I've eaten here twice and had a great experience both times. The food is very good and the service was excellent. The server was very willing to explain any dishes and make recommendations. So glad that the Hampton Inn team recommended this gem!

Small restaurant and the food was amazing! Lots on the menu was highly seasoned so let your server know if you don't like spicy but everything was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. Lots of Asian fusion cuisine which was a surprise to me, I wish I could have tried more of their dishes

Great strong drink choices Food is delicious Staff is friendly and polite Fish Good portion sizes and plenty of menu options

Do not pass Go, but go directly to this restaurant. The food is authentic and delicious. Everything is so good. And get a bag of coffee to go.

What can you say about a place that has great food, friendly service staff and incredibly reasonable prices? Four of us dined here for $50.00 and were very comfortably satiated. BONUS POINTS: Bring your own bottle as no corking charge and great wine store adjacent to restaurant on Flatbush Ave. I would make this a part of my dining "go to" places if I lived here.

My girlfriend and I just went from Manhattan to Brooklyn through the Brooklyn bridge and found this Peruvian place with tasty food! We tried the empanadas (very similar to the Brazilian pastéis) and the Lomo steak (mignon). Both are really good!

I was staying in Downtown Brooklyn and was in need of a lunch spot. After consulting online reviews, I found that this gem was located right around the corner from the Hampton Inn where I was staying. The interior is new-ish, modern and reasonably comfortable. The menu has a number of attractive items including ceviches that would lure me back for dinner at some point when I'm in the area. A sandwich board on the sidewalk advertised a pulled chicken sandwich (Pollo A La Brasa), but it wasn't on the menu I was given. I inquired and it turns out that it's on a separate paper (takeout?) menu, which was kind of odd. The complimentary little starter of corn and a green sauce that had a little zip to it was delicious, as was the pulled pollo sandwich which was bathed in cheese on what tasted like homemade bread. My side of choice, fried plantains were much soggier than I'd prefer, but still were sweet and tasty. The service relatively indifferent and wasn't overly attentive or friendly. Even though the restaurant was barely busy, the food took quite a while to come out. I fully understand that fresh made food takes proper time to prepare, but even given consideration for that, it was still sluggish, especially given the smart streamlining of ingredients in such a place. I suspect that a lot of local office workers love the food here, but choose not to go more often because of the time commitment, which would explain why a place with such great food wasn't busier during primetime lunch hour.

Our meals, drinks and service were all amazing. Eight of us in our group and we ordered a number of appetizers and dinners and shared among us. All was fantastic, in particular the charred octopus, red snapper cerviche were very good. Sauces very flavorful. Chicken was beautifully roasted and very tender. I wish I lived nearby to go back again soon.

Picked this place to eat because it was less then a block from where we are staying on vacation. Waitress took the time to explain everything to us since we had never been there before. I had the Jalen and my daughter had the. Mixto. Both dishes were very tasty and mine was a huge serving. Waitress chatted with us for a while when she found out we were from out of town. Very pleasant meal but a little pricey.

Que Paso?? NYC has a lot of good Peruvian restaurants - this is not one of them. My first order of Peruvian chicken from this restaurant was great. Three times after this, I received chicken that was old and dry.

It's my first time to try Peruvian food, there's q a lot of choice, dishes could come with fried rice, French fries, sweet potatoes etc.. The staffs are friendly, they are willing to explain and introduce the food to you. Q a lot of choices of cocktails, generally the food is good, except the roasted chicken was found bit disappointed.

This is a small restaurant, you may need to make a reservation. We did not have one and they accommodated us at the bar. Sangria is good and has a kick to it. Empanadas were hot and crispy but not much meat in the filling. Chef’s special salmon d’oro was very good. Steak taku taku was large but so so. People had brought their children and would share rotisserie chicken with them.

The food is Excellent. A very accommodating staff. If you don't know the food, ask for direction. You will be very happy 😊

Ok so it is unlicensed, and we did not know before we arrived - so be aware. The food though, was absolutely superb and generous. Really good portion sizes and a nice variety of dishes, that are nicely prepared and served. It is really good value and worth seeking out.

This was a brilliant find - really good food and at a reasonable price. The salads are outstanding - Staff were great!

peruvian yes, but menu should appeal to anyone's taste. everything on menu looked good. we went with paella and and salmon as entree choices. well developed flavors and presentation. service was friendly and helpful. overall, a gem.

Had dinner here. Empanadas were above average, the chicken main was also good.....overall, 3.5/4 stars .... I suspect the rotisserie chicken (Peruvian style) might be the main attraction although that's not what I had. They don't have a liquor lisc- so no beer and wine..

It has been a while since I had such a good original seviche and pisco sour. All plates were very tasty and are genuine Peruvian. Nice and helpful staff and if you speak Spanish, surely do. Btw, they have a nice wine list.

I had the Langostino Saltado and it was grubbin'. I left the place highly satisfied and will come again on my trip out here from San Francisco.

Saw the menu on the window and walked through the door only to find out I had walked into the Chinese restaurant next door. After walking around the corner and finding the right door, I walked in and sat at the bar. Being hungry and not terribly adventurous I ordered the flat steak and Peruvian fried rice. But Inca Kola. Really. Inca Kola. I'm not a soda drinker but i had to chuckle when I drank it and it tasted like bubble gum. The food was very good, and filling. Service was very good and friendly.

nice menu and food choices. The waiter was friendly but I wish she could have spent more time telling you more about the food. THe prices are OK and the wine list if OK. Nice surroundings and seems popular with all kind of people.

If you like ceviche, this new Peruvian restaurant is a great find. I have eaten at this restaurant on at least ten occasions, tried most items on the menu and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is upbeat, and the owners take an active interest in your dining experience. I am an admitted food snob from New Orleans and I can't wait to get back to Brooklyn for the traditional ceviche at Pollo d'Oro. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great cerviche, and chicken. Tasty salads. Nice decor. Slow service at lunch time. Difficult time finding server to pay tab. Give yourself time but worthwhile.

I did take-out. First time there. Really cute restaurant. The 1/4 chicken was super good, with the green sauce, so so good. The side dish I had were the fries. And they were tasty. I will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I stopped by this restaurant while walking in Brooklyn and it was amazing! I had never had a Pisco Sour drink before but I will most definitely have one again after trying the ones at this restaurant. The food was Peruvian, and we started with a sampler of some of the restaurants best. The ceviche was absolutely delicious along with the rest of the food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling through Brooklyn and anyone that is looking to try delicious Peruvian food. Oh and try the green dip. It's a secret recipe and I guarantee you won't be able to stop eating it.

I loved this restaurant. They start you off with some peruvian corn with a green dipping sauce. I would bathe in that sauce, it's incredible. The ceviche appetizers are really fresh and well-done. Currently, it's BYOB, but they will serve your beverage for you. Would return again!

I'm a fan on Peruvian food after trying it during a visit to the country. This restaurant showed up highly rated on TAdviser so we went there. Try the starters. Multiple good options there. And go for the classic Peruvian cocktail Pisco Sour - this restaurant does justice to its greatness. We visited this restaurant while on a family trip. It's not exactly kids friendly but there are options on the menu suitable for kids.

I don't understand the great reviews, although they are from last year. Since then we have the pandemic so anything could have happened in-between. Anyway the cocktails were nice, the empanadas were good but the mains were really bad. it tasted like frozen food from the supermarket and not the good brand. meat was overcooked and the sides were bland. the waitress was very nice but the service was slow and the space was not packed. I rarely post a bad review but I felt bad about spending so much money on a lousy dinner so here you are.

We were in town for my son's wedding and got the chance to try out this restaurant. The food was great and the service excellent. It is Peruvian so it was fun trying something different. The stuffed avocado was excellent.

New restaurant in the base of the Oro Condominium in Downtown Brooklyn. The design is modern and pretty. Service is excellent. It is friendly and professional as are the owners. Each of us started with ceviche. I had the traditional and my partner had the evening's special "lobster" ceviche. Both were delicious. For my entree, I had the excellent signature rotisserie chicken. It was hot, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The other entree was a shredded chicken in a wonderful cream sauce. Sides were great sweet plantains and rice and beans. Portions are large. Right now they serve only dinner but will be open for breakfast and lunch shortly. We had a great meal and will be back often.

Nice restaurant with excellent food, great location, and good staff. We have eaten here a few times now and nothing we have chosen disappoints.

Pollo D’Oro is a newly opened Peruvian restaurant in downtown Brooklyn. I visited while on a business trip because it is only steps away from the new Hampton Hotel and it was highly recommended by the hotel staff. Pollo D’Oro has two parts, which work better when you’re there than it sounds in writing. It has a nice restaurant with modern, clean lines and what amounts to a counter to take food out (mostly chicken, as the name suggests). The two menus appear very different, so what I’m reviewing is the sit-down experience. The seating area is very nice with lots of glass and attractive views. My server was attentive, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. The restaurant just opened, and they do not yet have their liquor license. That’s OK, because there is a nice wine store literally around the corner where you can select whatever wine you want and they will open it at your table. At some point they will have their license, but it’s about as easy as it gets to BYOB – and of course the price is very reasonable. The menu focuses on Peruvian offerings. I had the wonderful coconut ceviche (it was the special) as a starter, which was both delicious and artistically arranged in a coconut shell. I had the flavorful tacu tacu steak for the entrée. They left "Andes" mints with the check, which I thought was apt, although likely a coincidence. I was happy to find Pollo D'Oro.

The service, the ambience, the food... everything was perfect. This is a small place in a corner and it was worth going. My fiancée ordered the Seco de Cordero and I ordered Lomo Saltado. Their steak empanadas is a must try. Prices are a bit high but worth trying.

Very friendly staff. I had the Salmon al Cuzco and loved it. Your own slice Peru. Try everything you will love it

Pollo d'Oro is a good spot for a lunch or dinner. Their rotisserie chicken is juicy just be prepared for a bit of a wait during the dinner rush for takeaway. My friend enjoyed their empanadas with their aji verde sauce. The vegetable fried rice hit the spot for my father and was more than ample. Peru has a significant asian population so the cross of the two food cultures is interesting to see but a welcome addition.

My parents were in town this past weekend and needed a hearty warm meal during the snowfall. My mother devoured the roasted chicken while my father enjoyed wholeheartedly the Stir-fry with steak. He really enjoys the Peruvian-Asian fusion culture. But I feel I was the winner with the lamb shank stew. It was tender & very flavorful. I could only eat about 1/2 of it which made for a great leftover with some poached eggs the next morning.

The service was slow, eventjough the restaurant wasn’t fully booked. My ceviche mixto was okay, the flavor from the leche del tigre was good, had a good kick but the seafood was not that good. The Lomo Saltado was just terrible, no the meat was from poor quality, not seasoned and cheewy. The rice was old and the sauce was just bad. I was really disapoointed at how horrible this place was.

Friendly servers, good beer and traditional NYC Italian food, plus great paninis and half a block from the hotel on the way to the Barclay Center. We were very pleased with our food and service.

We went with visiting family to this recommended restaurant. Fabulous! Authentic Peruvian cuisine by a Chef from El Callao, Perú! Believe me, we know Perú food. Pisco sour, Ceviche, Causa, Anticucho, Jalea (Seafood): Tasty and textbook preparation, with neat presentation! Oh, and great music too. Meet one of the owners, Manny, ensuring quality and pleasant attendance. Coming again!

It's a very different restaurant with healthy spicy and fresh food at very reasonable prices. The Peruvian theme runs from the cocktail list, wine list to great food. They even do 'pollo', empanadas and tamales plus creative side dishes to take out. Certainly worth visiting and would be great with a much of friends.

We happened to stay at the Hampton Inn and right around the corner of was where the restaurant is located. Excellent Peruvian food! Very inexpensive and fresh ingredients. We had the paella and to this day we are still raving about the incredibly fresh and generous amount of seafood, including delicious clams, mussels, squid, and scallops with yellow rice and seasoned with cilantro. I had the tacu tacu and it was outstanding. The empanadas are tasty, too. Service was friendly and unassuming. Truly enjoyed the food and would return again.

This place is awesome! The ceviche was ver good! One of the best and the Salmon and rice was outstanding. Highly recommended!

We had spent the afternoon at the Brooklyn Museum and sought a restaurant close to the Hampton Inn where we were staying. Pollo d'Oro was right around the corner. Its menu is Peruvian, which was a first for me. I had a lamb shank stew that was delicious. My companions also enjoyed their meals. Dessert was a yummy chocolate sponge topped with flan and garnished with strawberries. The place is a pleasant store front and seems to do a good carry out business. Our server was enthusiastic and capable. Glad we chose Pollo d'Oro!

Grilled octopus was tender, well seasoned and simply delicious . Jalea was perfection, beautiful color and taste, seafood was fresh.

I enjoyed amazing food during a trip to Peru, so I was anxious to taste their delicious cuisine again but skeptical that I could find it. But Pollo d'Oro was wonderful at recreating these delicious flavors! My adult daughter and I visited on Saturday evening and were served by the friendly Luciana, who recommended some excellent dishes. We started with very good Pisco Sour drinks and shared a Causa Crocante (potato) appetizer. My daughter ordered the Seco Cordero (lamb shank) and I had the Cuzco Shrimp. All were simply delicious. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse, which was rich enough for two to share. My only regret is that I don't live in New York so I will have to fly back to dine here again!

We ordered a half chicken, a couple of appetizers and shared the meal. Still lots left over. Food was rotisserie chicken, seasoned well, delicious! Empanadas and tamales were authentic!

The service is fast and all the waitresses are friendly. The decoration is very nice, might look kinda fancy. They have a little bar. The food was served quick and they kept refilling my glass of water everytime I would finish it. Prices are okay, make sure you ask what's the size of the plate because some of them are really small.

The brunch menu is much more limited, but the sandwiches did not disappoint. They were also kind enough to let us order appetizers off the regular menu to accommodate our toddler. Service was great. I’m not sure if the AC was out that day or they just keep it warm, but on a hot summer day it was a bit toasty, however it wouldn’t stop me from returning.

This place reminded me of flavors of when I went to Peru. Every plate was delicious. I just wish the appetizer portion were a little bigger or have an entree size. But everything else was mouth watering. My waitress has been super attentive and very involved with my experience. She didn't even know I was peruvian and she was selling me ever dish. Looking forward to eat there again.

I ordered a Peruvian style steak dish that looked very appetizing. The portion was generous and included rice and french fries. Unfortunately, the steak was mostly tough and chewy, even though it was cut thin. The salad was a good mix. However, the dressing was very tart, perhaps from lime juice as used in ceviche. Service was good. I should have tried the chicken which is the restaurant's namesake and not followed my server's recommendation to order the steak instead. Peruvian beer was quite good.

Oh my! Yum yum yum... here on business, this place was walking distance from my hotel. Ceviche mixto was AMAZING! Shrimp, scallops, octopus, calamari, and fresh fish with a sweet potato cake (?)... So good! I had salmon (which was very good) but my food envy was for the salad and rotisserie chicken I saw go by. I need to come back here just to eat at Pollo D'Oro again!
More different (from European food) than expected but definitely yummy
Peruvian food is a bit more different from Spanish (that I was expecting) but that adds a bit of interest. My meal (Salmon in a slightly spicy source) was very tasty but my wife and daughter were a bit disappointed in their meal which was a mixture of various Peruvian specialities. Trying something different is always an adventure! Everything was clean and the staff were friendly.
