We have enjoyed this restaurant forever!! It is so pretty inside as well since it has been renovated. The food is always tasty and the service is wonderful!! Celebrated our parents 50th Anniversary there and everything was spectacular! We highly recommend for any special occasion!! Filled with attention to detail, and any special food requests, we were so delighted to have all of our friends and family there!! Delicious!! We are so thankful for the amazing service and making this very special time the best ever!!

Stay away from this place. Terrible, just terrible. We were rushed through our meal, and after spending over 300 for dinner in a crowded, ridiculously boisterous room, the maitre'd had the utter gaul to ask us to vacate our table so that the next party could sit. Upon leaving, he tried to say good night, but I walked right past him. I have never been treated like this, and I will never, ever, go back there again.

Loved the food at this restaurant. I wanted to go back the next day but no time. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, they have a back patio too if you prefer al fresco dining. The wait staff are very helpful and perfectly efficient. We had appetizers of clams casino, calamari, and salad. Delicious. I had the soft shell crab for my entree and had it sautéed instead of fried. Everyone else had pasta, chicken parmigiana and each friend reported their meal was delicious. I would definitely recommend and I would definitely return.

Friends and I needed a place to meet and Ponte Vecchio was recommended in the Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn. The restaurant experience was very positive. In area full of restaurants, Ponte Vecchio stood out. From the valet parking to the interior as soon as you walk into the restaurant. The white interior with black accents in a neo classical feel leaning into modern. The white table clothes and chairs played well against the dark wood floors. A beautiful blue long sofa was adjacent to the bar. Very tasteful. Now the food selection: many different appealing "specials" and stand out menu selections. We started with Zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese and another dish of tuna with fennel and citrus and toasted almonds. Both dishes were excellent. Presentation was beautiful. Lunch was a special of soft shell crabs. The waitperson (Patrick) was kind enough at my request to ask the chef to saute two and franchese another. The rest of the party had tuna steak and a salad with grilled shrimp. Everone was very pleased. Yes, the service was excellent and Patrick delighted in sharing with us the different specials. Dessert selection was very appealing and varied. We had a fruit plate and it was fresh, pleasing to the eye. I recommend this restaurant.

We had a wonderful dinner here. I had the shrimp fra diavolo with linguine & my wife had the whole lobster , also fra diavolo with linguine. Both dishes were outstanding & so big we took some home. We also had delicious appetizers, tuna tartare & fried soft shell crabs. With drinks the total came to $200+. Service was excellent throughout the dinner.

Went for dinner. Service decor and cleanliness were at the same high standards we have experienced over the past 25 years. Now onto the food. In a word AMAZING. The prices are on the high side but you put that on the back burner for the quality and portions. We ordered pasta and veal piazziola which was a menus staple. It was removed but you can ask for it and it they will make it. Wine list is short, sweet and to the point. There are no real outliers on the selection. The list is well balanced. From the bus boys, to the waiters, and even the valet parking person everyone does there job first time right. If you go on the weekend you need a reservation. They also have outdoor dining which is a plus on good weather days.

"Fantastic" Amazing food and unbelievable staff! A Must! Mother's Day was not only memorable but the food Italian food and Waitstaff all made this a place not to be missed. The menu for a holiday was really impressive! There were so many choices all better than the next making it so hard to decide. Yes !Ponte Vecchio Restaurant BROOKYN is a must for Italians and anyone who demands excellence dining. Sunday sauce ,Lobster pasta Oh Boy I can go on and on. From the decor" top notch " Culinary diishes to the desserts, Yummm!! Yumm! Yum! White chocolate tartufo a must and the cheesecake perfection! Try it you will not be disappointed!

This place is down right amazing! One of the best Italian places I've been to!! For brooklyn that is definitly a hard thing to come by! It is very classy upscale and has gorgeous décor. You can go out for a date or have a great time with friends...I would reccomended this restaurant for any occasion.

When me and my friends are in the mood for a nice night in Brooklyn or also want to have a nice classy night with our girlfriends we come to Ponte Vecchio. The food is extremely tasty, the service is very good, and the quality is unquestioned. Last time we went we had the shrimp spaghetti crepe sauce tin, mozzarella carozza in their special sauce and chicken with pasta and vodka sauce. All were dynamite.

Eat here every six months or so as it is far from home, but well worth the effort. Food is fresh and top quality - tastes like high end home cooking. Service is warm and friendly, doesn't feel rushed even when busy. Atmosphere is loud and relatively casual, not cheap but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended!

Long Story Short - Once the co-owner got a glimpse of himself on TV, he seems to care very little about the food being served or his customers. My Family has been going to Ponte Vecchio for over 30 years - - - of course the owners have changed hands, but the place had always been our "Go To" for family functions and just for 1 or 2 couples to dine out. We always enjoyed it, even with the current owners. As a matter of fact we had a wonderful dinner for 20 there one year ago in December 2013. However, having dined there this past March, June & August I can tell you it's not the same. The wait staff is kind, warm. helpful and do their best to not rush you. However, since his/their appearances on Bravo TV, the owners seem to have a "Rush Them Out" policy. Which includes the servings getting smaller - - - I guess if there's less to eat then you'll be finished quicker. The prices are way up now, too. They were always a little pricey; for years. But now it's even pricey for Manhattan, let alone Bay Ridge. Also, while the co-owner at one time always had time to talk to all the customers (especially familiar faces) it seems if you don't mention his appearances on 'Housewives" his tanned, smooth head turns red and he no longer has time to chat. The food itself is still very good. Certain dishes can be 'overcooked' as noted by another reviewer, but in most cases the food would be 'too wet' if not prepared this way. You know what I mean, sometimes too much juice/sauce/moisture can spoil a dish, too. I plan to give them at least 2 more tries before I give up on this restaurant. Maybe he just needs time to get over new celebrity. As a side note: I understand, but am not crazy about the fact, that my hard earned Brooklyn, NY Money is being used to support a New Jersey Lifestyle. :-)

Ate there during the week and did not have to wait. Had the soft shelled crabs which they gave me a choice on how I wanted them prepared. My wife had the Osso Bucco and she was very pleased as well. The service was excellent and we had a great dinner experience.

Been going here for many years with family. But the last few years the atmosphere has gotten very noisy. And. Long wSits. Food is still quite good but prices have risen and there are many other choices with a better atmosphere. Good for appetizers and a drink however.

The service was great food was was wonderful will be back soon what a great time couldn't ask for anything more

I've been here a few times and the food is always delicious. If you go on a weekend, they do not take reservations for 2, but if you get there prior to 7:30 there isn't usually a wait. It does get crowded later on but there is a bar you can wait at. The atmosphere is nice- pretty decor and busy place. The experience I recently had here made me not want return even though the food is delicious and I really enjoy the atmosphere. The last time I was here, I ordered a drink after our main course while we were looking at the dessert menu. We decided we didn't want dessert, and I continued to wait for my drink. When the waiter brought the drink, we informed him we were not going to get dessert. He then brought us the check and we paid. A few minutes later he took the check and wished us a good night. All of this was fine and dandy but right after her took the check, as I was still drinking my drink, I believe it was the maître d' who came over to us and told us he had people waiting and we needed to hurry up and leave that he needed our table. It was rude and insulting in general and even more so considering we just paid the check and I was still finishing the drink that took so long to get to me anyway. As someone who worked in the restaurant business, there is a polite and professional way to discuss this, and the circumstances did not call for his rudeness either. It made me not want to return here. I rarely give less than 4-5 in a review but it ruined the experience. I wouldn't tell someone not to go here as the food is delicious and everyone else has been polite but this one incident turned me off from wanting to return.

excellent food especially the rigatoni ala ponte vecchio. good appetizers, good desserts but a bit noisy and pricey.

I could never say one bad thing about any restaurants Reno his family own, owned from the decor to the food and people you meet its the best always a good time even if you go alone you meet people and its amazing, not one bad thing to say about the food it's his passion, fresh always fresh, lively and amazing. Bravo as always Caio Gioia

Ponte Vecchio is a long time favorite of our and many others in Bay Ridge. Their food is tasty and creative. The waitstaff are attentive and eager to please!

The food is good the service is excellent but!!! They charge me to times! I send them an email at there web sight they ignore me. Now i have to do it with my credit card compeny. It will take 60 days to chack it. 1 mill so mach trabell. as a torist - i am very disepoinmet

Before you spend your money the first thing you should do is check the official grading that the Inspector gives to the restaurant which would be a A for Ponte s . The food quality is excellent and the service is dependent on the server which could be good to excellent . Of course on many evenings it will be crowded so you should never feel rushed at dinner but in the same time be considerate of others who are waiting for table. All restaurants charge a surcharge for a credit card so if you like to avoid it , you can pay in cash or you can pay half in cash and half in credit .

Always crowded, hip atmosphere, delicious pasta and meat dishes. Its been around a very long time so they must be doing something right. Not a cozy romantic place, altho they list it as such...its usually noisy and crowded, but I found that awesome too!!!!

This place is always crowded, so we decided to see what's the fuss...from the appetizers to desserts everything was delicious..the wait staff very friendly...there is valet parking available..bathrooms clean...why only 4 stars...the acoustics...have you ever been in such a noisy room ,that all you hear is a buzzz...it has to be the loudest restaurant I've ever been in..insanely loud....it felt like everyone was in competition for conversation..no one shuddups when they eat here.. we shuddups, because the food was very tasty...if you want good food, don't mind loud noises and the price was very fair....this is a very good place to try..

This was a very mixed bag for me and I will base it on my dinner and not of the full party as they raved about all of their mains and I must admit I had meal envy. We opted for a selection of appetisers, all very good in particular the baked clams! A few of the party had veal in varying methods and I tasted all and think all were delicious. I opted for spaghetti with seafood and white wine sauce. This is a dish I often choose in an Italian restaurant at home and this paled in comparison. It lacked flavour and basically was a mound of white spaghetti with very over cooked calamari , lots of it. As other reviewers have commented the noise level is excessive, just as well we are a pretty noisy bunch ourselves. Wines and service both excellent. I'd most definitely try this place again as I think I opted for the wrong dish on the night. However no excuse for lack of flavour and over cooked calamari in and Italian restaurant.

Had the pleasure to try this restaurant which is directly across the street from my office. We had a business luch there and the food was simply delicious with a minimal wait. We had traditional family style appetizers that included shrimp, calamari, mozzarella, and my favorite bruschetta. The seafood was great according to my colleagues, I couldn't eat it because I'm allergic. Even so my main course was Penne in Vodka Sauce and it was good and plentiful, so much so I couldn't eat it all. Vecchio can be pricey, but for lunch it was reasonable, maybe because we had no room for dessert! The service and atmosphere was wonderful and I will definitely go again.

Everything we ordered was fabulous- burrata with broccoli rabe, veal two different ways... Very accommodating with switching sauces to taste All made fresh! Only complaint is that staff seemed preoccupied. We would still go back!

Came for a birthday dinner with friends. Food was delicious, and service was good. Weekends can get a little noisy here, so we prefer to come to this establishment mid week. Dessert was delicious as well. I recommend Ponte Vecchio if you are looking for a good Italian Restaurant in the Bay Ridge area.

Ponte Vecchio is one of the Favorite locations for locals. Typical Italian Fare you would find in a Italy Restaurant.

$$$$, I must say, but food was excellent, service white gloves services. Formal dinning, with style . Great for groups or couples. We had a party of 15, and waiters were at our side to serve us all with a smile.

Went on a Saturday night with friends who raved about the restaurant and said they go there on special occasions (it was their anniversary). The restaurant is extremely noisy and cramped. Our friend had everything he ordered totally messed up. He ordered a martini which they served with ice ! He ordered Oysters Rockefeller and was served oysters on the half shell and shrimp fra diavlo which he said tasted like shrimp with marinara sauce. The restaurant is extremely overpriced. Our friend felt so badly that he sent a message the next day apologizing for the restaurant. Will stay on Staten Island where we have great Italian restaurants and they get the orders correct.

Everything spot on and if its not, they are always happy to accommodate you. Wait staff are very pleasant and complimentary.

Still dreaming of the most AMAZING restaurant/dining experience, I think I have ever had. It was like a well orchestrated concert. BRAVO Ponte Vecchio!!! It is so wonderful to know, that there are still professionals around who take pride in their work. I chose to have my daughter's engagement dinner here and from the moment I walked through the front door, (BEAUTIFUL I would like to add!) until the moment I left, we were treated like royalty and fed like kings. I am of Italian descent, live in NJ, grew-up in Brooklyn and come from a food family. The quality, taste and presentation of food is like none other! A special thank you to our WONDERFUL waiter Mo, who went above and beyond and made our special day, memorable and PERFECT!!!

Very good quality Italian food on the upper end of the price scale. Very nice interior and very helpful and informative staff. Meals are well size for a proper Italian filling and very tasty. I would definitely be eating here again when visiting Brooklyn.

Area is a little tough with parking, the restaurant offers valet service. You pay for that in more than just tips. Food was delicious but they did mess up on the steak by overcooking it and even on the second try. Service was great though. Its a little too dark there and I'd sit by the window next time.

the food is very good if you like sauces on every entre, octopus cooked to perfection(grilled} but like many restaurants they cook the shrimp too much.the noise is over the top

Maître d' constantly looked at our table and paced with his little reservation list waiting for us to get up so he could seat his regulars. He should have been more concerned that it was our first visit and making sure we were happy in stead of all of his inpatient pacing which made us all very comfortable. I have had better meals elsewhere. Their food leaves a lot to be desired. I would have preferred eating down the street at Embers where they know how to treat their guests and serve an excellent meal at a great value. I will never eat here again.

From the hot antipasta, to the pasta course to the veal cutlet Milanese the food was top notch. Vodka martinis also served perfectly chilled. Place as noted elsewhere was a little noisy but then again it was packed .... on a Thursday night. Will definitely return.

With the holiday weekend here we went out Sunday also Since many local restaurant weren't overly crowed. We pick a Regular ponte vecchio Had a great meal great wine great service never have a bad meal here. Seven for sat strikes again

Food here is very good and because of that it's crowded so it's also noisy. Went there on a Thursday night and it's hard to hear the conversation at the table. Price is on high side but so is quantity and if you're knowledgeable about Italian food you'll get top quality. A lot of people there were regulars, greeted warmly by the staff. But the service was excellent for all. They've redone the place and it looks great. Just wish they had put more sound baffles in or something.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Don't waste your money. STAY AWAY! We had a reservation for 4 for a birthday. Made the reservation weeks in advance. Ponte Vecchio, for those of you that don't know, is comprised of 2 rooms. The first, where you walk into the restaurant, had the bar and about 6 or 7 tables in the rear. The second room, which is larger, but not big at all is the main dining area. Apparently there was a surprise party that evening which was being held in the larger room and took up about 3/4 of the space. There were about 4 tables in the back that were not with the party and were separated by the doorway, and then there was us who were basically seated WITH THE PARTY! We were surrounded by partygoers yelling surprise, , getting up and greeting each other. IT WAS RIDICULOUS! Imagine there is a party room in a restaurant, and you were seated in that room with the party. That's basically what happened. When my mother went to speak with the old man playing maitre d, who had as much personality as the grim reaper, he said, "so what do you want? It's a Saturday night..." We asked to change our table into the other room because we literally could not hear anything anyone was saying. They refused to put two tables for us together. When we told them we would have to leave because we were uncomfortable and couldn't carry on a conversation, they arrogantly told us to go. Motioning as if they didn't care. This place is wildly overpriced. We dine out often and are ready willing and able to pay for a hefty price tag, but we want the quality and the the service that should come along with it. The food looked like crap and the service was even crappier. And you cannot carry on a conversation at all. STAY AWAY! Maybe if they got rid of the arrogant, cranky old man, there wouldn't be so many horrendous revues.

Great bartenders and wait staff food is excellent and nice atmosphere Always great specials and the menu is varied for all tastes l

The food, from the bread basket to the entree was all good. The wait staff was helpful and friendly. Easily accessed from the subway.

We received really friendly, professional and efficient service from the waiting staff during our family meal. We all had pasta and were all happy with the quality of food. Possibly on the expensive side for pasta but we very much enjoyed our meals and would happily return to enjoy the great atmosphere of this restaurant.

Love this restaurant. Amazing stuffed artichoke and veal scaloppini with eggplant, prosciutto and fontina cheese. Great atmosphere. We always would go with our 90 year old neighbor who took us for the first time. She loved it and ate her 3 to 4 times a week. We always had a great dinner and conversation over 2 to 3 hours. The best of times. The servers all knew her and owner always stopped by the table to chat. Can't go wrong having a elegant dinner here.

First time here…didn’t know there were specials cause we were never told of any. After ordering another table with a much more personable waiter offered them a wide variety of specials. Drinks flowed through the restaurant but not our table as our waiter felt it more important to chat up another table. Maybe they were friends or regulars but it was rude and I was thirsty :) and it was my birthday dinner out. Overall the food was good but the service was bad. Choice is now yours :$$

Food was basically good with a few flaws:over cooked shrimp. Service was well intentioned if nothing else. The real spoiler was the noise! People talking among friends always happens but they also have a sound track playing loudly so you have to practically scream to be heard. Not a place for a relaxing meal among friends.

This restaurant, hands down, is the best "upscale" restaurant in Bay Ridge. The food is top quality and service is impeccable. Our waiter couldn't do enough to please us. The place, though, is incredibly noisy (with cackling laughter and loud "do-do-do's") and the food, although top notch, is wildly overpriced. The crowds were consistently streaming in and the "dress code", which there isn't, provided an eclectic array of style. From middle aged men in untucked plaid shirts and jeans to sport jackets to backwards hat wearing 20-somethings was definitely comical to see streaming in. By all means, give it a try. Reviews on restaurants or whatever it may be that your reviewing, is the overall experience, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars...4 stars is being generous. To each his own...

I dined here as a child, brought dates there and now bring my children! Always a must go when I visit the old neighborhood. Please try the Ponte Vecchio Pasta!! Mention The Scotto's when your there. Enjoy

Grama loves this place, b/c they have a big Italian menu, but everything from the clam appetizer to the soggy vegatables were dripping in oil. The pasta we ordered al dents' was mushy & both the rack of lamb & filet mignon were ordered medium rare and delivered medium well. Great flavor, and we ate it b/c a waiter never returned to see if everything was fine. My arugula salad and sea bass were outstanding, though....the buffalo mozzarella appetizer was also excellent. We didn't want to make a fuss, because it would have upset granny.... But I would never go back there. The bill was $380 for 6 of us, with one $32 bottle of wine and 3 appetizers and four desserts & coffee. Warning! Regular coffee has sugar and they put whipped cream on cappuccino!

I have been a repeat customer for years. Started dining here way before its fabulous renovation and boy did it need it! Before the renovation the restaurant was pretty empty every night but the food was really good. After the major renovation you cant even get in to get a table! The food is pretty much the same with some add extras to the menu, its good Italian fare. I recommend highly the lobster Arriagiata, veal chop with hot peppers & mushrooms, their Sunday Sauce(only on Sundays),Seafood Salad, all their pasta dishes are excellent & they make a killer cappucino (do not order decaff)

I just took my office out for the holidays and was recommended to try this place. Boy were they right! The food was fantastic; everyone enjoyed the food very much. They had a special, fried zucchini flowers (my favorite) they were delicate and decadent! I had the Capellini San Paolo plus shrimp added. The sauce was nice and spicy and delicious. All the food was great. The place was decorated very Manhattan Chic. The service was very good; valet parking was a huge plus. Overall I would recommend this place and will be back.

Been here Many times always have a great meal and a great time it's a place where you could have a good time while you eat everybody's talking like a big family dinner even if I haven't been there for a while when you go back everybody says hello to you makes you feel real good One of my best favorite restaurants. In Brooklyn

This is a neighborhood gem that serves authentic Italian fare that puts it in a rank by itself. It’s on a busy street but they provide valet parking. The room is nicely decorated and tables have plenty of space between them. We had dinner on a recent Saturday evening and were seated promptly. Warm bread was brought to the table and water glasses were filled. My wife had the seafood salad and savored every morsel. I had a mixed salad. My wife opted for the bronzini entree which was brought to the table nicely fileted and with 2 vegetables; she loved it. I had the shrimp fra diavolo with cappelilni and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The sauce was nice and spicy but not crazy. I loved every bit of it. The decibel level was quite high as everyone seemed to be having a great time. Service was excellent throughout the meal. We finished with some sorbet and cappuccinos. The entire bill with drinks, tip and tax was about $150.

I enjoyed the service, decor and the food. This place does a good job and will not disappoint. A bit on the pricey side but not a rip off. Cons are it's noisy and they use to much salt. The waiter was real nice and I would go back for sure.

We've eaten here about 4 times. Some of the food has been excellent, other food, not so much. Best thing here is the filet with portobello mushrooms and wine sauce. Not much comes with it, just a drizzle of mashed potato and vegetable, but it's a twin filet, and they do pay attention when you like your filet to walk off the plate almost raw. The wine sauce is absolutely awesome, and the mushrooms are savory. The filet is high quality, soft and delicious. This is the only thing I'd order if I go back again. It's very pricy to eat here, so I don't like to go that often. I've had veal parm here too, it was good, I have to say their shrimp parm was awful though. The shrimps were mushy and unimpressive. felt nauseous with indigestion after having it. Shrimp cocktail is done well here. Baked clams are good, but extremely small and not worth the money. The burrata is good, I did not like their Caesar salad, it tasted very greasy.. First time we came we got to meet the owner, Rino, who was thrilled to be recognized from Real Housewives of New Jersey. He even asked us if we wanted a picture with him. They don't seem to be on this season, so I guess that extra attraction for the restaurant has come to an end. The best server here is Pat, he's so charming and personable. What a doll! He makes the meal a delight. Other servers here are some who seem to barely speak English. We had one who we could not even understand. He did not do much, and then there are too many lackeys running around and hovering, that make you feel like you need to tip more than your waiter, which runs into extra money. The atmosphere is going for elegant and minimalist I suppose. I don't really find the decor too inviting. It's kind of stark, with plain walls that give the place a cold feel. No warmth or atmosphere and feels kind of like you're eating in someone's living room, rather than a restaurant. They have one single bathroom for the whole place, which is immaculate and again, seems like a bathroom in a private house. Very nice and elegantly equipped. Hopefully no one stays in too long, including yourself. As always, with a private bathroom, single stall, there's no time to waste. This is one of the pricier high end places in Bay Ridge, worth a trip, especially if you love a good filet. Theirs is better than most filet mignon dishes you'd get, in places that are strictly steakhouses.

The title says it all. We met friends at Ponte Vecchio at their suggestion during a recent visit. It was a Saturday night and we had reservations for 6PM. We were seated promptly and ordered a wine from the list which was priced quite high for a domestic cabernet. The waiter seemed a bit in a rush as he took our order and based on our friend's advice we ordered specials as we understand the place has become the local rage since a long time Chef favorite at Areo has left to join them. Disappointment after disappointment. My grilled Calamari portion was small and had little flavor to it. My wife's mussels in red sauce were utterly bland. My black linguini with seafood was not up to par as although there were shrimp and calamari on top, the pasta was mercilessly overcooked. My wife's halibut was also overcooked and dry, although the broccoli rabe was good. Out friends had similar comments on their dinners also. The place then became a madhouse as the room filled up and the noise level increased to the point of not being able to hear one another. The waiting crowd at the bar grew and the Manager kept looking over each table and urging the waiters to get a rush on. Everyone seemed tense and we could see and hear arguments coming from waiting patrons with staff. Finally we paid a very high bill and tried to get out the door. This was almost impossible as I had to go ahead of my wife and friends to make a path through two rows of people waiting to be seated at the bar and another two rows behind them against the wall. The entry way was also full of waiting people and the line stretched back out the door onto Fourth Avenue. Lines of cars were backed up on the street waiting for valet parking. In all the food was disappointing as was the service. This place is certainly popular although I don't see why.

I hosted a baby shower this past weekend at Ponte Vecchio and this restaurant was incredible. From the moment I walked in the service was spot on. I've walked into many restaurants that offer to help you out with anything you need, but very few actually deliver. Ponte Vecchio's staff was amazing. Our waiters Patrick and Nelson were right there right when we needed them. We had over 30 people for the shower and the service, timing of the food and the food itself was outstanding. We had an array of appetizers from tomato and mozzarella, calamari, baked clams, to 3 different pasta entrees, mixed salad, chicken, veal chop and salmon. Everything was delicious! There was not one dish that was better than the other. Everything was so good. I will not hesitate to come back here for a meal with a smaller group of people. If they can handle a group of 30 they can handle anyone. My only wish was that I had actually finished my pasta dish. Guess I'll have to go back!

My husband and I along with another couple went to the newly renovated, newly managed Ponte Vecchio. The decor, the bar area, the main dining room, the food, selection and service was unsurpassed. Totally updated, modern and fresh. Great bar scene. We waited a little while for our table even though we had a reservation. it was fine because we were able to enjoy pre-dinner drinks, sitting at the beautiful banquettes they have adjacent tot he bar. This restaurant is so beautifully and tastefully decorated you cant help but continue to look around.( People watching was great too) Our table was soon ready and we sat in the second room away from the bar crowd. It was quieter. Our waiter was attentive and very knowledgable of menu items, wines etc. The owners came to check and make sure we were pleased with the service and food. They even sent us a complimentary drink! Our meal consisted of appetizers: fresh clams, oysters and shrimp. They were all served to perfection, ice cold and fresh. Soft shell crab was unbelievableMain course: chilean sea bass, gnocchi and rack of lamb.My husband had a steak (of all things in an italian restaurant), and it was unbelievable! Veal spedini and fried calamari were amazing as well. The calamari was not gressy but firm and crisp. Understandably, we had no room for dessert but enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar. This establishment, serves the finest, freshest food. It is presented beautifully and the dishes are full plates! Hearty portions !! The service was wonderful, attentive and we were never rushed. We were made to feel appreciated and welcome. Couple that with amazing food and atmosphere and you have yourself a winning dining experience! We will be back again, and again. Valet parking is an added plus!

Visited this place last night (four adults and two kids!) waited 45 minutes (being pushed from pillar to post) for the table (booked in advance) to be available. In Europe we would call this place a noisy bar that serves some food, not a restaurant. You could not hear anyone talking because of, not only the other diners, but a large screen TV (on loud in the eating area) showing a football match.! Meal was ok, but the noise and waiting really put me off. I wanted to discreetly pay the bill, so approached the waiter on the way to the restrooms and asked for the check. The bill was $375 and I gave him $420. He walked after me and said it was not right, the tip should be $75 ?? If I'd not been with friends I wouldn't have left a tip at all, but to save any embarrassment I paid the balance. I think the idea of paying a 20% tip for bad service coupled with a mediocre meal, is silly!! I have no problem with showing appreciation for something by tipping, but guys this is not right, it's just a 20% increase in the price, no matter what the food or service is like 😞 cop on,! this is out of hand .!!!! Won't be going here again.!

This place doesn't just serve food - they serve the best of a beautiful country on your plate for you to enjoy! The food is absolutely amazing! Authentic and delicious in every way - you will think you're in Italy! The service is fantastic - we felt like we were the only people in the restaurant and were waited on hand and foot. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. An amazing food experience that you owe your taste buds to try!

We had a very disappointing visit to Ponte Vecchio recently. After spending $200 on lunch, we wondered why we came. First we entered and one of the owners seated us. He greeted us with a scowl on his face, not the slightest hint that he was happy to have us patronize his establishment. He sat us at a table for four in the dining room, where there was a party taking place. We were away from the bustle, so that was ok. We had Pat, who I've complimented before, but this time he wasn't compliment worthy at all. He wasn't very attentive, didn't care that we asked for him, which makes him look great to his sourpuss boss who greeted us, and barely seemed to know us. He gave us the barest attention considering we requested him, and we only saw him for the times he bought out food. Otherwise he passed us by without a glance. To start I had the burrata, that was good. We also got grilled octopus and fried calamari, which was average. The shrimp cocktail this time was ridiculous though. It consisted of four small shrimp and was $17! I found that outrageously priced for four little shrimps! I got the filet with mushrooms and that was very good, but the sauce didn't have as much flavor as I recall, and seemed somehow a watered down version that was thinner and not as tasty as it has been in the past. It comes with a drip of mashed potatoes and some undercooked broccoli that wasn't too tasty. Chicken Parm was decent and nothing outstanding, with spaghetti that was far too al dente. Pat said he would bring an extra side, don't worry, then never did. Then Mr. Sourpuss smile-less owner just comes over with two dessert menus that we said "no thanks" to. He didn't even ask us "would you like some dessert" while he gave us that same lovely scowl as he handed us the menus we didn't ask for. Despite turning down the menu, when Pat finally got around to checking back on us and giving us the check, he overcharged us for two tarfuto we never had! An extra $20 tagged casually onto the bill. How does one make this mistake? It wasn't THAT crowded! When Pat was told about the overcharge, he grabbed the bill back as he kept walking without stopping, didn't offer any apology and muttered "wrong table" which made no sense. Did someone else there make the exact same order we did? First the owner tries to intimidate us into ordering dessert, and then we get charged for TWO desserts we never ordered? Besides all that, I used the bathroom twice, and there was no toilet paper either time! I guess no one bothers to check this, and customers should not have to tell them. This is a noisy place that reminds me of a living room more than a restaurant. There really is no decor here at all. Walls are barren, giving it a cold stark feeling and this is what makes it so noisy when crowded. Nothing to soundproof the place. It's a big empty room divided in half. For what you get here, it is not worth it. We won't be back too soon.

WE WENT THERE for Valentine's day dinner and really had a wonderfull expirience. The food was delicious, wine was excellent and very reasonably priced and service was excellent as well. The place is always busy and a bit loud, but the food is delicious. It is on the pricey side ,but it is worth it,if you want to have delicious meal accompanied by excellent wine.

This review is by a foreigner so Brooklynites may want to skip it. The restaurant is somewhat schizophrenic. It has claims to fine dinning with a nice décor and waiters with white shirts and black vests but then it has a bar with two large TVs with sports programs on. This would never happen in my country. In keeping with this people arrive in suites and jeans (not together), Many people seem to be locals and there is much hugging with the waiters. (In my country we occasionally, but rarely huge waiters. We occasionally hug really exceptional chiefs,) There is a definite Brooklyn Italian interaction but at least two of the waiters are Egyptian. Service can be spotty but it is very friendly and the waiters like to kibbutz (a word I picked up in Brooklyn). As another reviewer indicates the part of the restaurant were the bar is located is thunderously loud (this occasionally happens in my country due to bad acoustics inherited from previous colonizers). There is a part of the restaurant separated from the bar. Eat here. Prices are at least 30% higher than in my country. We pay the prices they have at this place but for much better food and they would take away the TVs. You pay less if you want TVs. Go figure? Parking in this neighborhood is non-existent. The good news is they have valet parking. My country has narrow colonial streets and I thought the parking was bad but Brooklyn is much worse. People even triple park. Why do you have cars? The food is good. There are different types of pasta than the ones we use. I had a fish dish with bow ties and portions are acceptable. All diners seem to have broccoli rabe. The food has a nice rich taste from a liberal use of oil. It is not as innovative as you find in my country but we also have very traditional old fashioned southern Italian and Sicilian places with red sauce (we call it "red gravy"). Desserts are large and traditional such as tartufo and cannoli (My country is legendary for our cannoli). Oh! and my country is Philadelphia. You may know it as Philly.

We went here with three couples and were not disappointed. I had the mushrooms apptizer that had breadcrumbs and cheeses in a cream sauce. The other couples had the antopasto and salads. Some of the main coures were seafood ravioli, squid ink pasta, pasta wir brocolli rabe abd sausage, fruit de mare and others all very good. The service was excellent and very attentive.Highly recommended.

We had a business lunch with a group of 8 the service was terrific as was the food. The wait staff was very attentive. I will definitely return when I am in the area.
Horrible service & mediocre food
Horrible service and mediocre food. I walked in for my daughters birthday and was seated right away, however the waiter was among the missing for the first 25 minutes and we had to call him over to the table multiple times before he finally took our order. He never came back to ask how our food was after another waiter brought us our food. The food was okay but I was not impressed, as there are tons of other Italian restaurants in the Bay Ridge area that are less expensive, have better service and much better food. Will never come back here.
