It's off the typical Portland tourist path, but it's a must if you're in the area. There are several food trucks with a pretty big variety, and there's a market inside with more seating. The food was delicious, with big portions for good prices. We got fish, fried plantains, churros, burritos, and Cuban sandwiches - all were great.

Shaded tables and adequate parking brought us to this much-anticipated food cart pod on a warm night recently. Had read great reviews of the food, so gathered a group of 6 and drove over to try as many things as we could... Highlights: Mixteca's tamales big enough for 2, Tierra Del Sol's tlayuda - huge!, the torta and the Los Alambres plate at Los Alambres Dos (my fave). Can't wait to try the mole' at Mixteca and the Cubano at El Gata Tuerto. Next time!

This place is so fun! We tried out 5 Volcanes (Salvadorian food). Excellent. Bought super-fruit snowcones, visited the candy store. All in all a treat and a fun afternoon adventure. I say GO!!!

This play is great, I have been walking here and found myself there multiple times a week. Just look out it seems like half the carts are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

I went with my family and young cousins. There was something for everybody! I ate at the Haitian food stand and it was delicious. I had a sorrel ginger drink (kind of like juice or ice tea) which was great, and some really yummy pea soup. The person in the truck was really nice and friendly. 10/10 would go there again.

Little bit of variety of just about every Latino cuisine on the planet. Cuban, Puerto Rican, Columbian, Peruvian, Mexican ... you get the idea. Unfortunately, we got there a little late and most of them are closed early even though they said they would be open till 8 p.m. it's always kind of irks me but, I guess they wanted to get home. The guy with the Colombian food truck was still able to serve his empanadas which is what I came for to begin with albeit, I wanted Peruvian empanadas. The Colombian empanadas we had had a generous portion of either chicken beef or cheese stuffed inside a shell made of cornmeal then deep-fried. They were indeed tasty however nothing to write home about. The stuffing didn't have any particular Nuance or redeeming factor to him. However, you got to remember it's a food truck and the food was certainly acceptable. High rated this one based on comparisons to other food trucks in the area. There are some better and some worse. This guy fell right in the middle

A special festival was in full swing when I visited the Mercado last Saturday. I tasted food from three carts –Puerto Rican, Mexican and a local school. They had dancers and bands from several Latin groups. I enjoyed the Peruvian dancers the best. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

From the minute you get out of you car, the amazing aroma of spices catch your senses. There's so much to choose from in this pod of Latin American foods. We chose Columbian fare and were not disappointed. Everything was so delicious and the atmosphere was fun and enjoyable. We will definitely be returning!

A nice assortment of food trucks from different central and south American cultures. Several trucks have vegan options; we enjoyed a tamale dish and a burrito. Would love to return sometime to sample other options.

I travel extensively and have never experienced a place like the Portland Mercado. About 10 Latin focused food carts. We're not talking about typical burritos here. Authentic and amazing. Even better, you can take your food inside to the Barro bar and enjoy local beer and wine. Chris at the bar is incredibly friendly, and will make you feel at home. If you are in Portland, this is a must-see experience.

There are food carts outside and you can take the food inside to eat if it’s cold. Inside there are additional shops and restaurants. I enjoyed exploring the shops and food options. I eventually chose a Puerto Rican cart. The food was alright, but they had really unique options I haven’t seen anywhere else and it was fun to be adventurous. Churro cart was good.

Wonderful assortment of Latino food. Tried the puerto Rican, Columbian and Mexican. The best was from the Columbian bakery a turnover with cream cheese and guava. Going back for the single sourced Nicaragua coffee sent from the farn straight to the coffee shop. They also have a full service butcher.

My husband and I were in Portland for a weekend getaway! I wanted to try the food cart experience and put the address of a cart I'd heard of in the nav. Unfortunately, it was closed for a special event, but we passed Portland Mercado on the way and turned back to give it a try! So glad we did! Great Latin food options! Hubby got a cuban sandwich and I got pork mofongo. Really tasty and a great initiation into the food cart scene!

Mercado was celebrating 1 year Anniversary.. We arrived early Website said Opens at 10am we arrive and area looked wonderful... However, Only 1 of the Food Trucks was open. We waited until 10:30am.. Decided to leave we were not happy... We will return because we want to experience different foods. Cuban, Columbia. And Mexican...

We loved the Mercado! The food at the Oaxacan cart was especially good! We had the pizza and tacos which had great flavor! The aguas were so refreshing! We will be returning!

This place was amazing. Food and staff were great! We were looking for authentic and found it in this place. The Colombian food was perfect!

We took our son & grandkids for dinner. We all got to have some thing different plus dessert. Also, had a great Michelada at the bar. Will definitely go back!!!

My favorite is Mextica Tamale Trailer. I love their chicken tomatillo tamales with their fresh salsa on top!!! Covered area in sun or rain, dress for out doors dining. Many choices of dining from $3 to $12. The Barrio opens in afternoon, if you need a cold beer to go with it!!! Many locals, families, close by workers, neighbors, and those interested in great food!!

Loved this place, tried the Colombian truck with arepas rellena con cerdo, delicious! and patacones ( these could have been a bit crispier but great taste) there are several trucks to choose from, the only reason I dont give an excellent is bcz finding a spot to sit and eat is tricky... but I guess part of the experience.. Wish I could have had time to try other trucks.

the place has about 10 food cars serving different types of food, so there is a lot of variety ! there are tables to sit and a very clean restrooms. it is worth to visit !!! the food is really good ! my mom had one of the vegetarian burritos and she said that it was amazing, my kids had the carnitas one.

Went to the columbian and one of the Mexican carts, both had amazing food for good prices! I would Definitely recommend it!!

We were looking forward to having lunch here on Tuesday and arrived about 12:30. Half of the places were closed! Decided to have lunch elsewhere. Wonder what is going on here and it will be a long time before we take another look

We heard there were 3 Colombian restaurants in Portland so we got EXTREMELY excited. We did come on Tuesday, the only day Que Bacano was closed and all the others were open. So, we ate the Cuban food. It was good, no complaints and not a waste of money, but a little acidy. In the morning we came back to get some Colombian grub before hitting the road up to Seattle, and we bought Arroz Atollado and 3 almojabanas. SO delicious. Literally a huge value for what you pay and totally worth it. I can attest that their platanos are also delicious just by the look of them and you can`t go wrong with corn empanadas and yucca frita (like a french fry, but WAY better).

I love this place... I would highly recommend it. In fact, I can't stop eating here... It's become a staple.

This is my favorite part about visiting a big city - finding pockets of culture, nestling into places that feel like their own world that make the city feel small. Choose from food carts serving Peruvian, Oaxacan, Costa Rican, Mexican, Mayan, others. All that we tried was delicious. Even if the unique seasonings aren’t your thing, it’s a fun experience.

Great job guys! Clean place, nice shelter, great combination of products and foods carts. The food is awesome and so many different options of food and products from latin america. :)

At the Portland Mercado there are many food trucks lined up with Latino menus. However this one caught our eye and was also recommended by a friend. Mixteca serves traditional tamales with mole sauce. The tamales are steamed in a banana leaf and served with that delicious dark chili chocolate sauce called Mole from Oaxaca Mexico. Sit outside at the Bario, and get a tap beer of your choice. Delicioso!

Portland Mercado is a really nice outdoor area with a huge variety of Latin American food available at the various food carts. It's not just meals and drinks, either. If you're there, you should also check out the market building, where there's a grocer, a butcher and even a sweet shop.

This Market has 8 Latin food trucks. They are amazing and authentic. Everything is fresh and delicious. We ate @ 2 of the food carts this trip. ! was TIERRA DEL SOL OAXACAN I would highly recommend the tacos here they are delicious. So fresh and so good. Then one of the other people in our group had QUÉ BACANO. She is Colombian and this food is Colombian and she said that it is the closest to true Colombian food she has had outside of Columbia. It all looked good. There is also Argentinian, el salvadorian nicaraguan, cuban all sorts of latino foods. Inside they have a market with authentic latino candies and fresh meat and a bar.

Each of the many carts here specializes in a different regional cuisine so it never gets old coming here and the prices are reasonable. You can stop by the meat shop or Latin market to grab some stuff to make at home.
Food trucks with picnic table seating
Good range of food from Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Central America. Moderate prices. Picnic tables under a tall roof. Drinks, meat, cheese, food ingredients in store fronts and market right by food carts. Cheerful open feel to the picnic space.
