Great atmosphere in hotel lobby. Food was amazing! Great friendly and attentive servers. Would definitely come back again.

Was excited to stop in and try some of the items advertised on the menu board at the entrance to the establishment, but could not find them on the menu. Asked the staff about them and got a reply to the tune of......well I don't know what is on the menu board, but I am telling you we don't serve that. Did not appreciate the lack of customer service attitude, but decided to stay anyway. Inquired about a few other items and staff could not answer my questions and appeared to lack a general knowledge of their offerings. I was quite surprised to see this lack of training and customer service at a Marriott

This is a small restaurant and bar tucked into the lobby of the Marriott Riverside. They have an extensive whiskey offering, but I could buy a bottle for what a pour costs here, so I passed. The food is good and well made, but $15+ for a salad or sandwich is steep. If you are a Coke drinker, be aware that the hotel only has Pepsi. We ordered a Coke and were served a Pepsi (they do taste different). Overall, good for a hotel restaurant and convenient if you don't want to hoof it somewhere else to eat.

This restaurant is located inside a Marriott hotel. Great selection of whiskey and cocktails. It's a very foodie menu with excellent choices! We had several items off the appetizer menu and everything was stellar! Nice ambience, as it sits near the hotel lobby. More privacy can be had in a few booths that are located in a quiet corner of the restaurant. Wait staff was very friendly, and helpful in customizing some items for us.

I liked eating here. They were attentive to allergies and it was priced very reasonably for a downtown hotel restaurant. I ate there three times. Limited menu, which is also reasonable. It was noisy in the evenings - it’s a bar! One couple at the bar - beyond middle aged - was beyond inappropriate. To say they needed “to get a room” is an understatement. And - it’s a hotel. They probably had one. I wasn’t sure what I would have wished of the staff, but they, like all of us, were trying not to watch the “events.” The couple was undeterred even though the wait staff was beside them ordering. That being said - I liked the food and service. It made me realize I probably don’t ask for what I would prefer, as other behavior, that may have helped me enjoy my meal more. It was like an episode of “What Would You Do?” on tv. I did nothing but try to look away.......a unique and rare situation I would hope.

Every so often service is so exceptional it makes a special occasion truly memorable. Such was the experience at dinner, thanks in large part to the Food Service Mgr, D. Kendall. From the complimentary drinks, to the attentive wait staff, to the very well prepared and presented food, to Mr. Kendall taking the time on a very busy night to make sure all was well, there was not a moment of less than complete pleasure. Our expectations were far exceeded.

We enjoyed the extensive bourbon selection with optional 1oz pours. The staff was exceptional both at the bar and at the tables. Menu offered meals as well as small plates that were great for sharing.

This place is located inside the Marriot Downtown Waterfront Portland. It is a very small restaurant with a huge whiskey list. I love a good 20 plus year old single malt (thanks to a buddy for turning me on to that) but for $94 for a 2 oz pour I think I will pass and stick to the one at Costco. The food itself was quite good. I tried the Salmon entree with brussel sprouts which I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality for the price. The beef ribeye bites appetizer was outstanding for the price. Even though the space was small I am impressed by the food even though service was so-so. If I am in the neighborhood I will try some of the other dishes on the menu.

I had chicken and grits. The greens and pickled onions were a nice touch. The waitress dealt with loads of separate checks without issue. Probably wouldn't come out of my way for this but it was good while staying here.

I had a chocolate martini that wasn't all that good. Tasted more like coffee. I ordered vodka/orange juice after that. We didn't try the food here. Drinks were a little pricey, but what you would expect from a hotel bar. Service was fairly prompt.

Came in and see Frank. He is the most enthusiastic waiter you’ve ever had. The food is just as good as any other Marriott you may have visited.

First night in Portland and was too tired to head out to a restaurant, so decided to just eat in. It’s tucked in the corner of the lobby and can be crowded between 6 and 8. I took a seat at the bartender was very friendly. Had the Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp appetizer which was good and the Bacon Cheeseburger for dinner which was also good. Went back the next night just for some appetizers and had the Wings and Roast Pork Sliders and they were very good.

We went here several times during our stay. We found the food pretty good overall, and the service was great but it did have a few things they could improve on. A couple of times the food was lukewarm to cold by the time it arrived at the table and we had to tell them to reheat it. Also if you are looking for cocktails, this is not the place to go. We thought they really missed the mark with every drink, but it is a whiskey bar so there you go. The desserts and appetizers were very good!

Nice hotel restaurant option. We sat at the bar for dinner on mothers day. Ordered a great old fashioned and steak dinner. Also had a nice dessert.

Stayed here for a business trip and stopped in for their happy hour great little happy hour menu and dinner starts at 5pm so it’s nice to have appetizers and a couple drinks before dinner. Amazing bartender his name is Terry nice conversation.. He knows a lot about the area as well. The Brussel sprouts were amazing they’re grilled with Cauliflower and the dates wrapped in bacon another amazing appetizer and their daily soups are delicious. Definitely a nice stop staying at the hotel… where you don’t have to leave the hotel.

Very knowledgeable bartenders. Large selection of specialty drinks. Moderate prices and nice atmosphere

Pleasantly surprised at excellent service, fresh and tasty salads, very good bean soup, good tap beer selection, and then great dessert to share. For a hotel restaurant it was outstanding.

Ate there three times while on a business trip. Make sure that you say hi to Becca-June and ask her about the special drink she added to the menu. Pretty cool.

We had a nice happy hour here. The service is top-rate and the Bloody Marys are excellent. We returned for dinner, and while the service is still great and the food was decent, the menu is pretty limited — not a full restaurant at all. But the burgers were good and the pickled veggies were delicious.

The waiter was very friendly and solicitous but slow due to a very large crowd.I can't remember the food. Could not have been too bad like the room service that made me sick.

We came to Portland for the weekend. We went to the restaurant for dinner. The drinks was wonderful. The food was even great. The service though...not good, not even close to good. We had to track down the server several times. In fact, at one point my husband grabbed my soda glass to find the server to get some more soda. We made the mistake of asking one lady who said she would go and get us things (our order didn't come out with what we ordered) then she never came back. Was quick to be there for other tables but ours. It just seemed like they were all going in different directions and there was no organization. The manager (I think it was the manager) was brining out food and trying to put out fires because customers didn't get what they ordered or didn't get their food at all.
Nothing better than whiskey and tapas
Proof-Reader is the lounge in the Waterfront Marriott. Has a nice variety of whiskey options as well as special cocktails and spirits. The tapas were very good with a good variety of choices. Nice leather and oak ambiance. Worthwhile as a pre or after dinner spot to lounge away.
