively healthy. This is the place. Grilled chicken and salads all day long.

Business travel has a lot to be desired when you’re on a tight budget. My Hampton Inn near the Miami airport was one block from this restaurant. I noticed it was the only fast food place with a line and no help wanted sign in the front. It’s a Cuban style food place with grilled chicken, plantains, yucca, Cuban pork, Caesar wraps, mango tea and. a great sauce bar! Some very hot, some sweet and sour and some bbq. This was a great experience! The counter service was helpful and friendly. The place had a lot of people sitting to enjoy their plate dinners! When was the last time you saw people sitting at a fast food place that wasn’t a chick Gil a? Don’t forget the tart key lime pie! Sometimes dinner on a budget can be a special time!

Great quesadillas, great salad combinatios, and great grilled chicken. The service, is very warm and friendly, and very quick. Everything that I tried, was very tasty. I really like this chain fast food restaurant.

New on Pollo Tropical !!!! When you ask for a cup of water , they give you a cone , impossible to put it on the table , They are practically forcing you to buy a soda, I told them that I don’t drink soda and then they made a face like it is what it is !!

I chose this restaurant to get some take-away since it was close to my hotel and was pleasantly surprised that they had more than just chicken and fried food. I chose the pulled pork and it was delicious!

Chicken and ribs were good, however the place was a bit messy and unkept. Corn casserole was good and the salsas were nice to have with the chicken.

Can't wait to get to PT once in Miami. 20 years and the flavor is the same and all the sides just get better and better. Not a flavor for everybody but everybody should taste it.

As always, a nice chicken meal with some rice and a bun. Erika was really nice helping out with the order. Good stuff at a fair price.

We stop to eat something fresh in the way to our hotel , can say the food was okay the only thing the rice was like mashed potato , and they din't put bacon to the sandwich ,we asked food to stay and they gave us to go maybe because they don't do the orders as is supposed to be.

This is like a fast food outlet with a touch of mom's cooking. Usually I have a nice meal on a Sunday but on vacation you eat what you get. .I was happy to have found Pollo tropical . I had the black beans, rice, corn and chicken . It was soo good that after I had lunch I lined rifht back up and bought dinner to take back to the hotel. The food was really good. Place clean. The cashier was really pleasant and sweet and food handlers really moving quickly. Best of all the price is on par with buying a burgar and drink. Will definitely be back. Keep it up guys

I ordered a chicken plate, the chicken had good flavor, but was dry and over cooked. The Caesar salad was okay, but only a few romaine lettuce leaves. Not a good value.

We visited this restaurant because of the reviews. The service and food were excellent! We were the only non-Latins in the place and felt welcome and the staff took their time with us. The chicken was moist, tender and delicious. Stop in for a real South Florida meal.

Stopped by this Pollo Tropical recently after a late arrival in Miami and before heading to the hotel. It was close to closing so that may be why we had mixed feelings about this visit My chicken was close to burnt, but another person in my party had a better meal. They were out of one the sides I had asked for, but again it was close to close. Some of the sides seemed like they weren't fresh either and were dried out. All an all an OK visit. Not wowed, but not horrible.

We arrived hungry to our hotel & walked to this place. It was very busy and after eating, it was easy to see why. We had the classic chicken sandwich combo (included fries & drink). The chicken was super juicy, and the bun was very good as well. They had a sauce bar, and we enjoyed both the spicy chipotle and the pineapple rum sauces. The place was clean, the employees...not friendly but efficient, so I’ll take that. We would recommend & eat here again.

It might not be a fancy restaurant but this food chain is doing things differently by offering basic latin food full of taste and at convenient prices. Other great things to consider include a wide variety menu, high quality ingredients and "grandma´s kitchen flavors in most recipes". Enjoy!

This is a short walk from the Hampton where we stayed. The food was prepared on site, moderately priced, and yummy!!! Wish we had one of these in our location.

Staying in a hotel nearby before taking off on a cruise so decided to get a take away lunch from there. Service was good with pleasant young staff, good choice on the menu. We had chicken with chips and a Caesar Salad. Good size serve and very tasty. Good for a quick takeaway lunch, it also looked pleasant enough to have a meal in .

Excellent chicken dishes that were plentiful and the yucca was very tasty. Try the flan it is worth it.

We enjoyed eating at Pollo Tropical!! We bought the whole chicken dinner with 2 sides, plantains and biscuits. It was a great value that filled our family of 4 (2 adults and children 10 & 12). I especially enjoyed their Guava BBQ sauce!

Was in town working at the airport and stopped in for lunch one day. The place was packed! A co-worker told me later that it's a local favorite and is always busy. That being said, even though it was packed with patrons, my food was fast, fresh and flavorful. I'll definitely be back!

so good and so inexpensive. the desserts are good too. its the plantains and chicken that rock here !

Any time I go to the Margate Restaurant the food is burned and the beans are liquid hardly any beans.

I haven't been to Miami in awhile and I couldn't wait to go back to pollo tropical. This particular location was small, the lines were long.... They messed up my order, and the location was not very clean. It was the first time I ever left PT disappointed. I will visit one of their other locations next time!

Among the myriads of fast food available, this chicken is tastier, healthier than most of the rest of deep fat fried food. Very good priced and the combos are great.

This is a place we like to go to when in Miami. Good food and very good prices. Always very busy. They have all these different sauces that you can try with your meal.

This place has commercials and locations everywhere. I hated it. Its like cafeteria food with no flavor. Perhaps if you were from Florida, you are use to it. I hate it. I imagined perruvian chicken, well this is far from it. NASTY.

I had been told this place a delicious, but I was hesitant because it's a fast food restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. This place is really good. They prices are affordable and the food is really good. They run out of food so definitely go earlier. Anything you get on the menu is delicious. They also have a lot of good salsas to choose from.

Think of it as Cuban Fast Food. You can get in and out quickly and have a delicious Cuban meal with white rice and black beans with some yuca with mojo. It is a lot like a Cuban Boston Market. The Cuban seasoning is very distinct and once you try it you will fall in love with it. I usually take it to go as the place is usually pretty full but if you can get a seat, you'll probably end up having 2nds. Eat up and enjoy

The desk clerk at our hotel mentioned Pollo Tropical when we asked about someplace to eat nearby. She mentioned several places, but when we happened upon Pollo Tropical we decided to stop in. I thought to myself, the place has folks running in and out like crazy so it must be good. It was around lunch time, and we saw everyone from tourists like our selves to local Cubanos, and pretty people dressed in formal wear and gowns coming in for a quick bite. The specialty is Cuban grilled chicken. Served with black beans and rice, it was delicious. Try the hot sauce. They also serve ribs, sandwiches, salads, soup, and have a variety of deserts. They have a selection of standard US and Eastern Caribbean sodas. Workers rushed to keep the restaurant as clean as could be given the rush of people. If you're around MIA and want some good fast local Miami food check this place out.

You saw the tropical chicken of 57th Avenue and 7th motivated by the TV promotion I ordered the old clothes in all offers with tostones in quesadillas and with beans and rice it seems that they are saving the meat because it was literally a steal because there was not a spoonful. Please check what the amount of meat each offer carries because it is not on one plate is on all. I spent my money because we threw it away. It was just a lot of rice. A tablespoon of beans and half a teaspoon of meat. It's a lack of respect

For the price and the quality of the food, this is the place to go. Yummy chicken (they are the best!), rice, sweet plantains, yucca fries, guava bar. They are all so fresh and tasty. The outdoor seating is pretty nice.

Pollo Tropical has the best latin fast food. The chicken is tasty and well cooked, the side dishes are well prepared and tasty. The pork is absolutely delicious!

Pollo Tropical chain is consistent with its menu, decor, layout and food. The staff is friendly and efficient, I enjoyed my meal.

Love this place!,, After we've done the hot spots of Miami and you want some Real food you MUST get pollo The line is out the door but well worth the wait!

You have have people in the drive through that don’t know how to take orders and when they hand you your order they like throw it at you . And this happen yesterday around after 5 pm . I placed an order for a BLT chicken sandwich and when I got home it was a bread sandwich NO CHICKEN . This isn’t the first time that this has happen and this time corporate is going to hear about this . People work hard for there money for someone not paying attention while doing there work

When in the US you'll be surrounded by fast food on every corner, than good to know that Pollo tropical looks like a fast food from outside ( and probably is) however, the chicken is nicely roasted and the additional menu choices are not bad at all. Good for when you want to take a quick bite somewhere but wish to keep it bit healthier that the typical junk foods

We dined here for the first time during a recent visit to Miami. The food was VERY good! Everything was fresh and the blend of favors was very appealing. We enjoyed the grilled chicken, yellow rice w/veggies and balsamic tomatoes. I even decided to try the Guava Cheesecake....Refreshingly Delicious! 😋 The food was so good and affordable, we ate there 3 times during our 8 day stay! We went a little loco for the Pollo😄 When you find something good, why go elsewhere?

This place has an excellent, cheap and good menu por food. We can save money and eat healthly. I recommend this restaurant

walk or drive. delicious Cuban-American food. I have never had anything bad there. fresh and fast food. try the key limepie

Great service and great fast food. I visit this restaurant every time I am in Miami. For fast food it is very good and not the usual deep fried fare.

I tired the Avocado Cilantro Tropichop bowl with chicken, black beans and white rice and it was suprisingly good. They were kinda stingy with the chicken, and you had to mix the rice and beans in the bowl in order to get the full effect. The bowl still made for a good and quick lunch.

What can I say. Awesome Cuban food, fast and at a great price. If you want good cuban food, but don't want to wait a long time, and stay in budget, this is the place to go.

The location was excellent! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The premises was CLEAN inside and outside.

We weren't very hungry, so we each had 1/4 chicken plate and found it more than enough. We noticed lots of local people enjoying the food, leaving the other fast food spots virtually empty. Pollo specializes in chicken and ribs, but don't miss the fantastic fried plantain--wish I could figure out how to make that.

We have eaten at pollo tropical in Florida and Puerto Rico. We always find they are good value for the type of food you get and they are fast. The fried plantains and fly yuca are good, my favorite is the chicken and I like their black beans and rice. Their 3 leches desert is very good. Same food can be better at a restaurant in Miami or in some countries in Latin America, but in Miami they price would most likely be higher for equivalent food.

If you are looking for assorted food, nice flavor, good combos, good price, here you can have a nice affordable meal, try Tropical Favorites!

We stayed at a near by hotel the night before a cruise. I had read the reviews about this place on Trip Advisor and was happy to see it was only a short walk from our hotel. The food was great! and for family of 4 had plenty to eat for around $30. It is fast food style - order & pay then sit where you want type restaurant - found it to be very clean. The service was good - staff gave recommendations since we do not have one of these back home (we wish we did now!) The food was great - grilled chicken and ribs - rice, burrito type dishes, shrimp wraps. the best ribs I ever had in a restaurant like this! some stuff had some spice to it but there were plenty of options without - everyone was happy. We enjoyed it so much for dinner that we went back there the next day for lunch! Would highly recommend and will definitely go again when back in the area!

Excellent and healthy Food. Very convenience locations. They improve their menu constantly, it is plus !! The taste of the chicken and black beans are amazing. The Caribbean Soup it is too greasy (the only negative point)

On our way our cruise we stopped and ate and the food was so good. The service was great. I love the atmosphere.

This food chain was recommended to me by my Florida friend. Seeing one very close to the Hampton Inn we stayed, we decided to give it a try. The meat was ordinary, OK nothing wow, but the best were many delicious sauce dips. In fact, I think without them the meal would be tasteless. There's a communication issue there - the staff barely speaks English, while I don't speak Spanish. Still this is US, so you should take care about that.

I looked online at the menu before I went to order and was excited to try the cheese empanadas and chicken avocado wrap. Sadly they were out of both.... Very disappointing! I went with whatever the girl ordered for me (very difficult understanding through the drive thru), and it turned out ok. It was a chicken club that was pretty tasty... Not bad. And some plantains --A very interesting dish(not bad)! I can't say we will be going back.

The chicken was prepared well, deliciously seasoned... but the highlight was the corn... the best corn I ate in Miami...

We don't have this franchise in Canada , hence we all adore this place whenever we are in florida, Delicious grilled chicken , healthy and appealing food, the Sauce Counter is amazing and has variety of sauces and dips buffet style, Citrus Chicken Salad was my favourite and Tropichops also gives you a control over what you want to eat

worst experience at breakfast .......the breakfast bowl for second time was cold i ask and the answer # no way to heat it up..........unbelievable im not coming back
lunch with a friend
I really don't go there, but was invited for lunch. I was ordered by my friend a chicken quezadilla wrap, I didn't like it at all. It was very hot, all I could feel was the heat from hot sauce and not the flavor of the food. I go there if someone invites me or if someone insists on going. I really don't like their food.
