Delicious Pies (meat)

By Jstewauto |

Been here a few times. In fact, whenever I am in Seattle I make a point to stop in. Each of the pies I have tried and family has tried have been delicious. A few local beers and ciders available. Will be in town next week and already planning a visit to Premier Meat Pies!

Great Selection of Speciality Meat Pies

By MPierce2fly |

Great Selection of Speciality Meat Pies, and side dishes. Clean and medium prices. Lamb and Shepards Pie were great. Loaded tatter tots were fantastic!!

Not worth the price

By Joan P |

We ate meat pies here and really didn't think they were worth the $7.99 we paid. You could add sides for additional cost but again not worth it. They did not have all the varieties on the menu and ours were barely warm. Skip this.

wow!

By CaribbeanFan |

Never had an Aussie meat pie before but now I'm gonna be upset I life far away from this cafe! Totally addicted now!

crust was good, anyway

By C Stephen S |

the meat pies were not very memorable. The crust was flaky; the interior -- meh. At least the tater tots were amazing.

SMALL BUT TASTY

By Chuck8700 |

We tried the Steak and Mushroom pie and Scottish Meat Pie while attending a function. We found that the pies were small, yet very tasty. We saw other dishes that looked very inviting like a Shepherd's Pie. Next trip for sure.

Meat pie

By bcheong |

Wanted a simple lunch and simple was what i got. The guiness pie had too little beef and filling, too much crust. The beef gravy topping was weird. Soup was ok

Unique but not cheap

By thehippoguy |

You can get some realyl cool, unique dishes here that taste great. However, for the portion size, the price seems quite high.

Absolutely one of the best things you'll taste in the entire city of Seattle. Not even joking.

By christinascucina |

Being from UK, I can assure you that Premier Meat Pies make the most incredibly delicious Scottish meat pies. The pastry is perfect as well as the filling, which is perfectly spiced and flavored (I'm not even a big meat eater). They are the best ones I've ever tasted in the US (no, I am not affiliated with the company and have not been given anything to write this-I'm just a HUGE FAN, as is the rest of my family!) The first time I tasted one was at the Renaissance Faire in Irwindale, many years ago and I was smitten. I'm so happy that Premier Meat Pies is expanding! I hope everyone tries these beauties as you will not be disappointed. The sausage rolls are also very good, but I have yet to try the other flavors (I love the Scottish ones so much, that's what I always buy)! I can't say enough about these pies. Please do try them!

Quick Eating at the Armory

By Russ C |

Pretty solid choice when you need to eat and you’re at the Seattle Center. Both the savory and sweet pies run around $8 with sides around $3. Portions aren’t huge - slightly larger than a dollar bill folded in half - but they are pretty dense. They’re already made do there’s no waiting. From order to eating you’re looking at just a couple of minutes.

Great pies. A taste of downunder

By Colleen P |

Ok, so its a tourist area along the piers in Seattle and the prices show it. But after craving a meat pies that resembles a Kiwi pie, the price is worth it. The curry lamb had good flavor but a little on the dry side. The chicken pie was really good especially “loaded” with mashed spud and bacon and sour cream... well worth the little extra in cost. Also nice to be able to have a beer with the pies. The place was small with only a few tables but clean and modern. Staff was warm and friendly, so on a rainy winter Seattle day... nothing like a hot pie from this place!! There are also salads available that will be tried next time we are back!

Decent food but terrible value!

By ny2nm |

Food was okay (not great) but prices were outrageous for the portions given. I had a Scottish pie for $6 and it was 3-4 inches across and only about 3 inches high and was very dry. My husband had a Guinness pie and it was bigger (5-6 inches across and a bit more than 3 inches high) and it looked great until he cut into it and found the filling only took up about 1/3 of the space. Just overall bad value. Looks like the pies are made well in advance then kept warmed in a heat box. That should have been our clue!

Reminded me of England

By MandMDen |

Had chicken hatch meat pie which was excellent choice. Sat outside in lovely 70 degree weather and enjoyed the waterfront and food.

Loved the food and the service

By Maria D |

Traditional meat pies and pasties. A little bit of Britain in Seattle. The service was excellent as were the food options.

Curry Lamb Pie

By Carnivalcat |

Visited the location near the Space Needle on a Sunday afternoon. The sausage roll wasn't what I expected (not American style sausage) but was still pretty good. The loaded mashed potatoes were made with red potatoes, IMO the only potatoes to use for mashed and were delicious. The real standout was the curry lamb pie; so flavorful that we came back a couple of hours later and got one to go.

Delicious!

By jenncupcake |

I tried the Shepard's pie and chicken pot pie and they were both delicious! The quality is noticeable and they have different pies so youll be bound to find one youll enjoy. My friend had the lamb curry pie and said it was delicious. Would come back again!

Amazing food!

By fullermom |

This food is just amazing and the customer service is even better!! Come eat here, you won't regret it!

great change of venue. good pastry

By rocketman000 |

refreshing menu. reasonable price for a quality item. we tasted the beef and mushroom pie. good taste. very saucey , not dry. nice light lunch .

Chili was good

By RS |

Visited this place as we were waiting for our time at Space Needle. Itʻs one of a few restaurants inside of a food court. I've never tried the food here so I decided to get something a bit light as I wasn't sure how I'd do going up high on a full stomach. I decided to get the chili and was pleasantly surprised. The chili was good and it hit the spot. I mean I've actually had better but I would recommend it if you visit here.

Beautiful Brûlée’s

By TeeELL |

Having tried much of the fare on offer in Seattle, we saw the Premier Meat Pies place and decided to give it a ‘go’. A small family run concern they served beautifully small portions, (phew, what a nice change). I had Shepherds Pie (came in a pie case) with thick gravy, my partner had Chilli with extra jalapeños and special request for garlic bread. The food was delicious and the garlic bread - not a menu item - was made especially, it was perfect. OK - here is the very best bit! With such reasonable sized meals we were able to fit in a dessert (pudding) and we both chose the brûlée because we are connoisseurs of same. I will tell you that the brûlée was the VERY BEST we have ever, ever tasted. The crunchy topping was perfect and the almond flavour beautifully subtle. If you want a change from the usual them we heartirl recommend this little restaurant.

Yummy meat pies.

By undgrad01 |

These pies had wonderful flavor and varieties. The Guenisis was very meaty flavor. My daughter had the chicken and it was the best pot pie.

Disappointing food, service was very good

By theRobertL76 |

First of all, for some reason TripAdvisor doesn;t have the Pier 54 location available to review, and perhaps this in unfair to the Harrison St. location. We visited the waterfront location on a busy Sunday afternoon, surrounded by throngs of tourists. We saw the signboard for Premier Meat Pies, and since I generally like these, we decided to give them a try for lunch. Upon entering, we were politely greeted by Whitney at the counter. Our order consisted of a Shepherd's Pie and Hatch chicken pie. My first choice of beer was not available, but there was an adequate local brewery choice available. Service was fast, and again polite, but the meat pies were not particulary good. Very small - about the size of a hockey puck. The Sheperd's Pie crust was pretty good, but the meat filling was extremely bland, the chicken was a little better. The manager on duty came over and chatted a bit and seemed very congenial; of course, we were the only patrons at the time. And even for a tourist area, the price seemed a little high. My recommendation would be to choose another of the dozens of restaurants in the area.

Everything I ever wanted in a restaurant, close to my home

By Annie L |

We were walking on the pier today and saw the sign "Meat Pies". We looked at each other and knew this was a place that we could potentially love. We went in, hoping for the best but worried we might be disappointed. We were not. I had the Guiness Irish Stew Pie. My husband had the Scottish Classic. We both had ours topped with mashed potatoes (I had the loaded mashed potatoes) and gravy. One bite and we both knew that this was Our Place. Since we live nearby, we immediately determined that it was also available for delivery. So...essentially we can have meat pies whenever we want and we plan to do just that. So much yummy goodness.

Meat + Pie = Love

By TheUhlmen |

One can only sing the praises of such a majestic creation as the offspring of the glorious pie and delicious beef/lamb/chicken/MEAT! Our little dude fell asleep while the rest of us were eating and woke up HANGRY! Steak and Mushroom pie to the rescue. For a cool $7, you're greeted with some of the best intermingling of meat and carbs we've ever experienced. The selection was solid, not vast, but certainly not limited. Meats, cheeses, mac 'n cheese and chili mac 'n cheese as well as veggies are all options, each wrapped in a warm hug of pie crust. Everyone in our family, from our 2 year old, up to grandpa was very impressed. If you're not familiar with meat pies, or even if you are, this place is well worth checking out!

Pies, potatoes, and chili

By Traveling-TiaraG |

I really like places that want to have a specialty item. Most of the menu here is meat pies. They do have some sides (mashed potatoes, chili soup, and others) to complement the meat pies. We got the Chicken pies with mashed potatoes with gravy, and loaded chili soup. They were all very good. I do think the meat pies were on the smaller side (not balanced to price) and if not for the sides, you would need to order 2 pies to fill up. Otherwise, the food was great!

Pie pie!

By Neem_neem |

Great tasting pies and salads inside the Seattle Armory. Shepherds pie my favorite and the steak and mushroom was awesome too.

Good, but small and spendy

By Maestra Viajar |

We had at the Seattle Center and they were good, but very small and surprisingly expensive. Each pie was $7, and were about 3 inches round. We had the steak and mushroom, and the Mac and cheese pie, both very good but we needed a second lunch later. We would not return.

Disappointed in everything but the food

By Skattman |

I would like to give this place less stars but the food was good, I got the meat and cheese pasty and it was pretty damn good but I have several complaints, 1st the pisser is in Iver’s and that’s a block away and although inconvenient I can live with that what did me in and the reason I will never return was the sneaky underhanded 5% they tell you was tacked on to cover rising food prices and you are notified of this on your receipt, it’s not listed in the menu, so they trick you by advertising a price then jacking it up 5% when you get your bill. That’s just down right deceitful, I could care less if the food was 5% more but when you trick me, I say f&$@ you, I will never go back. Honestly that screws the server because I’m taking out of their tip.

Irish Guinness pie

By dreamspeaker |

I dragged my husband to this shop at the Armory because I wanted to try it. I had a Scottish pie and he had the Irish Guinness Pie. Mine was just ok. The crust was a bit thick for me. His, though, was mouth watering! Either way, they were good and a novelty for folks who don't get to buy meat pies often. I do recommend getting the Irish Guinness pie, though!

Great Meat Pies

By Peter M |

As an "Aussie" I take my meat pies seriously and meat piesare hard to find in the US. I found PREMIER MEAT PIES at pier 57 on the Seattle Waterfront. I had a Sepherd's pie and later a Guinnes pie and both wete delicious accompanied by one of their larger beers. I still do not understand why meat pies are not more popular in the US Try them they are delicious

I was surprised at how good it was

By Dexter B |

I understand that Premier Meat pies are very popular in Australia and the UK but I'm in the USA and have never seen this restaurant before. I tried the Curry Lamb pie. It's a small pie that can fit in the palm of my hand. I loved it. It tasted really good. They also have dessert pies, but I didn't get one.

An unexpected pleasure

By Tradingcomet |

A nice selection of meat pies. This along with a Caesar salad and some tater tots makes for a very satisfying meal. The service is quick and the counter staff very friendly. They also serve wine!

The Pies...just ok

By Jamie32mi |

I was excited about eating here since I read on their website about Aussie meat pies. I have been to Aussie a few times and the pies at Premier tasted nothing like the meat pies in Aussie. The tater tots were yummy though. The gal at the counter was extra super friendly.

Good Meat Pies

By GoAlong2 |

This restaurant replaces the previous pie restaurant and offers an updated menu with several meat pies and salads. It is one of several lunch counter restaurants located in "The Armory" building at the Seattle Center. They offer a shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie, steak pies, and other variations. If you arrive late in the day, they may be out of some varieties. We were there for lunch and they had a wide selection. My chicken pot pie had a flakey crust with enough crispness to hold it together. The filling was tasty and creamy with large chunks of chicken and vegetables. The portions are modest, so I also had a bacon and pea salad, lightly dressed. This is a walk-up counter and the pies are already baked so they warm them up and serve them quickly. If you are looking for something different from the usual lunch fare, this place offers a tasty alternative.

Great place for comfort food

By Karen H |

I love pot pies so when my husband found this gem for me during our travels to Seattle, I was excited. It did not disappoint. I had a delicious chicken verde chili pie. It was delicious from the shell to the filling.

Easy and Economical

By VacationJunkie001 |

We had a good dinner here and service was great. Needed a break from all the great seafood. Convenient location and prices were very good. The teenagers enjoyed as well.

Shepard Mush

By Scuba Steve |

Shepherds pie tasted like Shepard mush, only could stomach half of the microwaved meat mush. Do NOT recommend.

Delicious

By Roadie Wilson |

We especially loved the crab dip and shepherd’s pie. And service was prompt and friendly. Thank you!

Not so great !

By IverJohnson |

Lunch included the chicken pie and the shepherd's pie. Maybe we expected too much. But we were disappointed. They were each ok... but they were just very average meat pies. We have had some from the local grocery that was as good. Well, it's vacation, what do you expect.

average

By tarheelUS |

service was fast & friendly, but the meat pies are remade and warmed to order. about on par with a frozen one from grocery sadly.

Sounded better than it tasted

By Micask |

Stopped by this place for lunch in a food court near the Chihuly Museum. The menu looked great so we ordered a Sheperd's Pie ($11.99) and a Tillamook Mac & Cheese ($11.49). For the size of the pie and the flavor, it was definitely not worth the price.

Excellent food.

By EphraimWilliams |

How could food court food be so good?!?!? I chose this place on a whim and the food was GREAT. I kind of had low expectations because it was in a food court. Boy was I wrong. I wish that they had more locations in the US.

Try the mashed and stuffed potatoes too!

By laurav922 |

I stopped in here for a snack before a work-related dinner that promised to be long and slow - so I would not be impatient while waiting for the meals. The mashed potatoes were real, cheap, flavorful, creamy and covered with bacon and other toppings. enough for every bite of potato.

Get the Irish Stew Pie

By Chartreuse |

This is located in the Armory at Seattle Center. I love savory pies. Some of the best I've had were in England. Hubby read this company is Australian. The pies are $7 and very small. If you are a big appetite person, you will need additional food or 2-3 pies. The Irish Stew pie was good. You can taste the beer in it. I split one with hubby along with a large Caesar salad, $5. They do have a smaller size salad but it's like child size. There are loaded mash potatoes and tater tots from a frozen bag. They were short staffed and we had to wait a long time. I could feel the frustration of the woman in the back who had to do all the food prep work. The cashier has the easier job. They have a separate small eating area with a common table or bar stool counter facing out.

You Mean You Can Put Meat in Pie?

By Jolene Edwards |

In search of some sustenance after a tough day of touristing, we were wandering a food court area near the Space Needle. I had heard of meat pies but had never had the opportunity to try one, so I decided I'd give it a try; I ended up being quite glad that I did, as these things are tasty! Both my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our selections. The pies looked initially a little small, so we figured we would go back up and grab a desert pie after, however these are quite filling. With no room for desert, we vowed to return at a later time to try a desert pie and will most certainly be back next time we are in Seattle.

Great stop on a whim!

By Brandi K |

We needed a snack and I'm so glad we chose this place! Great food, good service, good value....unique menu and we sat outside with a lovely view.

So Yummy

By Andy W |

Found this place our first night in Seattle and so glad we did. Nice selection of different meat pies - even some non-meat options as well, like the mac and cheese. There's actually another location on the water near Miner's Landing. So good.

GREAT LOCATION--GOOD FOOD FOR LUNCH

By realbigbear |

Premier Meat Pies is not a gourmet eating spot.. It is the place to get a filling and cheap (at least for Seattle in a touristy area) lunch. It has some seating of its own (there is more in the armory proper) and it serves beer. If you are visiting the Sky Needle or Dhihuly glass Museum, the restaurant is right there.

Mixed results?

By NateT123 |

Got the beef or lamb curry. Mine was pretty good and rather filling. My wife got the plain beef and herbs one, and it was fairly bland and not very filling for her.

Great late morning lunch!

By Tien |

We had three people ordering food. All of us liked the food. The meat pies were great! The mac and cheese was good but a small portion. A nice treat that was different than the usual food served in the US! The service was exceptional!

Dinner pies

By Jimvcr |

Had the chicken pie and the Mac and cheese pie. They were good and the kid like Mac and cheese pie. The pies are not that big but they were good enough for us for dinner. The tator tots were good. We did supplement the meal with some yogurt as well to round it out,

Good snack

By David B |

At the Armory Food Court by the Space Needle is a little shop selling meat pies of various kinds. Nice snack to hold me over till dinner, but really just avreage food. It was different than regular fast food.

BEST!

By Giana S |

I got the steak and mushroom pie, and it was phenomenal! It was dense, so you didn't even need a side of anything. I don't really like mushrooms, but I barely even noticed them in there. Perfect!

Good comfort food

By William B |

Well it was a good place to stop and eat. The area was like a food court in a mall. Tried the shepherds pie and macaroni n cheese. Had the loaded tator tots

A Taste of Oz

By Markus F |

Disclaimer: Just a wannabe Aussie! 2nd Disclaimer: I've only tasted these at Century Link field where they have a stand in the SW Corner But... go - these pies *and* the sausage rolls are delicious. Truly a great product well prepared and so good tasting!

Just like home...

By Nikki_Aus73 |

After 2 1/2 years in the US this is the closest we have been to a typical Aussie pie - yum! Kids devoured theirs in about 5 seconds! Sausage rolls were fabulous too with just the right volume of flaky pastry. Thanks

Good place to eat while visiting the Space Needle!

By laurie c |

Go into the Armory next to the Chuhuly Museum and find lots of restaurants to choose from (it's like a food court). Our chicken pies were very good!

Seattle Center food court selections...

By Infinity J |

This is located in the armory, which is very much like a food court at a big mall. For fast food meat pies, it was better than I expected. My lunch was indeed better than other's I was visiting with from other eateries in the court. Just set your expectations at "food court" and roll with it.

Excellent Food in a Food Court

By Steve D |

This place really surprised us. Being in a common food court area we didn't expect much more than fast food. SURPRISE, everything is fresh, tasty & reasonably priced. Loved this place and would go back here before most other places. Try it!!

Quick place for good comfort food

By stlouisgirls |

I had not experienced a restaurant or food truck or any dining establishment centered around meat pies, but I am glad we tried this place near the Space Needle in Seattle. There is a good selection of meat pies and at least one non meat choice with mac and cheese. The pies aren't big but the one I had was filling. With a side, it was a perfect, quick lunch. To balance a heavier meat and potato dish, I chose a broccoli slaw which was outstanding. I am not sure if it was the addition of cranberries or the sauce or something else but it made me want more of a dish with broccoli in the name which is atypical for me.

Yummy dessert

By Ashley G |

My husband and I enjoyed a little dessert pie from here. We were too full to eat in, so we took it back and ate it later. We ended up choosing the cherry berry. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the pies! We loved it!

Bread Pudding- Not Great

By JCW703 |

Ordered the "Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding Pie" which had great potential, but they pre-make the shell / crust and then fill it and reheat it. The shell / crust was super style and ruined the dessert.

Unexpected surprise

By KSSeaB |

At first, "Meat Pie" sounds weird. But it's really just the chicken pot pie, turkey pot pie or beef pot pie we all know and love. They also do traditional (sweet, dessert) pies. Anyhow, it was cool and damp, so a meat pie sounded good. The iced tea is made fresh daily. It was good; it was definitely fresh. I had the Chicken Breast with Hatch Chilis. It has black beans in it, also. I chose to top it with Cheddar Cheese and a dollop of sour cream, which I assume cost more but I don't know that for a fact. It was absolutely delicious. In fact, my husband and I planned to have a second meal here during our 8-day vacation; unfortunately, we cut our trip short by two days so didn't get back. My husband had the Steak and Mushroom pie which he then topped with mashed potatoes and gravy. He loved his meat pie, as well. Great service, great location, decent prices. Highly recommend.
