If you want a small local place with great food and service on the waterfront be sure to check them out, The happy hour menu is great and service is excellent. Nice tables outside or pub style inside makes it extra nice. Walking distance from the Marriott Residence in or any downtown hotel. The streetcare goes right by it only a half block. Great prices and friendly staff. Minors are welcome and pets are ok outside. This is a great place if you want to get away from the chain type venues. The Bacon Blue Cheese burger is a must....oyster shooters always fresh...the owner Jon, is usually there and will make sure you leave with a smile. Tell them aj sent you.

We always end up co,oh my god to,this place for at least happy hour while in town. The staff treats u like a patron at 'cheers'. They seem to remember everyone! The happy hour food is quite decent! Drinks are cheap

My husband and I were in Portland for a convention and stayed in a hotel in walking distance of this sports bar. We sat outside (more folks were outside than inside) and expected to order typical bar food. We were surprised at their menu and even more surprised when the food arrived. I ordered a shrimp louie salad - a huge green salad - on top of it were baby shrimp, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes and 2 hard boiled eggs - served with Russian dressing. Never expected a salad like this at a sports bar. My husband enjoyed their rose city burger which he said was cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and great despite it being a busy night. Would definitely recommend.

I often take my visitors to happy hour at the Portland Sports Bar and Grill. We can sit at a table outside--if we're lucky enough to find a table. The location is lovely, at South Waterfront Park and Riverplace Marina, with views of bridges and the Willamette River, and on the Riverplace Promenade lined with bars and restaurants. Happy hour is fantastic, in my opinion, because of the oyster shooters. Oyster lovers can feast on huge, juicy oysters at a great price. The happy hour menu offers many other dishes and cocktails, including $5 martinis! Food at PSBG is generally quite good and reasonably priced. It's not just bar food. Service is always cheerful and fast.

Ate here because it was near the hotel and was close. Was happy enough to go a second time. Reasonable prices, friendly service, outdoor seating, good food

So after having a long day, this is the spot to hit up after the grind hours of Portlandia. The staff is super friendly & helpful on suggestions for drinks & food. I was very pleased with the crab cakes & beer selections. I have been back more than once for my travels. It's walking distance to the Hyatt House as well- so that was helpful! The prices are SO reasonable compared to other places I ate in town. Plus you get the bang for your buck for food with a wide variety of choices. It will not disappoint.

I had lunch there before i had to catch my flight. I really enjoyed the bar and the outside seating was a really cool factor to the sports bar. The owner Jon was the server as well as the bartender and cocktail server for the outside tables. I had the Garlic and Parmesan Chicken that was really good and it came with 2 sides..i got a side salad and sautéed veggies. I liked the fact that it wasn't a chain sports bar or chain restaurant. It was a real locals spot! the only negative was the bottles of mixers he had stuck in the same ice that he was serving the drinks with. Other then that a really cool place to hangout and really good food and very inexpensive for what you get. I will definitely be back. It was a short scenic walk along the waterfront from The Marriott.

Small area for eating inside. Bar had about 6 stools. Nice area on the patio if the weather is good. Went in to watch a game, 3 TVs that I noticed. Waitresses were busy and friendly. Bartender (owner?) was ok. Seem to be several regulars. Happy Hour pricing was good.

Just adjacent to the waterfront near Hyatt house hotel. A nice little bar with outdoor seating available. Neighborhood feel, with pleasant, prompt service. reasonable prices, happy hour from 3-6 every day. Rose city burger (Cheeseburger with egg) fairly good. Several Tv's for variety of viewing options for multiple games. A nice little spot if you are in the area.

The service in this small waterfront pub was excellent, the food was very good and the price was reasonable.

Great food & service! Cannot beat the views, especially in the summertime sitting on the patio! Peanut Butter Burger is a great choice. Sounds weird but the flavor is great!

Stopped here on the way to the hotel. Ended up eating, they had a pretty good happy hour menu for food and drinks. Food and service were top notch

Nice little out-of-the-way place to eat. Not a typical sports bar, and rather small, but it has delicious well-prepared food served by friendly, efficient staff. Nice patio area to enjoy a cocktail near the river, or sit inside and watch the game. My only complaint: For some reason, this place plays the worst music ever. Terribly bad. Just turn up the volume on one of the games, or turn on some good rock/blues. Last time I was there it sounded like Joy Division murdering Bjork.

The food here is truly gourmet and absolutely excellent. The restaurant is on the top floor of the building and has a fab panoramic view of Portland. Even saw Mount Hood that day. The reason for four stars is that the restaurant is so popular it is incredibly crowded, had to wait for a seat and the noise level is pretty intense. And $$$. If you can afford it, it is a great experience.

Stopped for a quick take out lunch order. Staff was friendly and food was average. Got the gyro, had to pay $2 extra for the feta cheese (who charges extra for feta on a gyro) and was charged extra for a “to-go” order. Not too sure of the logic behind that but it kind of felt like a “shake down” when I got the bill. I’m sure I’ll stop there again.

Went to Portland Sports Bar and Grill due to very close to our hotel. Sat outside which was nice, however had a DJ playing so was hard to talk due to music was loud. I had there PSBG original cheeseburger. It was nothing special in fact burger was over cooked and dried out. The Parmesan fries were pretty good and did enjoy those.

nice outdoor seating and a great place to watch a game. Food is average sports bar, but the staff are fantastic.

We visited twice during our stay in Portland. The food and drinks were great. They street tacos and Gyros are to die for as are the steak bites. The Bloody Mary’s were spicy and loaded with bacon and all the extras. You have the choice to sit outside, which we did, or inside. The view is amazing and you can see the river and all the boats. We’ll definitely be back next visit to Portland!

The happy hour prices are great, and the outdoor seating is lovely. My Ninkasi was not very cold. The music from the loudspeaker (loud) KGON detracted from the lovely scenery. Listening to loud commercials while one eats is no fun.

This wasn't what I was expecting for a sports bar. It's pretty dark with black table tops and black curtains in the back. It's also small. We were looking for a place to have an early lunch along the River Walk before we caught a plane home, so this was very convenient at 11 a.m. on a Sunday. The food was good - grilled cheese and chili (which got spicier the more you ate). Don't know where one reviewer got the panoramic view. This was not on the top floor of a building, but on the ground floor.

This is going to be out waterfull experience, as it is on the banks of the river, You can take your boats and have lunch/dinner and ducks come near you. while you have your food

Happened upon this friendly place as we were walking around the Waterfront Park on a sunny July day. Stopped for lunch and were warmly welcomed and shown to a sidewalk table. Lebanese iced tea was a surprise. Burgers, garlic fries, and pulled pork sandwich were all just right. Service very friendly. Nice place to stop if you're touring the southern reaches of the park.

This place was a short walk from our hotel. I was so tired and just happy to have a place to relax and have dinner. To our surprise, this little place had a very good hummus/veggie appetizer and one of the best glasses of Malbec I've tasted. The burger was also a hit -- hot, juicy and messy! If anyone can tell me the brand name of the Malbec I will be grateful. I'd love to try and find it.

I'm not one to ever eat at a sports bar, but I was surprised at the diverse menu and availability of diet-friendly food (Gf, v, df, etc.). I had the blackened Salmon and it was the best I've had out in a really long time! Great food and prices. Thank you!

The bottom line for this grill is that it is very adequate for a small sports bar. The food was fine and service very good. Overall a nice place for a quick bite along the waterfront. One word of warning, the music inside was very loud so conversation was difficult. Ironically, outdoor seating was very smoky which led us to eat inside.

Great place to stop for a beer or to have dinner. My Cobb salad was excellent and my husband's cheeseburger was cooked to perfection. The fries were good but way too many of them. The beers were good. I love a local and this IPA was very good. Service was super. We'd go back.

We had walked upriver from the Burnside bridge and needed a tall cool one. 2 ice cold beers, hummus, tater tots later we were happy and still sitting under the umbrellas outside. The waitress was good-humor end despite being slammed by all the folks arriving from the Mermaid Parade. Nice day

Best place in town. I come often to Portland for business and this is usually the place we like to hang out after work. Super good service and the quality of the food is outstanding.

This is a nice sidewalk restaurant, and the Philly is excellent. Next time we are in Portland, we will surely have lunch there.

Overall, I was quite pleased here The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. My food tasted good, but there were so many toppings on my burger that it really overpowered the beef. Either larger patties or fewer toppings would have improved the burger. Otherwise, no complaints and I am likely to return next time that I'm in the area.

Stayed at the RiverPlace Hotel and wandered down here for drinks one afternoon. It's a hole in the wall place that smells of grease/deep fried food. However there is outdoor seating for nice days. We had a couple drinks which were good. Happy hour prices are comparable to other bars. If we are in the area again we will be back.

This is a great place with a view of the river and reasonably priced food and drink. We happened to get there during happy hour - what a deal! And the service was excellent.

A small place, reasonable selection of beers, music and TVs always going. Nothing fancy, but good for a beer.

Was staying at the nearby Residence Inn, and decided to grab a quick dinner. At first was surprised how small the inside is, but it's a very cozy and friendly atmosphere. It was early on a Saturday with wet cold weather outside and not too busy inside. Our server was prompt, friendly and helpful. I had the 5 cheese bacon Mac and it was delicious. My friend had the grilled cheese which was also very good. Overall a very good meal, and a bit of a surprise find. Would definitely go back again in the future when visiting.

Came here for the first time on Thursday 2021-12-16 on a first date. It was 3:30pm in the afternoon, so there were only a few patrons at the time taking advantage of Happy Hour. Parking also was relatively easy to find at this time. My first impression was that this was a typical pub/bar with nothing special to look at as far as ambience. It is relatively small, and it felt a little cramped. I even had to move a stack of high-chairs a little bit just to increase space around my table. Customer service was great, as the servers checked on me/us frequently. What impressed me the most was the food. Initially, I just had the Baja Fish Tacos, and my date had the Guac and Chips. The fish tacos were average and a little skimpy on the fish. The guacamole in the Guac and Chips was delicious. Once my date left, I ordered the Buffalo Wings as well as the Asiago Cheese Garlic Fries. Both of these were fantastic! I did not even dip the wings once in the provided sauce. There was a beer selection of about 3, along with 2 rotating taps. Fortunately, I enjoyed one of the rotating taps. My date had ordered a cocktail, and it was delicious. There is a single bathroom, and it was clean and well stocked of supplies. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars is because of the view, or lack of it. The pub is situated with a potentially nice view of the Willamette. But, the windows are blocked by shelves full of ingredients and other restaurant supplies. In between jars I can see boats passing by, which would have been nicer to look at than the jars. I can almost hear Robert Irvine screaming about this! Fortunately, my date went well, and we likely will come back to this same place some time soon. :-)

We LOVE this place! We come here every weekend after our runs with our dogs. We are enthralled with the outdoor dining opportunities with open air tents and the lamps above our tables. We always start with a drink whether it be a beer, cider or bloody Mary and a starter of Cajun tots! The Cajun tots are a must have!! I usually out for one of their burgers or the grilled cheese both are unique, flavorful and incredibly satisfying. My gluten-free friends tend to opt for the chicken curry which is uniquely flavorful and plentiful. For all of these, the side dishes are delicious and filling. Their soup of the day is always amazing so make sure it satisfies your craving of the day. Cole is always available to offer incredibly friendly and efficient service even in the busiest of times. Support local restaurants!

In town for business with colleagues. I frequently visit Portland throughout the year from Michigan. We decided to dine at the bar. We all ordered normal bar food (burgers, wraps & beer). Nothing out of the ordinary. 1. Wait staff was nice. 2. I sat under a ceiling pipe that dripped 3. All 6 of my colleagues were served 1st 4. I had to wait a considerable time (an extra 20 min or so) for the Rose Burger (grill burger w/ egg). 5. The Food was good. Will I visit this place again? Maybe. Do I recommend? I Don’t know. Too many other really good other bars in Portland to bother. I hope that helps. Black Businessman

Superb salads at reasonable prices. Service was just as excellent as the food. Outdoor dining with excellent view of the river.

We had a drink prior to boarding the brew bardge (which is next door to this establishment) as we had a big group meeting there. I realized I had left my sunglasses on an outside table. I decided to call to see if my sunglasses were turned in. When I called, I explained I had left my sunglasses on a table out side. Her response was, "I'm too F%@# busy right now to look for your sunglasses and they aren't here and hung up the phone in my ear. I was so upset that I called back and spoke to the bartender. I told him my phone encounter with one of his co-workers and he didn't seem upset or think what had happened was wrong. I proceeded to tell him that I would be writing a Yelp review. His response, "Was the service good while you were here?" He repeated this several times as that is all he cared about. He didn't care that one of his co-worker had been absolutely inappropriate. There are so many ways she could have responded that would have been better. The phone etiquette was appalling and I can't believe a business talks to their patrons like this. Absolutely unacceptable in my book. I don't know who says this is the best Happy Hour in Portland as there are some very unhappy people working there.

Top service, delicious food. I have nothing but compliments for thus place. It was a rainy evening and this lovely little place saved my trip to Portland. High recommendations.

We were staying at Hyatt Place and this is the closest bar outside of the hotel. They have a good Happy Hour where draft beers are only $4.25. The food is priced online with most Portland food and is quite tasty. The one bad thing I have to say is that the rib eye special, although tasty was over cooked and quite fatty.

Enjoyed my lunch at the Sports Bar and Grill. Good food and beer. Quick service. Would eat here again.

Steak bites, margarita and a beer great place to chill! Service, food and people watching...awesome!

Very close to Kimpton Riverplace and happy hour around 3:30 was a nice surprise. He had fish and chips and I had happy hour fish tacos with cup of chicken gumbo which was just okay, but I snagged some of his fries. Bartender/server came to table for order and was very pleasant to us.

We stopped in here for lunch while visiting Portland for a couple days. The food and service were very good. We would return if in the area again.

Good food at an affordable price. We ate outside while watching a baseball game. Blackened salmon and city chicken entrees with $7 featured drinks and the bill was less than 50$ with a 20 percent tip. Not your typical too noisy sports bar when sitting outside on a pleasant night.

The PSB&G is a really welcoming, comfortable, casual restaurant that just makes you feel at home instantly. The highlight is the friendliness and professionalism of the staff -- Kendra, Lori, and Emily are the servers who made our dinners and evening drinks special. They made us feel very welcome, as if we'd been regulars for several years. We really enjoyed the ambiance and the comfortable feeling there. It's across from the Riverplace hotel and at the circle where the short riverwalk path starts. There are very few restaurants along this path, and those that are there are pretentious, expensive, and close ridiculously early (8:15 - 9 pm if you are lucky to find any that actually stay open as "late" as 9 pm even though their signage will say 10 pm). The PBS&G is open until 11 and serves food until 10 pm. It's standard pub fare and then some extra special and really good options that we were surprised to find, such as cold plain bay shrimp in a martini glass which was amazingly sweet and wonderful. We went there several times in the long weekend we were in Portland and really loved it. Thanks to Kendra, Lori, and Emily who are A+ professionals - service was quick, accurate, and polite.

Excellent ambience, excellent service. Good value for money. Good food. Great tunes as well. Thoroughly recommended

Cheap $1 tacos similar to Taco Bell quality and drinks were okay. Ambience is low key and the place is daily small. It is a short walk from the Residence Inn so we walked here.

Oyster shooters were great. My son couldn't bring himself to try it so I got to have two. The blue cheese burger was fantastic.

I stopped here for a couple of tasty beverages while I walked down the Willamette River. It had outdoor seating. Cool atmosphere, nice view of the river. I only had the beer so I can't speak of the food. The waitress was friendly.

We went here because it was close to our hotel. We were surprised, it was a small place, doesn’t look like much, but the food was excellent. The service was really good too. We ate outside and really enjoyed it. Price was good as well.

Crappy food, crappy service, what sort of place calls itself a sports bar with only 2 tvs? When we asked if they could change the channel from two out of state teams playing to one of our instate schools they said no. Stay away

This place is a Must visit the Food is unreal, double burgers are something else, quality selection of beer 🍻

If you want a great sandwich or meal and are in the moodfor a casual environment then this is the place Plenty of outdoor seating and a new air filteration system makes it a Portland favorite. Jon, the owner, is a Portland local and works there most days···· Say hi to Joel on Weds.... He runs a tight lunchtime service... You wont be sorry...

My colleagues and I ate here several times during our stay in Portland -- the staff are very polite and the food is delicious with a great price (savings in the pocket book), and a great walk along the waterfront.

PSBG is very much like McDonald's. The food is uniformly good no matter what you order and no matter when you visit. It's also value pricing. You'd easily pay twice for the same item at most other restaurants in the city. The staff are some of the friendliest you'll ever find. I've been coming here for nearly 10 years and have never been disappointed.

Very tiny and not what I was expecting. Friendly staff, but I would not return. I love sports bars, but this place was lacking.

Nice casual area with limited inside seating but lots of tables outside. Server was excellent, food was good and prices reasonable. An ideal neighborhood bar.

My wife and I tried to visit one afternoon. The place was empty inside, we both have bad backs so we sat in an area where we did not have to both sit on hard chairs which irritate our backs, sometimes making it so bad I can barely walk, opting for the more comfortable booths. The first thing we experienced is the overweight hostess lady rudely waving at us after we sat down and said "guys, guys, come on, come on! you can't sit there! Come on, let's go, now!" After the shock of being treated like that in an empty place we both just stood up, I told the lady we are leaving. The lady could not careless that they lost two customers (potential regulars) and just said "ok, goodbye" to us as we left. Will never return to this hole. Rude and unnecessary. Many other options nearby and we found one and were treated with respect and consideration. When the owner reads a review he doesnt like, AKA the truth, he lies and bullies his customers. Acts like you are doing him a favor by visiting his dump. Stay away.
what it says on the tin
not bad, food average they do a very hot chilli burger, not sure why they put beef burger with pulled pork. not a bad selection of beer, but they is better near buy
